Thai Restaurant Family Owned/ Reservation Room/ The Beach@ Thai Texas/ Fresh made to order dishes/ Delivery/ Southwest Arlington Thai
Beautiful interior. Love the decor and atmosphere inside. They have all these awards that they’ve earned over the years at the front of the restaurant and at the cash register.
We ordered the Texas Thai fried rice level 4 spicy and the Shrimp Pad Thai level 5 spicy. We waited about 15 minutes for our order and ordered to go.
The fried rice tasted like curry rice. It was a level 4 but kinda spicy for a 4 (coming from someone who doesn’t eat spicy all that often). It was good.
The pad Thai had jumbo shrimp with the tail taken off. There were enough shrimp to go with the noodles. The sauce was plentiful, slightly runny, you can tell that there’s a heavy-handedness in fish sauce but it’s neutralized by either lime juice or something else. I think it’s the best pad Thai in Arlington. We also got a free side of salad with peanut tasting dressing! Came with utensils as well.
Worth going. Would come back.
Thai Texas has been a go-to spot for us ever since we moved to Arlington, and it never disappoints. This hidden gem consistently delivers bold flavors and top-notch dishes that keep us coming back. We usually come for the Pad Thai and Peking Duck—both are simply exceptional. The Pad Thai has that perfect balance of sweetness and tang, while the Peking Duck is crispy, tender, and packed with flavor. It’s definitely worth the drive and the occasional wait.
For spice lovers, you’re in for a treat. Their heat levels range from 1 to 5, and if you’re feeling adventurous, level 3-5 is where things get exciting. But be warned—this place doesn’t hold back on the spice, so come prepared!
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with a hint of modern flair. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, the staff here are always friendly and attentive. I recommend taking a moment to chat with them—they’re happy to help with recommendations if you’re new to Thai cuisine.
Thai Texas is the kind of spot that feels like a small slice of home, and it’s easily one of Arlington’s culinary treasures. Highly recommend!
I've been eating at Thai Texas for years and it has never disappointed. The owner is sweet and produces authentic Thai food, much like what I had in Thailand. Their ingredients are fresh and they know how to make their dishes spicy.
Lunch items are $10.99 and include a salad or soup, a spring roll and the dish. Pictured below is Drunken Noodle.
The aesthetic is cute - including booths nestled in to Thai Huts and a model Thai river in the middle of the restaurant
Everything here is incredible. From the salad with the Thai peanut dressing, to the perfectly crisp egg roll paired with a delicious dipping sauce. Today, I had the massaman curry lunch special and it was also AMAZING! Everything I’ve ever tried at this place is awesome. They do 0-5 spicy… I usually do 1 (I’m dull), while my wife does 3-5.
Great service !! Large portions, great Food.
Love this place. Service is fast and very accommodating.
The food and service were phenomenal! This is my first time ever having thai food and I had the Pad Woon Sen .it came out hot and fresh, so delicious! Must try.
The environment is okay. Staff is friendly and professional. I just feel the quality of the fried wasn't there. It was $39 for 2 combination fried rice. No sides not drinks. Just 2 fried rice. That's too expensive for rice and even more so when it barely has egg and veggies. Hardly any flavor. It is a large portion of rice and the amount of protein was average. I won't be back.

Food and service is awesome!
Love Thai Texas! Favs are, Drunken noodle, fried rice and yellow curry! The rangoons and gyoza are also delicious! Their sauces are 🤌🏻🎉 they also will do gluten free variations of dishes which is amazing!
Always great food. Good size portions. This place is the best thai food around

Koi Soi is very flavorful, great spot.
P.S. *** Please add pickled mustered greens to Koi Soi ***
Easy access to, large parking lot, very friendly waitstaff... the pineapple curry chicken (level 3) was very tasty and not so hot you couldn't taste the flavor. Tried the crab fried rice and it was amazing as well, and the Thai tea was excellent... will eat here again when in the area.
Excelent food and affordable prices
Really good food
It was my first time to dine in with my 16 year old granddaughter. We both loved the food, and it was pretty clean. We are definitely going back.
I’ve never been here before but this seems like a good place for Thai food. I do however have a couple questions. I was wondering if I would be able to order food and then come pick it up myself. I was also wondering if this was possible as I don’t want to do delivery and I only have cash to use. Please answer back so I can know.
Love the atmosphere! Literally love their Miso soup wish they served it in a larger size. Thai fried rice level 5 is always my go to!
I came here for dinner with my daughter. The food were delicious. The servings were generous. We both had to-go boxes for tomorrow! Yummy!
Thai fried rice is delicious. Highly recommend
I really wished I had saved my money. The food was lacking. Quality control obviously wasn't there, I found 2 lettuce ends in my small salad. The atmosphere was cute. Service was OK unless you count the lack of observation. I thought we'd try it again after being voted the best Thai food...it clearly is not. I would cry if I thought that was my only option.
Take out orders not right. Brought items to my house 20 minutes after I called. Probably will not return!
This place has fast, friendly service; delicious menu items; and, a unique, fun atmosphere. Oh, and the prices aren’t high. What more could you ask for in a dining experience?!
Very tasty and easy to eat vegan here! Try the veggie basil fried rice with a glass of Thai iced tea😋
The place was very cozy with lots of decor when you step inside. The servers are quick and refill your drinks consistently. The food was great! It did take some time for them to cook it, but it was worth it. The small bowl of Tom kha kai soup was big enough as a meal! The noodles were nice and meaty. Lots of veggies throughout the plates, too. Great little place for a bite to eat. They have munch specials, too!
Thai is my favorite food and I have tried most thai restaurants in the DFW area. Thai Texas is the best. They carry jalapeno cheese rolls which most do not. The food is excellent and the owners and service are outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The food is excellent! Panamg curry is the best I've ever had.
Great little Thai place! The best places are always small, out-of-the way places and this fits that description. If you're in the neighborhood, check these guys out.
Beautiful interior. Love the decor and atmosphere inside. They have all these awards that they’ve earned over the years at the front of the restaurant and at the cash register.

Worth going. Would come back.
The food is delicious, absolutely no issue there. I really love the yellow curry, I find that a lot of thai places don't get the potatoes right in curry (too hard/mushy, doesn't taste right, etc) but these are tasty and just right. I just don't end up coming here often because of the wait times. I've tried ordering food before on days I thought wouldn't be too busy, but was told the wait time was over an hour. So I would recommend either ordering food during a time of day when not many people are eating or accounting for that wait time before you order. Other than that, the atmosphere is super cool and unique and the food is wonderful.
It gets a 3 star because the salad was wilted and the carrots were frozen. Our appetizer was overly fried and hard. The service was kind of everywhere they took my food to the wrong table and then they brought the wrong dish to my partner. He ordered pork pad thai and they gave him chicken. The panang curry was good and the pad thai was good even though it was the wrong meat.
Best Thai food I've found!
Phone orders are very difficult to complete
Food of high quality, seemed authentic, large original menu.
Food was good.
The ONLY Thai restaurant I will go to. The food is always top quality and so is the service.. Sam and her family are the best! Worth every penny, hands down
Yummy
Never get Chinese take out again. This food is very tasty. Great selection still great after years of eating there
This place is always good. It is definitely a favorite! Thai tea, chicken or beef pad Thai, fried rice, or anything on there menu is delicious
Me and my husband usually get take out, but if you decide to dine in it is such a cute place! The Chicken Pad Thai is to die for! We always get it 4-5 on the spicy scale. I would also recommend their miso soup, small portions but very yummy.
I’ve been going here for over 5 years and it’s still the place I go back to for a comforting meal. Love the food and staff!
This is one of our favorite Thai spots. The staff are friendly and the service is always great.
Really good good ! Muy rica agradable !! Very delicious you have to try it !!! 😋
Wow! Best Thai food I have had! The meat wasn't rubbery or fatty and the flavors were fantastic. I went at lunch and was served quickly. I've heard there can be a wait later in the evening but I see why! Fresh, awesome food!
Great experience!
The food was okay. Nothing special. The service was terrible. I ordered my food without mushrooms and I chose onion soup as my soup option. You would think the Waitress would have warned me that onion soup was mostly mushrooms and that I might want to choose something else, but no warning was given. The Waitress needed us to grab food out of her arms before she spilled more than she already did on the floor. Then they just left what had been spilt sitting there. No sweetener was on the table nor offered with the unsweet tea that was ordered.
The atmosphere was plastic tiki huts with the worst white political rap music videos. This place was not dine in friendly. The overall experience would have been better had it been taken out only, though overpriced and ending with stale and rock hard fortune cookies.
Always delicious 😋
Highly Recommend!
This is the second time I have enjoyed this food. The flavors are great. This time we had takeout. Pad Thai chicken. Thai ginger stir fry with beef. Miso soup. Awesome. I recommend this restaurant. 👌 The portions are nice sized too. We chose spice level 4 and it was just the right amount of heat.
Best Thai in Texas hands down no challenge!
Easy to order over the phone, reasonable prices, quick service and amazing food! The drunken noodles were amazing! Definitely gotta give TX Thai a try!
Food is always > THE BEST THAI IN TEXAS!
Everyone superb customer service ALWAYS!!!!
Love it!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰😋😋😋😋😋
My family of 5kids, Ages 7,5,3,2,1 really enjoyed every bite we ate. Literally order 7 different dishes. And we left nothing.
The food was coming right on time and HOT. Next time we in Arlington. We will be coming back. Thank you guys.
Great job Chefs.
Thai Texas: What a treasure! The service was friendly and impeccable, and the ambiance lovely with a unique central Thai elephant diorama. But it's about the food! I special-ordered crispy duck in red curry. Yes, I know it may be sacrilege, but they owned it, and it was umptious! And seriously, the amount of toothsome duck meat in this delight was ridonculous. I'm really glad I was really hungry, and I still packed out two more meals I can’t wait to enjoy. My spice level is 4 on a 0-5 scale, and they nailed it. Needed extra tissues for my tears of joy and spicy heat. If I’m forced to complain, they have strange curtains over some windows, distracting music vids instead of just expected cuisine-approp music, and they’re BYOB. Get over it! Like I said, it’s about the food. If you like Thai, you’ll be delighted to visit Thai Texas.
Best Thai food I've eaten in so so long. Thai Dumplings, Pad Thai, Texas Fried rice, and the Green Curry were all delicious. As long as the service and food stay consistent, I will be back.
That Basil Chicken was very good.
Great crab Rangoon
Great food and service. Try green curry if you into it.
Excellent all around; great food, big portions, fair price, and superior service!
I loved it. I went on a date and this was the location we chose. It was cute and food was was great.
I love the Pat Thai so tasty and good service
Need help with dressing on salad, edamame wish was warm with more juice..sauce. Everything else was great drinks, service, I are pepper steak... yum. Enough parking.
This place really wasn't good. My wife thought the same and she knows asian food. She's born and raised in the Philippines. Her family owns a restaurant in Manila.
The flavor is authentic Thai. My favorite is the Drunken Noodles!
Staff are very friendly
Had the drunken noodles was absolutely
Delicious.. had a great experience. We will be returning
Had the lunch special pineapple curry great food amazing service right off i20. Overall, great experience will be returning
Very good food. Super nuc3 staff. Highly recommend if you are in the aeea
The best Thai food. My husband and I always order for pickup and we order enough to last us a couple days because it’s that delicious. Highly recommend the Thai Texas fried rice, Penang curry, massaman curry, pad Thai, tom kha, and the chili poppers. Warning the chili poppers are really really really hot but they burn so good. Also you can ask for Thai spice (level 30) if level 10 isn’t hot enough for you.
Absolutely delicious, intimate atmosphere, and reasonable prices.
The food was really delicious. Service was great but the restaurant is a little strange with the decorations. Nothing that can't be overlooked for the food though. The volcano chicken is really good!
I had always despised the smell of Thai food. Finally my wife convinced me to try some curry. Let me tell you this place hooked me on red chicken curry. I’m sad we live so far away because no where else is even close to how amazing the food is here. I have to get my curry elsewhere due to distance but you better believe we go out of our way to stop by if we can make it out that way. Thank y’all for the best addiction I’ve ever had!!
Thai Texas used to be a top-notch Thai restaurant, but now they are nothing but a disappointment. Their service is painfully slow, starting with the phone where they put you on hold and then conveniently forget about you. It's better to hang up and call again than to wait for them to remember you. And why do they keep asking if you want it spicier than their pathetic mild (1-5 spice level)? Are they implying that their customers have a low tolerance for spice?
Their wait times are downright atrocious, with a minimum of 30 minutes regardless of the time of day, whether you dine-in or take out. And to add insult to injury, they've reduced their portion sizes while raising their prices. Are they trying to bankrupt their customers? And what's with their stingy rice servings? Are they rationing rice like it's a luxury item?
Sure, the food tastes good, but that's not enough to make up for the rest of the garbage they put their customers through. It's a complete letdown and a terrible experience overall. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Sooo good!! We finish every bite every time. The portions are perfect and it stays warm all the way home
It was a good experience
Clean, neat place.
Food is ok. But the service staff leaves a lot to be desired. Very slow, non attentive. The day we were there they had a staff of about 6 in the dining area and only maybe 4-5 tables and there were people waiting forever just to get menus, drink orders, soup/salad. Staff , which seems like a bunch of high schoolers spend most of its time just behind the counter handling to go orders. One highlight, the spice guy, ask for the spice guy.
This is my favorite Thai place. The food is always excellent and the owners are very friendly and welcoming.
This place is always a treat! We order the Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice. It is absolutely delicious!!!
This was an impromptu stop on my way home from work. I did a quick search of restaurants, and based on reviews, stop here and was not disappointed! I live in DeSoto, and my food was still really warm when I got home, which was great! I had the Pad Woon Sen, Pork Thai Dumplings, and crispy spring rolls. It was enough food for me to have dinner the next evening. The Thai Dumplings were by far my favorite! The Pad Woon was good, but my glass noodles were a bit lumped together, so I had to really stir it up. Other than that, everything was good, and if in the area again, I would stop by!
Where is the seasoning? All we tasted was bell peppers and onions and curry powder. Not worth 60.00 bux
Myself and my brother Charlie speed here every chance we get! The spicy means spicy and I recommend the chicken eggplant. The dumpling appetizer is great. Cute, kitschy interior decor and a diorama that’ll make you wanna’ call your Mama.
I've been coming here for years. The food is consistently great! If you're in a hurry, this isn't the place for you. The food is freshly cooked, which makes them a little slower, but worth the wait. They do take phone orders. Be sure you check their hours, they are closed for a couple of hours in the afternoon.
Terrible customer service. If it was possible to leave zero stars, I would. Place wasn’t closing for another hour and a half, on a Saturday night, we walked in and the server wouldn’t take us. I always tip big when deserving. Will never go here again and tell everyone I know to avoid this place.
This place is very good. However, since everything is made to order, you can wait a while. Don't be in a rush when you drop in for a meal.
Love their Pad Thai! We also had the sampler plate from appetizers and it was delicious as well.
The food here is really good
Unfortunately this place is dirty with terrible mgmt and they never can pass inspection
Great Thai food the seating areas are really cute crispy pad Thai was really good
Good food and reasonable prices.
Best food !
First time visit..
Had the Pineapple fried rice which had choice of soup or salad.
This was a very good dish and had choice of spiciness from 1-5 . I chose 1...
Orderd pad sew ee and it was missing the main ingredients...the sauce. It was disgusting. Too bad it was ordered to go as it wasn't worth to go back.
Tasty pad gra pow.
At the risk of sharing one of the best kept secrets in Arlington, this place is just outrageously good. They often get busy on the weekends and have up to an hour to two hour wait to do takeout, but the staff is always fantastic and the food is delicious. Not to mention, they’re a locally owned business and I love supporting them. It’s ALWAYS worth the wait. Try the chicken pad Thai with tofu & the chicken fried rice!
My favorite place to eat. The Vegetable Pad Thai is the best. They will make it Thai spicy for you too but be careful because it will light you up! It takes more time than other places because they cook it from scratch but it makes it taste so much better that way so it’s worth it to me. 10/10
Masanam curry is my favorite. So delicious. I come here during their lunch special!
Incredibly good Massaman curry! Some of the best Thai I've found in DFW. Highly recommend!
It was just ok.
Food wasn't anything I'd go out of my way for again.
Came for dinner on Friday at 730 pm am was told that there was a 1 hr 45 min wait for dinner service and the same wait for take out. I have been to hundreds of restaurants and have never heard of such nonsense. I think they just didn't want to serve me.
My husband and I love this place! The food is authentic, fresh, and delicious. The customer service is great and the atmosphere is really cool.
The food is fairly good. Although the soup is tasteless. The service was fair and so was the atmosphere.
Always a favorite of mine, great service, great food, great place!
Delicious meals. Crispy Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles. Fresh and hot! We will definately be back
It's the second time I've been there a year apart from one another.
Waiting for 10 minutes before someone came to take our order. Then waited another 30 minutes for our food. Then my order was wrong. Portion sizes were smaller than expected at the price asking. Food wasn't very good considering the price paid.
Overall a poor experience, I will not be returning even if the food is complementary.
We called 1.5 hours before their advertised closing time just to make sure they were really open. They said yes, they were open until 930PM.
We got there at 840PM. However, we were told that it was too late, and no new orders would be taken in the kitchen.
Interesting.
Food is good. One of the ladies is rude though lol.
Great food, but terrible service when it comes to delivery.
I tried it for the first time along with a friend who also enjoys Thai food. I got the Chicken in Yellow Curry Sauce which is my baseline measure for a new location. The creamy, tasty curry was outstanding actually. I can easily recall it after a couple weeks; it was that good.
My friend got his baseline Masala. Both of us were pleased and ready to add Thai Texas to our list of recommended Thai restaurants. The service was good, food good, ambience good, price good, all good. We look forward to more visits. I can recommend and hope you have a similarly satisfying experience.
The stir fry noodle, fried rice, and curry dishes are always good. My favorite is the pad kee mao (drunken noodles) that is well done (so the veggies are a little more cooked). I rate this as the #1 drunken noodle dish I have had. The thai basil is very fragrant and the sauce is not too salty, but is packed with flavor.
Always call ahead or have it delivered, because wait times can be 1 hour long.
Food here is 100% fantastic. Been going here since it opened. Service is a bit slow. They make everything to order. Food is very fresh.
This place is GREAT.
We did not like the food! The Pad See Ew did not have much flavor, neither did the BBQ fried rice meal. The wonton soup was so nasty I had to spit it out as soon as I tried it. The pot stickers were its one redeeming item. Didn't like 90% of the food but still have to pay the $83 bill. So expensive for not very good food! Also, when we called to place the take out order we were on hold for 15 minutes! We almost gave up!
I would love to eat here, the food is great! But they never seem to answer the phone for takeout orders…
I'm addicted to the Pad Thai!!! I get it 4 pepper spicy and it's perfect. If you need to clear your sinuses, then go for 5 pepper spicy! The drunken noodles and yellow chicken curry are also good. Call in your order ahead of time because it can be a bit of a wait if not. Dine in is usually not as busy as pick up.
Best asian food around.
4/5 for the food. 2/5 for the service. I called 2 hours before they close wanting to place an order for pickup and they said they were no longer taking orders. Food was good though.
Amazing food and service. They called us back after their phone was busy when trying to order pick up. We had a pretty complicated order and they didn't miss a detail. Food was fresh, tasty and plentiful.
This place is lovely! The atmosphere is cute and quirky. The food is delicious. Service tends to be hit or miss but no big deal. The other stuff makes up for that.
Basil fried rice was pretty good
Great place to eat
Good enough to want to try it out some more!!
Update 5/31/22: Everything is as tasty as ever but prices have gone up like everywhere else. Lunch specials now start at $9.99 instead of $7.99 as they did last year.
This is a great little neighborhood Thai restaurant that's been around for several years. Excellent Shrimp Pad Thai and Yellow Curry Chicken. Be prepared to give them a relative spice level that you want your food. They ask if you want it spicy or mild on the scale from 1 to 5. Heat level 3 is a nice moderate spice, heat level four is pretty doggone spicy, heat level 5 will melt your face!
Moderately priced with lunch specials for $7.99.
One of our favorite places
Great food, good quality at a reasonable price. Try the Red Curry with shrimp. YUM!
Excellent food and service!
Wonderful food, great staff and enjoyable atmosphere! Will definitely be trying again!
Reducing it 2 stars due to extensive wait times since our first visit listed below. Last two attempts to eat have both been 50 min + wait times to be served at the restaurant or for pick up to go. Had to go else where.
Very good freshly cooked Thai food in South Arlington right off of I-20 and Green Oaks. We ate at the restaurant but the delivery service was very busy. I could hear the kitchen pots clanking away, good sign the food was being cooked fresh! After a small wait our food arrived cooked fresh and piping hot, worth the wait! My son and I liked our dishes very much. He had the BBQ Pork Fried Rice and I had the Basil Fried Rice and Spicy Basil with chicken lvl 5 spice. Very tasty!
Thai Texs is a delightful, quiet restaurant offering many customizable dishes for you to enjoy. Multiple meats, including tofu for all the veggies out there are included in most dishes and a full array of Thai cuisine is available. Well worth your eating out dollar.
Good food. I eat here often. For you spice heads, don't be fooled by their heat level when they ask you how spicy on a scale of 1 to 5. This is Thai food, scale actually goes to 15, and I can vouch that an 8 is pretty damn hot.
My first time coming here I was very impressed on the food..I've been back mulitple times since then and it seems as though the food has gone down hill. Two times I've gotten my food the rice has been hard, vegetables under cooked and the chicken over cooked and very dry. I have ordered a dinner portion on two different occasions with added shrimp only for them to give me 3 shrimp and charge me extra for it! If I'm going to be charged extra for shrimp I need to have more than 3 pieces of shrimp on my plate!!! This place has become more miss than hit since my first time coming here. Wish they would go back to how they were when I first tried them out.
I love the Basil duck always crispy and fresh. It's also nice that they have a kids menu. My kids love eating inside
Terrible service i’ve ever met. I was waiting almost an hour for my order and it was only one thing. And nothing they can say except sorry. I definitely not come back to this place. Hope they saw my review and fix this problem. And the food it not good enough to waste your time for waiting i mean its taste good but for the time you need to wait it made me need to think about it seriously to go and eat there again.
Great value and flavors. Go!
Food is decent here. However if you are never able to get the food it doesn’t matter. Anytime you call them 30-40 minutes before they close they always refuse to take your order. Last time I was able to have them help me with an order when I came over and hour before they close. They made me wait 50 minutes for take out while they sat three parties in the restaurant for dining in. They received and ate their food before I received my food.
The food made me sick
I love this place , the server a great, the food, well what i have tried is wonderful.. I will continue to come back!!
Authentic Thai food 😋
Overall it was a good experience. They redecorated. They used to have a water/boat scene in the middle of the restaurant and switched it out with elephants, still cool but I prefer the boat seen. The blue that was used for the water was so pretty. The staff was so friendly. I started with a salad with the yummy dressing, then the fried wontons (best ever in my opinion), I ordered some tom kha (it was so good, stick a straw in it and slurp it down good), and finished up with the Thai basil. It was okay. The middle was warm and the outside of the food was cold. Bit disappointed there. But overall a good experience.
