My whole family loves this place. We live 5 minutes away and have eaten there and ordered food dozens of times. It's always very delicious, perfectly spicy, and fresh. It's a simple place, but it's clean and delicious, and the staff is always very nice.
Wonderful food! Wonderful owner. First rate! I’ve been coming here for years and have neglected provide a review. One of my favorite restaurants on the island. Highly recommend.
I ordered the Basil Eggplant with Tofu thai hot. It was awesome, thai hot was on point! Friendly staff prepared the food very quickly.
Some of the best Thai food I've had in the South- and I'm very, very particular about my beloved Thai! I went in with a buddy planning a quick lunch and ended up trying much more than we anticipated. Everything was amazing. And FINALLY a place that makes it Thai Hot when we request it!

Always delicious. Fabulous service.
Service and staff are great. We were excited to find this place and is now one of our regular spots!
Curry is awesome...<3 Basil Duck
Coconut Soup;)
Outrageous goons:)

Best Thai food on James island and potentially Charleston. It’s always consistent and very delicious. Very friendly staff!
Best Thai food on James Island, maybe even Charleston. My favorite is curry soup but next is the pad thai.
My favorite!!!!
Acceptable food.
This is my Favorite Thai place. It is a little pricy, but the flavors are amazing. The person up front has always been very sweet. I always get the pad prik.
Literally the best Thai in town. The only place I’ll go for pad Thai EVER. The servings are huge, and the employees are so nice. Love love love.
The packaging is very bad , all the food is leaking from the container, chicken taste like made the day before, I will never go back again
Love this place. Always great food
Small portions and expensive. I got pad Thai and it wasn’t great and it was mostly noodles you’d think for the price of noodles and how much I paid I’d have gotten more noodles. I wish I had gone somewhere else.
Never disappoints! Been going for 6 + years
Takeout only. Always accommodating and delicious. We like our Thai spicy and they deliver.
4/1/22: I had to update the review. 10 stars! We had Pad See Ew and Basil Fried Rice with tofu. Spicy on both. It was excellent. I always get Pad Thai and branched out. It was delicious. This place is a gem for takeout. Quick and easy and friendly. We love it. Enjoy!
Everybody I take to this restaurant absolutely loves the food. They're just doing takeout right now during covid. But they're coconut chicken soup is out of this world!!!
The customer service is amazing and the food is so
fresh, delish and it looks like prepared by the order. Best Thai food I ever had.
Excellent, can beat tasty Thai and sushi or Thai Elephant.... shrimp beef and chicken are incredile... not like other Thai or Chinese restaurants.. Keep up the good work! Worth every penny
Not what I hoped for after reading the previous reviews. I ordered egg/spring rolls, shrimp fried rice and Thai Tea.
The rolls were good but the rice left something to be desired, the shrimp were very fishy. Disappointing for the money.
This is our preferred Thai takeout in James Island! Very friendly lady running the show, and love the new eco-friendly takeout containers! We always receive great service and very consistent food. My only complaint would be that I wish they had yellow curry! There is no yellow curry in all of James Island.
Wow! I regret not trying this place sooner. I’m not usually an egg roll person (I don’t like bland and heavily fried things), but these were the best egg rolls I’ve ever had—crispy and fresh. The tofu panang curry was delicious, too! Tofu usually tastes disappointing, but they cook theirs perfectly. This was my favorite takeout meal I’ve had since the quarantine began.
Nice folks, good food, unpretentious atmosphere, fair prices. Charleston is lacking in decent international food, but we are very happy this place is in our neighborhood.
Not bad. Some dishes run a bit heavy on the sugar.
Disappointed in the taste(less) thai food for the price which seemed extremely high.
Food was on point and the service was phenomenal!!! I will definitely be back again!
Food was made quickly and not cooked all the way
Had a wonderful meal with my beautiful wife. The masaman curry, Thai fried rice, pad see-ew, stuffed shrimp, Thai iced tea and custard with sticky rice were all phenomenal. Great presentation and service. So glad this locally owned business is close to home!
Great pad Thai!
Precioso lugar, comida deliciosa y precios razonables.
Quaint little eatery. Wonderful food!
Good food, decent service. Love the interesting cuisine.
Small inside, but the food was very good!
Super!
Superb service
Authentic and delicious!
Great food. My only complaint is they’re not always open according to their posted hours.
I want to rate higher because I love the food, but extremely annoyed by the inconsistent hours of this place. They have closed for days at a time when they are listed as open and give no notification on their answering machine, website, or social media. Just drive up to find a note taped on the door after calling multiple times to place an order. So, don’t plan your day around going to this place because chances are they won’t be there. I hope to eat there again if I can ever actually catch them when they’re there.
Good
A small restaurant that serves a variety of Thai dishes. I have never been disappointed whether dining in or with carry out.
Very good. Quick service. Great if you have short lunch break
Soooooo good!!
Some of the best Pad Thai in Charleston and the portions are very generous!
Excellent dishes and service. Lovely flavors in eggplant and noodle entrees and nice music to boot. Lucky to eat here!
Food and service were excellent
Omygheez, So yummy ! Great customer service. I absolutely love their food.
I have literally eaten at Pick Thai well over a hundred times, taking my father to lunch many times a week.
The owners are the sweetest people on earth and the food is great.
Basil Eggplant is my staple with Fresh Basil Rolls as appetizer.
Please patronize these fine, humble people and their very fine restaurant.
Great food.
Best Thai I’ve had in Charleston. Thai hot is HOT.
Ordered red curry, pad see ew, stuffed shrimp, basil rolls, and satay chicken and it was all delicious. I wish I had known about this place early. It’s a must!
I think they just remodeled and reopened. Best Thai food I have tried in the Charleston area!
The food is aithentic. Tastes amazing and the staff is so nice
Amazing duck salad :)
Yummy yummy yum yum. Hands down my fave thai food in town!
I LOVE Thai food! It's so hard to find good, authentic Thai food in my area, so when I and my friend found ourselves on Folly Beach and hungry, we hit up Google for some quick, interesting food options and this place immediately caught our attention. It was around 2pm on Friday, and we entered the restaurant to find we were the sole guests. A sweet lady invited us to choose a table and promptly took our drink orders, as we surely looked hot and thirsty. I had a big reusable cup with me and asked if she would mind filling it with a ton of ice water as I was nearing heatstroke, and without batting an eye she took it from me and quick as lightning returned with my frigid refreshment. I also got a sweet tea, which was achingly sweet but gave me the sugar energy to continue surviving.
My friend had never had curry, so we started with the Curry Puffs appetizer. They were super-fresh, hot as hell (temperature-wise), perfectly crisp, and delicious with the amazing vinegar-red onion-cucumber dipping sauce. My friend loved them!
Then it was time to get down to business. I ordered the Prik Khing with shrimp and it was fantastic! The shrimp were spiralized somehow, making the dish a feast for all the senses, with its gorgeous presentation, spicy aroma, and subtle but building heat. Plenty of delicious veggies made me feel like it was a healthy lunch option. The portion was significant, and I took half home for an amazing late-night snack, which I shared with my husband who has always claimed to hate Thai food. He liked it! As a matter of fact, he ate more than his share. ;)
My friend got Green Curry Chicken and LOVED it! The coconut milk took the edge off the heat of the curry and the fragrance was incredible! The veggies were perfectly cooked and the chicken was fork-tender and saturated with amazing flavor.
I am a HUGE fan of Tom Yum soup done well, and got a big cup of Tom Yum Koong to go. Eaten for lunch the following Tuesday at work, it was as good as if it had been made right then and there. These Thais know their stuff, and they do not dumb it down for us crackers. I wholeheartedly appreciate their devotion to the true essence of their food and culture, and I will definitely return for a gallon of my precious soup and whatever else on the menu strikes my fancy. Support this restaurant, because good Thai food is hard to find!
Easily best Thai Chinese Japanese type food this side of CHARLESTON. Basil fried rice and pad Thai with tofu is amazing. Always consistently solid food and fair prices. Surprisingly decent restaurant considering it's in a strip mall.
The food is always delicious and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. You can't beat great food in a clean and welcoming atmosphere.
Presentation of food is nice, had the shrimp rolls fresh (3 rolls cut in half 6 pieces)for appetizer and crying tiger for main course. I have to say it was wonderful, the beef was soo tender and juicy, I am not phased by spice so it wasnt bad for me and the sauce that came with it complimented the meal very good
Amazing food! Exceptional service!
Excellent. Friendly. Cozy. Delicious. Fresh.
Having worked at a high-end Thai restaurant, during college, I love and crave Thai food. This restaurant hit the spot. Will definitely go back.
Loved it, Pad thai was amazing!
Better than Basil Thai. Really.
Great food
Great service
Really enjoyed it
I really like the basil fried rice. Great food
Always so fresh, clean, and friendly. Tom Kha Kai is my favorite ☺️
Didn't get to eat here no one was at the front saw someone walking in the back from the counter could not communicate because they didn't speak English
I just drove 30 minutes because I was craving this place & the sign says "Closed today sorry". This is so unprofessional. I will never be back!
Good service, food is very good but a little spicy for those who are not use to eat spicy food. Beautiful restaurant well decorated. Simple and elegant.
Best Thai Food in Charleston. It's better than Thai Basil and less expensive.
This restaurant is one of James Island's hidden gems. Their beef pad thai is so flavorful, and they don't skimp on meat. I can always count on Pick Thai for affordably-priced food, generous portions, and fast service.
Good Thai food, fast service and friendly staff.
Dont let this tucked away strip mall restaurant suprise you...it a Summerville sleeper. Easilly the best Thai food in the Ville. Its small but actually bigger then Pad Thai downtown (2nd best in town) The prices and service were great....we will be back!
Got food poison yesterday and have been violently ill all night. What a way to spend my Christmas weekend. First and last time eating here.
The wait staff is very friendly. Small and cheap alcohol menu. I enjoyed the Stuffed Shrimp appetizer with Tom Ka Khai soup.
Great atmosphere! Resti is the sweetest lady! Come see her!
Great food. Best Thai food outside downtown/ West Ashley. Worth it if you're in Summerville. Pad Thai and red curry are top notch.
Overpriced for the small portion and mediocre quality food.
I don't feel like this is an authentic Thai cuisine. I ordered fresh basil rolls with chicken, and a curry noodle soup. The fresh basil rolls, while abundant in vegetables, could've used more mint. The curry noodle soup had ramen noodles, which, to my knowledge, is not authentic. I assumed it would have rice noodles. The curry broth was bland and contained what looked like a stack of french onions on top of the ramen noodles. Save your money and go somewhere reputable for authenticity.
Great food. Awsome small restaurant. Very affordable
So glad we have a authentic Thai place on JI! When our family visits from Texas it's one place they want to go everytime. I usually get the Basil Fried Rice with chicken. Spicy and fresh! For ~$12 at dinner it's a HUGE portion and I always get a lunch for next day out of it too. Last time we got the Tom Yum Goong soup and it was so fresh and amazing but you must love lemongrass!
if i could give it zero stars, i would. this place is awful. the staff and food are equally terrible. the staff has no personality and the food was burned and had no flavor. sent my appetizer and entree back. save yourself the headache and go somewhere else
Tonight when I ordered pickup I paid 13 dollars for what I ordered and left a 2 dollar tip (because I like the place and I felt it necessary to tip even on a pickup order- this comes into play in a second). When I got home it was not what I had ordered- it was something completely different that I couldn't eat. When I called to notify them they told me to bring the food back and trade it in. Looked at the clock- they closed in 20 minutes and I couldn't make it back in time. Called them back and they offered a 15% discount off for when I came in next time. Which wouldn't even cover the tip I left on a pickup order that YOU screwed up that I can't eat. Absolutely ridiculous. As someone who has worked in the food and bev industry if you screw up- especially on something as easy as a 1 menu item pick up- you make it right. How about a full refund for the food I paid for- and tipped for- on a pickup order YOU screwed up. I won't be going back to this place again. Garbage service.
From out of town and lucked upon this place! Amaaaazing Thai food and great service :-) Go here or you're missing out!
Super flavorful!
Fantastic food and wait staff! Had the Basil fried rice and vegetable spring rolls. Both amazing!
The price is too much and the food is quite too much of a ripoff.
Really tasty and affordable thai food with a convenient location to anyone on James island. Great Currys.
Food was great and service was excellent. Portions on the smaller side.
Staff member very nice food was delicious
Had a great dinner here, definitely one of the more authentic choices. When you ask for extra spicy, they will definitely deliver!
Shrimp Pad Thai... Delicious!
TAKE OUT CUSTOMERS GET SERVED FIRST!! This is a weekly favorite for me and my husband. Everything on the menu is fresh and delicious. I'd give it five stars, except for one big note of caution. If you go for a sit down meal at dinner, be prepared to wait. They do a HUGE volume of take out business, and at Pick Thai take out customers get served first. So if you sit down, be prepared to wait. Walk-in orders WILL get served before the tables do. The wait time is compounded by the fact that there is usually always just one server working. That person has to take phone orders, walk-ins and wait the tables. Trust me. It can be very, very frustrating.
Always great food.
We absolutely love Pick Thai! The basil rolls are delicious, fresh, and very well prepared. I have gotten into a rut lately, I cannot seem to order anything but the spicy udon noodles. They are fantastic every time and spicy enough to make me sweat a little. As a chef and restaurant owner, I really appreciate the quality of flavors the chefs here create. If you have not been there yet, you need to go and support this great little spot. Pick Thai!
Our server was a young, gracious young lady. The food is soooo fresh and flavorful! Vegys with the right amount of crunch and I could taste the fresh herbs, just the right flavor. Very nice presentation. I look forward to going back!
Very disappointing experience....Went here for lunch and ordered a veggie red curry. The portion was *tiny*. Seriously the smallest lunch that I've ever been served in a restaurant ever. It was like one small scoop of vegetables and one small scoop of white rice. It wouldn't have fed a child and cost $9! After finishing (it didn't take long) the first thing I thought was that I was hungry and needed to get some lunch so I went out and got more food. Really. The food quality was OK...not bad but nothing special either. Got me hungry for some good thai food, so later went to the far superior Taste of Thai also in Charleston.
An amazing find! Don't waste your time and money downtown. This is the best Thai place in Charleston!
Best Thai food in the Greater Charleston area hands down!
Blown away..chicken cashew spicy.
Best Tai Food In Charleston! Two of us can have a 4 course meal under $35. Try the Tom Kai Kai Soup, or Beef Noodle, Fried Wontons, and the Green Curry... finish off with HOMEMADE coconut ice cream. YUMMY!
The wings were very small.
I have been to Thailand, and this is the first place in Charleston that comes close to "Thai spicy" without losing any flavor. Service was fast and friendly. I hope this place stays around!
