Relaxed Laos/ Thai BYOB spot preparing spiced-to-order dishes.
The place was okay. Pad Thai was pretty good. Massaman curry was not thick in consistency, more like watery which to me suggested they used less coconut milk. It would be depending on your preference, but I like it when it's more dense in consistency. They asked about the spicy level and I said mild, but it was not spicy at all. I guess they are catering to Americans who cannot take any spicy food. Or perhaps they need to look at the spicy levels?
Review for BuaLoy Cuisine
Authentic Lao food is hard to find outside the city, but BuaLoy Cuisine delivers and honestly, it’s better than many places in the city. My wife and I love eating here because Lao cuisine has a more authentic Southeast Asian flair than most other restaurants in the area, making it one of our top picks. The flavors are bold, the dishes are well-prepared, and the quality is consistently excellent. If you’re looking for a spot that serves truly authentic Lao food, BuaLoy is definitely worth a visit!
We've been to BuaLoy a number of times and have always loved it. The staff, the food and the service are always fantastic. We had to leave a review this time though...BuaLoy Dumplings, the Pho Ga and the Pad Thai are 1.2.and 3 the best that we've had at any Main Line Asian restaurant, and we've been to more than a few! Perfect spice, temp, and presentation.
Stopped by for a quick dinner about an hour before closing on a Wednesday. Upon walking in, we learned that they are currently still take-out only due to being short-staffed. The server was very friendly and patient with us while we reviewed the menu and put in our orders. We got the larb gai salad, drunken noodles, and green curry. I was pleasantly surprised that there was the option of adjusting the spice level according to individual preference. We requested the second to highest spice level for each dish and was happy to find that the flavors definitely packed a punch. The food here is great and I look forward to returning.
The food at this place is delicious!
- The Nam Khao Salad (Laotian food) was highly recommended in other reviews, and it definitely exceeded my expectations.
- a bit pricier compared to other thai restaurants, and portion sizes are smaller than usual. So, I gave 4 stars instead of 5.
- If you’re used to spice/heat, go with spicy instead of medium spicy 🌶️

Got the veg/tofu Penang curry for $18 it came with rice. Medium level spice. Also got the cabbage salad All was good
A great restaurant run by mother and son from Laos. We had curry chicken and Nam Khao Salad (Lao Crispy Rice Salad). Both were fresh and delicious. We loved it. The restaurant wasn't busy and we chatted with the waiter, a young guy. It turns out his mother was the cook. The food here is delicious. The restaurant is spacious and clean. I'll definitely come back again.
Delicious food. Pre covid, we went to the restaurant a few times and enjoyed it. Recently, we got take out there-- the take out was just as good. The Nam Khao is my favorite! Reasonable prices. Good variety without an overwhelming number of choices. My boyfriend is Laotian. He enjoys the authentic food. it's nice to have a place near by that makes Laotian food.
Безумно классная кухня и все очень вкусно) работники очень приятные и создают настроение своей улыбкой) 🥰❤️ ))) Insanely cool cuisine and everything is very tasty) the workers are very pleasant and create the mood with their smile) 🥰❤️
I tried this place because I was in the area and it gets great reviews. The Tom Yum soup was flavorless with almost clear broth and undercooked veggies. If it wasn’t take out I would’ve sent it back, it was gross. The green curry tasted good but was basically soup with a side of rice. Stuffed angel chicken wings were ok. Nam Khao salad was really good and the reason I gave 3 stars overall. I might go back for the Nam Khao if I’m bowling at Devon Lanes.
Take out. Terrible. Authentic Thai food dishes have distinct flavors my rice dish and pad Thai all taste the same. The chicken wings and tofu were cooked days ago and heated up. Stale no taste. Terrible.
Absolutely love this restaurant. We have eaten here at least ten times including to celebrate special occasions and it is consistently delicious. Highly recommend the Laotian sausage, Bua Loy dumplings, crispy duck and drunken noodles.
The food here is overall very good. The green curry is spot on, I think we got medium spiciness which was perfect. The massaman was only OK, not authentic, I won’t order it again. The staff are lovely. I haven’t eaten in so can’t comment on the atmosphere.
If you’ve thought “I want to like Thai food, but it’s too flavorful to me,” then this is the restaurant for you!
“Mild” apparently means limited spices (not just mild heat).
Also, they have slow service. Our pickup order was 15 mins delayed.
The food is delicious, and everything tastes fresh, which I appreciate.
I wish they had mango sticky rice throughout the year; I can’t live without it.
Best pho ever. Also the staff is the best!
If you're craving Lao cuisine and don't want to make the trek into Philly, this place is a hidden gem. I can't vouch for their Thai dishes, but when it comes to Lao food, it's a real winner. The angel wings and Lao sausage are standout choices that we can't get enough of. Plus, the owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Without a doubt, I highly recommend giving BauLoy Cuisine a try.
First time eating here. First impression is the restaurant is clean. Presentation of the food is beautiful. But I absolutely love the food. As a Laotian, I asked for authentic papaya salad, and the chef delivered. Taste is spot on! Just the right balance of flavors. My favorite is the nam khao. It was not dry, rather the combination of the coconut and crispy rice make this dish one of the best I’ve ever had. The pepper sauce is perfect. We will definitely be back again to try other dishes! Excellent customer service also.
This is truly the best Thai food I know of. Sweet family and amazing food. We are from NY and freeze it and bring it to NY it is so good!
After five visits to Bua Loy I can say with great confidence that the food has consistently been excellent. The service is friendly and accommodating. Our family favorites are the crispy duck, astonishingly good, silken dumplings in curry sauce, the lovely sausage with a hint of lemon grass, larb gai salad fresh with mint, lime and fish sauce, Tom yum soup clear and brightly flavored and the wide drunken noodles to name a few. Their Thai iced tea is always a treat. In addition, I really appreciate the many vegan options or items that can be made vegan for our youngest daughter’s food preferences! An all around delightful dining experience..
I love me some pho and this place didn’t let me down! They were a bit late for one of my friends food, as I think they forgot to put his order in (we had 6 people total). We weren’t in a hurry and my food was great so…
Asian food with a twist. Different seasoning than Thai or Chinese but very good. The most traditional dish is a pork sausage with interesting spices.
The owner did not care if we stayed for dinner or left.
Fabulous food and service. I will definitely be going back there again soon.
Couldn’t believe the quality, price and taste were for real. What a great find.
I think the food is good, nice spice level but compared to my favourite Thai restaurant it is decent but not wow.
The best food and service hands down. Every time I go here to eat the food is exceptional, everything I’ve tried has been delicious.
First time trying this place. Food was fresh, but everything was very bland. This cuisine is supposed to have flavor. Maybe they had an off day?
Pad see eww was soo dry!! I won’t come here again!! They also just don’t listen to orders.
Been working across the street for almost 3 years now and never got around to checking this place out. Today, i tried the Nam khao salad, and I was not disappointed! The people and atmosphere there is lovely, and despite not really being a fan of rice dishes, the food was exceptional. So wonderfully seasoned, and very cool to have rice wrapped in lettuce leaves. Really delicious, I'm looking forward to trying out more of the other dishes now!
Excellent Laotian and Vietnamese food Friendly and efficient service Excellent pho. BYO
I have tried various things off the menu and the food is always amazing. The staff is also extremely sweet. I left something behind and they waited for me to come back and pick up, highly recommend!
Awesome food... Fresh taste.. very authentic.. ALWAYS pleasant!! Take out only right now related to no one wanting to work..
Wonderful! Always delicious, fresh. The staff is so kind and helpful. The Bua Loy Dumplings in Curry Sauce are outstanding, highly recommend! I also think the Panang Curry and the Pho are delicious! By far the best in the area by a long shot! Enjoy!
The staff was very very nice. Their fried tofu and sauces were good. But the pho basically tasted like weak chicken broth. The other 2 dishes were fine but nothing to trace about. There are other better places I'd go.

Excellent! prompt service, swiftly processed the check, appetizer sampler was excellent, fried rice dish quite flavorful, soup was great.
The best red curry you can get! Everything is so fresh!
Great food, always!
Super friendly staff. Quick and the food is amazing!
It’s definitely food but not good.
2 stars for the portion sizes for takeout and the ceramic ramekins they’re super cute. But it’s really hard to compare any Thai food after I’ve already been to Thailand, so I’ve eaten at the authentic street stands and restaurants there. The chicken pad thai was decent, the chicken was like in tiny slivers, the coconut green curry didn’t have any coconut cream in it (it was very liquidy/runny and the chicken was the same texture, it also wasn’t spicy at all and the only vegetables in it were green beans and carrots), even the sticky rice wasn’t made fresh (it was in a hard brick I could barely pull it apart), even the mango sticky rice was hard it wasn’t easy to break apart at all and I live 5 minutes of this place and they said it would take 15 minutes to make it “fresh” the only thing that was made fresh was the perfectly peeled mango.
PS- then please explain why Thai Singha House in Philadelphia has all the textures, flavors, and consistency that you’re missing?
Everyone has had mango sticky rice on the streets in Chang Mai and it’s not as hard as a rock or dry by any means; it’s supposed to be gooey, warm and flavorful with a mango jam-like texture mixed into the sticky rice before it’s shaped. How do you explain watery curry??
Excellent pad Thai and spring rolls.
Fine Thai food at a reasonable price
I have now gotten takeout from Bua Loy many times, and every time I am delighted with the friendly staff and delicious food. When you order online, The orders are always ready at the designated pickup time. As someone who has developed a love for Thai/ Laos cuisine, having Bua Loy in our local neighborhood is a real treat, and I can't wait to return!
Finally a place that makes things spicy when you ask for spicy. Great food! Love it!
We love this place, when we are bored of making food and we would like something close to homemade and good food, this is our first option. We love this place and pre-pandemic have been frequent visitors. The staff is great as well and remember ur likes and serve you accordingly after confirming. We would wish they continue the good quality of food!!!!
Great experience! Excellent authentic Thai soup! The restaurant was extremely accommodating for us as we were vegetarian. Definitely coming back!
Best Drunken Noodles I've had in years!! My new favorite go-to place for Thai. Excellent service, too!
Impressive food with good service! Highly recommended!
Amazing food. Pad Thai is not sweet and orange like all others locally. Husband is celiac and they are very knowledgeable and accomodating for gluten free. Almost all dishes are gluten free by simply substituting noodles so flavor is amazing.
Yumm food. Good service. Ambiance can be improved post covid 20/21. #supportlocal
1st time ordering food here. It was amazing, we'll be back!
Excellent service. Great food! My go-to place for dinner.
Best thai in the area!
Very disappointing. Used to be better. Ordered one dish — Drunken Noodles — with beef and extra veggies for takeout. Surprise! No beef, or any protein, when I got home. Also a greasy, fishy, bland flavor in the now-vegetarian meal I received. Not appetizing. Wasn’t a busy night — I was the only person picking up when I arrived. One other takeaway order waiting. Lack of attention to a simple meal.
Wonderful Laotian and Thai restaurant not diminished at all as take-out. We live Bua Loy.
Pad see ew is fantastic
We’ve been away for a few weeks, but we’ll be at our PA home soon; we’re planning to binge on our favorites :). So looking forward to the best Thai & Laotian food on the East coast!
****
Absolutely delicious food and top customer service! This place is super clean, cosy, and the food is out of this world! Great place for family get together. We have been there a few times since they opened, and no matter what we ordered from the menu, it was delicious. Everything is fresh, super tasty, and beautifully served. Strongly recommended the 3-5pm time because they get busy very fast.
I'd seen this place online and wanted to try it out, so while we were in the area, we decided to order some food for takeout. They have their menu on the website, which includes markings for vegetarian and gluten-free, which was really helpful. It can be hard to find Asian restaurants that understand gluten-free needs, so that was helpful.
We ordered a few items, calling out that we wanted gluten-free, and then got a call back a few minutes later because some of the dishes we had ordered aren't. That was a nice touch, and we were able to make some substitutions.
All the food tasted great, and we definitely appreciate the fact that they recognize gluten-free!
Ordered Pick Up and it was terrific. We have struggled to find fresh Thai take out in three cities and love this gem. Warning: If you don't like spice order it mild. I like heat and even I struggled with "Hot". "Thai hot" as offered by restaurant must be crazy. The vegetables were fresh the meats delicious. We had Drunkin noodles, Seafood hot Pot, Dumplings and Basil fried rice with Shrimp. This place does it right. Only wish they delivered. We need to support local restaurants like this in these tough days. I will drive to pick up if necessary to get this great Asian fusion!
First: Excellent food tonight. Everything was hot and delicious.
We were missing one entree (it happens!) but they very quickly corrected the situation and delivered it to us with an additional appetizer for free. Great food and great service.
We've ordered from here for the past few years, off and on. Tonight however will be our last. $38 total and we got basil fried w/shrimp that had 3 shrimp it. That's $1 per shrimp due to the premium they charge. Drunken Noodle is now padded out with cauliflower. Lots of Cauliflower. They now also do the annoying "how spicy?" Question... Why? You never did that before and unless you follow the BTU scale how am I supposed to know?
I ordered the Green Curry (Spicy but not Thai Spicy Hot). When I first opened it I was a bit disappointed with how many vegetables there were compared the the meat and broth but boy was I wrong.
After a 20 minute drive home the food was still hot and easily plated. The curry was delicious and the mix of vegetables to meat was good. I would've enjoyed a bit more peppers and onions rather than so many green beans though. The spicy level was perfect as someone who loves a kick to their food. Overall I definitely enjoyed and would recommend you to try this restaurant, though next time I might try a different dish.
Good food. Great service during COVID.
Fresh, authentic dishes and perfect spice. Definitely try the Laotian fare also! Online ordering super easy.
Excellent Thai and oriental cuisine. Always enjoyed the food we got there.
I've eaten in and taken out from Bua Loy Cuisine several times now. Great food and service.
I just stumbled across this place, and I have to say, I'm obsessed. I love Thai food and this place is amazing. My go to for take out!!
Food and service is always great!
My favorite Thai restaurant possibly EVER!! And everyone there is so professional and nice, it just makes an already awesome dining experience that much more memorable— food is always amazing, my favorites being the soups and curry dishes, but basically everything on their menu is great.
Incredible Thai/Laos food, really love the family vibe. Owners are super nice and I love bringing my family here. Food is also really authentic tasting and service is always great
Consistency!
For the first time I visited Bua Loy a week ago on a Saturday night. Ordered the drunken noodle - OMG so good, not greasy, lots of veggies, consistency of the sauce was excellent. Then, I went for lunch this week and ordered the same - UGH, very greasy sauce separation of grease, little veggies and stale tofu! Too greasy to eat. The Calamari appetizer, off the chart good. Not sure if I will return.
Food was fresh and well presented service was great .Owner does all the cooking and her daughter inlaw was our server .She knew all about the cuisine and described it for us making some wonderful recommendations .Wonderful experience and we will certainly be back .Place is BYOB
The food is delicious, every time we go, one a week.
My wife and I have read reviews about this Thai, Laos, and Vietnamese restaurant and decided to give it a try.
Bua Loy in Devon has an unassuming presence, but you can feel the warmth and friendliness as soon as you walk through the door. We were greeted by soft Laotian music and several staff members. Coming from a family of restaurateurs, Bua feels like a family run business.
Our server Brendi was friendly and knowledgeable and had suggestions about the menu. The Nam Khao Salad was a highlight of the meal and my wife’s favorite dish. The Homemade Laotian Sausage was delicious and popped with flavor. The spring rolls were crisp with a flavorful chili dipping sauce.
Brendi recommended we try the stir fry dish Pad Ka Prow with flank steak. A combination of crisp vegetables, buttery beef in a light flavorful broth. For dessert we were hoping to try the Coconut pudding but it was not on the menu so we decided on the chocolate mousse cake which was sinfully dark, rich and delicious. We’d like to thank our server Brendi and Chef Boualoy for a wonderful experience and delicious meal!
Had been for family lunch yesterday, nice and cosy place for sure. We ordered Starters and Entree. The Veg starter we went for was fried tofu; it was very bland and dry. Would recommend to skip it unless you are looking for something with no spice whatsoever. Steamed dumplings with chicken and shrimp was pretty good, must try if you are dumpling fan. In entree we went for chicken drunken noodle and red souse veggie with tofu. Both were pretty good. The servings is small and is good for one person or 2 dishes between 3 persons would be fine. In desserts we went for Chocolate Moose and Fried Banana with ice cream. We loved both the dish and would recommend. The price for dishes are reasonable, $5 for starters and dessert and ~$12 for entree. Overall, the taste was decent but not like other Asian restaurants such as Dan Dan and Han Dynasty.
The food is delicious, whether it is takeout or eat-in. The service when we ate there was very good. They obviously care about their customers. But four out of five times we get takeout, there's a glitch of some sort. Something minor goes wrong with the ordering system or some other weird problem. But in the end: the order is always correct and the food is always absolutely delicious!
This place is a real gem. We love coming here! Everyone is so nice, and the food is fresh and delicious!
This is a very smooth asian cuisine. They are helpful when you wish to alter the cooking. For me that means low salt and mild as for a child.
Fantastic
Phenomenal! The service, the food, the atmosphere all exceptional. Thank you for the great experience
As a family of 5 we visited this Thai restaurant beside Devon bowling alleys. It is amazing and flavorful. The dishes are unique and can be adjusted in its spiciness. My girls loved the pad thai with an authentic sauce. The green thai curry was a great portion with such a creamy mix. I want to go back soon!
Food is amazing! And everyone there is so kind :)
Amazing! The family cares and the food is exquisite. Will be coming back for more.
This is an excellent restaurant. Food is delicious and so fresh! I have eaten here three times and will make this a regular place to frequent! The staff are very professional and the restaurant is clean!
I stopped in for something light and to kill a little time while waiting for my wife. The hosts/server Brendi was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. I ended up getting the sampler platter. The food was all very well made. I live in West Chester and look forward to coming back with my wife regularly. It’s great to see family owned restaurants like this delivering the quality and personality that large chains just can’t touch
Very good food and nice people. Pho is delicious. Spring rolls are great.
Authentic cuisine, the massaman curry was sooooo good! Service here is also excellent.
Authentic Thai/Lao cuisine. Delicious! particular their Thai chili wings and Larb Gai (Laos' national dish, minced chicken with scallion and herbs, lime juice, chili, and fish sauce. We will definitely go back again.
We were going to the Thai Orchid, but they were closed on Sunday, so we looked for another Thai place, and it turned out to be the very first day of this new place. I'm glad we tried it!
The food was consistently delicious and fresh; the native Lao dishes like the cold sour chicken salad and the tapioca root noodle soup were particular standouts. The menu prices are very reasonable, the new decor is appealing, and the service is extremely attentive. I'll be back, and I hope the new place catches on. :)
