Went for Stir Fry for the first time tonight. Wednesdays and Saturdays are half priced sushi. I ordered the pork and shrimp dumplings, a cocktail called "Frostbite" and an assortment of 3 sushi rolls. All of the food was hot, super flavorful and absolutely delicious. The dynamite roll was my favorite. My total was $37 which is about half what it is at other restaurants. Lots of seating , competent server, fun, laid back atmosphere.
My significant other had showed me this place and we go here about once a month. The service here is always phenomenal. They are very attentive. The food here is excellent! On Wednesday they have half off sushi. Definitely worth trying that. The Eal and Cucumber roll is mouth watering. If your not big on Sushi, you have to at least try the Texas Roll, its made eith cooked steak. Their hot and sour soup has a kick. Their egg drop soup is a bit bland, but it tastes amazing compared to other restaurants. You definitely have to try their curry's. My favorite is the Thai Basial Green Curry. As for mixed drinks, I absolutely love their Blackberry Mule.
Pretty dang good. I go for the sushi. They have a limited list of half-price sushi Saturdays all day. I took my friend for her first experience here to try their sushi. She was used to one of their sister restaurant, 620 State in Bristol. I had the spicy tuna roll and the stirfry roll. my friend had the Bakersfield roll, the eel and cucumber roll, and the dynamite roll. They were all really good and well-dressed. Mia was our server and was FANTASTIC! 6 rolls and two bowls of hot & sour soup (which is my favorite) was $40. Worth every penny!
Amazing staff! The best sushi chefs! I have a severe grain/rice allergy and this is the only place in Kingsport that will make my sushi accordingly without rice! Best Food and service around!
Was in Tennessee for a graduation and before I left met family to try out the Stir Fry Cafe. Was surprised with the large portions of food. I got the General Tso's Chicken and it was delicious. Was not sweet like at the carry out places. Staff was attentive. We had a party of 10 and staff took care of us with ease. I highly recommend this place. They have something for everyone.
Fantastic food and even better service. There was a young black lady who was super sweet and made me feel good about myself and also my bartender, she was totally on point. The chefs here take their job seriously, and the food proves their commitment. I had such a great experience, can't wait to come back
I had the drunken noodles. It was ok. I wouldn’t order it again.
I have been to the stirfry cafe twice now..tried both of the currys..
Excellent..best curry i have ever eaten and will order it again
Ramen noodles 🍜 were stuck in a big clump !
Amazing staff! The best sushi chefs! I have a severe grain/rice allergy and this is the only place in Kingsport that will make my sushi accordingly without rice! Best Food and service around!
This establishment is very clean. The tables were clean. The floors were clean. The restrooms were clean. The food was great. Our Server Joshua was phenomenal! We WILL be back!
Not worth the wait! Ruined a special occasion with family! After arriving here around 6:15pm on a Saturday the place was packed and there was no seating available. After asking the hostess what the wait time was she said 15 to 30 minutes which is a big difference. Any other restaurant has seats available for guests to wait and usually have outdoor heating when freezing like in college towns such as Knoxville. Not only do they not have seating to wait outside because it was freezing they do not have pagers or taki your number to notify you if you decided to wait in your car. In fact there was no place to stand to wait for a table and they don't take reservations. Customers should feel welcome and the feeling I got was uncomfortable overcrowding just waiting for a stampede.
May be the best hot & sour soup in the Tri Cities. Perfect compliment to the soup is the Rainbow Roll. This is one of the best Asian restaurants in our area.
Ate here two times, once for typically entrees and once for Togo sushi, and one of our entrees were super bland, the other was okay. The sushi we picked up had very mushy rice and rolls were falling apart. So hard to eat and the rice seemed soaked or super wet. If we ate this the first time we wouldn’t have came back.
Yummy Crab Rangoons
My favorite place ever. Food and service is great love love love this place.

Excellent dine in for lunch today! Food is excellent and super close to 4 stars!! My 3rd time back and still impressed! Way to go stir fry crew!!!
I had an amazing experience thanks to my friendly and attentive bartender, Bri. She went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed and made the atmosphere so enjoyable. Truly a gem—highly recommend!
Menu has something for everyone. Our party had vegan needs and this place was our best bet for dinner. We were glad to see a lot of vegan options on the menu. Everyone was happy with the food and the prices.
Interior was a little dark
Drive through... much better after it sat.
Disappointing. After reading such rave reviews we decided to give it a try. It was cold even with a sweatshirt on, the food was delivered burnt - quesadilla (cook and waitress had to have noticed that!), my burnt fish was buried under the slaw in my taco. The salsa tasted like tomato puree, tasteless. Where we sat the floor boards must have been loose. Everytime this one waitress with boots passed it was like a stampede of cattle. We would normally chalk it up to the place having a bad day but that was way too much. We won't be returning.
Top-notch skilled bartenders make a difference here.
Great menu, quality food generously portioned. Attentive service
Food was unimpressive. Sushi special tasted like it had been premade and sitting out for a while. Rangoons were decent but not really hot. The stirfry bowls were super dissatisfying. Rice was not hot and dry. The protein vegs and sauces were so bland. And again nothing was hot. Just kinda barely warm. Maybe an off day for them, but not sure if it’s worth a return visit.
Great food and drinks
Amazing food. Amazing staff.
I had the sesame chicken. It is a classic among afficionado's, and I think it was just about perfect. It came out fast, and tasted great. 10/10 will visit again.
Love this place and have for years and years. The overall quality keeps going down. Service is still top-notch, food not so much. Hopefully, things will change soon.
Our meal was amazing and our server was great!
One of several excellent downtown Kingsport options!
The hot and sour soup was delicious and the fresh made wonton noodles yummy
Well let's just say we tried again to see if changes were made. Crab Rangoon was both soft and hard dough. Sushi was small portions along the general cho chicken. Definitely disappointed and will just drive into JC next time. One sushi was drowned in eel sauce and the other one looked like Spanish rice and drenched in Sriracha sauce. Very frustrating and still paid 50!$.
1 year ago. Came here after swim meet like we always do when we are in town. However, it was one thing after another. Crab Rangoon was soft not crispy at all. 2 orders were like this. :/ then I got the junkyard sushi roll. And everything was on the side not on the roll. Bacon was full strips of bacon and so crispy it was nearly dust. Egg drop soup was like water down oily broth. And the white rice that our son loves was dry and he didn't eat one bite. Shrimp tacos was odd bc we could have sworn it was shrimp tempura but the shrimp was just sautéed. We ended up paying and leaving. Then stopping at grocery store for frozen pizza to fill everyone up. Very disappointed. Even worse because I talked highly of this place to fellow swim families and now having to take it back because I don't want them to have the same experience.
We knew of one good Asian restaurant in the area, now I know of two. I will return here before any other. The Mongolian Chicken was fantastic. I moved from Chicagoland and what they refer to as “spicy” in Tennessee isn’t really spicy. The Mongolian Chicken was truly spicy and it left me wanting MORE!
This is a great restaurant and although they partially specialize in sushi, it is in no way the best thing on the menu. Stick instead with some of the stir fry options.
Always a great experience here. Food and staff are amazing.
This place is only worth it when the sushi is half off and barely. They have some new policy THEY SAY where you only get half off on dine in orders. They took the order went to the back and came back saying this is a new policy. This felt like discrimination and we wouldn't be back if the garbage was free. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
so, initially, I ordered a stir fry roll for myself, shrimp fried rice for my fiance, & spring veggie rolls for us to share. my fiance picked it up & brought it home. sushi usually has many flavors that blend together wll and create a quality taste, however, this stir fru roll provided a more off putting taste. my fiance commented that his rice was bland, which after trying, I agreed. we both agreed, as well, that the veggies rolls were very bland. (I will say tht the veggies in the rice and rolls were very fresh, which is very important in Asian food, so I do appreciate that). we were both very excited for the food bcus we were both starving and then quickly let down. I called the restaurant to express my dissatisfaction. I initially spoke to (who I imagine was) the hostess, & described our experience w the food. I expected only to speak w her and just share my thoughts. however, this employee quickly apologized and put me on w the manager. this was very professional, which I appreciated. I then spoke w manager Trent and stated the same I did w the prior employee, again, only expecting a conversation to express my dissatisfaction due to my prior excitment (and hunger). however, after being very sympathetic and understanding of dissatisfaction, Trent quickly offered to replace both food items for my man & I. I told him I apprecited that & if he didn't mund to do so, I would be willing to delete my previous 3 star review w only dissatisfaction & give another review. so, for the second round, I got Mahi Tacos while my man got a dragon roll. my man stated the dragon roll was just as the first roll, so I am guessing sushi isnt their strong suit, our type of sushi, or both. however, my Mahi tacos (w a side of sweet potato & garlic fries) was very tasty and prepared well. I would have gave 4 stars no matter what, based on incredible and professional service of staff, however, my taco and fries were delicious. therefore, that is why I decided to give five stars.
Always great food and great chicking wings and great friendly staff
We ordered the pork belly ramen, pan-fried dumplings, and ribs. Everything is a bit more on the sweet side. Not a lot of ribs, but quite a lot of noodle. The problem was that neither of the hostesses was in a good mood, they never smiled. We didn't feel welcome. I don't know if it was because they had a lot of customers earlier (the Fun Fest was going on).
The bags of gold...muah....sooo good. 10 out of 10 recommend
The food is authentic and delicious. The service was excellent. Would highly recommend eating there.
Excellent local restaurant. Pan-Asian style cuisine with a few American home-style favorites for the less interested eater. Varied menu blending Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese food. Limited specialty sushi items. Prices are fair and the interior is great. The staff are always friendly. Parking on the street can be tough to find at times.
On my most recent visit, the place was slammed but our waitress was awesome, held down the fort, and had full sushi plates for 2 plus cocktails for less than $30.
Food and service are great!
I only say it was 4 star because it was a bit noisy and they didn't have the Thai soup which is kind of a staple for Thai eating (the lemongrass coconut milk soup-tom ka gai) We will be returning because the food is great! We had the mahi tacos and the general stir fry with brown rice, no listed below.
Food was delivered fast, service was apt, the air was cool and the scene is fine. Eaten there many time, get the Crab Rangoons!
My niece and I go here for the half price sushi. Staffs always friendly.
First time there and we will definitely be back.
Service was fantastic. Atmosphere was great. Food absolutely delicious.

The food was great. I'm from New England so I'm really picky when it comes to seafood..the tuna was not good tho. It smelled off and I had to spit it out. I had tuna on top of other roll (different cut obviously) and it was delicious. Fire cracker shrimp had zero spice but tasty and the Crab Rangoons were perfection.
Great food, love it every time I go!
We really enjoy Stir Fry Cafe, especially half priced sushi rolls on Saturdays! Great food, always great service. Nice outdoor seating for nice days. Highly recommended!
Loved it. Visiting due to teacher training (3 days) and have eaten there twice. Service was great and fast. Sushi couldn't have been better.
Highly recommend. Shrimp n grits were the best ive ever had
Good food. Fresh ingredients. Great atmosphere with above quality service.
Sushi is great! 1/2 price sushi options ... YUM!
Excellent food!!! The only reason I gave 4 stars on service is because they forgot about our appetizer and it ended up coming out after our meal was brought to our table.
Food was good, sushi was good, and they give you nice portions. Priced pretty cheaply too.
Wide variety of food choices. But it's a little noisy there
I have had much better food. This location is just ok, but, I will not eat there again.
Kingsport needs more but at least they have stir fry
Hannah was our waitress and she absolutely went above and beyond. Truly, the sweetest and nicest person. The food was amazing and I couldn't have asked for better service.
The place is great to enjoy free time with friends or family, very cool bar! Food is a bit too salty and not spicy enough. Thai food needs spice and those green and red peppers were just not there. Curry was weird without spice. Lower that sodium for a couple of notches and spice it up!
Got seated quickly, took our order soon after. Food came out quick and tasted great.
We had excellent service, we went on Monday. Our server was about to leave to pick his child up. He is a phenomenal server. Remembered us from months ago. Great food. I will say it again, Great food!!!!
Great food

I've had sushi, curry, seared tuna, salad -all on point. Other than a bar table that was a little wonky - it has been a great experience - and the server adjusted the stable for me immediately! Thanks for great atmosphere and lots of healthy and delicious food options for this traveler.
Love this place. Beautiful atmosphere and amazing staff. Chris is wonderful.
Some of the best Asian cuisine we have ever had. Sauces on the noodles and meat were light and full of flavor.
We aren't sushi fans bit their noodle dishes are amazing.
Fantastic food and even better service. There was a young black lady who was super sweet and made me feel good about myself and also my bartender, she was totally on point. The chefs here take their job seriously, and the food proves their commitment. I had such a great experience, can't wait to come back
It's nice great food and great service
Second go around for this spot..close to home..downtown setting. Amazing food and service with multiple areas to choose a table.
Our waitress was extremely nice and friendly. Had great recommendations on food as well as specials. The food was great and the sushi was fresh. The restaurant and bar and bathrooms were all extremely clean!
Overall this place isn't bad. Just a bit more inconsistent than I care for. Sometimes the food can be great. Other times it's just ok. Service is always pleasant.
About a month ago my husband and I ordered out from here. At first we attempted to order online and after placing the order (and the money coming off of our card) we were told that online ordering was down and we'd have to call in the order over the phone, we did that and went to pick up the food.. upon arriving my husband sees the bag with my name on it sitting on the counter, he attempted to grab it and the sushi chef working at the bar yelled "sir, stop" at my husband as if he was trying to steal the food that we have paid for. (He had dreads or thick braids in the off chance the owners/managers feel as if they should retrain their staff to have common social skills) Later that night we received a call from a very pleasant manager saying he would offer a refund and comp a meal seeing as we would have to travel to receive the money that shouldn't have been taken in the first place. Fast forward to today, we stopped by to get the refund and a different manager to the one I spoke with handled the matter. He spoke in a very demeaning tone, stating "we usually don't do this but since it's such a small amount of money we will make an exception" apparently completely oblivious to the fact that I was only there to receive money that they owed to us. 2/5 stars and that's being generous.
It's adequate Thai food. Not the best in Kingsport but when the others are closed...eat here.
We have dine in and gotten
carryout several times . They
are one of the best Asian
restaurants in the tri cities
The menu has a excellent
variety of sushi and thai
dishes and burgers too.
Some of our faves are drunken
noodles, Mongolian stir fry, egg
drop soup and spicy noodles.
Curry and hot & sour soup.
The portions are very large and
the service is good. The staff is
friendly.
Cool little restaurant in an older remodeled building on Main Street. Love the exposed brick walls 🧱. Good food selection and everything was fresh hot and tasty 😋
Loved the food. Got the Philadelphia roll & the Texas roll. Really enjoyed it.
Had the hot and sour soup, Hong Kong noodles (server suggested) and the overstuffed quesadilla with sweet potato fries. Absolutely everything was delicious, including the sweet tea, which actually tasted like tea and was not sweet to the point of being humming bird food. If we lived closer, we would definitely come back!! Worth the trip off of Interstate 26 because the food is SOOOO good and the service was excellent too.
I must say, I'm glad I didn't go based off the reviews. Despite seeing a lot of negative reviews, I came to try it for myself. I had been here before but it had been many years ago before COVID-19. And the dining experience overall was great. Had Crab Rangoons as the appetizer. Absolutely delicious I must say. I had the Firecracker Shrimp Tacos, also delicious. Only minor displeasure that we experience was the restaurant was super loud. That's certainly not the restaurant's fault, as tables were starting to get full and many people in general were inside. Our server, whom I unfortunately have forgotten his name ( he was wearing a Penn State hat ) was superb. Very attentive and made our dining experience pleasant. Highly recommend giving Stir Fry Cafe in Kingsport, TN a try.
Great food, great service.. one of the best bourbon selections in the tri-cities!! A place with 3 van winkles on the (10,12 & 15) shelf!!
Plus all the other top picks… Come see for yourself !!
Never had a bad meal yet, always leave so so full!!!
Tonight was my meemaws 90th birthday ! The food and service was fantastic !! Thank you all so much !
The food this time was even better than I remember. First time ordering to go and they had it ready right when they said they would, maybe even a little early. Highly appreciated.
One of our favorite places in Kingsport
Nice location, really good food & friendly service. You gotta try the crab rangoon & firecracker shrimp tacos.
I recently had the opportunity to dine at SFC, and I'd like to share my experience, which was a mix of highs and lows.
Firstly, I tried their take on a classic Thai national dish. While it was good, it didn't quite hit the mark of the traditional flavor I was expecting. I asked for my dish to be extremely spicy, and although it had a vibrant red hue, the spice level didn't exist. I'm not sure if this was due to them having dishes sent back and being careful, or a lack of ability. However, a pleasant surprise was the pork in the dish, which had a subtle and delightful curry flavor that I really appreciated.
I also sampled a sushi roll during my visit. Initially, I was a bit hesitant as the roll had a unique aroma, but it turned out to taste just fine.
The highlight of my visit was definitely the service. Despite the restaurant being very busy and our group being quite large, the staff managed to deliver excellent service. Our server, in particular, was commendable for efficiently handling an order issue for one of our group members.
Another noteworthy aspect of SFC is their whiskey collection. It's quite impressive and ever-changing, featuring some rare and hard-to-find bottles that will surely delight whiskey enthusiasts.
In terms of the overall atmosphere and offerings, Stir Fry Cafe seems like a suitable option for group dining. They have a diverse menu that caters to a variety of tastes, ensuring that everyone in a group can find something to their liking. While I might not choose it for a solo visit, it's a reasonable choice when dining out with others.
The food is not that great. Kinda bad to be honest. Way over hyped in my opinion. Hostess was very rude and looked like she hated her job. Waitress wasn’t that good either seem like she didn’t want to be there.
First time. Came based on Eating around Greeneville recommendations on Facebook. We both had different types of Shrimp Curry, mine with Brown rice. Shrimp were huge scrumptious and filled the dish! Service was patient with newcomers, quick, they share duties which makes everything quick! May have found our new favorite Kingsport restaurant!
The food and service are excellent 👍
One of the best spots in Kingsport for food & drink. Great creative cocktails and craft beer selection! Every server we've had is fantastic. Check out their half-price sushi twice a week; outside of those times try our favorite King Rama curry. One of the select places in Kingsport we bring visiting friends & family.
I regret coming here. For my anniversary. Not only did they completely reverse the order and it gave us headaches and stomach pain but they want us to pay for their mistake because we were too nice to not throw it back at the kitchen and we didn't want to waste food. The trainer was not training the waitress that was doing a good job who is new. And there was no resolution unless we got to the second level manager to find a resolution who appeared apathetic and not understanding that they can't tell the difference between a wet dish and a dry dish. And they did not change the oil when frying the wings so the wings tasted like used burnt oil. Do not come here after 7:00 p.m. on the busy time and go to the bar and expect anything other than bar food. I regret coming here. And I don't actually expect any resolution because management barely resolved it and we paid 100% of our ticket minus $1. I will always think twice about coming here and I drove an hour to get here one way. Don't ever come here on the weekend unless you want bar food after 7:00
Amazing food and service!
Stir Fry Cafe: Asian, Sushi & Thai Cuisine is a culinary gem. Their Black and Blue Burger is a flavor explosion with perfectly grilled beef, bold blackening spices, and the creamy tang of blue cheese. It's a burger lover's dream come true. The Hot and Sour Soup is a delightful balance of heat and tang, delivering a comforting warmth to your taste buds. This restaurant seamlessly blends Asian, Sushi, and Thai flavors, offering a diverse and satisfying menu. With friendly service and an inviting atmosphere, Stir Fry Cafe is a must-visit for those seeking an extraordinary dining experience.
Thankfully we did not go by the reviews that we read. Our server was awesome, she was training and did a phenomenal job.
We had 6 people and we waited about an hour to get seated.
No one was rude to us, every employee we encountered was nice and accommodating.
The food was good, taste was as expected. The cheesecake was amazing and BTW one piece could easily feed 2 people.
Big plus for us is my husband literally eats only meat and potatoes and their burger and fries were perfect for him while the rest of us enjoyed the sushi and other Asian items.
The only negative I can say are 1. The waiting area outside people stand right there and smoke and it's pretty awful.
2. Parking, however parking in every downtown area I've ever been to is a problem. There is a covered parking deck a block away.
It was definitely a much, much better experience than the reviews that almost kept us away.
The service was horrible. Stir fry is known for their slow service, but I hadn’t really experienced it myself. However, I went for sushi with my fiancé, and the service was horrendous. It took around 10 minutes for the server to greet us. I asked for a drink menu after she (the server) came back with a drink for my fiancé, and she finally came back about 2 minutes before our food came out to drop off chopsticks. She never asked if I wanted a drink or anything, and she got a somewhat annoyed tone when I ordered the drink and asked for some firecracker sauce with my sushi. The drink and sauce we asked for came about 10-15 minutes after we asked for it, and by the time I got the drink/sauce for my sushi, my sushi was soggy (I got the stir fry roll). I’ve never had soggy sushi from stir fry, so I was pretty disappointed that was from the result of waiting so long for the sauce to dip it in. It seems like a petty thing to be upset about some sauce, but I also can understand people can get busy. However, I don’t understand why the server made little to no effort, even though we waited patiently and gave no indication that we were upset. What made me the most upset was when she came back with the sauce and practically slammed it down on the table as if it was some kind of major inconvenience to her. As if we didn’t ask for it 10-15 minutes prior to that occurring. There was a two top that got sat beside us that was also in that server’s section right around the same time we had ordered the drinks and sauce. They had not been helped right up until we left. I never got a refill on my water or checked on to see if the food was good. Overall, I’ve always loved stir fry and went fairly often, but I won’t be returning any time soon. I’m very disappointed with the “service” that was given.
Food is always fresh. Service has never been an issue. Do yourself a favor and make sure you order the dessert. Cheese cake is among the best I've ever had.
Great sushi
Dirty table nasty smell when you walk in employee suck food did and very cold there no temperature on it wow will I'll never come here again
Good food, service and place to eat
Stir Fry is an amazing restaurant, we always spend our anniversary here. The service is prompt tho there can sometimes be a wait for large orders of sushi.
Amazing Food and Wonderful e
Just don’t bother.
Best place to go for a sit down meal in downtown Kingsport. There's also a pretty decent bar inside. Side walk dining in warm enough weather.
Half price sushi is a must and kids love the fried chicken
Sushi is great but the pork belly ramen was my favorite
Nice restaurant with very good service. Are during lunch and got Massaman curry. Cheese cake for dessert is made in house and tasty.
Great food and great service
On a Saturday at 6 pm, we got a table right away for 6. Sushi was smaller pieces. Food was good with a good spice level. Service was good. We were by the door, so there was a cold draft and the room is loud making it a bit hard to hear. Prices are reasonable/comparable to other local Asian restaurants.
First time eating there it was very good staff was awesome
Our experience at the restaurant started off well with an attentive server. We had two appetizers, the firecracker shrimp and a spicy roll however, things went south after that. Both of our entrées; which consisted of the pork belly Ramen and general Tso chicken were excessively sweet. I don’t know about you but when I get Ramen I do not want the broth to be sweet I want it to be savory and this was definitely on the sweet side of things. The general Tso chicken was also extremely sweet and did not have any heat to it at all. In addition to that the brown rice was severely underdone. Overall, we enjoyed the appetizers, but would not order the same entrées again. You’ve been warned, if you don’t like sweet entrées, do not get either of these.
I just wanted to say the ramen is amazing and Chloe is a wonderful server!!
If I could give less than one star, I would. First we walked in to no one at the host stand. We stood there for at least 5 or 10 minutes when finally a girl walks away from a group of friends wanders over. She had seen us there and chose to chat it up with her friends while we waited. On top of that she acted irritated that we were even there. Upon looking at the menu I could find only two gluten free options but maybe there were more. However the menus were so faded they were hard to read. We just left. Very dissatisfied. As out of town guests, this painted a poor picture of Kingsport.
Their food is always fantastic!
