Thai eatery in a stylish converted house with tables on the porch & cozy dining nooks inside.
Wonderful experience! Service was very friendly. Clean restaurant. Casual vibe. Great outdoor seating options! The food was outstanding!! I had chicken pad thai, my wife had cashew chicken stir fry with sweet chili sauce, my daughter-in-law had glass noodle pad thai with chicken, and my son had pad kee Mao with pork, spicy enough to dance on your tongue, but not so spicy to have to immediately grab a glass of water. I would highly recommend!! Can't wait to visit again!!
This is our local Thai restaurant, and I should have left them a review before now, after coming here for years! They are reliably, consistently good, and the lovely folks running the place are always friendly and welcoming. We tend to be creatures of habit, so haven't tried everything, but can vouch for the drunken noodle, pad thai, yellow curry, massaman curry, and Tom yum/kha soups, and iced tea. We usually get takeout bc we live so close, but it has a great atmosphere, and it's fun to come for special occasions or when I have friends in the neighborhood.
Tom yum koong soup was too sweet and pad woon sen was too salty and have canned mini corn. I can not remember a restaurant using canned product. With stiff competition of Thai restaurant in portland, this is definitely my least desirable restaurant and unlikely to return.
Great food, fair prices, unbearably comfortable atmosphere and excellent service. Best restaurant in the neighborhood, a joy to discover and then frequently return to.
My absolute favorite Thai place!

Went here to order a mango sticky rice. And the place was so welcoming, service was top tier. The food was delicious.
Definitely will come by again.
Lovely people and delicious food
Great food. Exceptional customer service. Food out in a timely manner. I highly recommend eating here!
I might be Thai Herbs biggest fan. I am from the Bay Area and I am constantly in search of authentic Thai food. This has been the best Thai restaurant I have found in Oregon, and I have tried soooo many. Thai herbs is my addiction, I could not recommend them enough. Their food is rich with flavor, staff is very kind. Iβve had many bland watered down Thai food in Portland, this is quite the opposite. If you donβt like spicy food make sure to ask for very low spice, their medium is very hot, which is very authentic but can be surprising.
I really love the food at this place, itβs amazing! however the service and cleanliness of the restaurant is very poor. the hygiene is the most concerning - the tables we sat at were incredibly disgusting.. seems like they hadnβt been cleaned in months honestly so i cleaned the dirt off myself which wasnβt the best experience :( our server was also very rude for no reason.. wasnβt checkin on us, wouldnβt bring out more napkins when asked, took a very long time to get her attention for water etc.. mustβve been busy iβm assuming but her attitude was not fun to deal with. when we left we decide to tip little (due to service and it being so dirty) our waitress confronted us on the tip amount and starting arguing why she didnβt get tipped more which was uncomfortable to deal with for me.. she would not leave the table till we told her why we left that amount of tip and stormed off. i thought this was pretty inappropriate since so itβs unfortunate that the food is decent but the experience was TRASH.. would not advise to dine in at this place
Very good!!

We found this very nice Thai restaurant really by accident. We were in a rush looking for a place to eat, and although not easily seen from the street it was an awesome find, smallish great for lunch I would say.
Food was prepared earlier in the day and then served up as needed. No fresh ingredients. Even using the 'low bar' scale it wasn't tasty, hot, or good. Some may call the atmosphere eclectic, I would say 'dumpy'. McDonald's may be a better choice. In a word i would say 'Nope'.
First time here. Welcoming, friendly staff. Top tier salad rolls, great orange chicken, and good tea. Will be returning to try more.
I love this thai restaurant. The staff is so kind, and the food is delicious! I have both eaten in and taken out, the food is ready very quickly and the quality is great. Also one of the ladies always draws the cutest cartoon drawings on my to go bags! Absolutely adorable.
Best people best food
Fantastic food with clearly labeled vegan and vegetarian options.
The only "negative" about this place is that they are located up 2 flights of stairs with no wheelchair accessibility options. This really only means that you won't be able to eat in if these restrictions apply to you. The folks working there are more than happy to bring your food downstairs for takeout.
Definitely recommend you check this place out if you are in the area.
Fresh food, great sauces, dialed in spice levels. My kids and I love to pop in. They are open late so itβs a good meal that we can sit down and get quickly after their activities. Service is always great! My kiddos love the strawberry lemonade too.
We are vegan and go here once a week. We look forward to it every time.
Love this place. Itβs our usual go-to.
Lovely cozy place with delicious food. Itβs my go to spot when someone visits me from out of town.
Good food but they gave themselves a higher tip than I wrote on the receipt.
Nice hidden gem. I had a bowl of Tom Kha soup and it was a lot of food. Delicious.
Excellent food and great service. We will be there when we want Thai food... don't have to search for a new place AND it is close! Total winner!
Ambiance outside on a nice day is perfect. The food is decent and the service is so friendly. No frills prices can't be beat either. A solid Thai place in a great neighborhood.
Nice people, really good food, awesome atmosphere! Will be back.
Tom yum koong soup was too sweet and pad woon sen was too salty and have canned mini corn. I can not remember a restaurant using canned product. With stiff competition of Thai restaurant in portland, this is definitely my least desirable restaurant and unlikely to return.
I had the pad Thai and was not a fan of their particular sauce style, the noodles were also too chewy/rubbery. But the service was good and it's a very cute restaurant, the mango sticky rice was great!
My favorite Thai restaurant. The tomka soup is so good.
The food was amazinglygood. Possibly the best Thai I've had around here.
Inconsistent food. Sometimes it's awesome and sometimes not so
I love their Thai food selections.
Great neighborhood restaurant! Love the staff, food, ambiance!!!
Seriously good larb.
So cute and delicious!!
Fantastic food. Friendly servers. In a great location. My wife loves the salad rolls with shrimp & I am partial to the Tom Kha soup. The hummingbird plates are fun too.
One of my favorite Thai places is Thai Herbs. A short drive from Gabriel Park and you're transported into a blast of flavor, good drinks and good food. Not to mention the fried bananas are really good.
A nice neighborhood Thai place. Tried going back with a non-vegetarian friend to try a meat dis, and the lime chicken was underwhelming. But several goodnoodle and curry dishes. So I say, go!
Always love our meals from this place, vegan dishes available. Eggplant basil dish is always fantastic.
Best Thai food Iβve ever had in my life. Iβve been coming here for like 10 years.
Servers were friendly, helpful, and attentive. Food came out fast and was DELICIOUS. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend, I would definitely eat here again.
the atmosphere is top notch and the food was very good. we ordered the pad thai and one of the specials which was essentially a mango curry.
this would be a great place to take family or freinds, with a very laid back and comfortable environment.
Delicious food, great service and plenty of outdoor seating!
Visited for a quick afternoon lunch of pad Thai and sticky rice. Very yummy, will be checking out the other options from the menu. Nice music playing while we ate :)
Wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, the menu prices were better than some of the food trucks we had visited, and the food itself tasted like it was fresh from the garden. As good as the best Thai I've had in Austin, TX.
Great food. Quick service. Friendly staff.
Love this place for thai! Fresh vegetables, the tofu is not fried which I appreciate and fresh rolls are outstanding. Really everything is yummy and fresh.
Great Thai food, nice place to go and eat outside and drink their Thai iced tea.
Best Thai place in Portland
Delicious curry, and salad rolls. I'll return for more... The staff is gracious and very polite.
The food was average.
Had a great dinner. Such a cute restaurant. Good service and price.
Overall really good! Eggplant and other veggies were cooked perfectly. The pad Thai was too dry. We did carry out this time but the restaurant was in a cozy house and smelled great. Iβd return to try other dishes.
I donβt know why this doesnβt have a higher rating! Itβs so delicious and has a great neighborhood restaurant feel. We will be back!
Ordered $50 take out. Portion sizes extremely small. Taste was just ok not great.
Good food, clean, polite staff. tables avail inside and outside, must climb steps to enter.
I will absolutely be going back to the Thai Herbs Restaurant! I LOVE spicy Thai food -- and they have the good chilis; many places will not give you extra spicy even if you ask for 10/10, but I nearly had to tap out because I asked for 20/10... it was the delicious spicy kind of chili. The service and food was amazing on a busy day. Another big thing that I always like to see is that the menu clearly marks what is vegan and vegetarian.
Wonderful food !!!!!
Thai Herb is my goto Thai place. I get the Pad Kee Mao, it is my favorite. Been going here for over 10 years.
The food is absolutely delicious.
Have eaten here twice with different people, all loved our food both times. Little place but the food is wonderful and the women who help you are very sweet.
Delicious and very conveniently located in Multnomah Village. Fast and friendly. Support local π€©π€©π€©
The food here is delicious! The staff is helpful in talking through different options, too. They serve in disposable dishes, so it's not too fancy, but the design works really well with the Multnomah Village area where Thai Herbs is located. You can order to go here then wander next door to Journeys to eat Thai and drink alcohol! This restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, and a set menu with rotating specials. Check in inside, seat yourself, a server comes to the table and you can check out again at the counter when done.
Best Yellow Curry Around!
This place has good food and customer service. It's located in a nice part of town as well .
I don't get the negative reviews, I've ordered takeout several times and it is the best Thai food I've had in Portland hands down. In fact, the Pad Prik King is some of the best I've ever had period, and I moved to Portland from a city that had numerous excellent Thai places. Someone in the kitchen cares. I've finally found great Thai in PDX.
I really really really want to give this place more than two stars but it's during a pandemic take a rag and clean a table sweep the floor have some sanitizer in the bathroom just so simple little things would go a long way. I enjoy Thai salad rolls but I got to give two stars to the environment.
New favorite
Always great food and generous portion sizes.
Great Thai food!
The food was super tasty, well priced, and good portions. I got the Pad Thai w/ chicken, medium heat and dang was it spicy.
Yellow curry was so good and the fried rice was probably the best Iβve ever had
Went here one time and had very flavorless bland food. We had the pineapple fried rice and Pad see ew both our regular orders at many Thai spots. We were very disappointed with the dishes and I doubt we would return.
There are many other better Thai restaurants around here I would suggest City Thai or PK Thai over this restaurant.
Whoever picks up their phone is extremely rude and very angry.
First, someone called me to say my food was arriving two hours late, then they left it at at the doorstep and never called me to let me know it had arrived. The food sat outside for over half an hour until I called them and they told me they left it outside. It was cold and I could see insects in the bag. When I called for a refund I had to argue with someone for five minutes and was told to leave the food at the doorstep for her to pick it up before she could issue a refund, and she hung up on me. Then she called back threatening to charge me with a delivery fee and making sure we left the food outside so she could pick it up, she seemed afraid we were going to eat it π
This was all extremely odd. Definitely never buying there again and do not recommend.
We eat here nearly weekly. The food is very good! Its our favorite Thai food in town! Love the fresh salad rolls , Pad See Ew, yellow curry. The flavors are pretty consistent. The services is great! The people are nice and helpful!
They don't care about customer service! Mistakes were made with our order tonight. We will not be returning and will never recommend this place to anyone, especially for delivery!!
She said 15 mins for delivery ended up waiting over an hour for her to call me back to tell me the driver couldn't find my place.
Then they tried again, driver called me and I couldn't understand what he was saying on the phone. The driver was not friendly nor said "a word once he finally found us.." Really weird.
We got the 2 hour old food. Spent 50$ on food that was reheated (from what she said, not fresh) and our order of green curry was not made the way we asked.
I always call, I mean I order alllll the time from here... I called to tell them about temperature of food and that the green curry didn't have pineapple or greens beans. She offered me $2 refund for pineapple.. Completely ridiculous! She said she could bring me another green curry but I just had to give back the other one... Ummmm lady I've been waiting 2 hours for food my kids are hungry and they are already eating it.
I'm 9 months pregnant and really wanted to be able to enjoy my green curry with pineapple and green beans not wait another hour for more food to arrive. So a bowl of cereal tonight for me.
They wouldn't even credit a green curry dinner ($10 freaking value) after all the issues.
Think about it, had they made me a happy customer and credited me the green curry meal I asked for they would have made hundreds if not thousands of dollars off me because I would have been a returning customer for years to come.
Ughhhhh this was a waist of time and money.
Super flavorful and yummy Thai. Easy to order and really good.
This place is so on point with the ordering system. Their times are always super fast. Every time I get the curry or Thai eggplant it's fantastic and I always tell all my friends where I go
Love this place. They don't use fish sauce in their curries and the tofu curries are vegan without modification. Food is always good, service is always good, speedy... just great!
Nice food, but too Americanized.. papaya salad was too sweet and not spicy enough for example. But service was good, very kind people. Loved their sticky rice mango!
Thai Herbs is one of many great restaurants to try in Multnomah Village, which I would recommend to anyone craving comfort food. This is a great Thai restaurant, but the value here is in the experience they provide. This restaurant has an awesome outdoor seating area that overlooks Multnomah Village, perfect for dining outside or happy hours when the weather is nice.
I feel that although the food is standard for Thai food, the quantity and quality of appetizers at this restaurant make it special. Although all the food is good, combining all the appetizers, soups, salads, and drinks with dinner make it so much more positive than just grabbing some Thai food.
More recently, I ordered my meal online to go. Thai Herbs website is simple to order from, and also allows the ability to easily customize dishes and order in the future.
Legit thai food
They have an atmosphere that makes you feel at home. Great food too!
Good food at a reasonable price. Service was ok.
Great stuff.
Good size helpings. Nice food. Friendly staff.
Jan 13/2020
My husband and kids ordered to go about two weeks ago,
And when we got home, the dinner was a small portion
And they charged us for the regular size, we also ordered
Our dishes a Medium on spices, it was so low on spices the food was very bland!
We thought to give them a second chance today, so my daughter and I went to take to go, she ordered a noddle dish and I ordered a chicken stir fry dish, and my daughter had to tell them about the spice level, we asked for medium so she rudely said to us we go by number 1-4 so we said 3 since last time we got 2 and there was no taste the food! So she says ok so you want spicy, I tell her we want spice level 3 not 4 so a high medium, so she tells me ok so spicy!
We go home and the food was soooo spicy that we couldnβt eat it, I had to cook more rice to mix it with my dish just so itβs edible, Iβm from the Middle East and me and my family are use to spicy foods, but sadly this was terrible!
Reliably delicious and speedy Thai food!
Fun with family. Food was the best. Restaurant a little small but in summer there is outside seating. Put it on your list.
My first visit here with another family and we were underwhelmed. The server seemed to have a problem with us requesting a split check, then food took forever to arrive. Order came in slowly, so two people had plates in front of them and no sign of the rest of our order. One person got the wrong order and no apology and another LONG wait. We had to ask for more water as the follow up service was non existent. To top it off we got a 20% gratuity automatically added and the service definitely did not warrant that. We will not be return customers.
Slow service anger got the order wrong. Automaticaly added 20% tip for poor sercice.
Good value, great taste
Very nice Thai standard, basic accommodations but good vibes and nice people. Priced well.
Delicious and fresh food
I very rarely leave poor reviews... I was so excited to try this place out... One of the worst dining experiences I have had. Took 35 minutes for the food(ehh not too bad), got an entree with items in it that wasnβt listed on menu. Asked for a new entree as mushrooms were not listed. They brought back the plate just pulled out most of the mushrooms. They still left mushrooms in it after they said they would βmake us a new oneβ. Mushrooms are an allergy of mine, luckily I followed my gut and looked through the dish before eating again. We never got the beverage we ordered (hot water and lemon) apparently they donβt have hot water or lemons here. Went to pay for our food and asked to not pay for the dish they made mistakes on and they argued with us and blamed us for their mistakes. Wonβt eat here again. Also ate pad Thai during Multnomah Days they were serving and it was hardly edible. Disappointed in the service and food.
Great food! Quaint spot.
Great vegan options and when i asked for my spice level to be hot they did not hold back. It was DELICIOUS.
Excellent coconut prawns and lemongrass chicken.
Delicious appetizers and main courses with plenty of vegetarian choices, yay!
thai herbs was the first restaurant we went to the day we moved to multnomah village. after a super stressful day of moving, my partner bringing me some good take out pad thai really hit the spot. i've since also tried their chicken pad kee mao, which was even better than their pad thai. all in all, thai herbs provides yummy thai food with a pleasant wait staff and lovely outdoor seating. they're also right next door to a bar called journeys, so it's fun to eat dinner at thai herbs then skip over to journeys for some beer or wine on their patio or front yard. with so many thai restaurants in portland it can be difficult to determine which ones stand out from the pack, but as far as SW portland goes, thai herbs has little competition for the area and is quite good in its own right. definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and have a hankering for good, well-balanced thai food.
Best thai food in Oregon. Everything is made to order and very fresh. I take my family there once a week! Wouldn't eat anywhere else after eating here. Very calm and serene. Bring your family here to enjoy a little thai cusine!
Didn't dine in, but the pad Thai is some of the better pad Thai I've gotten and my wife loved the yellow curry. You guys gotta figure out that card machine though, took me way too long to pay.
The sweet basil is the best dish!!
Consistently good
Liked it! Good spot!
I was surprised at the low quality of our food after reading through these reviews. My husband's pad thai was bland, with too much fish sauce and his pork was well overcooked and dry. My curry's shrimp was overcooked and chewy, and the sauce also bland. No heat at all. My mother's coconut green curry was ok, but nothing special. My Dad's drunken noodles fit the same boat. A very underwhelming experience.
They also were out of most of their beverage options, on a Friday night!
The staff was friendly and gracious, however, so they earned the place a couple of stars.
Delicious food cooked to order.
It's nice to have such a great Thai restaurant on this side of town. The food was delicious, portions were great and the service was lovely.
Spring rolls are consistently excellent. I've eaten here a few times, usually closer to 4 stars but tonight's meal of medium spicy curry was mild at best and my dining partners pad Thai was the blandest pad Thai I've ever tasted. Still, reasonably priced, fast service and I'll likely be back (but will order something different)
Best pad ki mow on the west side. The perfect amount of vegetables and spice. Can be a little bit of a wait during dinner time rush, but can be avoid by doing take out. I am sweating just thinking about their food.
Second vist...and fish cakes rocked like the first time...entrees were good...server could use a little husrle his step...
Good food, short wait
Best Thai food, just went for the first time today and might go back for dinner! Peanut sauce is amazing!
