Came here during a girls trip and had a wonderful experience! We had a large group but the reservation process was super easy and they were ready for us when we arrived. The servers were very kind and the food came out pretty quickly! We all really enjoyed our meal. Highly recommend the green curry and if you like spicy, they will deliver! The place also has cute photo ops inside and outside.

I cannot rave enough about our first visit to The Garden Thai in downtown Galveston. Arriving close to their break time, around 2:45 PM, we were greeted with such kindness and hospitality by the owner, who graciously allowed us to place a final order before they closed for a break. Her warmth and efficiency set the tone for what turned out to be a truly outstanding dining experience.

We started with the Tom Yum Soup, opting for the Thai hot spicy version. Let me tell you, it was hands down the best soup we've ever had – bursting with flavors that danced on our taste buds. We also ordered the Eggplant Curry, Cashew Nut Curry, Pad Thai, and Veg Fried Rice. Each dish was a revelation, with rich, complex flavors that exceeded our expectations in every way.

The staff was incredibly attentive and swift, ensuring we had everything we needed without delay. We were so impressed with the quality of both the food and the service that we are planning a return visit with our family before we leave Galveston.

Still so many things I want to try on their menu. I got their drunken noodles, my mom got the ka pow, my dad was still full from lunch but tried their Thai donuts and he said they were delicious. I’ve been a fan of this Thai spot for a while — the food is always reliably good. However, I had a frustrating experience with a takeout order tonight. After driving home, I got a call from the restaurant saying they had given me the wrong order and asked me to drive back to swap it. While I understand mistakes happen, it was disappointing that there was no effort to make up for the inconvenience beyond a simple apology. A small gesture would have gone a long way in showing they value their customers’ time.

The food remains solid, but I hope they improve their customer service.

Very impressed! I called in an order for takeout, but when I arrived, the inside of the restaurant was so stunning that I wanted to stay and eat in the restaurant. The hostess graciously replated my food from to go boxes to dine in plates. I got the Khao soi with tofu. It was so flavorful by itself, but the garnish items added so much to the experience. HIGHLY recommend checking out this place if you want quality Thai food in Galveston.

I am obsessed with this place! The tofu rolls are so fresh and paired with the peanut sauce is amazing. The drunken noodles are another favorite. The service is lovely. You just can’t go wrong with this place.

I genuinely don’t know if I’ve ever had better Thai food. I’ve been vegan for almost 10 years now, and my lord do these angels know what they’re doing in the kitchen. My partner and I were in Galveston for a week and got dinner here twice. One bite into our first meal we both concluded we had to come back to try more dishes. Between the two of us, we had the white peach sake, pear sake, fried tofu appetizer, vegan tofu pad thai, vegan tofu panang curry, vegan tofu green curry, and vegan tofu prik king. All of the food was freakin flawless. So flavorful, perfectly balanced, large portions, obviously made to order, and so. stinking. good. Probably the best pad thai i’ve had in my life, and satisfied my craving for thai green curry perfectly. There were two ladies working front of house both times that we came in for dinner. If you expect your food to manifest in front of you instantaneously, you’ll want to prepare yourself to be patient. I wouldn’t call the service slow, but it’s a small-ish place and they get a lot of traffic, plus phenomenal food takes time. We will 1,000,000% be back anytime we are in Galveston. I don’t think I’ve thanked members of food service as profusely as I did these amazing people.

Everything about this restaurant is amazing. The space is absolutely beautiful and clean. The staff very attentive. We had the gyoza, tom yum, red curry and the khao soi and we ate every last bit. One of the best Thai places we have ever had. We are so glad to add this restaurant to our regular list of eats! 5 stars well deserved.

The noodles was too sweet, actually all food was very sweet. To me it’s a kind of horrible food taste, I don’t like the food personally. However they provide very good service, the girl was very kind and friendly.

The staff, especially Chelsea and Jay, are exceptionally friendly.
The food is very flavorful and delicious.
I usually order the Cashew Nuts, Prik King (it’s spicy), or the Pad Thai with chicken.
The veggie spring rolls are a really good appetizer.
The best part is the large portions.
The whole restaurant environment is nice.
Every single person I’ve recommended this place to has loved it.
Even though I no longer live in Galveston, I still drive 1 hour and 30 minutes just to eat here.
I 100% recommend this place!

This place was so awesome that we went there two evenings in a row. We invited our newly found niece on the second night. We're from out of town. Loved the food. The Thai milk tea was sensational with whatever we ordered. The spring rolls light, heavenly and filling. The people were personal and professional. I don’t typically leave reviews but this restaurant is that good. Its actually my absolute favorite restaurant. I live in north Houston and will drive in to galveston to eat here. Service, quality of food and overall vibe of the restaurant are 10 out of 10. Ive gotten multiple different dishes from here and each one has been fantastic. You literally cant go wrong!

I recently dined at Garden Thai and had a mixed experience. Nice clean area however, the Pad Thai noodles had an unusual sticky and slimy texture that I wasn't expecting, which was quite off-putting. Additionally, I was surprised to find out that there were no refills on the lemonade, resulting in an $8 charge! This should of been mentioned when ordered. The taste of the food was decent, but the overall experience was marred by these issues. I might give another dish a try in the future, but it’s not at the top of my list right now.

The atmosphere of the place and the service make your visit become great since the first interaction, food is amazing, full of real flavors and freshness. We had the Som Tum and the Beef Panang Curry, and for dessert we got the Mango Sticky Rice. All this experience became even more delightful thanks to our server Chelsea, she guided us through the menu and made suggestions according to what we wanted to eat. She was amazing.

The food is really delicious and I keep ordering the ginger dish when I go.
I like going at 11am when they open so it is less busy. The staff are very nice. I just wish the music was quieter or turned off but otherwise I enjoy eating there. The inside is beautiful and well decorated.

Absolutely perfect both times we have went. Very quiet and relaxing in there. Everything we've tried has been absolutely wonderful. Definitely have to get the Crab Rangoons and they are by far the best we've had anywhere. Pad Thai is also a great dish. Will definitely be returning!

Vacationing in Galveston, we broke away from the usual Texas food and decided on Thai. The Garden Thai Cuisine has a nice cool and clean environment. We had the Pineapple Curry with chicken and fresh vegetable spring rolls. The flavor was fantastic and very satisfying! I had hot ginger honey tea that was out of this world. Will definitely return when we come back to Galveston.

This is the only Thai on the island and honestly the best restaurant of any genre on the island. I rarely give such rave reviews of a place but this is well deserved.

We just had lunch here before boarding our 7 days cruise. We had Thai Fried Rice and Yellow Curry with Chicken. The food was nicely presented and delicious. The price was reasonable as well. The staffs were friendly and helpful. We will come again. Highly recommended.

We walked out of our room at the Tremont and decided to try this beautiful restaurant instead of selecting a place on the Strand. However, hostess would not allow us to use the restroom! Lady doing too much for us, so we simply found Hearsay instead. Loved Hearsay - food was awesome! And they allow use of the restroom before ordering. Thai is our favorite cuisine but not sure if we'll try Garden Thai again with their absence of polite staff 😞

Never written a review before, but this place made me! It is SO GOOD. I cannot stress that enough. Everything is so well seasoned, and so tasty. I ordered the curry puffs and the drunken noodles. Curry puffs are a MUST. I also asked the very nice waitress to surprise me with her favorite cold sake (which turned out to be white peach), and the sake is… so dangerous. It barely tastes like alcohol. The atmosphere itself is relaxing. Outside feels nice with the grass, trees, flowers, soft music and fairy lights. The portions are also large, so expect to go home with leftovers! 10/10 experience. Definitely try if you enjoy spicy food.

We have eaten at many Thai restaurants across the country and this one was one of the very best. The service was quick, and the food delicious and fresh. Also the owner can out and spoke with us. Great experience.

So happened to pass the restaurant one day while at the Strand. Took hubby a week later. We've never had Thai food so it was all a new experience..food was absolutely fabulous! I am not a spicy kinda girl and although mine was still a bit to much ( even at mild ) it was super flavorful and cooked perfect. Hubby had the pork ribs and they were also delicious. Staff was very friendly and helped answer all our questions. Will become a must everytime were here.

Food was incredible!! Ordered to go and we were so impressed. Portions were large and the food was 110%. We ordered the Pad Thai with Chicken and Shrimp. We did order 3 different appetizers to try since this was our first time eating here and were so glad we did- the Shrimp Tempura was FIRE!!! Without a doubt, they have mastered the Curry Puffs. So in love!!!! Will definitely be back in the future.

Didn't find the spot much kid friendly, maybe the outdoor would've been good but it was raining, so we don't know. However, they did put a service charge of 18% for a group of 5, which included 2 adults and kids between 2 and 9yr Olds.

My partner and I have never had better Thai food in our lives. We never would have thought that the best Thai food in Houston is in Galveston.

The Garden is a quaint little establishment tucked away in the corner of an apartment complex; though unassuming, the quality of its food is truly otherworldly.

The calamari was alright; it was calamari, done relatively well, with a nice outer coating. Paired with the sweet and spicy sauce, it was a tasty, though uninspired, appetizer.

The Tom Kha soup was very delicious; rich, flavorful, and masterfully seasoned, this soup was perfect for the cold wet evening we had during this meal. This soup contained mushrooms, onions, and chicken. This is a must get item.

The Khao Soi was also very delicious. Also rich and flavorful, the khao soi had a similar flavor profile to the tom kha, being vaguely sweet with a hint of spice. However, notably, the khao soi was spicier, and contained egg noodles. The addition of egg noodles perfectly rounded out the dish. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the texture of the broth was delightfully thick.

The pad thai, however, was the best dish of the night and the favorite of both my partner and I. I have never, ever had better pad thai and I've eaten a lot of pad thai. The texture of the pad thai noodles was unlike any other pad thai noodle I have ever eaten. Perfectly bouncy, the noodles were a joy to eat, paired with the sweet sauce pad thai is known for. However, this sauce was not too strong or pungent in its flavor; it was a relatively tame sweetness with a tamarind profile; a perfect combination of sweet and tangy. The shrimp were okay, but the pad thai itself most definitely outshined the shrimp. This dish is a must order.

The Garden is a must visit for any thai enthusiast or anyone who hasn't enjoyed thai food before. Its dishes are both satisfying to seasoned thai eaters as well as approachable for those without high spice tolerance. Do yourself a favor and dine here.

We honestly stumbled upon Garden Thai while walking the streets of downtown Galveston. Amazing food (Ka Pow is a must!), lovely decor, and the staff have the best customer service! Can’t wait to come back!

Awesome food, good lunch menu

Almost $20 for chicken green curry... Small portions, food is mid. If they calm down with their prices maybe i would consider eating here again or recommending it. Sorry, never paid more than $10-12 for rice, curry and a few pieces of chicken in a majority of the country.

Why can’t we give 6 stars? This is a fantastic little restaurant with such good food. We had the green curry and pad thai and both were so delicious. The service was quick and professional and friendly. We had an early dinner so it was pretty quiet. The restaurant is small and quaint with a bright atmosphere We will definitely be back.

One of our favorite spots in Galveston! The Red Curry is to die for. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here last March & it was absolutely fabulous. If you are looking for a spot to host your next private event at I definitely would consider Garden Thai!

OMGosh!! Amazing food, friendly service (excellent waitress) and a beautiful setting. We ordered all vegan and we were not disappointed. The Pad Thai is some of the BEST we have ever eaten…. The other reviews are spot on. Worth every penny.

This is THE place for authentic Thai food. Delicious! And wonderful attentive service. Just not five stars due to atmosphere— lighting for dinner is way too bright. Chairs are noisy but can be easily remedied by installing felt chair slides to the bottom of the legs. Cheers!! We’ll be back!

Lovely little Thai place with good food and atmosphere.

Solid food and nice atmosphere. Curries were excellent (both green and yellow). Pad thai was very sweet vs what I'm used too. Might be fine for some, but I didn't like it. All our appetizers (coconut shrimp, spring rolls, chicken satay) were also very good. A little expensive for what you get. If in the mood for thai, you won't be disappointed.

Order the spicy catfish with sticky rice, out of this world. I personally HATE fish but once i tried this i instantly fell in love, best fish ive ever had.

Such a cute, welcoming restaurant!! Not only do they have great Thai food and sauces were flavorful, the atmosphere of the restaurant is great for photos both inside and outside. Beautifully decorated and they have a well-kept patio area outside looking out to downtown Galveston

Excellent service and good food

Dropped in on a late Sunday evening. Restaurant was busy and it was clear that they were short staffed as there were only two people visible and they were constantly moving. We set our expectations accordingly. We were surprised at how fast they were able to bring the drinks and appetizers given only two people. The food came soon after. We ordered 3 dishes with expectations of leftovers. We could have ordered two dishes and had leftovers as the portions were huge. All 3 of our dishes were extremely good. From the num tok to the eggplant to the ka pow. Spice levels were good especially the beef and lots of flavor. We walked away very impressed with the setting, the food and the service. Definitely would recommend it as a place to go to in Galveston.

Remember the old Phoenix bakery in the early 2000 and also Shrimp n Stuff Downtown’s home? Well the only Thai restaurant in Galveston is here downtown and is a must visit whenever you are on the island. The place is cute and cozy and the servers are super friendly. I enjoy their red curry, chicken satay and pad Thai! Big portions!

Our apartment does not have a garden, so I enjoy coming to eat on the terrace outside with green grass and beautiful trees. The chef, George, is from Thailand and seasons his food perfectly, with lovely flavor . I had the garlic which was a medley of vegetables in an exquisite sauce with sliced beef, and enjoyed every bite. Hubby had the duck and loved it, so we anticipate coming several times a month,

One of my favorite restaurants from my week in Galveston! Shrimp Pad Thai was so flavorful and fresh with a generous portion. Delicious wontons. Everything felt clean including the restroom which really makes a difference for the experience, and the staff was all very kind and prompt, even offering to take a photo for us with the lovely backdrops and running after us when we forgot our leftovers. Another table ordered something that came in a fresh pineapple- I’d love to try that! Would definitely recommend!

Although I love the food and have eaten here often, I wanted a nice sit down meal
at Garden Thai. I walked in at 2:31 today knowing that they close for lunch at 3:00. A woman server came out of the bathroom and asked if I was picking up a door dash order and I explained that I would be dining in, table for one. She looked at her watch (which read 2:32) and exclaimed that they were closing soon and she could not seat me. In front of two diners enjoying their meal. What has happened to the restaurant business for her to be so rude to a walk-in customer some thirty minutes before advertised closing hours? They lost my business and my potential generous tip. Never again.

The cashew chicken is excellent, crab rangoons were very good but I prefer a little more filling. Pad Thai is very good. Excellent service & great atmosphere ♥️

We stopped at the Garden and were very pleasantly surprised. We are both huge fans of Thai food and this ranks as some the best we have ever had. We had the Pineapple Curry and the Ka Pow Kai. Both were outstanding and full of flavor. They also have a very nice patio which we want to try when it's cooler outside. We will definitely be returning the next time we are in Galveston.

What an awesome find. Super cool place. We walked down the Strand and shopped all afternoon. This place caught our eye on the way to the car. Wow. Beautiful place. Great and fast service. The food. WOW. EXCELLENT. We had shrimp pad Thai, could crab pad tai and the shrimp drunken noodles. Also coconut shrimp as an app. Big portions. Great food. I highly recommend.
Oh, I almost forgot the custom fruit flavored tea selection. We had raspberry, and passion fruit teas. They were very good!

What a gem! I am gluten intolerant and vegetarian and they had MANY options for me. The eggplant with tofu was perfectly seasoned, and a large enough portion for my husband and I to split with an appetizer of tofu spring rolls. The atmosphere was clean, light and airy with gracious, attentive, efficient and friendly staff. One waitress even gave my daughter a pin she admired from her apron! We can’t say enough! We will definitely be back when we visit Galveston again!

Tonight I ordered my favorite, the Drunken Noodles for takeout, requesting to try the crab with it. The gave me lump crab meat and a soft shell crab (wasn’t expecting it) & they told me it’d be $28 upon pick up. It blew my expectations out the water. I love this place already but after this dish, I couldn’t resist sharing my joy. It was a perfect dinner for my Sunday night in. Thank you thank you for your service!!
