Diner Review №6

So I love Thai food . I asked for very spicy, and instead I got a little spicy with some spices brought to table.

Disappointed in portion, and the actual protein.

The lady did keep glass of water filled which is a plus.

Overall, I've had better Thai food and therfore they only received 3 stars. As the food was just OK. Wasn't nasty but wasn't enough for the price nor spice level not what requested.

Diner Review №7

During our trip in Dallas, we found this Thai restaurant right next to our Airbnb and it turned out to be the best Thai food I’ve ever had. The flavors, spices and heat were truly authentic.

The atmosphere wasn’t the best.. we got stared at, but maybe they were just trying to figure out if I was Thai. Regardless, the food was amazing and the coconut water was super refreshing after all that spice. I even came back the next day to try their mango sticky rice (takeout) and I loved it just as much!

Diner Review №8

They started out strong with their Thai Dumplings! Came out piping hot and good flavor! Unfortunately that was the highlight. I got the Pad Thai, they don’t ask me what spice level I wanted which is weird. When it came out it was very sweet and there was no pepper on the table that I could add to it. The fried rice was good but the chicken on top was also very very sweet. And finally I got the Tom Kha which is a dish I love very much. Yup, you guessed it! It was also sweet. So food wise it’s very average and too sweet. The service was very nice, super attentive and constantly refilled waters.

Diner Review №9

So good every time I visit and pretty consistent. Tom Yum is legit and my fave on the menu along with panang curry. Just so good I’m getting hungry wiriting about it.

Diner Review №10

Good food and wonderful service. Will come back!

Diner Review №11

Give it a chance! Was greeted warmly, food was to be expected. No gimmicks, I always come back.

Diner Review №18

I ordered the basil noodle and tofu via Uber Eats tonight and I’ve ordered this many times in the past and it’s been pretty good tonight however was a pretty big letdown. The tofu was definitely passed its prime and had a sour taste. I couldn’t eat it. I’ll try ordering from here again at some point in the future because like I said, it’s normally pretty good but tonight it was definitely off

Diner Review №19

This place was absolutely fantastic! Food so flavorful just off the chain! It's fresh aromatic, cooked to perfection, and very pleasing to the eyes.
The atmosphere mixture of family and friendly comradery. Nothing but smiles and laughter up in this place. Oh, the decor and fixtures beautiful warm and cozy.
The associates that were serving that night all smiles, so nice and attentive to our every need.
Each item that we ordered was better than the next item served!Lol
We are going back with a bigger group!
Ps please please please! Get the green tea ice cream and avocado curry, definitely the Fried Rice. I think it was called Tom Yum amazing!!!!
Check this place out if your in the area or just wanting to get out.

Diner Review №20

Had egg rolls and chicken fried rice. Both were very good. Price was reasonable. I will come back and recommend a meal here. Delicious food at cheap prices! Friendly service too!

Diner Review №21

Diner Review №22

I can’t wait to come back got the veg spring rolls so fresh! Plus a butter curry chicken dish

Diner Review №23

The cream cheese wonton is good enough to warrant a visit here by itself. But luckily this is some of the best Pad-Thai I’ve ever had. Crazy amount of flavor and their spice level 2 gives it a bit of a kick that forces you to pace yourself but still finish the plate.

Diner Review №24

The Thai food here is exquisite and worth every bite. After trying dozens of restaurants, the food here is far superior. The pricing is reasonable as well. I've tried about half the menu and I still haven't food anything I didn't like. Their ingredients are fresh and genuine. Nothing boxed, nothing without care. It is made deliciously each time. Love this place.

Diner Review №28

Incredible food, great service. Best Thai food I have ever tried. They Also have Thai beer. I highly recommend it!

Diner Review №29

The food was really good! It was right down the road from our airbnb so we walked there and they had a warm greeting. For appetizers, we got the Thai Salad Rolls and Cream Cheese Wontons and they were both SO good. The sauce that came with the salad rolls matched it very nicely. For lunch I got the #43 Avocado Thai Curry, it came with white rice and it was very good. My friend got the #43a Massaman Curry, it also came with white rice. We both enjoyed ours and each others dishes very much. We also wanted some noodles so we got an order some Pad Thai and I was very pleased with it but my friend didn’t prefer the sweetness so that’s up to preference.
All in all, it was a very relaxing place, the people who work here are very nice and quiet. They had nice music on. It wasn’t busy for a Sunday lunch. I recommend:)

Diner Review №30

Bangkok City is out favorite Thai restaurant in Dallas! My husband and I have been eating here for over 23 years when we were dating. It’s now our daughter’s favorite as well. Unfortunately we moved a lot further so we don’t come as often as we’d like to. Their yellow curry is one of my favorite dishes. My husband loves their Pad Thai and he’s very picky with his Pad Thai. I’ve never had anything bad here. All their dishes are full of flavor with the freshest ingredients. They make everything from scratch and all the dishes are made to order. I also love their Penang Salmon. Our daughter loves their crispy egg rolls and their Bangkok City shrimp. We adore the owner Jen, she’s so kind, welcoming and so friendly. ✨
The entire staff is always so welcoming and attentive. Don’t be fooled, there’s a lot of restaurants named Bangkok City in DFW but this is the only one that is the real deal and has been for 30 years.

family operated business, the owner is on site most every day. my favorites are bangkok fried rice ,Asparagus and shrimp ,peanut chicken and spicy cat fish.
chicken satay or corn patties for your appetizers.
wife loves the steamed thai dumplings.

Diner Review №33

I tried the panang curry and the pad-prig-king. Both dishes were phenomenal even in this Texas heat. 🔥 I can’t wait for it to cool down so I can enjoy these dishes even more. Their food is packed with flavor– there was a party in my mouth. The green beans were cooked to perfection. The service was great. It seems like the staff helps each other out and are super attentive.

I’ve been there a couple times since and each dish is delicious. 😋 the papaya salad, tom kha soup, dumplings, and garlic chicken were fantastic!

Diner Review №34

Haven't eaten here in awhile, it's lost a bit of the luster it had 10 years ago. Service was superb, there are other Thai Restaurants with better food, surprised they are still in business.

As for the food, it's outstanding—flavorful and prepared well. Whether you're a fan of classic dishes or eager to try something new, this restaurant delivers every time. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a top-notch Thai meal in a calm setting.

Diner Review №39

I have lost count of how many times I’ve visited, the consistency is unmatched both in the kitchen and on the service side.

I couldn’t not come up with a critique even if I tried. I guess maybe consider adding ginger ale to the drink menu :)

Otherwise, thank you for the wonderful service and meals.

Diner Review №40

Food was good. No option for spice level. Seemed pretty Americanized. Interior could use some updating. A bit hot and sticky inside, too. Service was good and quick!

Diner Review №41

I love this place their food is always so good and super fast with your order.

Diner Review №42

Diner Review №43

Great pad Thai, curries, and chicken satay. Have ventured from these a few times and always been happy with the result as well!

Diner Review №44

This was my go-to Thai restaurant when I lived in Dallas during the late 90s/early 2000s. I visited a few weeks ago for the first time in at least 15 years. The dishes were remarkably fresh, the service attentive and friendly, and I loved the updates to the restaurant. So glad to see this restaurant is going strong.

Diner Review №48

Best Thai food in town! It's the most natural-tasting Thai food I have ever tried in the DFW area. Nice place too. Good service. The Hello Ginger was so healthy and satisfying.

Diner Review №53

Best Thai food in the City. Service is always amazing. Take out or dine in, I have never had a bad meal or take out order. Eat here a few times a month. Awesome.

Diner Review №54

This is our to go Thai restaurant in Dallas area and we love the food. Recently, one of the servers run after we paid from the QR code payment. What we did not like was the server run after us as if we did not pay. Asked for a screenshot or photo. Granted my fiancee did show it to her. What we did not like is how she was not apologetic. I recommend to have a better system and not use that QR code payment if your servers don't feel confident that your customers are paying using the app provided.

Diner Review №55

Oh my goodness, hands down the best food I've had in a long long time!!

Go - you won't regret it!!

Diner Review №56

The place had a nice atmosphere and homey look, the wait staff was very nice and helpful. I ordered Mongolian beef and the beef tasted like bland tap water the veggies where barely cooked and rested on a base of beef stock. My wife had the kiss me garlic chicken which barely had garlic flavor and a fried rice that tasted like a blank painting of a fried rice (uncle Roger will not approve).

Diner Review №57

Diner Review №58

Diner Review №59

Simple, delicious, food in a clean, comfortable, neighborhood setting. What a great meal and I was flying solo!!

Diner Review №60

We have been going here at least 30 years and it never disappoints. Great staff, ambiance and food. Lots of House Specialties as well as the usual standards. Nice touch, menu prices include sales tax.

Diner Review №64

Diner Review №65

Really enjoyable Pad Thai. Clean restaurant, friendly staff, great food. Food is definitely better fresh in-restaurant vs carry out (which I still often get). Highly recommend

Diner Review №66

This is the best Thai restaurant in Dallas. I eat Thai food all over the US and nothing compares. The staff is excellent, the ambiance is wonderful, the owner is professional and stays on top of her game year after year. Chicken and basil, drunken noodles, chicken fried rice, steamed dumplings — all excellent and our go to meals. You cannot go wrong here.

Diner Review №67

I have been going here with my family since I was a little boy. It is by far the best Thai place I have ever been too, and I have lived in New York, Washington D.C., and Lubbock.

Diner Review №68

Diner Review №69

Family-run corner restaurant with a menu of Thai favorites. Clean, quiet, quaint atmosphere. Excellent penang, and the pad-woon-sen clear noodles are also great. Service is fast and attentive. Lots of seating and they appear to do a thriving takeout business.

Diner Review №70

Very cute restaurant, loved the delicious food and the service was superb. Thanks, will come again.

Diner Review №71

The best Thai food in Dallas hands down. No exceptions.

Diner Review №72

Just realized I haven’t reviewed this place yet. Atmosphere is great, quiet unless there’s a big family. BUT to the food…mmmmmm. Don’t sleep on the roast duck, you’ll regret it. It’s so so good. The crispy basil really merges nicely with the duck and the rice and don’t get me started on the sauce is lathered in. Mmmmmmm!! If you’ve been putting it off, stop. It’s great.

Diner Review №73

Very good food for reasonable prices, and a nice view of the city outside!

Diner Review №74

Diner Review №75

The shrimp fried rice with the extra garlic is off the chain!!

Diner Review №76

Great place and great food and service

Diner Review №77

Came back from Thailand and was on the hunt to find Thai food that tasted more authentic.
This is the spot.
The only Thai spot I go to in Dallas …I bring all my friends here too

Diner Review №78

My recent takeout experience with Bangkok City Restaurant left a lasting impression, not just for the quality of their food but also for the exceptional customer service. On a night that stretched a little too late, the staff at Bangkok City were incredibly accommodating, kindly waiting past their closing time to ensure we received our order. It's rare to find such understanding and flexibility in the restaurant industry, and it's something that truly sets Bangkok City apart.

As for the meal itself, there were many highlights. The spicy basil noodles stood out with their perfect blend of heat and flavor, making every bite a delightful experience. The fried rice was another winner, offering a satisfying blend of textures and tastes that was both comforting and delicious. The spring rolls were crisp and light, served with a dipping sauce that was nothing short of amazing, adding a tangy kick that enhanced the overall taste.

However, the Panang curry, while generally a favorite dish of mine, was not quite to my liking on this occasion. It had a notably strong aftertaste that didn't sit well with me, though this is more a matter of personal preference than a critique of the dish itself.

In summary, my experience at Bangkok City Restaurant was overwhelmingly positive. The food, for the most part, was excellent, and the staff's kindness and willingness to go above and beyond for their customers was truly commendable. It's these qualities that make Bangkok City a standout restaurant, and I'm keen to return and explore more of their menu in the future.

Diner Review №79

Love this place. Always great service, clean, and great food.

Diner Review №80

I think the best pad thai that I’ve ever had! The massaman curry with tofu was also excellent. The prices were a teensy bit steep, but I suppose that’s to be expected amidst all of this recent inflation. I highly recommend this place!

Diner Review №81

Diner Review №82

I have to say, nothing feels better in a time of inflation than spending hard earned money on terrible food and borderline offensive service. Do you like eating rubbery canned crab-meat over fried rice that was made with a knock-off instant pot and paying $22 for it? Or do you like watching your waitress actively avoid you and your very empty water glass that was never once refilled while she bends over backwards for the other customers? I know I love watching other people who came in well after me get their food first while mine is most likely forgotten about under a greasy heat-lamp in the back. This place is a treasure trove of experiences. It should be listed as an immersive experience of frustration and inequality more so than simply a restaurant, because I swear, I was looking for hidden cameras at one point during this lovely fiasco. “Did you tell the manager of your experience?” One might ask. Oh yes, and I received a dead-eyed smile in return at my reserved feedback. But in all honestly, I recommend this place if your tastebuds are not functioning and you like bad parking, and if being treated like a leper gives you a thrill.

Diner Review №83

I had the misfortune of dining here because Google said they have crab fried rice. This restaurant went out of their way to make us feel unwelcome. First approach parking. This is not a place you have much street parking but they have a parking lot if you have an alterrain vehicle you should be fine. It's straight up a hill with a moon sized crater in it. Then you have to find the entrance. It's insane we should have left then. Persistence definitely didn't pay off. The place is clean and decorated decently. So I was hopeful. The waitress was very short with us we could barely get out order or anything before she was gone. I noticed then she conversed with other tables but not us. Ok so maybe she knew them. Then our appetizers arrived and they were hot and very good. Then several people who didn't look like us were seated after us. So after the appetizers we waited and waited and watched all those people who came after us get their orders. So I flagged down the waitress and instantly her face changed like I'm bothering her. An I asked about our order. She said it's coming and ran off carrying a water picture well my water glass was still sitting on Empty. I had to call this woman again to get water. She was filling up the other table glasses before they were empty. So eventually we get our food and it was terrible especially in comparison to good crab fried rice we had the previous week. But we tried to eat it. I called the manage over to try and explain why their review was gonna be blatantly honest. However she didn't care she just smiled and said she hoped my day would be better when we left. The problem with that was my day was perfect before and after but you just insinuated I'm an angry black woman but you wouldn't even converse with me. So I'm doing what no one done for us previously I'm telling the truth. They did not appreciate my money just because I don't look like their normal clientele.

Diner Review №89

Such delicious Thai food! We used to eat here every Sunday until we moved away, and now I still drive 25 minutes to get their tasty food. I especially love it because I am Celiac, and many of their dishes are safe for me to eat! Their Pad Thai is the best in town, and all of their soups and curries are divine. Fast service and very consistent food. Love them!!

Diner Review №116

Diner Review №117

Out local go-to place for Thai. Getting good Thai in Dallas proper is really hard (not a problem in the suburbs).
Food is by large authentic and the owner is from Thailand and has been operating the restaurant for decades. I lived in Thailand for a few years, so I would say I would know how it supposed to taste.

Diner Review №118

My family has been coming here for over 20 years and will continue to do so! The food is amazing, I’ve loved every dish I’ve ever tried. Owners and staff are so kind and attentive. Best Thai restaurant in Dallas!

Diner Review №120

Diner Review №121

Very nice food and great taste as more than expected. Will always come back

Diner Review №122

Food was really good, but our server brought down the score. She was not friendly, only took one person's drink order before walking away. Then had an attitude when the others asked for a drink. Only brought 2 straws for a table of 4. Then rolled her eyes when we asked for 2 more. She was not friendly at all!!

Diner Review №129

The food is great but the older lady at the front is very freaking rude and disrespectful. It would help if she learn to communicate when busy and under pressure. I frequent this place regular but her hanging up in my face and yelling at me makes me never want to go again!

Diner Review №130

I love this place. Everything is fresh and authentic tasting. They never miss. The staff are very friendly as well.

Service was nice, food was delicious. Got the spicy beef salad, green curry, basil duck, green tea icecream, and mango sticky rice. Basil duck was crispy on the outside but the meat was so tender! Street parking where you find it since it's in Dallas!

P.s. I didn't get a picture of the steamed thai dumplings but highly recommend. It's really good!

Diner Review №146

Authentic, reasonably priced, wholesome and tasty Thai food with great service in a relaxing atmosphere.

We had the Pad Thai with chicken, the green curry with tofu, pad see ew and spicy eggplant. All turned out to be great choices! Spicy level of medium was perfect. Food came out quickly after ordered and the waitress was very attentive to our needs. Will be back if I am in the area again.

Tip: Nice seating options available right outside the restaurant in the lounge area which is still inside the building but not exposed to the elements. I would pick that option next time we visit.

Diner Review №147

Diner Review №152

My favorite restaurant in Dallas. Been going here for 20+ years and absolutely love it! My wife's go to is the Basil Noodle and I get the red curry (with chicken) 95% of the time. I try Thai food in other cities and NONE hit the high standard like Bangkok City.

Diner Review №153

Excellent food

Diner Review №154

Do Not under any circumstances stop here. The customer SERVICE is horrible. The manager middle aged Grey haired lady, whom I'm only describing this way because she refused to give me her name. I ordered pad see eww, which apparently there was an old menu, I was given a more expensive menu with more Inflated prices. I was told the lunch was the same price as the dinner but unable to get the soup/salad. Once I opened the container and it was not a lunch portion. I told her I was dissatisfied, she offered me the salad or the soup that I was not privy to prior to. I asked for a refund she told me no because I'd already ordered it. I told her this isn't good customer service and asked for a refund she told me no, and refused to give me her name. She was nasty, unprofessional and displayed poor business acumen. I'll NEVER visit this place again. I'll also let all of my co workers

The food is always so good!! The Spring Rolls are my fave, non fried! Ordered the Jungle Curry dish, level 4 the hottest, it did not disappoint. My husband ordered the Teriyaki Grilled Chicken w Broccoli. Really good, sweet sauce. Our waitress Lan and the others are always very welcoming!

Diner Review №159

Outstanding food! Highly recommend the City Connection entree - the sauce the umami heaven and not too spicy (you can ask for more heat if you prefer). Papaya Salad is outstanding as well. Love this place!

Diner Review №160

Let it be known that the Bangkok City Restaurant is BY FARRRRR THE WORST THAI FOOD I HAVE HAD IN YEARS! And it’s not just the food. They customer service skills are an all time ZERO.
If you eat Thai food avidly as myself you know that the thai chicke fried rice has levels of spice, I’m Cajun so im not foreign to a lil heat to my meal. I always get level 1 spicy cause its just enough spoce to give the rice its kick.
Tell me why i make it home thinking im bout to eat something delicious and this rice was not just spicy…. They overloaded it with chili seasoning so much so it burnt my mouth. So being me I called them about it calmly and advised that i live almost an hour away so i couldnt come back right away. Liu the store owner stated i could bring the dish back anytime for a refund or request a remake.
So i waited a while before getting back out due to the fact i am SICK. But i made it back to the Bangkok City Restaurant on Bryan street in Dallas. Liu was there and denied me my funds and insisted on remaking it. She remade it. Tell me why the remake was BURNTTTTT LIKE CHARCOAL BURNT SO BAD YOU COULD SMELL THE STINCH BEFORE OPENING THE FOOD. Not only did i smell it but i tasted it also and it was burnt to the coreeeee. She still refused my money back…. Hung up on me in my face when i told her i want a refund. So i brought the food back and WILL BE BACK TOMORROW TO GET MY MONEY BACK SINCE “they accounts closed” tonight.

Horrible EXPERIENCE. We ordered food and waited 30 minutes before we just got up and left. No one was in the restaurant and we just got up and left. Very terrible service.

Excelente sabor del snow pea shrimp, y el brócoli con pollo. Además nos sugirieron un postre de arroz y mango que está delicioso. Muy atento y eficiente el servicio, muy accesibles los precios. Lo recomiendo mucho!

Amazing cuisine! Togo food was thoughtfully packaged.

Diner Review №199

Hands down the best Thai food I’ve had in the states. I spent a month in Thailand, and was craving traditional Thai food when I came home. This place ticks the boxes for me. All of their soups are fantastic. The basil noodles, pad see ew, pad Thai and pineapple fried rice are all 10/10. I also look forward to the season when they have mango sticky rice for dessert. I love that they also offer delivery and pickup! Best Thai restaurant in Dallas!

Diner Review №200
