So my son took me to this place because I told him I wanted spicy Thai food. I normally order 7 star and it is never hot enough. He told me they will make it hot enough. The family that runs it make sure you are happy with the food and make you feel special. The restaurant is in a strip mall, but inside you don't get that feeling. There are booths and tables with enough space between each to feel like you have a little privacy still. We will be back again!

Food is good but meat on the beef pad thai could have had more seasoning and. flavor. Servers were attentive and service quick. Loved the side salad and spring roll included with meal. Restaurant and restrooms were very clean. Atmosphere could have been improved immensely with more themed music to tie the decor and food together. Prices were a bit high for lunch portions.

I had an easy 5 Star lunch here on Saturday afternoon. I stopped in here with a good friend of mine that enjoys some Thai food. He mentioned that no one in his family liked Thai food but him, so even better.

I started my meal off with the salad that came with the entre along with some fresh rolls I had added on the side. Their were 3 fresh rolls in appetizer and they were made with chicken (also available with shrimp), lettuce, carrot, noodle, and basil wrapped with rice skin. I finished the small salad and 1 fresh roll.

Then the entre arrived. For my meal I ordered Pad Priew Wan which is the following. Stir fried onion, cucumber, red and green bell pepper, baby corn, pineapple, garlic, tomato and sweet and sour sauce. My protein with this was also chicken. This also comes with jasmine rice. This was deceptively filling. When they brought out the plate I thought it seemed kind of small but once I mixed everything together it was a smorgasbord of deliciousness!!! I also enjoyed my second fresh roll with the entre. I took the third one home.

Service was impeccable. Our server was friendly and very attentive and also very knowledgeable of the product. Everyone on the staff present said thank you and goodbye as we were leaving. The restaurant was also very very clean. I look forward to another visit soon.

I won't be back ...I came to oick up my order ...they asked me 5 times what's my name ...I tell them ...they go in check and tell me the order still being made ...I say no problem ....15 mins goes past ...they come tell me it will be ready in 5 mins...I said good it was suppose to be picked up at 630...it's now 720 smh .....they come back out and say after almost a hour wait time they gave my food to someone else and were gonna remake it now and they want me to wait additional time and pay full price ...that's insane...plus all that time looking around while waiting I notice how dirty the place is ...all along baseboards are black floor dirty ....and dust everywhere ...boxes pliled up in the hallway so I hate to see the cooking area ....I will not return ...I canceled the order ...not happy 1 bit ....to the ppl there thanks for wasting a hour of my time 😡😡😡😡😡

I ordered papaya salad thai spice and red curry thai spice. Let me tell you how GOOODDDD and SPICYYY it was! I grew uo eating thai chili peppers with every meal and the papaya salad was actually SPICY and very good! The red curry was soooo good too and spicy! The restaurant also smelled very good too! And it was my first time trying out Racha Thai Cuisine too!

Brought my family to this restaurant last night. We arrived around 8:50pm and they close at 9:30pm. Shortly after being seated, the waitress gave us menus and immediately asked us what we wanted to order without having time to look at the menu. She then told us that they shut the kitchen down at 9:15pm. I then stated that we probably should leave because it seemed as if we wouldn’t have the time to review the menu and order before they shut the kitchen down at 9:15pm. The waitress then began an attempt to retract her statement by saying that the kitchen didn’t close at 9:15pm but that they only just started cleaning the kitchen at 9:15pm. We’ve eaten here before, the food is good but you should show up early if you want to be treated properly as a diner and not rushed. I allowed my family to order and eat but I refused to order anything other than an iced tea. The same waitress asked me later if I wasn’t hungry, to which I responded that I didn’t want to put any extra pressure on the kitchen with them closing at 9:15pm.

I came in for a Pick-Up order. The Lady behind the counter was really nice and kind. The decorations were quite interesting to look at as I waited for my order. Not a long wait and the food was immaculate. No downsides. My mom was sick at the time and the food definitely helped her feel better.

Either way, the food has been consistently good, the staff is always friendly and accommodating, and the veggie/vegan dishes are top notch (and they have several of them).

THE BEST Thai food. You can’t convince me otherwise. Wish we had one near us! This is the first place I tried Thai food at a few years ago and it’s made my standards so high I really don’t like other places. The depth of flavor in each meal is amazing. If I could choose my last meal it would be the massaman curry from this restaurant 100%.

The crab Rangoon was my favorite and the pineapple stir fried rice was something special. I highly recommend it. The presentation and size of the dishes are quite impressive for the price they charge.

Our takeout experience from this restaurant was a delightful surprise. Both dishes (Goong Tod • Deep-Fried Shrimp and Pad Thai) were well-executed and flavorful, with generous portions and reasonable prices. I would highly recommend this restaurant for takeout options. If you're craving authentic Thai cuisine without breaking the bank, look no further!

Best shrimp pad thai I’ve ever had. They also have a ton of vegetarian/vegan options.

9.5 out of ten prompt fast delicious flavorful food kind servers. Only thing is the dining area seemed very dark which hides imperfections good for ambiance. Though it's not my vibe prefer bright shiny so I know it's clean. I'm sure it is though it's a personal preference. Mango sticky rice was on point so was pad Thai and Curry

Definitely one of my favorite Thia restaurants in Chesapeake. I love the fresh rolls, pad thai, Eggplant stir fry and the curry. Service was fast and perfect.

Very unique and very delicious food

Our "Go To" Thai place. we like to try something different each visit. On this visit we brought some friends from Texas. And they like it hot. One of the specials was a soft shell crab dish. Very good, but needed more sauce to use with the rice. my favorite dish is Pineapple Red Curry with shrimp. and we always get the Mango and Sticky rice when it is available.

I got the pineapple curry and it was absolutely delicious!

We ordered the Pad Thai noodles and Green Curry. Both orders came out quickly, hot and all the ingredients were fresh, even the vegetables had a fresh firm texture.
The green curry normally comes at a spice level of 2/5. I decided to step it up a bit and asked for the 3. That is probably the appropriate level for most hotheads like myself.

We have rarely been as disappointed with a meal as we were tonight. Crab langoons did not have any crab, i dont think. Chicken satay was good. Pad sew ew noodles were badly overcooked, like slimy, and DROWNED in fish sauce. Pad Thai was HOT spicy, although I asked for mild, with no sweetness or peanut flavor but plenty of fish sauce and heat. Yellow curry was white and clearly tasted of heavy cream and no curry. When the manager was told, she said they had a new chef, admitted that it was not right, and she gave us a free Thai iced tea. One, Thai iced tea. The one upside was that the server was very nice and attentive.

Great local Thai place! Relaxing, cozy environment. I had the KANG PANANG and loved it. Was large enough to take some home and have left overs. We are planning on returning. Great experience!

Pad see ew is one of my favorite dishes, but a lot of places skimp out and use the wrong kind of noodles. Racha Thai didn't disappoint.

I just experienced an outstanding meal from this restaurant. I ordered the pork Thai fried rice for pick-up. When I arrived at home to consume the meal I was not disappointed. I had ask for a spicy 3 of 5. The meal was on the spot, spicy and very tasty. I consider myself as a connoisseur of Thai fried rice as I first enjoyed it in Thailand in 1963 as a member if the Armed Forces and have eaten in many Thai restaurants. I now consider Racha Thai Cuisine as an excellent place for Thai fried rice and am sure that other menu items are just as authentic. I'm sorry that I rushed into eating my order before I thought of taking a photo to include here. But I can tell you it was well presented. Definitely a place that I'll be returning to. I hope that everyone else will enjoy it as much as I did.

Really liked that they had a full vegan menu with many choices of appetizers, salads, soups and rice and noodles. Food was piping hot and delicious. We tried the Vegan Temura, Tom Yum Jay and Tom Kha Jay soups and the Fantasy Fried Rice - all were excellent. Service was efficient and smooth.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable place! The food is superb and the service is great. I can't say enough about the food. If you love Thai food, this is the place to be. All meals are prepared with the highest standards. I have been eat at this place for years and it never disapoints.

I had been at Chesapeake Hospital and decided to stop in for wonton soup to tide me over until dinner. It was awful. The meat filling was hard and as a rock and white. At first I thought the dumpling wasn't cooked. I told the waitress she said she will tell the cook. I guess I am spoiled every other Thai restaurant; i.e., Tida Thai has the best soups. If the soups is not good, I am not even going to try the meal.

A nice atmosphere 👌 ... it was a little more on the sweet side for me, but tastes great! 2 star papaya salad hit the spot!

I’m having friends at the house tonight and now I have to cook more food because this place is incredibly over priced for what you actually receive. All the white styrofoam boxes are spring rolls. I was given 2 CUPS OF RICE for all the curry. $18 for a small plate of drunken noodles?!?! These people must be drunk!!!! Never again!!!

My salmon was delicious, but my wife's flounder was fried extremely dry.

We ordered 3 appetizers and 2 kinds of rice dishes and one noodle dish for takeout. The calamari was awful! See picture. Burnt so much and it wasn’t edible.
The pineapple fried rice was gooey. Overcooked rice that feels so awkward when you eat. It used to be one of my favorite places to eat out. But now the food tastes really bad and it’s not worth it for the money we pay. The portion size getting smaller and smaller for appetizers. I will not recommend this place.

Really nice experience. Loads of options on the menu including a lot of vegan entrees. The atmosphere was pleasant. Quiet and clean. I had the basil combo fried rice at medium heat. It would be plenty spicy for most but I like it hotter so they provided Thai chili seasoning for me to kick it up to another level. It was really good and some of the best fried rice I have eaten. Salad and spring roll appetizer was also really good. The dressing was lovely. I will be going back.

Wow.. this place was just awful. I was excited to take my friend here because I love Thai food and he has never tried it.

This was my first time eating here and the service was so terrible. Nobody acknowledged us when we walked in and were waiting to be seated. When we finally were seated our server took a long time just to come over and greet us. Just getting water took a long time. When we ordered she was cold and rude. Not welcoming at all. We started with the fried veggies as an appetizer, and that was the only decent thing we ate. I ordered the phad Thai noodles, a classic traditional Thai dish I've had MANY times before at other restaurants. First off, they brought me the wrong order twice and had to take my dish back because it wasn't the protien choice I ordered. I didn't care about the mess up, but they kept taking the dish away from me after realizing it was incorrect. When I got the correct one, the flavor was really bizarre like a sour soy sauce. And that's not what it's supposed to taste like. It should have a slightly sweet and tangy flavor. With a hint of creamy peanut flavor. And that's not how it tasted at all. It was also dry and the noodles were hard instead of solf how they should be.

I recommend the drunken noodles to my friend because it's another favorite dish of mine and I knew my friend would like it. However, the noodles were soggy like mush, and the flavor was also off.

Every time we tried to get assistance from our server, she would ignore us. Other servers passing by were more helpful. And when ours would help, she would take a long time or forget what we even asked for, which was just more water, a lime, and sweet chili sauce. Nothing difficult. I was very disappointed with her lack of attentiveness. And rude approach when she was present.

The only time she was kind was when she gave us the bill, probably because she wanted a good tip. She forgot my to go cup for my Thai tea 3 times. She saw me ask someone different, and then she brought it over.

Also, my friend ended up throwing up imminently when he got home. He got food poisoning. We will not be returning again. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE.

The food tasted okay. We tried red curry and a chicken dish. The chicken dish felt a little less warm, and the red curry was served hot. We didn't feel the spice level was true to the rating, even the spicier food on the menu was mildly spicy. Our wait was nearly 40 minutes before the food was served, but this could be just an outlier incident. We liked that there was an entirely separate section on the menu for vegans.

This is and has been our favorite Thai place in Hampton Roads. The food is always spot on and full of fresh, delicious flavor. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the restaurant is clean. There was only one time in probably 10 years that they messed up our order and forgot to give us the fresh spring rolls we ordered. My husband called as soon as he noticed and they were so kind and apologetic. They offered to make them for us but we were already home and didn't feel like going out again so they offered to add them onto our next order. I was a little skeptical that they wouldn't remember but not only did they remember, they STILL remember every time we go in! Too funny!
They are closed on Tuesdays though, so be prepared to go without on those days. Don't be weak like we were one day and go to the 'other' place nearby that I won't mention by name, but a famous Disney princess shares their name... 😉

Food is always amazing here. Just watch to make sure they pack everything you order for takeout. There have been 2 occasions in which sides I paid for were missing.

food is decent. I’ve had better. But it’ll do. Just way too many onions in all of my dishes. Next time I’ll ask for no onions at all. I hate onions and thought I could pick them out but there’s so many of them. The staff was nice but they were obviously short staffed on a Friday night.

Hands down the best Thai food I've had in years!!!!

We are new to the area and were looking for a good Thai restaurant. It seems that we found it. My wife and son are both vegetarians, so the abundance of choices for them was a pleasant surprise. The service was stellar and the cooking was very good. We will be returning on a weekend evening to taste the work of the #1 chef.

Best and favorite Thai place around. We've been here in for lunch and dinner + have gotten take out several times. The food is consistently great and the service has been too. I went to Thailand a while ago and the first thing I did when I came home, was eat here to "taste test" while my memory was fresh -- can happily attest that it is like being back in Thailand with fresh + great cuisine. We will continue eating at Racha Thai and recommend them to everyone and anyone.

Food is good, but they are short-staffed.

Racha Thai is my favorite place to get curry. Even the Indian restaurants don’t make curry dishes as good as Rascha Thai.

I rarely give reviews. Although, the food was utterly unpleasant. I ordered two different curry entrees that tasted precisely the same, extremely watery and bland. The meet was also very scarce. I eat Thai curry often from many different restaurants and various cities, and this was by far the worst. Complete waste of my money and now time writing this. Hopefully, it's time well spent to warn others. Do not order here.

This place is AMAZING. Hands down the best Thai food I’ve ever had. The staff is so sweet and friendly.

The staff was friendly, but the service was a bit slow. They were understaffed, that's why I didn't ding them on the rating. Unfortunately that is how it is many places. Just be prepared to wait a bit for your food.

The food was, as my mom would say, "superb!" I had the drunken noodles with shrimp. I don't recall the menu showing it, but it was a bit spicy, though I still enjoyed it. The salad with ginger dressing was also good. My mom had the stir fry with the combination meat (#31). She likes basic foods so we were not sure how she would like Thai food. Surprisingly, she loved it!! She even said she plans to come back again.

This place has really improved since it was Bangkok Garden's worst location. (After thaf it was "Royal Garden" for a while and got even worse.) Congratulations to the "new" (I'm sure it's been 5 years, if not 10, since the change) management on turning things around.

The lemongrass soup was a little bland and the spring rolls were sort of tough, but both were acceptable and the salmon curry made up for it all. The portion was relatively small for an entrée, but the curry was perfect and the salmon had a great charred sear and was served in a full filet. Easily the best rendition of this dish I've ever had.

Especially if you haven't visited for a decade or more, it might be time to give Racha Thai a second chance.

Pad thai was a bit bland and the inside was dirty. Service was decent.

Try this place for the first time tonight and it is literally one of the best meals I have ever had. I got the pineapple curry and had mango sticky rice for dessert.

Delicious, fresh Thai food. The service was fast and wasn't too busy.

My friends and I have been eating here for a while. Recently, service has gone downhill. A few weeks ago, we went there and the server threw our plates on the table as though we were an inconvenience. Today, only one order was brought out and my other friend had to ask if we were getting our food. It was finally brought out thirty minutes after we ordered and it wasn't busy when we ordered. There's been other incidents, but these two were deal breakers. While the food is good, we will not be returning.

I’m huge on customer service and the staff delivers exceptional customer service every time. They are willing to explain things on the menu to me, answer any questions or concerns I have, help me decide if I’m unsure, and provide the time and attention to detail I need when placing my order. I’ve tried different menu items and I was satisfied each time but most importantly, I like the customer service.

Perfect place for authentic thai food!

Picking up for door dash lady at the register very rude. Had an attitude for no reason. Hadn't even sent the order to the kitchen and told me I should cancel it. Ladies up front very rude. Kept telling me to cancel it then saying something in their language to each other.

Papaya Salad and the Curry dishes are great

The food good. The staff was friendly. They even gave me a Tai Tea to go.

Tad katim and massaman curry were overly salty. The salad dressing and other sauces seemed to be very watered down. I usually really enjoy food but today everything was off.

Service is excellent. The spicy mussels appetizer. Amazing. Also the crispy orange chicken. Yes. My go too for Thai food.

Great food and an amazing staff.

Absolutely, hands down my favorite Thai restaurant. The portions are generous. I had Racha Pad Thai and it is the best Pad Thai I have ever had. I love asking for the spice tray to add a little heat and umami. All staff are very friendly and efficient. I took my friend last week and now she is a fan. The wood paneled walls and decor make this a beautiful setting to enjoy their amazing food.

Food was 5 stars, server was not. Im pretty sure she was new to waiting tables and probably the country too, very nice but you have to bring back the drinks when you refill 😅. Definitely going back, my shrimp red curry was the best I've had and my girls pad Thai was excellent. Lava shrimp appetizer was better than most restaurants bang bang shrimp and the coconut custard for dessert was a nice finish, light and not too sweet.

Met two of my dearest friends here. It's the first time I dined at Racha Thai Cuisine. Everything was piping hot, delicious and flavorful! Our server was excellent, so friendly and accommodating. She suggested some menu items for us. Will be back for sure!

You can get any level of heat that fits your taste. Servers are friendly, speaking English or Thai. Peaceful ambience, appetizers, entrees, lite or hearty fare.
