We decided to have Thai food at this restaurant today. I ordered 2 orders of Salad Rolls, Papaya salad with Crispy Chicken, Red Curry Seafood Combination, Pad Kee Mao, Pad Thai, Garlic and Broccoli Pork and Sticky Rice.
All these dishes were awesome, they had so much flavor and tasted delicious. Each dish had its own unique tasting delicious flavor. Not where some places all the dishes look different, but tasted all the same. And I know that a lot of us have been to places like that before. The dishes they brought out were pretty big in size. I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant. This restaurant seems pretty popular, because when we were there, it was pretty packed with people. Only one server/waiter, so please be patient and try out the awesome tasting food.

We got takeout here for the first time tonight. We all had various red curries and thought they were way too salty. The tomatoes were mushy. Very large portions, I only ate about a third of mine. Even my husband only finished half.

This little thai place just keeps getting better and better. Great food, and decent amounts of it too! Lots of things that are hard to find elsewhere. Owners are there running the show, prepping and cooking. So you know it's consistently good.

The pad kee mao was the best I've had in the area, possibk6 best I've ever had and I've been to provably 100 Thai restaurants in my day all over the country. Huge portions and very friendly staff.

Went to dinner last night with a friend. They were busy (Saturday night) but we still got our delicious food quickly. The avocado salad rolls are HUGE and the crab fried rice is a HUGE portion, and so yummy!

So it’s a little bit service yourself water and tea, but strangely I like it that way. The Pad Thai is cooked fresh and has plenty of chopped peanuts. Tastes great.

Edit: My original review was short and sweet, and this restaurant deserves better. I believe this is a family owned restaurant? Regardless, the team that runs this place certainly treat their guests like they are part of the family. They are so sweet! But I haven't even started about the food! Every dish that I have had here has been fresh and top quality. The portion sizes are incredibly generous and worth the price. The orange chicken is one of my favorite dishes. Nothing beats the tender breading and succulent taste of these nuggets. Another favorite of mine is the sizzling combo. Which is similar to stew. But the literally mouth-watering taste of this dish is far superior to any stew I've ever had!

Stopped by to try this in a friend's neighborhood. We split a Panang Curry with tofu. The portion size was perfect for our appetite and the curry was delicious. We loved the local sambal (sp) sauce. Will visit to try the rolls and noodles!

This place is a gem! The Panang Curry (with chicken) was full of delicious tender chicken & vegetables (asparagus and green beans). I ordered from the lunch menu because I was not prepared to pay $25 for lunch but my friend assured me that when you do order the regular (non lunch menu) items, the servings are quite generous.. enough that she takes leftovers home and eats them over several meals.

This is one of my favorite Thai spots in the Portland area, if not my favorite! Definitely my favorite in Milwaukie / Oregon City. Good portions, quick service, and lovely people! The food is delicious! I love their curries and pad thai. Also, their basil fried rice is my favorite in the whole Portland area, out of the few places i've been to. I love Anu who is working the front counter on most days. Forgive me if i am misspelling their name! I've been eating here for a couple years, so Anu and I always catch up with each other and chat about life for a little bit when we see each other. Most people at most restaurants are just trying to get me out the door (which i totally understand!), but it's nice to have wholesome conversations and human interaction that goes beyond a transaction. It gives me a sense of community that I think is lacking in today's culture. It's nice to know that there are still people out there keepin' it real, while still able to provide quick and tasty service! Sending my love to the whole family! <3

Some of the nicest people you're going to meet work here. The food is incredible! Always fresh, the freshest. Portions are very large. I've never been able to finish a whole plate and I eat a lot. I highly recommend the avocado beef, and the beef salad. The avocado salad rolls are just gorgeous! This is by far my favorite local restaurant. Nancy will meet you once and always remember your name. I wish them all the success in the world for absolutely nailing it every single time.

This is quickly becoming my favorite Thai place in this part of town. I've dined-in a few times and tried the Orange Chicken Pad Thai, Crying Tiger Pad Thai, and Panang Curry. Everything has been delicious! Be sure to look at the specials listed on the wall in addition to what's on the menu because they have some great ones. The portions are generous and I always have leftovers. The service is great and very welcoming!

I used to love this place. Costs went way up. Service went way down, it's serve yourself but still tip me for bringing a plate to your table and then not seeing me again. The portion sizes have been cut in half. It's not a good deal anymore and I never know what I'm going to be paying or receiving as they try to make more money.

Can't say enough great things about this place. Food is ALWAYS on top of the game. Staff are kind. Anyone I talk to in the area loves the food and the people. Definitely a hidden gem! Lunch specials are on point!

Thre weeks earlier: Despite the positive reviews here, our experience for dinner was NOT good. I waited 60+ minutes for my to-go order. When I got home, I found the pad thai mushy - the noodles and shrimp were overcooked and tasteless, with barely a hint of peanuts. The chicken satay was rubbery and not edible. I spent $70 for a dinner that will mostly go to our dogs. I don't like to leave bad reviews, but I also want to get quality for what I pay for. The best part of the experience was the very nice gentleman running the counter - what a bright smile. Sadly, I cannot recommend this place.

I loved this place an have for years! Never changed their sizes understood the prices changes but, unfortunately I don't think I'll be coming here anymore. Got yakasoba noodles extra beef for $18. Which usually totally fine with because of the size an iv been going for years but when they brought out HALF the serving you normally get for the same price. I was disappointed to say the least an had no heads up they changed there portions either. I will not be paying $18 for a scoop & 1/2 of noodles.

Such a great place for Thai food. I have been here a few times, and its a great experience every time. My favorite dish by far is the mango salmon curry. Soooo good!!
Reasonable prices, great service, and great food. I have mostly gone during non-rush-hour times, but at those times the food came out very very fast.
They serve you plenty of food, almost every time I have gone with the family we get to-go boxes and basically have another meal for the next day.
Our office has also used them for catering, and they have done an exceptional job.

My husband loves their massaman curry. He is willing to drive 30 mins to this restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and tastefully decorated with clean restroom and built in bidet...lol.
But we noticed a lots of repeat customers and just the friendly atmosphere between staff and customers. They knew their customer's names and faces.

The food was good and good portion. Curry was superb to win my husband over. I am not crazy about the traditional rice(split rice) for my fried rice. Much prefer the Thai jasmine rice. We plan to return again and will try other dishes and update our feedbacks.

Delicious food with larger portions than practicallh all other thai restaurants, and they have kind and helpful staff.

However, they can take a long time to prepare their food when they have several customers. From the looks of it, this restaurant is a family owned restaurant with it's only workers being a few family members. That's probably why it takes a while sometimes to prepare their food, considering that they can very busy sometimes.

Excellent good! We ordered the papaya salad, the green curry and spicy cashew dish and everything was absolutely delicious! The owners and waiter were very friendly and service was great! We highly recommend!

Panang curry was great - delicious, nice flavor. Portions of every dish were very big. The salad rolls were huge - peanut sauce was more sweet and not as creamy, but I didn’t taste any herbs inside the salad rolls

Also tried the pad thai and pad see ew; pad thai didn’t have a lot of flavor; the tamarind flavor wasn’t really there.

Pad see ew flavor was not as sweet as other spots; the wide rice noodles were over cooked/falling apart and not caramelized; but the flavor was still good.

Generous portions and great food! My wife and I were stuffed with leftovers and only spent $36 with tip. Also saw the owner come out of the back to greet his guests and hep an elderly patron to his car. We’ll definitely be back to support the great food and nice folks here.

This is one of the to places that my extended family and I love to go to for lunch or dinner! The Thai Coffee is addicting, and pairing with an order of their shrimp and avocado salad rolls is a perfectly filling, and healthy lunch that keeps my wife and I filled and energized throughout the day until dinner. Hands down, one of the best places I can recommend to anyone who loves Thai food. Paul is the owner, and he has recognized me and watched me grow for the last 7 years; every time we go in, he comes to check in and see how we have been doing since our last visit! Perfect atmosphere, bigger-than-normal portions, and a taste that brings us back almost every week.

Despite not yet visiting Thailand, I’ve eaten the cuisine for 25 years in NYC and in Taiwan- which has excellent Thai chain restaurants, in southern Yunnan province and Laos. Today’s first time visit to Buathong stood out as the most soulful and real home cooking flavor I’ve had. Beware that the size of the dishes is large. I suggest eating in as opposed to take-out. It’s that good.

I have to recommend this place. First time ordering and was pretty happy. The food was tasty and portions were well worth it. Highlight was the service. We ordered in the last hour they were open and were still more than nice about it. Will go back

Loved this place!!! Great portion sizes, and the food was delicious. My only minor complaint was I asked for extra spicy and it was quite mild (yes, I like to feel the burn lol). I would definitely return here often if I lived closer, sadly it's about an hour from my house.

Phenomenally good food. The best Thai restaurant I've been to in the whole of the U.S. - and that includes NYC, LA, SF. Every dish was perfectly prepared and delicious.

We have many Thai restaurants in the area. I tried them all before coming. It's the only place I go now. I love everything we try.

Our favorite Thai place, we always order shrimp salad rolls; best peanut sauce always need a couple, yellow curry, chicken pad thai, and pad pring king. Friendly staff.

This place is soo ridiculously good. And it’s not just the food but the service; even the customers couldn’t stop talking about how great this place was when we visited. The owner Nancy was so sweet and jumped to make our meal memorable. We had the pad see ew chicken and the spicy basil fried rice; now me and my fiancé eat Thai food A-LOT and this is by far the best place around. Paul is the other owner and he cooks all the food and it’s a pleasure to see him interact with the customers. This place is liking coming home for a delicious meal with how welcoming this place is. If you are looking for a place to eat, this is definitely it!!

Great food and good vibe,chunky portions..

The food is amazing(full of flavor!!!!) and the portion sizes used to be great for the price. Now they have reduced the portion sizes but kept it at the same high price. This wont stop me from coming but I will be coming in less often.

One of the few places that my wife and I can have a great meal and a <$20 bill. We share a cury dish and add a side order of rice, and walk away with a full and happy stomach!

This is my 3rd or 4th time getting takeout from here. Enormous portions for the price. Everything’s been delicious so far. Haven’t gotten the man’s name at the register yet but it’s been the same young man every time and he seems like he might be genuinely one of the sweetest people on the planet. What a wholeheartedly warm smile. The food is great, but the guy at the register makes this place wonderful. Highly recommend!

Delicious curries! The Mussamon was the best we've ever had, and we've been to many Thai restaurants. Cute atmosphere and good vegan options. Highly recommended!

What a gem of a place! Super friendly service, huge portions and delicious food. We had the basil fried rice and curry noodles and both were scrumptious!

Portions are MASSIVE! Staff is very friendly. Food is delicious. I will continue to go back!
