I was really looking forward to a good meal and a 5 star review, but was sadly I was very disappointed. My friend and I decided to try them on a Tuesday afternoon about 4:30 pm. The restaurant was dead, we were the only guests there.

We ordered Thai Tea to drink and were served regular ice tea. For food we ordered dumplings and Chicken Satay to start. The dumplings were over-fried and hard to eat. The Chicken Satay (chicken on a stick) was fried to a crisp, dried out and hurt my teeth to eat. The Peanut sauce wasn’t served warm.

My friend ordered Chicken Larb (Chicken salad according to the staff) which had beautiful presentation but was weird in that it had peppers in it. This made it sweet not savory and that is not how traditional Chicken Larb is prepared.

I was craving Pad Thai and was sorely disappointed when it came out with crusty, dried out and off tasting tofu. The whole dish just tasted old.

When I decided to go to wash my hands the temperature in the bathrooms was 92°. Wow!

So, Instead of leaving satisfied I left not eating even half our food, bloated and nauseous. Sad to say I will never return.

Really nice people here, said they've been here about 5years. On their recommendations I ordered the Yellow Curry w/Chicken- medium spiciness. Was really pretty tasty. Appetizer of Shrimp Blanket-6, Fresh (Veggies) Rolls-2. Both were excellent and filling. Complimentary soup of the day was Egg Drop. I'll be back to try their other cuisines of sushi rolls, Chinese,, Vietnamese. Give them a try 😉

Great food. The Pad Thai was a big full serving. It's definitely worth what you pay for. I got full with my satay and made it halfway through the pad thai. An hour later, I was still snacking on it, and it was still good.
Can't wait to go back.

Update. I've been back a few times now and have enjoyed every meal. Last night, we dropped by late, about 20 mins till closing. Mrs. looked ready to go home. We asked if it was too late and said it's fine if it was. But she reassured us and took our order to go. The couple running the restaurant are always really nice and friendly.

Update: Food is still delicious! Our whole family loves this place, and my visiting friend from Illinois did too! We sat down inside to eat this time, as we wanted a nice quiet place to visit. The service was a good as the food! We were very happy with everything!

Food was super easy to order through the Yelp app and ready when I got there about 15mins later. Awesome flavor and super spicy like I wanted (I got the "super spicy - 5" level), excellent Massaman Curry! My wife also enjoyed her sesame chicken with zero spice. Very generous portions too! This good is legit, and l definitely be coming back!

The owner was very kind and personable, customer service is definitely a 10/10 and the food was delicious. He was very helpful with us making our decision and it was affordable. I def recommend this place

Got the lunch Lemon Grass dish with tofu. The veggies, tofu and rice were perfectly cooked. Not too much oil on the veggies. The only wish I have is that there was more lemongrass.
Will definitely be back to try the Curry dishes and Pad Thai.

Went here today around 2. The lady serving us was nice and attentive. But the restaurant was dead. We were the only ones there. Not a lot of selection food wise for lunch. Everything was super hot. We ordered spring rolls for an appetizer. They gave us egg drop soup also. The Bun noodles were gross. The chicken was boiled chicken with no seasonings. My husband enjoyed his pho. The whole place seemed dated, old, and dusty.

Quiet spot with tasty authentic Thai cuisine. It's near a construction job I'm working & will become part of my regular lunch rotation.

There Sushi rolls are big!! I get the California Roll deep fried and they are the most delicious Sushi I have ever had!! Actually the Cream Cheese California Roll is the best!! Also love that when I called in the owner or worker already knew me personally!!

I knew from the moment I walked in that I was going to have a great experience, and I did! The service was great and the staff were very friendly. I had the green curry spice level 4 with chicken and it hit the spot! Definitely will be one of my go to spots in San Antonio.

Came here after passing by for 5 years. Finally tried it this past Wednesday. Got the Panang Curry with pork and Thai Coffee🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 Came by the next 3 days and got the same thing. Still as good as the first time.

The Green Curry ranges in Heat from #1 to #6, and 6 being very very HOT, I chose #4, very warm, but very delicious. Next time , I will try #5 !

GOOD: Family owned, really fresh, tasty food. Dumplings, egg drop soup, California roll, and fried rice were spot on delicious. Decent portions, price was acceptable. Very clean. Felt welcomed. Variety of Asian cuisine.

Went here with my fiance on a Friday night at 6PM. No customers inside and the place is very unassuming, so we were a little hesitant, but saw the great reviews and decided to give it a try.

I will start by saying the service by the waiter was good. We did have to wait for the food longer than expected, but it was absolutely worth the wait.

We ordered the Tom yum chicken soup and it was phenomenal! So spicy and rich, it was absolutely amazing. We paired it with the crispy spring rolls and satay chicken which were all delicious.

We both wanted to spice things up more and we added a bunch of their chili powder in my lo mein and in my fiance's pad thai. It was so hearty and made my tongue burn in a good way. I feel warm in my belly and happy in my heart.

Give this place a try, I would recommend to anyone who wants some solid Asian food.

The only thing that disagreed with me was the eel sushi - but I personally think the Tom yum was AMAZING. That alone was the most delicious Tom yum I have ever eaten. The food overall was some of the best I've ever eaten.

The service is great considering that they are always swamped with Togo orders and seem like a family run restaurant. The dine in doesn't seem super popular but after covid I dont blame people! Everyone was nice, and all the food was delivered hot and yummy!

This is hands down the best Thai food I’ve had in years. The Yellow Curry was amazing! The Taro Bubble Tea w coconut milk was off the charts. They also offer plenty of vegan options for the more discerned eater. Highly recommend you try this place for some delicious Thai!

I stopped by on 11/14 for a pick up order of beef lo mein. Clearly listed on their menu. I would not recommend. The taste was horrible and didnt look right.
I cant comment on anything else since this was my first time going there.

Great food just what I needed. Kids enjoyed the orange chicken and sushi. True other dishes were great too. The spicy, good chili oil and fermented chili waitress even gave me a small container of the oil and the chilies to go. Very thankful.

The food was amazing. Was a little sad we missed out on the pai Thai but we did have Pa Woo Sen and spring and this dish that had mussels, shrimp, and squid with Yellow curry. It barely had any seafood but it was great in flavor!

Best thai place I've eaten at in quite some time. I love the variety and it all is very authentic. The owner is actually from Thailand. He says the other thai restaurant's owner isn't actually from thailand. It's a family run place and the only thing I didn't like was the music they chose to play, but otherwise it's 5 stars. I want to go back!

I rely a lot on reviews to determine where I dine. Thai Walzem Cuisine which I learned about on the next door app, was highly rated - food and customer service. To have both is rare these days. I placed an order for pickup. Got there 20 minutes later, the amount of time I was told it'd take to prepare my order. There was one man in the restaurant. I think he worked there. Either way, no one came out to greet or acknowledge us. We waited....and waited. Then called. No answer. We left and will not go back.

This is the first time trying this place. The food was spilling sauce. Sloppy way to serve curbside pick up.

I ordered the lemon grass soup with shrimp. My husband order pad woon sen. My husband totally didn't orders that. I even called again to add on a diet coke. Never got my order right nor did I get the diet coke. The dude was yelling at me so I hung up. 32.00 wasted. Never again. Please don't order from there.

Over the past couple years every I oder from them "order is wrong"! When I call to complain they get very aggressive and say it was my fualt. Customer service bad!

Why would you answer the phone and discourage my business several minutes before you close, especially in the case of carryout? I was literally down the street & called my order in (JUST DUMPLINGS!) so that I could be in and out of your hair as soon as I could to allow you to still discontinue cooking at 9. For your “food to already be put away” only means that you began shutting down BEFORE 8:50. Just say you close at 8:30, or something like that, because you’re not open to the public until 9.

I ordered through DoorDash. It seemed like a good idea until i received my food. Granted pad Thai was a big portion.. it didn’t taste very fresh and had an even weirder after taste like it wasn’t fresh. I also asked for no peanuts and still put peanuts in my order. I also had 2 side orders of spring rolls and they were super oily... definitely lost my appetite unfortunately it was my first time trying this place out and it didn’t leave a good taste in my mouth. I have it 2 stars because they did deliver at a good rate.

I really liked it. They have great curry yes I got the hottest stuff they have and I was sitting from the heat but it was good! They get a four only cuz there was nothing that sets it over the top for me granted I have only been there once, if I go again I'll update.

Their green curry is the absolute best! The chicken and eggplant were generous (some places put too much bamboo) while the broth other vegetables were a perfect amount. The flavor was everything I dream of when craving green curry. The price and portion were better than expected! I can’t wait to try other menu items!

The rice seems like it was made by someone who doesnt know how to cook rice. The rice was dry in same are and super wet in another. Rice is everything because it has to pair with the entree. If the rice is not good, the entree wont be good as well.

Best Thai restaurant!

100% this is my go to place for comfort food, I can't tell you how much the panang curry with beef hits the right spot!!! After a long week at work with everything going on I can count on Thai Walzem Cuisine to settle it!! I use Ubereats to deliver and absolutely never ever ever had a cold product!!! (How many times did you order ubereats and had to reheat your food in the microwave?!?! Not this facilities product for sure!!)

Last minute decision to go get some Pad Thai, super costly and GROSS. No flavor, smelled unappealing and looked rushed and slapped together.

Ordered a $5 Boba Tea that was also rushed, Boba was hard not “boba like”, ice chunks in the bottom.

Everything we have had here, has been fantastic. We love having options for levels of heat in our food. The only thing I wish they would bring to their menu is steamed potstickers/dumplings.

Extremely slow service. Your party will receive one meal at a time. When, after 45 minutes of waiting I told her that we only had an hour for lunch, her response was "I'm busy ". It took ten more minutes to get our food. The food is okay but not worth the wait.

This place is the best Thai place I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to a lot of them trying to find my favorite place. Their Tom Yum soup is out of this world. Highly recommend trying them out!

Thai Walzem is a delicious stop for anyone who loves Thai. The couple who runs the shop are very sweet and professional. If you're looking for a non-chain restaurant in Windcrest this is a good spot to check out.
