The portions here were huge! The service was unusually attentive for an Asian restaurant. Very spacious interior and vibrant. They were very friendly too. The pho was piping hot and delicious. The food came very fast and they had no issues splitting checks. Plenty of free parking. Will visit again the next time I’m in Austin.
This place came up in our restaurant search on the way home, and we decided to give it a try, and we're really glad we did. This seems to be a hidden gem bc this plaza looks almost dead, but when you go inside the restaurant, it's packed full of people who already know this place is good. The service was great, they even asked if we had any allergies to peanuts or mushrooms. Most of the dishes are single serving, but they are so huge you can share family style. The combination vermicelli bowl was massive and they give you a ton of meats, veggies, noodles, and the lemongrass seasoning was great without being too heavy handed. The crispy noodles birds nest dish was also massive and delicious, I like to mix up the noodles in the sauce so they get a little softer. The sizzling lemongrass beef plate was my favorite dish, and they also gave me a huge side of rice. The beef was so tender and flavorful, I thought I couldn't finish it, but I ate it all cuz it was soooo good! Well, the secret is out, this place is awesome, prices are great and portions are huge, you definitely get your bang for the buck! I highly highly recommend this place.
Came back with the rest of my family and we all tried their Pho, and it was really really good. The broth was beefy and flavorful, and there was tons of meat and rice noodle. The tendon was actually cooked perfectly. One of my favorite dishes here.
Seafood puffs rangoon- 10/10 we had to order a second plate!!! The smoked squid was deeply infused with the smoked charcoal flavor from the grill- 10/10. We tried the duck panang curry, the steak panang curry, and the lamb shanks- all of them 10/10! All the curries had mushrooms and bell peppers.
Everything about this place was excellent, the food was so delicious!
The steamed Dumplings 🥟 were stellar, I had to order a second order! 🐽.
I put that dumpling sauce on everything!!!
I ordered the Flat rice noodles with chicken and beef which was divine and the bestie ordered the BBQ pork fried rice which was also very tasty, top that meal off with the mango sticky rice and awesome service and you get a five star review! I most definitely will recommend and will definitely come here again!! 💯
My sister and I ordered take out and the people were so nice and you get a good amount of food for the price. I ordered the pho p2 and it was so good. My sister ordered their tofu green curry and that was also delicious.
Worth the wait. The Pad Thai was so delicious. Bring your appetite the portions are enough to take home leftovers. Comfy chairs, too!
Best pho in Austin
I have only done dine-in once. It was a good experience. Food & service both good. I've had much more takeout. Of the few dishes I've tried, all were very good. I can usually get two meals out of the chicken pad Thai and curry meals. The red snapper with red curry is probably my favorite. Yellow chicken curry is also good. The service at the pickup counter is always friendly and fast.
These guys are truly the best! Delicious food, incredible service by their friendly staff, great portions and more than fairly priced. Any restaurant should aspire to be as great as 888. The seafood puffs and the pho are fantastic.
Amazing food
This place used to be good. Nowadays the portion in terms of protein vs carb ratio is too little for the price. The pho is mid, nothing to write home about. The panang duck curry was the first thing I ate today and immediately upsetted my stomach right after. Will not come back
This place is incredibly good! I was very impressed with the different food you can get and it all tastes pretty dang good. Would reccomend. I knew it was a good sign when I showed up at 9pm and it was packed.
Absolutely love and adore this place for take outs. Their yellow curry and pad kee mao have been my go to orders for years. They’re very consistent in their cooking and never disappoint. LOVE!
Wish they’d add more sakes or cocktails for a fun dine in experience as well.
Always love this place. Cozy atmosphere and efficient service!
I definitely love this place. I have eaten here since 2010 when they were open till 2am. My favorite dish is the pineapple fried rice.
Great Food! Service Is Good! Atmosphere Is Chill!
Quick and delicious. Best pho in Austin.
good. busy, wait 1 hr outside.
great food
Was super delicious. I had duck 🦆 green curry and chicken satay omg so good.
Can't w8 to go back
Everything was really good and tasty! Especially their coffee was a blast.
Regular here 🙋🏻♂️—888 has great service and their food tastes amazing. We never have to ask for refills and the servers are always checking on us. Their wonton soup 🍲 is seasoned so well and I love ordering their lo mein. The only constructive criticism I have for the restaurant is that they sometimes rush you into ordering right away.
Good restaurant overall, it can get busy during dinner time. Service is fast.
Viet-Chinese options
Friday night, super busy and everything was great, very good food and service was exceptional.
I’m so full rn
It’s been awhile since I’ve been to 888, we ordered the curry which had flavour good portion size, the pad Thai was pretty good too. We ordered the egg noodle wonton soup, the broth was ok, the wonton was not good at all. They were mushy, no flavor, the texture was weird, I gagged while eating it. Besides the wontons everything else was fine.
Everyday came out hot and fast. Couldn't ask for more
The food was excellent, hot and fresh. We had chicken fried rice, orange chicken and steamed dumpling. We will be back.
Never Returning Again -
I visited this restaurant last night with high expectations, only to be met with the most horrendous dining experience I have ever encountered. We arrived around 8 PM, and the place was packed, which only fueled my excitement for what I assumed would be a fantastic meal. We were seated 15 minutes later, and it took another 15 minutes for us to place our order. At this point, a mother and son sat to our right, followed by two men to our left, and a lady on the far side. All of them were seated after us, yet somehow, they all received their food before me—despite having ordered earlier. My partner’s meal arrived in about 10 minutes, but I sat there watching others around me eat while I was left empty-handed.
As time passed, I gave the staff the benefit of the doubt, assuming they were just busy. But 20 minutes turned into 40, and by the time I looked around, my neighbors were happily slurping their pho and enjoying their sizzling hot dishes while I was still waiting for my shrimp vegetable delight. The waitress passed by multiple times and saw that I hadn’t been served, yet only acknowledged it when she took another order from the table next to me.
The embarrassment really set in when nearly an hour had passed and people around me started noticing. The woman to my right even said, “That should be taken off your bill at this point, because that’s just ridiculous. I hate that this is happening to you.” I couldn’t believe it. It was utterly humiliating.
Finally, after nearly an hour or so, my food arrived. But by then, my appetite had completely vanished. When I told the server I no longer wanted the meal, she offered no compensation or apology—only a passive comment about taking it to go.
What made it worse was that no one, not even the owner, came over to apologize or offer any genuine acknowledgment of the situation. It was as if my inconvenience was insignificant. My partner asked for the bill, and we left immediately.
Let me be clear: I don't want a single reply from the owner to this review. The time was last night, and nothing anyone could say now will make up for the sheer disrespect and embarrassment I endured. This experience is irreparable. I will never return to this establishment. This was one of the worst dining experiences of my life, and I will be sharing this on every platform I can. Do yourself a favor and do not waste your time here.
Great service and food. They were accommodating to my food allergies as well.
The panang curry is amazing. I get it regularly at 888 and it never disappoints.
Service is awesome. Plates are huge amounts of food.
I absoultely love 888, always fresh, authentic, hot, great prices and large quantities! I ordered take out last night and because I was the last customer they gave me an extra chicken dish and rice, very kind of them to do! I will always go here for my asian food fix!!
Rude waiter, spoke to me stupid. Asked him directly not to be rude, continued his condescending attitude justifying it by saying it’s busy. No sir, just because it’s busy doesn’t mean you talk to me like I’m a hinderance. Will not be returning
Was greeted promptly at door and no wait time to be seated. Food was reasonable priced and flavor was amazing on everything we ate. Even their simple dishes of beef fried rice were bursting with flavor
I had a great experience here. Friendly servers and good ambiance. I had a fantastic soup and cashew nut chicken that I ate for two meals. The spices were delicious, not too salty nor too sweet. Very fresh vegetables. I dined alone and the servers were really helpful with good suggestions and kindness. The menu is full with lots to choose from. I'll be back.
The food was very good. However I noticed my favorite dish, the salt and pepper squid dish, seems to have changed recently.
It used to be lighter, crispier, and had a clearer color which was delicious. Now it is a bit thicker, doughier, and has a yellow color. The taste is still decent, but wish it was back to the previous style.
Rushed service, but food was delicious.
I was extremely disappointed in my experience with this restaurant. I had high expectations as it was highly recommended by a good friend of mine however it definitely let me down. The food has left me sick for the last couple of days and I definitely will never go back. Eat there at your own risk!!
Take out is always fast and friendly. The food is epic fresh and delicious
This place slaps every single time! Best food and fast service 🤠👌🏻
Tasty. Long wait at times, but worth it
Great food 😋
Great everything, food service and atmosphere. Each time I come I feel great, so many delicious options
Been going here for years! Best comfort food ever. I recommend the curry!
Servers were great and so was the food
I recently visited 888 after not having been there for a while, and I was pleasantly surprised by the updated interiors—they’ve done a great job refreshing the space. The food remains delicious, just as I remember, and the service was attentive throughout the meal. It’s nice to see that they’ve kept their quality high while making improvements to the atmosphere. A solid choice for a great dining experience!
Used to go here all the time when I lived in Austin. Was good to see it still open and the food was as good as I remembered
After coming here for over a decade and mainly ordering the same dishes, this place became hit or miss. Our last dining experience was awful. Decided to try hot tea for the first time in a while and it was two tea bags in a pot. The tea had no aroma or taste. We ordered a favorite Pad Thai and again it was missing any sort of flavor. When we asked if they could add lemon grass or something else, the part owner told us to leave and never come back loudly, so as other patrons would hear him. We paid and left never to return. The hostility from owner was not only outrageous and not acceptable. Not something I would have expected from the years of coming here.
Huge portions (👍🏼), server was a bit off-putting (👎🏼), menu not updated “since forever ago now” to reflect which ingredients they haven’t used in a really long time (one example: instead of shiitakes, they use plain white mushrooms)(👎🏼), and food quality is fine but not unique in any way. Prices are generally great for the amount you get though!
Best hidden gem in Austin!
I had heard great things about this place, which is why I drove 45 minutes for it. When my spouse and I drove away, I said on the way home, "That was the worst Asian cuisine I've ever had." I never imagined I'd ever say that about any restaurant food, but it was subpar, unremarkable, and even gross. The royal platter over burnt, one of our sauce cups had hair in it, the fried rice was bland, and the sauces were cold. ...I'll stick to Fire Bowl.
Austin staple for a Asian food . Everything is good. Large portions an good prices. Nice staff. Very quick too..
888 deserves a Michelin star
Foods always spot on
Great service, quick service, attentive staff, my favorite is the the crab ragoons
And everything pretty much on the menu. Eat here you’ll love it!
Staff is very attentive and courteous. Food amazing. The duck tacos are legit.
El lugar esta en una zona horrible. El servicio solo puedes pedir por teléfono eso ya es muy viejo. Y la comida no se me hizo tan genial a como dicen
This is one of my favorite places in Austin. The food is always great, and the staff is always friendly. The vegetable stir fry is my go to.
Omg… I’m so impressed!!! I’ve been looking for authentic Vietnamese & Thai food close to my childhood comforts and their recipe? AMAZING. 10/10 DEFINITELY recommend a go to spot for dinner; especially the PHO!
Best Pan Asian restaurant in the city. Service here is always good and the staff is friendly. The Sizzling Red Snapper with the Red curry sauce is highly recommended. I tend to recommend their stir fry dishes and chef's special dishes to visiting friends.
I ordered the yellow curry with flank steak and it was so yummy!
WORST FOOD POISING OF MY LIFE. Ordered a P12 Pho, later that night woke up at least 7 times to run for the restroom vomiting with diarrhea. It’s the next day and I am still struggling. Stomach cramps, dizzy, blurry vision even at times, off the chain nausea and diarrhea. Symptoms so egregious I’ve considered going to an ER.
Not what it used to be but still standard, dependable Asian American food. Super efficient and kind wait staff!!!

Some of the best Pho I have had outside of Vietnam. Well worth a try
Great service from Mr Ryan. Been there multiple times he always have that smiling face and very helpful. Food is amazing.
Excellent food and service. Very personable wait staff. Decor could be updated.
Food is hit and miss. Some items tasty, others very average. However it is quite affordable. Service is fast, which is what I contribute to the average dishes being average. If they could just dedicate an extra 3 minutes to our orders to make sure everything taste well and sauces get reduced enough, etc..might make for a better experience
Food was very good, wish the place was more clean.
Great portions and good flavor, always very attentive service.
Best Pho’kn I’ve had in a while. Service was also excellent.
Great for ANY Asian dish you are craving....
I got so hyped by the reviews that I was let down, but the service was good, the food was good. Would go back.
Best fried rice I have ever had. I also loved the pork egg rolls and crab rangoon.
Omg I love this place so much! The Vietnamese food is so good and reasonably priced!! Had the grilled pork with vermicelli and spring rolls the first time- love how huge the portion is and all the fresh veggies it comes with. Tastes so healthy and fresh while being delicious.
Second time I got the pho (they let me order the grilled pork even tho it wasn't on the menu) and the steamed dumplings. Wow the pho soup was so flavorful and the dumplings were fantastic. I tried my friends Thai green curry and it was so good, I wanted to steal it all.
Only one major issue with this place - there's no delivery option and I don't have a car! If there was delivery I’d probably order once a week! (Now I depend on a friend to take me haha)
Your typical American Asian foods, but great for movie night take out at the house.
I was skeptical since it was a pan-Asian restaurant, but when I stepped in, I realized it was Vietnamese owned and really enjoyed my giant portion of pho.
Huge portions, good price, great food, and VERY fast service. Love the staff here. Drunken Devil, highly recommend 👍
Absolutely fabulous food! Service is fantastic as well.
Went in for combination rice left with nothing. Soon as I sat down to wait for my food the table across from me had roaches running from the top to the bottom of the table after one of the workers came from the kitchen an placed the menu on the table. Immediately asked for a refund and left
AMAZING PLACE THE SERVICE IS EXQUISITE OK AND THE FOOD IS TOP OUT OF THIS WORLD I NEVER EAT ANYWHERE ELSE I LOVE THIS PLACE
Great service, and excellent food! My veggie pad thai was amazing - with Tofu and my choice of veggies cooked to perfection. Loved it! Must visit place in Austin, TX.
Food was great I love the vermicelli bowls an the spring rolls I've only been to 3 Vietnamese spots while in Austin an this is hands down the best on yet
Food was good but service wasn't the best. The waiter was in such a hurry he spilled water a full glass of water on the table which spilled on me and by 4 year old daughter. Then hands me the check. No apologies. No discount.
The food here is really good, well presented. Helpful service. We hope to go back.
I had orange sauce with chicken. This is one of my favorite dishes here. I have no picture this time but I can tell you it was outstanding. The staff is great they make you feel very welcome. We go there 1 or 2 times a month.
Man this place just crushes. Big fan of the beef pad Thai!
Was my go to spot for almost 10 years great food but literally today I'm more than sure they changed or purposely gave me a smaller portion of noodles on my usual plate of Rice Noodle Soup. This is something I order all the time so it was easily noticeable so although it was tasty I will part ways with this restaurant and start trying other Asian cuisine restaurants especially if I'm driving 30 min away just to buy this dish I want my money's worth so 888 it was nice but I will no longer spend my money here.
My every time I'm in Austin dinner ... must have Pho....
Great spot for cheap late-night snacks! Lots of locals go there. The food was decent, not amazing, but the staff was really friendly and helpful. The place looks a bit old since it’s been around for more than 30 years.
I ordered the Salt and Pepper Chicken and was given a plate of literal fried dough with little chicken specks inside. It did not taste like chicken. I understand ingredients are expensive and restaurants have to make money but at least serve customers some protein. The dish was $14.50 and all the pieces are just bread. I’m so disappointed and so tired to even send the food back. I feel robbed and scammed. It was so hard to get attention of a server for silverware, the other guests in the restaurant had to get a server’s attention for me. Terrible food, terrible service. And it’s definitely not authentic Vietnamese or Asian cuisine so if you want that, look elsewhere. I only went here because it was late at night and nothing else was open but I wish I just stayed hungry and went home instead.
The food was really good i got spring rolls and they were huge really filling and their wonton soup so good also my brother got the sesame chicken it was fire amazing. my moms favorite dish in the world is sesame chicken she said it was the best in austin she’s had. mango sticky rice was best i’ve ever had
The Panag curry was a creamy mess with no flavor. The fried rice was shockingly flavorless. The general tso chicken was the saving grace
best first experience! the food is amazing and authentic! good food, good atmosphere, and great staff!
Where else can you get pan asian food in the middle of the night? Enough said. But seriously, an Austin classic. Nothing fancy but it's consistent, and it's good.
The service was wonderful. It is too bad that the shrimp fried rice was so dry that it was almost crunchy.
This was a takeout order. Had I been dining at the restaurant I would have sent the food back.
I was very disappointed that a seemingly successful place like 888 would send people home with food that was dry and unpleasant to eat.
Love the Thai Flat Noodles with veggies and tofu. Always order it without MSG for those who are sensitive. It’s our go too for Asian food that’s affordable.
I'm never disappointed. General tso!
I have no idea why people say this place is good I got panang curry with duck it was mediocre at best (thought I was also weird there were mushrooms and bamboo shoots in it) I didn’t even eat half of it because I didn’t want to fill up on food I didn’t really enjoy. The eggrolls were over cooked and dry but the vermicelli bowl my girlfriend got wasn’t too bad but I definitely wouldn’t come back it was a disappointment
Great Asian food!!! Some of the best PHO
best curry in austin!!
888 never fails! Great food, service and atmosphere in a very unassuming location.
Fantastic food, staff! Clearly management is doing an exceptional job. Thanks for making our event special.
Nice people. Good food.
Traditional Asian foods. I order the same dishes. Gen Tsu Chicken, Beef and broccoli. They use higher quality parts and give you bigger portions. The restaurant floors are usually a little sticky. I wished they mopped their floors more often.
Have lunch with my wife. Portions were large and the service was great.
I've been coming to 888 for about 10 years. This evening everything was incredible as always. There was a short wait due to its popularity, but our server was attentive and polite despite the dinner rush.
Easily on my top 3 places to eat in South Austin. We tried the roast duck taco app and the jack fruit smoothie and they were both phenominal! If you're not already familiar with the fine/casual atmosphere and devine menu options you should be!
Came here after a long day of traveling right before they were about to close and they gave us amazing thai tea, spring rolls, and pho. Food comes out crazy fast and fresh. The place was busy but didn't have to wait. Highly recommend it.
I need to stop coming here because every single time I'm just disappointed. The take our server was so rude and he looked high. I got the red curry with chicken and it was SO bland and tasteless. Rice all clumpy and stuck together, and curry was mostly vegetables. If I wanted vegetable curry I would have ordered that. Completely disappointed, and this will be the last time I'll be back. What a shame because we don't have enough places like this in town.
Food is okay. Service is okay. I ordered (take out) vegetable spring rolls the last time I visited the restaurant. The lettuce had tiny green insects and cobwebs. They can do better with washing vegetables during prep. The restaurant was quite busy when I visited, so they must be doing something right, or those guests just don't mind.
The food is great...but my experience with available veg and vegan has been mixed. Sometimes, what I order one time (like a substitution for fish sauce) isn't an option the following time. I can't really tell if it's a staff training problem or what. Example - ordered a dish with lemon grass sauce sub'd for the fish sauce one time, but the following time was told that's never an option and not even possible. ..though it was the previous week.
I'm still going back, though. The food is amazing. Sizzling lemongrass dishes are awesome and the mango sticky rice is not to be missed!!
Love the food.
Everything was phenomenal. I ordered the sesame chicken and my boyfriend ordered the chicken pho. The service was very quick and efficient and the staff are friendly. I would note that the sesame chicken only came with 4 pieces of broccoli. Nonetheless, both dishes were delicious! I would recommend the iced coffee too! My boyfriend and I LOVED the coffee. Would order again.
Best Pho in austin. What a great place to go for pick and great food. Always fresh and tasty. very good service!
