Very authentic cuisine made by two ladies, Thai & Lao chefs! My husband loves the Thai red chicken curry,
I love the larb & tom sum papaya salad! Pho, baked goods & desserts are all
We have come here many times & the food is always delicious! PS, secret spice “thick” sauce is yummy too! 😋👍🏽👍🏽
Lovely artwork & friendly environment!❤️💙🇱🇻🇱🇦Lieu “Pet”
My wife and I are in town visiting family and we recently stopped by Pho Thai Street Food & Bakery and left feeling thoroughly impressed by what they have to offer
Definitely had to go with a staple, the Chicken Pho. Its broth was rich, striking that balance of spices without overpowering the chicken’s mild flavor. The noodles were spot on, soft yet still a bit firm, and made for a warm lunch, especially for late December weather
I also sampled their Green Thai Tea, which turned out to be better than I expected. Its bright hue had me nervous but had a sweetness to it that blended well with the tea’s natural earthiness. It’s an absolute must-try for any visitor
For an appetizer, the Shu Mai stood out as well. They were moist and packed with savory goodness, wrapped in a casing that was just the right thickness. I forget the name but the dipping sauce brought everything together
The staff was friendly and attentive and since the same young lady was taking orders, cleaning, and serving food decided to give her an extra tip on top of the tip when ordering
All in all, Pho Thai Street Food & Bakery delivers classic flavors for Thai and Vietnamese street food. I see the locals said it is under new management and for what it's worth for just being in town for the holidays from Ohio, I'd recommend this spot!
I have been on several occasions since they opened. I ordered kao moo dang on this visit, and the pork was very tender. The food was very fresh. I really enjoyed it and will return to try different things. The aesthetics of the restaurant are beautiful. The wall art is marvelous. Will definitely try the banh mi on my next visit.
Nice place. Spacious dining area. Order at the front as you enter and they bring your order. Delicious Pho and Thai tea.

We came during lunch. The atmosphere is nice/pleasant/quiet with soft like elevator music. I got the pad thai but when they brought it out, there was a hair on the lime when they gave me my plate. There was too many nuts, sauce, cabbage and not that much Pad Thai.
My husband initially got the Khao Mun Gai, the chicken was bland as if it was just boiled then put on the plate, the rice had a little flavor but it was just rice but a few of the pieces of chicken were bloody/not cooked all the way through so he changed his order to chicken bulgogi. The presentation was nice and colorful but it was a little salty.
The best thing my husband had was the Thai green tea and the vegetable soup was okay. More than likely we won't be back for the food, they should have given us a refund.
Food was delicious!! We both ordered Pho and it was absolutely delicious.
Overall, the food was just okay. While some dishes had their moments, there wasn't anything particularly memorable about the meal. It did the job, but didn't leave a lasting impression.
Great food! Clean, and great customer service

Amazing atmosphere, workers were polite and nice and food was amazing 10/10 would come back again!
Took over an hour to get my beef pho.
Food is decent, self service is okay as well.
Enjoyed the Chicken Pad Thai while dining in. Food was excellent!
Great food for a reasonable price. Plenty to choose from between dishes, drinks, and desserts.
Probably my favorite restaurant in sumter! Delicious, flavorful, and hearty vegetarian/vegan options!
We loved all the food we got and service was great!
Y’all this place is it!! Mango sticky rice will change your life and I’ll never look at wonton soup the same again. Can’t wait to come back!
We had the papaya and mango salads. We also had the green and panang curries. We loved the previous owners food, but the new owner has knocked it out of park on every one of the meals. We’re very ecstatic to have quality and delicious food here in Sumter!! We will definitely be back and it’ll probably be this week! Keep cooking superb food!!!
This place is absolutely delicious, I was not expecting it to be very good... Especially since it's in Sumter SC. I expected it to be ok at best but WOW was I surprised. This is a very delicious spot if you're craving pho or curry. I ordered a chicken pho which placed within my top 10 favorite places I've tried all across the US. I also got a panag curry with shrimp and I requested it to be very spicy... Like Thai native spicy, and boy they did not disappoint!!! It was exactly what I wanted and more! I'm great with spice so it wasn't a problem for me but I can see why the lady who took my order laughed when I requested it that way. Do not order it like I did unless you can handle it. I devoured both bowls in one sitting even though the curry was gonna be my lunch the next day. I just couldn't resist! Last thing I got was the Japanese cheesecake and let me tell you... That thing is award winning no doubt! If you like Thai food please head to this place when you're in town and I promise you won't be disappointed! 11/10
Love this place they recently added more menu items and I'm so happy they have chicken larb
Love this place :) authentic thai fold restaurant own by real thai people. Not only food is amazing , service is great. Personally i had travelled Thailand few times and the food tastes just like im on vacation in thailand. Definitely will be my go to spot in Sumter.
I ate here tonight for the first time and order the Pho. It was absolutely fantastic. The service was great and the young man taking the orders was so polite and friendly. The atmosphere was nice and clean. I highly recommend giving it a try.
AMAZING NORTHERN THAI FOOD!!! I normally never write reviews, but I was passing through on a road trip with my boyfriend and tried the Khao Soi, Shu Mai, and Banh Mi and they were the best Thai food I’ve ever had (and I love Thai food)🥹💗
If you’re debating on giving it a try, I HIGHLY recommend you to come out and give it a try. The owner is super sweet and the food is so yummy. The Khao Soi warmed my belly on this rainy day. They also offer really good vegetarian options. My partner got the tofu Khao Soi and I got the chicken Khao Soi.
Just came home with my partner to visit family and wanted to try this new place and I was amazed with the variety and quality of dishes here that makes it rly unique. The staff was so kind, and the atmosphere was relaxing, prices and portions were generous, probably my favorite new place in Sumter!
Definitely the best Thai food in the area. Went for a work lunch and the food came out fast and delicious.
10/10. I've had the Khao Moo Dang twice inside and once for to-go, delicious each time. No complaints. Tried the Green Curry with Chicken. Deliciousssss, nooo complaintssss. Same with the the Khao Soi! I have enjoyed everything I've tried
Food is very fresh and delicious especially the pho and buns
Great little Thai place. We all ordered Pho and it was really good. Great service and affordable meals.
The service was very polite and kind. The server was originally from northern Thailand, known for its famous dish, Khao Soi—a chicken curry served with noodles (typically eggs noodles). Today, I ordered green curry with rice vermicelli noodles, a common dish in Thailand that can also be enjoyed with jasmine rice. The restaurant did an excellent job with the meal, and I look forward to trying more dishes, especially the Khao Soi. Additionally, the restaurant offers a discount to military members.
Favorite place to eat in Sumter!! Always so fresh!!
The food was amazing I loved everything about it. The staff was super friendly I would recommend this to anyone who loves tai. Definitely a place to get great service and great food.
So far I've had the bahn mi sandwich and curry noodles. I've been happy with what I had.
Great pho and macarons!
Simple little place, but good food. Portions are rather large too. The price was very reasonable for what we got.
UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! Give this place another try if you’ve been before!
Please disregard any negative reviews, this place has turned around for the better!
I’d eaten here three times before and it was in the alright-good range but last week I decided to give them another try! I was treated at the front desk by a new face, the new owner!
She listed some of the recent menu changes and told me how she has improved the quality of other items. I tried the banh mi classic, the bread was crispier and fresher with larger cuts of meat!
My husband got the khao moo dang, larger portion and higher quality meat! You can’t beat her cooking!
The subs are amazing! Full of flavor.
Great food and service👍👍👍👍
I have been on several occasions since they opened. I ordered kao moo dang on this visit, and the pork was very tender. The food was very fresh. I really enjoyed it and will return to try different things. The aesthetics of the restaurant are beautiful. The wall art is marvelous. Will definitely try the banh mi on my next visit.
Food was amazing! Probably my new favorite Thai place in Sumter. Pad Thai isn’t on the menu but I asked and the Chef whipped it right up. It was amazing. Evelyn was a great hostess. Just an all around good place to eat.
The food is so so good! I usually get the chicken pho and it never disappoints. Try the bao as well!
Real this food, real ingredients, real cooking passion in every entree
One of the best international cousins in Sumter. I enjoy not just the food but the undiluted culture that comes with it. And then the warm welcome and joy used in welcoming the customers. It's more than just a restaurant, it's a cultural display center. I would love to visit again.
I got the chicken pho and a sweet tea. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I will be back to try their other dishes.
Me and the wife was really looking forward to this place opening but once we came and try for ourselves we were greatly disappointed. We got a pho, curry, two buns, and two drinks, all added up to 50$ and the portions were incredibly small for the price. And of course not to mention that the flavor of everything was horrendous. As a Vietnamese person, calling whatever they had as pho is an insult. I know this all seems quite harsh when the subject matter is just food, but this all felt like a gimmick geared towards a community that doesn't know better.
I’ve been wanting to try this place since they opened. I came on a Saturday night around 6 pm and it wasn’t busy at all. The inside was neat and clean. I love the decor and overall atmosphere of the place. The young lady at the cash register was super nice and helpful. I ordered the bbq pork Banh mi and it was delicious. I will definitely be back and try other things on the menu.
Super awesome! The food was great, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was great. Loved the paintings on the walls. Thanks!
Been to this place 3 times in the past week. Pho is soooo good. They even have Maine lobster tail pho now but I haven't tried it yet. I'm pregnant and have been super craving this place. I don't like the paintings on the walls though, pretty creepy.
Delicious delicious I can’t say enough of this place .. Todya was my first time trying this place out. I am vegan and they have many option's available for me. I ordered papaya salad & veggie pho both were delicious with fresh ingredients. Restaurant was very clean, girl at the counter was knowledgeable about the menu. I will be going back. My favorite restaurant in town for now.
Green curry is SO delicious! Haven't even tried any other main... the sides are delicious too and have all been delicious! Definitely worth trying 👌
Delicious food 😋😋😋😋😋
The staff and owners are always friendly and courteous.
The food is PHENOMENAL!!
Their Thai Tea Boba is fantastic.
My recommended entree is definitely the Khao Moo Dang!!
Definitely not a good place for Pho. It was not very good at all. Very bland broth. The broth was like water with a little salt. I will go back to try something else but the Pho is definitely a no go.
Soon as we walked inside we were greeted by a young man who was very courteous and eager to assist us. I ordered the duck pho and it was really good my daughter only wanted desert she enjoyed the red velvet cake
I absolutely love this restaurant. The food is amazing and flavorful. I love that they always used seasonal veggies in the Pho. Their Thai tea is delicious and all the sweet treats are a great way to end your meal. Whether you eat in or take away the quality is the same. I would 100% recommend this place to everyone.
Overpriced, small portions, and bland food.
Pho didnt taste good at all
Good food, nice workers, great for weekend outings with friends. Great desserts
I love this place, it's honestly such a nice spot in Sumter and the Pho is so good. All of the desserts were super cute too!
What in the canned vegetable soup pho place is this?
My tasted like salty corn water and had canned mixed vegetables in it.. corn, carrots, peas. What!?
The girls at the front were nice.. ig..
The tables were being propped up by stacks of napkins... what?? 😐
My wife and I tried this spot for the first time after seeing it recently open in Sumter. As soon as we walked in, the service was immaculate, and the young woman behind the counter explained everything to us that we had questions about with regard to their food and where it comes from. We ended up ordering two bowls of pho, and, one bowl of curry and then took our seats and it came out extremely quickly. About halfway through our meal, she came over to check on us and we ordered a couple of their baked dumplings which were phenomenal as well. I would 100% recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for something different in the area, they’re tucked away into the corner of a strip mall so I can imagine it’s probably somewhat difficult For them to get foot traffic, but I will definitely be returning with my wife to eat here again in the near future
This was the most blandest Pho (FOOD) I’ve ever tasted. No taste whatsoever. NONE! I didn’t mind the bogus pricing, because I’ll pay good money for good food, but this just wasn’t it for me. I took 1 taste of my food, got up, walked out and drove straight to Thai House for something else.
Great experience overall it was my first time trying cery delicious by the way very great customer service i didn’t know what to try but the young lady at the register was very helpful with helping me decide boba tea was a 1000/10 i tried the thai tea as well as the milk tea
Ordered curry chicken, hardly any meat. I would pass on this.
The cakes!! We were visiting from out of town. We had to come back every day for a cake!
Great place for a taste snack or meal. I loved the pho as it was refreshing. Desserts are beyond the best. I very well enjoyed my meal.
This was not long after they opened, so still figuring some things out I hope. I really want to love this place. I got spoiled by the other place in town, which is what I measure other places to. I was hoping this place would be comparable, but it's not there yet. It is definitely worth trying for yourself and making your own assessment.
Staff is VERY friendly.
Atmosphere is happy and pleasant.
Food is ok. Not exceptional.
Dishes were Sunday special, fresh rolls, mango salad, Friday special - green curry.
Something is missing in terms of flavor, maybe acid, maybe more spices, maybe fish sauce, or lime leaves, or lemongrass, or salt?.
I understand that they are intending to do healthy food, but a little salt goes a long way to enhance flavor.
Condiment tray was not available
None of the dishes had the depth of flavor or brightness that I was expecting.
Mango salad was served on iceberg lettuce and was missing herbs and acid.
Sunday special tasted fine, but was not served hot and requested that it be reheated, also had no garnish.
Green curry was VERY watery, and had heat, but flavor balance was off...green curry flavor/heat ratio. It had big pieces of Thai basil cooked in it, but was not served with any fresh lime or herbs.
Fresh rolls were fine, and sauce was good, but again no herbs and they fell apart.
Didn't try any dessert or Bai or dumplings.
Overpriced and not very tasty. Service was ok.
Compared to the other place in town, the pho broth was super bland. It tasted like chicken broth from a can...not deep, rich bone broth like I'm used to. Disappointed.
The atmosphere is authentic, the employees are so courteous and professional. The food is fresh and flavorful. I got the green curry & my husband got the chicken pho (pictured) and it was the best Thai food ive ever had. I highly recommend to come here if you want to impress someone. The prices are reasonable and made to order. So much value in such a quaint place!!! 5 Stars!!!! Truly the best that Sumter has to offer.
An absolutely beautiful place and family owned restaurant. The food came quickly along with our drinks. Both me and my friend just couldn't stop talking about how delicious it was. The interior design was ADORABLE! Absolutely love the hand painted wall decor. And the desserts? Delicious AND hand-made. The family is also so nice. I'd reccomend you to definitely go. Especially if you want a bit of change to your dining palette.
So good and delicious! The pork buns were so yummy I’m glad I didn’t just get one! Had the Thai green curry and just the smell alone had my mouth watering. It was cooked perfectly and exploded with flavor! Mine and my husbands new fav spot! Oh and try the Japanese cheese cake I highly recommend!
Agree with some of the other reviews on food quality. The Pho was way too bland and I suspect the broth was not made correctly. There is an art to making a good Pho and this place is a miss. Staff are friendly but we go there for good food. Recommend you skip this place altogether.
I came here with my daughter and absolutely loved the food! The interior was beautiful and the shumai was the best I’ve ever had! Definitely recommend
Staff was very nice, the interior designs were pretty mediocre but most of the tables were a little dirty. I love Pho, but it’s pretty mid. If you haven’t had Pho in awhile then definitely eat here. Bakery was really amazing and the milk tea could be better and the boba pearls could be sweeter and more chewy. I’m one of the few Asians here 👍🏽
- everything was bland
- overpriced for how bland it was
- expected it to be good due to all the reviews but I’ve come to realize that people just haven’t had good pho or bahn mi around here. disappointed is an understatement
I had high expectations...I got a Pho noodles beef bowl. It lacked any flavor. Except cilantro. My Lord it had that. If you like cilantro soup...try it out.
One of the best Asian restaurants in SC! It’s on the smaller side which I can see causing a wait during rush hours. But to my surprise, they were able to manage the line efficiently and our food came out pretty fast. The ambiance is nice and cozy with fun paintings on the walls representing Thai culture. Plenty of seatings and kids friendly. The menu is nicely done - they focus on soups, salads and Vietnamese sandwiches but they also offer a special Thai dish that they rotate each day.
For appetizer, we had papaya salad and shumai (steam dumplings). Both were tasty and authentic. For main, we had roasted duck noodle soup. It’s a 10! The broth was so flavorful and the duck was delicious. It’s really hard to find a place that offers roasted duck noodle soup in SC and do it right (not greasy/ not salty, not gamey), so I would highly recommend trying this dish. The size was generous, too. Today’s special dish was Khao Mun Gai, poached chicken over rice. We wanted to try it so bad but we got so full so we ordered it to take home and it’s also a 10! Even after reheating, the chicken was still so tender. The rice was well seasoned and it also came with a soup that complimented the dish.
They also have Asian desserts! We tried Japanese cheesecake (souffle style cheesecake). It was on point! Not too sweet, fluffy, super soft and airy. We also ordered a crepe cake to take home with Thai coffee. Everything was delicious and the prices were great. We can’t wait to come back and try everything on the menu!
My husband had the shrimp pho and I had the chicken pho. Both were excellent!
Amazing service and atmosphere and the food was wonderful
It was amazing. The food, the atmosphere, service, everything. The workers were nice and the food was delicious. I loved all the art on the walls, you could tell someone put a lot of hard work and time into them. Overall 5/5 experience.
Sooo delicious! I got the vegetable pho, brown sugar milk tea, and Japanese cheesecake! I enjoyed everything and the service was lovely! Such a great place!
The Báhn Mì was incredible. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and was very affordable as well. The staff was very kind and friendly. 10/10!
Food was delicious, maybe a bit small in portion size but they have desserts and steam buns to cover that! They do add all the sprouts, basil, cilantro, etc in to your pho by default so be aware of that if you're picky about it! But flavor wise this place knocks it out of the park!
The food was great and the menu is not cluttered with junk. But they are very under staffed. The line was out the door. The biggest wait time is waiting to order. I would wait at least a couple weeks before coming back here since they did just open up today.
