The Bangkok Thai Cuisine has been a cornerstone for Thai food in the Murfreesboro community for over 26 years! We are a family owned and operated establishment. We pride ourselves in providing our customers with quality Thai food made with the freshest ingredients.
We used to eat here on a regular basis but today we ordered to go because we have children that prevented us from eating in tonight. We will likely never eat here again and will not recommend this place to any of our friends and family in the future. First of all, we ordered two large Tom Kha’s with shrimp to go and an order of shrimp spring rolls. They require you to order online and requires you to tip. Not only that, it tacks on a service charge at the end and you aren’t aware of the fee until you receive your receipt. Nonetheless, the total for these 3 items was $64. Let that sink in… $64 for two bowls of soup and an order of shrimp spring rolls. We could have gone to a nice sit down restaurant and spent this amount. To top it off, the shrimp were severely overcooked. As I mentioned in the beginning, will likely never return. Very disappointed.
There’s many reasons this restaurant has been a great success and favorite in the ‘boro for decades… incredibly clean, tasteful decor, polite and attentive staff, and GREAT food. Everything we had was delicious. Lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options for those who need them. Support local small business!
I recently had lunch at this restaurant where I was greeted promptly by the owner and seated without delay. The service was efficient, and the food was authentic. However, my Pad Woon Sen arrived with an error – I had requested mushrooms instead of celery, but unfortunately, this substitution was overlooked. Additionally, my order for coconut juice was forgotten by the server. Despite these hiccups, the owner, who also served as the chef, personally apologized and offered to correct the mistake with the mushrooms. Regrettably, due to time constraints, I declined. Also note that there is a credit card fee imposed.
The restaurant itself was very nice and clean. Waitresses were young but very nice. I thought the food was rather bland but it was not bad, if that makes sense. I don’t want to rate this place bad but I probably wouldn’t come back here as I just did not find the food to be bursting with flavor.
We found this fun restaurant today! Turns out it’s been in Murfreesboro for 25 years in couple locations! How have we not tried it before?!
Service was great! Very courteous & attentive! Atmosphere was lovely! So much pretty wood work all over! This is a family owned & run business! So glad they have survived the pandemic!!
The menu was huge! They have lunch specials during the week. Tea was delicious! Spring egg roll very good. We tried the cashew chicken & sweet & sour chicken. Each came with rice.
Be sure to visit soon!
Food was decent, but they put tofu in the the chicken pad Thai, all of the chicken was ridiculously dry, and they put the yellow curry carry out in a box instead of a soup cup so all of the soup/sauce spilled out before I got home. Also the veggies in the curry were way too big, like almost the size of my palm. Overpriced for what they give you.
I have loved this restaurant for the last 25+ years. Back when they were a little Thai diner on the square in Murfreesboro. In fact, they were my introduction to Thai food and I am forever grateful!!!
Super clean & the food is always so flavorful. We live 90minutes away but the trip is always worth it.
This is my absolute favorite Thai restaurant.

Great service and food!
I've been coming here for 20 yrs and the last 2 times have been terrible. I don't know what happened to this place, but I won't be back.
The food that was served didn’t hit the Thai food taste. In a nutshell food wasn’t great.

Bangkok Thai Cuisine is a lovely restaurant with a beautiful Thai atmosphere, amazing, authentic Thai dishes, prepared and served by a very kind and welcoming family. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience!
Lovely place with good food and attentive service. The Chow Mein was pretty tasty. My friend has a rice allergy. They were able to substitute egg noodles for her.
I love this place! The food is delicious. The owners and staff are giving the very best service. The atmosphere is beautiful. I bring large club groups here. They have a group room that is quiet so you can hear each other talk.
Despite growing competition in town, the Bangkok continues to offer some of the best tasting Thai food around. The food is absolutely delicious and portions are great. Definitely would be worthy of 5 stars if vegan options were a little easier to find and order. A few vegan dishes are available, but they are not clearly marked on the menu and it’s not always clear if the servers are fully confident whether a given dish is truly vegan or not. Still, they always seem happy to help, and the food never disappoints! Just wish it was a little easier with more options for vegans.
Regardless, the service staff is so kind. They are not known for being particularly fast, but their genuinely friendly attitude more than makes up for it.
The atmosphere is always calm and very clean, even during the busiest times. Parking is free and convenient, although the lot can fill up quickly during peak business hours.
Definitely worth a visit for some great Thai food made and served by wonderful people!
Take care of yourself…and be kind always. ☮️
My food is delicious with every visit.
This is the tastiest Thai restaurant in the City. They offer Brown rice for health conscious eaters. Their Seafood dishes are truly mouthwatering! Everything is for Sale inside the Restaurant. Just the most magnificent Art pieces of Oriental Flair. You will love the service too :)
Delicious I hope you like it spicy

Bangkok Cafe is an absolute GEM that Murfreesboro is lucky to have! The food is fresh, high-quality, and delicious. It's family owned and operated by delight people. The art and atmosphere make for a great date night or nice dinner, and you're also perfectly at home swinging through for a quick lunch and a beer. There's a large banquet room you can reserve, and lovely tables for parties of all sizes. If you're looking for authentic Thai Cuisine of the highest caliber, you have to check out the Bangkok Cafe. You'll be a regular after the first visit.
I door dashed Tom Kah soup vegetables only!! Not only was this the worse Tom Kah I’ve ever eaten but it had chicken in it. The driest pad Thai I ever had!! I hope that maybe it’s because it was delivered, I won’t be back
We dining at Bangkok Thai Cuisine since its opening in 1995 or ‘96. Always freshly prepared fresh ingredients deliciously seasoned. The restaurant of our choice while in town 95% of the time. It is like going. to home
Hands down the best Thai restaurant in Murfreesboro. I’m a boro native and have tried multiple Thai restaurants around town. Bangkok is still my favorite Thai place after frequenting for over 20 years. The atmosphere, the staff and the food are outstanding.
I recently had lunch at this restaurant where I was greeted promptly by the owner and seated without delay. The service was efficient, and the food was authentic. Very nice people and excellent service.
Joy was a joy amazing service, great food
Food is amazing!! Service is great!! Place is very clean and well decorated!! Definitely coming back...had the Eggplant Pork for the first time!! I totally recommend it...
Iykyk
FANTASTIC on our visit
A large majority of the menu is quite tasty but unfortunately the chicken leaves a lot to be desired especially when it comes to the chicken cutlets and sweet and sour chicken. The fillet is so thin that when the battery expands when frying leaves huge pockets of are and a somewhat slimy texture to the chicken itself which isn't a very large portion to begin with. That being said the chicken is much better used in their soups that they have but not as a main dish on their own. The other authentic dishes that they have are quite delicious such as the Tom kha and Pad se ew we're very delicious!
Delicious yellow curry....
I ordered take out, the food was bland, and the packaging that it came in was atrocious. The bottom of the bag was filled with soy sauce.
It's always pleasant. Fabulous food
This is my favorite restaurant to go to! The owners and staff are always so incredibly kind, the food is delicious, and the restaurant itself has an amazing vibe that I love walking into! If you have not tried the Thai Bread 10/10 strongly suggest that you do!
Excellent affordable cuisine.
Family owned.
Ambiance is warm & inviting.
The food was really good, and the staff were very helpful and just kind overall, I am definitely going back!
This Thai food is amazing. I’ve had tons of Thai food and the level of freshness, spice, and flavor here was the real deal.
Also, the family that runs the restaurant are a great vibe. If you’re thinking about going, this is your sign that you definitely should.
Delicious! Best egg rolls I've had! Everyone in my family really enjoyed there food. Met the owner who was friendly and fun. This will be our regular stop when we are in Murfreesboro!
This was the worst pad Thai I’ve ever had. It was incredibly bland and didn’t have that delicately sweet flavor that is Pad Thai. The chicken tasted as though it were from a can. It had 0 flavor whatsoever. Thai Spice is by far the best Thai in Murfreesboro. I’ve been to many Thai restaurants in town and this one is way down on the list. Lemongrass is another phenomenal Thai restaurant in town. Bangkok Thai cuisine is definitely NOT the place to go if you’re a Pad Thai loving being. Please save your money.
By far our favorite Thai place in Murfreesboro!
Pad Thai all day. Family ran operation. Anytime I’m in town for business I eat here. They take tremendous pride in their work and service. Food is excellent.
Been going here since they opened (different location) 26 years ago. Has a fantastic ambiance. Great service and love the Thai Iced Tea. Their vietnamese spring rolls are the best in middle TN, bar none. Don't miss the soups, they are fantastic! Tom yum, & tom kha. 😋
Nice one
Lunch is amazing here! They are popular, so be ready to wait a bit, but isn't that normal?
Love this place! Family run, been in business over 25 years, food is top notch.
Clean restaurant, but the food is not typical Thai. Waitress had trouble understanding the request for Thai hot. Almost all the dishes were incredibly sweet in taste. We ordered 8 meals and one, the Panang Curry came out good. The staff were nice but definitely not accommodating. One dish came out like a soggy, sloppy, gooey pasta. We pointed it out and she said we had to "mix" it when it came out. Gross and not a way to treat a party that is ordering 7 other dishes. Been around the world and this is not Thai food.
Typical Thai cuisine but courteous and friendly service
The food was delicious and the people were very kind.
Polite servers, friendly, nice and very clean restaurant. Food are delicious and good. I would highly recommend. The BEST Thai restaurant in Murfreesboro.🤩🤩😀😀🥰🥰. My favorite go to place for authentic Thai. Love crispy Fish and crispy squid.
Wayyyyyy overrated. $70 for 3 people. Expensive with small portions. Slow service. Had to get up and get my own refill along with boxes and bill.
We've been coming to this restaurant in 3 locations since the '90s. Great food, beautiful decor, and excellent service.
If you're looking for authentic Thai, this is the spot. The food is amazing - I tried the spicy squid at the recommendation of my server and it was awesome. Family run establishment with impeccable service.
My favorite Thai place. The food is Always delicious and the staff is always so courteous.
Had lunch place was packed always a good sign had to stuff dumplings and veggie rolls was really good 😊
Best Thai restaurant in Murfreesboro, waiting staff is excellent and chefs will cook the food anyway you prefer.
Such good people, fantastic variety. Multiple pages of a fold-out menu. I don't drink, well not often but they look like a little wine to the rear of their place. Confirm that. Oh, and a reasonable selection on the lunch menu.
And clean... I'm pretty particular about kitchens and dining rooms. My car, truck - don't judge me y'all.
And here's something that's important to me - parking, getting in and out. It's in a convenient location. For me though, confession time, it's on Robert Rose which I hardly ever ride on unless I'm trying to bypass Old Fort traffic so I just haven't stopped in. But it's super easy to find. You can't miss Stones River Mall and Home Depot is right there, so if slide by the left hand side of Home Depot, turn left and just a little passed Ol South on the right, it's on the left. If you Google map it, they will take you right to it.
Try them for date night. Not too 💲💵 either and doesn't have the strip-mall eatery vibe. It's a nice restaurant.
(p.s. I have missed out for too long. Usually when I see them, I'm on a mission, a run into town to hit Lowes or HD and I'm in "project clothes" not dressed for going to a nice place. It's not super fancy dress up, but not fast food sticky table place.)
Our time and meal there was outstanding. Wonderful staff and delicious cuisine. Will certainly go again.
Excellent, serene, soft atmosphere. I went there for a quick lunch by myself and the waiter pulled out my chair for me to sit down on. You don’t get this kind of service at American restaurants. The staff was very attentive and the food definitely was remarkable. I’ll recommend and am coming back.
Best Thai food I have ever eaten. Great family business
Great food at a decent price. Service was good and friendly. Family like atmosphere.
An absolute must. This place has very friendly servers and they cook delicious!
I enjoyed my meal quite a bit. I thought the food portion according to price was good. We had a waitress who told us she was new in our casual conversation. She did great. If she didn't know something, she found the answer. The staff was excellent. Egg rolls, great! Soup was great! My beef and basil was great!
My only complaint was that my friend asked her beef to be almost burned. I don't agree with it personally but they agreed to do that for her. They cooked it medium instead. Had to send it back. Other than that, a very enjoyable experience.
A really lovely restaurant 😍 with great food!
Great customer service. Pad Thai bland/not flavorful. Strong fishy taste.
Where it all started for me.
Love this establishment. Excellent food
Food was good, atmosphere was nice
Great food, family owned. Great service
Okay food I guess, great location and ambience.
I've loved BTC for a long time. Sometimes when a restaurant is open for a very long time the quality of food goes down, but that is far from the case here. So delicious.
My husband and I have been coming here for about 7-8 years. This is our all-time favorite restaurant. The atmosphere is incredible. The owners and staff are really nice and personable, and the food is delicious. Their vegetables always seem fresh, and it isn't as oily and greasy as some of the other Thai restaurants we have been to. We come about 1-2 times a month. It's the restaurant we always want to go to when we go out.
Best Thai restaurant in Tennessee. Authentic Northern Thai.
Amazing food. We got tofu spring rolls and basil stir fry. Both were delicious!Friendly staff. Incredibly clean! Nice and quiet.
**Side note to my fellow vegetarians and vegans... they advertise a vegetarian pho, but it actually has beef broth. They are very nice, and will answer any questions about their menu.
I come here every time I’m back in town!
Delicious Thai!! Fast and friendly service.
I went for the first time this week. The best thing about it was that the staff were super friendly, which unfortunately is too uncommon in the world these days. The food was decent, but there are 3 places in murfreesboro and smyrna where I've had better Pad Thai. It was pretty plain here; most places add various garnish to dress it up, like bean sprouts (and im not a soi boi who normally eats sprouts either). They also had chunks of what appeared to be tofu in beef pad thai.
The girl at the front with short curly hair, has no Customer service, closing is at 9pm, not 830-845, if y’all don’t want to serve anybody at those times , put a sign up that reads closing at 830pm. Don’t put a customer off cause you don’t want to work. Smh!
Dan
Good food and atmosphere! We will be back.
Everyone that waited on us was amazing and sweet. Super helpful with the vegetarian options as well. I loved the food too! I will absolutely be coming back!
Fantastic people, fantastic food.
Awesome atmosphere. Great Family for homey feeling.
Fast friendly service and the food was good I will go back if I have the opportunity
Great foood in the Boro and great service . Will be back
I had high hopes for this restaurant due to its name. I’m quite disappointed because the flavors were bland. It doesn’t taste authentic to me.
Top service super great food more than ample portions. Always a joy to visir
Just ate at the Bangkok Thai Cuisine for the first time, and it was phenomenal. Not only was the service great, but the food was so fresh tasting. I ordered the Pho beef and it tasted fresh and had so many amazing flavors. My husband had the panang curry and said the flavor had so many levels of taste. We are excited to bring our family back to try this authentic food.
The food was good and the service was quick.
I haven't had Thai food in years. We happened upon this establishment by chance and I couldn't be happier that we did. The food was excellent. My wife, granddaughter and I all loved what we ordered which seems to be rare these days. The service was professional, but kind and accommodating. We left in a better mood than when we walked in and we were already having a great day! We aren't from the area, but we will definitely make a return visit in the near future. Very highly recommended!
Best Thai in Murfreesboro but also best owners and crew!
My husband and I stopped here for lunch, and as ALWAYS, we had a delicious meal with great service. We try to get different entrees, so that we can experience the difference flavors. After more than 15 years going to Bangkok Thai, we have never been disappointed!
Love Thai food, this has been a hidden gem for years. One of my favorite places to go and its a great date night option for a change.
It was OK, nothing special.
Very good, local place. Food was great and the place is very cute.
I love this place! Great atmosphere and customer service
Great food and friendly service!
Finally greetings when walking into this nice open style restaurant with the bar in the middle rear... Great service from the water to getting the bill, they worked together and made sure my family had everything we needed... Now onto the best part, appetizer spring rolls with spicy peanut sauce was a great start!!! Pho was loaded with seafood and what a great starter for broth, you really don't need to add anything but when they bring out the chili oil and other items it's tough to not customize this great soup.... Spicy Thai basil with shrimp and veggies was great also
Great food.
Very good food. Pleasant service. Reasonable prices. Nice portions
THIS IS THE BEST PLACE IN MURFREESBORO FOR THAI FOOD.THE SERVICE IS GREAT AND THE OWNER CAME OUT TO GREEET EVERYONE AND MAKE SURE THEIR FOOD WAS EXACTLY AS THEY ORDERED. HANDS DOWN THE BEST REASTURANT IN TOWN
Everytime I move to a different city, one of the first things I search out is a new, go-to Thai restaurant. This place checked all the right boxes.
First, they have menu items beyond what you see at a lower tier Thai eatery where the owners are just churning out unexceptional, low-effort versions of what they consider, "American friendly" dishes. (Basically, dumbed down ingredient and spice wise to avoid spooking the large number of unadventurous local eaters, or to appeal to denser customers who don't have the slightest clue what Thai food is and think that they're at a Chinese restaurant... 😅) They have classics like the many different varieties of Thai curry, tom yum and tom kha gai soups and different styles of Pad Thai. I have tried many of these selections, and they each have a delectable taste unique to this restaurant. As for the more non run-of-the-mill selections, I found the phad prik pow (smoked chili sauce) with prawns and the hilariously named, "drunk beef" to be absolutely delicious and definitely addictive!
Second, they put emphasis on spice levels and will let you customize your dishes to your preferred level of heat. For me, the more Thai chili the better! I always go, "Native Thai." 🌶️🔥🔥🔥🌶️
The third and final box is the overall atmosphere of the place. Bangkok Thai is spacious and decorated with hand made wooden peices of art made in Thailand which you can purchase if you're interested. The owners and wait staff are open and friendly and happy to answer any questions you may have. They'll even make some pretty excellent recommendations! The people here really know how to make you feel welcome and appreciated.
I've found my new Thai place here in Murfreesboro. I don't know how long I will be living here, but it's great having such a wonderful establishment available to get my weekly fix of superb and mouthwateringly-spicy Thai cuisine! Cheers! 🍻
Absolutely fantastic meal. Best shumai (shrimp dumplings) that I’ve had in the country.
Spicy level 3 was hot but not too hot and serving size was perfect! We will be back A++
Wonderful food and wonderful service.
Great food and atmosphere!
Loved this place. A friend and I had lunch there per his recommendation. Fabulous dishes and genuine service. The atmosphere was warm, clean, and pleasant.
Excellent service and delicious food.
Always excellent. Period. My go-to favorite dish to recommend is the Tom Kah soup. I love how they prepare it; It’s the best I’ve had anywhere in the U.S. The curry dishes and Pad See Ew are also excellent choices. Try a Thai Tea as it’s one of my favorites as well. Nice, friendly service 100% of the time.
Delicious food, courteous staff. The restaurant is very well decorated, making the eater feel like they're in a luxurious, exotic place. Waiter did a great job suggesting their best dishes with "off menu" flair. Will definitely be returning.
I've never got a bad meal from here. If you like it spicy this is your place. The staff are great it's just a good place to eat.
No sushi. No Wasabi. Entries 2.5 stars. Appetizers 4 stars. Sake 4 stars. Flavor of Entries unremarkable. Ambience 4.5 stars. Service 4.5 stars. Cleanliness 5 stars.
We dined here for lunch to celebrate my daughter passing her road test. We've eaten here before and she loved their Thai coffee. Since she was the driver she chose to celebrate at The Bangkok Thai Cuisine.
We were a party of four and our server was very pleasant while we were waitng for the rest of our party to arrive.
We ordered the Gyoza and the Thai coffee to start. Then when our party was complete we ordered from the lunch menu. My daughter had the Chicken Chow Mein, my son had the Beef Chow Mein, my husband had the Yellow Curry and I had Phad See Ew. The food must have been delicious because it got quiet when our food arrived.
Overall, the time to be seated and served was quick, love the decor, and the music helped with a very enjoyable meal experience.
We celebrated Valentine's Day here! Everything was so delicious and fresh. We enjoyed the food very much.I ordered Pad See Ew and loved it! Very comfortable atmosphere and a pleasant dining experience. You need to experience this!
Last night, a friend and I dined at what I would consider a Murfreesboro staple: The Bangkok Thai Cuisine.
Everything was delicious and reasonably portioned and priced. The atmosphere was wonderful: warm and inviting. The music did get turned up a little toward the end of our evening, but I think they were about to close. We did sit and talk for a long time!
We started with 3 appetizers (we're the build your own buffet people, okay?): Spring rolls, coconut shrimp, and Thai toast. The spring rolls were bright and fresh, the coconut shrimp were crispy and had this interesting warm and spiced flavor on the back end, and the Thai toast was delightful! It had an interesting mouth feel but not a bad one; the flavors were familiar but new in their combination.
I had the Kee-Mao Seafood level 4, and she had the spicy basil level 4 with a side of stir fried vegetables. Our spice levels were on point: just hot enough without compromising the flavor. The portions were good (though I probably shouldn't have eaten it all, I'm still full as a type this the morning after 🤣).
Something we don't talk about much: the timing was great. The appetizers came out in a reasonable time frame, and the entrees came out as we were done with the appetizers. Timing is usually only noticed when it's really off, so I thought I'd mention it here.
If you've never been, slide on over there. They'll feed you well and treat you right! That's why they've been around for so long!
We are blessed in this area to have several excellent Thai restaurants. This one is among some of the longest standing in the area. I've been dining here off and on for 20 years and every time the food is excellent. It's always very quiet in the dining room. A great place for meetings or occasions where you want great food and to be able to hear everyone. See you next time :)
The most fresh tasting food! They prepare your meal when you order. A wonderful place to eat. And the people genuinely care about your food, service and overall experience!
Friendly staff, food was good
Always very good, never had a bad meal.
Food and service were superb. Family owned and run. Very personablecstaff.
My order was drunken noodles to go. I will say that the staff was friendly, but the food was extremely bland. I don’t think they added any sauce other than a lot of fish sauce. That’s the only thing I tasted. I asked for spice, and no spice was added. No spice on a drunken noodles dish means that it’s not drunken noodles, a traditionally very spicy dish.
This isn’t the first time it has happened either, so I would not recommend and will not be back again! I don’t know why it has so many good reviews, maybe I was just unlucky the three times I went.
Update: I called them and was promised a refund, no refund was issued. I would give them negative stars.
just went with my dad for soccer, and let me tell you folks, the waiters over here are so nice. The food is absolutely amazing and the atmosphere *chefkiss* absolute perfect.
but like seriously if i live in the area id totally come here like every week.
good quality cheap food, great servers, yes.
First time. It was delicious with great service. We will be back.
Great food, clean and quick service
Great food, great service at reasonable prices.
Great food and service.
Friendly service and very clean restaurant that's why they got two stars the tea was very watered down food came to the table hardy warm and tasted old and not pleasant. Won't be back.
So my wife and I had an amazing spot to go when we lived in Europe for Thai food that no one in the Murfreesboro area has been able to come close to in quality, until recently when we decided to give this place a try. The dish we both thoroughly enjoyed was Massamin. I asked for the hottest level of spice and my wife had the lowest. Both were amazing and tasted incredibly fresh. The place is family run and we spoke to both of the sons who work there and were very friendly and genuine people. They also took the time to talk with us about their own personal lives and how they grow their own ingredients in the back for their dishes. My family has definitely found our new Thai place and will likely be returning a few times a month from hence forth.
Food is really, really good. Service super. Can't wait to go back.
First time here and the atmosphere was superb. Had the Phó Beef and meatball along with Pad See-Ew and it was FANTASTIC!!! The chefs really know how to bring it on. The service was great and the servings were just perfect for the price. I will definitely come back when in town. Highly recommend trying this family owned restaurant.
Right amount of food for a lunch.
Second time here and the food was great just as the first time. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the place is very clean
Nice and quiet atmosphere. Food was wonderful. Highly reccomend place to others.
Went out to dinner here last month and haven’t stopped thinking about it! I got the pho which was phenomenal but our server went above and beyond at providing wonderful, attentive service. Love this family owned business and am planning on introducing my friends to it this weekend! I definitely would recommend to anyone who enjoys Thai food and is looking for a great dining experience.
