serving curry, noodles and rice dishes. most dishes can be make vegan or gluten free
First time trying this restaurant, but definitely won’t be our last visit!
Staff is very attentive, low key atmosphere. Sat in the booth by the window ac, so that was on us. Got a little frozen by the end of the evening.
Didn’t get a photo of our potstickers because we inhaled them as soon as they hit the table. Hot jasmine tea and lemonade were very good.
The flying tiger tempura chicken with a side of white rice was very nice, and the coconut curry with chicken was tasty, even the next day as leftovers.
Sticky rice with mango was a bit sad, so we’ll try it another time and see if it was a one-off.
Worth a visit!
I liked this thai spot, it's got some really good choices on the lunch special and it's from 11-3pm . 12 bucks gets you you're choice of protein but their are up charges for beef and shrimp 🍤. The mini spring rolls were amazing. The fresh rolls also just hit different. The sauce was so good. The panang curry came with crispy noodles and gave me a vibe of thai nachos. It was good and different. The noodles [pad ew soon] or something like that was great the wife enjoyed it, they have different spicy levels .
Came here for a Friday night dinner. Arrived early, so wasn't crowded, but quickly filled up. In the main dining area, there's about 10 booths and about 6 tables. There's also some outdoor seating on the patio area.
A young gentleman and Vanessa were greeting, serving, and taking care of all the guests. They were very friendly and helpful throughout the meal. Vanessa was very passionate about the menu and was able to describe every dish in detail and make some great recommendations. She even talked about her Grandma's recipes used for the dessert menu.
Menu has all the classic Thai dishes from the appetizers, curries, noodles, and rice dishes. Started off with the Baby Egg Rolls and Thai Tea while decided on the main dishes. As soon as I ate the egg rolls, I knew anything on the menu was going to be good. For the meal, ordered the Pad Woon Sen with Pork and the Basil Eggplant Rice Dish with Chicken. All the dishes came out within 10 minutes and were amazing. Definitely made to order as were very fresh and made with care. I couldn't decide which was better as both were outstanding. I would want to order the exact same thing next time, but have to try everything on the menu now.
For dessert, ordered the Sweet Sticky Rice Mango and Thai Custard. I could tell these were homemade family recipes as both were like no other. Both were good desserts that weren't overly sweet.
Highly recommend this place for amazing food and service. I'll be back in the near future.
This place is a nice local Thai restaurant that I would recommend to anyone who loves and/or has never had Thai. All the dishes we had were very distinct in their flavors and were very tasty! The Thai coffee was delicious. The peanut sauce was also good. If you're in the area and are craving Thai, try it out!
Ordered a Thai iced tea and a coconut curry with vegetables. This came with a cucumber salad. The curry was excellent with rich flavors and it had a nice kick. The cucumber salad was fresh and tasty. For dessert got sweet sticky rice mango and it was perfect for ending the meal. Service was very good and inside the decor was nice and relaxing. Very much enjoyed dining here!
Expensive. I had the panang curry with (roast) pork, with summer rolls (pictured) and sweet tea. Attentive staff. I asked and got extra jasmine rice, and they did not charge for it. The food was ok, but I would go to the nearby Thai place at NW Military & Lockhill Selma for less expensive food.
First time eating here. Easy menu and chill atmosphere. It is BYOB, which is cool. The curry fried rice was great. Didn't care for the fresh rolls. Definitely get the thai tea. It's worth a try and bring your own wine or beer and enjoy some good Thai food. Two thumbs up 👍🏾 👍🏾.
I don't know if i just got a bad order or san antonio doesn't know what good thai is but i ordered drunken noodles and a tom yum soup and both were disgusting. Ive eaten these dishes at numerous thai restaurants across America and this might be the worst. The noodles where dry as heck and just all gummy and stuck together with litteraly no sauce on them which is exactly not what drunken noodles is. The tom yum was the most water down version of the soup I've ever seen. I asked for both to be medium spicy and neither were even remotely spicy. No thanks
Very relaxing & great food both dinner & lunch.
Best Thai food in San Antonio
If you want spicy go with mildest. Food is really good and the service is also friendly.

OMG! I have never had such fresh and delicious food until I came here! The crab ragoons are so yummy and come with this saffron sauce that is AMAZING! I also had the Panang curry. Let me tell you, it is perfectly spicy and absolutely delicious. I also ordered the garlic noodles with chicken. They were so fresh and light and again DELICIOUS! I highly highly recommend. Each time I’ve been was NEVER a disappointment.
Excellent service, Adam was great. We had Tom Yum Shrimp soup, chicken satay, chicken panang curry, and pad won Sen beef. Very flavorful and medium was just the right amount of heat. Highly recommend.
Really cute restaurant and great service but the pad Thai was disappointing :( I felt that it lacked flavor, was on the drier side, and a touch too sweet! Their tom yum was delicious though!
Good service and decent flavor. Too many fried items and not enough veg. Feels very fatty and not fresh

Wonderful fresh healthy food...
We LOVE the food and service here!!!! Delicious!
This place is legit, great fast service too. This is my new Thai spot from now on.
I want to be fair and honest about my rating. I arrived at this place and was kinda skeptical because there were few customers inside. The location is set and prepared for dine in customers but was fairly empty. The food met expectations. The food was not bad but it was not exceptional either.
Called in an order and it was ready when I got there. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Had the baby egg rolls and chicken satay and they were yummy. Will definitely have again when in that area.
Fantastic food and great service. The crab Rangoon were on the small side but perfectly fried. I had the Tom Yum soup, which had an odd sweetness to it, but was tasty otherwise. The crispy tofu were well-cooked. My partner had the Flying Tiger chicken with orange sauce, which had the best tempura breading I've ever had in my life. It was also a massive dish that easily served the two of us and left me taking some of my soup home to finish.
It's a small restaurant but everything was cooked to perfection. I'll definitely be returning, and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal to warm themselves up with.
Believe the hype! Delicious food, comfortable atmosphere, and refreshingly great service. Took my wife for a quick lunch date, and Vanessa was friendly and attentive. She recommended the garlic noodles (which I never would have gotten) and they were Delicious! My wife got Pad See Ew which was pleasantly tender and savory. Thai teas were beautiful and tasty as well. Highly recommend!
The service is attentive and fast. Some great food choices include: 1) coconut curry (good flavors 2) tom kha (nice coconut flavors) 3) Penang curry (except for the bbq pork-very bland), 4) sticky rice (jasmine flavored), 5) drunken noodle vegan option (really nice wokhei smell)
Some food that aren’t very good include all the appetizers (spring rolls were too cold), chicken satay (no flavor), crab Rangoon (too small portioned). The fried avocado is not bad but nothing special. The green curry is also very watered down. And the garlic noodle is not flavored as well.
Overall nice place and atmosphere.
Llamar varias veces y cuando llegas todos sentados y les dices que llamas y te dicen no a sonado y cuando estas emfrenre suiena que mal servicio pero en fin asi es la vida
This was my first time dining here. I love Thai and enjoy finding different places to try. The food was fresh and tasty, and the service was outstanding. We ordered a dish that had an unexpected ingredient we could not eat. We asked to have it replaced, and they did it gladly without charging us extra. The servers were super friendly without being overly so. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant. The music selection was also more midern and enjoyable. I will definitely visit again.
Staff, food, atmosphere, everything 10/10! Vanessa helped us out, she’s awesome.
First time trying this restaurant, but definitely won’t be our last visit!
Staff is very attentive, low key atmosphere. Sat in the booth by the window ac, so that was on us. Got a little frozen by the end of the evening.

Sticky rice with mango was a bit sad, so we’ll try it another time and see if it was a one-off.
Worth a visit!
I had the best curry dish of my life, and I am a curry lover! Their coconut curry with noodles was so delicious, perfect in every way as was the delicious vegetable potstickers that came with my lunch!
I am so excited to go back very soon for more!!
We have been going to Flying Tiger for quite a while now love the Food ,but most of all, the owner Pong, we love Vanessa and all the staff there very nice and friendly.
We go at least once a week sometimes 2.
My kids and I all have a wonder lunch when we are there.
Thank you guys for being you!
First time here, the portion size is awesome. enough for my wife to share and still have some to take home. Food had lots of flavor. Will definitely go back.
Everything was good here, the service and they also give you very large portions. I will be going back!
Cute little Family owned and operated Thai restaurant. The waiters and are all super nice and the food is amazing! It does get busy but that is just a testament to the place!
Don’t sleep on this I love the pad Thai, the yellow curry is also great.
Fresh and delicious!
I love their food. Their Garlic noodles with the BBQ pork is a must have. 10/10 but it’s a little pricey, $20 for the plate
Atmosphere is good but the rest is not.
Sooo good. I have tried several Thai restaurants around SA and by far this is the best place. I have dined in and taken out, and never disappointed, quite the opposite. This is the go to destination of Thai in SA.
Cute comfy atmosphere, friendly servers, great Coconut Curry and Pan Seared Salmon!!
Warm welcoming atmosphere and staff. Food is amazing—so so good. Most definitely a favorite place of ours now. Best customer service- super friendly, attentive , professional.
Just bad 👎 horrible service, musty smell, yikes... there are much better Thai restaurants in San Antonio. Don't waste your time and money here.
Had both the panang curry and pad woon sen and they were fantastic. Was not expecting the fried rice noodles with the curry, but it was a great match and will definitely get it again. Can't wait to try more items on the menu!
Love their spicy garlic noodles and fried rice. They give large portions too.
The pad thai was amazing. The pho was a little lacking.

Highly recommend this place for amazing food and service. I'll be back in the near future.
Thai, Perúvian and Pakistani food are my fav's. This gem is just outstanding as Thai Restaurant. Best Curri ever, to die for. I will come back with more family and friends. Excelente Service BTW. Congrats
My husband and I stopped by at the end of the lunch rush around 1:30pm. Allison, our server, was very personable and gave us great menu suggestions. The chicken satay was tender, had just the right amount of seasoning, and the peanut sauce was amazing. My husband tried the chicken potstickers and said they were really good without being greasy.
I got the panang curry with chicken and added veggies (at Allison’s suggestion) with a spice level of 3 and it was amazing! The fried wide rice noodles were sooo good.
My husband got the pad woo sen with chicken and said it was great and not filled with cabbage as a cheap filler and the veggies were chopped into smaller, bite sized pieces than other places he’s ordered that dish from.
I finished off my meal with the mango sticky rice which was sooo gooey, sweet, and warm with just the right amount of coconut. The mango was delicious too.
It’s a cute little place, BYOB, food and service were great. We will definitely come back again for those times we’re craving Thai food.
I love it here, everyone was so nice and the food is big portions and very affordable. I would definitely come back here again!
The best. Prices are reasonable. Service is excellent. Food is DIVINE. wow. 🤩
The food was outstanding. Great and friendly service. Definitely worthy of their rating.
Amazing place for Thai! Just in town visiting and had an incredible meal with kind and warm service, all at a very fair price, definitely worth the stop!
I had the Green Curry lunch special which came with Fresh Rolls. I ordered the curry with a number 3 spicy level and everything was delicious and fresh.
This truly is, the best pad Thai in San Antonio. Amazing service. You can tell the ingredients are a better quality than any other Thai place. Keep up the great work!
I recently ordered takeout from Flying Tiger Thai Place, and I have to say, the yellow curry was absolutely amazing! We decided to try it after a friend's recommendation, and it did not disappoint.
Our first experience at Flying Tiger was take-out. The staff was so nice, sweet and fun. Good was delicious. I highly recommend the Tom Ka & summer rolls
Best asian food dine in experience ever
Ordered a Thai iced tea and a coconut curry with vegetables. This came with a cucumber salad. The curry was excellent with rich flavors and it had a nice kick. The cucumber salad was fresh and tasty. For dessert got sweet sticky rice mango and it was perfect for ending the meal. Service was very good and inside the decor was nice and relaxing. Very much enjoyed dining here!
Friendly
AMAZING food & service!
Vanessa & her mom are absolutely wonderful people & made our first visit an excellent one!
We got Pad Thai & Orange Flying Tiger chicken! So good!
An instant favorite! Thank you!
Highly recommended!
Perfect for that Thai craving, service is fast and friendly. Everything is made in house and does not disappoint.
It was our first time eating there last week when we stopped in for dinner. We had the pad thai, cashew chicken, and mango sticky rice. The food was delicious, the service was attentive, and the prices were very reasonable. We even had enough left over for dinner the next night. The restaurant is small and cozy. We will definitely be back.
We saw an ad in the Ad Pages magazine and decided to try it on our 18th wedding anniversary. Food was absolutely delicious! We tried the Summer Rolls to start. So good!! The peanut sauce for dipping was so tasty. Husband had the BBQ pork fried rice and I had chicken Pad Thai. We both just went with spice level 1 and it was perfect for me. Both dishes were absolutely tasty and delicious. Then decided we needed dessert. The Thai custard was so good! So glad to have found this restaurant and will definitely be going back!
I am picky when it comes to Thai. My close friend met his wife in Thailand, and they ended up in Hawaii, which is where we met. Anyway, I was introduced to what Thai should taste like. Not just through their restaurant but via their recommendations.
The Flying Tiger reminds me of these experiences. The food is excellent, authentic and huge potions. It is family owned, and the staff is family and very friendly and kind.
My husband and I went twice and loved the food and service was alright. Now I just ordered takeout and the quality was completely different. The yellow curry was completely liquid/watery (not a tiny bit thick) and the stir fried garlic noodles were not stir fried, with clumps of noodles that were obviously put there after cooking and the sauce on top. Extremely disappointed, it was definitely a rushed job and not well done whatsoever. Two dishes for over $30 and it didn't meet expectations this time. Very unfortunate as I'm not sure if we'll be going back and I can't recommend this to friends.
Excellent food.
Amazing Thai food especially the curry is the best in San Antonio.
First time here and was very impressed. Arrived during lunch rush but the service was great. Our servers met all of our (5 of us) needs in a very timely manner and were very friendly and patient with us. Food was delicious and large enough portions to need a carry out box/sup. The fried Tofu was delicious and prepared perfectly to my liking, toasty on the outside, creamy on the inside, and still hot from the kitchen. The dipping sauce was sweet and a bit sour, not too spicy for me at all. The TomYum soup was also very delicious, tasty, flavorful broth with tomatoes, mushrooms, onion, and herbs and not too spicy either. My other 4 coworkers were also very pleased with their choices from the lunch and regular menu. We usually go to different restaurants on thurs/fri for lunch and have tried several Thai places as well as Indian, Mediteranian, Asian, etc places.....BUT, Flying Tiger will now be our Go-To place for Thai food lunch....And will be #1 on my lunch list of International Lunch places. Thanks to all your staff for a wonderful lunch.
We had an AMAZING experience!
Our food was quick, everything was clean, Hero our server was amazing and so friendly.
Spring rolls had shrimp, crab and chicken- very full and delicious peanut sauce to dip in.
Rangoons very fresh and full. (We loved them so much we ordered another round).
Coconut curry came in a large portion, flavorful hardly any spiciness (good for me), but you can request your spice level. My boyfriend ate the entire dish!
Even the water tasted clean, unlike many other restaurants.
Highly recommend and will definitely come back again.
Food was fantastic, but ask for Jeff! He speaks funny, but he's got a ton of great suggestions and recommendations!
We'll be back!
Small quaint restaurant, very friendly employees who are willing to answer any questions. Delicious food. Brings the heat.
This thai food is worth the drive every time. It's a small restaurant not far from the airport. I'm not sure of the young man's name who usually works the front counter, but he is so nice and is always helpful when placing an order. Everything I've tried here is good. From the Thai tea, mango rice, curry rice, shrimp dumplings, pad woo sen.
LOVE IT!!! Very Authentic food and friendly stuff and I highly recommend it!!!
The food was delicious. The service was outstanding. I loved the fried avocado.
First time here at the recommendation of a friend. Food selection was nice without being excessive and overwhelming. We ordered the mini egg rolls, fried tofu and fried avocado for starters. All very good and had different flavor profiles. Sometimes I feel like starters in a restaurant all taste the same, but this wasn't the case here. We ordered a variety of mains including the pad woonsen, pad thai, beef fried rice, and pad see ew. From heat levels of 0 to 3 which the latter definitely had a kick. Service was amazing. Portion sizes are generous and our dishes were piping hot. Very enjoyable experience.
Soooo good. But spicier than you think so be careful 🔥
Very good food
10/10 best in the city. I lived in Hawaii for 3 years and this is the only place that is just as authentic.
Great food. One of the top Thai spots in San Antonio.
Panaang with crispy noodles is amazing.
Medium spice is pretty dang hot, but soooo tasty. Big portions for Entree. If you don't want leftovers you will need to split.
It was me and my families first time eating here and it did not disappoint. The lunch portion is a good size and the food was delicious. Jeff and Vanessa were helpful with explaining the menu and their favorites. Great customer service and friendly staff. Will definitely be making the drive to come back soon.
Cost effective and delicious. I will certainly be returning.
The coconut curry was delicious fried avocado we truly enjoyed the service was top-notch enjoyed all of our food and the staff made us feel at home.wife enjoyed the pad thai definitely will visit again
Flying Tiger Thai Restaurant is a nice establishment with good food. The chicken satay with peanut sauce was great. Probably one of the better tasting peanut sauces I’ve ever had. The Tom Kha soup was great as well. The fried rice was quite good. The Pad Kee Mao was bit too much on the sweeter side though. We had everything made to spice level 5. Make sure to ask for the condiments rack. It will include dried chili, chili paste, crushed peanuts, and pickled jalapeños. Cool decor inside and outdoor seating was available. Service was friendly and courteous.
What a treasure of a find. A friend of mine that is notoriously picky about Thai food suggested it. I will continue to speak to this person LOL. Great call. It's small and the early bird catches the table, sometimes. I took one star off for the lack of AC, which they told us would be corrected soon. When it's cool outside they do have a small patio area. Vanessa was our server. She was so kind so sincere and so knowledgeable. You could tell she was proud of the food and the restaurant itself. And speaking of the food, everything we ordered was incredible. Large portions. And incredible, I had to say that twice. From the appetizer of fried avocados, I know it sounds strange but seriously try them. My friend said there was no way they would even think about eating those, till they tasted one and then ate three LOL make sure to get your friend their own order. Cucumber salad was fresh and delish. Dinners were great. Seems like they're making things as you order. At least it tastes that way very fresh. And the dessert? You've got to try the mango and sticky rice, not real sweet just delicate and delicious. And I had the taro custard. There are no words. It actually reminded me of my mother's Mexican bread pudding. Moist and flavorful. If this isn't on your Thai radar, you need to schedule it in. My friend lives in the neighborhood and has already become a regular. I am not nearby the restaurant but I know what I'm going to suggest to that friend when I visit!
Great service, hot fresh food, reasonable prices.
Delicious Thai food! I am very picky about Thai food because most places dishes’ taste the same. Flying Tiger is one of my favorites in San Antonio. They definitely give you healthy servings based on the prices. Service is very attentive. Also, they are a family owned and run restaurant, which I would rather support than a chain. Try their mango and sticky rice desert! It is their grandma’s recipe with a lovely “secret” ingredient added.
From the moment we went inside and were greeted by a wonderful young man, to when we left, our experience was top notch!!! Not only was the service over the top but the food was delicious!!! Highly recommend! We will be back!
Really like the chicken and beed Pad Thai and the Rangoons! Tried spice level 2 and 3. If your spice sensitive or low tolerance you want to stay at 2 or 1. Level 3 is accurate, medium Thai heat.. Highly recommend.
I also have to comment on the waitress/service, supremely nice and helpful. Very quick service, food was fresh and hot.
Great family run establishment managed with tremendous passion for their food and taste. The basil fried rice with tofu was amazing. We also ordered the basil eggplant and garlic chili noodles which were also great!
Well I don’t know where to begin stumbled across this hidden gem about 4 months ago and can’t stay away from this place it’s a family run business that takes pride and joy in serving the customer and it’s evident by the product they put out we’ve tried it all or almost all from appetizers to stir fry’s and all my God the curry’s are phenomenal all made fresh I could go on and but I think this will do for now thank you Pong,Vanessa and team keep on doing what you’re doing and I will continue to spread the good word.
Monday 1130am and its taxday 2024. Been wanting to try this place. Greeted and served by a lovely young lady. Since it was my first time I always try the pad thai with chicken. Completed with chicken dumplings and also encouraged by reviews to try the baby eggrolls as appetizer. Everything was great, lunch portionof an 8.5" plate was huge. Waitress asked for my hot scale that's between 1-5. She stated 3 was serrano pepper spice/hotness and 2 was jalapeño...so I tried 2. Slightly spicy with a little tingling on my lips but enjoyed it very well. I'll come back again! Give them a try 👍😉
First time here ordered take out. Green curry with "extra chicken". Food was alright but if this is "extra" chicken i would hate to see the amount of chicken that comes in it normally not worth the extra price for sure.
As someone who has lived in Thailand, I can honestly say this is an excellent place for authentic Thai food. Finding good (AUTHENTIC) Thai food here in San Antonio is a challenge, to say the least, but Flying Tiger hits the mark. Their pad see ew is the best, most authentic, that I’ve had outside of Thailand. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I only took a star because I’m a jerk and couldn’t think of a reason not to give it a 5 star. Good, fresh veggies in the Thai dish I had, which was well-cooked overall. Nice diligent hostess. Clean and neat atmosphere. Mild prices. No complaints really.
I enjoyed the miny egg rolls, shrimp pad thai and mango sticky rice.
Every bite is a symphony of flavors. The mini egg rolls, with their crispy exterior and savory fillings, set the perfect tone for the meal. The shrimp pad thai, bursting with authentic Thai spices, is a true highlight, leaving taste buds dancing with joy. I did try spicy lecel 2. And to end on a sweet note, the mango sticky rice is a heavenly dessert, with perfectly ripe mango complementing the sticky rice flawlessly, and the coconut milk was nice and warm with a hint of cinnamon or maybe cardamom. For sure, delicious!!
With impeccable family service and a cozy ambiance, this restaurant is a must-visit for any Thai food enthusiast.
My husband and I go here probably once a month if not more great vegetarian options I love it so much so many choices. You can put tofu in anything instead of the meat. My husband loves their peanut butter dream I believe that's what it's called he gets it with beef I get it with tofu but everything great
I was so hungry and distracted with family that I forgot to take good pictures. Coconut curry with shrimp was delicious, everything I tasted was delicious but that was my favorite. Mango Sticky Rice was fantastic as well. Would recommend, very friendly and they accommodated a large party with a reservation of the side room. Happy to recommend!
Excellent food and service. The food had a lovely presentation and and carefully prepared. The coconut curry was delicious! Highly recommend.
Great Food at a reasonable price. There are several Asian food choices in Castle Hills, but this is my choice.
Truly enjoyed my experience here. The service is just great. The food is superb. I really loved the Tom Yum soup and desserts. The beef salad is amazing. If you love mango sticky rice, I think you will be impressed. The recipe is slightly different in the very best way. All of the dishes we ordered were cooked fresh. I was impressed. Come here. You will not be disappointed with the food or the service. I'm glad I didn't go to the other Thai place!!
The crab rangoons were perfection I loved how they used less wonton and allowed the cream cheese to be the focus of the dish,
Cute family owned spot, food was spot on, so flavorful. Our waitress was so hospitable we felt so welcome the second we stepped inside.
The BEST crab Rangoon EVER! The server was so helpful. I had the Pad Thai and it was amazing. Definitely recommend! Try the Sweet Thai tea because, delicious 😋!
Wow! This place was so cute on the inside! We had the Thai fried rice and the Pad Thai and the food was sooo good! The fried avocado was light and the perfect appetizer! The waitress was so sweet and attentive! And the place is family owned! A+++
Great neighborhood restaurant with delicious food!!
The staff was friendly and the food was ready by the time I arrived to pick it up. The portion sizes were a good size and they included utensils and sauce without having to ask for them.
A family restaurant, great service, and food was delicious.
Flying Tiger is my favorite Thai restaurant in San Antonio. The food never disappoints! The Pad Thai, Flying Tiger Chicken, and Panang Curry are my favorite dishes. The owner, Pong, is such a kind person and is always genuinely grateful to us for dining in her restaurant. The service is always excellent, even when they’re super busy. Highly recommend trying Flying Tiger Thai if you haven’t been yet!
We looked for something different to eat Saturday night.. And the high reviews on yelp led us to Flying Tiger. First time eating Thai and first time going to a Thai restaurant.
We had the summer rolls and Cocunut Curry with chicken. THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! We didn't know what to order and Vanessa was a great help with explaining everything to us.
The service is outstanding, the environment is warm and inviting, and the food is so flavorful and delicious. I definitely will be back to try other entrees. I will definitely tell everyone I know about this hidden gem!
Great new restaurant. I really enjoyed the Thai beef salad! Very reasonably priced too!!
We don’t live on this side of town, but thought we’d try something new and Thai sounded great. Flying Tiger was the perfect choice. Vanessa was our server and she was awesome. We told her we were having a bad day and she surprised us with ice cream after our meal and said it’s on the house as she likes ice cream when she’s having a bad day. Super thoughtful of her. And the food… was so delicious. We tried the chicken pot stickers- the sauce was soo good. For our entrees, we enjoyed the Chicken Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. Will definitely make the half hour drive and return again!
I had the Pad Woon Sen and egg rolls. Delicious!!! Can’t wait to return!
I have tried pretty much every Thai restaurant in SA and this one is up there in top 3. It's not better than ThaiDee but nothing to turn the other cheek too. The spring rolls were fantastic. Nice and big and very full not rubbery and just the right amount of basil in them to not take away from the rest of the roll. I got the green beef curry at extra spicy. I wish the spicy was more spicy and the curry wasn't green (1st for me). The eggplant and bamboo shoots in the curry were cooked to perfection though. I am mad that I moved out for the Castle Hill area than a new Thai place shows up because I would definitely be eating here more. Also my favorite curry panang curry says it's with noodles so that is off to me also but I will try them next time I go.
Delicious authentic food with amazing service! The lunch specials are great with an appetizer and entree.
A place you must try if you love Thai food. My husband is very peculiar about food and said his fried rice was one of the best he has had here in SA. I’m not going to lie, our order took forever but we were told it was their busiest night since they opened about six months ago. Even though our servers were running up and down, they kept an amazing attitude. We were patients and the wait was worth it. Definitely a place we will continue going :)
Best Padd Thai since moving to San Antonio in 2015. Also, the coconut curry is similar to Kao Soy if you've had that before. I've never realized how hard it is to find Kao Soy before. I'm very happy to have found it here! Wife and I agree that we might need our entrees a little more spicy than medium spicy but it was still wonderful. I might ask to have my coconut curry with rice noodles next time. It is how I'm used to having mine. It is just a texture thing. Not right or wrong. And maybe extra lime to cut the sweetness a little. Still worth 5 stars because of how happy I am.
They were super busy with people waiting for a table. Vanessa and everyone were HUSTLING & BUSTLING to ensure that everyone was taken care of. They were awesome!
Great!!!
I highly recommend this place. The basil eggplant with beef is excellent. The Thai tea is freaking awesome! Peanut sauce, pad Thai, etc. It was all great! And the owner is the kindest ever. She was so friendly and nice!
This is my new favorite Thai restaurant. The service is outstanding and the food is amazing. Ate here with my partner and when they realized tlwe were sharing everything they brought out sharing plates without asking. We got the Tom Kha, Thai basil eggplant and spicy noodles everything was amazing. We got a custard to go it was do taste. Can't wait to eat here again.
Really enjoyed my eggplant fried rice.
Very nice family owned restaurant that was also very clean.
My server Vannesa was very kind, and gave awesome service. This is a spot I’ll be coming back to try other items in the menu.
Give them a try you won’t regret it!
Can't think of a better place to eat. Never a bad choice, never a bad experience
There’s so many to share, but I’m gonna leave you with a few this time and bring you more next time!!! Second time here phenomenal family owned, family affair, everything is definitely 💯.. Pong , and her lovely daughter, Vanessa very sweet, very professional, very knowledgeable in the culture and their food that they make! It’s definitely gonna be your favorite I guarantee you!!
Easily the best restaurant to occupy the building! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and the food is wonderful.
We went today to Flying Tiger Thai restaurant. My husband and I enjoyed the food we ordered pad Thai, chicken pot stickers, and ba mee! The food and service was really great! We will definitely be returning soon.
Best Thai food I’ve had in years.
Impeccable Service and Menu is off the charts! Not very busy which we enjoy, perfect for a date lunch, Clean and Polished Atmosphere, Sauces are amazing made to order and not sitting on the table, overall highly recommend.
Amazing Thai food and great service! I moved from NYC and couldn’t find a good spot until now. I loved the pad see ew and mango sticky rice.
Fantastic pad see ew! Best Thai restaurant in San Antonio. Great service from a family run restaurant.
We ordered the red curry, green curry, pad woon sen (glass noodles), and Larb. Larb was just ok, but the other 3 dishes tasted great. Clean, nice looking place with good food and service (my only complaint is being charged 3$ for a small bowl of extra rice, maybe that's the asian in me expecting it to be cheaper or free:))
This was our first time to Flying Tiger and our experience was without a doubt one of the very best dining experiences our family has ever had. So much so that someone that never gives reviews had to acknowledge the impressive work they are putting in. We were missing our favorite Thai restaurant after moving from San Diego and Flying Tiger out did themselves. The yellow curry and pad ke mow (drunken noodles) were honestly the best I’ve ever had. The ambience and staff were amazing too. Hero and Vanessa were extremely informative and so warm and friendly. We can wait to go back and try more things. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I wish more restaurants had this same hospitality standard and high quality delicious food. Thank for such a wonderful experience!
The food was fresh and delicious
From the service to the food itself, this place is phenomenal! Vanessa was so kind and as it was a cold day she offered to bring the heater out for us! We will absolutely return again and again to support this family owned business!
Cozy family Thai spot, their curries are on point, coconut soup was flavorful, decently priced! Will come back for sure
Ambience, check. Been to this building before because it's been a few other, albeit different cuisine, dining establishments in the past decade. Enough parking, open entrance. They decorated with lights outside, booths as well as a patio available. Cultural kitschy adorns a few walls, good environment for conversations. Anyways nice to be able to hear each other.
Service, check! We were greeted in from the cold as soon as possible. Our server, Vanessa, is the daughter to the owner and was awesome. Vivacious Vanessa was insensitive, honest when she did not know something; attentive, but made sure to let us know we were free to take our sweet time with our dining experience. Speaking of sweet, we started with the sweet Thai Teas, which came in Kodak moment gigantically tall vessels. Yummy teas were as good as they looked!
Drinks and food, check! The best thing is that you could tell that even though everything came out reasonably quickly, it was definitely made to order. We ordered 3 share items. Fried Avocado, while not very Thai, came out toasty and delicious with a spicy mayonnaise. Five to the order. Fried tofu were a little plain, but that's why it came paired with a great sweet + sour sauce. The triangles were a little toasty for the first few seconds, then melted into your mouth! Tom Yum Soup comes with your preference heat level from 1-5. We chose a 1. Added the shrimp. There were about 3 shrimp for the extra charge, honestly a little rubbery, soup was a little lukewarm, but the spices were on point! The entrees we selected were the Pa Woon Sen, the Thai Fried Rice, and the Yellow Curry. With barbeque pork heat level 1, chicken heat level 3, and barbeque pork again but the heat level 3, respectively. Noodles were cooked well; I know how easy it is to get those potato starch noodles mushy in a hurry! Seasoning was excellent and flavorfully tossed in with bean sprouts, eggs, peas. Thai Fried Rice was again tasty, basic with eggs, onions, peas but flavorful. High heat factor. Yellow Curry was definitely a mild heat level, with potatoes and carrots, missing some greens! They know their Thai flavors well here, the seasoning was on point again.
Why missing the final star? I have to say the heat level was inconsistent, which might be very important to some serious Thai dining connoisseurs. The Yellow Curry, for example, was a 3 but had barely any heat, except one of us said he got a single spicy potato! Maybe the chili got stuck somewhere? We were commenting we could smell the spiciness from the Thai Fried Rice, in contrast to the curry, even though both were 3 heat levels. Was probably something like a 4 to 5. The Tom Yum Soup was a 1 but definitely had much more heat level and you could even eye the chili flakes. Also a 1, the Pad Woon Sen dish actually was the only dish that served like it was accurately prepared matching the heat level customization, with very mild spices. Other than that, the actual seasoning flavors for everything were marvelous.
Maybe have to return to see whether the spice levels were an honest mistake, because even if they were, minor complaint from me!
Step into Flying Tiger, where each dish is an invitation to a flavor adventure. Start with the Chicken, where textures play a delightful symphony, complemented by a sweet and tangy mango salsa that pops with color and taste.
The soup with Bok Choy and crispy noodles isn't just a meal; it's an experience. The creamy curry sauce and tender vegetables wrap around each noodle, urging your taste buds to explore every nuanced spice.
Then comes the Shrimp. Here, crispy wontons set the stage for succulent morsels, all in a creamy sauce with just the right amount of kick. It’s a memorable dish that you will relish in delight.
The ambiance at Flying Tiger adds to the experience. The staff's genuine smiles make you feel welcomed, and the eclectic decor, featuring spirited artwork and a golden cat, creates a vibrant atmosphere. Hopefully with it some luck.
And finally, the Curry. Whether it's chicken or tofu, whatever your delight, each bite of this gives basil-infused curry with fresh vegetables is like a verse in a flavorful tune.
The friendly and warm atmosphere was able to satiate my party’s celebration but is also suited for a lunchtime refresher, a snack, a date, or even a resplendent rendezvous.
First time and very impressed for a simple dine-in experience. Food was good and service was well above the norm.
This is the best Thai food I have found in San Antonio. I come at least once a week even though I live quite far away. Portions are perfect, the food has actual flavor, and the pricing is fair. And it's almost always pretty empty so you never have to wait for a table.
Give Jeff a raise please we love him <3
Alright Thai. Not spicy enough. A little expensive
We love Thai food and so we decided to try this after church after reading all the reviews. So glad we did! The ambience of the restaurant is so nice with its Asian influenced decor, so refreshing from all the bland strip mall places that abound all over town. The surroundings help to put you in the mood to enjoy some authentic Thai food. Our server is the chef’s granddaughter and she was so sweet and such a beautiful young lady. The food was so tasty and fresh. We had the baby egg rolls and edamame as an appetizer. My son had the coconut curry and it’s so comforting and delicious. The flavor was perfection. I had the Ba Mee and it was so delicious and nutritious for body and soul with the roasted garlic and all the vegetables cooked to perfection with some roasted pork topping. My other son had the Thai fried rice with chicken. It was so savory and absolutely delicious with the right balance for a fried rice dish with the veggies and protein! For dessert we had the mango with sweet sticky rice and it was so deliciously infused with delicate jasmine. We also shared the fried banana cream cheese roll topped with chocolate that was so rich and decadent that we couldn’t even finish both rolls between the three of us. The sign of a great restaurant for me is when you stuff yourself and yet you still feel good. That’s when you know that not only is the food delicious but it is also high quality, healthy food. Highly recommend!!
I noticed this place on Google maps, and thinking I had tried nearly every Thai restaurant in town, I immediately browsed the few reviews that existed. A photo of the beef pad see ewe caught my attention and looked very promising.
The menu had the basic Thai entrees, while offering a few new items I had not seen at other places, but once seated and browsing the menu, the garlic noodles caught my attention.
I normally rank Thai restaurants by their beef pad Thai, and being this was my first visit I was hesitant to order something else, but we decided to skipped the pad Thai, and instead share some beef pad see ewe and garlic noodles.
The food arrived after a short wait, maybe a little more than 10 minutes, and everything looked great. The portion of pad see ewe was large, and the amount of beef on the garlic noodles was very generous.
We both took a few spoonful's of each and took our first taste. The pad see ewe was a bit different, but not odd. I've had similar pad see ewe at what was once named "The best Thai restaurant in America" Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas. Their pad see ewe had this same distinct seasoning, and after talking to that restaurant, was told they import their spices from abroad. The noodles were coated in a powdery like seasoning that leaves them a bit gritty, but gives them this flavor. The flavor while decent, was lacking something, the main problem with the pad see ewe was that the noodles were clumping together.
The garlic noodles were pretty good, but the garlic had a little bit of an odd flavor. The bowl was layered with noodles on top of large lettuce leaf's, and topped with beef. The whole dish didnt taste like fresh pressed or diced garlic, but more like a garlic powder or maybe some kind of garlic paste. I wasn't sure what it was, but the flavor I feel, could have been better.
I would give the pad see ewe a 7.5/10 and the garlic noodles a 7/10.
The staff was very friendly, we spoke with them for a few minutes, and service was good. Food was fresh, portions were large, and prices were fair.
Don’t skip eating here. We have been very happy with the food quality and taste. Definitely try all the appetizers(tiny egg rolls, shrimp puffs and fried avocado are our favs) We love the pad Thai and the green curry plates. Also the cream cheese bananas dessert is amazing
Good serving sizes and mouthwatering flavors. Service was excellent! Excited to have more Thai options nearby.
The best Thai food! Our waiter Jeff was so sweet and nice, he made our experience so amazing! Amazing food and amazing service, we will definitely be back! Thank you!!! :)
