A menu featuring gourmet Thai dishes in an elevated dining room with modern interior details.
My wife and I had the pleasure of dining for our 9 year wedding anniversary at Bodhi Thai restaurant. What an excellent experience from the welcoming hostess who placed us in a nice corner for privacy to the attentive and considerate server Danté. Having helped my wife and I choose each and every part of our meal Danté was knowledgeable about everything on the menu with personal recommendations that we enjoyed. Thank you for allowing us into your kitchen Chef! Truly a special place that has blessed Lexington with some of the finest cuisine and service in the state of South Carolina. Don't miss out on this gem of a restaurant
A new favorite of mine in Lexington! I loved everything about my experience at Bodhi Thai. I went during lunchtime on the weekend and made a reservation prior. From walking in and until we left, the staff was very courteous and helpful, including our waiter, Caleb. The food was well seasoned and delicious. I ordered the Toong Tong (fried wontons), Kai Yang (skewered chicken), Pad Ki Mao Drunken Noodles with chicken, and a Thai tea. I was more than satisfied with the taste and flavor, and the portion size was decent. My Thai tea was also sweetened just right and was not watery at all. Everything was impeccable—the food, service, and ambience. My only regret is that I waited so long to go here!
Bodhi is amazing! The food is delicious but the staff really make the experience! I wouldn't expect to find fine dining in Lexington but this is hands down the best Thai food I've had. Every dish was delicious and beautiful. Chef Nivit is also the most down to earth and welcoming head chef/owner I've ever had the pleasure to meet.
The sea bass is rivaled only by that I've had in Costa Rica but if you're dining with two or more get whatever the special is too; you won't be disappointed.
No dinner is complete without dessert but since we couldn't decide we tried all options and all were amazing; don't skip this last course.
Believe me when I say this is easily one of my favorite meals I’ve ever had in the Columbia/Lexington area. The appetizers were delicate and delicious, the entrees complex in flavor and beautifully presented. Dessert was a coconut crème brûlée with mango gelato, incredible. Service was prompt and handled with care.
I can not recommend Bodhi Thai highly enough,
Really enjoyed coming here for lunch. Even though this type of restaurant is not typically my go to, the food was great. The staff was extremely friendly and quick to ask if there was anything we needed. The food has a very high end feel while still being affordable. I would definitely visit this restaurant again to try new things.
Visited for the first time with my partner. The ambience is unique as it used to be a bank. You can see the vault where they keep the wine. Very romantic and intimate. Service staff were attentive without being over bearing. The food was delicious. We got the chicken Toon tong for apps, brussell sprouts for side, sea bass, and coconut creme brûlée for dessert. Everything was delicious and well seasoned. They also tailored to our spice level and the Thai hot was pretty fiery. The first bite of sea bass was unbelievable and I still dream of the perfect sear on that piece of fish. We both can’t wait to return. Definitely worth the price.
When desperately seeking out a good Thai restaurant, we almost avoided this place. Reason being: their website does not load and their menus are outdated online.
Taking a risk to make the hour drive was well worth it.
This restaurant is a bit more intimate and dimly lit, not overly large with a bunch of wasted space. By the time we left there were seven other filled tables and yet we could still hear each other and enjoy our conversation.
We each ordered a beer - tasty and cold.
Toong Tong to share - just order 2 plates for a total of $12/6pieces than $9/4pieces. They are delicious! I do not even like mushrooms and these little things wowed me.
I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice and my partner got the Massaman Curry. Both were flavourful and well prepared.
Having decided from the get go to go all out, we also ordered dessert and coffees.
The Coconut Cream Crème Brûlée with raspberry sorbet was good - not my favourite. The crème brûlée had a weird texture.
We both got iced Thai coffees - just know this is sickeningly sweet. I did not like it.
The big bummer to this place was the menu in restaurant had not been updated either. The crème brûlée stated it would have Thai tea gelato and it did not. Also the beer menu was not updated.
Despite the menu discrepancies and subpar dessert, the appetiser and main meals make this a place to return to.
Duck and pork belly entrees were amazing with a side of jasmine rice and brussel sprouts. Excellent cocktails as well.
Great service and outstanding food!
Just had lunch there, my first visit. This place feels very big city, the food and service are stellar.
Very upscale feel without the upscale price. I felt like I was somebody. I went by myself for my birthday. They did not know it was my birthday. The service was very tentative helpful and I felt special. The young lady I booked my reservation was kind and everyone else was too. Very vegan friendly. I plan to go back soon!!!
Update:
To Chef Nivit, what you have built is deliciously beautiful. Once again I enjoyed my visit and experience! Highly recommend. Able to make all dishes vegan.
They need to change the menu more frequently. Selections are very limited and rarely change.
Ordered the pineapple fried rice for lunch. The beef was literally rotting. It was rancid. Smelled and tasted horrible. For both of our beef dishes. Really pathetic. It is standard practice to smell your meat before you cook it when you are cooking for other people.
I'm giving it three stars for the food. We were on the verge of leaving after witnessing the server become really ill and handling food, but we stayed because the staff informed us that the server was leaving. Don't risk or force your unwell employees to work! Customers are also at risk!
Very good food. They have decreased their prices since my last visit. Great decor and looking forward to returning back there soon for more business lunches
Service and ambiance are amazing. Food and presentation outstanding. The best dining experience in all of Lexington.
I went to Bodhi for lunch and ordered the three appetizers and chicken pad thai. All three appetizers were phenomenal, the Toong Tong was absolutely delicious. I could eat that until I pass out. The pad thai was really good, one of the best ones I've had. I cannot complement the food enough.
The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Never annoyed when we asked questions or suggestions. I will definitely be back. Now I want to check out this dinner menu!
Was recommended this place and I’m so thankful. First time today during lunch (11/19/2024) and it was the best experience. Starting from a very welcoming sweet hostess to the most attentive pleasant server I've ever had, topping it off to the best pad thai I've had than any other restaurant. If any other review says otherwise they don’t appreciate authentic Thai cuisine or are just lying. ALL staff is amazing. We will be back!!!
Worst service ever. This restaurant has great reviews and I was craving Thai food. I recommended this restaurant for our team lunch and ordered 4 pad thai on the phone.
The hostess informed me it would take about 20 minutes to be prepared. Fast forward, it ended up taking 40 minutes for 4 pad thai and the hostess had an attitude when I made a complaint about waiting time.
I asked for a manager, who was not there at the moment and she did not apologize for the longer wait time until I received food.
Also, when I asked her about estimated additional waiting time, she told me she did not know and she don't even try to check with a chief. There was THREE different person working inside of kitchen and I was like... what...?? Usually, 4 pad thai takes 20-25 minutes and I already waited 30 minutes at that time.
I worked in a restaurant before and my grandfather owned a Michelin star restaurant in his hometown. I have been to many different Thai restaurants in different states and countries. So I know what the proper manner is when a restaurant makes mistakes and the average prep time for pad thai.
However, the attitude of the hostess was far from the proper restaurant staff manner. Also, they gave me an eggshell inside of food instead extra lime that I ordered on the phone.
I will never come back here and my colleagues will not come back, we were very upset that we had only 20 minutes to finish our food instead of 40 minutes and the eggshells in our food.
Thank you so much for the such an amazing experience and a great lesson. Your staff clearly shows that the owner of the restaurant does not value about to-go order customer's time.
Exquisite taste, the flavors that my palate needed
Great dinner.
Bodhi Thai never disappoints. Attentive service, pleasant quiet atmosphere, and outstanding food.
FYI
Stopped by today for lunch and there is a sign on the door that they will be closed Tuesdays through the rest of October?
Regrettably, this is not the first time they've made a spur of the moment change with zero updates to their website or Facebook. Very annoying
Amazing meal and service. We'll be back!
The absolute best pad Thai I have ever had. This is not your traditional mom and pop Thai food. This is contemporary fusion at its finest.
Lexington South Carolina is very blessed to have a restaurant like Bodhi. Talented chef and kitchen staff. Wonderful waiting staff and always a nice hostess.
My wife and I had the pleasure of dining for our 9 year wedding anniversary at Bodhi Thai restaurant. Place is good but not great like it used to be. Not sure what has happened but the quality is not as good as it used to be. Still very good. Pad Thai is the best, but it's ONLY for lunch. I don't recommend for dinner
Believe me when I say this is easily one of my favorite meals I’ve ever had in the Columbia/Lexington area. The appetizers were delicate and delicious, the entrees complex in flavor and beautifully presented. Dessert was a coconut crème brûlée with mango gelato, incredible. I can not recommend Bodhi Thai highly enough,
This food is amazing! We had the duck curry and a seafood noodle dish and both were phenomenal. We also sampled the potato bisque which was to die for. This is a very elegant eating experience and it was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary!
food was incredible. everything i had was delicious. i doubt there is a bad item on the menu. well done

Could be good. Who knows? They don't answer their phone for reservations.

The quality and quantity of the food for the price is not worth a return for dinner. I hear lunch is a different experience. Beautiful dining experience and excellent service but do not go to dinner without looking at their very limited menu.
Really enjoyed coming here for lunch. Even though this type of restaurant is not typically my go to, the food was great. The staff was extremely friendly and quick to ask if there was anything we needed. The food has a very high end feel while still being affordable. This is our new favorite place!!
Went here 2 weeks ago and we can’t wait to go back. The food was delicious! Gorgeous inside. Easy to talk and hear company. Flavors of the food are amazing.
Thank you so much Caleb for all your help with the menu selections. This looks like a fantastic place for a romantic night out with your significant other. Dinner looks amazing. We will be back to try your lunch menu though. Great atmosphere! Loved the experience.
A few years ago, I ordered several times from here to my hotel room. A good selection and it was all yummy. It must have changed hands. Finally talked my husband into trying it, so we went in. My food was cold. Small menu. Trying to be fancy, but didn't seem very Thai. Refills weren't made to my water. Just a bleh experience.
We’ve been here twice now, and the food and service is outstanding! If you’re considering going, just go.

Delicious food as always. Our server tonight was Joe and he was super friendly and helpful, and all his recs were delicious. Great experience for date night!
Fantastic food and dining experience
Exceeded my expectation and reminds me of fantastic foods in NYC. Wonderful experience.
The waiter was very talkative about the house special, but failed to share that they were out of one of the main items people would want. He seem to be offended when he was called out and my food was burnt to dust almost when he brought it out. Two other gentleman had the same meal and were able to enjoy it completely. The waiter gave no excuse, apologies or condolences. So, the moral of this experience is, I won't be returning. True Story!
I will be returning. Our food was delicious! The restaurant is small yet beautiful. Our server could have been better. Overall, a great restaurant and good! The chef is very talented!
I think I will dream of the chef special Khao Soi I had tonight (3/8/24) for the rest of my life. I’ve been meaning to check out this restaurant and I’m glad I finally did. Thank you and I can’t wait to come back.
Very good restaurant, very pricey smaller portions but still the quality is fine dining and always worth the money!
27 FEB 2024 update: again this place is not a joke! The flavor, texture and spice is exactly on point! No other restaurant in the area has a dedicated chef which develops such wonderful dishes!
My new favorite restaurant in the Lexington area! Limited menu but will not disappoint! Best curry I’ve had to this date.
I really enjoyed it. For an upscale place, this is it.
Great food and great staff highly recommend
Great authentic Thai food!! Tops Dallas and Jersey. Can't wait to try the whole menu.
The waiter was really friendly. The food was excellent. You can order your meal, no spice , a little spice, or hot.
First visit. Had exceptional lunch. Tyler was helpful in explaining featured items and recommendations. Food came out hot (temperature) and ample portions. Reasonable food prices, Bar prices a bit high. Plan to visit again.
First time but will definitely be back. Loved it!! Or sever kaleb was great!
Everything about this place was amazing. They treat you right and the food was 10/10. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend!
Simply put, the best Thai food, and some of the best tasting food, I've been had, at any price point in any city. Super complex and memorable flavors on everything I've had here. The decor is elevated, the staff as been extremely well trained in my experience. Tbh the price point should probably be higher given the level of cuisine execution, atmosphere and service but I'm definitely not complaining. I've eaten here several times and have always had an excellent meal (consistently great) and great service... Parking is a bit of a pain but that's Lexington for you.
I'm a Thai food fanatic and this place is legit. I am reviewing after 1 visit so far and plan to go back asap. My review is for lunch so far as I haven't been able to do dinner yet and really really want to as the dinner menu intrigues me. I always order Pad Thai as a measuring stick on my first visit to any Thai restaurant that offers it. This is in my top 3 pad Thais along with Little Bee and Pons in Asheville NC. I'm looking forward to returning to try the Drunken Noodlesans see what Thai spicy is here as well as some dinner options. So far, this is definitely getting 5 stars from me.
Beautiful dining atmosphere, attentive staff, delicious food, very fair price
Highly recommend
It was my first time there as a Christmas outing, and it was phenomenal! Everyone's food was perfect, and atmosphere was AWESOME! Def a hidden gem in Lexington! Reservations probably recommended!
Fabulous. One of Cola's metropolitan area's finest. Second time I went, and just as consistent and beautiful as the first. Definitely blew the minds off of me and my family's deep experience with Asian cuisine.
Starting off with the service. This was on par with what you expect. Everyone is respectful, they take away your plates, have a great understanding of each and every item on the menu. Great recommendations given a specific taste profile for the big trio: the Apps, the entrees, the cocktails. Absolutely 5 star service.
With our cocktail, it was beautiful. It was a Pina Colada esque drink called the Italicus Colada. Incredibly creamy and refreshing, which a nice bite of the dried pineapple to compliment the taste profile, just like you were sitting underneath the tropic sky!
The appetizer we gotten was the Tuong Tong, and it featured three little special baggies of delicious juicy crunchy fillings. Absolutely unbelievable. The entree we had gotten were the duck and the crab. Both dishes and every single little edible morsel on these plates were absolutely divine. It's beyond unbelievable. The duck was incredibly tender, noodles perfectly cooked, good blend of vegetables and spices and very very well seasoned to have the burst of flavor that most restaurants envy to have. For my entree, I had the crab. The soft-shell crab was nicely seasoned with a edible shell that was fried crisp, with the absolutely divine pickled celery within the radish puree. Geez, it's been almost a month yet I still remember that distinct punch of flavor.
Seriously, if you have yet to take your date here, and are looking to elevate the culinary experience, you shouldn't hesitate and put this one on the list. They are a bit pricey, but for the experience that you may get, it is definitely a bargain considering that the flavors will be that 11/10 or that 12/10 you're looking for to make your special night!
The portion of foods is really for cats not people .
Everything was absolutely delicious. I got the special which was short ribs, seared scallops, carrots, peppers with a sweet potato puree. The plating was beautiful as it was tasteful. The service was second to none. The atmosphere is relaxed and well lit, but quiet so you can hear the people you are with well. Highly recommend going here for a special night out. We will be back.
Attentive wait staff! Great food! Wonderful dining experience!
A friend and I attempted to dine here and had a not so great experience. We had both dined here in the past, so we knew the quality generally is very exceptional. Approx 5 mins to be seated, after 20 min water and waiter never arrived. 21 min we walked out. The restaurant was not full. I’m not sure if it was a staff shortage or what, but it was odd.
I have loved Bodhi for years and just realized eating there last night I've never left a review. Joe is my absolute favorite server, I tend to order the special when they have one. Last night I had two thai white Russians, the thong tong and Tom gai soup for appetizer and the special which was a 12 Oz braised beef rib and scallops 😋😋 the food is incredible and makes me feel like I live in a big city again. We are so lucky to have chef here! Make reservations! Not a place I would take kids or want to see kids while I'm eating, at least small ones.
We have visited this establishment twice with a couple of months in between and both times were amazing! We tried several appetizers, the sweet ribs are my favorite but they have such an awesome selection everything on the appetizers menu is excellent choice. My wife throughly enjoys the chicken , and both times I’ve tried their specials. The steak is to die for. However do pay attention when they ask you about your spice levels they can go from mild to volcanic real quick lol. Would give this place and its owners and workers a 10 star review if I could.
We sat down at 12:05 with a party of 12 and got our food at 1:10.
Once it finally arrived it was excellent, though the portions are a little small for the price, even at lunch.
Bodhi Thai was an excellent choice for trying something new. The atmosphere is a little more upscale and a bit chic - but I did not feel uncomfortable in jeans and a nice shirt. The food was delicious and the chef was kind enough to send out a soup sampling to our table as well. The plates were beautiful in presentation and a treat to look at but the real joy was in the tasting! We enjoyed scallops, sea bass, soups, dessert and more! Take a look at a couple of our servings.
Update: Food was excellent again on our most recent visit! Seafood pasta was delicious and the pork chop special went over very well. The sides to the special were a true highlight! Dessert was a creme brule with ice cream and berries and also a shaved ice dish with exotic fruits (cannot remember the name of the dish). Both were truly worth amazing!
I must say though. I did miss the papaya salad as it was not on the menu. It was so good the first time I had it, I even tried to make it at home. Let's just say mine didn't even come close. 😁
Excellent.
One of the best places in Lexington SC.
Very intimate atmosphere, calm and tranquil. Food is amazing. Everything I've had is phenomenal. You will shell out some money here, but it's fine dining. Great for special occasions. Lunch is a lot less expensive here. Service was top notch and professional.
Always outstanding. Chef Nivit does a fantastic job.
My fiancé and I had a date night here and was completely mind blown! The atmosphere is very quiet and calming so it was easy to talk to one another. The food was absolutely delicious, (best food I've ever had at a restaurant) we are still talking about it two days later. Caleb was our server and he was incredible and very attentive and personable. We will definitely be back!
Peace & Bliss Beautiful Humans,
Bodhi Thai is one of the finest 5 star dining experiences in Lexington SC. The dining experience is intimate & sexy. It feels like you're out dining in New York or Philadelphia; it has a very classy feeling. My partner & I thoroughly enjoyed our crispy duck, steak, pineapple fried rice, appetizers, & cocktails. They even made mocktails for me. If you want to impress your date, spouse, or significant other. This is the place.
Note:
1. MAKE RESERVATIONS IN ADVANCE; be prepared to leave a credit card.
2. If you must cancel, please do so; they are extremely popular.
3. Do take the opportunity to get dressed.
4. Enjoy yourselves; I know you will.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had! Scallop special, duck entree, and fried chicken wonton appetizer were all exceptional. Phenomenal dessert array as well. Will definitely be back as soon as possible!
Great dining experience. We arrived early and had a couple drinks at the bar. They have a great selection of fine spirits.
The food was amazing . We tried the wonton fried prawn cake to start . Great presentation and flavors.
For the entrees, we went with the fillet mignon + pineapple fried rice and the scallops. The fillet had carrot and rutabaga purée and it was amazing .
We also tried the bacon jalapeño sorbet and it was an incredible mix of different flavors. Perfectly balanced
Pricey but worth every cent
The food coming out of that bank vault.... National treasure. I had the chicken with massaman curry sauce. Wonderful!
Got the green curry, ribs and wontons. All were incredible but the green curry steals the show. Amazing flavor, fresh eggplant and peppers, a must try. Awesome lunch deals. A must try for any fans of thai and delicious foods.
Wonderful food experience!
This is a really good restaurant.
This was our 1st time at Bodhi and everything was amazing! From the drinks to appetizer, to the main course... Food was a 10 out of 10. Food was on point... and the presentation of the food was beautiful... like a piece of art! Chef you are very talented!! Our sever Caleb is a Rockstar... (there are not enough stars for Caleb... so I give infinite 🌟) he was very professional, knowledgeable, sweet and prompt! Great conversations with both Caleb and Daniel.... you both are amazing and Bodhi is very blessed to have you as a part of their family/team. An experience we will not forget! We will definitely be back!
No service. Made reservations for dinner on a Friday night. Showed up and it wasn’t that busy. Plenty of staff serving other tables and chatting and making small talk. None of the staff were really moving around like there was any rush and the light crowd reflected that.
We waited 20 minutes and nobody had even approached our table to ask if we wanted anything to drink or eat.
We ended up just walking out. Can’t grade the food or drink because I was never offered any. I chose this place because of the good reviews, but it seems like they let a few slip through the cracks.
Daniel and Caleb were nice servers. The sweet and sour dish was quite tasty.
Best food hands down. Loved everything from the appetizer to the soup to the pork belly. Service was amazing!
We had such a perfect experience! Caleb was our server and he was so delightful & knowledgable! The food was incredible.
Best Thai food, hands down!
The menu is as small as the portions, it is a lot of $$$$$, and you walk away hungry. If you’re trying to impress a date, then go here, but us married folk that are past that stage, we want a good amount of food for the price we pay. Now, don’t get me wrong…the food was good, but I’m fat and eat a lot. We were trying to not have to cook tonight, and we had to finish off the evening with Taco Bell.
Food and service is always EXCELLENT. Best Thai food in the area, comparable to NJ/NY metro area for certain. Tyler our waiter was amazing too!!
As soon as we walked in we were turned off. I have had this on my “want to try” list for years and was very excited to finally get to try it. We walk in and a women walks up and rudely says do you have a reservation? Mind you the restaurant was a ghost town. I said no and she said she’d have to check if she could take us. She sat us all the way in the back by the kitchen and sadly was also our waitress. She was so snobby it made us feel very unwelcome. I do have an infant and am not sure if that’s the reason we were treated so rudely. I would give 4 stars for the food but wouldn’t go back bc of our waitress. Highly recommend the Thai tea, Butterfly Citron and the appetizer ribs
Great atmosphere fine dining at its best.
I was recently visiting family in Columbia and had the wonderful pleasure of going to Bodhi. All I can say is WOW. We started with 4 different appetizers 2 different soups, the ribs and shrimp cakes and they wee all delicious. Then we had the Chilean Sea Bass, duck and the chicken entrees. I of course had to taste everyones and wish I had room to eat all of them. Beautiful presentation as well. Very comfortable atmosphere and great service as well. Wish I lived close enough to go here more often
Atmosphere is great. Perfect for a cute intimate date. The Thai tea was great. Ate the mushroom and ginger stir fry, AMAZING. Very impressed
I gave food, service and atmosphere 5 stars....because the ambiance is nice and service was great. But only 4 stars overall because as great as the food was it was a bit pricey for the small portions they plate. Drinks are also delicious however very pricey as well.
Second time we've been here for lunch and loved it again! Want to come back for dinner sometime! Appetizers were great (but a bit small) and our lunch entree's were fresh and delicious :)
Bodhi Thai is beautifully decorated and a most pleasant venue for dining. Food was spectacular and service was excellent. Highly recommended!
Bodhi Thai Dining
Oh. My!!!! God!!!! The food was amazing. I ordered the Green Curry, Thai hot, and got a beautiful dish full of fresh veggies and heavenly tasting sauce. The rice was just a bit overcooked for my taste, but did not detract at all from the curry. It. Was. That. Good!!!! My friend had the Pad Thai with shrimp and she loved it as well. The ambience is fabulous, and has a very private feeling. Our waitress was ready to provide recommendations when asked. Traffic in the area is a pain in the ----, but parking was manageable. There was handicap parking, but I did not see a wheelchair accessible entrance (maybe I just missed it). All in all, I highly recommend this place.
This place rocks
This is a fine dining experience. It's the perfect kind of place for a special date night. The food is awesome and the service is refined. You will need to know which fork goes with which course.
Every single thing we've ever gotten here was delicious!! The service is impeccable and the atmosphere is always calm and romantic. We have had many dates nights here. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Such a friendly staff, food is superior taste and presentation
Wife and I had a great meal and great service
The food and service was phenomenal! This is by far the best Thai place that I’ve had in the Columbia and Lexington area! The food was fresh and hot! I savored each bite of my entree! I loved it here and I will definitely be back! Finally a place I can spend my money, and not feel as if my food at home would have taste 10 times better.
The braised pork ribs are absolutely amazing great food honestly! Anyone who gives a bad review for this place doesn't know a thing about food! The atmosphere is very well decorated. The waiters are professional and give you good advice on what to get. The meat literally falls of the bone not to mention the tears of a baby dolphin!
Superb food, very nice inside. Probably the best place to eat I’ve found in the area. Just wish I’d discovered it earlier, would have returned many times.
Excellent lunch with wife. Chose the bar for a quick and quiet lunch. Enjoyed braised rib for an appetizer. Our main course was shrimp fried rice and pad thai chicken. Our food was mild or no seasoning; however, you can get it as hot as you like. Chef Nevit is excellent to watch and his dishes are so delicious. The staff are very nice, conscientious and efficient. Overall an excellent experience. We will be back!
The service here is top notch. Our waiter never let our waters go empty or even halfway. After our large party all got our food, he would thoughtfully ask if we wanted it boxed up once it looked like we were finished. The lunch portions are reasonably sized, and the tastes were pretty good! I got the Pad Thai and my sister got the Sticky Noodles. My friends enjoyed the pineapple sticky rice and the red and green curry. I’ve been told that there is a completely different menu for dinner, so I’m excited to come back and experience that!
I had this place saved to my "food" list on Google Maps. So, while we were in the area picking up something from Facebook marketplace, I decided to drop in. We were dressed in our finest "thrifting" clothes sweatpants/pants, t-shirts... Upon entering, what I expected from the exterior was validated... It was a bit fancier than most things I have saved on my map :) Regardless, we were welcomed with smiles and promptly seated.
Our server Wendy was very friendly and expert in the execution of her duties. We've had plenty of Thai food before, but as the arrangement of these dishes were a bit different, she was invaluable in explaining what everything was and setting us up to devour every last morsel.
The chef sent out some of the most attractive and tasty food I've had the pleasure to consume. There were so many textures, colors, and flavors. In particular I loved the plum sauce that came with the pork belly.
As I've seen mentioned in another review, this would be a great place to have a nice romantic meal, the atmosphere/ambiance is palpable. I will definitely be moving this to my favorites list!
Best restaurant in the area. Lunch has more traditional dishes such as curries or noodles while the dinner menu is more chef-inspired. You cant go wrong, I love this restaurant, its a blessing for Lexington to have Bodhi Thai!!
Great authentic Thai food with awesome service
The best restaurant in Lexington! Great for a date nights.
Such a nice, intimate atmosphere with GREAT food. Will definitely be visiting again!
We have been trying to go here for a while. We love going to soda city Market for the Thai food and the staff at the booth kept telling us we had to try bodhi!!! So we finally did yasss!!!! We loved the food, the environment was ok, we dressed up for it as the etiquette but some people were not so we wished we were told about casual attire, anyways we had THE best server we have had for a while, Dante was knowledgeable, easy going, friendly, Respectful, funny and so easy to talk to, he made our experience way better! He was so attentive to our needs, Do not let this guy go! He is gold! Food was fantastic, amazing chef! We are used to Thai food buy this is BEYOND ELEVATED dining! You gotta try it. We are definitely coming back
There are no $12.99 noodles here! I don't venture to Lexington often, so this place was not on my radar. Decided on a whim to go for my birthday dinner. The service was great; attentive, knowledgeable, thoughtful. We ordered a little bit of everything off the menu, including several appetizers, soups, cocktails, and one of each dessert offered. I consider myself a tom ka connoisseur (lol), and this place is doing it right. After all was said and done, my husband and I had spent about $200. The food and experience together is worth it. This might not be a place you'd go to often due to the nature of the small/limited menu (only 4 entrees,) but we will definitely return.
Bodhi is the brain child of Chef Nivit. He is from Thailand with formal training classical French food. He has successfully infused the bold flavors of the South East Asia with the culinary delicacy of French cuisine. We went there for my Birthday and everything we ordered was amazing. I really didn't have any negative comment about the food. I would have wanted a little bit more light in the dining area as it was very muted. Overall a fantastic experience and we would definitely visit again.
This is not real Thai food and food is bad and too expensive
Alright honest review start to finish of experience:
Walked in Friday 5 pm (didn’t know we needed a reservation)
Walk in to a lady with short hair and glasses and she was on the phone was SO rude.
If your immediate impression wanted to be a positive one then you should definitely put her in the back. She made us feel like we were garbage.
Your waiter (gentleman) was amazing.
We sit down and ordered the cube bourbon, the most amazing drink I’ve ever had! Such a fun experience.
Ordered the Tod Mun Goong - the best! Crispy and delicious sauce!
Kai Yang - chicken was okay, pretty basic imo, the sauce and sticky rice was great!
Tom Kha soup- really good but missing spice I ordered medium, also needs more lime, more flavor, not what I’m used to personally, but still good.
Overall great service, good food but definitely room for improvement. Go check out some street Thai food in California or even Thai restaurants in general, flavors could use some bettering.
Oh Bodhi Thai...you have my heart ❤️. You never disappoint and the food is just an amazing adventure for the palate. The food is crafted with so much care and passion you can taste it. Complimentary broccoli soup, warm and creamy, perfect "comfort food taste". Appetizer (I can't spell it) egg crepe with fried tofu and other yummy things. Main course Chilean Sea Bass with sautéed spinach and rice pilaf accompanied with butternut squash puree and a delicious red Thai curry creation. The bass was cooked medium and melted like butter in your mouth. The sear on the bass was lightly crisped and slowly melted like a crisp divinity candy after the light crunch. Another complimentary treat "Thai Golden Bags" the crispness is addictive. I could eat 10 of these and still not be bored. The crunch is everything. The dessert is coconut creme Brule with housemade Thai tea Gelato. Fresh fruit on the side. The creme Brule had a thin crispy top that was just simply devine, and the warm coconut creme Brule just melted away in your mouth. The Thai tea Gelato was the perfect combo , just sweet enough to compliment but not compete with the Brule. The fresh Thai fruit was an adult version of fruit cocktail. It contained so many exotic fruits I have never tried. It was extremely refreshing and an excellent palate cleanser for a fresh and satisfying meal. Everything the chef creates is made fresh. The details are beyond excellent. The team that works there met every need we had and made sure we never had to ask for anything. It reminds me of the comfort of home but with an luxurious flare. Don't pass by this gem. It is worth your attention.
The best!!!
My coworkers and I had dinner and drinks at the bar this past Thursday and the short and sweet of it is, you absolutely must try this place.
We started with the braised baby back pork ribs. They were cooked perfectly, slid off the bone and had perfect char and the flavor of the whiskey sauce was amazing.
Next we had the chicken satay, it was obviously much lighter than the ribs but also very tasty. The chicken alone is good but the dipping sauce with a little of the sticky rice, followed by the cucumber relish and peanut is the perfect pairing of textures and flavors.
We all ordered different entrees and sampled each of them. I ordered the pork belly and it came out perfect, seasoned and plated beautifully it paired well with the grits and vegetables .
The filet was also cooked a perfect medium rare and delicious. I didn’t try the veggies with it but they looked good.
Last of the entrees I tried was the chicken dish and it was also a great tasting dish, my coworker said he thought the sauce was too sweet but I didn’t mind it one bit.
The accompaniments we had were the pineapple fried rice , Brussels sprouts, and fried cauliflower. All of them were great either the cauliflower being a favorite of the group.
Last but certainly not least was the crème brûlée the fresh berries and mint on top of the light crème with the hard sugary top layer was quite honestly a game changer! Im unsure of the exact flavors in the ice cream on top but it all went so well together that I may just have that as my entree next time lol.
All in all service was on point and sitting next to the kitchen was nice. Seeing how well the kitchen ran without yelling and tons of noise was refreshing since we were seated right next to it. I will 100% be back and I will be telling everyone about this absolutely gem of a restaurant.
Also the chef was super friendly and relatable. It was nice to meet him and hear the stories about his recent trip back to Thailand.
The best and most elevated dining experience in Columbia! The service is unparalleled and the food is most exquisite! This is not your regular run of the mill Thai place, this place is Haute Cuisine! You can tell that they take care of every minute detail, from the delicate service to the intricate dishes and delicious cocktails. I cannot recommend this place enough, you will be transported to a different place with every bite! I have absolutely loved everything I have ever had! The menu is updated seasonally and every new item is just the best explosion of flavors.
This restaurant is run by a real pro.
Parking is a breeze. Atmosphere is inviting. Service is top notch. Food is definitely two steps up from other Thai restaurants in the Columbia area. A real credit to Lexington. 5 Stars
Updated 9/22/2022: Unfortunately, they have dropped their delicious fresh rolls from their menu. Still a rock solid 4+ stars. The best Thai food in Lexington.
Yep. It's worth it. Do it. Lock in your reservation and don't look back.
Superb cuisine, gorgeous ambiance, and friendly staff. Get reservations beforehand, because they fill up quick for dinner, especially on the weekends. So happy to have been able to eat here right after they reopened! We will be coming back again and again.
Love the atmosphere, Lexington needs more of this, BUT it’s definitely a hit or miss when it comes to the food. Ate there at least ten times since it opened. Was there last night, had a filet, beautiful plated food but it had to be the most expensive & flavorless steak I’ve ever had. Disappointing and won’t go back because the quality of food has not been good overall, shame.
Bodhi used to be one of our favorite restaurants. It used to have great service and unique and delicious food. But they recently changed the menu and our last experience was so bad we will probably never go there again. First of all, the service was terrible. We waited for 45 minutes for an appetizer, and our waitress didn’t come to update us for the last 30 minutes of that. When we asked her for an update, she was very rude. We understand if the kitchen is busy, but at least update us and be kind about it. Second, the food isn’t as good anymore! They changed the chicken curry- it used to be this amazing, flavorful, large meal. This time they brought out a disgusting looking chicken roll up thing that was so small it was more like an appetizer (i wish i had taken a picture because it literally looked like a frozen dish that you only eat when you’re in a rush to get somewhere and need calories). The soup we got was an incredibly small portion. Also, we were only a party of 6 and they added an automatic 20% gratuity, which we really didn’t appreciate because our server was terrible. Also, the drinks are overpriced and not good enough to be priced that high. So unfortunate they took a downturn. I’m hoping they will change back to how they used to be. If they do, we will be back.
I love everything.
Bodhi Thai Dininig is fantastic and is one dining experience my family highly recommends for anyone that enjoys Thai cuisine or are looking to try it. The atmosphere of the environment is very elegant with nice low lighting and a cozy modern feel that is very comfortable and inviting. The seating and dining tables are sturdy and well spaced out. The parking is a little tricky but if you are on main street passing the restaurant on your left then continue going until the first one way left option and this will wrap you around the back to park in the adjoining parking lot. This is not very clear and could save you from a longer walk from the amphitheater parking lot.
As much as we love the atmosphere and staff, the food is the real hero here and the Thai food offered at Bodhi (from our personal experience) is one of the best in the nation, if not world. We travel quite a bit (international and domestic) and usually get Thai food whenever it is available. After our first visit we have gone back frequently and have tried alot of the menu. We have yet to try anything that has changed our mind from this place being one of the best of the best options around. We just feel blessed that we live by it to come back on a regular basis.
Yes, go try Badhi Thai Dininig and fall in love just like we have this past year. Enjoy!
Amazing! Delicious! Love the food and the Martini's!
Absolutely delicious!!! Wonderful menu and delicious drinks! The staff was also super friendly! Will definitely be back.
Bodhi is absolutely my favorite restaurant in Lexington. Their food and their customer service experience is second to none. Joe (the waiter) is knowledgeable of the menu, friendly and really a great salesman! We have dined with them twice and both experiences were stellar. We will see you again soon and definitely will have the Ribs, Steak and Pad Thai!!! Thank you for a wonderful birthday!!!
The food is absolutely amazing!!! You will love it all! They also have excellent pricing for what they are doing, and if you ask me… they may be a little underpricing themselves. Great location, great dining, amazing food, and the best pricing for the service I have ever seen, I will definitely be coming back to this place!!!
The pad Thai is delish. I also had the fresh brewed Thai cold coffee. Definitely recommend this place.
Everything we ate/drank was amazing. This place was so good that my kids have repeatedly reminded me to post this 5-star review. We have told everyone we know about this place. Highly Recommend!!
We went for our wonderful daughters 28th birthday, her choice because she had been before. She has raved about how good Bodhi Thai is. Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in the restaurant. Jason was our server and he was fantastic!! He took great care of us, made wonderful recommendations, was very attentive without being pushy and was really just a very nice guy. We really enjoyed our time with him and will definitely ask for him the next time we visit. The food is amazing in taste and presentation. This is definitely elevated Thai food and very delicious. The chef takes great care in the preparation and presentation of the food. We had a variety of cocktails, appetizers, soup,
and main dishes and they were all delicious and very unique. You have to try Bodhi Thai for yourself, you won't be disappointed! Take your time and enjoy the whole experience, because this is truly a dining experience. It's not inexpensive but definitely worth every dollar. Lexington is very fortunate to have this restaurant, Chef Nivit and his team right down town in the heart of their city. We are looking forward to our next visit already!
Food was ok. Wine list was terrible...ordered a Pino Grigio that came out unchilled...a red merlot recommended by the wait staff had a vinegar taste...not worth the $240 spent for 2 people. Disappointing. Atmosphere was nice.
From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. Tim the manager made us a table within a minutes time, he spoke so highly of the chef, and even though this was our first time there he made us feel as though we had been there a million times. The host gave us AMAZING food recommendations. Jason who was our waiter made the whole experience though. He was kind, courteous and described the food so beautifully! You will not be disappointed with chefs food either, the roasted duck was to die for! Their trio bowl was a taste of perfection! I could not recommend this place more! It has replaced our regular date night spot! 15/5 stars!
Fantastic experience, great food, great service!
My daughter & I went here for her birthday lunch. Food was hot, fresh & delicious. Highly recommend!
I’m addicted to Bodhi fried rice. You can choose your spice level. It’s a Quaint little place. If reservations show full online I recommend calling to make sure. I got a table & they were not packed. The Thai tea was way to sweet for me. My husband loves the salads. They open up later than other places. If the opened earlier I’d eat there more often.
45 mins to an hour for takeout. The food is good but 2 orders of pad Thai should not take an hr
The best rib I've ever had is here at Bodhi Thai. Please support this restaurant by coming here often. Reservations are recommended.
