Stylishly presented Thai dishes & an extensive wine list are offered in refined surroundings.
I had drunken noodles with shrimp. The back of the menu says to select your spice level on a scale topping out at "very hot", but the server then asked me how hot I wanted it, up to Thai hot. I selected Thai hot. When my noodles arrived, they had good flavor. The shrimp was cooked properly and the dish was nicely garnished. I was a little disappointed with the spice level, however. I could see pepper seeds and small pieces of chili pepper in the dish, but there just wasn't as much of a kick as I'm used to in Thai hot dishes. Still, the dish was flavorful. Otherwise, the chicken satay appetizer was good, with a nice peanut sauce and pickles.
First time here and we will be back! Everything was excellent from start to finish. We started with the Fried Wonton. Crispy, hot and very flavorful. I had the Drunken Noodle with chicken (med spice) and my husband had the Shrimp and Scallop Mussaman Curry (med spice). Both were delicious and the flavor and spice were perfect. We also enjoyed a glass of wine and a cocktail. Looking forward to trying other dishes on the menu.
We were on vacation and looking forward to hot Soup on a cold night. We were seated quickly, but had to wait an extended time for service. A gentleman was bussing tables & came over to help us. We ended up leaving because he informed us that the Soups contained MSG. So disappointing!
This was the first time we came to the restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, and the restaurant was uniquely decorated. The waitress was very nice. We ordered the grilled calamari, and it was different but delicious. I had the drunken noodles with chicken. They were good, but not as spicy as expected for medium. The waitress provided a plate with additional hot sauces to make it as spicy as we wanted. Overall, it was a very good experience. We will be back to try something different from their menu!

Excellent food add service
I have ordered carryout three times here. Each time the food was fresh, hot and delicious. The House Special Pad Thai with shrimp and scallops was a bit pricey but the shrimp were delicious as were the scallops. The basil chicken was also delicious, as was the beef pad thai. Great to have a good quality Thai restaurant near by. Went back to the Bluffton location and had a bad experience. Ordered shrimp and scallops. There were two scallops and I am not sure they were. Waitress did not want to make it right. Don’t go to Bluffton location!
Incredibly tasty and flavorful food. Very good service. Nice place to meet friends for lunch.
This is a hidden gem. I love Thai food and this is as good as it gets. AND, they take reservations. Don’t leave without trying their mango sticky rice.

Food was cold, asked waitresses the warm it it & saw her put it in the microwave!!
Still was cold!!
Spoke with the owner & she said sorry!!
That’s it !!!
Horrible experience
We have eaten here many times. Food and service always excellent. We recommend highly!
We have gone almost every time we’re in Hilton Head it never disappoints
Wish I could give them more stars. The food is good, but the service is outstanding!
I'm not big on Thai but let me tell you, they do it up right. Fantastic setting and food. Authentic feel.
Great lunches
Great food and pretty plates in a lovely restaurant.
Food was a little pricy for the amount you get but that's most places these days. My soup was great just wish it had more in it. Was mostly broth but tasty. Yummy drink and pad Thai was awesome!
First, the waitress said “I’ll give you more time to decide” then walked away after I had asked a question about the menu. She then disagreed with what I had decided to order and attempted to get me to choose something else. She spoke in such poor English that I didn’t have a clue what she was saying. If one is going to live and work in the USA, please learn English.
Food was very mediocre. Miss all the small local places from up north.
The food was good, but I thought it was VERY expensive for what it was, and the portion size was small. I ordered chicken, but failed to find any in my dish.

Pad Thai had something unusually tasting, fair at best.
Soft Shell Crab - not fresh crab and did not taste good at all.
Service was ok. Table right by kitchen sink which was busy with a lot of take out; and hall to bathrooms which was old and gross and storage for paper goods.
Overall experience was not good and need to find better Thai food around here!
After having the same entrees in Thailand, nyc, nj,nc, this restaurant has their own flair on dishes but not entirely authentic in my opinion. Pricing was on the high end for the type of atmosphere and service felt rushed. Unfortunately the yellow curry also left me rushing to the bathroom all evening. Never had issues with traditional curry recipes.
The service was great, the people were nice, but the food was not good and ridiculously expensive. I would recommend driving to Savannah before trying this place.
Great drunken noodles! Enough for two meals.
Great food and Gira is amazing! What a great service!
I went there with a large group. Not one complaint! Large portions. Even though there was 20 of us no one had to wait for their food, all arrived together and hot.
Absolutely do not understand how this place got so many good reviews. Yes the people seem friendly and the presentation was pretty (this is the only reason why we are giving this rating a 1-star), but the food is overpriced and extremely subpar. This is the second time we’ve been and again completely disappointed with the quality and taste of the expensive food we received. We gave it a second chance tonight and this time ordered different appetizers and entrees and again we were all very disappointed. We even told our waitress twice how much we did not like the food and what especially stood out is the calamari appetizer which was left uneaten except for the small pieces everyone took just to taste it and realize how bad it is! They didn’t even bother to apologize for the poor quality (chewy/gummy meat and lukewarm food temperatures) and tastelessness of their food but they surely didn’t hesitate to still charge us full price for everything. We will all not be going back to Ruan again.

Always enjoy the delicious food and friendly staff. Saturday night was busy but it appeared takeout service was taking away from dining in customers. Waited an hour for meals to be served. Everyone said deliciousness made up for very slow service.
Bomb. So good.
So good we ate there for dinner and again for lunch. Thanks!
Great friendly service and food is always top notch!
The staff and food is good but it doesn’t justify the prices with quantity.
Also they charge you for liquor like a professional bar but the quantity is like very meager ,They need to train bar person properly to justify the charges.
Let me get this straight. If you sit by yourself, you can’t sit in a booth? Really? The owner of this restaurant said that to me. What kind of service is that? Not only just that. I have found out from 1 of the employees that the owner takes half of their tips. I wonder what the IRS will say about that. Yea should call my friend who’s brother, works for the IRS, to ask him that question and also the Labor department. So, if you want to support a business like that, takes tips from servers that makes only $2.13 an hour, then what kind of a person are you? I personally would not support that due to a integrity .
Terrible customer service. My mother ordered a to-go order over the phone. I listened to her and it was correct. She picked up the food and when she returned home, part of the order was wrong. She called and all they said they would do is replace it…if we brought back the wrong item. (So, are they going to serve the item that left the restaurant with a random person, to someone else?? That is very unsanitary!)
I called for my mom to ask for a refund on that item, gift certificate or discount for future visits for the entire inconvenience. They would not offer anything. Nothing at all besides just replacing the soup. This is VERY POOR SERVICE. I have worked in restaurants majority of my life. This was the restaurant’s mistake and they do not care about the customer clearly. It’s kind of ridiculously funny because they can’t even offer $10 for their mistake. Pinching pennies??? We will not be recommending this restaurant or going back.
I love this place! The service was fast. It was quiet and a great place for dinner with my girlfriends. We had drinks and a main course. All of us loved our food!
Always great
I absolutely love this hidden place. The food is amazing. I want to try so many of the unique foods on the menu, but Im stuck on the garlic beef. This is a really special place.
This restaurant was in a nice area and plenty of parking spaces at the time of day I went to order take out. The Staff were really nice and the gentleman that took my order took the time to get my order right. This was my first time eating here and I always wanted to try Thai Cuisine. Thanks to the Staff for your professionalism and to the Chefs food was amazing and I was stuff for the rest of the Day. Healthy food and plentiful in serving. Awesome day and experience!!!!!
The HHI location is AMAZING. The Bluffton location is a sad shell of the original location. Worth the drive to the island to get the real deal. Seems this happens with so many successful island restaurants, when they open a bluffton location it is simply not as good.
The food was fantastic, I had the yellow curry with chicken and my wife had chicken pad Thai. Good serving sizes that were filling without feeling like we over ate. Dining room is slightly chilly so if you get cold easily bring a light sweater. Overall great experience and will for sure be back!
Went for lunch as a party of 8. Amazing food and service! Loved the whole experience! Recommend the restuarant
Very disappointed! I usually go to the one on Main Street, HHI for take out. Figured I’d try it out for a change. First of all I’ve always gotten the coconut shrimp with 5 to 6 large pieces and a nice mild duck sauce. Only received 4 and the sauce was extremely spicy not like any other place! The chicken (masama?) curry that I got didn’t even fill the container except there was a very large amount of liquid (not vegetables). The mango sticky rice dessert barely filled the container plus it cost $1 more than the other place. Never going back again!
Very musty smell inside. Food was not hot. Salad portion was enough for a 6 month old baby! Never going back.
Ordered vegetable green curry. Spicy and tasteless
Always wonderful food with most beautiful presentation.
Dante was excellent. He did an amazing job for being the only server in the restaurant. Great atmosphere and even better food. Highly recommend.
The food was good
Very disappointed in the price. I ordered the snapper and they did not tell me it was 50 dollars. So 2 items literally cost me 75 dollars.
Great food but overpriced with smaller portions
Always quick and friendly. Terrific experience.
Solid Thai food.
It doesn’t matter what you order it is all amazing! The owner and staff are first class. The appetizers and meals are the most authentic and most flavorful meals you could ever get in the area. Have eaten here for years and it is always perfect. Those that are critical don’t know what bad Thai food is. It’s an amazing atmosphere and even with COVID they are still on top of their game. Want more flavor go Thai hot! Need more broth just ask! They will always accommodate any need. If your a vegetarian you’ll have more options than you can imagine. If you love lamb steak seafood chicken noodles or soup this is your spot!
I ordered curry and it came in a regular foam tray not a container. The was no broth just meat and vegetables. Without the broth it tasted bland, not a lot of flavor. The little bit of both at the bottom tasted really good and the mango sticky rice desert was very good.
It's always awesome the Thai Basil & Thai Ginger are phenomenal and you have a choice to add chicken, shrimp, or beef. The vegetables are always fresh and crisp like they just cut them up and cooked them. The best Thai place in Bluffton easily!
My wife and I love this place. Always great food and the best service around. If you want to go somewhere that frankly just makes you happy, go to Ruan Thai in Bluffton.
Delicious
They are very friendly but the food is just okay. Tom Kah Gai was very thin and too much sugar added. No fresh vegetables in the food.
Not again.
Ruan is one of my favorite restaurants around here, food is amazing, fresh and so delicious!! Service is excellent. I have been eating at this restaurant since day one many years back and never been disappointed, I absolutely love the food and the staff and of course Jada the owner who always is around making sure we all are having top service!!
Thank you,
Worst meal I have had in recent memory. I had the chicken pad Thai and the chicken was obviously old and gone off. There's no way the chef wouldn't have smelled that it was off but he cooked it up and served it anyway. I ate around the chicken and walked to the nearby Kroger for some Pepto Bismol just in case.
Tasty food
Not baf
The food was good not great. The service was lacking, we sat for roughly 10 minutes before we were approached. Don't order iced tea, it's instant.
Great meal. Loved it. Good service.
A great Thai restaurant. The food was delicious and the plate presentation beautiful. The inside of the restaurant is very attractive. The noise level is not bad. It's possible to carry on a conversation. All in all it was a pleasant experience.
Delicious and great service! My faves are the green curry, spicy flat noodles and for dessert combining the flaming fried ice cream with the mangos and sticky rice!
Good food
Amazimg food
The best Thai food I have ever eaten!! Wonderful service to go along the amazing food!
This is my favorite restaurant in Bluffton. The restaurant is beautifully decorated inside. The servers are kind and attentive. The food is so good and the chefs take special touches to make the food look as good as it tastes.
The food was fresh bathroom clean waitresses very nice atmosphere amazing
Excellent meal with fresh ingredients and good service. As good as my favorite places at home. Lots of tables and a small bar. Good wine list and a full bar too! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
We crave Thai ... and Ruan delivers a paradise of selections including vegan which one of us requires. Quality & flavours exceptional. Reasonably priced especially considering what Ruan delivers.
Excellent!!
Good ambiance, Friendly Staff and Delicious food.. Keep it Up!!
Very good food.
I absolutely love this place! I have been trying to go there it seems like once a month at a minimum. I've never had a bad meal here and the service is just right. Really well done and smooth running restaurant. Would recommend to everyone.
Excellent food! Great vegan options.
Lovely spot
I had lunch there yesterday. Not the first time I have eaten there. I had the Big Bowl. Very good, however after about half hour I just made it to a bathroom. Never again. Something was definitely wrong. I thought the shrimp had a funny taste. I shouldn't have eaten it.
Taste like regular cheese take out eat somewhere else
We always have great service and a pleasant experience here!
Awesome food
Always good food and service.
Staff outstanding food delicious
Liked the menu and the food came out authentic.
Their noodles are done perfectly and I recommend their fish dishes as above average.
The best part is there spring rolls!
Food good, prices OK, service great, portions have decrease since last visit.
This place dishes are like food court tastes occurring to 3 dishes I order.beware if you are new traveler! Shrimps are uncooked , they speak minimum so they charge extra for something I did not order. Service was not friendly..
Love their Basil Thai. I always get take out but dining area is nicely done, quiet. Location in Bluffton is off hwy 278 behind the IHOP in the building with the UPS Store.
The worse place to eat tai food. I was served raw shrimp with my order shrimp pad tai. I told the server, they took the shrimp out of the plate, told me they where going to serve me another one. Came back with the shrimp still raw. I when to eat at this restaurant at lunch peak time, I was concerned about this fact. But since I really love tai food I when in anyway. Big mistake, it’s the reason why the restaurant was empty at peak time. Don not eat at this place, unless you want to be treated as a animal.
Great food in a fun and comfortable atmosphere. I love Thai food and this place checks all my boxes
Very costly as a thai restaurant. Same food item, same recipe, same taste is available in other thai restaurants at almost half the price. They have added compulsory soft drinks and salad with veggie roll (which is tastes pathetic ) and charging 15.95 for lunch entree.
First time visiting here. Tom Ka soup was excellent and the fried bananas with coconut ice cream was to die for as well! Love the Thai iced tea! Will be back again and again!
Delicious recipes
Love the whole snspper
Very expensive! Waitresses rushed us to eat!
Always amazing food. The pad Thai and diet noodle are excellent.!!
Love coming here. The staff is always so nice, and the food is excellent.
Great atmosphere, great service and great food
great lunch as always
Love it
Excellent food, fantastic service, and great prices.
I ordered the spicy flat noodles with pork "as hot as it can be," and it did not disappoint. From the time I walked in the door to the time my food arrived was under 20 minutes, and staff was extremely friendly. The quality of the food is top notch, and the prices are very fair. I highly recommend.
VERY GOOD! I'm a chicken to try different cuisines...and I was very pleased. (My husband is even worse!)
I'm gluten free, so options were limited, but I found a soup and I had Chicken Pad Thai. There are curry dishes, some sushi and a "salad roll" (very good) in rice paper that are also gluten free. A previous poster said they would make anything gluten free. NOT true! They use soy sauce on just about everything.
My hubby had coconut shrimp (appetizer size) and loved it.
The atmosphere is very nice and upscale. Comfortable booths and big, comfy, tall chairs.
Parking was fine. Staff was very attentive. Would recommend!
Suchi very good. Curry and Pad Thai excellent. We will definitely return!
We come here often, great food and tasty but the place mats on the table are always dirty with stains on them
We were a table of 6 and were able to sample a lot of different dishes. All of the curries were excellent and the larb was outstanding. The combo platter was a great sampleing and big enough for 3 people. Be adventurous and step outside your comfort zone and try something new. You won't be disappointed.
Food and service were very good.
Always delicious and wonderful service! My faves are; spicy flat noodles with shrimp, green curry with squid or pork and the fried ice cream and mangoes with sticky sweet rice ❤❤
great food- the sushi is new and very well prepared
Love the service and delicious Thai cuisine every time I've visited here over the last 10 or so years.
Watch what you pay, this place will cheat on your bill
Very good food, beautiful presentation and nice, helpful & friendly staff.
I hope this place never closes. I literally dream about the Panang Curry! The staff is so friendly and always remembers us and asks about our children if we go without them. The place is clean and the food comes quickly. Probably my favorite restaurant in town!
Amazing meal! Beautiful presentation. Delish deserts! Fabulous coffee to finish my meal. Very reasonable when the check arrived. Will be a regular.
1st time visiting, very good. I got a little more than expected.
Great food, friendly, efficient... but pricey!
Excellent lunch
Very nice relaxing ambience but very small portions, priced high for the amount served. I am not an authority on Thai food so I don't feel my review would be fair. IMHO, the food was mediocre and I probably won't return.
Glad to find this little gem. Food was delicious.
Meals are always excellent
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere! I may go broke eating here! My goodness!
Excellent food. Tried to change the place we sat to a more secluded spot, but due to a language barrier. I was not successful.
great food and excellent service...lunch best deal around
