Buzzy eatery serves noodle dishes, spring rolls & lunch specials amid Thai sculptures & art.
It may appear that the place is closed, but the main lights seem to be out.
Staff was very hospitable and knew well about the food items on the menu.
Most of the food was delicious. Tum Yum was too sour, so I would be cautious.
Thai Spicy Noodles were quite tasty. Thus, recommend. Spicy Rad Nah was nice & different (slimy). Ordered 4/5 spicy and was okayish hot. We eat Indian level hot food, so even 5/5 wouldn't be hot for us. Regular eaters could go up to 3 or 4.
The only complaint is the kids' music blasting from the kitchen entrance. It was very irritating as it was getting mixed with the music played throughout the restaurant. Couldn't enjoy the good vibe.
1. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I would give them 5 stars for hospitality.
2. The Tom Yum soup was the best. It was very delicious. Was a little spicy. I can tolerate spice OK. We ordered 3/5 spice level. I would recommend sticking to less than 3 if you can't handle spicy food.
3. Their Thai ice tea was also good. Not as good as some of the places I've been to but definitely in the top 10. It was a little on the sweeter side.
4. We also ordered the Thai spicy noodles and the green curry [with veggie chicken (which I do not recommend)]. The noodles were spiced perfectly but the veggies in the noodle dish lacked seasoning. But overall it was tasty but not as tasty as the soup.
5. The Thai curry was rich in flavor but the veggie chicken was not good. Would instead get the tofu.
Overall it was a very positive dinner. We were travelling all day and hadn't eaten all that much. I'm glad we stopped here.
We were a party of 2 and we ordered 2 drinks, one soup, and 2 main course and we finished 99% of everything we ordered.
This place is amazing. One of the best Thai restaurants on the eastern coast. Pad Thai was delicious, flavorful. The waiter asked how spicy we want our food so each meal was just right. We ordered pad Thai, red curry and pineapple curry. I highly recommend this place. Every bite is worth the wait!
Good food. Could have larger portions for the price.
The best mango sticky rice ever and they give so much mango
Got mango sticky riced smelt old and they had roaches in the restaurant
My family and I visited Ithaca this weekend. We tried to find a restaurant around the Ithaca Commons, but all of them were so crowded. We ended up choosing a Thai restaurant as our final option, and it turned out to be unexpectedly amazing! We ordered the chicken satay, Tom Kha, Pad See Ew, and yellow curry—all of which were delicious.
I also want to give a special shoutout to MyHoa. She was incredible! Her professionalism, enthusiasm, and genuine love for her job and her team truly stood out. She managed the space efficiently, ensuring that those on the waiting list could be seated as soon as possible. Her passion for her work was evident, and she made the experience even better. MyHoa is truly amazing!
Amazing food and staff over here. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for some Thai food in Ithaca!
Absolute trash, for the amount of take out the containers are small, my side order of veggies were all boiled no seasoning not at all did the food taste like the taste of Thai express on meadow Street absolute b.s
TASTE OF THAI EXPRESS IS SO MUCH BETTER! I ordered delivery from here, it took an hour and a half to come, it was also marked that it was dropped off for 20 minutes before the delivery driver arrived. I ordered fried rice and they gave me a container of rice with a side of chicken and yellow sauce and vegetables. Super misleading.
The dining experience has always been exceptional, with delicious food, a beautiful and cozy ambiance, and outstanding hospitality. Satish and the entire staff always go above and beyond to ensure a memorable visit, making every moment truly enjoyable. Thank you very much for the great services!
These guys can take 2+ hours to bring your food. If you have the time to wait, the food is good. If not, go somewhere else.
The food was good, and they catered to our specific request as well. The only big issue we saw was that the person mopping the floor served us the food.
Great food, nice portions and fatastic taste.
The pics and menu looks amazing so went. The place has a powerful chemical smell that smells like a 99cent store. Something like mothballs and shoe polish. The service is great. I wish I can give 5 stars but the chemical smell is so nauseating.
Calm atmosphere, attentive host, respectful servers, tasty food.
We had the pineapple fried rice with chicken, beef massaman, and red curry chicken. It was excellent.
The food was delicious!! Service was a little slow. But once ordered food came put fast. Small restaurant very busy.
We've been here an hour and haven't even gotten our tea yet. 3 refills of water isn't helping.
Go here and not the place down the street. Yums all around!
Great food. Poor service. 22% gratuity included on bill 🙄
I had dinner here last night and it was one of the worse dining experiences ever. First they tried to seat someone who had clearly arrived well after us. Then, they forgot our order and we sat for over an hour waiting. Then they brought the wrong order and in two phases with cold rice and cold food. Instead of noodles they brought rice and when we asked to change it they pretended it was our fault and then they said they were out of noodles. The main dish looked like left over that had sat in the fridge for 3 days! When I pointed out it was cold they showed me the dish was hot (clearly because they had kept it there sitting while.making the rest of the food). In addition to being extremely rude they then took the food into the kitchen heated it in the microwave and brought it back in the same plate. It was horrible! It was clearly terrible to begin with ..then think old leftovers rehated twice or twice in the microwave! It is shocking to me that this place can stay open also given the lack of hygiene that transpired from the half open kitchen.. and with all that we paid over 70 dollars! It really shows how badly Ithaca needs new restaurants!
Visiting from Canada and had Taste of Thai for dinner with my husband last night. Amazing authentic thai food. A definite must when in Ithaca. We will be back.
Delicious food.
Placed an order at 9pm, they accepted it, but the order never delivered. If you can’t deliver order then just don’t accept it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I don’t have my food and can’t get my money back :(((((((((((( super bad
We had a delicious dinner and relaxing experience before a show at the State theater today. We shared crispy duck salad, nicely done, great flavor, and generous portion. We also enjoyed pad Thai with shrimp. But the star of the meal was the stir fry cashew chicken! Atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. Clean and uniquely appointed, with extra little touches like votive and Flowers, a little detail not routinely considered these days. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficiently paced. THANK you !
pad see eew was extremely greasy, had egg shells, and had zero spice when i asked for spicy. L
Great Tom Kha soup and other dishes. Spice levels were inflated (a 4 was not actually very spicy) but great food and service otherwise.
Accidentally swallowed a sharp foreign object in my pad thai. Must have been a toothpick or a nail or something. It really scratched up my throat. I contacted the restaurant but they haven't gotten back to me. Guess I'll wait and see if I die.
อาหารอร่อย บริการเป็นกันเอง
It's been years since we've tried Taste of Thai. What we've been missing! Tonight we ordered (via takeout) and enjoyed an outstanding meal. The vegetables were crispy, fresh, and colorful. (No old soggy frozen, overcooked veggies. Yay!) Sauces were all tasty and perfectly spiced.
Our next order later in the week was more ordinary. The veggies were not as plentiful and crisp, but we will try again for that perfect order.
We’ve been coming here for many years, but I’m really worried about this place. The food is still awesome and it’s our favorite Thai place in Ithaca, but they seem to be suffering from poor management the past few years, leading to longer wait times and a diminished experience. As an example, we recently wanted to get takeout Thai food on a Sunday evening. We were unable to reach the restaurant by phone to place an order. Later we learned from one of the staff that it was her job to answer the phone, but she was the only one in the front of the restaurant at the time and “couldn’t answer the phone”. Huh? The phone just rang and rang, never went to a machine or anything. Not even being sure if the restaurant was actually open, we hesitantly placed an order online for pickup. It said it would be ready in 45 minutes. In the past I would have expected 30 minutes for this non-busy time, but figured the 45 minute timeframe was adding a little slack to manage expectations - no problem. We arrived about 50 minutes later. As expected, the restaurant was not very busy (maybe fewer than 1/3 of the tables occupied) but our food was not ready. They said “7 to 8 more minutes”. We walked down the commons and came back about 15 minutes later. Our food was still not ready. They finally brought it out in another 5 to 10 minutes (about an hour and 15 minutes after we placed the order). There seemed to be several employees just milling about, not really sure what they were supposed to be doing. They remodeled the restaurant during the pandemic and somehow managed to remove all the charm it used to have. I really hope they can get their act together or I fear they will go out of business. That would be a shame, because it really is the best Thai food in Ithaca.
Also, make sure you don’t confuse them with Taste of Thai Express on Meadow St. (especially if you are placing a takeout order). That place is not the same, not affiliated, and has inferior quality food.
Asked about a vegan menu, they said none of the curries can be made vegan because the sauce is “pre-made” i guess they don’t make their own curry sauces
the tofu pad thai was ok. my partner got mixed vegetables and came across a foul smelling something on her plate. we thought it might be fish (not supposed to be there) only to find out it was a spoiled mushroom.
It may appear that the place is closed, but the main lights seem to be out.
Staff was very hospitable and knew well about the food items on the menu.
Most of the food was delicious. Tum Yum was too sour, so I would be cautious.

Very nice food.
Thank you (khup khun khup service and food always excellent
Ordered take out from within the restaurant. Waited ~30 minutes for food to come out. In the meantime, a member of our party became thirsty. As we got our food before leaving, we asked for a glass of water. The manager paused, then said "No, seeing you already paid that transaction is finished and you would have to pay for a bottle of water if you would like some." Perhaps there is some liability I am unaware of, but to be refused a glass of water after buying dinner in a restaurant is absurd. I even tipped (a small tip) on a take out order. Never again. I would love to suggest tipping less but I am sure this would only hurt the waitstaff and not the manager. Regarding the food: the portion size was on the small side, the duck in the duck curry was incredibly seasoned and quite tasty, I would definitely get again. Overall however, I would highly recommend eating elsewhere until this restaurant offers basic services to their customers. Though the food was tasty, the portions were on the smaller side for the price and refusing a glass of water was just so strange of a thing to do we were with a soured mood.
Good straightforward Thai. Many choices. Good taste and good size portions.
Pad Thai tasted far far to sweet with a hint of ketchup or bbq sauce. Hour and a half wait with cold food and missing orders and mixed up orders. Slow service overcrowded and substandard fare.
Food was good but it was too loud, bright and the tables felt too crowded together so overall it wasn’t very pleasant (was a Saturday night - might be better on a week night).
Absolutely awful. They didn’t bring our food out for 40 minutes. We asked the waitress and she said it would be out in a minute. 10 minutes later after asking another waitress she says the ticket was lost. I will not be eating here ever again.
Placed an order through Grubhub and it never arrived. They do their own delivery, so not Grubhub’s fault.
Loved the laarb. But I had to ask 3 times for my mango sticky rice, and 4 for Thai ice tea that I never ended up getting. Yes, it's 7 on a Saturday, I understand delays, but I don't like waiting an hour for an item for any reason. The "spicy basil" was rather generic, can't really recommend it. The Tom Yum was really sweet, which I kinda liked for something different.
Nice to have something different in a quiet setting with very kind staff
We had a very nice gluten-free meal here.
Would say the quality has improved of late, food was very good -- especially the curry. Not super spicy, even at a 4, in case that was what you are after. Can accommodate pretty large parties but the service can be a little slow for a group of 15+, even with a reservation. Overall a spot on the commons I would recommend.
Party of 4 arrived at noon and still no food by 12:50. The restaurant have 2 tables with other customers 2 at one table 3 at another and a few came in behind us. We had to leave and asked to have our food boxed to return back to work. Took 10 min to box up 4 entrees and 2; desserts. Poorly executed as far as serving customers in any order as we watched a couple that came in behind us cash out before we ever saw food. Late back to work and will now eat cold food ... Will not return here!!!
We were visiting Ithaca and tried this place out. The decor was nice, with incense sticks just at the entrance.
The food was good taste. Portion sizes were okay, could be better.
My son ordered pad thai and it was good.
I had ordered red curry, that tasted good but hardly had any meat in the dish. It was little disappointing, that no one came to our table to check, ‘how was the food’.
Made me think twice, if I should tip or not, but did it anyways.
This place really should be rated higher. I'd give it a 4.8!
Excellent food and friendly staff
They really try
The food is mediocre, blunt tastes, tons of sweet sauce, its just sweet
If you apreciate thai food, dont.
But the team is nice
My favorite Thai food restaurant! Green bean w/ beef, pad see ew, and Thai ice tea are the best!
Good food. We ordered a lot of food and nearly everything was good. Yellow curry and masaman curry were average.
Great service. Food is very good.
Yummy food the staff were very friendly. Love the shrimp pad thi
Best Thai food in town!
Taste great
terrible customer service
We stopped in for take-out food and had some tea while waiting. Just what we wanted. Enjoying time with my families first visit to Ithaca.
Great food, reasonable prices. What else do you need to know?
The food was wonderful. We had to wait a long time to get the check after we were done eating, but I assume they're just understaffed like nearly every other restaurant is these days, so I'm not holding it against them much.
Absolutely delicious food. I could have made an entire meal out of the dumplings appetizer, and the Tom Kha was delicious - but the chicken curry I had was the real show stopper. Would eat it once a week if I could.
The best Thai restaurant in the town. Every dishes are delicious. But need to be very patient in the rush hour or try to go when they are not busy.
Absolutely delicious curries, stir fry, fried rice, soups, and appetizers. Hands down one of the best places I’ve tried in Ithaca.
Excellent as always !
Slowest service
Delicious! I had the Thai Fried Rice with mock chicken and my partner had the Pad Thai with chicken. We were both really satisfied with our meals. The chicken had a little bit of char on it, it was cooked perfectly.
We also got the Thai chicken wings as an appetizer. They were nice and crispy on the outside.
I would 100% recommend this place to take friends and family.
Food was excellent. Service was good but there were two noisy customers..
Arrived at 9PM and they were about to close. Ordered Pad Thai for take-out. Well... at least it filled my stomach.
I went to Taste of Thai for a birthday dinner. The tom kha soup was fantastic (creamy, tangy, and comforting), curry dishes flavorful, and service was a bit rushed
Panang panang panang
Food was very disappointing and took 30 minutes longer than the original pickup time. Also extremely poor customer service from the overweight woman that works the drive up window.
Slowest service in history. Showed up for our 7pm reservation and didn’t get seated till 7:20. 7:40 we got a menu. Finally flagged the waiter down to get a check and it took over 10 minutes to get us one, and 35 minutes later I brought it to the front myself because I got tired of waiting. It wasn’t busy, he just spent half an hour wiping tables while we waited to leave. Pushed back all our plans the rest of the night due to abysmally slow service.
never order delivery from this store
They lost the delivery everytime
If authentic Thai is what you’re looking for, this isn’t it. The spice balance is all off, for one. Taste is okayish, for another. Portions are good, as are the prices. Would I go here frequently? Probably not. Would I visit once in a while, probably. The spicy noodles are a saving grace though

I love this place! They are always so friendly and always have quality food. Definitely a staple of Ithaca.
Delicious!!
From South East Asia, lived in LA, ate all over the phenomenal Thai towns there and tried this restaurant for the first time since moving here. I always order the spicy fish dishes to judge what the food standard is and so pleased to report the spicy Jungle catfish dish was so delicious I wanted to lick the plate. It had grachai and Thai eggplant, which is very hard to find in Americanized Thai restaurants!
Can't wait to go back and try the crispy rice salad, haven't seen that on a menu since we dined in mom-pop Thai town places out west !
Ordered 2 orders of spring rolls and Rama Noodle. Waited over an hour before calling the restaurant (they deliver themselves) and they said they hadn’t started the order yet… said they were sorry and would make it “hot and fresh”, be there in 30 minutes. NO PROBLEM! Willing to wait, literally, no problem. Delivery driver called 5 minutes before arriving and delivered to hotel door. Both orders of Spring rolls were EXTREMELY COLD and soggy. Never order the Rama noodle either: tastes like cinnamon. Extremely disappointed with this restaurant.
Amazing food, good price, great service.
Food was excellent! Wait was a little longer but it was Apple Fest in Ithaca!!] Great vegan choices
ดี ดีมากๆๆๆ
I went and my entree took an hour to come out and the place wasn’t busy. The water wasn’t being refilled and the table wasn’t being checked on. The food was good but not worth an hour wait at all. I used to come here for food a couple years ago but it did not hit.
Food was delicious
Restaurant is terrible; went downhill. Don’t know if it’s new management or what else.
I got the Rad Nah and it was disgusting. I ate all the vegetables and left the noodles. The noodles were burnt. The gravy was thick as a pool of saliva. It was very unappetizing and looked even worse. I guess this was the first time where I thanked a restaurant for its small portion sizes…
The mango sticky rice was very confusing— it was SALTY (?!?!?). It is a dessert but I don’t know why the several bites I had of it were SALTY.
Needless to say, I was feeling VERY dissatisfied and didn’t get my Thai craving fixed, so I went to Thai Basil for dinner. And by god, I was in heaven. The portion sizes, to the memorable Pad Kee Mao, to the dreamy mango sticky rice… I regret ever setting foot inside Taste of Thai earlier today.
Do yourself a favor and walk down a block to Thai Basil… or just turn around and head somewhere else away from Taste of Thai.
Sympa, assez bon et pas trop cher :-)
Nice place in the commons. Il you want your food hot, you can ask and you won't be dissapointed. You should try their tankha soup while it's raining
wish i had not tasted taste of thai. if you like rama noodle, don’t get it here - it will make you doubt your tastes. the rama sauce is very think, clumpy, excessively applied, and the broccoli was basically raw. conversely, my friend said his pad sew ew was lacking sauce. the vegetarian spring rolls were delicious so it wasn’t completely disappointing. i only ate here once, but that was enough. it wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t good.
Some of the best Thai food ever! Our party of 7 LOVED this place. We came based on the recommendation of friends who lived here 10 years ago and they did not steer us wrong. We live in MD and eat Thai all the time, this was great! Curry! Momma’s chicken cashew! Pot Stickers! It was all great!
If you want to spend $17.00 for white rice then this is the place for you. Ordered Basil Thai Chicken. My order had barely any chicken or veggies. Mostly white rice. It's not even like it's gourmet Thai food. Better off going to the sangwich store next door.
I ordered from doordash but didn’t receive my food.
ABSOLUTE DISGRACE to a solo customer. Never let you order nor even giving you water while taking care of all the other group customers. Terrible experience
We were hoping to eat some Thai food but waited over 45 minutes at a table and no server ever came to take our order.
I live 1.4 miles away and have been waiting for almost 3 hours for overpriced and probably mediocre Thai food. I'm not saying running a successful Thai food delivery place is easy or hard but this place failed at it.
Food is really really good here. Mango sticky rice and friend ice cream are delicious. I love the drunken noodles in this place as well. They make it really well. One of my top fav for Thai
String Bean Basil was yummy.
Excellent dinner options. Everything was very good!
Not gonna lie, didn't have great expectations for the place based on the sheer number of items on the menu. But everything was good and everyone I was with enjoyed their meals as well.
Really good Thai Spiced Noodles!. Portion was smaller than I expected. Most of the food portions were good but the noodle dish portion was really small. Overall, the food was really flavorful and delicious. Loved the ambience as well. Wish they had more decorations on the walls. Customer service was pretty good.
Great experience..loved the authentic taste of the dishes..as always will highly recommend for delicious Thai food!
Came here after doing a couple of hikes in the Finger Lakes area. I had traditional Pad Thai with Shrimp and my mom had the Yellow Fried Rice with chicken. Both were excellent. I also had two delicious Thai iced teas with cream. It was a very enjoyable dining experience that I recommend to anyone in the Ithaca area!
Worst service of any restaurant I’ve been to. It took an hour to bring chicken wings. They gave us the wrong order twice and were rude about it.
Очень вкусный Padtai с креветками. Берите остроту уровня 2-3, просто отлично.
The host was extremely rude.
Place was good, food was excellent! Seating is a little small but that's okay.
I ordered delivery and had a hour estimate, I waited about four. My food was bland and dry. The delivery woman was not helpful. There was no updates on my food. So calling and the woman keeps saying your food on the way! Four hours later dry tasteless Thai. And for about 50 dollars, very disappointing.
Horrible horrible service. It takes a minimal of 2 hours to receive COLD, SOGGY food. When you call they rush you off the phone to say it's out for delivery. 2nd time won't be a 3rd. Save your money. Smh
Best Thai around, hands down👏👏
Well I can say I order spicy rice and chicken with no onions mushrooms carrots baby corn. You get it. So just wanted. Chicken and rice and spice level 2. But it was not spicy. And I’m allergic to some of the veggies that I did not ask. Also. I open my dessert and it was cold and it look like they just pour the juice over it. Not happy. I paid a lot
Not worth it. In the past my order did not arrive at all. Decided to give the place another try and I should've just ordered some place else. The delivery still took forever and when I received the food, the worker was completely disrespectful and yelling at me through the phone. The food is okey but it's definitely not worth the hassle and poor service.
Food was excellent and arrived on time, except the Thai tea that arrived 4 hours late!
Poor communication. But good food.
I had hotel delivery and it took over 45 minutes longer than they told me (almost 2 hours total). When the food arrived it was cold. Yuk!
Flavors were bland.. I had also specifically asked for an itemized receipt for expense report purposes and and that did not come. Lettuce wraps were very dry, tofu was HUGE squares, so soggy.
I live in central Maine, so not like I am in a food mecca, but this was some of the worst.
Ask somebody who was there next time I never will go there. It doesn't go with my diet it never will go with my diet for the rest of my life!
