Mellow mainstay serving classic Thai dishes plus beer, wine & sake in an understated space.
Nidda Thai Cuisine, has been a cornerstone of authentic Thai dining since the early 1980s. This family-owned establishment offers a diverse menu that caters to both traditional tastes and those seeking new culinary experiences.
During our recent visit, we were particularly impressed by the Pad Thai, which featured a flavorful sauce and tender chicken. The red curry chicken also stood out, boasting a rich and aromatic curry that left a lasting impression.
The ambiance at Nidda Thai Cuisine is both cozy and inviting, complemented by attentive and friendly staff who ensure a pleasant dining experience. Whether you’re a fan of traditional Thai dishes or eager to explore new flavors, this restaurant caters to all palates.
Really great place for a meal! We were there later on a Thursday evening and not many people so the atmosphere was great.
Loved the pad Thai noodles. They were thin and tasty and I think the best Ive ever had.
The music was low enough to enjoy conversation and the place was clean with friendly staff. Definitely recommend
We were starving after the wind storm in June and we saw this place open. So glad we stopped here because this place is beautiful inside! The decorations are gorgeous, they made it feel as if you are in Thailand which is so great. The service was good and we sat down quickly, our appetizers came out fast and so did our food afterwards. The food was incredibly delicious, all of it tasted fresh and full of flavor. We loved it here and can't wait to come back and try more!
I stopped in at Nidda Thai for a Saturday lunch before doing some things around Montrose.
The inside is so cute and peaceful. Soft Thai ballads are playing, there's greenery, fountains, soft pastel coloring, and good lighting - well thought out decor that transports you to Thailand. There's a bar inside as well.
I had the crispy, spring rolls, jasmine tea and the green curry with shrimp (it's pretty mild but likely made for the American palate, I'm sure you could ask for a hotter level). The curry was very tasty, one of the better ones I've had in Houston, and just what I needed on an overcast, cool day.
The service was excellent, the waiter was very attentive and courteous. I'd be inclined to come back again.
My sister and I enjoyed several delicious dishes on Valentine’s Day. We were warmly greeted by a hostess and waiter. Our meals were served in a timely manner. The freshly prepared and colorful dishes tasted amazing and authentic. The mango and coconut sticky rice dessert, a balance of sweet and salty, is highly recommended.
Great food and atmosphere Wonderful staff!!. Delicious Som Tum. One of the best Thai restaurants in the city!! Khap khun khap!
OMG THIS MY 2nd time here & in beyond satisfied you got to get over here and try thm out & if you hv peanut allergies they accommodate you
Disgusting bathrooms I can't use as driver
Bathrooms are nasty. Service is horrible. Food is overpriced.
Great food and funny waiter
Best Thai food!! 🥘
Delicious Thai food🔥🔥
Great customer service very nice and good are great very helpful
This restaurant has great service and the food is delicious! Very great atmosphere as well, flowers and greenery everywhere!
10/10, that’s all you need to know
🫶🏼
Nidda Thai is a pretty restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The waitstaff was very kind and welcoming, with soft low music playing. It has nice big windows too. For my first time here I tried the drunken noodles and asked for it extra spicy, and they delivered! I forgot to snap a photo. It was not my personal favorite, 6/10, but I did also get the Thai tea which was FIRE 10/10. It’s possible I’ll like another dish way more next time. I look forward to trying out the yellow curry. I had the mango sticky rice which I really liked. It comes with coconut milk!
This place is amazing and they know flavors: salt, acid, sweet and heat. Service is prompt and friendly, music low in the background. Try the Chu Chee eggplant!
Amazing food and great service.
Been coming here for two years and it never disappoints. Great service and great food!
Very good! Juicy! Yummy! Wonderful! Perfect! Tasty!
Good and quiet thai restaurant
We eat here pretty frequently and it never disappoints. Their vegetarian menu is pretty inclusive too. I recommend the yellow curry with tofu!
Thai fried rice was very good!
Fantastic food. Curry sauce was soooo good. Also had the pad Thai and fried rice. Both fantastic
This place has recently become one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Houston. The food is very flavorfu, the atmosphere is great, and the service is top notch! Highly recommend trying it.
Food is consistently good here. Been multiple times. Great for dates. Good atmosphere.
I love this place. I ordered noodle salad, pork belly and soft crab curry. All dishes are taste good.
Nidda Thai is the best! Their pad si ew is delicious and their curries are all wonderful! Try the Tom Kha Gai! Cheese rolls and seaweed salad are tip top! A local gem! Total banger!
Great little cozy spot in the heart of Montrose. The food is always fresh and tastes really good. The service is top notch. We found this little gem by chance and it’s our date night and special occasion go to..
Our favorite Thai dinner spot! Food and service are wonderful!
SOOO TASTY
This has always been our go-to for authentic Thai food. It is always hot and fresh and the service never disappoints either. 10/10 recommend.
Love this restaurant
Great customer service!!! fast service I love it here i’ve been coming for years!!!
Nice restaurant!
i found this place in 2021 and have become a regular. as much as i want to keep this place lowkey, it makes me sad to come in and see empty seats.
the food is beyond delicious (every time) and the staff is always kind. the tim kha gai soup is the best i’ve ever had and imo hands down the best in houston. the curries, the pad see ew, the chicken larb, the pad thai - i’ve never eaten something here i didn’t like.
can’t say enough about this place ❤️❤️
Great food
I have been dining at this restaurant before and after the remodel and will continue to do so. This is by far the best Thai food in Houston.
The food was amazing, everything cooked to perfection; and our waiter Nicolas was very attentive! We will definitely come back!
Always yummy and Nicolas rocks!
Wonderful experience! We chose to come during lunchtime and the service and food were phenomenal. Ate more than I intended and even ordered dessert (sticky rice with mangoes) cause relaxed environment and aromatic dishes gave an overall delicious experience.

Good food
Absolutely scrumptious!!! The best Thai tea!!!
I come to Nidda often.
The food and overall experience has been always amazing.
I strongly recommend it to anyone who appreciates Thai cuisine.
Love this place! My favorite Thai in Houston.
Best pad thai in town 👍🏽 have been coming to this place forever and they have beautiful plants
Food was good, not the best I’ve had around here. The service was awesome and my water glass was never empty. The atmosphere is pretty chill.
they do everything fairly well. the food is nice, staff is friendly, and prices are reasonable.
Nidda thai cuisine has great food! Fresh ingredients, great spices, and exceptional service. I look forward to coming back here. Their desserts are out of this world.
Excelente lugar! La comida deliciosa y el servicio excelente!!
Recomendado 100%
Absolutely loved the food! The flavors were vibrant, authentic, and perfectly balanced. The Pad Thai was a delightful & the Golden Chicken is a perfect blend of tumeric & sweet.
the food is great and the vibe is really cute.
great food and kind friendly service

We enjoyed our curries here and will be back!
The food is amazing! I love the environment good atmosphere.
Edit: their response just proves the point I was making in my review
I don’t appreciate the owner giving me a long lecture on how I should spend my money when I was just picking up food, especially when I ordered takeout from a platform that doesn’t charge restaurants any fees. Food wasn’t anything special. I’ll save my money by no longer patronizing this establishment.

The freshly prepared and colorful dishes tasted amazing and authentic. The mango and coconut sticky rice dessert, a balance of sweet and salty, is highly recommended.
Excellent food - we enjoyed the red curry, drunken noodles, papaya salad and fresh spring rolls! We will come back
Thank you Bruce Lee for the excellent service!
I have been coming to this place for two years and the quality never disappoints. Here’s what I love:
Drunken noodle w/chicken
Thai tea
Any fried rice
Mango sticky rice
Very delicious and authentic Thai restaurant. Highly recommend!
Great energy feel welcome like home 💌
Chuchee eggplant. Thank me later
Great place to eat!! Food is great! Customer service was very top notch! Highly recommend this place.
Wow, jjj, what good service and very good food, especially the waiter Nicolás, a good guy, I will go more often
I don't like the way they address people and the inappropriate restriction on bathroom use.
Very rude and indecent, you wonder if you are going to eat or if you are a delivery person to go to use the bathroom and the food lacks flavor, bad experience
Great service and food. Owner was nice
Food is delicious and our favorite place to go to for a quick bite.
Nice atmosphere. Must try Pad Thai period!!
Favorite Thai restaurant downtown!
Lazy waiters.... never come by unless u scream out to them.
Food is delicious
Flavor was good but asked for medium spicy and there no spice. Asked for some spicy to add and they gave me a red sauce that wasn't spicy either. :(
Great portions. It needed a little more flavor on the chicken in the Pad Thai. The fresh spring rolls were very good. I would love to visit again.
I hade the chance to visit Nidda, the highlight was the service, Melissa was so kind to attend me, I haven't tried much Thai cuisine and she was very helpful with some different suggestions, I ended up choosing on of the noodle plates plus a Thai tea which was delicious and she was very attentive as well as the rest of the team.
Enjoyed meeting the owner, terrific Chu Chee and Thai toast. Loved the sticky rice mango for dessert. One out favorite places to eat.
Really didn’t want to leave this review but unfortunately felt like I needed to. Last night my boyfriend and I ate here, Nidda usually is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in all of Houston. The food tasted weird this time, not as flavorful and just had something off about it, was super disappointed but didn’t think much about it, thinking maybe it was just an off day for them or maybe they had a different cook than they usually have. A few hours when I got home my tummy started hurting REALLY bad, which then turned into a terrible case of food poisoning. Originally I wasn’t gonna leave a review about being disappointed with the cuisine but becoming sick I changed my mind. Super sad about the whole thing but unfortunately I don’t think I could eat Pad Si Ew or Thai food in general for a longgg time. :(
Waited exactly 40 minutes for pad thai with chicken and beef. Some reviews mention slow service, and it’s true. Person who took my order provided good service, but the kitchen had a misunderstanding that caused the long wait time. When I ordered, there was a table of 5, a table of 2, and a table of 1 in the restaurant but they had all eaten already. 2 people placed togo orders 20 minutes after mine, and their food was done before mine. I was probably the only order but it still took 40 minutes. Didn’t speak to a manager but I hope they read this
Chu Chee was TERRIFIC!! Continues to be our favorite. Add sticky rice mango to our ever growing list of favorite dishes
I ordered the tiger cry and it was a very refreshing and filling plate. The meat was cooked beautifully and the veggies on the side added a nice lightness leaving me feeling satisfied. The ambience in the restaurant is also great. Very calming, a great place to just relax a bit.
Great food and good prices
Wonderful Thai gem in Montrose.
Great good perfect severs
What happened to this place? When I worked downtown it was twice a week lunch spot. Found myself in the area and stopped in…not even close to what it used to be. Not worth the trip.
Cute little spot that has been around for a long time. Most dishes are pretty tasty. Service can be a little slow sometimes but the staff is nice. Every time we go, the establishment is clean and neat.
Great Thai in Houston with the very best service. We came once with friends and stayed as loyal customers. Love the peanut sauce!
Amazing food!! Try it. Everything we had was great. Great customer service too.
The food is absolutely fantastic
The food was delicious however the service was not. The server George was very unfriendly and barely said 4 words to us. He did not check on us while we were eating, never refilled our water but refilled the table next to us and whenever I said “ thank you “ for something he never said anything back. Didn’t say have a nice night, literally said nothing. But had lots to say to the white people at the other tables. Same for the older gentleman who was working with him. We were sat down first and another couple came in after us and he skipped us to give them water first . George sat at the table staring us down and folding napkins instead of coming to check on us, do better. Will not be returning
Wonderful Thai and good service
Amazing Thai food and the service was great! The funny thing is I often juge food places by how clean the bathrooms are. This place is very clean!! If you like Thai food and don't mind paying a little more, this is the place.
Authentic, cozy, delicious. No pics because I’m greedy and forgot to take one.
Order via Uber and delayed one hour, then they charge me anyway even cancelled
Loved the food and the ambience. If you like spicy food - you would not be disappointed.
Delicious vegan options 🌱🥰
Really great place for a meal! We were there later on a Thursday evening and not many people so the atmosphere was great.
Loved the pad Thai noodles. They were thin and tasty and I think the best Ive ever had.
The music was low enough to enjoy conversation and the place was clean with friendly staff. Definitely recommend
Charlie our server was amazing!!! He’s always amazing, great food great service! Would definitely recommend this restaurant
Nidda is great in general and really great for vegetarians because there are a lot of options (spring rolls , curries, pad Thai, and so much more) and they’ve been 1 of my go to places for a very long time because they treat vegetarians right!
I recently visited this place for Lunch. I liked their Pineapple fried rice, red and yellow curry.
Got the lunch special- Red Curry Chicken Noodle , level 4 spicy. DELICIOUS! 1st time trying Nidda !
I had Nidda Thai before after they remodel. The food was okay this time around. The mocktail I had was exceptional. The curry noodle tofu chicken beef was great! All the other dishes. Massamam curry and Pad see ew was mediocre at best. Can't say I ll go back. Nidda Thai back in the day was so popular. Now at 5p we were the only ones in the restaurant. Disappointing.
I like thai food, it makes going to the restroom as a white man interesting.
Nidda looks like a tent when you enter and are seated. If you ever wished you were eating Thai food in the Weasley’s magical tent, this is the place friends! The music was borderline Asian exotica and there were lots of animal sounds. My Wife tried the drunken noodles and they were absolutely spectacular. I had the Salmon curry with avocado which was featured on their “special menu.” The salmon was flaky, but could use more seasoning. Alejandro, our server was very friendly and did not hover, but was quick to refill water.
Simply the best Thai in Houston.
Bravo to Alejandro. He knows what customer service is.
Very nice spot. I didn't dine in, but still gave 5 stars for the atmosphere rating because I was impressed by the decor and the layout when I went in to get the food.
I'm a photographer, I went into Nidda Thai and met the owner who agreed to let me come in and take photos of their food. I'd promise to post to my IG, but this review isn't something she's expecting and it's from my true experience with Nikki and Nidda Thai. I basically came home, edited some photos and got to writing this review.
I first came to Nidda Thai because I was looking for a spontaneous restaurant close to my home. We came across it online, and we ordered safe: I had the chicken in garlic sauce, and we ordered the Drunken Noodles. I went it, picked it up and got it home still hot. The food was fantastic. i'm a fan of chicken in garlic sauce, and let me suggest that if you are too, you have to try this dish. Garlic is present in a nice sauce over rice and chicken, that all the other dishes i've tried in the city don't compare.
The drunken noodles were superb, spicy as they should be, and the noodles and protein portions were sufficient to fill my appetite and then some.
After taking photos today, trying different dishes, and chatting it up with the owner and the staff, Nidda Thai has become my new favorite restaurant in town, even though it's been there for 14 years.
Here's what you should get.
1. Pork Belly (for sure)
2. Drunken Noodles
3. Chicken in Garlic Sauce
4. Tom Yum
5. Glass Noodles and Shrimp dish (Can't remember the name)
6. Soft Shell Crab over Curry and veg.
I'd recommend going into this little quaint thai restaurant, order some drinks, get dessert, the Taro dessert is fantastic.
My new favorite to go to. Love theirs green curry with baby bamboo and tofu.
Best thai in town. I personal get the thai ginger lover. Very taste!! George is one of best waiters this side the Mississippi. I eat here as often as I can!! Thank you!!!
First, the atmosphere in Nidda Thai is so lovely. Music, plants, chandeliers, and artwork - all lovely. Most importantly the food was delicious. We got the Drunken Rice, Crispy Spring Rolls, and Tom Kha Gai Soup. Definitely recommend! The icing on the cake was the Thai tea; I was so happy to see that on the menu. Also, our server was very nice. Will come again, for sure!
Excellent food, everything is hot and fresh. The pad eggplant and chu chee are some of my favorites!
This is my go to Thai in Houston
I went to this Thai restaurant a couple of years ago and the food was absolutely scrumptious. The only reason I’m giving this place a four star review is because the prices are something that I could not afford with my family and we really enjoy Thai food, especially for special occasions.and that is saying that we would pay expensive prices. This is in the Montrose area also which is kind of far from where I am so if you live in the Montrose area, I’m sure that you can afford it. As always much love from Houston and the universe.
Had two really good lunch specials. Service was great and everyone was nice. You will find better Thai more SW of the city but for the Montrose area this is one of the best spots to eat for a casual and tasty and not too expensive meal for sure. Next time I have to try the Tom Kha.
Amazing Thai food! I consider myself a pad Thai connoisseur and this was fantastic. Also the best fresh rolls I think I have ever had. Tried everyone’s food at the table and not one thing was short of delicious. Can’t wait to go back
We had ordered Pad see Ew, pad woon sen and the fried tilapia. I thought the food was pretty good although the Pad see ew and pad woon sen tasted very similar with a slight difference in the ingredients in it. The tilapia was not what I had expected so that was so so. Service was great and they had come check on us often. But one thing to watch out for is when you get the signature sign, to make sure that the tip is not prefilled. They said that the machine accidentally did so at times. 🤷♀️
Very good food!! One of my favorites!
Crema cheese spring roll item was excellent, could've eaten just those for dinner! Boyfriend for pad Thai which he said wasn't spicy at all and was disappointed. I got drunken fried rice which I enjoyed. Service was decent, a little slow to refill waters and check in on us but not awful. I'd return if in the area.
I’ve been a regular at Nidda Thai Cuisine for years and it’s hands down the best Thai food in Houston. Their Papaya Salad and Pad Thai are standout dishes, always fresh and flavorful. Great atmosphere for any occasion. Highly recommend to anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine!
EL RESTAURANTE ES MUY BUENO. LOS DAMPLING SON ESQUISITOS Y SOBRE TODO EL TAI
FERRARI
The restaurant is cute, but I found both the tofu pad see ew and the thai fried rice to be lacking in flavor, and the food was not spicy at all & the tofu tasted like paper. I also like to have chinese broccoli be used instead of regular broccoli like they did here, but that's just my personal preference. What I found most upsetting was that our takeout boxes were only about halfway full, and the boxes themselves weren't that big. There are many other thai restaurants in Houston that have better flavors and portions. I did like the thom kha, though.
We ordered food, which was good but not enough for one person and the price was high compared to the amount received.
Best Thai food I had in Texas!
Nidda that cuisine is simply amazing. I know the location makes it hard to notice but if this pulls up on your searches, go immediately! The food is always amazing. The portions are smaller than other places but still is enough for you to share. My go to order is always red curry, drunkem noodles & this fish( I forget name) but soooo delicious! It's never crowded at odd hours but it does get busy at peak times! I almost would vote this as my favorite Thai place but would need to try other places.
Nice atmosphere, very clean restroom, Wait staff gave good recommendation and service. Food was flavorful Thai authentic cuisine, very tasty and feel satisfied
Delicious, 10 stars
Buen lugar para comer y tomar, las bebidas están dulces y frescas. El arroz frito también estuvo delicioso. Lo mejor de todo es que está todo a buen precio 👌
This place is bad, just avoid it. We ordered fresh rolls, curry, and pad thai. We asked for no egg on the pad thai because I can’t eat eggs.
The curry came first, after a 40min wait. And we still didn’t have plates or spoon so it sat getting cold for 10min as we waited for the plates and spoons we asked for 3 times. Next the pad thai came with egg on it, so we sent it back. Next after the curry was finished, the fresh rolls came after my dad got up to ask for them. They tasted not fresh. Finally our pad thai came with no egg (but egg smell) and the noodles were chewy as if they had been microwaved. My dad went to use the restroom and on my way saw in the kitchen someone removing egg pieces one by one off of a plate of pad see ew. Thats when we realized we got our original pad thai, eggs individually removed and it must have gotten cold, so they microwaved it; hence, the chewiness.
Gross.
I recently enjoyed a meal at Nidda's with my exhange student from Thailand. We've visited a few other Thai restaurants in town, but as soon as we walked in the door of Nidda, she commented that it like she was back home. She really enjoyed the food as well. It has remained at the top of her list for homecooking as we continue our Houston Thai adventure. Thank you Nidda for staying true to your Thai-ness :) Also, my student requests adding Som Tum (Papaya Salad) to your menu.
Good food! Very nice service!
The food is good and the restaurant had a nice vibe. But the service is not great. If you order take out, double check your food and receipt before leaving.
I LOVE their drunken noodle! Although it’s surprisingly (unusually) spicy. If you have a low tolerance, make sure you be wise about your choice of spice level.
Their appetizers are good too. I especially love their interior design and decor (really cute vibes).
Would def love to revisit!
Food was great
I like that the staff is friendly
I came here for my mother's birthday and we're supposed how everything was. The staff are great and helpful. My favorite is the Massaman Curry which I definitely recommend! Highly recommend this place and will be back!
This is my favorite Thai place. Everything I've ever ordered is good. But the last time I went here I was given a 35 minute wait by their online orders system, which is already kinda long. Then I had to wait an extra 19 minutes, despite there only being 3 tables with people and only one takeout order in that time. They also forgot an item, I only realize when I got home. Hopefully they will improve this.
I ate dinner here with my family for my brother’s birthday because he loves spicy food (spice levels are perfect). The staff are amazing, very attentive, friendly and helpful. The environment is just so chill and the decorations are very nice. Highly recommend and will be back!
The food is so so good. I've been eating there for years and I can't get enough. My favorite is the drunken chicken with fried toast and cucumber salad. It's life changing.
Great food. I had the ginger beef and it was tasty.
Clean and pretty establishment.
Love their Tom Kha soup!
Nidda was good. The food was tasty. Parking was easy. A pretty good place.
First time trying Nidda and was first struck by the gorgeous restaurant interior. I picked up my order to go but would absolutely return to dine in.
I ordered the fresh rolls with tofu and medium spicy green curry with vegetables and added eggplant. The rolls were wrapped in soft, chewy rice paper and packed with delicious fresh vegetables (4.5/5). The green curry had fantastic flavor and the right amount of spice, was not too rich or oily, stocked with vegetables and eggplant was well cooked but not soggy (5/5). I will absolutely be returning!
Pad see ew & chicken Thai salad were delicious! Will definitely come back!!
It is a warm, friendly and clean place to eat delicious food!
This is my go to Thai spot. I love the pad see ew and coconut curry here. The food is delicious, the service is great and price is great.
I hoped for more and was disappointed
The atmosphere is wonderful. The food is amazing and the customer service is great! I definitely recommend eating here!
Terrible restaurant and long wait
Solid Thai spot with great Thai iced tea, mango sticky rice and lunch specials.
Dropped in for lunch time and food was quick and delicious.
If the mango sticky rice is in season, don't miss out on it, 100%
