Kumo Asian Bistro is a gem! The sushi is not only beautiful but also incredibly tasty, with fresh flavors in every bite. The service is top-notch—friendly and attentive staff made our experience even better. I highly recommend this spot for anyone craving delicious sushi in a welcoming atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!
This is clearly a long-established restaurant. Walking in, you can sense the atmosphere of an old eatery—it must have been beautifully decorated back in the day, but now it feels somewhat dated, with a dim and slightly greasy ambiance.
That said, the service and food are truly excellent.
We ordered sushi and sashimi, and the ingredients were very fresh. While the ingredients weren’t top-tier, they were impressive for a restaurant in this price range. The presentation was thoughtful, and the portions were generous. Overall, it offered great value for the price.
If you live nearby and enjoy Japanese cuisine, it’s a convenient option to order takeout and enjoy it at home.
My experience at Kumo Asian Bistro in Alexandria, Virginia, was nothing short of fantastic! This hidden gem is perfectly situated in a quaint location, making it a great spot for a memorable dining experience.
From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted, and the atmosphere was buzzing with energy, even on a Thursday night. The restaurant was full of patrons, which immediately gave a lively and welcoming vibe. The ambiance is comfortable and inviting, with a sushi bar featuring five skilled sushi chefs who were constantly busy crafting fresh, delicious sushi.
The food was outstanding! Each dish arrived with an amazing presentation, and the freshness and flavors were simply incredible. You could tell that a lot of care goes into every plate, making each bite a delight.
The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. A special shoutout to Andy, the owner, who made the experience even more special with his humble and welcoming demeanor. He personally ensured that every guest felt right at home and well taken care of.
Overall, it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Kumo Asian Bistro is definitely a place I will be returning to, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal and a welcoming atmosphere!
I feel like a real sushi restaurant must serve Uni, so a plus already for me. But Just compare to other unis I had, I would give this one Uni a 4 out of 5 stars for the test and price together.
Stuff is doing there job, nothing special. The rest of our food was great.
Overall good. 👍🏼
I have dined at this restaurant several times, and the food has consistently been good. Their sushi and sashimi are always fresh and tasty, and their rolls are delicious. I appreciate that this restaurant offers Japanese food and Chinese and Thai dishes. The excellent service is dependable, and the clean and tidy atmosphere makes it an ideal place to enjoy our favorite Asian dishes in one location.
Old school chinese and korean
We love this place.
Best sushi in Alexandria!
What happened? The food has gone down hill big time. Beef very chewy. Spring rolls taste like old oil. Soup has no flavor. We used to love the food here. We might, MIGHT give them one more chance. Maybe.
Came in for Lunch Special! All I ordered was gen tsos white meat and a bento chicken box. (Im currently here as i'm writing this) So far i've waited 35 min for my order (and counting). I asked for a manager because now i've missed my entire lunch and there's no manager around? I obviously have to get back to work but i also can't just leave the food since ive already paid. I was told the white meat was the reason for the holdup, but if thats the case it would've nice to inform me of that from the beginning. i wouldn't have ordered white meat had i known that.
I didn't order ahead because it was my first time and I wanted to check out the place before ordering. This was a horrible horrible experience. 0 star rating
Kumo Asian Bistro is a gem! The sushi is not only beautiful but also incredibly tasty, with fresh flavors in every bite. Classic Kumo. Always good. Thai Spicy Roll is my go-to
Food was great; Curry Chicken was delicious. Servers were attentive.
It reminded me a lot of Asian restaurants I used to go to in NJ/NY State. Food was excellent and so was the service. My husband very much enjoyed his sushi and I was able to have fried rice made with gluten free soy sauce. The hot Sake was excellent too. Overall, we very much enjoyed our evening here
This place is a favorite. It’s perfect, and consistent, every time. All of the servers work fast, and work together so you’re never waiting for anything. they are all polite and friendly. I usually get the hibachi plate, which comes with miso soup and salad, and sometimes sushi. It’s just delicious and a frequent place for dinner. Love it
Overall 100/10
Literally the worst service. I’ve eaten here at least 10x and never had a problem and today all the servers decided to have an attitude. They also charged extra for food they’ve never charged extra for in the past. Will go to the million other better places in the area.
Best of the best in the area! We absolutely love this restaurant and travel almost an hour to visit! The service is impeccable - so polite and friendly! The food is amazing. We love their dishes and their sushi. We enjoy Kumo so much we decided to do our Christmas family dinner here via reservation and of course Kumo did not disappoint!
Excellent service and quality of food. My family ordered different dishes here and everything was delicious. Quantity is also plentiful. We’ve been customers here since it opened 15 years ago and the quality is still outstanding.
Have been there twice and service as well as food has been phenomenal. Recommendations have been really good, making us want to go back and see what else they recommend. Both times were for birthdays, they made it special and were very accommodating. Smaller restaurant, but they really make it work, especially with larger groups
Went here with my family for my moms birthday. AMAZING!!!
Absolutely phenomenal! The sushi & hospitality from the entire staff is exceptional. Thank you again To Bo & his crew for a wonderful evening. See you next time.!!

The restaurant was busy but had really good energy. The food was wonderful. I had the dragon hand roll and it was very very good. This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants. The staff at the restaurant is very courteous and friendly.
Kumo is our favorite Asian restaurant in the area. The food is good quality, fresh, and served hot (even delivery), and the service is fantastic. If they miss an item in your delivery (which is rare), they will send the driver back to you with it. The sushi options are incredible and the kitchen dishes are also plentiful and all delicious. I'm so happy we found this place and have been loyal customers now for many years.

I was not impressed with the sushi here. I got a takeout that was late, and the food was nothing special.
My name Arthit
Your restaurant is wonderful in every way.
Thank you thank you very much.
I've been going to Kumo for about six years now. One of the cleanest restaurants I've been to. They were one of the last places that only served for pick up way after covid was under control
I feel like a real sushi restaurant must serve Uni, so a plus already for me. But Just compare to other unis I had, I would give this one Uni a 4 out of 5 stars for the test and price together.

Kumo has been my go to for over a decade. Their fish has ALWAYS been fresh, the proportion of their sushi is always fantastic (not to much rice, well balanced etc), if something isn't on the menu they will make it, the sushi options are phenomenal! The entire menu is awesome but the sushi is the diamond.
The best sushi and hot tea in town.
I have been a frequent customer at this establishment. Service is friendly and prompt. I ordered “pick-up” for the first time. My order, which is usually quite light, was covered in copious amounts of “crunch”. Additionally, I opened my roll to find what does not appear to be crab meat. I’m not actually sure what it is. Surely, I was charged for a specialty roll and what was covered up, was certainly not actual crab meat. I am hesitant to finish the meal that I paid for. After a long weekend/week I was truly looking forward to treating myself to Kumo. I am unsure of whether or not I will return after this. If I can add a photo, I will. I just don’t think it’s right to spend hard earned money and be hoodwinked/deceived.
Loovve Kumo!
Chicken and broccoli is so good.
Just excellent!!! Fresh, Authentic, and Delicious!!! The service was impeccable!
I was very excited to go to Kumo for the first time. I was going to be in the area, so I checked out restaurants beforehand so I could treat myself for lunch. I ordered the crab rangoons, shrimp tempura roll, & mango sticky rice. I was really excited because I love Asian cuisine. I spent just under $35 and the reviews averaged 4.5, so I figured it would be really good, plus the restaurant and staff were very nice. My order was done early, too. I was all ready to enjoy it, but upon seeing the food I was a bit surprised, especially the mango sticky rice. I know every place does certain dishes differently, so I am alright with that. But the mango sticky rice appeared to be instant rice from a container because it was in the exact shape with the indentations and everything. That’s not the end of the world, but the mango was horrid. It was all unripe. I don’t mean kind of ripe- I mean 100% not anywhere near ripe AT ALL. The color caught my eye immediately, but I tried it, and I actually had to spit it out. I know mangoes are tough because getting them at the “right spot” in terms of ripeness takes practice, but this was actually inexcusable, and I rarely feel that way about food I’ve ordered. It takes a lot for me to spit something out. I am not even trying to be crude, I am not exaggerating either. I was extremely disappointed because I paid near $8 for that mango sticky rice and to get severely bitter and fibrous mango chunks cut into oddly tiny pieces with (what appeared to be) microwave rice pissed me off. The shrimp tempura roll was okay. But it was overpriced for what I got. The sushi at the grocery store is better. The crab rangoons saved this from being one star. The crab rangoons, I would actually genuinely recommend. They were awesome. They were large, fresh, crispy, and actually kinda fun to eat. They came with a sweet sauce that complimented them beautifully. The staff was kind, the restaurant looked clean and pleasant when I went in to get my food, and there was plenty of parking. Those aspects + the rangoons were the pros. The mango sticky rice was literally horrible. I’ve never had mango taste like that. Mango that is at least semi-ripe has more of a yellow-orange color. This mango was crunchy and bright, bright pale yellow. I kid you not. That’s what angers me- they had to know it was not at the right phase to serve it. But they did anyway and I think that sucks. Like genuinely. That is not right. Id rather them have told me they couldn’t make the dish. And it’s not mango season to be fair, but knowing that, a business should take seasonally inconvenient / difficult options off of the menu. I was sad because I went out of my comfort zone to try this new place and it was a waste. I respect others who had good food. That rocks! I believe it because the rangoons were great. But the price I paid vs what I got is heartbreaking.
Hands down the best sushi restaurant in NOVA! The quality is great, the prices are reasonable, and the presentation is phenomenal! The service is also great with the servers being attentive and kind
Such a fun place! We come often and are never disappointed. VERY quick service Andy great sushi and food. They made a whole scene for my husband’s birthday and it was so special. Highly recommend!!
Ordered this for delivery. I was hoping it was going to be good from the reviews. The sesame chicken and fried rice are the worst I’ve ever had. No flavor at all. Not even sure the rice qualified as fried rice. Tasted like bland white rice with no seasoning. The crab rangoons are average and spring rolls are edible. The only saving grace is the sushi is decent. Will never order from here again.
Our favorite local place for sushi and Asian food. The folks are nice and the food is reasonably priced.
Excelente lugar, me encanta el sushi
Great sushi and great service. The best in the DMV area.
Everything Ive had here so far, including sushi has been good.
Delicious sushi. This is a perfect treat for anytime. It's the best place for sushi in the area.
Fantastic service - friendly and fast. Presentation, especially on some of the sashimi dishes, is outstanding. It's not huge and can get crowded but, because service is quick, I've never seen too long of a wait. They do a big carry out business, too.
My wife, son, and I were here yesterday for an early dinner. I would would to state that our experience yesterday was outstanding!! Great service with a smile. Great food and clean tables and seats for the dinner setting. We will come here more often now since we live nearby. My family and I highly recoomend Kumo Asian Bistro.
Food was good, low salt for Chinese food.
Delicious food if your looking for something exciting that you don't get to enjoy every day.
Absolutely fabulous Sushi and other Asian food. Reasonable prices, casual dining. Sushi pieces consist of large fish cuts and smaller rice portions, just how it's supposed to be. I love the Sushi deluxe platter, and the Tempura shrimp entree we order as a shared appetizer. The specialty rolls are excellent and we try a different one on each visit, the red bull with the lobster and filet mignon is one of my favorites. Slightly spicy beed drunken noodles are excellent.
This was my 3rd visit to this sushi/Asian restaurant. Kumo Asian Bistro receives excellent reviews and is top 5 in the DMV as rated by a local magazine. The dish presentation is always good and the rolls always look appetizing. I have stuck with the lunch special the last 2 times, 3 rolls for $18. I love my sushi spicy so I get the spicy salmon and tuna rolls, which have been excellent both times. The last time, I got the unagi roll, which was also delicious. The sushi is always fresh and delicious. My friends ordered the Salmon Lover's and the General Tso's chicken bento box. They both said they were excellent dishes. The service is always polite, accommodating, and with no issues in communication, reflected in the owner Andy's own hospitality. The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is a perfect place to enjoy your favorite sushi and Asian food. I will definitely be back again.
My family and friends enjoy the best Asian foodbandvsushi. Thank you to management at Kumo. Highly recommended!

Overall, it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Kumo Asian Bistro is definitely a place I will be returning to, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal and a welcoming atmosphere!
My family and I really enjoyed this sushi restaurant. It’s our favorite! 😊The staff is always super friendly, and the sushi is fantastic. The free ice cream for kids is a great little bonus!
I secretly always door dash from this location after I experienced it in person. My mother said she wanted some good food and just moving to the area, I gave this a try. I was thoroughly impressed with the food and my mother still talks about it. I absolutely love the food. It is always hot, fresh and timely.
Worst service I’ve ever had! I spoke to the waiter, kitchen and owner saying I’m Celiac and can’t have any gluten and am extremely allergic. They acted like they know what I was talking about. First they brought out sushi covered in gluten sauce! They had to redo it and then stillll gave me sushi with fried wonton in it. After I accidentally ate it - they admitted they didn’t even know what gluten was and then also later said it was deep fried in gluten! Now I’m extremely sick because of them!! Worst service I’ve ever had!!!
I can’t believe we didn’t try this place sooner. Everything was great and doesnt make me miss California sushi spots as much anymore :) sushi was delicious and I like that the rolls weren’t rice heavy.
My 6 old daughter said when we’re leaving “they were so kind”…we didn’t have to wait much, different staff members were always asking if we needed anything. Every restaurant needs to take note of what they’re doing here. This team-style of service works.
Good food and a good atmosphere!
Sushi is pretty good here. Chinese just okay. So just get the sushi and you'll be happy!
Stay away from this place.
Went once and food was ok, tried again the following week and it was horrendous, the food was just spoiled, the "fried" rice was all sticky and smelly and disgusting, it ended up all in the trash so wasted money.
Consistency is very important when it comes to food and they definitely not have it. Never wasting my money here again.
Absolutely the best sushi in the area. This is our "go to" spot. Tried the curry as well, it is solid!
This place really surprised me, it was quite an experience, and I left with mixed feelings. I'm usually skeptical when the restaurant tries to do too much, and has an extensive menu, with over 100 items, there is usually a lack of perfection with some items, which is what I felt after eating here.
The specialty rolls were terrific, with generous portions of Tobiko, and Sashimi, I enjoyed them tremendously.
The Himachi Kama was cooked to perfection, with tender flesh, and crispy skin, absolutely decadent.
The Baked Green Mussels were ok, there was a powdery texture in the Sriracha sauce, Paprika and Cayenne perhaps, that left a mild bitter flavor.
The Clam soup was sad, 6 or 7 baby clams in a mild flavored broth, scallions for the heck of it, and fried shallots to add one more ingredient, it was unimpressive.
Good experience coming here for dinner
Great 🍣 and great service
The food is so delicious!! The servers are all attentive to help in anything you need!! Highly recommend it!
This is a great spot. We used to go here pre covid. It was closed for dine in for a long time and recently reopened. Food and service better than before! Great spot for Asian
Amazing food and options. Variety of food options that you will keep going back for. Large quantities and very fresh.
Pad Thai is best served hot. Next time I'll eat in
Kumo is my go to spot for sashimi/sushi in the DMV area. My favorite asian fusion restaurant for over 10 years. It is perfect for date night, special occasions and business lunches. I've taken my children here and they love it. Everything on the menu is delicious and their prices are reasonable. The sashimi and sushi are crazy fresh. Our usual includes Salt & Pepper Shrimp, Hunan Triple Crown, Salt & Pepper Soft Shell Crab, and General Tso's Shrimp. This hidden gem is tucked away in a strip mall in Kingstowne. They do get busy, so I would make a reservation especially if you're going on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
Duck Spring rolls amazing...well basically everything I had was freah, well prepared and even with presentation. Great idea for my mother's day lunch/dinner. They accommodated for my 7m old son, my mom and myself. Thank you!
Great food and experience.
I seriously LOVE this place- FOOD IS ON POINT EVERY SINGLE TIME and ALL of it is FABUMAZING. I didn't even like lo mein until I had theirs and then I started CRAVING it cause it was that good! Also, have lost count of the people who didn't like sushi that Kumo converted!
Great sushi selection, great specials, great restaurant.
Simply the best 👌
Food is always delicious! The service is outstanding. Betul has such great energy and greeted us with a big smile. We felt so welcome!
We love Japanese food. Si does our baby. He doesn't like it. We didn't either. There's fair resemblance but lack in quality and taste
Everything was delicious, can’t wait to eat here again
Love the gyoza. Folks like the sushi a lot
Always the freshest and best tasting sushi and best service by happy and courteous staff.
Easily the BEST Sushi in the area.
The only thing fresher than the menu items is the staff. Owner, chefs, and servers are all fast, pleasant, and exceptional even at busy hours.
Highly recommend this location over the flash DC sushi spots that under deliver on quality and over deliver their pricing.
I enjoy my appetizers and entrées from this establishment. The taste and flavor are always consistent. One thing I truly enjoy is dining alone, and it's a great atmosphere to do so. I don't like their version of Thai Tea. I'll stick to an authentic Thai establishment for that. Otherwise, it's a good place...go, try it out!!
Salad that comes with the sushi is always brown and rotten
Me encantó.
Food is absolutely delicious!!
Food was amazing and the sushi was the best part of it
Food is really good but prices keep going up! Almost to the point where the price point out weighs the food. I ordered a combo and they forgot the salad (semi understandable since they were SLAMMED!) So service....well....
Kumo is one of the top two sushi spots I have had the pleasure to discover. I am STILL raving about it after visiting over the 2024 New Year weekend. The sashimi is so fresh!! The presentation is creatively and beautifully executed. The staff had mastered the art of being there every time you need them, but not so much as to interfere in the experience. I was so impressed with the tuna, escolar, live scallops, and seared salmon belly (fatty salmon). We also got a spicy crunchy garlic roll that was the best sushi I've ever had!! The price was perfect for what we desired to eat that night, and you could very comfortably afford any experience you are looking to have. It WAS crowded, but once we were promptly seated and presented with our first course, I understood why....fresh, delicious, affordable cuisine and a great atmosphere!!! You MUST visit this hidden gem. You'll thank us and yourself!!!!
This establishment is very honest. The price is reasonable and the portion you get for the price you pay is rightly justified compared to other Chinese owned restaurants. More importantly, the food tastes great!
Love to always go here with friends or even by myself. Very nice selection of dishes - raw sushi bar ( you can sit at) and you can also get hibachi dishes as well. They also have some nice main dishes and love the Miso soup and Sushi Deluxe is very yummy and fresh! Attentive service and waiters are swift and very kind. Love Kumo!
Best sushi around
Best sushi in NOVA.
Food never disappoints. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend the Salt and Pepper Shrimp
Definitely the best local sushi spot.
Really positive ambient atmosphere. Attentive staff from waiters, to seating, to sushi chefs, everyone was 10/10. Even on a busy night they made sure to engage in authentic, positive customer service.
The food was immaculate. I got the dragon roll, the hot girl roll, the miso soup, and crab Rangoon. All of which were the best I've had in YEARS.
Lastly, the price was totally affordable in relation to gross DC city prices.
I will be returning and trying every item on the menu.
I am SO happy to have finally found a quality sushi spot in DMV after 3 years of looking.
A+++
5/6/23
Haven't been here in years when I used to work around here. Always wanted to take the family here but it was a little far. Decided to do it tonight for dinner and it was worth the drive. Good Japanese food, great selection. Servers worked as a team which increases efficiency and there are a lot of them. Rolls were awesome and so was the desert.. big serving with one order more than enough for 3 people. Only issue I had was the music inside the restaurant as to me it was rated R - my daughter is only 7 years old. Overall it was a fantastic dinner.
The receptionist Alice was extremely rude. Instead of communicating with me to hold on In person, the lady taking my order held her finger in my face and rolled her eyes while she assisted another customer on the phone before assisting me again In person I was a take out order.
Rude stuff
The best food. I really loved. Thank you.
Great little treasure in the area
Good food and good music. Always enjoy eating here!!
Nice birthday dinner celebration. All of the sushi rolls we tried were amazing, and the sashimi was excellent as well. Loved the mango sticky rice. The tempura banana was just ok - too soft/not crispy. Other than that - everything hit the spot!
Hot and fresh. I travel far and pass many places, to get quality Chinese takeout here.
I’ve been coming here ever since I was little and declared it my favorite sushi place. I would say recently the service has gone downhill a bit but I come mostly for the food. Prices are average but their sushi and other dishes are always consistent and top-notch. Hopefully they continue with great food.
Great food! Great service!!
the food is consiently good. Asian food of the best quality. better quality than most. always busy, which is a good sign. although the service is great, the dining room is cramped
it's the best Asian Cuisine around.
The food was ok, but a little too bland for my taste. My kid thought their food was good. Service was good, and the location was pretty accessible.
Great sushi, lots of fish with a thin layer of rice, fresh, well-priced, great ambiance.
Great food. Salad dressing was different than any I'd had a Japanese place. My sushi was great. My son loved his hibachi dish.
Kumo Asian Bistro holds a special place in my heart as my family's go-to dining spot for years. With each visit, we are welcomed like old friends, and the staff's warmth and familiarity make us feel at home. The menu never fails to impress, offering a wide array of Asian dishes that cater to all our tastes. Whether it's the mouthwatering sushi, the flavorful stir-fries, or the delectable noodle dishes, every bite is a reminder of the restaurant's consistent quality. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for family gatherings or casual dinners. Kumo Asian Bistro has become more than just a restaurant; it's a cherished tradition that we look forward to continuing for years to come.
Really high quality food. This is now one of my "go to" restuarants.
Sushi was pretty good. Skin on salmon skin roll was soggy. I like it for its crispiness but from this place it wasn’t. Other than that the rolls were good
This place has the BEST sushi and sashimi in all of the DMV area. I've been eating here literally since they opened and have met the gentleman that run the establishment, who are very nice btw! I'm always happy to support local small businesses and this place is definitely one of them.
Okay, so about the food! Their sushi is the thing to try here, especially their signature Kumo rolls. Personal favorites are the Black Dragon Roll and the Dancing Dragon Roll, although ANY of their signature rolls are amazing. These aren't your little snack like store bought rolls, these are monster rolls with so many textures, these rolls will fill you up. So if you look at the price of a roll, I promise, it's filling and oh so worth it. This place has ruined me for sushi, nothing else can compare. Even their classic sushi is amazing, the quality is amazing. If anything, come here for the sushi!
Raw fish not your thing? That's fine because I've also had their hot dishes and they make a delicious pad Thai, bento boxes and even a simple fried rice dish. I'm fond of their crab rangoon and gyoza appetizers I've never ordered their vegetarian or vegan options but I do know they have some and if it's anything like their other dishes, also delicious.
Setting? It's very cozy. Presentation? Beautiful! Especially if you get their Sushi and Sashimi Combo or Love Boat, be prepared for everyone to look over at your table because those dishes are show stoppers! Definitely good date night place. Staff are very nice and professional, as I said I've met the gentleman who own this place and they're very attentive and friendly, always checking in with their customers.
This place has been around for years now and is the go-to sushi spot, I tell people all the time if you're looking for amazing sushi! I'm a lifelong fan!
The food is generally good, but delivery is pretty terrible. Delivery orders are most always incorrect, with missing or incorrect orders. Cold food arrives warm as does hot food. Nothing is the right temperature.
Edit 2023: This place is food poisoning central. Stay away!
My wife liked her vegetable tempura, so let's start with that. And service was fast. The compliments pretty much end there though. Swear to God, this was the most sushi I've ever spit out in my entire life. Unagi (eel) sushi was loaded with bones and was not grilled. It was slimy and stretchy and tasted like it had been microwaved. Every piece of every roll I ordered fell apart when I picked up using my chopsticks. Raw fish inside was warm and rubbery. A piece of avocado in my Alaska Roll still had a piece of leathery black avocado skin attached to it. Shumai and dumplings were basically the type you get frozen from Trader Joe's. Small and slippery and also tasted like they had been microwaved. We sat down and got only 2 chopsticks for 4 people. We had to ask repeatedly for silverware and napkins. When napkins were finally delivered they only delivered 2, so we had to ask repeatedly for 2 more. When the sushi was delivered it didn't come with the little sauce dishes for our soy sauce and wasabi. So I had to get up and steal some from the place settings at the sushi bar. The inside was very claustrophobic. The dining area is over packed with tables and chairs, with about 2 inches separating one table from the next. The hallway to the restrooms doubles as a storage area, so you have to push past cardboard boxes with stuff piled on top of them. Much of the food comes in these ridiculously oversized serving plates, so 3 appetizers basically takes up the entire table. You have to eat very fast and keep stacking your empty plates beneath the ones with food still on them to make it all fit. The family next to ours asked us super nicely to put some of their stuff on our table because they ran out of space. Not a pleasant, tasty, or relaxing meal at all. Way better options exist in the Franconia-Springfield area... so this is the last time we'll ever be brave enough to venture into Kumo Bistro.
Muy bueno.
Incredible. Got the sashimi for two, beautiful and delicious. Definitely recommend if you like sashimi.
Tried three desserts - tempura banana ice cream, tempura cheese cake, sticky rice&mango. Favorite and highly recommend tempura cheese cake.
Had to order that Basil fried rice Togo. Was hoping for more of the breath of the wok flavor from Asian cooking, nonetheless excellent flavor.
Kumo is one of our favorite sushi restaurants. The sashimi is fresh, and the sushi is delicious. The services are fast. The last time we dined in was before COVID. Today, we decided to eat in instead of take out for lunch. A new crew of waitresses is running the place. Our waitress was fast and didn't even ask if I was done with my hot and sour soup before she took it away when it was half empty. Kumo is the only restaurant in the NOVA that knows how to cook this delicious hot and sour soup. I didn't take stars or tips away because of this incident. I would still recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice sushi place.
great place to enjoy during lunch time - many great lunch menu
We ordered the hibachi that averages 24 to 30 an order. We were told that ginger sauce was included but come to find out it does not. I've never had hibachi that didn't include ginger sauce in orders that included meat. And for those who love ginger sauce it should be told ahead they don't include it since many expect it. They were unapologetic about it. Also fried rice < steamed.
Friendly service and great lunch special. I go there weekly.
I find that the sushi and the spring rolls were consistently excellent (I got the spicy tuna and the sweet potato rolls) however, when I tried the traditional Chinese food dishes such as the crispy Szechuan beef or the sesame chicken, they were just okay. Stick with the sushi! Sometimes there's also very loud parties there that make conversation difficult.
