Cozy interior with modern details & a menu of classic Thai dishes with pick-up & delivery options.
I've known about this place for a long time, but for some reason I've never been. We wanted to try a new to us Thai restaurant and I'm so happy that we did. The food was fantastic! Service was great, and it has a nice atmosphere. We can't wait to go back.
We loved our visit here. Staff is very friendly. They have an excellent choice of food to pick from. We found the food to be amazing too. We had the rainbow rolls, which was great along with the peanut sauce that comes with it. The pumpkin curry was one of the best we've had. Their Khao Soi is really delicious too. Nice ambience. Overall a great experience. We'll definitely be coming back again.
Noticed the quality of food and service has gone down considerably since we started coming here about 7 years ago. Our Thai iced tea tasted like it was made with spoiled milk, and when we told the waitress she seemed offended. Our go-to entree is the sweet and sour with chicken, which we ordered. The chicken tasted like it had gone bad. We had one bite and couldn't finish the bite. The waitress didn't bother to check on us the whole time, or ask if something was wrong because we didn't even touch the rest of it. The coconut shrimp were so small, it was all breading and couldn't even taste the shrimp or coconut flakes. Unfortunately we won't be coming back again, left a really bad taste in our mouth, literally.

Nothing fancy about this restaurant, but the food is classic Thai, and very good. Has more of a diner feel rather than a restaurant. I ordered everything “Thai Spicy” and they did not disappoint. If I was to pick one outstanding dish, it would be the Papaya Salad.
I’ll definitely go back and try more of their excellent food.
I've been a loyal customer here for years, but I've noticed a decline in quality over my last couple of visits. This time, I ordered the Fresh Rolls—a must-have for me whenever I eat Thai food—but they were disappointing. They used to be filled with noodles, but now it’s all cabbage, and the filling is uneven, with most of it in the middle. The Pad Thai was dry and chewy which was a bummer! understand every place can have an off day, but this change seems to be the new standard. I even had to drive back to get a refund, which is frustrating. I really hope they bring back the quality they were known for.
Came here on a rainy Friday night for dinner… alone. Just me. A lot of the times these places are quick to serve but nooo. They weren’t really busy for Friday night either.
Ordered Pad Thai only and it took about 25 mins for the food to come out. Just very basic without a ton of spices, tamarind, or anything fancy! I know pad Thai is rather basic but some places do blow it out of the water. Pass.
This has been our go-to thai place for about 4 years. They have never messed up our order, our take-out is always ready on time, and every dish we have tried has been excellent.
Food is consistently good everytime we come. Drinks are great and they have a build your own ramen area, so cute.

Portion sizes are incredibly small, not ordering here again
Ordered takeout for nine people. Every single dish was delicious. My favorite mango shrimp.

Great food and service! Especially loved the Thai Tea ice cream.
Eat here all the time. Consistently good.
Legit good noodles with good texture and flavors. Proteins also cooked perfectly. Ice cream great flavors, tho texture a little icy
Their yellow curry and fresh rolls were delicious and I’m excited to try it what else they have next time!
Large menu with many drink and dessert options for a Thai restaurant. Spicy levels can be adjusted.
Great Thai place. Tasted a unique ice cream today - Thai Ice Tea flavor, too good! Overall a great experience.
has been a favorite of mine since i moved here in 2019. great food, reasonably priced, good selection. service is excellent always and restaurant is always clean.
Very delicious food! Their fried rice with crab was amazing!
Ordered Pad Kee Mao and the noodles were soggy and broken into pieces. Not good. At all no flavor and the noodles tasted like they been sitting for awhile. I have had thie food alot in my days I would say this place is a hard pass. Also for the price they charge it should be more delious and full of flavors. Very disappointed
Asked for the bathroom, and the guy behind the counter didn't entertain me. The treatment changed when they found out I had order to go.
Our go-to for delicious Thai food and friendly service
What has changed with this little place? From one of the best Thai food to Chinese cuisine. Heavy sauce, everything sweet and just pre made. Guess the ownership changed. Expensive for this mediocre product.
The Pad Prik Khing was really tasty with the perfect amount of spice.
One of our reliable go to's. The closest thing we could find to authentic Thai after our trip there years ago.
Ordered Pad Kee Mao and the noodles were soggy and broken into pieces. Not good. Pad Pak Ruam and Cashew Nut good enough. We usually do Siam Thai and unfortunately we didn't find our 2nd favorite Thai take out here. The atmosphere is great except the strange small room in the front that's had glasses, fishing supplies and now ice cream for sale.
My new favorite Thai food place
We had an amazing lunch for a large group. Thank you for accommodating all our requests for vegetarian options!
Long list of items for vegetarians.
Green curry fried rice was innovative and delicious
Very delicious food and great service! We had the spicy crab rangoons, orange chicken, and chicken pad thai. Everything was fantastic, highly recommend their orange chicken it was nice and crispy.

GTB is a frequent for my family. The food tastes very good and the service is great. They have vegan soft serve coconut ice cream that is delicious.
Once my go-to Thai spot, it's lost a bit of its spark. The inside is clearly geared for takeout, and there's a weird lime situation. Dishes promising lime don't deliver, and asking for it is met with a 'too expensive' excuse. The Khao Soi, which rocks with lime, now arrives sans lime. The last couple of visits, I've resorted to bringing my own lime and sombal sauce since they stopped serving it. While the food's still good, it's not the standout place it used to be—just feels a bit mid now
Awesome food, friendly service. The Khao Soi is delicious
Love coming here with my family!
The food was okay, but they were shortstaffed, and it was difficult to get my waitress's attention
Just ok. Got the pad Thai
Delicious Thai food. They have vegan options! Fare prices. Friendly staff.

Got charged different check. Was told transaction will be reversed to correct amount. Yet not resolved. Beware and double check
The best Pad Thai I can find… I always love it here! They also have the best Thai Iced tea.
Unfriendly service and ice cream servings look nothing like the menu
I ordered a food to go and they asked me not to sit on site.
Great Thai food restaurants. Small but has a nice touch to it!
Fast, good, and huge portions. First time here, but it definitely won't be my last!
Great food. Every time.
The best Thai restaurant period. All the food we got and the Thai beer was perfect. Everything is perfectly seasoned and got complex of flavors. The meatball skewers had a great texture and flavor and made me chug the beer haha Curry was condensed with the flavors and couldn’t stop thinking about their pod thai.
What makes you hesitate? This is the best I ever had. Please check this place out and share the love with your friends and family.
+ they sell sauces and finger lickin delicious. We had it with costco frozen fried chicken and was so good! Tangy + sweets + umami ✨💖
One of my favorite takeout places food is always fresh and delicious. Completely worth the money.
Great Food and service we did take out.
I went with my 3 kiddos and husband after a movie and we wanted something light and fresh. I'm on a cleanse and can't eat many things, but there menu had so many fresh alternatives. Our #1 fave was the appetizer mango shrimp roll. It was delicious! The soup was very tasty and everything we ordered was just right. The kitchen is open and there was one man cooking and food came out fairly quick too.
Always a great meal

This is my go to place for weeknight take out or lunch with friends. The food is always excellent and the atmosphere is casual and relaxing.
Pretty good, just the right amount of spice (heat). I had lunch. Nice people.
Our favorite Thai place around. Food and service is awesome
This little restaurant is located in a strip mall, right off the highway. Not the fanciest place in town BUT the food is delicious and the service is great.! AND it’s very affordable - the average price for a glass of wine is $6.25. It cost us around $60 for 3 glasses of wine, an appie, 2 full meals, and 1 dessert. VERY reasonable!
Exceptionally fine neighborhood Thai place with a Franco-Burmese twist! Head chef is SE Asian via Paris trained--hence "Brasserie." Superb and uncommon dishes for a small venue--Burmese pumpkin curry with a choice of meats, seafood, or tofu anyone? (Delicious!) Ample portions, cool appetizers all made in-house, and Thai beers to choose from! What's not to love?! Great house-made, citrus-based sauces--piquant and pleasing. Great salades with Larbs a stand-out. Very swift, competent, and welcoming wait staff. Go Already!
Very tasty, well spiced food
Yummy food and great service
Good thai food. Chicken in some signature dishes is more katsu style mixed in with the dishes. Tom Yum soup was nice and brothy.
Overall it was good, solid 4. Thai tea soft serve was really good 5/5
Amazing things:
Tom Yum (soup)
Pad Prik Khing (green beans)
Pad Ka Prau Jan Ron (ground chicken w/ shrimp)
Khao Soi (noodles)
They say they are open until 9pm on Sundays. I called at 6:50 pm to order and the lady said sorry we close at 7pm on Sundays. I told her she should update Google, and she said yes, I know??? You know your hours are wrong and left them wrong?!?!
Guess they have enough business.
Disappointing meal. I ordered fried rice with crab meat, the fried rice was sticky together, and it had a strange sour smell, I hope it won't be diarrhea. Ordered crispy chicken, too salty. Ordered green curry and it was too sweet. Will not go again.
Best Thai food. Ordered Orang chicken, mango shrimp, crab fried rice. They are all excellent. 2 thumbs ups
Went there three times, to order takeout or pick up order, the food is good, attitude? Not so much unfortunately, All 3 times I came, I got this energy that I am bothering them in a very important task.. no more..
It's in a strip mall. The sign includes something strange about sunglasses. Parts of the restaurant are cluttered and parts are super well-designed. But the food is so awesome. I had Khao Soi with Salmon. Delicious! Great choice if you're on your way back to North Portland from the southwest suburbs via Skyline and Germantown.
Great Thai food. I don't know what brasserie means, but I guess it means great food!
Food is gd
Sad to share this was the worst Thai food we’ve ever had. Dishes were either flavorless or overpowered by fish sauce/salt
I ordered the khao soi to go. The food was ready fast, and the noodles were great... good flavor, with pickled veg and onion. One of my favorites.
We go to Gin Thai very frequently. But it irks me so much that they don’t answer their phone. I have called three or four times tonight. And no answer.
The Pad Thai is amazing! They have GF options. We wouldn’t recommend the fried rice, nothing wrong with it - we just didn’t like the flavor that much. The spring rolls are good too!
Food was good, service friendly. Menu was extensive.
The same Thai food tastes better here and plus they have much more variety as well as flavors than other Thai restaurants. They also have really good desserts. I would highly recommend them!
Insanely spicy but not flavorful pad see ew ordered medium (2 out of 4 spiciness). Was hotter than the “extra hot” green curry we ordered. Good flavor on that to compliment the heat. Ordered brown rice for curry was given regular rice. Getting in and out of the parking lot is brutal.
Absolutely fantastic dishes!
We have ordered from gin Thai for years and have been happy with the experience. Tonight however we ended up with half our order that was so spicy it was inedible. We ordered medium level which is our go to with this restaurant and has always been fine before. We also did not get the rice we ordered. Dinner mostly ended up in garbage unfortunately.
Freshly prepared excellent Thai. Laid back quality food.
Service was nice, helpful, and friendly. As of 7/25/21 they have very limited seating, no big deal.
Ordered Pad Kee Mow (drunken noodles), and really the only good thing I have to say about it is that it was fast, maybe 5 minutes. The noodles were basically cooked into mush, the tomatoes were almost green (who puts tomatoes in drunken noodles?), And they just used the same sauce as the pad Thai, which makes this dish NOT pad Kee mow. Maybe they do other things well, but I'm not going to trust them again after this experience.
The green curry has great
The chicken Pad Thai was way too salty and the chicken was too tough and chewy...I always try the Pad Thai first. It's a good measure/test to determine the rest of the menu...a lot of the reviews I read also mentioned the food is salty. I won't be eating here anymore!
Pad Thai was goood, wasn’t a fan of the egg rolls, but they were very friendly
Gin Thai will never disappoint! Cashew Nut Tofu is my favourite & Pineapple Fried rice for my wife. We love their Rainbow Rolls too. I'll definitely recommend Gin Thai.
We just got out of the airport on vacation and stopped here for lunch. It’s currently only take out or eat outside right now. We got the dumplings, red curry with chicken, fried rice with crispy chicken special, and the spicy eggplant with chicken. Everything was very good! Nothing was greasy - everything tasted fresh.
Love love love this place if you go in if you order they never read the notes and every time I'm missing a least one thing. I tried 3 times every time it was disappointing
Really good! I always end up eating way more than I should! Just... one... more... bite...
I came here to pick up food... and noticed one of the chef’s mask was on his chin with both nose and mouth uncovered. If you can’t follow covid precautions, I don’t think you should be open during COVID. Will not come back.
Ordered crab fried rice costs 16$ and lots of white sticky rice and topped with very little crab and lots of egg. They used to have very good crab fried rice but quantity went down significantly. Sticky rice is not cooked to fry either.
They have a very nice pad Thai, but try the Green Curry Crispy Chicken. The spice and flavor will rock your world! I’m so glad I ordered rice as it means I’ll be able to stretch this magic out for one more meal.
Love it. Neighborhood gem
This is an amazing place. Great customer service and fast service and still great quality food. Thanks a bunch guys/gals!!
This is one of my favorite Thai places in the Portland Metro area. Excellent food and great variety. I look forward to dining again in their premises after coronavirus someday. It is a relaxing environment.
Hang in there a little while longer... I've already picked your restaurant as the location of my post-isolation celebration. Once my friends and I are vaccinated, we will be there as soon as you are open for inside dining.
5 stars for 1) your chicken param, 2) your on-point mask usage, and 3) your contactless pick up service.
Love their low carb pad thai.
Always impressed with their food! Working our way through the menu, delicious so far!
Locally one of the best thai places in the area. Their wings + basil w/ beef is sooo yummy
We ordered fried rice, Pad Thai, and Thai style ramen with samosas and spring rolls; it was all very good! We’ll definitely order again.
Very authentic thai food - no frills sit down place, you giya sit outside in Corona times though, they have two small tables there.
The food was great and fast
Ordered for pickup & paid online. Pickup was quick and easy! Employees were wearing masks. The Massaman curry was delicious. The medium spice level was perfect for a curry for me (hot enough to make my nose run a bit, mild enough that I can taste the nuanced flavors). Came with enough food for 2 or 3 meals, at a very reasonable price!! Would recommend.
*note: unfortunately can only tip up to 20% with online purchase. Looks like if you want to tip more you have to pay in the store. Either method of paying is an option when you order from the website.
My dish was horrible I was so displeased when we got home to eat it. Way over salted and very bland such a huge disappointment because we have been wanting to eat here for such a long time. I would not go back for a another meal.
Excellent Thai food, will accommodate food allergies. Owned by an amazing local couple. I eat there regularly and have never had a bad meal.
Hands down best Thai around... Give them a shot, you won't regret it if you 💘 Thai food!!
The khao-soi is really good.
Even during Covid days, the takeout tastes as good as dine-in.
I work and live closely. This is my go to place for thai food. They're always on time and have good customer service.
In the times I have eaten here I have ordered the Khao Soi and Pad Thai, both dishes were delicious. I have also had the privilege of eating a handful of wonderful side dishes, my current favorite being the Chicken Wings. All dishes are packed with savory flavors that make the food hard to put down.
Also the ordering online process was incredibly smooth. I was able to order exactly what I was craving, and even customize my Pad Thai dish with extra meat and veggies. Although I miss being able to dine out right now, I was able to order a better dish online, with being able to see everything that can be added to any dish. Currently they are also including free Thai Ice Tea on online orders over $30, which was a great treat.
When I went to pick-up my food, all employees were wearing masks and the Kitchen had been sealed off with glass to limit and stop any exposure. I felt very safe eating my meal and plan on continuing to support this cozy brasserie now and when dining out can resume.
I was really looking forward to this place because their ratings were good and they were located in the area. Now during this covid , I don't want to take a lot of chances with take out and going out to grab food for obvious reasons. But I was really craving Thai food and finally decided to order food instead of cook.
I originally called and asked if I could do a curb side pick up because I didn't want to go into the restaurant because covid. I was told I could do curb side and I was happy about that. However when I called again to place my order someone else told me that they couldn't do curb side because they can't take payment over the phone and I'll have to come in.
So I headed on over and went inside there was a few people in there and the X's on the floor were no where near six feet apart. In addition, the guy who was handling the register was the same guy who was topping the peanuts on all the dishes! GROSS. He was not washing his hands in between the customers and would go back to top off the dishes, with his hands!! And that's not the worse as I was waiting for my food there was this lady who was in there picking up a meal and she was coughing and he still didn't go wash his hands after that, I was shocked. Luckily my food was already in the bag because if it wasn't I would've said that I would've wanted my money back he didn't wash his hands even after the coughing customer.
I tried to call them twice on my way home with no response. I again tried to call them again after dinner which by the way wasn't that great.
I ordered a chicken yellow curry and it was really watery and it only had two potatoes and two carrots. I also ordered a side of sticky rice which was $4 and a small portion. I believe it's the sticky rice they use for their mango sticky rice dessert because it was flat and I know my sticky rices.
I also ordered the chicken pad thai which was really bland and didn't have that much in it. My Thai craving was not met and the price I paid including tip was definitely not worth it.
However I did appreciate that their employees are wearing masks. But does that matter if the guy who is handling the register and not washing his hands is the one topping of the dishes. Even if this covid wasn't happening I'd still be grossed out that he was handling cash and then garnishing my food. I won't be coming back to them which is a shame because they are located really close.
It's rare to find a Thai restaurant which is traditional, yet completely unique. Just a small establishment with sort of a "cafe" atmosphere - but that's ok. I come here for the amazing food!
This little gem serves up everything fresh and made to order. Perfectly prepared, this is a little-known shining star of Thai food and SE Asian fusion. Everything is perfect, from the nicely seasoned and herbed batter that they use for their chicken, to the freshness of the salads and the ingredients used. The dishes I keep going back to are the Pla Tod Rad Prik, and I love the Crispy Chicken Basil. They also have a wonderful Larb salad and the Burmese pumpkin curry is also amazing. The portions are large and the quality overall is excellent, and very consistent. They also make everything fresh, to order. And they are also fast! I truly love this place. If I would to recommend one single restaurant in this area - THIS would be it!
My new favorite Thai food joint in the Portland area. Convenient for folk on the west side, and not outrageously priced like more Central Portland Thai. (Not the restaurants fault I know, down town leases are no joke). Cah soy noodle with chicken, yumm! Sorry, rear facing camera lens on my phone is shattered, no pictures. I need to eat here some more for a solid review, but I could hardly wait to report.
My wife and I have a weakness for Thai food, so we've had a decent selection over the 15 years we've known each other. Gin Thai definitely ranks in the upper echelon of those experiences with regard to the quality, speed, taste, and price point. Great food to grab as take-out on those lazy weekdays, and there's typically enough for leftovers, too.
I'm genuinely surprised at the mediocre review right before this post... I've ordered from Gin Thai twice in the last couple of weeks and both times the food has been amazing! We ordered a papaya salad, pork green curry, seafood pineapple curry, chicken pad Thai, and sweet sausage fried rice... and everything was delicious. The ingredients are fresh, the vegetables in the fried rice and the curries are not overcooked (still have some crunch), and the seafood in the pineapple curry was more than just shrimp and calamari (which is what I find is in most 'seafood' dishes). I also love that they include fresh cilantro, purple cabbage, lime and other herbs in each dish.
I must note though, their spice levels are deceiving. The first time we ordered most dishes with 'medium' spice (way too spicy), but second time we ordered 'mild' and everything was perfect. Look forward to trying more dishes.
Excellent Thai food, nice ambiance. Lovely little spot!
My husband accidentally ate one of the hot peppers in his dish and our waitress was so helpful in finding something to counteract it. Chocolate was what did it!
I understand anyone can run into a place having a bad day, but of the 4 times I've been to this place the customer service has been good and the food tasty.
It's not the most amazing Thai food but for those that eat a lot it's something a little different and they put extra effort into presentation.
Big servings of rice too.
I don't know. Maybe Thai people eat feather skin.but not me. When I called a staff. She said "sorry but it's not wrong."
I've eaten here several times and always enjoyed it. Everything is full of flavor and it's worth trying new things on the menu!
They need to improve on their customer service. I made an order for 12 people for pickup, which was a total of $160. When I went to pick up the food, I asked for 12 paper plates, but the manager refused. She said she can only give 5 plates max. When I mentioned that there are 12 people, she asked for $2 and then gave me 10 plates. I gave the money and took 10 plates as I really needed them. And, I have to mention that the plates were of extremely bad quality.
The food is amazing. I drempt about their food last night and woke up craving it. I ate there like 2 weeks ago. This place has me coming back for more.
Food can be a little salty sometimes but I always enjoy the food.
The best Thai food I had in the US to date. The curries are very fresh and tasty
I’m confused by the reviews. This is my first time here and I have to say that it’s gross. I’m sad. I don’t even want to keep eating it and that never happens. The food is over cooked, as well as undercooked. Undercooked eggplant, over cooked meat. The chicken taste off. The beef taste like nothing. The hot tea is good.
Delicious
Horrible staff, horrible owners and horrible experience! Got the runs! On top of it all! Our family eats a lot of Thai food so when we found a new restaurant close to our house we were excited. Well, until we actually experienced how horrible this place is! It is one of the most awful hell forsaken place I’ve ever been to in my life. And, I eat out a lot! The waitress answer question without even checking in the first place. Then the staff looks at you like you’re a bother and make faces at you! Are rude and then the food is made horrible after you ask questions.Dont go there unless you want to have a bad time and have diarrhea!
The BEST green curry you will ever eat. This place is such a good find. Delicious food, reasonable prices, and really great service. I'm honestly addicted and don't live far away, so it takes a bit of effort to hold myself back from eating here all the time.
Good food for vegetarians!
