I don’t go to this place a lot but when I do everything is 5 stars. I went there tonight and got food. I asked for Pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp. I got charged and extra $3 which I knew and that was fine but there was more chicken than shrimp. Only 3 pieces of shrimp in the plate. Did I get charged $1 a shrimp or what’s going on. Normally I’ve had more than just 3 single pieces of shrimp. But to be charged $3 extra and not get my moneys worth for what I wanted is ridiculous.

Karen Thai and Sushi is a small place on the corner of Sam Ridley and Weakly Road.
I popped in here for a late lunch after the other sushi place would not serve me. The hours said they opened at 12 moon so when I got there they said the dining room didn’t open until three. That information was not on the door and it was not on any of their online pages that I saw. I was pretty disappointed.
So I looked around to find another place nearby to get sushi. That’s what I really wanted and that’s what I was going to have. What is the listings I found with Karen Thai and Sushi. It was pretty close by and had very good reviews so I decided to give it a try.

I am so happy I gave it a try! Everything i ordered was very good and the people that work here are smiling and happy and eager to please. I did order too much food though and now I got a fat stomach. Well maybe I have a fat stomach most of the time but it’s a little bit fatter now.
I ordered a spicy tuna roll and while it was very good it wasn’t exactly what I expected. I can’t put my finger on what was the difference other than it was spicier than I expected but it was good. I’m not complaining; it was very good and I ate every bite
I ordered a bowl of miso soup. I should’ve ordered a cup because that bowl was so big that I could not finish it all and I love miso soup.
I also ordered an appetizer order of tempura shrimp. I think that’s what I enjoyed the most. The shrimp was perfectly fried, big and crunchy. The sauce it came with was perfect and I absolutely enjoyed every bite of it.
If you’ve got a taste for sushi and you’re in the Smyrna area I highly recommend dropping into Karen Thai and Sushi and giving it a try. I bet you won’t be disappointed.

Small, family owned restaurant in the heart of Smyrna. Prices & quality of sushi can’t be beaten. We love the crunchy crab & combination fried rice. If you are looking for good authentic, high quality sushi this is it. Also, we didn’t order the boat, but if you get enough sushi they automatically bring it out on one. 😁

This place was okay but I really expected it to be five stars with all the reviews I saw. The steamed dumplings were tasteless. The lo mein stir fried had good flavor but the noodles were very mushy it was annoying to enjoy it with that texture. My friends and I ordered four different types of sushi and we all agreed that they didn't have no flavor. You could compare the sushi to the one from a Chinese restaurant, just bland. It was also disappointing they didn't have the banana fried ice cream I was looking forward to that. The last thing that irritated me was I didn't get a refill on my water the whole time until we were about to leave. Probably will give another try in the future.

This place is a hidden gem! It's family owned, and everyone who works there is so personable and professional. They're a welcoming environment for date nights or family outings (they're so friendly with my son!). Everything I've ordered there has been absolutely delicious with beautiful plating that makes me feel like I'm on a luxurious vacation, but it's so reasonably priced! This is my absolute favorite restaurant, and I recommend it to everyone who likes a memorable culinary experience.

Hate that there is no sushi, but the pho is delicious. The fried calamari is great, the breading is seasoned well. The spring rolls never disappoint. Countless boba flavors and I miss the salmon skin salad.

We ordered 2 pineapple curries. One with chicken and one with a meat combo. The red curry is too sweet and we both only found 2 or 3 pieces of meat.

Amazing food, they actually delivered spicy the way I like it. Their green papaya salad was perfect. My wife and son were very pleased with their dishes also. The boba was served as a slushy, which I hadn't had before, totally recommend it. If you haven't been here before, it deserves a visit.

We went in and ordered takeout. The place was very neat and clean. The young man who took our order was very thorough and polite. We ordered four dishes, all of which were very tasty and fresh. Food was spiced to each individual's taste and while we're sitting and waiting, they brought over ice water for us on a rather hot afternoon. A very nice touch. We will definitely be going back.

Tried this place out for the first time it was actually pretty good I ordered the sushi outlaw which was prepared really good and I got the curry sauce with chicken and it was good. This is a small place so there wasn't much traffic going on and the food was prepared in a reasonable time. This place has good reviews and I would come back give it a shot you might really like it.

I come here at least three times a week to get lunch while I deliver my Amazon packages.

This business changed hands, and it's my first time back since. The sushi and the curry were good, but the chicken in the curry had been cooked while frozen and was tough and strongly flavored as a result. The bubble tea was not a normal consistency - it was watery. They have good service and the atmosphere is good but we prefer not to return.

Happy Thanksgiving 🦃...we already celebrated Thanksgiving together and with our families and wanted something different. Karen's definitely DID NOT disappoint. Everything was so incredibly fresh and the sushi was the best I have ever had...and I have eaten sushi from a lot of places in all different states. We ordered door dash and the dasher left half of our order there so we called and were able to swing by and pick it up no problem. My husband and I have decided this is now our go to place. They are extremely nice and the food is honestly AMAZING!! Try it, I promise you will not regret it.

The Curry was in a container half the size it used to be for $12. That is not right. This has been my favorite place, and I order 1 time per week. Now I need to find another choice.

Since being taken over by new management, the food has decreased in quality by quite a bit as well as service and portion sizes. I went from eating there at least once a week to probably never eating there again.

We came here on a Thursday at 5 pm. There were hardly any folks here. This place did not live up to the hype (as seen on the Google reviews).

The food tasted OK. There were hardly any veggies in our curry. Rice was barely warm, while red curry was hot in temperature. We did not ask for the rice to be reheated since we were starving.

The tables do not have salt, hot sauce, or anything. You will have to ask for each & everything you need - condiments, napkins, cutlery, water, etc. to be brought to you. We did not get a refill on our water until we asked for it just before leaving.

Had a much better experience at THAI POOKHET. Because price was cheaper, food was tastier, quantity was more, and service was way better.

Popped in today for a quick takeout lunch. I had ordered ahead and the food was ready when they said it would be. Place was clean, lady at the counter was super friendly. Spring rolls were nice and hot, crunchy and flavorful. The lo mein noodles were overcooked, the veggies were perfectly cooked, not overdone. 9/10 will return when I'm in the area to try some other dishes.

We love this place. We try something new every time and have not been disappointed. Tonight we had the drunken noodles, the Smyrna Airport roll, and a spicy Tuna roll. Everyone that works there is friendly and polite. Excited to have a place like this in Smyrna.

My wife and I lunch there yesterday. Food was good but the service was terrible. Two young inexperienced boys waited on us. Finally had to interrupt their lunch to get our check, and then was told to pay at the counter. Unprofessional.

This, young man named kim is one of the beat waitress ive ever had. I honestly would come here again, always delivering food fast and is patient with customers and is very kind. This young boy deserves a raise in my opinion

There is this one kid that works as a waitress and server. He constantly checks if the floor is clean. When I asked the kid, he shrugged it and said that he is only doing it for his family and did not want his family to be stressed. I told him that he was doing a wonderful job, he likes working there because of the nice atmosphere of his colleagues .

Okay so you know how in sci-fi books and movies and stuff they have those little food machines that can somehow scientifically recreate the exact perfect taste for your specific taste buds? This place is like that.

The wonton soup looks nothing like any wonton soup I've ever seen from any other restaurant in town but it is a delicious. So much so that that alone would keep me going back there all the time.

I also had the pineapple curry and the pad see ew (don't judge me, your girl likes some variety). Both phenomenal. Crab Rangoon? Banging. Strawberry bubble tea? Delightful.

Only bad part is, now I'm gonna have to drive all the way out to Smyrna to get my hands on it.

This is an adorable little Thai and sushi restaurant I happened to stumble upon. It was very clean even in the bathrooms. The staff was very polite, helpful, attentive, and well dressed. The little sushi bar was adorable and everything looked and smelled so fresh. I wasn’t up for anything saucy tonight so they made me a steamed shrimp and veggie dish and my partner got pad Thai and a Nashville roll. Everything was great! Highly recommend this little spot if you’re in the mood for Thai or sushi.

My wife and I eat here all the time. Take out and dine in. Lunch or dinner we always like what we get and have been big fans since they opened. The few small issue I could point out are overcome by the food and the owners. I think as long as one of them is on site things will continue to run great. Nice gem in Smyrna.

Never receive online orders. Always get there and am told oh we didn't get it will make it now. Has happened 3 times this last time I walked in and was told they were on break at this time, despite already removing the money from my account, but can make it now after i had already waited the 20 minutes it was to take for my order to be completed. Perhaps if you're closed make it so an order can't be placed. The food is great but I am done because of the continued bad service.

Wonderful Cocunut soup, Sweet and Sour Chicken (nothing like the Chinese wersion) was excellent. I was 30 miles from home and pulled in there for lunch with no knowledge of the resturant. I will most definitely make the trip again to eat there. Staff was very attentive and service was right on!

We can't wait to go back and sit down to eat. We had sushi take out. The sushi was delish and friendly smiling faces with the staff makes we want to come back. I will add to this review with details on dishes as we indulge.

I’m a regular here, i come here usually at least once a week. The food is always so good, the staff is so friendly and i love building a relationship with them. I have never had a bad experience there, and I’ve been frequenting for a year. It’s all so good.

I started with crab Rangoon - the crab/cream cheese mixture was delicious as well as dipping sauce - outer bits overcooked for my taste. I got a nice ginger tea and vegetable drunken noodles which I ordered at a "2" spice level -yes, that was perfect for me.

I couldn't wait to take a picture of my food and send it to my wife to make her jealous and it worked. The guy next to me had sushi and it looked fresh and delicious. 5stars and will be back. It is very unassuming from the outside, but the inside is nice.

Boba drinks was great. Sushi was fresh. Boat for 1 was so good. Mix of a roll, nigiri, an sashimi. The crab cream cheese roll, jumping crab roll and lobster roll where great. Thida tia had no sushi and Tokyo had a 1.5 hr wait. So for once a Karen saved our cravings before we gave up and headed back to Lebanon. Highly recommend.

Nope! May be the worst I’ve had. Forgot salad, only a half box noodles but that was ok, we tossed most. Paid and extra 7 dollars for delivery, plus 15 percent tip for the driver and they sent it DoorDash so an extra 15 bucks for nothing… I have a DoorDash account so it would have been free if they register.

First and foremost, the food is amazing. The pad kaprao, eggplant stir fry, coconut soup, and vegetable gyoza are always perfect. Also, Im not a seafood enthusiast, but the sushi here has converted me. It is amazing.
I have taken every friend and family member who comes to town to this restaurant and they never disappoint.
I love Thai restaurants, but Karen's tops my list for sure.

Tried to each lunch here and they never came to serve me. Sat for five minutes while watching all the servers go and talk to other tables for extensive amounts of time and serve them. Won’t be back don’t recommend this place. Go to pad Thai on Sam Ridley instead.
