Diner Review №12

Delicious Thai food, generous servings, authentic taste. Waited longer than expected for take out. Dining room is small and simple.

Diner Review №13

The pad thai was great but there was a hair in my dessert.

Diner Review №14

Очень вкусно, соскучился по родной еде. Процветания заведению!!!

Diner Review №15

Too slow, too greasy, too small portion for the price. Not worth for my money! Especially, my food was cold.

Diner Review №16

Mind blowing food and wonderful service. The Thai tea has the right level of sweetness and the steak like salad was a party in our mouths. Mango sticky rice was also off the charts. Can’t wait to return!

Diner Review №17

Usually pick up food from here but decided to actually dine in this time and it will be my first and last time. The service was nonexistent. They weren’t welcoming or friendly at all and to think these are your own people….The server was on his phone the entire time and never even bothered to refill my milk tea which I actually enjoyed and emptied. And I know they give refills cause I literally saw him refilling other people’s from the pitcher earlier. The food is pretty good (both from the Thai and Mongolian menu), but it’s not worth coming back for especially to have lackluster service.

Went there to get some khuushuur or tsuivan, but none of them available at 11:06 am Sep10, 2024

Honestly I wish the portion size would be larger for the price . Food is good.

Go to a real Thai restaurant. This place isn’t that great. It may be convenient, but you can do better.

Update 7/28: I stopped in to place a take out order and reference the sign outside that says free spring rolls with my order of drunken noodles.
I was told no. Dine in only, after I paid.
I showed a picture of the sign to the person working and he was condescending and arrogant.

Placed an order for delivery and part of it was missing. When I called they told me they were out of the missing item and I could “have a refund if it want”. Call me crazy, but shouldn’t I have been told it was unavailable and OFFERED a refund or substitute up front? Seems like poor customer service to try to just sweep it under the rug and hope I wouldn’t notice. Strike 2.

First thing first, stop the bad business practice of charging more than the menu price. Just charged me 3 dollars more on each item and when I asked they told me the prices have changed. If prices have changed then change the menu!! Food is good but a bad experience.

Diner Review №42

Everything we ordered was really tasty and fresh. Very recommended.

Diner Review №43

Loved the Vegetarian/Tofu panang curry and the cabbage/carrot salad I had for dinner at this place. Their home made chilli flakes was simply out of the world. They were really accommodative when I went to their restaurant at closing time, and still offered great service, allowed me to dine in and waited till I completed my dinner. Would definitely visit this restaurant when I am back in Arlington in the future.

Real good food

Diner Review №46

BEWARE Price to pay for take out.
We used ChowNow linked to Google map and ordered food for take out. Once at the restaurant we realized that the price of the same dish was cheaper than what we paid online. For example, the Buuz steamed dumpling was $15 on menu but we paid $20 online for take out. $2.5 per dumpling instead of $1.87
Basically ended up paying up 30 percent or more for take-out than eating in! We asked the lady in the store about the price difference and she just said that prices changed. Based on what? when?
The food would have tasted better without the bitterness.

Diner Review №47

Diner Review №48

I like their large fried dumpling with meat. I am not sure how they call them in the menu.

Diner Review №49

A good neighborhood Thai restaurant for both takeout and in-store dining, with several classic options across the menu.

--

After a long week, my significant other and I came here for a nice, simple dinner for two. We have ordered DoorDash from here a few times prior, and always had solid experiences, but never dined in before.

Most of the business they receive does appear to be takeout and delivery, and there were a lot of people coming in and out. There were still a few parties seated in the small eating area, both families and couples, and the tables and interior was certainly more than nice enough. Our service was friendly and prompt, and easy to get ahold of even though she was also running takeout orders.

While the menu was expansive, we kept it simple and ordered off the Thai menu. We had Chicken Spring Rolls for the table, and I ordered for myself Chicken Pad Thai and Spring Rolls (my significant other ordered Curry). The food came out fast. The Spring Rolls were first - they were very simple, yet good. The Pad Thai was a sizable portion, and was everything I needed and dreamed of after a long week. I would have ideally liked it to be a bit spicier and pack a bit more of a punch flavor wise, but I also knew what to expect ordering one of the more 'common' dishes on the menu.

Overall a very good experience, and a restaurant I am happy to continue to support both in person and for takeout. In the future, I would be very curious to try their Mongolian Menu, or the additional entrees off the Thai menu.

Diner Review №50

They have Really yummy 🤤 dishes! I like to get take outs from this place. “Kuushuur” dish is my favorite. It reminds me of our Ukrainian chebureki and oliv’e salad. I also like the service from the delivery guy! Five starts for him too!

Diner Review №51

Best Thai place in Rosslyn/Courthouse, hands down, and I’ll die on this hill. I’ve tried them all, Buzz Thai’s pad thai is just superior. I don’t usually leave reviews for food establishments, but I’ve been ordering from Buzz Thai for over two years now and have never had a problem that they didn’t fix immediately. Take out, delivery, it doesn’t matter. This is my budget friendly, quick and easy weeknight takeout/delivery go-to.

It has been somewhat difficult to find authentic Buuz and I love Buuz which is super tasty. A must try some day!

Diner Review №55

Diner Review №56

I ordered for delivery & to my luck I get a call 1 plus hr after order was processed to let me know that they don’t have drivers. Caveat, do not try your luck for delivery. Also, why offer delivery service if you don’t have the man power to do so? End of rant.

Diner Review №57

Diner Review №58

Mongolian food was raw. Prices on the menu were incorrect and charged me $2 extra on each item. It’s almost been a year, fix it. As a Mongolian I will not be returning.

Diner Review №59

Came on a recommendation, and ordered off the Mongolian menu. Had the fried flat during and the noodles. Delicious!

Diner Review №60

The one and only Authentic Mongolian food in the NoVa area that I know of. A must try for any meat lovers.

A simple, small and clean, modern thai restaurant with a good variety of dishes and great flavors. We tried two types of curry and they had an elegant flavor and presentation. Excellent prices and fast service.

Diner Review №64

Authentic Mongolian food, my friends and I like to visit here when we have a chance. Make sure to ask Mongolian menu

Diner Review №65

This place is a gem. I love their Mongolian beef veggie soup and stir fry beef noodle. Buuz has great flavor and large portion. I highly recommend!

Diner Review №70

I eat out at Thai restaurants in Arlington alot. Buuz Thai was by far my least favorite. I decided to try it out as I saw the place on my walk. I ordered (carry out) appetizers, chicken wings and calamari. The wings were not crispy but drenched in sauce and soggy. But the worst part was not the sauce but the chicken itself which tasted old and stale and smelled. Even my companion could not eat it after one bite. I tried 2 pieces but had to throw out the rest. It was not delectable at all. The calamari was just ok. I will not be back. This ruined it by serving bad almost spoiled old chicken.

Diner Review №71

Good pad thai

Diner Review №72

Service was good. Family-owned business. We ordered steamed pork jiaozi and spring rolls for appetizers, both were excellent. Fried tofu Pad Thai was good but not authentic Thai food. I would describe it as Chinese style stir fry with rice noodles and Thai chili sauce. There was little to no vegetables, which I really missed. My partner ordered Fried rice and maybe it was an off day but it wasn’t fully cooked all the way, it looked pale, very wet and was bland tasting. We asked to have it cooked a little more and it was returned looking better, and taste was improved by adding spices, mostly pepper. I’m a foodie and overall it was an okay experience. The location is convenient to my area, but food seemed to be just a step above Chinese fast food.

I can't help but rave about this place—it's truly amazing! The food is absolutely delicious, and they offer a wide range of options to choose from, including Thai and Mongolian cuisine. Not only is the food exceptional, but the staff is also incredibly friendly. Their warm and welcoming demeanor adds to the overall positive experience at this place 🤩 great job

Best Mongolian place in DC

Diner Review №78

This is the best food around hands down. I can’t speak to atmosphere I do delivery. I order from here so frequently they are definitely sick of coming to my apartment, sometimes 3x a week! Every pad Thai I’ve had after Buuz just isn’t as good, I don’t know if they use more tamarind or what but it’s amazing. Great price, quick delivery, awesome food! Thank you, Buuz Thai!!

Diner Review №83

Had fried calamari, fried tofu, and the drunken noodles with beef. Everything was cooked well and seasoned well, too. I kept seeing other people get these large dumplings, which looked like empanadas, and I missed out on ordering them as they looked really good, we'll have to remember for next time.

One of the best Mongolian dish you can find it here. Always welcoming atmosphere, friendly stuff. Happy to be live near by.

Diner Review №87

Outdated menu prices. Food was good but upfront information and service could be better.

Diner Review №88

I have been knowing this place over 4, 5 years. People who wrote bad reviews- seems like most of them are their own issue, trying to find some ISSUE then they just got "angry" just because of tiny little problem and use that reason for their own life stress out tool.

This place is keep on cooking EXCELLENT TASTE AS SAME AS THE FIRST TIME! Same quality same taste all the time!!! And best the one I would say ( in between Mongolian food places all over US) their Khuushuur ( fried mega dumpling) is ... what should I say? No word to express that great taste! Dont believe me? Go try it by yourself!

I dont know these people, they are not my friends but just... I am a fan!

Ordered through ChowNow for delivery. I know I ordered for delivery since I had to input my delivery address. I tipped since it was a delivery order. However, the restaurant changed my order to pickup without telling me. Since I had already paid for my order, I drove to the restaurant to pick it up. I ordered drunken noodles and did not receive the free spring rolls with my noodles as advertised in front of the restaurant. I requested to be refunded for my tip since my order was not delivered like expected. The restaurant has yet to answer any calls or emails from ChowNow regarding this matter. Completely unprofessional. ChowNow cannot refund my tip without authorization from the restaurant. The restaurant has been avoiding all the calls and e-mails.

Diner Review №91

Had a great service. Very customer oriented.

Diner Review №92

Truly a magical place to enjoy authentic Thai and Mongolian food. The taste is as real as it gets for the foodies and same alike. The aura of the place is warm and welcoming and the staff and the people are always friendly and professional. As one would wonder, the experiences between people are best shared over great meals and this place has it all. Bring your friends and bring your family to have a wonderful time to pass the time. We will be back for again and again. Thank you.

Diner Review №93

Food was okay-ish! Not wow compared to other Thai places I have tried for the same price. Also, I don't think this is the place to go for a dine-in as you won't be even asked for water once you sit down. For my dish, I had provided some instructions which were not followed, not even brought up when I got the order. Overall below average.

Got their food by takeout, it was lack luster. I’m half Thai/Laos and I know what sauces come with beef jerky and sticky rice and they didn’t even include it. Their other dishes also were lacking in flavor. Don’t come here it’s not authentic or flavorful.

Diner Review №99

The only Mongolian food you’ll find in DMV area. Food is TOP NOTCH! As a buryat, their food made me feel like it took me to Mongolia or to my home town - Ulan-Ude. Servers are gorgeous Mongolian ladies with incredible attitude. I had “Guliash” which is beef-stew with mashed potatoes and also had “Khuushuur”-deep fried dough filled with minced beef, and they tasted simply amazing. Once again, thank you for your amazing food and I’ll be coming more frequently for your delicious foods and services.

I ordered 3 meals. They only served 2 meals. And we never got 3rd meals during whole time. We said we will take out the last meal. But they never gave us. Then we thought it cancelled. After two days, i saw transaction which charged 3 meals. I called them to take the 3rd meal. They responded so so so rude and un respectful. They said come and watch camera, then take your food. Also, she said that we never do such a things and hang up without finish my word. So so so rude

If you're looking for a taste of authentic Mongolian cuisine, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The vibe might be on the smaller side, but it's clean and comfortable, providing a cozy atmosphere for your meal. The food is undeniably the standout feature here - delicious and bursting with flavors that transport you straight to Mongolia. Overall, if you're a fan of Mongolian cuisine or just looking for something new and exciting to try, this spot is a must-visit.

Tip: It's a little chilly inside, so make sure to wear layers.

Diner Review №117

Happy to discover this restaurant by Wilson near Rhodeside and Oasis Nail Salon. Just found out from the owner they've been in business for 7 years! It was recently recommended by someone who was Mongolian so I had to try it.

We ordered the Bantan - Bone broth ( known for centuries to have many health benefits and healing properties) Porridge and Buuz dumplings. The porridge was super flavorful (no salty taste) and had lots of fresh thinly sliced beef. Perfect for a cold day or to nurse a cold.

The famous beef dumplings -Buuz were fresh and very tasty. The order takes 20 minutes as it's made fresh. I asked for chili and got a wonderful chilli paste to go with it. The lightly pickled vegetables were perfect pairing with the dumplings.

Everything was cooked fresh like home style. Will definitely come back again to try the Thai dishes which looked amazing.

Diner Review №118

Would highly recommend their Mongolian dishes, stews are great!

Diner Review №119

I’ve ordered from Buuz Thai for the past two years and for the most part it has always been delivery - the past couple orders I received from the location have been very bland in taste, not sure if there’s a new cook but my meals have not been flavorful as they have in the past, this is probably the third order and it’s just as bland (Thai Basil Rice) and chicken satay..I’ve concluded that I’ll no longer be ordering from Buuz no longer for my Thai cuisine take out.

Diner Review №125

With pretty decent food with familiar Thai flavors, solid service, and a vibrant ambiance, Buuz Thai Eatery is a good, safe choice for a casual lunch. I came here with a group of six one Sunday afternoon in July; we had just left church and were struggling to find a place to eat. We stumbled upon Buuz around 2 PM and decided we might as well give it a shot -- you can never really go too wrong with Thai food, and the restaurant was pretty empty that late into the afternoon so we anticipated being able to get to our meal pretty quickly.

Our predictions were a bit off -- despite being the only party in the restaurant (aside from a smattering of take-out orders that came in throughout our meal), the service was quite slow. In all fairness, our party was on the larger side, so some delays are to be expected. We ended up getting our food ~30 minutes after placing our orders.

Buuz's menu was pretty standard, with all of the Thai classics. I eventually settled on their tofu pad see ew, one of my favorites at any Thai restaurant. Their noodles were perfectly cooked, retaining their wonderfully springy texture while still being soft and just all-around comfort in a bowl. The broccoli was also delightful, retaining the slightest bit of crunch. I'm honestly disappointed they didn't add a few extra florets of broccoli in with the noodles! And the tofu was crispy on the outside but soft and pillowy in the center. The tofu, being the absolute sponge of an ingredient that it is, soaked up all of the super flavorful stir-fry sauce (and the rest got absorbed by the noodles). This is normally super exciting -- after all, who doesn't love a good flavor bomb -- but was, strangely, one of the biggest downsides of Buuz's pad see ew. The dish was extremely salty, which was a bit of a disappointment to an otherwise near-perfect dish. I ended up drinking two or three full glasses of water with the half plate of pad see ew I ate that day, and still felt a bit overly salinated. Even so, a little bit of extra hydration has never hurt anyone and the dish was otherwise solid.

Beyond the service and the food, I also appreciated Buuz's design and atmosphere. The walls were vibrant orange and yellow, and the no-frills decor was simple but cute. The color combination and decorations they did include made the entire restaurant feel warm and welcoming, and the perfect place to fill my belly with comforting, delicious Thai food.

Diner Review №133

Ordered to go, pickup through door dash. I got pork dumplings and the Pad Thai. The dumplings were outstanding, the flavor was great and they were pan fried exactly how I would like them to be. But the Pad thai was severely lacking in flavor. Was it bad? No but it's definitely missing something. There was no chili paste or spice whatsoever. Although I didn't see an option to add it via door dash.
Either way. It should still taste like something.

Diner Review №134

love all the veggie selections and sauces! tofu is cooked perfectly

Buuz thai never fails to impress. If you are in DMV area and wanna experience some legit authentic Mongolian food, this is da place to go. Thumbs up!

Diner Review №140

Pretty good Thai food, love that the larb is spicy. But service was extremely slow and the food wasn't ready at pickup time, so I would recommend ordering much earlier.

Diner Review №141

My friends and I decided to check out Buuz for dinner. After looking at the menu, we really couldn't decide what to eat so we decided to order a bunch of appetizers to share. The server recommended a number of the dumplings and we added in the deep fried green beans, curry puffs and the air-dried beef. One of my friends had the wonton soup also. My favorite were the Mongolian beef steamed dumplings. We all wanted to eat more but there was just no room left in our bellies. We were so happy! Definitely recommend!

Diner Review №142

Diner Review №143

I really enjoyed coming here! The Massamun curry was super flavorful and the crispy tofu with a sweet/spicy sauce was really good too. My boyfriend got a Thai tea that tasted like the ones I make at home, and it was clear it was made from brewed tea. Very excited for this to be so close to home!

This is the best Thai Restuant I been to. I enjoy the Thai food and Mongolian food. Unfortunately I witnessed an Uber driver who was mad at the staff for giving him the wrong order. Food tastes great. There's plenty of Thai restaurants around, but this is the only place I've seen that features a Mongolian menu. Excellent service and great hospitality, they gave me a free iced tea and refused taking any payment for it. Would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the mood for dumplings or noodles. The dessert and the tea's great too.

Diner Review №186

Pretty average Thai place, but the secret gem here is the small Mongolian menu which is prepared by a Mongolian chef. This is the only place with authentic Mongolian food in the DMV, apparently, and it's good! My favorite right now is the khuitsa. Friendly service.

Diner Review №187

Diner Review №188

Food was good but like some one pointed out, I had the similar experience with my date with the cold temperature inside the restaurant. Come on guys, keep the atmosphere warm!!

Diner Review №189

The food is pretty good if you ever get it or if it is the right order... Which is a serious gamble with this place. In the past few attempts they've brazenly subbed in pork for veggie items, left out items entirely, or left their online ordering system up and running when they were, in fact, closed. I don't begrudge them being closed on a day with snow, but they left the online system to accept orders and payment they wouldn't fulfill, leaving folks to trudge in said snow to their storefront (because they also don't have their calls forwarded so the phone just rings) to verify that no one is there. Straight up poor service and no respect for their customers. Maybe eat in at their restaurant, but do NOT order delivery. It's seemingly beyond their capabilities.

edit: reducing this review from 2 stars because the food is good, even if the service is not - to one star. The earlier mentioned mess-up where they left the website working when the restaurant was closed didn't stop them from finalizing the charge and taking the money for an order that they never made - because they were closed. So not only did I have to walk over there to find out they were closed, they still took our money. Thievery on top of poor service earns a single star (zero stars if it was an option).

Diner Review №190

My date and I tried this place out for the first time last night and it was decent. I’m always honest and fair in my opinion on reviews but it was way too cold in the dining room for my date and I. Honestly, if we haven’t already ordered I would of left but I didn’t want to be rude. It was like 20 degrees outside and it was about 66 inside the restaurant. We both were basically cold for the whole experience. I would recommend you to get your food to go and not dine in during the winter. The food was good and tasty. It’s a mixture of Thai, Chinese and Mongolian my date told me. If the staff asks you for the different menu it’s the Mongolian dishes menu. We realized that too late and they have tasty dishes on that menu. Loved the healthy options section on the menu. Again, I would go back here but I get it to go. Good food and friendly staff with a clean restroom too.

Food was OK, but two things wrong with our Seamless order. They did offer cokes on the app, then called us back to say they didn’t have any sodas. Then when finally delivered, they forgot the egg rolls. That’s too much for 1 simple order…

Poor customer service. Delivery took significantly longer than promised and when we called to check on the status they were very unhelpful and hung up on us.

Drunken noodles were good but pineapple fried rice was bland. Both of us had a stomachache later in the night after eating the food.

There are so many Thai restaurants to choose from in the area, so I won’t be bothering to go to this one again.

Placed the order online at 4 for a 6pm delivery. 6:05 I called after the order was marked delivered. The meal was never made and they tried to tell me it would be another 45+ minutes.

Not worth the time or effort.
