Red Basil has the best Pad Thai in Utah! While Pad Thai is great, try more favorites like Beef Nam Tok with at least a medium spicy level. New dessert and beverage options. Family-friendly.
What a great find! First, the atmosphere is amazing and I never wanted to leave. It was intimate and beautiful. The food had amazing flavor and just the right heat for me (I got a 2 out of 4). The portion size was also perfect. The pictures are of the chicken and broccoli stir fry and Pad Thai. We will definitely be going back!
It's not often where I walk into a restaurant and am so impressed with the atmosphere that I'm sold and excited to try the food. Red Basil was one of these restaurants. The ambiance is incredible. The lights, the music, and the wall that displays an ocean and beach setting were beautiful. However, I feel the coolest thing was the menus that light up when you open them (check out the video I attached with this review). That was so awesome! I can go in and on about how creative and beautiful the presentation of the restaurant iand I haven't even started with the food. The food was wonderful. We had the yellow curry, veggie tray, and Pad Thai. For dessert was the mango and sticky rice. We loved everything they we ordered. Anyone who likes Thai food has to visit Red Basol!@@
My family of 7 just ate here and we enjoyed it. The ambiance and atmosphere is really nice and unique. Our kids loved it. Friendly service and the food was good. We ordered about 7 different dish and they were all great! The food tasted homey to us and closer to what Thai food tastes like. It’s definitely better than most Thai restaurants around here who are super fancy. The pad Thai was my favorite. We’d recommend this place!
We have been to this restaurant many times and they never disappoint! They have decorated the interior of the restaurant to look like a starry night jungle & have beach / water landscapes projected videos on the walls - very cool!
Food is always excellent. Last night we had amazing Chicken Satay- tender juicy chicken and excellent peanut sauce. The Pad Thai was excellent as well!
Definitely our favorite Thai food in Salt Lake City!
Vibe: The tropical vibes were awesome, pleasantly surprised by it. Really liked the atmosphere.
Service: It was good, satisfied with that.
Wait time: No waiting needed, which was fantastic.
Food quality: Tried drunken noodles, pad thai, yellow curry rice, and for dessert, mango and sticky rice. Loved the flavors.
Bang for buck: Definitely worth the price.
Location: Easy to locate and get to, very convenient.
Beware if you have food allergies. I have a new shellfish allergy, and when I ordered drunken noodles last time, I got a call from a gal there who informed me that there was oyster sauce in drunken noodles. They made it vegan for me. Great. After eating at a couple of other places, I found out oyster sauce in chili paste was common. So fast-forward to two days ago and I wrote in, again, that I have a shellfish allergy and also, specifically, “no oyster sauce”. My noodles very distinctly tasted like seafood and I was sick for a whole day afterward. Luckily I’m not deathly allergic, but they’re going to kill someone one day. It would be nice if they double-checked allergens with someone knowledgeable. Can’t eat there again, unfortunately. :/
I love the decorations and the atmosphere. But the food is exceptional. I really like the cashew chicken, bbq pork on a stick, and mago sticky rice!!
It's the best Thai food I think I have ever had
Delicious Thai food! The atmosphere was so fun. It felt like we were far away from our real world. The food was bright and fresh. Portions were generous and service was wonderful! We ordered the yellow pineapple curry (added chicken and veggies) and the cashew chicken. Amazing!

Amazing food and even better atmosphere. A must see if you like authentic food in a creative atmosphere.
Great food, nice place!
Great food, great service, great atmosphere!

Good food, nice servers, quick to get the food, and an amazing, unique ambience. A little pricy, but worth it.
Great Thai food, with an excellent lunch menu. The mango sticky rice is delicious.
Very good food and fun atmosphere!

We still continue to visit this place, and it's still the best in Utah. IMHO. We specifically go at lunch to take advantage of their lunch specials. Our favorites are Pad Ka Prow, Massaman curry, and Bamboo curry... we just tried the Garlic Pwpper chicken which was really good so we will be ordering that again in the near future. The ambiance is 2nd to none. Those that have been here know the difference. Still favorite dish this their chicken satay skewers which come with a rich peanut sauce and their chicken pad thai. The owners of the restaurant work their and maintain their high level of quality. Everyone that I take there, they end up saying this is their tip 1-3 places to eat.
Best Thai food I've had here in SLC. I have been to multiple Thai restaurants and it just doesn't compare to the taste. It's a bit on the pricey side so be forewarned. The people that own the restaurant are down to earth and love their customers.
We have been going to red basil since 2017 and never had a bad experience. We drive now from herriman for food here. The ambiance is so fun too
Food was amazing! Such a beautiful little restaurant inside! Perfect for date night. Absolutely recommend!
Food was really good. Our server was also so nice and made sure we had what we needed. Not only was the food good but the decor was so awesome. From the entrance all the way to the bathrooms the restaurant was so well decorated and it was so cool. Highly recommend!
So fabulous!!
This can get a little pricey, but we always enjoy coming. The beef pad Thai, spicy fried rice and a sweet-and-sour chicken!
We had a GREAT experience.
We went mostly for the ambiance. We knew our toddler would love the glow and general decor, and we were right. He loved the projection on the wall next to us, and the stars on the ceiling. I'll just say that up front because in my mom era, it counts for a lot when my toddler is enthralled and excited about a restaurant. It makes my life easier.
But the food and service were both great too! I got the tom kha which was brought hot pot style to the table. It was really delicious and flavorful.
Although I was finishing up Whole 30, I still ordered the Massaman curry (peanuts aren't allowed) and loved it. My husband ordered the Lad Naa, and I had a bite of the chicken. It was really tasty. My toddler loves Thai food too and loved everything we offered him.
Our server was a lot better than we've had at other Thai establishments. She was friendly and quick.
And I know the photos have already told you, but the bathrooms are incredible. My son is obsessed with all things ocean and shells and crabs right now, so he just wanted to hang out in the bathrooms. Even if you don't need to go while you're there, stop in the bathrooms. Seriously.

I am shook at how good this place is! I haven’t had Thai food like this since I was in Thailand! Thank you for bring these flavors to my home and letting me share them with my wife! She is now obsessed with the mango sticky rice!
We have lived near by for years and finally tried this place. It. Was. AMAZING. The dishes just got better and better. My husband's family is Thai and this was very authentic. We will absolutely be back.
Red Basil is consistently wonderful. The food is very fresh and delicious. The service makes you feel right at home. The decor is a little kitchy, but charming. It gives you plenty to look at. I love coming because it is always a good experience.

Be forewarned it is very expensive
Hands down 5 stars!!
From the outside it’s easily missed when you’re driving and doesn’t look like it’d be the mat special, but you’re hoping the food is good. Once you open that door the whole atmosphere changes! It looks like you’re not in Utah anymore. The walls look like beaches and some of the tables look like they are waves on the beach. I’ve only tried the pad Thai and chicken cashew nut and both were delicious!! Definitely love going here!!
Small restaurant. Well decorated but dark inside. When my son and I were there for lunch yesterday (Friday) there was only one person waiting on the whole restaurant. She was fast, however. The food at this restaurant is always MOST excellent! The servings are generous. I highly recommend it. It is quite a drive from where I live, but well worth it.
We love everything at Red Basil. We can't wait to go back!!
It's been a couple years since we last visited, but went in for lunch today. The inside was AMAZING! I loved the unique ambiance, the dim lighting, the light-up menus. It was a fun experience! Service was great and we were well taken care of. The food was amazing! We ordered the Pad Thai (highly recommend), the Pad Khing (spicy), Thai egg rolls, and Thai fried rice. It was all delicious and nice sized portions. I'm already looking forward to our next visit!
Fantastic atmosphere, delicious food, and great service! This is one of the most flavorful Thai places to eat! The atmosphere definitely is relaxing and takes you out of the world for a moment.
Great food and atmosphere. Never been in a Thai restaurant that felt so new and clean. Little hard to understand eachother but thats normal for these places.
Update: been 2 years since my review. Service and food are still great, but the atmosphere has seriously leveled up. Been fun to watch it come together. You have to check it out yourself. New light up menus as well. Very fun!
Absolutely amazing place to dine at or even take home so delicious and the service is impeccable.
Great, delicious food! It's my absolute favorite thai restaurant. All the food is amazing, and the service is immaculate. The prices are great. They seem to have recently renovated the dining area. The new atmosphere is out of this world!
Nice place overall , if you are vegan the place is not for you with limited choices. Service is great and so is atmosphere .
Best Thai in Utah 😋
And always incredible service
In Red Basil, The people are very sweet. The food comes very quickly and tastes very different and tasty. It is a AMAZING time to spend time with family and friends . The ambience is appealing to recharge as if you are closer to nature or at a beach, lit trees and in fact their glowing menus too. If you come here, you will be sure to enjoy!
Great little place. Me and my wife loved it and it was excellent atmosphere and great priced Tai food
The atmosphere is so pleasant. The food is so delicious, best namtok in the U.S. closest to Thailand we have had. And they have Rotis! If you know, you know.
Loved the atmosphere! As soon as you walk in you are transported to a cozy Island restaurant (the way they have it decorated)!
Omg this place is just amazing the food it's so good and the team is helpfully and really fast
Best Thai in Utah. I've tried a bunch of them and this place has the best flavors. Highly recommend the fresh spring rolls, Pad Thai, and Panang Curry.
Food was good. IMO it was a little better than some other local Thai restaurants. We ordered Pad Thai and a stir fry. Both had a sweet flavor. Both very good overall. The portions were smaller than other places, and the rice was brought to our table 5+ minutes before the rest of the meal. Atmosphere is fun for a restaurant.
They are all in! The atmosphere and the food were very Thai.
Decent food
Atmosphere was very pleasant but for the amount that the food cost was extremely disappointing both quality and quantity I have been to far better places at a fraction the cost
This is the best place to get Thai food!! I went in and they sat us right down with no waiting! They brought the food out so fast like no waiting!! The staff is amazing and kind!!! The food was outstanding and amazing prices!! This is by far the best restaurant ever!!
Delicious food and great service!
We LOVE Red Basil!!! All the dishes are EXCELLENT. The food is made very fresh and very fast. We ordered the Larb, the Yellow Curry with Shrimp, the BBQ Pork on the Stick, the Pad Preaw Wan, and of course the Mangoes with Sticky Rice. Everything was packed with just the right amount of flavor. I love the island atmosphere they created with their darkened windows and amazing decor. Even the bathrooms are super decorated and SO CLEAN!!! We will return to this restaurant as much as possible!
I stopped here for lunch while visiting customers for work. This team went into extreme detail when it comes to the interior decor. Everything is island/Thai themed, including the paint job on the walls. It is cool, comfortable, and dimly lit.
I ordered all of the lunch menu. When it came, I didn’t think it was a lot, but I am full and it was very enjoyable. I had the Masi curry. I would like to come back and try some of the traditional Thai drinks.
I found the server to be very informative and pleasant.
The pricing itself was very reasonable. I do anticipate returning.
Amazing atmosphere and decor. Food was super delicious. The medium spicy level is spicier than you think but it's amazing 10/10
As a vegan I can't give five stars because there is a lot of meat on the menu, but there are still lots of veggie and tofu options (as with most Thai places). Where this place supercedes is atmosphere! Top prize! It seems so many Thai restaurants are mostly bare walls, minimal decor, fluorescent lighting, and basic tables and chairs. This place is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum! Go just to see the place. It's small but amazing! My masaman curry was delicious, the fresh wraps were tasty (although they use basil instead of mint) and the sticky rice with mangoes was yummy!
Most excellent as always!
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised when we walked into this restaurant. The outside leaves no hint to the actual inside atmosphere, so unless you've seen any pictures you will be surprised too.
I can't quite remember what it was called that I had, but it had chicken, rice, cucumbers on the side, and carrots. It was also listed as spicy. And I loved it!
Our waitress was also very good at informing us of different aspects about the menu. Like for example when I ordered the Thai soda she told me that it has an acquired taste. But I got it anyway because I was curious, and when she brought it she waited for me to try it and asked if it was okay before she left. In case you are wondering it has a very distinct banana flavor that I thought was pretty good. I don't go out of my way to eat banana flavored things, but I would definitely get it again when we go back.
All in all this place will definitely surprise you!
I'm a Thai food novice, so don't have much to compare it to. The yellow curry, spring rolls, cream cheese wontons and dessert variety plate all tasted great. Loved the low key ambiance which some might consider kitschy. Mellow music and lighting. Overall it was a great experience.
+THIS IS OFFICIAL LEGIT LEREVIEW🤣🤣
Curry was the full of the water.. When I ordered to go box container was broken and every soup was leaking.
The waiter was pointless. He did not bring any refills. He did not ask how our meal was. Yes it was good but come on, my mouth was dry and I paid for a drink that should be refilled.
Our food was excellent. I was surprised to hear some of the servers running down people who ordered non-Thai food from the menu. If you don't want people to order it, don't put it on the menu.
Location: Easy to locate and get to, very convenient.
read through entirely - Great food; absolutely delicious curry; pineapple fried rice; soup; wontons and desert. The ambience was really cozy and creative. 6/5 stars for food and ambiance.
PATHETIC service (server Ong). If it’s 8:55 pm please walk out lol - or else the server will make sure you that you are out by 9. She literally took my dessert plate from the table. Not only the server but the manager did not have the slightest decency to apologize or even allow us to say.
I really wanted to give 4/4.5 stars but the service And management was awful.
Great atmosphere... Great food... Good selection. Nice quiet place to talk. Love their curry, stir fry, and fried rice. Great presentation for the food... Probably one of my favorite Thai places... Definitely best atmosphere. My favorite thing there is the Pad Pik Khing (Chicken stir fry with green beans)... Amazing flavor. Good quality rice... Vegetables are always fresh and not overly cooked. The lunch special is a really good value... The coconut soup with the lunch special is good. Service is fast... enough time to chat but not long enough you're wondering where your food is. I've only been here for lunch so I didn't know how busy it is at dinner... but at lunch it is always about two thirds full
This is our go-to place for Thai. We’ve been coming here for years and we’ve never had a disappointing meal. The unique decor is cute, and the service has always been very friendly. The food comes out very fast. Highly recommend! Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice, and Mango Sticky Rice are our favorites. Parking at the front might be tight with other businesses around, but there’s more parking in the back. They also have a drive through option. You can order on their website and pick up at the window on the side.
Intimate, well lit, fantastic food. This restaurant aims to take you on a journey: step out of suburban Utah and into a bistro nestled in a lush garden.
We tried both the red and yellow curries and some drunken noodles. I also had a Thai red cream soda, which was an unexpected delight. Don’t miss this experience. You won’t regret it
Truly an interesting but welcome difference in atmosphere as far as what you would expect from your local thai place. It was especially nice to be submerged in a tropical theme when there was snow outside. The seating room is very immersive and oddly relaxing. Wife's yellow curry was great, my drunken noodles (yes that's the name) were also good. Service was casual and friendly. Will be back
Rushed away at 2pm... food was excellent. Cool lighted menu!
Always a great meal and experience.
Beautiful ambience! Great food!
Been coming here for 9 years I have referral hundreds of people here. Some days food are questionable but I always give local business a chance in recent years they have kids waiter which serve really slow. No big deal . Today I really want Thai food. Walk in , was told 15 minutes wait. Asked for name and # and will call when table is ready. 15 later no call, walk back in , a couple came in front and was seated down, I'm %sure for a fact this couple name wasn't on the list . They just pulled up, this place doesn't reserve table. I ask the waitress we had our name on the list but didn't get a call. Literally what's the point. I was hungry and my wife is meeting me here we both was really excited to get some Thai food tonight. Customer Service here have really gone down hill. Won't be back. We both end up going somewhere else as we can't wait any longer.
Although Red basil has amazing food the service is a disaster. If a restaurant advertise that it makes reservations they should be true to their word, I thought since they would be under new management they would have resolved this issue. I walk in and see not only me but 7 customers who made reservations get told “ Sorry we can’t seat you for 30 or more minute”
Great value for the money
This place is great. Food is so good and one of my favorite Thai places in salt lake. Aside from the food the atmosphere is great and the attention to detail is amazing. You can tell a lot of thought went into the customer experience. Also you can’t beat the lunch special price.
I love the food here. Definitely not the best Thai food I've ever had but it's my favorite in Utah. The atmosphere is pretty weird and the service is hit or miss. Their soda is almost always flat. Still worth going for the Thai chicken cashew though. Love it.
It’s an experience be prepared haha friendly staff and yummy dessert 🤍
This place simply has the best Tai food around.
Food is superb! This place offers authentic Thai food. We ordered Tom Kah Kai, drunken noodle and crab fried rice - all dishes were delicious. The taste of the food here is very close to what you get in Thailand ( I am Thai)
Drunken noodle is my favorite!
We will definitely go back to Red Basil and try other dishes.
The place is beautiful ❤️
The food is amazing and great curry
I love thai food and have been to way too many thai restaurants. In all my travels, this place by far had the coolest atmosphere also.
Extremely Delicious authentic food
The restaurant is small, so if you're planning to come at a traditional meantime, make a reservation. Otherwise, you may wait to be seated, BUT it's so worth the wait.
These are some of the best Thai noodles and curries in the valley. The pinaple curry is amazing, it is warm and sweet, try it, you will not be disappointed. restaurant.
The atmosphere is amazing, they've gone out to give it the feel of an evening on a tropical island. Not exactly like Thailand but a great experiance all the same.
So good. Interesting concept inside but delicious food
Fantastic food and quality ingredients. I would rate this #1 Thai restaurant in Utah.
Best Thai food.. I love their drunken noodles and mango sweet sticky rice
The atmosphere was really quite something to experience! The food was just as good.
Fantastic experience. I went for the lunch special and loved it. They were very knowledgeable about what was gluten free on their menu. I got the soup of the day (egg drop soup) and the green curry and it was absolutely delicious. I did level 2 spicy (medium) and it was just the right kick of spicy. The portions were perfect. The atmosphere is really fun!! Will definitely return to try more.
Our waiter Ether gave us the best service I’ve ever had at a restaurant. He even prayed on our food for us that my dish wouldn’t be too spicy and it wasn’t. It was so delicious. He filled our water several times even though our water glasses were almost full already. He even seated us at the best spot in the restaurant right on beachfront property. He deserved a nice tip.
this is the funnest place to eat! beautiful inside!! ether was a great waiter, and made sure we had enough water and made the experience way better.
Great food! Perfect spice level. Waiter Ether is a stud!
Great service and great food.
Love this place!!!
I wanted spicy hot Pad Tye. Spicy is designated 1 to 4. I ordered 3. Next time I'm trying a 3. Fried rice and ice cream was very sweet and very good. When I am in town I will come again. Very good.
Absolute best Thai around! Green curry is the best I have ever had, but everything is amazing!
Food was disappointing for the price. Service was fair. The atmosphere. Was very nice. I would not recommend eating here.
was very good.
We had a party last night and the service was fantastic- it was a young man with curly hair serving us and he was super good! Definitely we will go back! 5 star for you young man!
Fun place to eat! Dishes are pricey compared to other Thai places but the staff is friendly and attentive and the food is good. The nam tok (waterfall) is great. I think they’d benefit from cutting down the menu, feels like they’re doing too much and some things they offer aren’t as good as their Thai dishes!
My new favorite Thai restaurant! Best massaman curry i have ever had. Also, i know it sounds weird, but the best rice i have had at a Thai restaurant.
Potstickers are so good! Had the sweet and sour chicken, and I loved it!
I love the decor and vibes of this restaurant! It's so cute, fun, and different. Restaurant is clean, food is absolutely delicious, and service is great. It does get busy during lunch on weekdays, but dinner on a weeknight wasn't as busy. I really enjoy the yellow curry! My favorite part is how cute the inside is, you gotta check it out.
We've been looking for a good Thai Restaurant for awhile and finally found it! The ambience was fun with fantastic subtle background sounds and music and good lighting.
We had green chicken curry, Thai cashew chicken and fresh spring rolls with amazing peanut sauce. All was really flavorful and so good. We can't wait to go back and bring some friends.
This is my first time here during lunch on a weekday. It is definitely way busier than I thought. The interior design is definitely very cute but a little bit too much, i.e. cheesy/dark/romantic, for a work day lunch at a Thai place. The price and portion was quite good, and the noodles I ordered was not bad too. But since it’s a full house of people, the service speed was way slower than our expectation…just reserve more time if you are coming here for lunch!
An absolutely amazing place to get lunch or dinner. Amazing varieties of curry at excellent prices.
The restaurant is open for only a few hours a day, so be sure to plan ahead.
The food was delicious, authentic Thai. It was a little dark inside. They accommodated our group of 7 with no problem. For such good food, the price was surprisingly low. We all left full and happy.
Great atmosphere, great pad Thai, ok yellow curry. I ordered the mild yellow curry and it was a bit spicy, wish it had more flavor but still good. We ordered the grilled chicken skewers and the chicken and sauce was amazing. I used that peanut sauce on the rice and curry and it helped the flavor instead of just yellow curry. I'll try a different curry next time, but this place is still amazing. A bit pricey, but awesome atmosphere.
This is such a cute place. You feel like you’re entering into a new world. Do check out the bathroom decor too. Great food. We had a yellow curry, spicy fried rice, the pad thai, and fried eggplant. The red cream soda tasted like Twizzlers. So fun!
Food tastes great and price is reasonable. Good service. Curries are watered down with limited potatoes, carrots and meat but taste is good.
The ambiance of this place is amazing! The attention to detail, dishes, food, everything was awesome! They even gave us some yummy coconut candies after the meal.
We ordered the tom yum, cashew chicken, crab fried rice, and pad thai noodles and it was all excellent! It's pretty rare to have such an enjoyable all around experience eating out. Highly recommend!
Been loving their food for years. Nothing about the flavors I love have changed since I started going about 7 years ago. Always consistent, always delicious.
I ordered takeout spent over $60 smallest portions I've ever seen from a restaurant very very disappointing I will never be ordering through them again
This is a hidden oasis. You would never know it from the outside. Inside, you will find a hidden gem of a restaurant. It is so fun inside. Eye candy, for sure. Every inch of this establishment is decorated in fun tropical decor. On one wall are massive projections of a beach ⛱️. You can sit and enjoy your food while the waves gently roll in.
The service was lightning fast. From the moment we walked into the last footsteps out the door, we were being attended to. We were blown away at how quickly our order was ready. We placed our order with Pom(who was super cute). She went to the kitchen, delivered our order to the chefs, and came back with plates and fun silverware that looked like bamboo but are metal. She filled out water 💧 and went back to the kitchen picked up our freshly prepared food we were eating in no more than 5 minutes from when we placed our order. I was floored at how fast we were enjoying these delicious dishes.
We ordered the vegetable medley and Thai Cashew Chicken. Both were wonderful. It was super cute because Pom kept suggesting the Wedgie Medley. It took me a minute to realize she was trying to say Veggie Medley. I hope she doesn't read this and change her language because it was so cute 😍😁
Food Quality and taste: Outstanding! Food presentation: wonderful. Spotless Clean! Servers: kind and very Attentive! Restaurant Decoration ( including bathrooms) : Amazing( it feels Magical as soon you enter through the door) . Also love the style of plates and utensils they use. Well done restaurant, prices $15-20. Perfect restaurant for a date. Is the best restaurant I have eaten in the past 5 years.
I eat here weekly good Thai food
Coconut ice cream dessert!😋
The best Thai food in Utah. I especially love the yellow curry. It's hard to go wrong with any of the options, never been disappointed yet.
Very beautiful Thai restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere. The food tastes fantastic.
What a fun atmosphere! = decorated like a Thai paradise (Beach and jungle)
Good food. Good portions. Nice service.
Best part = THE YUMMIEST MANGO STICKY RICE EVER!!!!! Hands down the tastiest sweet creamy coconut Thai dessert that I've ever had (& I love mango sticky rice, so I've eaten it from lots of restaurants as well as homemade).
I’ve tried a lot of Thai places in the valley. Food tonight was the best I’ve had in the south valley. Had the chicken satay, Pad Thai and Panang Curry and both tasted great. Good service as well. I’ll be coming back for sure.
I don't know how to review this, the curry is amazing, five stars for certain but my delivery came with less than half of the rice I'd expect and that rice had some of those burnt bits that aren't the best. Hard to be happy with 23$ curry with hardly enough rice for one person. With love, please do better.
My yellow curry was so watered down it was a soup at best. Very disappointed! Our first time! Awesome atmosphere though and the staff was nice!
This is the best Thai restaurant! The atmosphere is amazing, the food is excellent and it is family friendly.
The food is just amazing, they have mastered the flavors! Everything is just so delicious, and I’ve never walked away disappointed with all the various dishes I’ve tried.
Really fantastic place! I really enjoyed the atmospheric music they had, it worked well in the space and made talking a lot easier since there was no need to yell over pounding lyrics.
The food was so good! My partner said it was one of the best pad thais they've ever had. I got the yellow curry and it was perfect, just the right amount of heat but so tasty I kept coming back for another bite.
The lady working there too was an absolute sweetheart. She was attentive without being overbearing or hovering, and seemed proud to work there and of the food. Planning to bring some other people there with us next time, this place is great.
Also they gave me a -tankard- of juice rather than the usual tiny cup you get. Big plus.
Excellent food, very cool atmosphere, and good service
Red Basil was so delicious! The atmosphere is so cute too and very clean. Enjoyed their lunch special very much!
Delicious 😋 bit pricey for the portions on take out. But was yummy
Worth coming here for the atmosphere alone. The decor is very immersive. Food was great, service was great! Prices seemed fair.
Delicious drunken noodles - my favorite!
PA VISITING HERE. Food was amazing! Great service from our server with the curly hair. He was so sweet and kind!
The food is always good but I swear the portions have gotten smaller and smaller since we first went and recently they have really jacked up their prices. At their current prices, we will no longer be going there.
Really really good cuisine. We got the Pad Thai, Pad Woon Sei the glass noodles, and the Green Curry entrees along with the fried shrimp in a blanket app. Everything tasted great, authentic and made with soul. The food wasn't sloppy and the flavor profiles were well balanced. We liked that you could scale the spice level as well, thus made it more enjoyable. Service was great, they're servers were young likely owners kids that worked hard, attentive and displayed great work ethic. They're a breath of fresh air lol....
Definitely recommend this spot, will be back again. 👍
My wife and I tried Red Basil for a random Saturday date night. The atmosphere was lovely and they have a fun immersive beach theme they clearly put a lot of effort into!
We ordered the cream cheese wantons, potstickers, and the pork street kabob skewers. The pork was the star of all the appetizers but none of them disappointed
We split their signature Pad Thai and got chicken and added tofu. Their red basil sauce is no joke, it makes it too easy to inhale this thing gone. Their spice level goes from 1-5, I ordered a 4 and thought it was perfect. I've been burned in the past by other establishments just dumping excess red pepper flakes on top, here they do a heat scale empirical justice!
We finally ended on a mango sticky rice that was delicious as well.
Overall we loved our meal here and over all dining experience and can't wait to show our foodie friends this great local spot! I never thought I would find a fantastic pad Thai outside of Las Vegas but the chef here know what's up!
Everything was delicious and we only had to wait like five minutes to get our food. Our waiter was very attentive and our water glasses were never empty. I highly recommend this place.
Update: After having a great experience with both dine-in and take-out, we were excited to return. Our return visit was very disappointing. Pad Kee Mao was average, at best. The real downer was the Massaman curry. The carrots and potatoes were barely cooked and hard (inedible), which ruined the dish. When we advised the server of the problem and our disappointment, she said she would tell the kitchen staff. We hoped for an alternate dish, which was not offered. We expected to at least have the curry comped, but no discount was given. It was a terrible experience to be served a dish we couldn't eat and then have to pay for it! We'll keep looking for a consistently excellent Thai restaurant.
Lovely ambience, attentive service, and delicious food. We tried Red Curry with bamboo and Pad Thai. We have a new favorite Thai restaurant!
Love this place!the food is lovely
Gorgeous restaurant. Amazing ambience. Most delicious thai food in Utah. Perfection!
I love my friends at red basil :) super cool environment indoor and delicious food
Delicious food, incredible atmosphere. It's like something out of a dream!!
This is one of my favorite restaurants. My go to is the chicken massaman, but I enjoy asking the staff for recommendations and trying new menu items. I have always enjoyed anything I have ordered from here.
Red basil has delicious food, but the portion sizes have dwindled over the last couple of years.
Not only that, but their hours have been significantly reduced.
My girlfriend and I called on a Saturday night to order pickup at 8:30 p.m. when they close at 9:00 p.m. We were met with resistance over the phone, first by telling us they close at 9:00, then when that wasn't enough to deter us from ordering, they said we'd have to be there in 5 minutes. When I said we could be there in 5 minutes, then they said well we're out of Curry. I said that's fine I'd still like to order, and then was passed to another person who said we'd have to be there in 10 minutes. We've been on the phone for about 5 minutes at this point and could have already ordered and been on our way. We finally got our order placed and arrived as agreed in 10 minutes.
Ironically, my food was not ready when I arrived 10 minutes later. So while I waited for my food I observed what appeared to be the host walking around to guests, asking them if they needed a takeout box when it looked like they just barely sat down to eat their food. The host seems somewhat disgusted and walked back to the front desk.
When we got home and opened our food, we both ordered pineapple fried rice with chicken, which had two chunks of pineapple in each order. How can you call it pineapple fried rice if you hardly put any pineapple in it? What's going on with this restaurant?
The food was amazing great delicious flavor ,good size portions!!
Really good authentic Thai food
Best waterfall beef salad in the valley!
Interesting decor. Good service. Reasonable prices. Food was a tiny bit on the bland side, maybe just to cater to local preference.
The service every time that we have gone has been terrible.. This last time was no exception. I had to ask for water every time. My friend and I ordered the same broccoli dish just with different meats and he got twice the portion that I did. The food is just so so that we got and Since the last time that we have been in there they have taken a price increase on all the food that in my opinion is way out of line. We will never go there again as a result
I walked in and LOVED the way the place looked! The food was even better!! I did take out with a few friends and it didn’t take long at all! They even let us sit at a table and offered water. All the food tasted amazing! I’ll definitely be back often!
Great food, great people.
