This was unfortunately the worst drunken noodles I’ve ever had. The flavor just wasn’t there, it seemed like they sprinkled chili powder and called it a day. The waitress also seemed to be rushing us while ordering though it was a fairly empty afternoon. The only redeeming factor was the thai iced tea which was good.
We had a large group dinner here and all of us had a wonderful time. Thank you to the hosts for accommodating such a big group so last minute. Everyone (including people with very discerning palates) was impressed by the portions, flavors, and fantastic price point. (Pictured is the delicious tilapia with panang curry - huge slabs of chunky fish). The decor was cosy and inviting. Great little gem in Philly.
Such a homey feel. Food is amazing and staff is accommodating in terms of adding and taking out ingredients. Made so many connections here with both staff and patrons. I talked about my travels to Thailand and the staff listened in on it and I was also able to give others travel advice as well.
Very nice flavor with the curry. Highly recommended. Drunken noodle (same as spicy noddle) is okay. Chicken can sometimes be slightly tough but still okay, and sometimes perfect. Service is very friendly and hard working. Owner was careful about my allergies and double checked ingredients for me. The seating is limited to about 20 people - very small inside.
I ordered green curry with thai ice tea. They were both really really good. I liked that the green curry had some spice. The environment is very cozy. I came here alone and didn’t feel awkward at all. It’s suitable for family or friends dinner as well.
Ordered the spicy noodles for take out... was disappointed with the food. First off is that authentic Thai noodles shouldn't have chunks of barely-cooked carrots, green beans and zucchini. Second off is flavor is just not there. Food is edible, its just not great. I got the right order though, so that's a plus. Now, if I found this food in BFE, well, it's a 5 star. But this is Philadelphia, and plenty of better Thai food to be had just around the corner.

Great experience, reminds me my time in Thailand. Friendly and efficient service.
LOVE Smile Cafe :)
Doordash a bunch of food togo and they gave us zero utensils and napkins🙃
Best Thai in center city. Delicious food. The owners/employees are very very nice people, fast & hardworking.
There was hair in the dumplings, but the waitress didn't apologize for it. The fried rice was also not good, and it felt like it was not very fresh.
Great authentic Thai bistro.

Really cute spot with great service, nice decor, and delicious food!
Small place very personal great value the food was delicious real authentic Thai
Food is always good and filling. I love their peanut sauce. You get great lunch specials and the dessert is amazing.
I had such high hopes based on previous reviews, but it was inedible. Ordered Massaman curry with chicken for take out. They were running behind and our order was delayed and they clearly rushed it because it was undercooked. The potatoes were raw on the inside and onions, peppers, & potato were barely cooked and very crunchy. Some of the chicken was woody and inedible.
I just want to give some love to my favorite go-to Thai food spot in Philly. Smile Cafe's curries are delicious and have been my comfort food for years.
I highly recommend the Panang, Red, and Green Curries. Even though they come packed with veggies, I love that they offer sides of steamed veggies, which I frequently add to my order. The veggies always seem fresh, never overcooked, and have the perfect bite to them.
I'm a big fan of the Chicken Satay, and the peanut sauce on the side is delicious.
Big love to the cooks and the owners - this place is a gem!
I had the eggplant basil dish with tofu instead of chicken and it was very delicious 😋
We went there for lunch. The store asked for a 15% minimum tip (dine in)
We used to get curry here often and it was incredible
Best Thai near Fitler Square
Great food and super quick
Food was amazing. Good portions sizes especially for the cost.
Great place for a quick Thai lunch. Inexpensive but good quality for a reasonable price. Will definitely be back!

I have only done take out with doordash here and it’s been my favorite place to order from whenever im craving thai, and that’s often. The quality is always consistent! The food is DELICIOUS!! Smile cafe will always have my support!!
Love this place. I work down the street and order it almost weekly. Their yellow curry is so yummy.
This is a perfect sized spot which serves a fast and great lunch!
By far the best Thai in Philadelphia other than maybe Kalaya but you are paying a premium there. This is exactly what you what from Thai food. Best lemon grass soup I’ve ever had. I used to work across the street and would eat here weekly. They recently expanded their delivery radius and I couldn’t be happier!!
Excellent pad Thai and massamun curry. Can't beat the price for lunch either. We will definitely be back
We ordered on a late night, everything was fresh and hot. We got the shrimp drunken noodles, fried spring rolls, Thai curry, mango sticky rice, and Thai tea. This was the best drunken noodles I've ever had! The shrimp were large, fresh, and cooked perfectly. Everything was really good and they serve a generous portion too!
Can't wait to order again
Super sweet staff and delicious food. The massaman curry wad excellent!
Very quick with their food and the lunch special is a great deal. Friendly staff and delicious food.
Great Thai place good for a quick bite and take out. Large portions for a good price. Food was ready quickly.
They started charging for using credit card. Also taste has gone down.
Cute, cozy, and comfortable. Great, fast service. Wonderful, fresh food. Many vegetarian options. If I lived here I would eat here regularly. Got mango sticky rice to go and was SHOCKED at the generous portion and very happy with the flavor, texture, and freshness.
Really good curry and very fair pricing.
Food is hot, arrives quickly to the table. The portions are bigger than they seem, so the prices are quite reasonable. Service is attentive and kind. A great little lunch spot, packed with flavour. The mango sticky rice is especially good 👍
Delicious, convenient, cute interior
I ordered take out (the only option). I read the mixed reviews first and was hopeful. The service was great-very friendly which counts for a lot. Unfortunately the chicken pad Thai lunch special was inedible. Salad was dry and old; Rice noodles were mush; very little chicken; tofu chunks mixed in, and no pad thai flavor. My guess was it was all days old and/or completely overcooked. I like to support small businesses but I literally threw my money away. I had to throw it away. I hate writing negative reviews but there is no excuse for what I got. I hope it improves but won't go back.
Very pleasant and efficient! Also, the food was GREAT!!!!
Best fast-casual Thai food in Philly. Better than JJ, more affordable and with many more healthy options. Neighborhood staple
Surprised by the few negative reviews, as I’ve only had positive experiences with Smile. The lunch specials are a great deal. My go-to has been the Pad Thai with chicken. It’s not the best Thai food I’ve had, but for the price I have no complaints. They’ve also been very consistent with quality, accuracy, and timing when ordered through their website.
Used to go here for lunch, glad to revisit it
For a restaurant that is called smile, they made me do the opposite. Canceled our order after we were excited to grub. Disappointed to say the least. Would give out negative stars if we could. Reflect on your actions.
I have been ordering from Smile Cafe since couple of months. My typical order is Green thai Curry (Veg), rice and spring rolls. Love the taste. And the quantity is enough for 2 people. However, the curry does change somewhat in composition and taste, from time to time, but overall it has been good experience.
So good, love Thai food
By far one of my favorite lunch spots in Philly. This place is such a hidden gem. The lunch specials are sooo good and so affordable. I always get the pineapple fried rice with shrimp and a spring roll, soup, and Thai tea. I've never been disappointed! They appear to be takeout only since COVID
Great fried rice
They are not doing dine-in right now
Of the Thai restaurants in this area I always find myself coming back here for my takeout orders - great food for the price with quick and friendly service. Hard to choose between the drunken noodle & the panang curry, both delicious!
Always a pleasure! Our favorite Thai spot in Philly!!!
Their online ordering includes an automatic and absurdly high tip for the driver. Tried to call in order for pickup instead but got a voicemail that their mailbox hasn't been set up yet. Wasted 20 minutes of my time. Someone has to get their act together.
My favorite Thai takeout place in Philly. Fresh ingredients, generous portion, and great service. Highly recommended.
Pretty good spot. I am from west coast and am spoiled with good Asian food. I was surprised how solid this restaurant was for being on East coast of USA
I got food delivered from here and it was very reasonably priced and delicious. Huge portions of pad thai, plenty for leftovers after! Everything tasted amazing.
Very solid affordable thai food, do attend
Great Food !!
The food here is outstanding but when it arrives cold because you ordered at 7 and the food arrives after 9 there's an issue. Unfortunately disappointed.
Everything here is so good
Really good! We got mock duck eggplant and thai spaghetti. Mock duck doesn't taste or feel like duck but it tasted really good and I love tofu. Thai spaghetti was very peanutty, strong but not over powering.
I used to live near this place and would pass by it frequently but ignorantly never thought to try it based on outside appearance...now I work near by and recently ordered lunch & dinner one day. It is AMAZING! The flavors are great, the curries aren't watery like some other places, and the portions are hefty, you definitely get your money's worth. Coconut soup is great, pad thai was great, and red curry also great. Thai iced coffee packed a punch too! Can't wait to try more dishes soon!
Amazing deep flavoured soups to warm your heart and belly!! Super affordable too for big plates with generous portions. The staff could be a little bit more attentive.
Smile cafe is one of the best restaurants in the city. It is consistent, delicious, and affordable.
I would recommend anyone nearby order from them or visit them when you can.
I ordered through DoorDash and was very happy with my food. I had the panag curry salmon, spicy shrimp drunken noodles, pad thai with beef, vegetables with red curry, and two of the soups. Everything had excellent flavor and the spice level was perfect. The shrimp were a tad over cooked, but the drunken noodles were perfectly prepared. I will definitely order from this place again.
Their delivery is better than 95% of sit in Thai. Meals are nicely portioned for the cost!
Smile is one of my favorite restaurants! I go there frequently for takeout and dine-in and I only have positive things to say about the place. The food is delicious and fairly priced. I particularly like the noodle dishes! Thank you, Smile!
Fantastic seafood hotpot!
Great food, limited seating for large parties but they will accommodate.
Everything was excellent except my experience towards the end. I paid the bill and was stopped by the server outside the restaurant indicating that I left less than 15% tip. It was not mentioned anywhere today there's a minimum required tip. I felt embarrassed to stop like this for something that minor. They should improve their customer service. Very disappointed at the end.
Excellent food & service
Very Good and polite staff
i ordered the pineapple shrimp fried rice. It was actually very good until I noticed a hair in my food.
Lunch menu excellent value for money.
Las porciones chicas el sabor bueno
Nice, cozy place for lunch, dinner. Food is awesome. If you are around the place and looking for a casual place for good thai food do visit Smile cafe. Their prices are great.Been here twice, will go again soon.
My favourites - Crying fish and spicy stir fried chicken noodles.
I love the lunch special. The portions are just right.
Nice ambience and food. Have been there couple of times and never disappointed with any of my orders.
Very good food
Had shrimp Pad Thai and spring rolls from here last night from Grubhub, the pad Thai tasted like tomato paste and nothing else, and the shrimp was unseasoned and over cooked to the point where it was rubbery. I’ve had better spring rolls from the frozen section of a grocery store. Would not recommend this place to anyone with tastebuds
Soo good! I love this place!!
