Relaxed space featuring a huge menu of Pan-Asian cuisine, with a decor scheme to match.
Outstanding food and service. The food gets fast to the table. We ordered (2 people): two appetizers, 3 sushi rolls and 1 entree. The waiter was super friendly and hospitable. We asked for recommendations and the waiter did not miss. The flaming sushi roll was amazing. It was rich in flavor. We definitely will return
My family has enjoyed going to Asian Bistro off and on for about 20 years. I held my engagement dinner there. The restaurant is run by a great family. They have always taken good care of us, provide excellent service, and delicious food. We have never been disappointed. Sushi is excellent, and the assortment of other dishes is always a delight. Our favorite starter that can’t be beat in our opinions is the curry puffs. We went for dinner a week ago and lunch today. We like to go when it’s not too crowded because loud restaurants are difficult to enjoy eating at and have conversations. If you feel the same, you will enjoy Asian Bistro! While we were there folks came in for takeaway, so they have options for all types of diners.
I love visiting this place the food service and atmosphere is always on point. Give them grace as the language barrier is there but always without a doubt enjoyable. I can never take a proper pic because I always devour the food before I can get my phone out. Sushi is always fresh!
I had the Bugo key and my wife had the drunken noodles. Both dishes were superb. I also got sushi and a hand roll. Absolutely scrumptious. Highly recommend. Nice ambience as well.
After a day on Amtrak and about 8 miles of walking around DC and Alexandria, we were tired and hungry. We literally picked this place because it was right next to our Airbnb. None of us were really craving Asian, but here we were.
Well, Look no further if you are looking for an explosion of tastes in Old Town, Alexandria. Starving or not, we would have recognized the expertise in the chef's knowledge this cuisine.
Three of us ordered to share. The rolls were outstanding, the warmth complimenting the textures. We could actually taste the crab in the Crab Rangoons. This is not always the case, often times, whatcha get is some cream cheese without any hint of crab. The General Tso's Chicken was fresh, clean and crisp tasting. I'm not really a fan because I usually sense a smokey flavor. No smokey here. Perfection! My friend ordered a tofu dish with vegetables that was probably some of the best flavored tofu I'd ever eaten. THAT takes talent! My choice was a shrimp and cashew fried rice which was so flavorful I couldn't stop.
With all the restaurants to chose from in Old Town, I would make it a point to stop here at Asian Bistro. It's on my "gotta go here again" list.
Really great food, really great service!

Great place to get some delicious, authentic Asian food. Always good service!
I had the Bugo key and my wife had the drunken noodles. Both dishes were superb. I also got sushi and a hand roll. Absolutely scrumptious. Highly recommend. Nice ambience as well.
It was nice enough.
The Bento box for lunch was quite good.
Consistently amazing food and great service. My favorite place in Alexandria!
Despite living in the area, I have not visited this restaurant in years. Recently I stopped by for a quick meal and was impressed at the quality of the food - love this place and will be going back more often!
Absolutely superb ramen - the AB ramen was wonderful. Very friendly service too.
Wonderfull food.
We loved it here and would definitely return.
Food, atmosphere, and service were wonderful.
Absolutely delicious. Would recommend again, although sometimes it can get a little bit too dim inside.
Loved it!! Really great service!!!
Last evening I ordered takeout spider roll and my nursing assistant picked it up for me. I was literally disgusting. It looked like they scraped someone's plate and put in the box. I could not even tell that the burnt separate pieces were soft shell crab. I have purchase from Asian Bistro several sushi platters that were attractive and very good. Planned to for a party this weekend. Not happening. They would never serve in the restaurant what I received!
They have a bento box lunch special for under 20.00. Includes rice, California roll, salad, meso soup, and a main. Services is always on point. I live in the area and find myself only eating here.
I love visiting this place the food service and atmosphere is always on point. Give them grace as the language barrier is there but always without a doubt enjoyable. I can never take a proper pic because I always devour the food before I can get my phone out. Sushi is always fresh!
We’ve eaten here several times and everything is very good. I like that you can sushi and other Asian dishes. Staff is very nice!
Amazing food, attentive service, relaxed atmosphere. We went for lunch on a weekday so it was very empty, but the noodle dishes we ordered were amazing. The mango sticky rice was to die for.

We had dinner tonight and everyone loved it. We loved the atmosphere, the service, and food. We had the salmon with teriyaki sauce, the bistro fried rice, shrimp dumplings, and miso soup. Everything was delicious and food came out very quickly. I had the lychee martini and was on point. Definitely will come back if I ever get the chance again, since we are visiting.
First time walking on King’s St. and we were looking for a kid friendly place. Asian Bistro has a family friendly atmosphere and the food was fantastic! Glad we chose this place 😁.
If your ever looking for a good asian restaurant this is the one!, they have really good food and kind staff
Came here for late dinner after flight into DCA and staying at nearby hotel. Glad to find a restaurant that is open late and surprised that they can have such an extensive Asian menu and do the dishes well. The curry puff is a standout - will return when in area.
First and last time ordering from this place. The wonton soup was disgusting; should not be on the menu! The price for the seafood Lomein portion they serve is ridiculous!
This is by far the best sushi in Alexandria. Our server is always so kind and attentive no matter who we get. Favorite place to go!
This restaurant offer a very nice quality of Asian cuisine. As a Japanese, it’s pleasantly surprising that this restaurant is here in the heart of Old Town Alexandria.
I ordered Eel Lover (mix of eel nigiri, and eel & avocado roll). First, the dish came with extra sauce on the top of the sushi, which was too much amount of sauce for me. I talked to the waitress, and they kindly substituted it with the one without sauce.
My children ordered nabeyaki udon, and that was amazing. On the top of regular udon in soup, there were chicken, sauteed vegetables, fried egg, and shrimp tempura.
Good
Really good food for great prices.
Expected a better experience. Food was sub par, server was pushy and the people in the back who were shoe-less weren't something I'd expected to see
Delicious food with great vegetarian options
Just shocked about the price gouging. 70$ for 1 people’s takeout. 12$ for Rangoons
Flat out bad.
Apparently good Chinese food is really hard to find.
Restaurant
depot, special edition noodles, overpriced.
Better off getting frozen pf chang’s from the grocery store.
I used to beg to come here after summer camp as a kid, I ordered takeout here as comfort food when I was cramming for finals in college, and now I go in for a bite whenever I just want some good food as an adult. The food has always been great and fairly priced. The owner is very kind as well. I love this little spot.
Good food, good friendly service. Decent prices. Small place, but not too busy on a Friday night. The Cashew Chicken was delicious, and the Papaya Salad was excellent.
This is one of our favorite places that we order take out all the time. I love the chicken panag and the yellow curry soup is amazing. The soup is hard to find. Highly recommend both.
Everything was on point. Service was fast, which I appreciated.
The food was cold and overused not tasty at all. Chicken and broccoli is normally my favorite dish. This time it’s not fresh and didn’t taste good at all. The service was great and the soup was not bad.
I highly recommend this restaurant the food and service were phenomenal
Really glad that I stopped here for lunch. The staff was so friendly and I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of vegetarian options. They have a full menu dedicated to vegetarian options! I had the sweet and sour tofu and my partner had the pho. My dish was so fresh and flavorful. I’ll be dreaming about it for a while.
Excellent food and service
Best sushi’s ever!
Food: 10/10
Service: 10/10
Cleanliness: 10/10
Music: 10/10
Ambiance: 10/10
Any time I’m on this side of the U.S., this will be a must restaurant. Highly recommend!
The three of us unfortunately had a pretty underwhelming dinner here last night.
Excellent food, great location and overall ambience. I love this place. Take my word for it and enjoy.
Our favorite spot! I absolutely love the staff, food, and ambiance.
Best Thai/Asian food out here. The sushi chefs put their all into these sushi’s ! Service is immaculate.
Loved the green curry and pad Thai
They do a little of everything here, I usually find that one thing I like at any restaurant and stick with it which for me is the Singapore noodle with chx or tofu

We ordered a variety of dishes and enjoyed them all!
This food was horrible thought we would give them a try cause they are close to our apartment. Never again
No flavor and expensive
We just had a lovely take out sushi dinner. The food was great but the packaging of the sushi made me so happy! Good old fashioned cardboard. No plastic except for the soy sauce containers and maybe I can opt out of those next time. Thank you for this extra step.
Ordered from Door Dash and it took around two hours for my food to arrive. I live about 15 mins or less away from this place so that was the beginning of my frustrations. My Dasher gets 5 stars because he stayed until the food was ready and also informed me that this place had to remake my food (whatever that means).
Once I finally received my food it was definitely not worth the wait. The sesame chicken was dry af. The rice comes in a small box that looks like it should be a kids meal. The miso soup came in a larger container than the rice (not sure why they are generous with the soup and not much else). I will say the miso was pretty decent and is the only reason I gave two stars. My wife said her sushi was good but she'll have to submit her own review for that. I won't be wasting my time ordering from here again. 😫
Probably one of, if not the best Asian food locations that I have ever eaten at! Thought the Sesame Chicken and General Tso's chicken from my hame town Asian was good, but The Asian Bistro's version blew it out of the water! Amazing food, super atmosphere and top-notch service made this the best place we have eaten during our stay in Washington DC!
Great Asian food at realistic prices.
Get the Ramen or curry noodle soups. You won't be disappointed. This is a favorite in Alexandria.
Terrible experience rude people when you first walk in. Unsanitary place food . Alexandria Health Department needs to look in to this place. I would not even rate this place.
I don’t know what happened to Asian Bistro, but the food was barely tolerable. There was Tom cha soup that was watery, devoid of vegetables or even good mushrooms, chokingly too much lime juice and an almost clear broth. The chicken sesame was worse, if that’s even possible. It was fried chicken breast pieces smothered in a sugary sauce with bland broccoli pieces and some dried out carrot julienned on the side. I’m not a picky eater, but blah. No placemats or even a small vase of flowers or a bottle of soy sauce to rescue this subpar meal on the table. Never coming back. Miss the restaurant I used to know. No wonder the place was empty of customers.
Really excellent sleeper of a place!
The drunken noodles were perfect!! I would definitely come back again. Also the ramen was delicious. Very happy with this find.
Great quality Asian fare for a fair price. Highly recommend any of their ramen choices as its seasoned to perfection (especially the chasu).
Nice lil hole in the wall restaurant with great service and great food. Best General Tso ever....nice and crispy with the sauce on it!!
Good food, simple atmosphere. Would defint recommend. I got the drunken noodles and a tuna avocado roll, well with it.
Good services, excellent food, and cozy place.
Awesome food, great menu selections and lovely service. Will become regular customers 🙏💜
First time eating here and after the great service I received, it won't be the last.
I had visited this place many times before the pandemic started and it was really good, but I just had a very disappointing experience. The food didn't taste good. It feels like the dishes were cooked so fast that the ingredients didn't acquired a good taste so the flavors were bland. We ordered the asian bistro ramen, beef king pao and a wok fried seafood.
Great service and large portions. Loved our meal here and will be coming back!
Food came out fast and service was nice. I enjoyed myself.
The sushi is not fresh. The worst sushi I ever had. Save your money and time.
Finally went in after years. Glad we did. Wonderful flavors and dishes. Fresh and original. No hint of the usual fare that tastes like mall Chinese.
Ordered some basics for pick up, chicken lo mein and wonton soup. It was not very good, just generally lacked flavor. I desperately wished they had given me soy sauce in my bag…
They sadly exchanged their menus and service for an obscure online system. You need to use your phone to see the food available, and pay from your phone to get an order in. No more service, no human contact, now you're with your date stuck on your phone trying to figure out from the dishes' pictures if that is what you like (the waitress won t answer questions). Then you have to type all your info in (name, address, email, phone, the name of your aunt) followed by your credit card information. I don't come to a restaurant to be on my phone. This used to be my favorite Sushi place. No more.... I suggest the Vietnamese Restaurant right behind on Cameron street instead, you will be greeted there with a good old fashion smile.
Might’ve just come here on a bad day, but we ordered sushi and it was so bad it was inedible. I think we ordered four rolls in total, and I think the fish must’ve just all gone bad. They were too fishy (I am a lover of sushi but they were SO fishy), rice wasn’t cooked well, and flavors were overpowering and not good. It was bad enough I don’t think I’m willing to come back and try the non-sushi menu items, which is unfortunate considering how few Asian places are around. Not very fast service either.
Amazingly quick service, kind and attentive waiters, great sushi, and a beautiful restaurant!
I love coming here to get my fresh Sushi and delicious tea..
Good sushi worth a visit
Very good sushi worth a try
A very nice eatery at a pretty location in Old Town. Interior of the restaurant is clean and pretty, food choices are excellent (we got General Tso's, lo mein, sushi, spring rolls, and fried rolls) and service was quick and professional. Reasonable pricing too. Would definitely return!
Excellent Sesame Chicken and other dishes. Great service!
Solid sushi, will go back.
We went here for my friends birthday dinner and we weren't disappointed. Everything on the menu that we ordered was amazing!! I recommend trying tomato.basil sushi. It's something new and refreshing!!
I’ve been to every Thai food place in Alexandria and this place is by far the best. Always super welcoming and professional service. Food is slreally clean and tasty.
Our to go Chinese restaurante. I love their fried rice, the best!!!!
A++ Ramen
I couldn’t even eat. Disgusting low quality food.
The food was delicious. Ordered the broccoli stir fry, so yummy.
Simple the best
Cute Beautiful place for date night! They took our order although it was close to closing time. Good delicious food, very kind & courteous people. We will be back again.
Despite looking like a strip mall joint though it's on King Street, the Asian bistro is decorated beautifully inside.
This was my first visit and usually I order kung pao chicken whenever I'm in a new Asian or Chinese restaurant. Every place makes it differently. Sometimes it's dry and crispy sometimes less so and juicy. This version came with lots of vegetables and a really nice sauce. I thought it was great.
We ordered spring rolls and they gave us a huge plate of them as an appetizer. They weren't very greasy and were nice and fully stuffed.
Indoor tables are spaced plenty far apart and all the waiters wore masks
Everything was delicious. The customer service, and the entire dining experience was great.
Your meal is a mini-vacay to East, South, and Southeast Asia.
Vietnamese. Malay. Chinese. Indian. Thai…the list keeps marching on!
Some spice pairings were not as good as you’d find at say an Indian restaurant or a Thai restaurant. But that’s to be expected to get the sheer diversity they offer.
Try the Malay laksa (might also be called yellow curry soup) – it’s a rare find here in the US.
Good Pad Thai
Excellent food, great service!
The service AND food was fantastic. Clean environment not to busy. I had chicken and veggies. My sister had chicken fried rice.
First, Asian Bistro has some of the best sushi in Alexandria.
Second, the staff is incredibly kind and efficient.
Third, the location is perfect.
I try to visit asian bistro whenever I'm in old town for a reason. This establishment has never dissapointed me in the 5 years I've patronized them.
The staff were fairly professional considering how busy the restaurant was today. They were kind for offering me candy and ginger ale while I was waiting.
I would like to apologize for how difficult my father was for: sending me in a many times to wait for the meal and having us return to the restaurant from home over his favorite sauce not being in the bag.
If the owners or staff of Asian Bistro see this, thank you for your patience with my father and me.
Good food.
I thought it was a nice place until I found a pile of shaved metal in my AB fried rice. I told the owner/manager & the S.O.B didn't apologize, but offered me a free meal on my next order. I WILL NEVER EAT AT THE ASIAN (ASSASSIN) BISTRO! I don't think the CHEF'S care for Americans!!! Check all food before consuming.., &/or respect life & stay clear of this shyt hole!!!!
Asian Bistro is my favorite place in Alexandria City. We found it in 2015 when we relocated from Florida. I craved my sushi and fish dishes. The atmosphere is wonderful, the place and the service are welcoming. I have not been there in a year, but I am looking to have a wonderful dinner again to reminisce to the good old days before COVID. I hope they continue to offer the great service and the delicious food that they are notorious for.
The food here was great and the service was phenomenal. The waiter was very attentive and was good about filling drinks and bringing food out in a timely manner. If you are looking to try something new or like things such as salmon or other Asian foods this place is a good place to start.
Very good prices! The soy sauce ramen and sushi were very good. I will be back to try other dishes. The floors were sticky like a mug tho someone clean that thang 🧼🧹🧹
2nd visit: I Stopped by here after a bike ride to mt Vernon and went to town on the ramen and spicy Thai basil chicken. It was delicious.
A neighborhood gem!
A family-owned restaurant with creative, beautifully prepared dishes and sushi where you are treated like family.
We spent maybe 10 minutes debating which sushi rolls to get because we’re indecisive but we literally ordered paid and were out with our food in less than 5 minutes!! Very delicious and Hostess/server was super friendly.
Food was really good, waitress was attentive
A very nice Asian restaurant that leans towards a fusion (selection) of Thai and Vietnamese dishes.
Whatever I've ordered has been very delicious, and I'd certainly recommend them if you're down in the Old Town area of Alexandria looking for a lunch or dinner.
Good food a bit pricey.
The food is great!!!!!!!
I love this place. Great service and food!
The staff was really nice. The food was well seasoned and delicious. The food came very fast. Overall, a pretty good place.😉👍
I stopped in for lunch on 12/23/2020. Food was delicious. Tom Yum Shrimp soup was my favorite. Outstanding customer service. Clean restaurant and clean restrooms. My overall experience was wonderful.
Love it! Great staff always consistent.
Great pan-Asian restaurant in the heart of Old Town Alexandria
I love this place! It is my go to Chinese food fix. Great food, great service, and amazing price!
Everything outside of sushi I have had so far has been delicious and fresh. The service is professional and I call to order online and it is always ready in the alloted time they say. Highly recommend for a good Thai fix. I have only had takeaway, but I have seen people eating in the resturant socially distanced. Dont be intimidated by the menu - they have A LOT of options. I gave it 4 stars because the sushi was not great. Oh and get the crab and mushroom steamed dumplings. Amazing!
Good food, excellent service and clean establishment.
Nice Service. Food is interesting
One of the best asain places I've ever eaten at. Service was quick, and the food was really really good. The calimari and the hot and sour soup where amazing!
Lychee martini was great, service was great, food was okay. It was missing...something. Felt like the food was under seasoned, rice and noodles were oily. Other than that, rest was okay.
Very fresh food.
The service was excellent and the food was amazing!
Excellent tom yum soup
Great place to eat
The curry is AMAZING!!!
Expensive
Would not recommend. Ordered through Postmates and two items I was charged with were missing. Sushi is low quality and was falling apart when received.
This restaurant was amazing. The service is very good they are very attentive and the food was ready fairly quick. The Terriyaki dish was sooo delicious will return when I come back to DCA.
