Some of the best food on the island, and some of the best Thai food I've tried in the US! Everything I have tried has been very authentic tasting! Even my wife from Thailand says it is the only restaurant around here that reminds her of home.

The whole 3 flavored fish is amazing, as is the papaya salad and tom yum soup. The owners are so kind as well, always coming by to say hello. Love this restaurant!

I'll called the shop owner, a Thai woman, welcomed us very well. She was very sweet. She made a good impression on us from the first time. Excellent care! All the food is beautifully presented, clean, fresh, delicious, and beautiful. I highly recommend you to visit this Thai restaurant in the Hilton Head area!😋😊

As soon as you step in the ambience is chic and inviting, the chef and staff are welcoming, it's easy to order, the process are reasonable, and the dishes are impeccable. Only one word to describe the food, service, and atmosphere: outstanding!

We carried out a year ago and were disappointed, listed items were missing. But we were hungry for Thai so we tried it again. Wonderful! The chicken coconut soup was out of this world. The larb and the drunken noodles are also quite tasty. The food was hot and week seasoned. We will be back.

This Thai restaurant was better than my favorite Thai restaurant back home in Ohio. My goodness! This place is worth coming back many times! I had the Kra Prao (Spicy Basil). AMAZING!

Fair but salty food. Due to saltiness we asked for another bowel of rice. $3.50 for small bowl of rice especially after 2 of us ordered 3 dishes !!!

Curry duck was anazing. Have frequented many Thai restaurants all over the U.S.. they served a generous breast and it was cooked to perfection. My wife’s dish amazing as well. Went back for pad Thai next night. Was good but not as great would highly recommend this restaurant if you love Thai. Little more expensive but worth every penny. It’s on an island so always more expensive in HHI. Been coming 28 years.

If i could give it no stars i would the Food was Cold and they don't give rice with the orders. $30 a plate with no rice.

I have a gluten and shellfish allergy, so it can be a struggle to find food when dinning out. This was THE BEST gluten free food on the island! I had the drunken noodles, fresh spring rolls, and mango sticky rice. I think I'll have it all for lunch again tomorrow. So fresh and delicious!!

I lived in amazing Thailand for 5 years. This is the most authentic and delicious Thai food I've found in the US. The staff are as gentle and gracious as you'll find on the other side of the world. Coming here brought back a flood of beautiful memories. I will definitely be back--both to Thai Smiles, and the country!

I took a group of ladies from Palmetto Dunes to try out this restaurant. We had a wonderful experience. Everyone raved about their food and thought it was very good and almost everyone had to take some home with them. If you’re looking for a great restaurant that serves Thai food, this is a great place to go! Definitely recommended.

Perfect. One of the best thai restaurants

Got a take out order for chicken panang and shrimp pad thai. My wife and I love Thai food and have eaten it all over the country and in Bangkok.
The panang was quite good. We did, however, ask for mild and it was pretty spicy hot. The pad thai was nothing special. Asked for it medium spice and it was quite bland and definitely not hot at all. The portion size was small and I was still hungry when finished. For the entree price it is not a good value at all. I’m used to a much larger portion at a lower price. Overall disappointed in the experience.

We've been disappointed the last few trips to Hilton Head with the Thai food we've had, but this is excellent and tops everything we've had in this area.

I can't eat spicy food, so fair warning that everything we had was mild, but we sampled a variety of dishes and everything was excellent with wonderful flavor.

The server was very friendly and unobtrusive, which is what we prefer when dining out.

This will be a MUST stop on future trips.

Thai Smile exceeded our expectations. Every dish was a win. Started with spring rolls and calamari, both were good and the sauce on the calamari was delicious. The Panang Curry with shrimp was a dish that you would come back for again and again. The Cashew Chicken was a hit with our table as well. The Lab salad was spicy and delicious. Our last dish was Pad Kra Prao with shrimp, also good. We will be bringing all our guests to Thai Smile again.

Great Thai restaurant with unique touch of Thai culture and refined dining experience.

We had a truly excellent meal at Thai Smile last night. The dishes we ate (Drunken Noodle with chicken, Thai Fried Rice with tofu, and Pad Thai) were absolutely delicious - flavorful with the right amount of spice. Our service, provided by the inimitable Na, was attentive and friendly without being overbearing in any way. Na was even kind enough to provide us with some tips for upcoming travel and sent us home with a note to give her friend who lives in the location we'll visit. Additionally, the setting was very unique, particularly for this area: lots of authentic Thai souvenirs and cultural trinkets.

While many restaurants around here have left us unsatisfied, we talked about our meal at Thai Smile for many hours after. We will absolutely return here when we're next in the area.

Absolutely delicious food! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The only word of caution we have is that the portions are quite small for what you pay. Best for small groups. Definitely the best Thai food we have found in the area though. Their menu had good options for vegans and vegetarians as well

Absolutely one of the best Thai Restaurants! Family owned and run. The chef says the menu is made up of meals they serve at home and the quality and love that goes into every dish is evident. We did a small family dinner and the manager and staff made every effort for us to have a wonderful evening of Thai home cooked dishes. A true local gem worthy of a visit. One suggestion is call ahead and check if reservations are busy due to time of year.

Very chill spot for a date night. The lighting is nice, it’s well decorated, and the music was at a perfect low volume.

Thai Tea is a sweet drink, but the Thai Tea here was overly sweet, even for my boyfriend who had a big sweet tooth. The flavors were there and it was an authentic drink, smooth and creamy, as it should, but the sugar was overpowering. It was better as the ice melted and it watered down :).

The calamari was really really flavorful and had the perfect amount of chewiness, coated in a really unique sauce. My only complaint is that it was advertised as crispy calamari, but for what I’m assuming was plating purposes, it was covered in the sauce as opposed to having it on a ramekin on the side which took away the crispness of the dish and also caused the breading to slide off.

I ordered the drunken noodle as my entree and was planning on ordering it on their spiciest level, but my waitress asked if I was sure so I second guessed myself. I asked her if it was american spicy or thai spicy, to which she responded thai. Unfortunately, it was not. I don’t blame her at all, everyone has different spice levels. However the dish didn’t seem to have a hint of spice until I added their chili garlic oil (which was good!). The dish lacked the sweet umami flavor usually in a drunken noodle but the noodles themselves were perfectly cooked and chewy. I got mine with tofu, which I don’t have much to say about.

My boyfriend got the cashew chicken, which was really well done. It was nutty and umami, the chicken was not over cooked and the vegetables it came with went really well with the dish. The rice was a little bit dry, but that’s kind of inevitable when you make big batches of rice in restaurants.

Overall a very good experience :)

Horrible experience. We waited 1 hour for our order at the table, the food did not arrive, so changed the order to “To Go” while my family waited in the car. It took exactly 2 hrs. Almost everyone left. Yes, you will probably get your order in time if you are a belong to their respected race. FYI, we are polite and understanding people and this is what we got. Thanks for the wonderful evening.

And remember, when we pay $25 to $30 per entree in a regular restaurant, the service needs to be excellent, but it was a complete trash!

Update: If you received a large no. of sudden orders, how did the people who came after us all got served before us?

The food is amazing! Each dish is carefully planned and purposeful in how each compliment each other. The portions are large and the tables/layout offers a variation of seating and is inviting. We ate here a few times prior to brining our three sons and their wife/fiancé/girlfriend and had a table in their private room where the wait staff treated us like royalty. We eat a lot of Thai food and this is truly the best on and off island we have experienced.

We came here after a disappointing experience at a different Thai restaurant in the area. Thai Smile is fantastic. The flavors were amazing. They have designated menu items for those with gluten allergies. The owners are so friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our time dining in. We will be back!

Our family’s dishes varied greatly in quality and portion. Pricing is high, check the menu before leaving.

Please be very careful when you order your food, the kitchen made several mistakes with our order for eleven people. A few minor flavor errors, and two impactful food sensitivities. We caught the mistakes and so did our server, but, the food was already on the table.

The chicken satay appetizer was very good, but the portion is smaller for the price. Both dipping sauces on the dish were excellent.

Som Tum was a large portion, but the flavor was off and there was too much fish sauce that overpowered the papaya.

Our beef panang curry was ok, nothing outstanding, simply good as a gluten-free meal option. Our meat was a bit fatty, but soft.

Ba Mii Hang was a unique dish, similar to Pad Thai, but a different flavor and we never received the broth on the side. Please be VERY careful and specify GF for this meal, there are two different noodles used to make this dish, one is GF and the second is not. If you have two fried fish patties and one large wonton on your dish you received the WRONG noodle.

Be mindful of a large group setting, service will be slower if there are only two staff working the floor.

Kids do not complain about their meals, but everything was “good” for them, Thai tea is always a winner.

This is the best Thai food we’ve had since moving to Beaufort. I had the massaman curry and my wife had the Pad Thai. We shared a sticky rice with fresh mango for dessert. Everything was delicious. The service was good. The atmosphere feels upscale.

I’ve lived in several cities that have excellent Thai food (DC, LA, SF, NYC) and I often crave Thai food. I can’t tell you how happy I was to stumble upon Thai Smile! I had the green papaya salad and green curry, both were on par with any place I’ve been to before. My husband and I will definitely be making this a regular place to visit or order take away from.

I will saw the service and resturant is very good. The place is very clean and nicely appointed. However we ordered the calamari which was very tasty. The past thai dinner portion which was normal portion in my opinion. The pad thai was pretty tasteless. No bean sprouts no green onion... we also ordered the som Tom soup it was also pretty tasteless. Cashew chicken was ok. The sauce had the out of the bottle taste. We had water. And one beer. Total came to 68.00 expensive lunch.

Decor is welcoming. Calm & relaxing. Food was delicious! This was my first visit and I regret not getting pics of our dish. Staff is friendly and food is brought out quickly and hot. Very pleasant, I will definitely be returning.

I ate the green curry so quickly that I forgot to take a photo. We moved to Bluffton in June 2021, and I have been craving Thai food. I will be back to Thai Smile Cuisine!!! The curry had big chunks of veggies and the green curry had just enough spice. The Pad Thai was balanced with a sweet sauce and roasted peanuts. Again, the shrimp was cooked perfectly. We ordered take out and the owner was welcoming as I sat at the bar. He and his staff take pride in their restaurant and food, and I loved the decor of the restaurant.

Maybe a bad night. I went to this Resturaunt because of the great reviews.
Upon arrival I was in awe over the amazing interior. Nice bar and varied dinning areas. It even had a cute area with Thai cooking products. All down hill after that…..The Resturaunt was totally empty. So one would think we would get the Best of Service! Our waitress was inattentive. Our food was bad to mediocre. The chicken curry was average. The shrimp and peanut sauce dish was dry and lacking. When asking for extra sauce, the waitress seemed somewhat surly.
We requested separate bills. At the end she refused to separate our bills, claiming the system would not allow it. Over all not a Great experience.

There was a single staff running the bar and restaurant. We waited 90 minutes for a take out even though the promised time was 30 minutes. The food was not worth the wait.

Phenomenal!!! Visiting from Los Angeles and stopped by the Restaurant one afternoon —I can tell you that this place is one of the best, and authentic Thai food I’ve ever had in the states. We moved from Michigan in an area where thai food is in abundance. We have been dying for some good Thai in Bluffton/hhi and there are none. There are some mediocre places but Thai smile is unreal good. We discovered it going to jvz bones and have never looked back. The owner/main cook is Thai and knows how to make it authentic. We aware to the spice levels are no joke, but the flavor is sooooooooooooo good. If you want authentic Thai, head to Thai smile.

Very good experience! We were one of two tables in a pretty and clean atmosphere with the nicest server ever! People were coming in fir take out but they were only open 3 weeks before Covid shut them down and now they have quietly reopened! Good time to go! We had flaky spring rolls, Drunken chicken noodles and the crispy Flounder with sauce 3 ways and Jasmine rice! We asked for a variety of spices for our own bled in the side too! Everything was great! We will be back!

I read many reviews that said this was a great restaurant. I ordered Shrimp Pad Thai and it was mediocre at best. The shrimp was tough and rubbery. The noodles were over cooked and soggy. I asked for it spicy and it there was no spice nor actual taste.

I don’t leave lots of reviews, but my husband and I agreed that this was the best Thai place we have eaten. We are from Charleston, SC which is known for amazing food, and this restaurant still far surpasses any Thai we have ever had in Charleston and anywhere else. We did a pickup order so I can’t comment on the dining service.

Thai Smile never disappoints! The flavor is always on point and the layout is great for take out & social distancing. I highly recommend their curry dishes! They aren't 2 full meals in each order anymore, but that's understandable with the cost of groceries rising.

We have been numerous times and the food is always excellent! On our last visit, the waiter took our order without writing down our requests and made two mistakes. One mistake was an appetizer that never arrived and I ordered the pad thai with shrimp and received pad thai with chicken. We didn't want to hassle with mentioning the mistakes but kind of disappointing as I write this review.

Thai Smile has small menu, but the food is excellent. I used to live in Southeast Asia and the quality of food at Thai Smile is as good you can find there. I highly recommend Thai Smile.

Great lunch! So delicious, I forgot to take a picture. Shrimp Pad Thai with a little spice and Massaman Chicken Curry with extra kick. Portions are just right, not too small but not extremely huge. Vegetarian options available as well.

Great service and the food was amazing

Under new ownership. The owner and his son greeted us warmly. My wife and I were made to feel welcome and were treated on a friendly way. The food was prepared to order and was fresh and delicious. We highly recommend having dinner there.

Really friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and good food. We ordered the chicken pad thai — $16 for the meal pictured, which in my experience is high for the portion size. It did have a strong fish flavor (not bad, just strong). If it wasn’t so expensive we’d eat here more often.

Great menu with items you won’t see anywhere else and the food is outstanding. The interior looks very clean and inviting as well. The owner is very friendly.

Having a South Carolina vacation with the family. On Christmas we were surrounded by closed restaurants so to change it up we decided to have takeout Thai! The curry was delicious and the pad Thai was wonderful! Lastly, the Thai tea was a perfect balance of sweet and bitter tea! Definitely would suggest supporting this small business :)

Not sure why or how this place has such good reviews. Me and my wife tried the food and it was bland and mediocre at best. The mango sticky rice was not good at all. The mango looked old, like they were frozen at one point and the rice was bland. Definitely would not recommend this place.

Excellent authentic Thai cuisine! My family has been going here for over 2 years and always top notch service and food. The pad kee mao is my go and all of the Thai curry is the best I have ever had. The best in the area by far and will never disappoint!

A beautiful restaurant with a variety of dishes guaranteed to enlighten your pallet and even kid friendly with separation of rooms to allow for ambiance and privacy through variation of seating. I am addicted to the pad Thai, dumplings and curries! My son loves the chicken satay and my daughter loves the chicken fried rice 😍 I have not found a dish I haven't enjoyed profusely. Every time I try something new and the flavors are so different between each entree whereas most restaurants it seems like the seasoning is replicated throughout there food choices I can promise you here it is a unique and flavorful dish.

Our wait for food was long due to staffing but overall the environment was lovely. The food presentation was amazing unfortunately 1 of the 4 loved their food but I am saying 4 stars because again the culture and mood of Thai Smiles was awesome. Definitely recommended if you are looking for a date night, an evening out with great friends or business meeting

food was excellent!!! had the pineapple curry, tom kha, pad thai, and stir fry. the curry and soup were rich and delicious. family liked the curry particularly as it had the pineapple flavor without too much sweetness. they do give rice with the curry and stir fry.

On vacation from Va. been away from home over a week I was carving for Thai food, OMG this is one of the best Thai restaurants. I’m Thai native and hard to find the real Thai authentic here this is second Thai restaurant I tried down here in Hilton Head and one of the BEST I highly recommend it the owner and staffs are so friendly I wish I can give them more then five stars.

Very yummy! I had the cashew chicken and my husband the pad Thai. We both enjoyed our meals along with a white sangria that was on special and my husband had the Thai tea. We will be back! Also our server was super friendly, we enjoyed our visit

This place is AMAZING! We showed up at 7:30 and they made a point of it to let us know we didn’t need to rush - they would let us take our time to eat. Amazing food and atmosphere!

This is by far one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever been to. Anywhere. As soon as we arrived we were offered FREE Thai tea for checking into Facebook. My wife and I checked in both and got a free drink each. The food was amazing. We ordered pad sew (I know I’m spelling it wrong), fried rice and Mongolian chicken I believe along with spring rolls and calamari for appetizers. The staff was sooooo friendly and amazing. And the food tasted impeccable as well. I’ll definitely visit again and I’ll recommend this place to everyone that’s in the area.

Last night my wife and I experienced the best Thai food we have eaten in a very very VERY long time. And no I am not exaggerating! Yes you can find Thai food on the island and in the surrounding areas, but we feel nothing compares to Thai Smile. We started with the chicken satay. The chicken was perfectly prepared. The peanut sauce was to die for.(I mean authentic and incredibly delicious!). The Tom Kha Gai soup was rich beyond belief! Not some thin version that tastes like it was just thrown together two minutes before you ordered. We finished with the pineapple curry. Spicy goodness! Not sure how they did it, but every course felt like it tasted fresh even better than the last. And not to sound like a broken record, BUT If you want incredibly great tasting and AUTHENTIC Thai food in Beaufort county or dare we say the Low Country and Savannah areas, we feel there is no Thai restaurant that compares to Thai Smile. Find this place... you will not regret it. I know we have a new regular place to dine. Oh and did I mention it was inexpensive and the staff was incredibly friendly? It was and they were.
