We serve thai food, Vegetarian,Vegan and gluten free option.Reasonable price.
Yes, it's a food cart. And yes I gave five stars to service and atmosphere because I honestly do not care about those things when the food is this good. Eggplant noodles with pork, medium spice was SO GOOD. There's parking right behind it where you pay at a kiosk on the corner. I was completely hoovering this lunch and I still had leftovers for another full meal. But really the important part is how delicious the food was.
Best Thai food in Portland! Great service, nicest people, great prices for the quantity of food! Their pad Thai is my death row meal! Thai tea is also amazing.
This is the best Thai food on the block! I got their Yellow Curry lunch special with their soup and iced coffee for $10. It was extremely good and you could tell they care about how their food tastes. They also treat their customers with extreme expect. As others have said, the portions are very generous and I would even agrue you could buy one meal and share with someone else.
Highly reccomend and will keep going back!
Service with a smile, and amazing quality and portion sizes for the price! It can get pretty busy during popular hours, but its worth the wait. The owners of this cart really are trying to provide the best prices for their customers. They're probably the only place I've seen that's recently dropped their prices a bit, after having to raise them a while ago due to economy politics.
Pictured is the chicken pad kee mao with broccoli instead of mushrooms
P.S. - if you like your food super spicy, you gotta REALLY emphasize that. Their "spicy" is moderate, but I am a bit of a spice fiend.
The Pad Kra Pao was really great. The food came out very quickly, and the owner was super friendly.
Ordered today, as I have so many times since moving to Portland. They've always gotten my order exactly right, except for today. I ordered Pad See Ew with chicken and it came with pork instead. I don't eat pork, so I basically just wasted my money. Didn't realize until I had transported it all the way home. Disappointing.
Poompui is my go to lunch spot when I’m in the office. I’ve frequented them for about 3 years. They offer vegan versions of most items. My favorite is vegan pad see ew with tempeh, which is wide rice noodle with broccoli, carrot, and cabbage stir-fried with black soy sauce. Delicious, filling and reasonably priced. Pad see ew runs $8.

I had their pumpkin tempura and it was AMAZINGggg , so was the noodles, I’ll be back!

Used to have great noodles and good tempeh, but prices have gone up and quality has gone down.
The food is fine, rice a little mushy and bland - just be aware that the prices on the website are totally out of date. So $4.5 vs $6 and $8 vs $11. I asked them about this super politely just letting them know it’s out date and maybe could I get refunded this difference? The women didn’t even talk to me, just ignored me and rolled her eyes like I’m a Karen. Idk even a little customer service like “oh sorry yes it’s out of date! No I can’t refund the different but we’ll update it!” I get this isn’t a big difference it just wasn’t very nice… So idk maybe that’s too much to ask but Idk if it’s good enough to back. Just something to take into consideration if you’re look at them online.
What a great value with delicious food! A reasonably good portion for $11 (not including tip). I ordered the eggplant noodles and the eggplant was so perfectly fried. No wonder this cart is so popular. Previously I’ve just had their teas, but now I’m fully on board with the food.
I went back for dinner for 3 people including potstickers for an app and a Thai Iced tea...for just under $40!
Got to try their Mango Fried Rice (with shrimp) Crispy Cashew Chicken and Tom Kha soup. Everything was fresh and tasty, I just wish i would have asked for more spice. Thai Iced Tea hit the spot especially for only $2.50!
Best Thai food ever ate
Big portions without the big price tag. Good enough, but not incredible in my opinion. I drop by every now and then when I’m feeling noodles. Always fills me up, which can’t be said for a number of other food carts
Always fast, delicious, friendly, and such great prices!
My go to Thai takeout. Everything is delicious, no wrong choice. The price is affordable and the portions are very generous.
Fantastic dishes right next to PSU
Asked for extra spicy and it is pretty spicy but seems like it's just more dried hot chilis they add, which gives you a pretty hot bite and wears off quickly. The pad thai flavor tastes like it should, and is close to my old standby Chicagoland Thai place Roseded Too that I loved. The crispy garlic chicken is new to me but it's delicious too. Large portions so I'll have leftovers for dinner. Items seem to be $10-11 each so not bad at all.
love love love this food cart! i go here almost every single day since it’s near where I live and psu campus. crispy basil chicken with rice, pad thai and a thai green tea is the wayyy!
Best Thai food in Portland and the owner is so sweet. I moved away, but I used to get the pumpkin avocado curry at least once a week. Spice levels are always exactly where you need them to be, portions are generous, and ingredients are fresh. Easily the best place to get food in Portland. I would eat there every day if I could.
Very nice people and FANTASTIC Praram Curry. Just delicious.
Best Thai tea deal in Portland! 24 oz for 2.50! I also ordered the sweet sticky rice and mango and it was AMAZING!!
Best peanut sauce I've ever had in my life. Amazing pad Thai too. Nice and spicy. Heavenly experience.
Great lunch specials, fast, so friendly, interesting drink menu.
so freaking good
Got the pad Thai, Asian pumpkin curry and eggplant noodles and it was so good! Would go again, great price and portion sizes and great customer service. First time trying eggplant noodles and would recommend highly!
The crispy chicken is too thin with really thick flour.

Delicious thai food for a great price! My favorite food cart!
This place got me through college. Delicious food. Amazing price. High quality.

Their drinks are cheap and SO GOOD. Smoothies with fresh fruit and a good consistency. All while offering great entree options. Thanks!
Also, the lady at the window has amazing customer service & i’m always happy to see her!
Best prices in town and the food is super tasty as always
Always GREAT food! Definitely my go to place at the Sw 4th food cart pod at Portland State University!
decent curry... nothing mind blowing... well made.
One of the best Thai food places in the university district. Food is affordable and very tasty!!
CHEAPEST YET HIGH QUALITY THAI FOOD IN PDX. Love this food cart!!
$2 Thai iced tea. So good!
It didn't taste like they put any flavor into it. It was really bland! The pad kee mao, pad see ew, and thai fried rice all tasted the same and they didn't taste like much. Sorry if this is harsh :-/ But I thought it was going to be really good from the other reviews!
Got the yellow curry and Thai coffee drink.
Curry was pretty good :) hit the spot and filled me up.
The drink was interesting; never had Thai tea mixed with coffee, but it works! Really liked it!
I absolutely love this place and haven’t had a bad experience in the two years I’ve been going here. Tea and coffee, stir-fries, noodles, curries, smoothies— everything is incredible and has the spicy and sweet goodness of Thai food. My favorite is pad cashew with tempeh!
I'm going to miss this place. It has the best Curry and Spicy Fried Garlic Chicken over rice, check it out. The lady is also verryyy nice.
Authentic and delicious Thai food at an affordable price!
Some of my favorite Thai food in Portland! It’s consistent, delicious, friendly, and affordable. I love the lightly breaded and fried tempura, the Pad Kee Mao always has that delicious caramelization that sometimes is missing from other places, and their green curry with eggplant is melt in your mouth delicious! They have great attention to detail, I really appreciate how they leave the box of your tempura open, so it doesn’t get soggy in the bag!
You can get pad thai, pot stickers, and a giant Thai iced tea for $8.50. where else can you find that? Nowhere. This place rules.
Very delicious! And very good portions.
Low price Thai food cart plenty of variety and great service
Probably the best pineapple curry I've had in YEARS. 10/10, would definitely recommend it and their smoothies!
Yum!!
As a PSU student, I’m literally addicted. The drunken noodles are to die for. There’s a reason that it’s always busy!! I’ve had a bunch of different things from the menu and they’re always so fresh delicious!

Highly reccomend and will keep going back!
Amazing. Love this place. They are very vegan considerate and treat their customers with the utmost respect. Definitely worth buying food from.
I've tried their fried garlic chicken and their Pad Ke Mao, both have been fantastic. The best thing there though, is the Thai Iced Tea. $1.50 for 24oz is a great deal, and it tastes incredible too. Plus, the staff are always very friendly
Great lunch deal, pretty good food too.
Delicious! I got the Cashew nut stir fry. Got in Hot super delicious!
Good yellow curry with tofu.
Great Thai, best downtown!!
Well priced and delicious with tons of vegan options. I’ve been grubbing here for years.
SO GOOD! Probably my favorite Thai cart in downtown, really delicious and generous curries at a great price. I'm not the only one who loves it, they can get very busy at lunch, but definitely worth the wait.
I've never had something here that I didn't love. Plus their tempeh is delicious!
Comida thai muy buena, barato y con abundancia. El té thai es muy famoso
Great ice teas for only $1.50 and also good customer service
Best Thai cart in portland and the PSU area.
I ordered coconut noodles for the first time. The portion was large, the flavor was good, but there were hardly any of the promised green beans in the dish. Just some small pieces scattered through. A bit more chicken, but not a lot either. I guess that is what you get for the low price that they charge, probably due to the competition around them. Next time I will pay more for extra vegetables.
TLDR: Best food cart in the pod! ♡♡
~ Massive menu!
~ Great prices and big portions.
~ The large selection of curries are delicious.
~ Try salad wraps and Thai Tea too.
☆☆ Very fast service!! ☆☆
A huge menu with lots of different options, there is something for everyone! Their curries are particularly delicious and they have a large selection as well as creative and festive specials, and they don't skimp on the meat! Note that the spicier you get it they just add more chili flakes. Their prices are reasonable and the portions are pretty big (very filling). In addition they're really quick to have your food ready even when they're busy, so you never have to wait long. The salad rolls are generally immediately ready and very filling and delicious, I didn't even like tofu until I got hooked on those rolls! (Perfect for in a rush or on the go). The Thai Tea is very popular, delicious, and cheap as well, I recommend it.
This is pretty much the only food cart I go to in this pod, they're just amazing and very friendly. They are competitive which has forced the other carts step up their game, so thank to Poompui for the improvement of the other carts in the pod. You can't go wrong with choosing this food cart, and no other cart beats the selection they've got on their menu! :)
Absolutely LOVE the pumpkin curry!!
Highly recommended food cart. My favorite one on Portland for sure.
Amazing food!
Best Thai food on the block and in the PSU area. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu...
I came here last week and ordered Tim kha noodle soup. It tasted delicious but was too messy for work lunch and took such a long time to get that I was late coming back from my lunch hour. Today, I called ahead to order the same soup, but with no noodles. I really liked it because there wasn't all the things I dislike in a lot of tom kha soup, like tomatoes and giant peices of onion. They told me it would be ready in five minutes so I walked down there. Even though it was more than a five minute walk, I still had to wait, then I noticed that they had another Tim kha soup that had tomatoes in it etc, and tried to verify what I was about to pay for. The woman in the booth, AS SHE CHARGED MY DEBIT CARD, confirmed that she was selling me the soup with onions and tomatoes and CABBAGE that I did not want. I told her I did not want those things in my soup, she said sorry and told me how to order it next time a few times, I told her I probably won't be back next time as she was taking my money for something I do not want, will not eat. She then got my soup out of the bag and said oh there's no tomatoes in it, I asked if there were still white onions, she said yes, and told me how to order correctly again. I'm back at work now with no lunch, because there are so many things in this soup I didn't want as opposed to the soup I thought I ordered, which was tom kha noodle soup with no noodles! I also ordered a Thai iced tea, with extra cream as to be less sweet and guess what? Just a regular super sugary one, wish I had just gone to any other food cart or restaurant that actually has customer service. Also when she packed my soup in the bag, it leaked EVERYWHERE, don't know if that was deliberate passive aggression, or just carelessness
Wide selection, everything is yummy, excellent prices, fast service, they seem to really enjoy their work
Excellent
