Casual, BYOB eatery serving curries, rice dishes & noodle soups in a vibrant, contemporary space.
The food is SO delicious and the restaurant is quaint and homey. The restaurant is located in conjunction with a mini mart of Asian groceries. You order at the counter and then sit to eat. All the dishes I ordered were delightful, flavorful and fresh. I got the cucumber salad, fresh spring rolls, and chicken pad Thai. I will definitely be back. Thank you.
The food is delicious!! I got red curry and loved it! The place is small for dine in and it was hard to get a waiter because it is also a store but they were very nice!
They have the best thai food, friendly owners and helpful staff!! This is not only my favorite place for authentic thai food anywhere in the area (including Austin) but is one of the best restaurants I've been to in ages. I can't recommend this place enough!!
This is great local Asian market / Thai restaurant combo. I find my Thai ingredients there at reasonable price. Don’t expect to be as big as H-mart. I love all Thai dishes there. They are very authentic. The crazy fish ball is a must try. People who work there are very friendly and have great service mindset.
This place rocks!! The food is awesome and the price is better than most Thai places around. The only thing i would say is to order through the phone if you are in a rush but at the end of the day it's so worth it.
The best Thai food in between San Antonio and Austin. From curries and noodle dishes to soups and egg rolls. Everything is delicious and they aren’t afraid to bring the heat. There is an Asian groceries in addition to the cute restaurant. There is limited seating inside but you can always order take-out. My only wish is that they had later hours. Enjoy!
This place is amazing the food is good and the customer service it's even better very chill people and environment check out their lunch specials it's really good...

Best Thai food in San Marcos by a long shot
They have the best thai food, friendly owners and helpful staff!! This is not only my favorite place for authentic thai food anywhere in the area (including Austin) but is one of the best restaurants I've been to in ages. I can't recommend this place enough!!
This is hands down the best Thai food I've come across. Very nice staff. Recommend the massaman curry.

Super cute little shop. I didn’t knew San Marcos had a place like this. Red curry was bomb, it made my whole day so much better.
Some of the best Thai food. Flavorful, spicy, fresh and family owned. I will always support this small business.
We had a lovely time trying this place with my father today and my i will say the food taste soooo good a fresh . My husband and I will definitely make this our go to spot for Thai food 🤤

Hole in the wall Thai has good and tasty dishes. Service was stoic and not friendly at all.
Cashier was also not welcoming.
The masaman curry was amazing
Flavorful food! Will be back!

What a wonderful surprise of market and restaurant. Love this unique place! will be back!!
San Marcos hidden gem. This place is awesome. It doesn’t look like much but it definitely delivers on the food! M would recommend to anyone in the San Marcos area looking for good Thai food.
Food is so amazing, The Tom Kha is SPECTACULAR!!! The pad thai is like no other i’ve ever had before. The yellow curry is quite spicy (i’m very white so take my spice tolerance with a grain of salt) but still amazing. It’s also nice to poke around and shop while your food is cooking. They don’t take American Express though but other than that no complaints! My favorite thai place for sure
This place is amazing! Best Thai food in town! This is our 2nd time this week getting take out from here. Definitely will be adding this restaurant into rotation when we aren't wanting to cook at home. I highly recommend the pineapple curry!
My red curry was delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. The grocery has a pretty good variety of asian ingredients. Lots and lots of Raman choices. Asian drinks and quick sweet treats aplenty.
Can't speak to the noodle dishes (never had them) but the curry dishes (especially the red and green), fried rice, fried pork egg rolls and steamed pork wontons are always delicious. And, they're not afraid to bring the heat with the curry. Extremely friendly service. Ingredients always look and taste fresh. Also, it's a little Asian market which is fantastic. If any of you cook or are considering attempting Asian dishes, should really consider dropping by and taking a look around. Prik Nam Pla is one of San Marcos' best food gems.
Definitely favorite restaurant in San Marcos
We always get the Thai pineapple fried rice with pork and an order of the green and red or red pineapple curry. Pour the curry sauce over the pineapple fried rice, literally to die for. Also always order 2 orders of
The mango sticky rice. So good.
Also the grocery part has items you cannot find at H‑E‑B..buy the magnolia young coconut ice cream in the freezer section and they always have all the buldak ramen in stock.
I can’t forget the streamed buns they make
Try the taro buns and the sweet bbq pork. A delicious snack
Everyone enjoyed the food. We tried the coconut, red, and pineapple curry.
Hands down, my favorite restaurant in town. I've been a regular here for years and send everyone I know here. This is the only place that has never disappointed. Great family and delicious food.
Just plain fun grocery with great Thai kitchen. Can't go wrong on anything on the menu. Like healthy? Lot of choices - my "regular" the steamed vegetables with rice. Coconut soup with chicken going to try next visit, high marks by a fellow diner.
Hidden gem in San Marcos. If you are ever at the outlet mall and looking for a Thai place to eat this is it! Authentic tasty flavors absolutely delicious- we tried and loved the green curry, pad Thai, fried rice and Tom yum soup!!
Prices on website are not true. Food is bland. Not like traditional Thai
Amazing food. The best hole in the wall Thai place by a Thai family, most of whom don’t speak English. Market looks very good as well…so glad I stopped in here on a whim.
Great food, good service, don't get in a hurry this is not fast food. Always worth the wait.
Great food and decently priced
Solid, reliable and very tasty.
Support local business! Great mom and pop Thai dive.
Restaurant in a thai store which is fine. They did not have steamed or soft tofu. Not my favorite restaurant.
Ordered summer rolls, they were very tasty and freshly made. Very authentic as well!
The place is great, the food is awesome. The won tons are pretty popular.
It was super good food and the customer service was great. It was good and quick food. Also has a store with a lot of products would definitely go back.
Amazing.
Best Thai in the tri city area, more authentic than any chain, if you've been to Thailand this brings you right back
Get some good Thai food in a "peculiar" setting for most American restaurants: an Asian grocery store.
There's only seating for about 18 people, so you'll never feel like sardines packed in a can. And you're supporting a small, immigrant-derived business.
This is not a restaurant. It's a grocery store with a few tables. The man taking orders was not very friendly. I think he got offended when I asked if I can choose less heat for a particular dish. He said he will not change anything on the menu. So I just stayed safe by ordering fried rice. Can't go wrong there. Food was brought to me, laid on the table and he walked away without saying a word. I have to admit, it was the best fried rice I ever had in my life and I order it often, but the lack of people skills here was overwhelming. I dreaded asking for a to-go box. In the end I will still give 5 stars because the food was so so so good.
Best thai food. Taste just like home ❤️❤️
Prik is a good name for the service and food. Not friendly, very rude, overpriced and the food was not good at all. I’ll take my business to other Thai restaurants take a little more time to drive to a different restaurant and save yourself the wasted time it was not worth it at all. 0 stars I’ve had delicious Thai food and this was not at all what I was expecting. Horrible experience and food.
Delicious Thai Restaurant and Market.
One of the best pad thais I’ve ever had, will definitely be back again!
Hole in the wall restaurant but very delicious and authentic. Good food. Small market inside as well.
Foods the best, i bought some asian spice and meal and most of them were affordable
Grocery and restaurant. Excellent service.
The REAL
Small little shop and store, food was amazing!!!!!!! So good, don't let your first impression fool you. Wonderful food!!!
The restaurant part serves great Thai food at equally great prices. The ambience is 100% hole-in-the-wall, which I always find appealing in a world increasingly overtaken by chains giving the same bland experience.
The shop part has a good selection for its size. It, not surprisingly, leans heavily towards Thai but there are selections from a variety of Asian cultures like Korean, Vietnamese, and Japanese. Any place that keeps me from having to fight the parking lot that is I35 to North Austin gets a big thumbs up from me.
Overall San Marcos is blessed to have this place.
Best Pad Thai in town! I ate it so fast I didn’t get a chance to take a picture. I also recommend the Rangoons. YUMMY
Amazing food
Really good food!
ร้านอาหารไทยแท้ ๆ ร้านเดียวในละแวกปักษ์ใต้ออสติน เพราะส่วนใหญ่คนไทยจะอยู่ทางออสตินเหนือจ้าววววววว
Bento box was very good, as was hot and sour soup.
First time going. Got the pad thai with beef so lame and tasted cheap... and it was twelve dollars..... never going back... I really miss my old Thai thai
Soooo good and just the right amount of food and spice 😋 the panaang curry was absolutely delicious
You could not ask for a better local restaurant!
We've been eating here for years, and the food has always been consistently good. It is a true family run restaurant, and you can tell that they take pride in the food that they make. My family loves curry, and even my parents from Houston agree that this is the best. You also can't go wrong with any of their rice or noodle dishes!
Our friends and family have all been introduced to Prik Nam Pla and often request it when they come to visit. It's so popular in our circle that in a 9 day period my parents wanted us to order it, then a friend came to visit a few days later and ordered it, and then my wife's parents came to visit the following weekend and ordered it.
Today I went to pick up some lunch and left my food at the counter (no caffeine brain fog). John came running after me as I was pulling out of the parking lot to hand me my food.
Great people!
Great food!
The market has an amazing selection of hard to find food items!
Excellent food, good selection, fresh ingredients. My only issue is that I like really hot Thai food, and their cooking style doesn't really lend itself to that. Their Tom Yum soup, however, is not to be missed! Delicious! Also, they have a little mini-mart inside which offers a really cool selection of both food and non food items. Foods range from teas and soups to sauces, noodles, seaweed wraps, etc Clothing is also on hand and includes some of the coolest shirts and most comfortable pants for summer. Highly of you browse while you wait!
First time trying the eggplant entree and it was sooo delicious!!!! Best eggplant dish I’ve had since I’ve been out here!
Best Thai food in San Marcos! Get the Pad Thai or green curry with chicken. They also have a cute little shop with goodies. I love the sesame salad dressing, octopus chewy snacks and little packaged soups. Great food! I’ve been back many times.
Had some food from here for the first time today, and it was amazing. Very authentic place. I wish I could have the mango and coconut sticky rice dessert every day, it’s wonderful
great red curry, authentic Thai food and grocery
No pics because I ate it all. Had a banana pancake, porridge, wontons and fish cakes. 1st time having porridge and it was everything I hoped it would be. Dont know what they call the banana pancake but it was to die for. I dont even like bananas . I need a nap. Im full and happy and sleepy. G'night.
The egg rolls are so yummy along with everything on the menu!
love this place, amazing food!!
Just ordered food here for the first time today and it was truly amazing, the flavors were bold but yet not overwhelming, the spices were blended well with everything else in the Kao Soy Soup and the vegetables were fresh and plentiful. Everything was balanced so well. Thank you for my first taste of Thai food, I will definitely be coming back.
Great food!
Definitely a steal if they create a good dining space.
Always good
Best place in town to buy rice
Worst Pad Thai I’ve ever eaten.
Sweet and gooey spaghetti noodles. Could barely taste peanuts.
Tom Kha and Yellow Curry also too sweet.
Ridiculous price- &10.99- for smallish bowl of Tom Kha as an entree.
The Best Shrimp Pad Thai in San Marcos that I have found. The Spring rolls are great also.
This is my favorite spot! I love Thai food and this place never disappoints. The owners are also very kind and friendly. Being able to pick up groceries staples is such a plus! 10/10
Always the best service and food!🍲🥟❤
Best Thai food in San Marcos. John and his wife run a great show. Super quality food, and a great market as well.
Good service
Best thai food I've had since I went to Dallas.
The chicken pad Thai is amazing!
My Thai wife and I have dined here for over a year. One word completely sums up the quality of Thai food you get here, “Authentic!” Super fresh ingredients, generous portions, reasonable prices, and friendly people make this about the best place to have great Thai food outside of Thailand!
Excellent food! The service is usually a bit slow because of the small number of staff, however they are always working hard. You may have to wait a bit for your food, but it's worth it.
Pho soup was different but good. Service was prompt and food came out hot and flavorful. We were visiting from out of town, so we were not up-to-date with the latest Covid rules & regulations. Extra effort was made to accommodate or request. That was greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Pretty good Thai food! Pictured is the pad prik gaeng (left) and shrimp basil fried rice. Both excellent. We've also had pad Thai, Tom kha soup, and pad woon sen.
As an aside the way the market selection is surprisingly robust for the size. The times I've gone in for select Asian ingredients they've had it including dried shitake, kelp, and golden mountain sauce.
The Tom Ka soup was much better than average. I like it with soft tofu but they said they could only do fried tofu. No other Thai place has ever told me they couldn't do this. Fried tofu is extra work for them and turns delicious soft tofu into inedible sponges. Their stir fried veggies were worse than average. I was very disappointed overall
Good spicy soup that’s good for your soul as well as your sinus’s and the best omelet in town.
The ambience of the store brought a little piece of Thailand back to memory. Their selection of curries and sauces from the grocery was satisfying.
Ordered from the restaurant and the Khao Soi and the Massaman were delicious.
😂👌
John and his family are are great and the food is amazing.
Home made Thai. Legitness
I arrived on a Tuesday afternoon around 2pm. My order was immediately taken (and paid for) at the register and I was seated right away. No waiting. I ordered the Pad Thai w/Chicken with a side of steamed rice. The huge portion arrived in about 10 minutes, and both items appeared to be freshly prepared - steaming hot and flavorful. I particularly enjoyed the smoky, scorched flavor of the entree...a tell-tale sign of authentic wok cooking. A no-frills yet excellent first time experience. I'll definitely be back!
The guy at the front always seems to have an attitude but, other than that everything else is good.
Great food, good service. A bit of a wait and tight space for seating, so be ready to browse around the store while a table becomes available. The flavors are on point, homemade feel to some of the food. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR ATMOSPHERE, THIS PLACE ISN'T FOR YOU. HOWEVER, if you're looking for flavor, and don't mind being a little patient, this is a great place to eat. Take out is a great option. Don't pass this place up!
Really authentic Thai Cuisine, enjoy their soups specially.
Restaurant is inside a market. Not great for eating in but food is great so carry out is an awesome option. Market has a few neat clothing pieces available as well as food.
Haven't eaten there yet but drop by occasionally to pick up some oddball groceries. They carry miso, asian mushrooms, mochi ice cream, snacks, the occasional asian fruits and veggies (would be nice if the got fruit more often)
Love this place they have everything I need to make my Asian and Chinese food and their food there is delicious the Pad Thai is to die for....
Great place for lunch...
Fresh tasty Thai dishes that for me at least are all unique.
Called in an order 30 minutes before going to the restaurant, and then waited an addition hour before I received my food. 1.5 hours for 2 dishes is a terrible wait.
Great food! Try the curry and rice!!!
Best Thai food in town and the market has awesome snacks!
Best place for Thai food in San Marcos.
I love curry. And they have the best yellow curry I've ever had!
My favorite thai restaurant in all of San Marcos! Such flavor! They really know how it's done here. Amazing food and reasonable prices!
This place always hits the spot great food
They have LIFE CHANGING curry here. The red curry is the spiciest, followed by the green (though it is almost just as spicy as the red), followed by the yellow. All are good options, and the spicy levels range from 5/10 - 7/10. The three curries do have different ingredients, so pick the one that sounds most appealing to you.
They have other good dishes, but the curry is the best here. And, yes, even better than Thai Thai in town. The cook is an elderly gentleman who does not speak English. The woman does, and she is the creator of the curry recipe. We offered her $300 for the recipe, but she said no. I don’t blame her. I don’t believe there is WiFi; I might be wrong because every time I go I’m too busy enjoying the company of my wife and the amazing curry.
The customer service is decent. There are only 4-5 tables, so call ahead if you want to make sure you get a seat...they will reserve one for you. And the curry takes about 30-45 mins to prepare, but not if you call ahead. After your meal, I recommend trying their mochi ice cream!
Pretty good. Reminded me of my time over in the Western Pacific. This is a little Asian grocery, just like I would find over there with a kitchen, very polite people, and good food. I loved it then and I still do. Very authentic, and welcome. My lady friend is vegetarian. I tried to tell her, but she didn't realise all the dishes start as non-meat, so she had a salad. Maybe next time.
So, we went a 2nd time. I really like their food. So did my vegetarian girlfriend. This time she tried a curry dish with tofu. I'm jacking their rating to a five. It is very much deserved. My ginger stir fry was also excellent.
The curry is to die for I absolutely love this store and restaurant definitely recommend !
Some of the best Thai food I've had in San Marcos and greater Austin. There's only one chef so the service may be slow, but it's well worth the wait.
Thai pad was very good taste as flavor love it
Yummo
Excellent authentic Thai cuisine. I love the Kao Soi and their Green Curry. And their little grocery store is awesome, so many hard to find Asian ingredients!
Nice mom and pop store I'm enjoying everything I bought there they also have a few tables and they serve fresh hot plates I didn't eat there but the food smells good
This is my favorite Thai place in San Marcos. I strongly recommend that you call ahead and place your order since they always seem busy. If you do happen to choose this place on the fly, they have a fun market that you can explore while you wait. I recommend grabbing a Thai tea from the fridge next to the register to complete any meal from here.
Food was pretty good. Location was small, and not super comfortable as a sit down eatery. But, they also had thai groceries. I feel it is possible that this is more or less a traditional, non americanized thai restaurant. We will return and enjoy again.
Amazing food
Love to eat at this location. It is small and intimate. You can order delicious food and shop while your food is being cooked. I always find something great to buy walking down the aisles whether its drink I've never tried before, a sweet dessert or beautiful authentic clothes.
Had the green curry and asked for extra spicey. It was fantastic!
Always good eat there at least once a week my favorite restaurant it's about time we get decent food in this town that don't have college kids working there
Our waiter accidentally gave us an extra meal. Super cool of them until they came and took it away and SERVED IT TO A CUSTOMER BEHIND US. Very disgusted by this place
Their food is tasty though the man in the front is not so friendly.
Great Thai food but also the only Asian grocery in town. The people are very friendly and helpful. San Marcos is lucky to have them.
Amazing food every time!
Fast take out and flavor is on point.
Generous portions, delicious food, great prices! The market is a lot of fun, too.
