Thai Bloom! attracted attention in the Portland food scene early on by garnering a coveted position on the Portland Food Adventure. So it was only natural that we take our place among the area’s finest dining establishments by opening our second restaurant at 333 NW 23rd Avenue in the Northwest District of downtown Portland. As with our Beaverton location, the restaurant reaps high praise from patrons and enjoys a loyal following.
What an amazing dinner did we have at this restaurant. We had the Wonton soup as entree and shared the Crispy Duck and the Seasonal Beef Pumpkin Curry... bomb!! This restaurant brings depth of flavours and true substance to each bite. The portions are generous and the staff peaceful and light. We fell in love with Thai cuisine thanks to this restaurant.
We noted this restaurant and will keep it in our hearts for the future. Thank you!
Very tasty restaurant for some good Thai eats. The stir fry was excellent with plenty of spices and heat, just the way Thai food should be. Thai iced tea was excellent and service was top notch. Food was quick and plenty of check ins while seated outside. They even have little heaters by the tables for those colder days.
Thai Bloom Restaurant is a wonderful place to enjoy authentic Thai cuisine in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. I recently had the pleasure of dining here, and I was blown away by the delicious food and excellent service.
One of the standout dishes I tried was the Pad Thai, which was perfectly seasoned and had just the right amount of heat. The Tom Yum Soup was also excellent, with a complex balance of spicy, sour, and savory flavors.
The restaurant's ambiance is serene and inviting, with warm lighting and tasteful decor that creates a calming atmosphere perfect for a night out with friends or a romantic dinner. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure that my dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish.
Another dish that stood out was the Massaman Curry. The beef was tender and the curry was flavorful, perfect to complement with the fragrant jasmine rice.
Overall, I highly recommend Thai Bloom Restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious Thai dining experience with top-notch service and a tranquil atmosphere.
My favorite Thai restaurant in the entire Portland metro area, and I’m not alone in that opinion- coworker, friends, family agree. Food is excellent.
Best Thai food I've had in a hott minute. $40 a head (drinks, appetizer each, and the main dish) is a little high but there were zero complaints about flavor or choice. The curry puffs were listed as seasonal but dang that was the best short crust I've ever eaten in my life. Get them before they're gone you won't regret it.
Favorite Thai restaurant

If I cant finish an egg roll, there’s a problem. I eat veggies, I prefer pork egg roll, but these were bland. Also, crab fried rice was 2 out of 5, I expected plenty of crab for over 25$.
Recommended for sure.
All around a Great Experience at also a Good Price.
We love eating here! They have consistently tasty food, a great happy hour (and all-day happy hour on Sunday) and they do amazing takeout as well. It used to be our nearest neighborhood thai food, but after moving we still drive across town because it’s the one we like best!
This place actually has a good level of heat at their highest. It's enough to make me want to lower the level in the future.
Food is high quality and good portions. Great Thai food experience!

Fantastic food with great service.
The best Thai I’ve ever had. I had the Massaman Curry as my entree, which was extremely flavorful. I’m also amazed by how loaded up it was with chicken, peanuts, and veggies. So many Thai restaurants seem to skimp on these and the curry is more like a soup. Will definitely be back next time in Portland.
Perfect place with amazing food. We have tried 2 locations in Pdx metro. Clearly labeled vegan options. Good portion size and fast service.
Delicious food, large portions, reasonable price—what more can you ask for? Ate here two days in a row on my weekend visit to Portland.
Great food as usual
Service is good
However… before I could enjoy my meal we were hit in the face by the WORST Smell, because someone from the back kitchen whom I believe was the plunger -He walked by right behind my son -who was taken back by the smell and it ruined his appetite immediately ,
and then the same person walked back by which threw my son right out the restaurant with discontent and disgust 🤮
Please!!! ….keep the filthy staff in the back. The shouldn’t ever be inside the restaurant around patrons who are trying to enjoy their atmosphere and food
Make sure your staff are clean regardless due to the fact they work around food and people
The yellow curry is awesome
Best pad Thai I’ve ever had
Thai Bloom’s seasonal menus is fantastic! We went last night and the service was great - multiple servers promptly checked in and anticipated our needs (thanks so much!) and our server knew the menu well. But what was especially noteworthy was the Crispy Trout with Green Apple Salad. I think the apples make this dish sound weird, but the dish was actually super tasty! I now have two very favorite fried fish salads - one at Phuket Cafe and one here at Thai Bloom. If you get a chance, try it out!
This is our regular Thai restaurant. It never disappoints. I always get the pad khee mao with chicken. I had the potstickers once during happy hour, which were good too.
Super impressed the service was amazing. The pineapple fried rice with chicken was to die, for I had pork and ginger potstickers (they steam them) . I truly wish there was another option because I barely eat pork.. but still wonderful
I stopped here because I was supposed to go to Thailand in February 2022, but they still hadn't figured out their CoVid regulations, so I thought, "Well, I might as well eat here as a consolation." Reluctantly ordered khao soi because I wanted to wait until I had it in Chiang Mai, but man...the khao soi at this place is outstanding! And now that I'm officially in Chiang Mai and eat khao soi at least once a week, I can honestly say this place is as authentic as it comes! The staff were extremely kind and willing to share their story with me as well. Highly recommend this place for authentic northern Thai food!
Food came fast, really good service, I drink a lot of water and my glass was never empty, the tom kha was really good, the Bangkok noodles wasn't the best, but that was my fault ( didn't reed about all the ingredients).
Delicious cashew chicken!!!
Taste was great. The server was so friendly. Love to come back soon.
The Duck has a perfectly crispy skin with a sauce that compliments it very well. The Crab Fried Rice is delicious with a pleasant amount of crab, and interestingly the rice was not crispy.
I used to come here all the time living in Portland my favorite place to eat ever!!! It’s so good that I moved to Washington 50 minutes away from here and I drive here every now and then because it’s so good! Best Thai ever! Salad rolls are a MUST! :-)
Love this restaurant. Second time that I have been here. Great food and excellent service.
Always yummy! Love the green curry.
Great Thai food and very friendly service. We came in late close to closing hours but we're still served food, tea and helpful explanations on the dishes.
OMG…absolutely amazing. In town visiting our daughter and she’s taking us to all of her favorite places. This was literally the first stop right after we picked my parents up from the airport. The food was incredible and our server was wonderful. I am sorry i didn’t get her name because she was really friendly and attentive, especially considering we were a group of 8. Super cool place and definitely look forward to going back next time we’re in town!
P.S. I was hungry and excited and forgot to take photos of our meals but got one of the fried banana dessert!
Some great options here with very helpful staff. Cocktails are clever and good is delicious.
Would rate 0/5 if possible
Me and my family had one of the worst experience with Thai Bloom recently
Their online ordering system is very detailed on what to include and what to exclude. Because members in my family have food allergies, I ordered specific omissions. I also mentioned the allergies on the notes section. On delivery, it felt like none of the directions was considered. So when I called back, the person on the phone recommended I throw away the food when I offered to return it. This was completely un professional after gross negligence on their part catering to food allergies.
When I called back, the “manager” suggested that I file a complaint and some one will get back to me. 3-4 days there was no follow up or even a call back to try and rectify the pathetic behavior. The lack of awareness or empathy towards addressing a serious issue / complaint makes me believe that they are just a big chain just hoping nothing goes wrong
IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES, THEN BEST TO AVOID THIS PLACE. THEIR SYSTEMS OR CHEFS DONT REALLY REGARD DIRECTIONS
I use to enjoy this place and have used them for corporate catering orders. Will definitely put a stop to both going forward
My friend and I went here after visiting the Japanese Garden. I got the yellow curry and she got a red curry. We were both really happy with our meals, the curry was so good I could drink it out of a cup lol. All of the staff there were really nice and attentive, they stopped by ofen to fill our water.
The dishes were so sweet and tasteless. Nothing Thai about this and no flavor.
Please do not eat Satay it was so bad not even fully cooked.
First time dining here, and we were blown away. The service was wonderful and the food was amazing! Since we hadn’t been before, we walked in and were able to be seated immediately. However after a few minutes the restaurant was totally full, so I would recommend reservations. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We will definitely be returning!
The food here was amazing. The service was the same. The server came to check on us very often. There was someone always refilling our water. This is probably one of my favorite Thai resturants now. The food was so good too. I got a crab dish with some curry puffs and my fiancé got drunken noodles. The portions were plentiful, but the quality of food didn't go down. Great cook. Also, the tea was delicious.
My party had the Pad Thai Noodles with shrimp, Drunken Noodles with chicken and shrimp, spring rolls, dumplings, spicey chicken wings and the chicken fried rice. The spring rolls were fried too hard and had the oil taste on them and the dumplings were okay. The Drunken Noodles were absolutely amazing with either chicken or shrimp! The food came out hot and quick and our service was good. Definitely a spot to visit!
Favorite Thai place in NW! The food is always delicious and the dinner portions are fantastically huge, always nice to have yummy leftovers for lunch the next day!
One of my favorite Thai restaurants and I've had a lotttt of thai
Delicious, server made excellent suggestions what to order
Best Thai food around.
Very good food, and a very nice waiter. I tried the garlic pork and thought it was great. Thank you.
Amazing food, great portions, amazing service by Dana.
I don’t review restaurants often unless they’re exceptional. This place is absolutely the best pad Thai I’ve ever had across multiple countries.
Large portions of food for a relatively small price. Great service as well. I had the chicken pad Thai and my brother had suki stir fry - both were amazing.
best place ever. amazing atmosphere. Employees are pretty chill even with me being a picky eater. I love it!
Best salad I've had in a decade (and I don't say that lightly). Their summer menu includes a fried asparagus salad, and WOW, delicious! Get here before the seasonal menu goes away!
They were open to having my mastiff puppy join me on the outdoor patio, very grateful for the friendly service and delicious food!
Delicious food. Was quite spot to eat.
Thai Bloom! has an enormous menu that gives you so many Thai options you could probably come here everyday of the month and still have something new to eat. I wouldn't say there is anything that sets Thai Bloom! apart from other Thai places in Portland besides their incorporation of crab in a lot of dishes (which taste amazing).
If you're in the NW 23rd area and craving some Thai food, it doesn't get much better than this place. I recommend!
I ate one of the super spicy Thai chilis out of my dish and started legit crying from pain. That was my own fault. My server gave me a secret concoction that eased the burn almost immediately. I am forever grateful. The food was delicious otherwise.
Went here to grab a quick "Grab-N'-Go" since I had a full schedule that day, service with a great and friendly smile was quick and to top it off; wasn't missing any items from my order! (I'm looking at you #McDonalds )
Will definitely go here again for sure!
We are from out of town and ate there last night. We ordered the Tom Kha soup which was delicious with its creamy coconut broth and tender mushrooms and spices. Thankfully there were chilis in the broth that gave a delicious fire and complemented the entire soup. Next we had tofu pad Thai. This came in a generous portion and spices were decent. We added a Penang curry to round off the meal. The flavours were there but we were disappointed to find this usually spicy dish (elsewhere) had no heat whatsoever. In actuality it was bland. I’ve never had a curry that had no fire. For that reason I give a 👎🏼 to the meal. It was disappointing when the main dish was a let down.
Great food with excellent service!!
Our waitress gave us attitude for asking to change tables at the very beginng. It wasn't even busy. The food was mediocre at best. I've had better thai food at half of the thai restaurants I've tried and I always eat thai no matter where I am.
Best drunken noodles I've ever had (except the cartilage, but what are ya gonna do). Also saw Laura Linney while I was in there. Kinda cool. Good looking lady. Hope you enjoyed my dumb review of this nice place. K bye.
Left without ordering. Lost probably $80 four top because would not sell from the kids menu to the 13-year-old. Only available to those under nine. Would not budge, lost our business.

This place is good but definitely hasn't dethroned my favorite Thai place of all time. I ordered the drunken noodles, one of my favorite dishes, and the flavor was great but I felt like it was a little bit dry.
The service was okay, I had to get someone's attention myself when I needed more water and to ask for a box, which was a little off putting given it was slow and there were maybe two other tables with guests.
I'd glad eat here again if someone else picked it, but I don't know that I'd choose to get Thai here over some of the other restaurants I've eaten at in Portland.
Some interesting dishes not found at every Thai restaurant
Fresh veggies, good food!
Came here during my trip to Portland. How delicious it was is memorable. Cannot overstate how delicious the food was. The staff was also so amazing, our waitress was SO attentive and sweet. Would definitely come again and would recommend.
Very friendly staff, very good food. Portions were so big that I didn't plan to ask for dessert but when they told me about the sweet coconut & mango rice I had to have it and I'm glad I did! It was wonderfully flavored rice with a coconut sugar glaze and half a mango. My entre was also very good. I had the steak salad which tasted savory, bright, and invigorating. So glad we stopped here!
Great food!
Had a nice dinner with out of town family.
Downtown location.
Waiter was super friendly..
Loved the food.. Service is quick..
Really great food, and very welcoming
This place's badass Thai food spoiled me forever, and I've been to Thai restaurants across the entire country... Czech it out!
This place never disappoints me. Try the drunken noodles, chicken cashew and their rolls. Their Thai tea is also really good.
Oh my delish as always . The wings the Satay I want them to be in my personal kitchen. Waitstaff are wonderful it's check it out
First time visit. Seating right away. Prompt service. Many items to choose from on menu. Prices are pretty average for meals, 15 to 28 dollars a plate. Portions are good for the meal and price. Flavor was good. Chop sticks came with meal, a fork was available too. Entry accessible with wheelchair along with spacious dining area. Will go again to try other items.
The curry is so good! I'm from out of town and came here on a rainy day. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and definitely has delicious food that warms you up! 😋 I ordered the Pineapple Curry and was intrigued to see grapes and cherry tomatoes in it. The broth was creamy, well-spiced, and the tomatoes were an excellent carrier for all the flavors in the curry. Thanks for being so welcoming to a stranger!
Wonderful food, top-notch service, such lovely and friendly people. Atmosphere is a little too bright for me, but still a good spot.
Always delightful and balanced, our favorite among the Portland Thai places.
Stopped in on a lark for a quick lite bite. We were blown away by the pot stickers and Tom yum soup. We were warned the plates were large, but they looked and smelled wonderful. Still hoping at 9PM. The host was unengaging, but our server more than made up for it.
Nice place with good food and nice service. Papaya salad is too spicy btw
I ordered some catering for a film shoot, and it was a hit! Looks like the yellow curry went the fastest, but people also loved the ginger chicken and the salad rolls. The staff were so accommodating of our food sensitivities and made it super easy to put in our order online. They even helped me carry the large order to my car in the slush/snow outside.
Best pineapple fried rice ever.
I was greeted when walked in, my order was ready and I was on my way quickly.
My one problem was the fact there was no way to not tip using my debit card, I like to tip with cash
Amazing! Unique menu, original cocktails, and they were all delicious. Service was great
Nice place to eat Thai food. It's very clean and the service is great. The prices are little spendy and portions are ok. If you like it spicy you better let them know. This was the first time here and thought it would be spicy but "No" if you love spice ask them to spice it up. If you don't ask it's not spicy at all. The pineapple fried rice was fantastic must try. We also had the pad Thai noodles and it was to sweet for my taste. Overall a good location and decent Thai food.
Went here for lunch and all of the food was so delicious! You locals need to give this place for business and they definitely deserve it.
The staff were all super friendly. The service was quick. The food presentation and dishes were all great. We got the Yellow Curry and Cashew Chicken, sooo good!!!
Will return whenever I find myself back in Portland.
A nice Thai place with multiple locations and a very large menu. We went for happy hour, for which they have a large food and drink menu. Substitutions are not an issue: the server replaced the banana liqueur in the Pineapple Express drink I ordered without any issues when I asked since I do not enjoy bananas. The Pad Thai was decent; first time Thai diners would likely enjoy the dish, but more experienced Thai connoisseurs will have had better elsewhere. The Tom Kha soup seemed overfilled with veggies that were undercooked; it would have almost worked better as a curry. Overall, a fine local chain that is neither exceptional nor disappointing. In two words: not impactful.
Had a sweet 16 that desperately needed help and Thai bloom came through. Thank you so much
Open area seating. Fabulous service. Wonderful food! Quite enough for enjoyable conversation.
Fantastic dine-in Thai food. There’s something really special about Thai Bloom’s atmosphere - whether it be the service, the area, the happy hour delicacies. This is a high recommendation for those looking for an exquisite date spot, with great food & drinks in another beautiful part of Portland.
My only recommendation is to bring the Bags of Gold back 🥺
Great food. 10/10
Excellent food and excellent service!
Great food and exceptional service. Was offered tea and water while I waited for my to-go order. Will be back regularly!
I enjoyed this place. Beef and broccoli was delicious. I would definitely go back.
We were in Portland visiting our daughter for the first time in 2020 and looking for a vegan friendly restaurant. We found Thai Bloom! and enjoyed it so much we went back again before we left. It’s become a must now when we visit.
Really wanted to like it. Maybe it’s just not my kind of Thai. Ordered pad Thai, my benchmark meal at any Thai restaurant. It was very, very sugary and had a heavy sauce. Not my style.
Great food, good service, however our server Colton did not show up for D&D.
Colton was a fantastic server!!! He didn't show up for D&D tho... 4 stars.
Colton was a fantastic server. But he didn't show up for DND. He's just so dedicated to serving good Thai Food.
Just spectacular… everything a restaurant should be!
Best! Still owe them tho. 90$ tip
A little on the expensive side given other Than options nearby... But food and service was great.
Delicious Thai food with fantastic service. Tried the Tom Yum soup, fried rice and string beans with chicken. All three were fantastic...esp the soup which tends to be sour in most places but was spicy and flavorful here.
As someone who loves to cook and eat thai food, this place is top notch. We ordered seafood cream cheese wonton, kratong thong, pad thai and fisherman's fried rice. Everything was made to perfection and the presentation was also beautiful. The portions are generous and very reasonably priced. I can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu. You must eat here if you love Thai food!!
The BEST Thai food!!! Every dish we've gotten there has been a success.
Delicious food and good service! Their curry is flavorful and the eggplant was delicious.
Coffee was good but the all of basic foods were a miss for me. Tasted a bit powdery, might be an overuse of certain dry spices.
SUCH good food!!! My girlfriend and I had an amazing time eating here.
Great service and food. We were visiting for a long weekend, got dinner here once and tried to go again because it was so good, but they were closed to labor day.
Some of the best Thai that I have found in Portland.
Friendly staff, generous portions and good food.
Awesome place, great food, good ambience, lots of food options for vegetarians as well
Visiting friends and we went to their favourite Thai food place! Thai Bloom really impressed me. I can't do spicy so they were able to accomodate my request. I have the ginger chicken with rice and the only reason I stopped is because I started to expand from drinking so much water with the rice! Definitely a place to check out. The left overs were just as yummy!
Delicioso
Our experience here was so amazing! We got the Khao Soi and the Drunken Noodles. We also got a free thai iced tea for downloading the app! Everything was outstanding. The service was super quick and everyone was so friendly too! Portions were also huge. We brought half our food home for leftovers. My favourite was the Drunken Noodles - I’m still dreaming about it…
Food was fantastic! We arrived early (5:30pm) and it was empty and quiet. Free parking in back. Sat down and service was prompt (and very nice!). Ordered yellow curry, chicken satay, chicken dumplings, and pineapple fried rice. Everything was delicious and portions were ample. By the time we left the place was getting full and loud but it was still a very pleasant atmosphere.
Great service, great food, reasonable prices. Food is popping with flavor. Large menu with lots of choices.
The food here is Hit or Miss sometimes it's amazing and sometimes it's absolute dog food
