Strip-mall outpost for traditional Thai noodles, stir-fry & soups, with takeout & delivery options.
Great Thai restaurant with full traditional dishes. We had yellow and red curry which were both excellent with a great flavor profile of spice and creamy coconut milk. Service was very good and restaurant has plenty of space for different party sizes. Definitely recommend trying!!
A good friend of mine recommended this place and I'm so happy she did! The establishment was well lit, clean and wait staff was attentive. Their food was fresh and well flavored. They didn't have to rely on salt or msg to mask the lack of flavor like most oriental take out places (primarily "Chinese"). Prices are justified by the quality of the food. If you have a dairy intolerance or if you're a vegan, then this place is great.
I have been craving Tom yum soup for weeks. So this little place was just what I needed. The soup was super delicious!! Also the ladies where so friendly I dined in late and they where so polite no one rushed me out the door!!
So Update!! It's been years since I been here and the service and food was just as amazing today as it was back in 2019!! The ladies were so nice and the Pad Thai was tasty and the Tom Yum soup was so flavorful I can't wait to go back!!
Food is delicious with a very good flavor and portion sizes .One entree is good enough for two adults . Gina our server was friendly and helpful
...so where to start. The customer service is TERRIBLE and it's sad because the chef there, she's really nice. The guy at the register is Extremely rude, not just to me but to customers on the phone and anyone coming to get an order to go. He exaggerated cook times so that customers would leave, I and my friend sat and watched him do this at least five times and that's not including his phone orders.
The food looks good but it ISN'T and that's also disappointing, not only was the food unappetizing it was overpriced and plain white rice isn't included with the meals, it's an expensive extra that you have to request. We also had to tell them to bag our TAKE-OUT.
Lastly I usually go to Racha Thai Cuisine and the only reason I didn't go today is because for some reason they were closed on Tuesday.
I REGRET wasting my money at Jasmine Thai Cuisine, the food and customer service was disappointing. A very UNWELCOMING experience for my friend and myself.
GO TO RACHA THAI CUISINE instead!!
This place is pretty darn good. We got takeout pad Thai and panang curry and both were very yummy. Portion size is good. A little more pricy compared to Chinese takeout but the quality is much better. I would eat here again. And FYI Thai food is spicy so if you don’t like spicy ask for less spice.
I love Jasmine Thai. I stumbled across this restaurant in 2014 with a friend and ever since then I can not find a Thai restaurant that taste as good. I was stationed in VA and now live in NC, but when ever I go to visit I stop in and get the pad see ew. The ingredients are always fresh and the staff is always pleasant. If you get a chance you should give it a try. It's definitely a good choice for lunch or dinner.
Food is delicious with a very good flavor and portion sizes .One entree is good enough for two adults . Gina our server was friendly and helpful
Great food and service.
Good food but prices are too high. After lunch they only offer large portions only.
Food was great!
I only have the fried rice(33) and fried spring rolls and they are always good..customer service is amazing
Great Thai restaurant with full traditional dishes. We had yellow and red curry which were both excellent with a great flavor profile of spice and creamy coconut milk. Service was very good and restaurant has plenty of space for different party sizes. Definitely recommend trying!!
Food was not as I expected t thai food to be. Service was generic have seat check on you once. Argument with another customer ensued on other side during meal. Discomforting and while they had lots of plant on floor by window there was very little effort in ambiance it had generic. Rental space felt like office that served food.
I love it here. The Thai food is delicious and the people who own it are so nice. I tell all everyone about how good the food is at Jasmine Thai.
I have been craving Tom yum soup for weeks. So this little place was just what I needed. The soup was super delicious!! Also the ladies where so friendly I dined in late and they where so polite no one rushed me out the door!!

This cute mom and pop restaurant is so good! Moving here from Florida I miss my mom’s cooking and this place really hit home. The food was so good and you know it was made with so much love. Very authentic Thai cuisine. The price is very reasonable for how much you get! The staff is very sweet and friendly. Would definitely recommend this to anyone that wants to try authentic Thai cuisine!
This place is unreal every time. Most places can do a superb dish once in a while, but this has literally slapped every single time. 20 out of 10. They actually know how to cook spicy. So good I just wanna go get in a bar fight!
Absolutely great hidden gem here in Chesapeake
Love this place
We love this place. Don't let the simplicity fool you. They keep their best effort in the food. We have been enjoying the food for years
Ordered the fresh rolls and Tom Yum soup. Both were delicious and very fresh.
This place is a hidden gem. Don't let the outside fool you. The food is always made fresh, so be prepared for a small wait. I drive 30 minutes, passing closer Thai restaurants, to get here.
I had stewed chicken and it was pretty good but the cabbage did not taste like Caribbean it tasted like salt and pepper and the beef patty was so thin, but i want to give this place another try I probably return for the rasta pasta
We chose to trust the “hidden gem” reviews and give this place a try. We are so glad we did! Truly some of the best food we’ve had since moving to the area. We’ve tried a few other local recommendations and this was our first Thai restaurant to try out and they did not disappoint. I normally don’t like pad Thai but I tried my husbands and it was amazing, my Tom ka was the best I’ve had in a long time. We look forward to coming back!
Found restaurant online and also reviewed the menu with prices. Placed to go order and picked it up. Bill ($14 for lunch Pad Thai) was more than what was posted online ($9). When asked about the pricing was told it wasn't their site. After showing them the site to include their address/location then was told those were old prices. I advised them they need to update their website as this is false advertising 😤. Not sure I will be going back.
Beef Satay like shoe leather, very tough. Masman curry very bland, should have asked for more heat
This place is a hell no….
If you ever see the portion of food. Extra small portions for $15.00… this place is so overpriced.
Chicken wings are gross 🤮. The food is awful. Don’t go here period!!!! I’m helping you
Amazing gem in the middle of nowhere perfect stop on the way to obx even our 8 year old loves it. The mango and red curry was unbelievable. It might be the best Thai food we ever had.
7 months later and still not a single apology
Waited an hour and a half. Took 58 minutes to get appetizer. Us trying to be understanding that they had one cook waited the hour and a half only to be told , our food wasn't cooking or being prepped . We didn't get a sorry or anything .
Bonus points the wings at 11.76 was good but not worth the wait
Love the Pad Thai!
Burrito loves this little nondescript local gem! Bringing Dumpling, he has fallen in love with the Jasmine Spring Rolls 😍. He gushed on and on about these and their perfect crispness. The chicken pad Thai is a Burrito staple and the portions are large enough to share. Burrito has been here many times for both takeout and dine in and the food is always consistent. It is run by several lovely and friendly ladies who enjoy sharing their love of cuisine. The inside is fairly basic, but don’t let it fool you about the quality of the food coming out of this open kitchen. A definite must if you’re in the area and craving Thai.
Food was good
Fabulous tofu Pad Thai. Very accommodating
Authentic and great tasting Thai food!
My dinner was great. Small establishment but great service, nice portion size and everyone was so nice. I didn't think the prices were too high either. I ordered a desert to go because I was so full.
Great food 😋
Food is so good love the chicken fried rice 🍚 😋
I go here at about once a week for lunch for the last three years or so. It is hands down the best Thai food I've ever had. I used to stop in to Racha Thai down the street every once in a while but once you have the food from Jasmine, Racha just tastes like something from the frozen section in the grocery store.
I will say, when they say 3 stars for spiciness, they mean 3 stars. I can order 5 star at Racha and it's like candy.
I’ve been meaning to write this review since April 2022. I used to frequent this place for years, about 5 years, while living nearby. My most recent and LAST experience was in April 2022. A friend decided to take me out for my birthday and my place of choice was this small business. My friend had never been, and I raved about how good the food was. However, the customer service has always been subpar. When the lady used to run the register over the years, she was between her 30s 40s, her customer service manner always appeared as though “she’d rather be elsewhere and that she was aggravated that a customer came in”. I would always try to make conversation with her and be overly nice thinking that maybe she was just having an “off” day, but her manner remained the same, nonchalant and not welcoming. I looked passed this for a while and then at one point I stopped coming because her mood was off putting. I decided to give them another try. Then, I began seeing a man who had taken over the register. His customer service was okay, better than the nonchalant lady, but nothing to brag about. My last visit with my friend led me to my permanent decision of never supporting or referring customers to this restaurant. We went during lunch time, I ordered my usual, and I decided to get the DINNER portion. Long story short, when the guy brought my plate out, it was clearly the lunch size portion. I know the difference in the portion sizes because I’ve come here so much and have ordered the same meal over and over, lunch and dinner portions. When I brought it to the guy’s attention, he went and spoke with the older lady (the cook), came back and she said it was the correct portion. He tried to convince me that it was the dinner portion and I let him know it was not. I asked him how can we rectify this issue because it was clear that he was more concerned about going back and forth with me, rather than rectifying and solving my issue. He eventually flat out said they were not going to do anything. The tone and manner in which he handled the issue was very rude. My friend even jumped in and let him know how awful it was how he handled the issue after I had been bragging to her about the food, the fact that I was a long-time customer, and the fact that I was polite and nice to him when I even addressed the issue. In summary, his reaction to my friend was, oh well, we’re not remaking the food or adding anything to it and that’s that. In the midst of my friend and the guy going back and forth, the older lady (the cook) comes out and stands in the middle of the aisle with a knife in her hand. I was taken back and could not believe that both the guy and old lady were carrying themselves in such manner representing this business. I WILL NEVER SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS EVER AGAIN SIMPLY BECAUSE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. No, I don’t recommend this restaurant at all. It was evident through the years they do not value customer service, and they do not value those who support their business. If you want Thai food, try Racha Thai Cuisine a couple minutes up the street, they have great customer service EVERY SINGLE TIME and everyone was pleasant and welcoming in my several interactions, over the phone and in person!
So authentic and delicious! We love all of their dishes and they have wonderful specials.
It's rare for me to give a one-star review so when I do, it's for a valid reason. This was our second time eating here. First was in January of 2020. My friend and I with our two boys, all who love Thai. That we were the only ones there during dinner should have been an indication, but our other Thai place was closed that night so we gave it a chance. It was awful.
Fast forward to about a month ago. Went to order Thai for pickup, but our usual place is closed on Tuesdays so we looked for something else. My husband found this place and placed our usual order. It was the worst. We normally order 4/5 spice. We like heat, even Thai heat. My mother-in-law doesn't do we ordered her a 1 or mild. When my husband returned with our dinner, we could tell right away something was off. All of the sauce was separated but the real test was when we tried it. I say try because none of us could eat it. The heat and taste of habañero was so overwhelming that it was the only thing happening. We tried to muscle through but it wasn't possible. Upset that we spent about $120 on food that was inedible and not salvageable (we TRIED), my husband decided to give them a call and let them know what happened. He was thinking someone made a mistake and accidentally added too much spice because nobody would intentionally do that, and wanted to give them a heads up so other's meals weren't affected. He also didn't want to leave them a negative review without giving them a chance. When he told them, they just said "okay, thank you" and hung up. Clearly not interested in the feedback or their clientele.
It wasn't until the next day when the same friend from our first visit was over and we were relaying what happened, that she reminded me that it was the same place we had gone to. I looked it up and sure enough, same place.
Do yourselves a favor (and save some money) and just go to Racha Thai on Battlefield (or literally any other Thai place). Just remember they're closed on Tuesdays!
Top chef
Dinner prices seem a little high to me. But the fried rice with shrimp was good. I try alot of Thai spots everywhere I go, I would return just for the fried rice if nothing else but during lunch time. Got the chicken larb salad it was a little to wet for my liking.
A good place to get Thai food. The chicken was so tender. My husband devoured the Jasmine spring rolls while they were still very hot. Fresh food. Very nice service. We were happy we stopped.
Food was extremely good and prices were reasonable. The employees were really nice as well. This was my first time and I’ll definitely be coming back!
Got the drunken noodles. Had a ton of vegetables with the noodles which I feel most place skimp on. So that was a huge positive. I ordered a 3 and it felt like a 4 hahah. I will order a 2 next time. It was flavorful spicy, not just spicy. Staff were very pleasant as well.
The service was very friendly and quick. We ordered our food and it was being made as we sat there and chatted with each other. The food came out quickly, hot and fresh! I will be coming back next time I'm in town.
...so where to start. The customer service is TERRIBLE and it's sad because the chef there, she's really nice. The guy at the register is Extremely rude, not just to me but to customers on the phone and anyone coming to get an order to go. GO TO RACHA THAI CUISINE instead!!
They have really stepped up their game. Very spicy!
Food was excellent, and the staff was super friendly
Good food!!
First and only experience ordering from here was not pleasant. Website said lunch prices were in effect until 3 PM, and I ordered at 2:30 PM. When I went to collect my food, I was charged the price on the dinner menu. I'm not the argumentative type, but thought it was a little underhanded... however, I was willing to put up with it if the food was good. Sadly, that was not the case. I ordered a curry with tofu, and was shocked to discover that there were no vegetables! It was literally just tofu and sauce. I've ordered Thai food on 3 different continents, which included 3 Thai cities, and I've never seen a Thai curry served without vegetables. Needless to say, I was not pleased. I'll stick to Racha Thai, they always treat me right.
The place is very clean and the food is very good.
Love the chicken spring rolls.
One of my favorites Thai restaurants in the area
Best Thai spot around here take it from a 100% Thai guy hands down
Best thai I've had since coming back to mainland USA. Expensive but good portions and flavor
Very professional, friendly, and prompt staff, serving great food, I liked it!
Worse service ever. Gave me the wrong order and I don't even eat that. Will never return
I order my Pad Thai a 2 out of a 5 for spicy which to me is a medium spicy. I can't even taste and enjoy the food because it's crazy spicy. This is a problem that needs to be fixed.
I purchased the whole fish came home had the fresh spring rolls was great. I then started to eat the fish and it was over done as well as it tasted awful it was not pleasant at all. I have eaten there 3 time and enjoy the food but I don't understand if the food isn't right why sever it? I won't be eating there again sorry that how bad it was.
Phad Thai is amazing here
Food is amazing. Be careful of the spice levels, always start with a 1 out of 5 then move up from there. I like spicy food but a 2/5 is about the equivalent of the upper end of hot wing spiciness at a wing joint.
Worst customer service I ever experienced in a restaurant! If I could have given it 0 stars, I would have!!
Argued with the owner over a situation and was ignored and not even acknowledged. Really bad customer service.
The owner is rude, instead of making a situation right, they decide to ignore you and charge you for food they shouldn't charge you for. Asked for a little bit of spice but instead they made it inedible. Will not be returning.
Customer service is awful, they do not treat their customers right. I ordered a hot level 2 out of 5 and it was too hot to the point where I was hiccuping. I like spicy too, but this was not edible. They made us another plate but still charged us for the first rice even though we did not eat the food. We will not be returning.
Customer service should be better.
Love the egg rolls with that amazing sauce.
Been going to this place for thw 5 years Ive been here. Awesome family owned resturant. Its basically grandma and mom cooking home cooked meals for every order. My go to order is their pad thai.
* Editing to add that we still love this place after two years!
We went to Thailand several months ago and haven't wanted to have thai food again until we found an authentic place, this place definitely nails it. They were highly recommended to us.
The pad thai is perfect. The noodles were just right, super fresh sprouts and roasted peanuts and lime, and I love the more hoisin based sauce.
We also got the potato/ pineapple yellow curry with chicken and it is also delicious. My husband said it's the most authentic thai he's had in the states.
It was hard to stop ourselves once we were super full, but we still have good sized lunches from leftovers, too.
Average Thai food. Pad see eaw didn't have much taste, very plain. I've had better but would go here in a pinch.
Curry was on point. I didn't like the fact that the drunken noodles was $3 extra for meat but flavor profile was there.
Best Thai in the area! If you want REAL Thai spice, you’ll get it here!
Great portions delicious food cooked in front of you
Not normally one to leave bad reviews, I recommended this to a friend since it's close and used to be pretty solid, they forgot part of the order then double charged him for a thai tea and the food was way more bland than it used to be. Got the green curry extra spicy and there wasn't a whole lot of flavor or spice. Really disappointed
Great place, the food is fresh and the staff is friendly. They serve high quality food at competitive prices. Go to Jasmine Thai Cuisine and you are in for a treat.
Was going to say a bit pricey, but the proportions are huge. Pad see ew is my favorite Thai noodle dish and they did well. And the lady warned me about the spice level. Im usually a 4 out of 5 but they do double so my level 2 is fire! That's just a warning for you fellow spice heads!
This is the first time that I've ever had Thai food, and it was so delicious!!! I had the fresh spring rolls, fried spring rolls, and the Pad Thai. I have an egg allergy and I really appreciated that they are very conscious about food allergies. I will definitely be coming back again.
Fried Rice and Pad Thai are very tasty. Service is great.
Clean and organized. To-go curry orders are extremely hard to eat without having your own set of dishes to use due to the fact that the rice comes in an extremely small box.
Food was good however customer service not so much. After paying $20.00 for lunch I was told that sauce was $1.00 extra, $2.00 if paying by card. The women at the counter said the owner’s rules - no exceptions. After spending $20.00 on lunch (and leaving a generous tip for take out) the condiments should be complimentary. We will not be going back, plenty of other places that will be happy to take my money and not try to gouge me over something that should be included with the price of the meal.
Very tasty curry, love it
Really great Thai food.
I was next door and tried to place a to-go order over the phone. The phone rang and rang, so I went over to place an order in person. I stood at the counter and waited for the front of house person to take my order. Meanwhile, I make eye contact with the lady cooking in the back and we exchanged smiles a couple of times. I’m still waiting for my order to be taken when a gentleman comes through the door wanting to dine-in. He is seated and his order was taken before I’ve even been acknowledged. I finally, decide just to speak up and tell the woman my order. She still doesn’t make eye contact, then tells me, “ That’ll be 30 minutes, maybe sooner, maybe later.” I got the vibe that my business was not wanted, even though they were slow for it being a lunch hour. So, I told them to never mind and they have permanently lost my business. I was excited to try this place as it had such good reviews and a high rating. Too bad my first time trying to order was met with such rudeness and disdain for my business. I will never give my money to people who treat me rudely inside of their business.
Overall just okay.
(+) Attentive and polite waitstaff. Very clean. Affordable.
(+/-) Food was just okay, but not great, and didn't seem authentic. (I have travelled across Thailand.)
(-) Zero ambiance.
Is Jasmine's closed permanently? Please nooooooo
Best thai spot in the 757 hands down
Spice was great. Flavor was great. Only comaint was they didn't have Pad Woon Sen noodles on the menu.
Ladies at the front are strictly business, but they make some quality Thai food! Our go to is the Pad Thai and the spring rolls. I spent several months in Thailand and this spot hits my cravings for authenticity perfectly!
Family friendly atmosphere and very good service! Ordered Masman...8 out of 10 spice level was 10 out of 10 delicious level.
10/10 BEST Thai food I have ever eaten! I will never stop eating here. I take everyone here that visits from out-of-town. They make things spicy if you ask for it, just be careful! It's not like a buffalo wing kind of spice.
Definitely the best thai food in hampton roads hands down. This place is a gem!
Mediocre food, at best.
Great Thai food! Super staff!
Always very good and fresh...
Food was made with love, lunch portion was huge and they have a dinner portion. Definitely worth the trip.
Awesome food and great service!
Hot, fresh made to order. Enjoyed spring rolls and chicken pad thai. Delicious, watch out for spice levels. I enjoy spiciness but my regular 2 out of 5, here I would do 1. Still delicious, just a personal preference. Staff was quick and efficient, wait time minimal.
Keep coming back to try different items on the menu, Always very good food
Pad thai here is AMAZING!!! Cooked fresh and not dry! Beware of their spice levels! A 3* is about all I can handle! Definitely recommend!
Very tasty!
Was a pleasure to eat here
Bland
The cook was an old woman that was hacking up a lung. It was disgusting,NEVER covering her mouth or washing her hands.I can’t believe the reviews are so good. Plus the woman working the register is a nasty attitude person.
The food is so fresh and cooked right in front of you if you sit at bar top. The service was excellent. Small restaurant but so worth the drive. Will definitely be my go to for Thai food.
Really good great place to try something new
UPDATE: we have not been here in a year. We were in the area and there was not much else for thai food in the area. So we decided to come in and try them again. YES! They got it right! Ordered the panang Curry, it was perfect. We also had the beef salad, although not spicy, it was done well. I changed the stars to 4. I thank you and my palate thanks you!
Thai is our favorite food and we have tried countless Thai restaurants. This and the one in Ft. Lauderdale are by far the worst. We ordered Tom Yum Goong soup and pad Thai The soup was terrible. It barely had any spice to it. It was almost like slurping water. Flavor profile is off. The Pad Thai was mediocre at best. Again, not enough spice. They did not ask us how spicy we wanted it. I felt like the cook may not be Thai.
This is the kind of food we got. These are crab rangoons that are underfilled and over cooked x 3. I tried to call the restaurant to make things right and spoke to the person who answered the phone and the manager and the manager was surprisingly rude considering I just wanted them to make things right. Do not order from here as we never will again.
The food here is made fresh and it taste absolutely delicious! I can only handle a half star spice and they get it perfect every time!
The food was great prices are quite reasonable. The restaurant decor is very dated. The wait staff is quite attentive and ask a lot of questions to Makesure you are comfortable.
Love the curry here!
Great Thai food. Service could be better.
The best Thai place in town. I love you
Best Thai place in Chesapeake! They are double spicy so be careful! So good though!
My wife and I haven't had thai food this good since we were in Thailand last year! Enough said
I love Jasmine Thai.
Masman curry was so flavorful! Exceptional sticky rice!
Love this place, so tasty AND they give you a small spring roll with every order! I did get a wicked stomach ache when I got the panang curry with chicken, but it could have been it was too rich (fatty) for my stomach. It won't stop me from trying other food, I think this small, clean little space is way better than ones I've tried in Norfolk lately.
I order the same thing here every time and get 2 extra dishes for leftovers. If you order to go, you get free dishwasher/ microwave safe, stackable tupperware. We have a pile of these now! I love the fried rice, and wife loves the curry. Prices are moderate for takeout.
This is a very awesome place to eat not only does it have wonderful food for the family that runs the place are wonderful people. Their Pad Thai is on point! I watched a little old lady and roll all the spring rolls. Definitely recommend this place. You don't get that kind of service anywhere.
Best Thai food in Virginia
Huge portions for a great price!
One of my favorite Thai places. I love all the flavors in everything I have tried here. The ladies are always friendly and offer great service. My husband loves really spicy food and they did not disappoint. I eat here every time my job brings me to the area.
Nice lunch. Not flashy, but good food
Food was pretty good. My chicken fried rice was a little more browned or burnt than I like, but not inedible. My friend hated the coconut milk soup but I think it was more of a preference thing. But the owner argued with us about taking the coconut soup off the ticket for over 10 mins. Only to eventually take it off. Bad customer service, but pretty good food. Might try again...
Real tasty and seasoned food and you get a LOT of food!
Best Thai food I have had in the local area. Wonderful friendly service. Food is cooked to order, spicy and flavorful. 10 our 10 would recommend!
The food is so good. I visit quite often and have yet to be disappointed. Customer service is excellent. I recommend #2-Jasmine spring rolls, #17, #33, and the thai iced tea!!
I love getting take out from here. The PAD KAPAU is amazing! I love the Thai basil flavor. I love spicy food, but be warned 5 star "Thai spicy" is legitimately spicy... It was almost too much for me to eat, almost... I've found that 4 star spicy is perfect. Eating in? I wish they had a better beverage selection, but the food is worth it, and the ladies are always super nice and helpful. Overall, it's on my top two favorite Thai food restaurants.
A 'best kept secret' kind of place. It helps that this is an award winning restaurant. My wife and I have been here a number of times since they opened and have NEVER left disappointed. Look--if you want fancy, go somewhere else. If you want delicious, authentic, moderately priced, made to order, soul-satisfying Thai food, come here. You, too, won't be disappointed.
Great spot! Very impressed!!
The pad Thai here is sooooo spicy, and it is not marked as a spicy dish on the menu
