We are a small family diner. We serve Thai and Vietnamese cuisine.
Very good restaurant hidden in a small shopping center in Cayce. Aren’t the best Thai restaurants in places like this. I’m glad I tried it. Wonderful. I had the Pad Kee Mao with Chicken (Thai Hot) and Vietnamese Eggrolls, and Hot and Sour Soup. All fantastic. The noodles were thin rice noodles. I’m used to thick rice noodles for this dish, but it was still great. The Vietnamese eggrolls were amazing. Thin rice noodles with Chicken. Strong recommendation from me.
I'm quite baffled by the positive reviews here. This was easily the worst Thai food I've ever had. My Pad Woon Sen was just a small dollop of grossly overcooked noodles swimming in some kind of broth-like substance. The noodles were just mush because they were so macerated, and there were barely any there for $10.
The pineapple fried rice was equally terrible. It had two chunks of pineapple, and it was seasoned like cheap Chinese takeout rice instead of with the blend of curry powder and a light sauce that is common with pineapple fried rice.
The fried spring rolls were equally terrible with nothing but pork and cabbage inside. They were also burnt until blackened on the outside.
The wontons were hollow, but the spring rolls and house sauce touched my soul. The peanut chicken and Thai fried rice is amazing as well as the pepper steak I snuck off Bo plate...the teriyaki chicken sticks are juicy and full of flavor....prices excellent as well. Even though we were the only ones here, there was a little wait but that's OK when your food comes out fresh and amazing
The world is my Oyster. I crave authentic ethnic cuisine. But I've been spoiled with the elevated diversity of San Diego. All of a sudden I missed Vietnam and the fresh spring rolls and dipping sauce like the ones of the Clairmont area. Golden Chopsticks came close. Then I realized...it missed that punch of International flavor of the mint. I didn't realize how much it added to this dish. Well as a chef I came home and created what I was missing just to satisfy those cravings. My lunch partner enjoyed his pork noodles. The decor was amazing but I would switch out We are the Champions to some take me away Thai music @
Had a great experience eating here. The lady is lovely and the food is tasty and affordable. Thai donuts were excellent. Thank you for making our food extra spicy 🤗
This place has always been a go to. Been coming here for my birthday since I was a kid. The food is so fresh, and delicious obviously. A lovely family runs the restaurant & the small grocery store next door. You can’t go wrong here. Personal favs: the bun, the curry, the tom kha kai soup (get a large & split it as an app!), the Spring Rolls. 🤤
(The amount of food you get for the price is great too)
Very friendly place. Family owned. Great chef. Delicious food most of it not listed below. Pho soup is excellent. Noodles such as Pad Thai exquisite. Vietnamese rolls and buns are very good. The restaurant and the neighboring Asian food store are located in the niche of a small shopping area and near the road to the Columbia Metropolitan Airport. They do takeout too.
Food is the best. Healthy and clean. Delicious.
Very authentic!!!

This restaurant and its staff seriously need to reconsider how they season their food. It's bland and generic.
Amazing food! Vietnamese spring rolls are the best ever!! We have been coming for 20 years and will continue. :)
The food not as flavorful as it should have been. Thai food is usually bold and spicy. This was very bland, not much chicken. The spring rolls are wieird and extra long. Overall very disappointed
Taro bubble tea with light sweet is delicious. Pas Thai chicken, Tom kha soup, imperial rolls — top choices! Cute spot for an intimate date or for pick up.

Very authentic food. Sweet family that owns restaurant. Decor could use a face-lift but overall delicious and charming experience.
Very little chicken in the Vietnamese noodles, but really loved the sauce and fresh veggies in it. My partner ordered the spicy fried rice and it wasn’t spicy and didn’t have any flavor. Was really hoping for a banh mi but they didn’t have it on the menu.
Small and quiet little place. Service is excellent, for is even better. Had the Pho and it was delicious. We also tried the fresh spring rolls which also were delicious. Definitely going back. Food was fresh and homemade.
My first having Pho and it was so good. They were friendly and nice.
Ambiance:
Walking into Golden Chopsticks, I was initially skeptical due to the bright lighting, simple furniture with duct tape, and Linkin Park playing on the radio. However, the unique ambiance grew on me, adding to the charm of this hidden gem.
Service:
Despite being the only customer, the service was friendly and efficient. I was promptly seated, served my drink, and received my dumpling appetizer without delay.
Food Quality:
The Vietnamese bun I ordered turned out to be more of a noodle salad than a soup, but it was delicious nonetheless. The flavors were vibrant, and the dish exceeded my expectations.
Price:
I found the prices to be quite reasonable for the quality and portion sizes offered. It was a great value for the tasty meal I enjoyed.
Overall Experience:
Despite initial doubts, Golden Chopsticks turned out to be a delightful surprise. It may not look like much from the outside, but the food and service make it a hidden gem worth returning to. I would highly recommend giving it a try.
Pho was delicious, and the dumplings were excellent as well. Can't wait to go back.

I’ve been coming here for over 30 years, even when it changed ownership the quality, taste, and portion sizes have remained the same. Super friendly family and I’m always treated as such
Try the shrimp bun you won’t be disappointed

Food was not as expected. I am a big fan of Thai food.
I will give this place one more try .I hope they will use thai species and make Authentic Thai Food.
We love this restraunt! Delicious, authentic food and great service!
Tried this place on a whim and we really enjoyed it! The bun (noodle dish) was flavorful, herby and had lots of good textures. Would recommend adding the Vietnamese egg rolls on top. Thom ka soup was DELICIOUS and so was the wonton soup, though a little bit different than Chinese wonton. The girl working at the front was very nice as well. Will definitely be returning here! A great takeout spot in the west cola / cayce area.
Always good! Been coming here for decades. Owners changed over the years, but still my go-to.
The wontons were hollow, but the spring rolls and house sauce touched my soul. We moved down to SC from the DC area 8 years ago and we have been searching for authentic Vietnamese food ever since. We found it here last night! Excellent quality, authentic environment and excellent family staff! We will be back!

Finally. Finally I have experienced true Vietnamese cuisine. Wonderful atmosphere, clean, beautifully decorated, clean restrooms, and marvelously tasty food. My appetizer was steamed chicken dumplings, which were served quite quickly. Then I had the ginger chicken with steamed rice. The portions were pretty filling and steaming hot when served. I really love this place, no complaints at all.
Food was outstanding, so clean, a hidden gem.
A few of my friends in SC love this place. I've been there a few times with them. Excellent staff. Food is good. Unfortunately, it was closed temporarily the last time we went there.
A bit disappointed. Flavor was lacking for Thai.
Excellent food!
It’s a little off the beaten path, but it’s a very cute family owned place with so many options. They were knowledgeable and helpful with allergen issues/dietary restrictions.
Beef salads/steamed dumplings/spring rolls cooked to perfection! Everything secured in boxes and option of sauces to go!!! Welcoming and attentive staff… We will definitely be back:)))
The service is impeccable and the decor is beautiful. I would recommend the fish balls and Thai iced tea.
I would like to say that the staffing needs to be addressed. Only 1 server is not enough for the popularity. I tried this place twice. The first time I was told my food would be ready in 15 minutes, it was done in 20, not a big deal. However I came backsecond time, was told it would be 20 minutes, went ahead and paid, came back after 25 minutes and waited an additional 25 minutes. I think maybe they overlooked my order since it wasn’t the largest, but a 50 minute wait for 2 items seems a bit much when they weren’t really that busy. If you are okay with waiting, go for it. the food is good, but not great,
I love this place, I just have to say that
Excellent food, my favourite restaurant in SC. Trying to do the whole menu while in here.
Got lucky enough to move close to this place and happened to order takeout shortly after we moved in since it was so close by. Everything we've ordered since has been delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced. The Vietnamese Egg Rolls, Bun, and Gang Panang curry are my favorites.
Food was too salty. Could not eat
I've tried a few places for Pho chicken. I've been disappointed with the others. I don't have to look any further! This place is perfect! It has a different flavor than what I am used to but way WAY better than anything else around. We had also had the ginger chicken and the chicken fried rice for the kids. Everyone was happy with how their food tasted. Definitely recommend this cozy family run business. Staff is very friendly also.
Such a pleasant experience. Small family owned business. Not fancy but oh so good. Fresh ingredients made to order. The family is lovely. We will be back.
The food is bussin, recommends the masaman and Vietnamese buns. They have amazing service.
This place has amazing Thai and Vietnamese food. All the types of rolls and desserts are amazing in addition to the entrées!!
Great food and great owners.
Everything my family tries is amazing.
This is a very friendly family owned and family friendly restaurant.
Very nice local restaurant. Loves the vietnamese egg rolls. Tried Vietnamese Buns Noodle and Pad Woonsen, very delicious.
Spring rolls were overcooked and extremely brown (close to burnt on the ends).
Chicken satay was extremely overcooked...very hard to get it off the stick.
Imperial Rolls were not as good as they used to be....too many noodles, not enough shrimp.
On the upside the Bun was delicious.
The staff is very friendly too!
The food always tastes good, however, it typically needs a little heat added to really shine. Last week the spring rolls were a little over done, but otherwise everything was really good. The only thing I’ve ever heard so-so reviews on was the pineapple fried rice being “too sweet.”
Food was very well portioned, golden spatula given. Not very esthetically pleasing buttt well worth the flavor and price. Have to sit down and revisit for a better review
Flavors are out of this world!!! Everything I ordered delivered more than I expected. I particularly enjoyed the different sauces paired with the spring rolls, fried tofu, and vegetable tempura. The spicy pork had a very subtle and refreshing hint of anise. I was amazed at how the savory and spicy flavors seemed to be in strategic layers. I look forward to exploring the menu in depth.
I’ve heard good things about this place for a while but finally ordered takeout tonight. Everything was hot and fresh and inexpensive, ready quickly even on a busy Friday dinner.
But I was blown away by the quality of the food. I’m not gonna lie, I’m not easily impressed when it comes to food. I don’t dine out often as I don’t feel most places live up to my expectations. But this was phenomenal! We got spring rolls, veggie tempura, fried tofu, spiced pork, and “amazing Thai” from the specialty menu. I couldn’t pick a favorite if I tried.
If you haven’t eaten here yet, do yourself a favor and try it out. I can’t wait to make my way through the rest of the menu!
This is our favorite Thai place. The Vietnamese Bun is my favorite item, but I’ve never had a bad meal here. Everything is delicious!
Enjoy this place go there often have no complaints
The worst. Took forever. Wonton soup like dishwater. Wontons were mush. Shrimp were mush. Fried Rice scalded. 18.00? Never again.
Placed a pick up order by phone for PHO after a freezing cold day. The soup was excellent and the staff was very friendly on the phone. The order was packed very efficiently and we really enjoyed it! Thank you!
I've upgraded the lighting in this place so I wanted to try to food and I got to say it exceeded my expectations the food was fresh hot and nothing was dry it is a very good family ran business. Some items on the menu wasn't available when I was there but maybe next time I'm in town sure would like to try
Great Pho, can't wait to go back!
Not like mom's but is good
The staff were really friendly, a kind young lady and very respectful young man greeted us at the door. We were unsure The food was very bland! First time trying Thai food. Very disappointed. We tried the Vietnamese buns ( johnson)and spiced shrimp- I was not expecting licorice flavor at all.
Great pad thai! Loved it
Food and service was wonderful.
Food was excellent. Ordered the Vietnamese bun, egg rolls, pho, and dumplings. Everything was fresh and you could tell in how well it all tasted. Will definitely be returning.
Pad Thai and Pho are wonderful! Highly recommend!
Great food. Took my kids there for their first taste of Vietnamese food, and it was a hit. There was a wait, but definitely worth it if you have the time.
Good food. Highly recommend the sweet and sour pork 👌
I wasn't going to leave a review because everyone that works here is so nice but I just feel terrible if I don't. I'm not from here so not sure if that's why my whole family didn't like the food. The spring rolls are so greasy and burnt. I have no idea what they put in it (menu description doesn't add up) but it was awful. I honestly don't know what the reviewers who say they are delicious are thinking. Maybe they haven't tried fresh rolled not burnt made in good grease rolls before. The Vietnamese rolls are just as bad. This place wouldn't be a spot I get real good Pho. My order was take out perhaps dine in experience is better. Again I've traveled lots of places and this place just didn't do it for my taste buds but are everyone was so extremely nice.
Very good food. Will definitely be back again. This is the only time I have ever felt the need to leave a review for any restaurant I have ever visited. If you are in the area definitely worth the time to check it out.
Hidden gem I ordered 2 of their egg rolls fried and untried! Both vegetables babe talk about flavor! I will order more next time.
Food was ok. Service was good
I ordered amazing Thai and spicy noodle I was craving both and I enjoyed them both😊The spicy noodle was exactly what I expected it wasn’t overpowering and the amazing Thai with the peanut sauce was perfect I definitely will be back
This is the best hole-in-the-wall Thai place in Columbia. My college friends and I have visited countless places in search of the best inexpensive Thai in the city, and this is by far the best that we've tried. The curries are better than those that cost six or seven more dollars at other places. Takeout even now during COVID was prompt, warm, and delicious. I've tried several dishes, including the red curry, massaman, Vietnamese buns, pad woonsen, pad Thai, and more, and everything has been top notch. I highly recommend this place as one of the best hidden gems of Columbia.
The pho is so good y’all I always get chicken flavor and beef sticks for the appetizer... never disappoints 😂😂👏🏾👏🏾
The Tom ka is awesome, everything is fresh and made to order.
I went to the Golden Chopstix on 2/25. The service is excellent and the food is very tasty. The service is quick and if there is a wait....the time you spend waiting on your food is well worth it. Every dish tastes like the chef has painstakingly put their heart and soul into it. When you enter, it feels like you have been teleported to Vietnam/Thailand, where they have outdoor markets and mini restaurants everywhere. I was honestly thinking, while I ate, that I could walk outside and see the hills and market goers of Vietnam. I loved it. The free soup that they gave me was a delicious treat, as well. I cannot wait to return with my family. I hope that this place will be around for a very long time.
Received excellent service 10/10 would recommend if you are in town for lunch. Food was outstanding and the drink menu is a perfect match to the cuisine. The dishes take some time to arrive but the extra time it takes is well worth the wait. The complimentary soup was a delicious treat as well. I definitely will be returning in the future.
This place is AWESOME! Food is always on point. Get the curry! They are very friendly and good service.
Very nice people. Absolutely delicious food.
Good service and good food 👌
Please don’t waste your money 💰 here we order 3 order of pork egg roll and got vegetable egg rolls and she just to argue with and saying that she did gave the pork one instead she gave us the vegetables one I WILL BUY OR GO HERE EVER WITH THERE ALIW SERVICE AND CANT UNDERSTAND WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS!!!
We had a very tasty lunch here. The food was fresh and delicious. The lunch portion was the right size and price. The wait staff was very friendly and delivered the food quickly and very hot. We will eat there again but skip the veggie rolls. They were a little greasy for my taste.
Excellent food. Had several appetizers and entrees. Everything was delicious.
Nice little place
Just so fresh, flavorful menu. Such sweet smiles from everyone & nice relaxing dining room. Wish they were right around the corner from me.
Good food and service
Go for the pho!
Hole in the wall local secret that has super yummy Vietnamese food.
Best Thai food around. We absolutely love this cozy little restaurant! Definitely a hidden gem!
Very tasty food. Can have a long wait, but the experience is very nice.
Food is authentic. Very very good. Eggrolls Handmade not frozen.. Food is fresh and crispy vegetables..not overcooked. Recommend highly.
First visit and was very happy with my meal and service! Friendly staff and they will prepare to your specifications if you have dietary restrictions. Delicious food. Can't wait to visit again and try more on their menu.
Family owned excellent food. I like to support small buisness
Highly recommend.
Great food and friendly service, I recommend the teriyaki chicken dish
Excellent food.
Great food, good prices. Friendly staff.
Great place for pho. Friendly employees. Love the coconut chicken here. Great atmosphere. Highly recommended!!!
Really a hidden gem. Delicious food, not too expensive and friendly staff.
Love this place. It's clean, food is delicious and the service is excellent. Reasonable prices, too.
ordered take out, very courteous, understood & easily accommodated my vegan changes for the vegetarian bun dish. very good!!
Golden Chopstix is a small family owned Vietnamese/Thai restaurant that has been a mainstay in West Columbia for decades. Food is great and the service is very friendly.
Atmosphere, just ok, lights too dim, and only 2 people running to serve. Party of 12 there too much for 2 people. Food was great.
Food good chairs not very comfortable
One of my favorite spots for lunch! The staff are always so lovely and their food is fresh and well prepared. My coworker likes really spicy food and I am a wimp when it comes to spicy food, they're always able to accommodate both our tastes and never make a mistake with our orders. Never a bad meal here, and they great you like an old friend.
Primarily went there for the Pho, wife loved it, I had the Thai shrimp and it was delicious!
One of our family's favorites places. The bun noodles and massaman curry are the best I've had in the Columbia area.
Food was not that good. The place is gloomy. Eat at your own risk. You've been warned.
Staff members are the best. They treat you like family. Food is always amazing.
I love this place, there are items on this menu I cannot find anywhere else. Their 'Vietnamese Buns' isn't exactly what you expect, it is a large fresh Vietnamese noodle salad and it's addictive. I visit with my wife and one of us has to get this dish every time. Also the fried wontons are easily the best fried wontons in the area. The business appears to be family run, and expect to be waiting for a while- go with someone you love to talk to- but the food is worth it.
To compare, I had better else where in the city of Columbia.
Worse is, there's a little cockroach in my brother's soup. To be polite, we didn't complain. We just let it go. Then there was another one as he search in his soup. 0_0
All five dish taste homemade.
I used to come here for lunch during work. The food is fine, though it gets cold fast. I stopped dining here when I discovered they were charging me the dinner price for a lunch menu item. They changed it when I called them out, but I haven't been back since. Dishonesty to make an extra buck...
Good food.
The service is always wonderful, very welcoming, and atmosphere is cozy, quiet, warm...The food is amazing!!!
Delicious food, wonderful service, lovely atmosphere---a delightful restaurant!!!
Great place! Great Food!
We go to Golden Chopstix virtually every couple of weeks. Great personal service and outstanding (and healthy) food at great prices.
This is a very good place to eat. Family run and great service and food. It's always a pleasure to go there.
The BEST Vietnamese restaurant I have ever been to. Try the BUN with steak and the spring rolls
A great place to eat very quite and fantastic real Thai Food Had an order of Vietnamese Egg and Summer Rolls the best I’ve had in years. Their CB Rice and Pad Thai were great also.
Would
Recommend Golden Chopstix to anyone.
Great food and employees.
Love the Viet. Buns and Viet. Eggrolls. I try to eat here at least once a month.
I got the ginger chicken to go. When I got home, its like a chicken veggie soup with just some white rice. Very flavorless.. Very disappointed. And I didn't get my drink. A waste of 10$
Best lemon pepper wings hands down. Fast and friendly!
Wonderful food, friendly and relaxing atmosphere. The flavors was outstanding. Will definitely be going back.
Don't let the name fool you. This isn't an annoying hipster "Asian fusion" joint, but the best Vietnamese restaurant in the Columbia area.
Amazing food, friendly family owners, good prices, relaxing atmosphere. Always love going. My fav dishes are the Spring Rolls, Vietnamese Buns (beyond amazing noodle dish in huge bowl with, veges and meat/fish if wanted) I like spicy so I order it "Thai hot". The coconut chicken with rice plate is also very delicious. And a must is the Thai tea. It's a small place that packs a big punch. Try it, you'll like it. They also have a small grocery store with this & that next door to the restaurant. The strip mall it is in looks like hell, but there's a diamond in there. Go check it out.
They always BURN the egg rolls
Really loved the food here
Great food and service for a good price. It's generally runs about 10 dollars a head give or take. It's a family run place with great customer service. The decor is also fantastic and enjoyable to be around.
Great food. As spicy - or as mild! - as you want it.
