Up Thai Kitchen : The best Thai Restaurant in Cypress
We ordered dinner through Uber Eats from here and it was great! The prices were pretty high ordering delivery, but I would definitely eat here again. I had the Pad Thai Noodles with Shrimp, medium (2) spicy level and it was delicious! I only wish the shrimp didn't have tails still on them. My husband had the Thai Fried Rice with chicken and he liked it a lot as well!
We were in cypress and was looking for a restaurant hunt and ended up in interior cypress. Up Thai, is a cozy little place tucked away from the huzzle of the city life. Their restaurant is simple and humble. Their staff are kind and welcoming. I loved their vegetarian rolls and soup ( vegetables and tofu) the best. I would definitely suggest and recommend everyone to try that. It was so flavorful , fresh and spicy. My husband indulged in Thai basil fried rice that he enjoyed. The only thing that disappointed me a bit was their entree. Spicy basil tofu. Tofu was bland and sauce was bland and tofu dint sink in the sauces. Seemed dry and somehow dint go well with my taste palette. Other than the entree, the evening was delightful. I will be back for their flavorful soup for sure.
This was the first time we tried this restaurant. It smelled so good from outside. Which made me look forward to trying their food even more. There were so many dishes I wanted to try, but I decided to go with one of the glass noodle dishes. It looked so beautiful when the young lady came with the food to our table. I absolutely loved it. It tasted as good as it smelled. If not, better. I could not stop eating, but I didn't what to overstuff myself. I recommend you give them a try. We will definitely be going back.
Thanh was a great server with excellence memory and know how to take care of his customer. Fast service and kind. The food was amazing just a little bit oily on the fried rice.
Really really really delicious food. Flavor is spot on. Portions is good amount and price is reasonable for the quality. I eat at a lot of Thai place and this place stands out among other Thai place. Staff is a bunch of young cool people who is very accommodating. Very nice hole in the wall hidden gem. Highly recommend.
The customer service was amazing! The shrimp tempura was delicious! And the food got served very quickly.
This is a small space, but don't let that fool you! the food is authentic and delicious, the staff couldn't be more friendly, and the interior is pleasant and charming.
Great food, you must try it.
Thanh was a great server with excellence memory and know how to take care of his customer. Fast service and kind. The food was amazing just a little bit oily on the fried rice.
Best Massaman curry is Houston.
This is our first time here, and it didn't disappoint. The food was very tasty and plentiful, my take home box was enough for another meal. We will return to try additional plates. I really recommend this place for the food and great service.

Hair found in food! Disgusting
Food is delicious. Beef Pad See Ew is absolutely delicious! I've been to a handful of Thai restaurants, but this one is one of the best!!
We ordered dinner through Uber Eats from here and it was great! The prices were pretty high ordering delivery, but I would definitely eat here again. We ordered Christmas Eve. Shared 3 meals an amongst 4 of us. We ate all we could and still had leftovers. Beef Penang, Basil fried rice w/ shrimp and Orange chicken were all excellent. But the best item was the crispy spring rolls.
Service and food were excellent
Thai wings, crab fried rice with shrimp and crispy chicken fried rice. Absolutely amazing 🤗
One of the best green curries I've had. Fried rice was cooked to perfection. Food is a little on the pricy side but it's worth it every now and again.
Yummmyyyyyy
Than was a very attentive server ! Food was very fresh and flavorful .
Food was absolutely delish! And Torlon was super helpful and kind. What a community gem! Definitely be back!
Ordered orange chicken and pineapple curry. Orange chicken looked nothing like the picture. It was soggy and nasty. Curry was not good either. Ended up trashing the entire thing. Only thing worth eating was the crispy spring rolls. What a waste of 46 bucks.
I ordered Penang curry with tofu via DoorDash and they sent me chicken, when called they said it’s door dash’s fault and I need to resolve the issue with them when in fact the order was from their kitchen 🙄 Pathetic they just lost a customer. And their food isn’t that great either
Cool service machine!
New to the area and have gone twice in the past month. Price is right and quality of food is great. Friendly staff and service was good.
Amazing food! The tofu pad kee mao is so flavorful and was a good portion size. Our server, Thanh, was extremely nice and attentive. 10/10 would recommend!
Super good food and very friendly service. Our favorite is their green chicken curry and Thai vegetable rice.
Tried it today and got a pad thai. It was ok, not the best pad thai I've ever tried but overall, it near my house and taste good.
Torlon was great. Everything was great.
We will be back.
EXCELLENT EVERYTHING. WE WILL BE BACK. EXCELLENT LUNCH SPECIAL!
Up Thai is a shining example of culinary excellence in Cypress, delivering exceptional value and taste. The rich, flavorful tom kha soup, with its perfect blend of creamy coconut and tangy lime, is simply outstanding. The masaman curry, bursting with complex spices and tender meat, is a standout dish that keeps us coming back for more.
Not only does Up Thai offer top-notch food, but it does so at a price point that makes it accessible for regular visits. This is smart business, providing high-quality meals at affordable prices to attract and retain a loyal customer base. For anyone in Cypress looking to enjoy authentic Thai cuisine without compromising on quality or budget, Up Thai is the ultimate choice.
La comida muy buena. Los vegetales estaban cocinados al punto.
Ordered take out on Doordash and I clearly stated to please steam the tofu and no onion. I also added to contact me if this request was not possible, no phone calls, no messages, nothing. I would understand if the request could not be done, that is fine if I had been contacted, to which I was not so, I assumed it could be done. Now imagine opening up the food i’ve been craving all day to see the fried tofu and onions!! I can’t have fried food due to a condition so I spent money on something I cannot fully eat. Save your money for a place that respects the customers or at least contacts you to give a heads up. Won’t be purchasing from here again. Additionally, upon trying the massaman curry it tastes like sour pickles, it’s not even good. The onions and carrots are raw, thrown in last minute.
Never orfer from this restaurant!!!!!! They will change the price after you pay Under Eats...they will sat there is no manger to talk to amd Under Eats won't help you either. Do yourself a favor and use Door Dash and order from another Thai restaurant.
Food is always fresh, the atmosphere is pleasant and service is amazing.
This little thai spot is beyond delicious. Thai basil fried rice and yellow curry is the go to and is on point every single time. Recommend to everyone that wants amazing thai food.
I’ve visited this place a few times. I love their chicken fried rice however my last visit was horrible. The chicken was overcooked and the management refused to remake it. The server barely spoke and didn’t seem friendly at all.
Consistently delicious!!!
Wonderful authentic Thai cuisine....Great service !
Our first time at Up Thai Kitchen and it was great. The lychee tea was absolutely delicious and the food was served very quickly
My family’s one of go to Spot to get our Thai food especially, Tom kha soup and Pad Thai,
Service is amazing. Food is really delish. The curry is a must have
There isn’t much of an atmosphere in this restaurant, but it doesn’t need one. The food and service speak for themselves. We ordered spicy edamame, yellow curry, and pineapple rice. Everything was delicious. We had to take some of the food home, and even after reheating, there was no odd smell to the gravy or the meat. I definitely recommend this place.
Highly recommended for Thai food lovers. Very authintic.
We order 100 dollars of food only to have a bug in my grandson place a beetle that was fried and attached to the corn in his stir fry.
Best Thai food in Houston metro hands down.
Food was good. Mango was rotten in places. Service was great
I ordered the peanut special with chicken and the chicken was horrible. Very low quality
Our family loves Up Thai! The food is deliciously fresh and the service is just as good. Whether we dine in or pick up to go the food is just as good. We highly recommend it- Especially the lunch specials.
Here is a picture of my $15 lunch special. Portion was small and the cup of soup wasn't even 50% full. Y'all couldn't even fill the MSG water to the top of the cup? The worst part was being asked to tip anywhere between 20-30% during check-out. The only way to not tip is to leave all the tip options blank, but it's a paper receipt so anyone can easily select a tip option on your behalf after you leave. If you expect a tip after I drove all the way here to pick up this rip-off of a lunch special, you are DeLuLu!! Parking was also horrendous. No wonder the last time I visited this place was 2 years ago!
Food was very good. I got the spicy edamame and the chicken cashew nut.
Make sure you ask for little spice on the edamame if you do not handle crazy hot. I love spice but it was way too hot to eat. Everything else was amazing though. My waitress Candice went above and beyond and was extremely tentative and polite. She made the restaurant a 5 star !
Amazing mushroom soup! Everything we've eaten here has been top quality!
The food and service at UpThai are always amazing! The lunch specials are a perfect portions and Torlon always goes above and beyond to make sure we have a great experience. Highly recommend!
Food is horrifically bad. Pad thai was too sweet, like noodles in ketchup. Curry had undercooked raw potatoes. Definitely not coming back
My husband and I visited for lunch. Our server Torlon was very helpful with the options on the menu. We ordered the Lychee tea, which was excellent. It taste just like the tea I get at our local tea establishment. I ordered pad Thai, my husband order the broccoli and garlic from the lunch menu. It comes with a crispy veggie egg roll and your option of the soup of the day or salad. We ordered the soup. Our meal was excellent. Arrived piping hot. The portion size was enough for me to take some home as leftovers. The dining area was clean. Our server cleaned our table as we finished items. We will definitely visit again. Thank for the great service!
Great food! Been here twice now and think I found my new Thai place! Service first night was a little off, but overall definitely will be back! Good spice if you like heat which I do. Can't speak to the mild.....😊
Great, delicious food! Staff was polite and attentive.
Nice restaurant with reasonable prices
Best thai food in the county
Love this place! The best dinner experience. Such great service. Really can’t wait to go back
I’m from out of town, just passing through, but I was welcomed warmly. Food came out immediately and hot.
I decided to try this restaurant for the first time because it was by my house. I walked in and the guy at the register never acknowledged me. I went to the counter and he asked what did I want, I told him that I’d review the menu and shortly tell him since this was my first time. He said ok and continued to do what he was doing. I ordered teriyaki chicken with fried rice because that looked familiar. The price was about $22 and I gave a $4 cash tip which prompted him to smile for the first time and say thank you. I crossed out the tip part on the receipt and put N/A. When I sat down, 2 caucasian men walked in. One man ordered for his family, and the guy who helped me perked up with a smile, greeted him and provided various recommendations from the menu for him to try for his family. He even shared the levels of spice being from 1-5. I had no idea because when I was asked what spice level I wanted , I asked what were the levels and since he didn’t respond I just said medium. Ultimately the spice level was never added. I really should’ve never ordered, but I was tired and hungry after work. I got the order and he told me thank you and good bye. I looked at my bank transaction the next morning and was charged $56 for a meal I was supposed to pay $22 for. I’ll deal with it with the bank and call later, but nonetheless the food was ok. I just didn’t have a pleasurable experience. Disappointed, but I wish nothing but the best for them going forward. ~AA female~
Really really really delicious food. Flavor is spot on. Portions is good amount and price is reasonable for the quality. I eat at a lot of Thai place and this place stands out among other Thai place. Traveling through from central Texas. Best pad Thai I have had in Texas!!
The food is always amazing. Been coming for more than a year and its consistently great with all dishes. Glad to have a great Thai restaurant in our area.
Best Thai food in Cypress and Houston! High quality food, everything on the menu is delicious!
My wife had the Thai fried with shrimps and chicken and I had the spicy basil with beef. Both meals were delicious and unbelievable portions too. The staff are very courteous and friendly, great atmosphere with good music playing in the background. It's our first time and definitely coming back soon with our kids.
Thanh was very helpful in explaining and describing the different menu items. The food came out quick and tasted fresh. I had the Panang Curry, Crab Fried Rice, and Thai Green Tea. All three were very tasty. I will be coming back for more.
Great food, wine and service
Thank you Tann and Than
Super small neighborhood spot. Food is always fresh and very good! Lots of choices, never dissappoints!
The food is so so..We came here about 8:30 pm and they started rushing out by 9 pm saying they have to clean and mop the floor…they considered baby as and made us party of 6 and tried to charge 18% gratitude, they don’t even have a kids menu.
super yummy food! I ordered the Pad See Ew with Chicken (with level 3 spicy)and it has been my favorite plate from here so far! I typically don’t like sweet sauces so this plate doesn’t have any type of sweetness to it , which I love! I also added spicy sauce which was super good together! I also recommend the steamed gyoza ! They’re yummy as well
Great good, excellent service and warm atmosphere! Best Thai in Cypress!
This place has amazing staff and food! Come and check them out you will not be disappointed.
I bought some vegan/vegetarian food for a Super Bowl Party.
The veggie rolls
The Brussel sprouts
The Spicy Basil (Pad Kra Pow)
Were all PHENOMENAL!
The Brussel Sprouts were spicier than you'd think they'd be, but it's very manageable. There's also a sweetness to them that offsets the spice. If you ate hot chips as a kid you'll be fine.
Great food
I love this place bit their prices have gone through the roof. I ordered the spicy duck curry. The meat was nice but too many bones. For $30 I expected more
The service was attentive and friendly. Food came out quickly and hot. The yellow curry was fantastic. The dinner portion that I ordered was more than I could finish at lunch. I would definitely go back again.
Thai food here is fantastic in quality and flavor. I had the chicken Pad See Ew with a level 3 of spiciness and it was amazing. Will be returning to this place for sure.

I had a wonderful experience at Up Thai Kitchen, a cozy and authentic restaurant. The service was friendly and attentive. Tam was very friendly and helpful. He made sure that everything was good for us. I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken and beef, which was cooked perfectly and had a nice balance of sweet, sour, and spicy flavors. The portion was generous and satisfying. My friend had the Red Curry with chicken. The Red Curry had a rich coconut milk base and plenty of vegetables.
I would highly recommend Up Thai to anyone looking for a great Thai restaurant in Houston. The prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is cozy, and the food is amazing. I will definitely come back again and try more dishes from their extensive menu.
Tam took a really good care for us. He welcomed us with a warm smile. Overall experience was really great. Definitely will recommend friends to come.
Such a nice, quaint, intimate restaurant with delicious food!! Torion's recommendations were spot on! Will definitely return for another meal sooner than later!
Every time we’re in the Cypress Area Up Thai Kitchen is our go to place! The food is amazing, fresh, and very good quality. The service is phenomenal and I can’t recommend them enough. Love this place!
Very delicious Thai food! The best I’ve had in Houston/Cypress area. The staff is great! I highly recommend! You can’t go wrong with anything you order from this place.
Best Thai food and waiter Thanh in Cypress
Great music, great taste! Spicy but not too spicy
Really yummy food
The food is incredible. Great local place to have in Cypress! Will be coming back for sure! Pad thai and pad see ew were on point! Highly recommend it!!
Very bad experience, husband ordered Pad Kra Pow - and it had absolutely no flavor, really awful - when he told the waiter and asked for something edible, he was told he would have to pay for the horrendous dish. I ordered the drunken noodles which were very underwhelming as well. Pretty terrible experience overall.
Great food and a great environment to have a meal. The service is always amazing!
The food is excellent taste so good and fresh, food comes out nice and hot.
Great Thai food in cypress
Food was Good we got the Pad Thai, I’ve had better but this is a really good spot for pad Thai, I asked for spicy 2 but I got 3, they didn’t give me silverware had to go back and get some. Their take-out game needs a bit more work but overall I enjoyed the meal, one more thing don’t get the beef it’s very chewy. That’s one CON about the meal… sorry
My favorite thai food restaurant in houston.
100% recommended. You wont regret it.
Recommended food: garlic brussels sprouts, pineapple chicken fried rice and teriyaki chicken 😍
Best Thai food in Houston. I love this place so much. The food is so good I would recommend the Pineapple Brown Rice the BEST
Everything I have tried here is yum!!
Tom yum soup and appetizer chicken satay were good, chicken teriyaki entree was not so great it was very sweet more like bourbon chicken. And at last dessert, coconut pudding with sticky rice, it was not worth it at all. It was made with like mostly egg, egg custard cake served cold not hot sticky, the combination and taste and feeling after eating was bad
I had an awful experience with the server the other day during lunch, they accidentally put an extra egg roll on my plate and they immediately took it out of my plate while at the table using their bare hands.
I honestly thought this was so unsanitary, this place lost a good customer.
Excelente, muy buena la comida
Ordered once from here a few years ago due to the good reviews. Didn't think it was anything special. Decided to give them another try. It was a super greasy, flavorless mess. But Thai options in Cypress are limited, I guess.
I order the tulip dumplings every week because they usually are fantastic. Today I ordered them through door dash like I normally do and they were raw. Really ruined my day. I still want to give them a another try but 30$ is a lot for no food.
Great food...loaded with flavor! Fast and hot carryout. I love that they have Vegan options as well.
This Thai spot is a hidden gym in Cypress, they have some of the best food I’ve ever ate. I got recommended the Pad See Ew Noodles and they are phenomenal. My girlfriend loves the vegetables with shrimp mix. The red curry level 4-5 is amazing. Overall would highly recommend.
We ordered the orange chicken, which was Delicious, but the two of the beef dishes were very chewy. We called to provide this feedback to the manager and it was not received very well. They were not friendly and told us there is nothing they can do about it.
I was recommended the drunken noodles and shown that they are on the $10 lunch menu. I chose to get them with the Seafood protein for an extra $6. The portion was huge with lots of shrimp, calamari, scallops, and veg. I got spice level 5 and it was fantastic. Great local place!
After a long day, we ordered food from this place. When I went to pick it up, I ordered a Thai tea. I paid for it, and as the tea was getting made, I could tell from the color that it’s v milky. When it was handed to me, I took a sip and it was extremely milky. I asked Dinh (one who made the tea) that it’s v milky, and if he will be kind enough to make me another. He told me to pay for another tea. This is not the first time I am having Thai tea.
If you don’t make something right the first time, have the courtesy to make it right again.
Definitely not coming back
No Thai flavors in the Tom Yum nor the yellow curry with the over firm veggies. I shouldn't have to ask for lemongrass or Kafir lime leaves because it was listed on the menu but not put in the soup. Horrible!
The atmosphere is warm and cozy, The food tastes fresh and extremely delicious the tea’s are just as great as the food! The service was amazing they came and checked in on us multiple times!! 10/10 will come here again! ☺️
HONEST REVIEW: This place was clean and calm. The food however is not at all anything special. If you’re hungry and want good tasting food don’t come here. It’s bland and basic. I won’t be coming back nor will I be recommending this place to anyone.
Too sweet for my taste. Nothing like the food I have had in Thailand, but maybe it is due to clientele. My search for good Thai food continues.
This place used to have great food but today we ate pad Thai and red curry and it was extremely sweet even after ordering medium m. In fact sweeter than my Thai tea. Not coming back to place again
Ordered the lunch special pad Thai and drunken noodle. The food was excellent! Great flavors, will definitely be back
Good thai food! Quick service but always fresh.
Different style of Thai then I’m used to. But cute restaurant!
Food was good. Not amazing to me that I would crave it but good enough that I would go back. Service was great and food came out quick.
I had pineapple fried rice -delicious! My daughter's first time having Thai food and she loved it.
Ok. This is just ridiculously great food. Not just good....but very very good. Not a fancy dining room. But a must visit place. Well done 👍👍👍
Amazing food and staff are great. Must visit
Drunken noodles, edamame, dumplings, and brussle sprouts… all perfection! Service was great, and our server was so patient and sweet. Definitely suggest this restaurant
We went for dinner to try the place out and we're pleasantly surprised. The food and service were amazing.
The server told me the curry “spicyness” is rated on a scale of zero to five, with five being the hottest. I ordered the yellow curry, level zero. That’s the hottest, spiciest food I have ever tried.I could only take a few bites. I paid for my meal and left. I will never go back.
Loved the pad thai
The food was exceptional and the service was great. I order the beef pad se ewe and it was truly the best in years. My wife ordered the pad that and was equally pleased. The staff was kind enough to recommend a dish my picky kids enjoyed, then asked for more.
The food gave me a horrible tummy ache and nausea. Vegetable soup had zero taste. Fried rice seemed stale. Disappointed.
A must-visit for fans of Thai cuisine. The basil rice and crispy chicken herb fried rice are standouts, bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. The restaurant's commitment to quality and attention to detail are evident in every dish. From the warm hospitality to the vibrant atmosphere, Uptown Thai is a true gem. Don't miss the chance to experience this exceptional Thai restaurant!
Good food, good price.
Must try: Duck Curry and crab fry rice !
Basil Fried Rice is amazing!
the food was good. i like it ,BUT my gf don’t like it 😅
Best Thai food in cypress! I always order the green chicken curry. Speedy service. Food is packaged well when doing takeout.
The ambiance and music create a cozy atmosphere within this quaint restaurant. The service is super fast and helpful to unfamiliar or indecisive diners.
They offer spice levels 1-5 so I recommend pushing your spicy threshold with a Thai tea.
I got the Pad Thai. The flavor was good but it was very one dimension. Missing the sprouts and scallions for texture. Noodles were like box noodles. I was not impressed.
nice staffs
The Pad Thai (Thai Hot) is one of my favorites. Love the flavors and spices! What's even better is the consistency. No matter how many times I order it, it's always great. Love this place.
Had the Pad Thai and Calamari. Love me some Calamari which they delivered. The pad thai was also well made, had the chicken and beef w/ 3 level spicy. It was sweet and delicious. I give this a 👍
Really good Thai food at affordable prices, especially the lunch specials. The portion might be a little on the light side but the taste is on point. Special call out to the crab fried rice and the curries.
I love the cozy bistro style dining! Great atmosphere and the food is Amazing!!!!!
Food isn’t what it once was. Ordered pad Thai tonight it was super bland. It was good in the past but tonight was a disappointment
Food is amazing, there are different levels of spice from 1 - 5. 3 was all I could handle.
Service is wonderful.
I’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Ordered to go. Food quality is not that great. Had upset stomach for those who ate. Pricing differences online and at store
The best Thai food I have had on this side of town.
Everyone is very friendly and kind, and they go above and beyond to make sure you have a good dining experience.
Take out is always on point as well. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Wasn't impressed. First off if you don't like spicy then this isn't the place for you. I ordered pad Thai with shrimp and asked for 0 spicy on their scale of 0 to 5. I got my food and it was spicy! I told the waiter and he took the food back. He came back out a few minutes later, walked by the table and whispered that it was actually for another table then proceeded to give them my plate that I had just taken a bite from! (Ew)
Next he brought my plate out (again) and it was STILL spicy! So they still got it wrong. I couldn't eat it. For dessert I tried the custard and sticky rice. Not impressed at all. The sticky rice was a little salty and the presentation was not good. Looks like two blocks.
Last the customer service. When I came in I was not greeted and was confused if I was supposed to seat myself or if they'd do it (you seat yourself). They made me feel like I was bothering them when I asked.
I was very disappointed trying this place as the food looked good on IG and the reviews seem pretty good. Maybe it is but for me and my daughter we didn't like it and did not have a good experience.
Good food. Friendly service..
