Very good. Chicken was good. Milk tea was great. Seating is a bit limited, but it wasn't busy at all when we were there. Cool location with other businesses in the same block worth checking out. We'd come back again.

I usually come here for drinks. But got take out this time. Didn't look at it till I got home. The rice was soggy and felt like baby good/mash potatoes. Just nasty. The chicken wasn't any better. the soup was okay. Never coming here again for food.

Diner Review №5

I loveeee this place. Best place to get food and hang out with your friends. My favorite food from them is the friend chicken and rice. Their drinks are refreshing especially their matcha lava. Their staff are very kind and welcome especially the girl at the cashier. Should definitely visit them if you haven’t already!

Diner Review №6

This place is amazing and food is delicious! please drop by. I swear the owner and the worker are the sweetest. They have so many drink options! Their sweet chili wings are a must. I also got the thai fried chicken rice and it was delicious. I cant wait to stop by again and try more of their food.

Diner Review №7

Absolutely love the food & boba here... Fast & friendly every time...
If u haven't tried it you are missing out!

Diner Review №8

Food was really good, the service and hospitality was great. We will definitely go back.

Diner Review №9

Ordered a combo pad Thai and was disappointed. Bland and the three shrimp were like rubber and still had the tails on, the chicken was dry and did not have flavor. The crab Rangoon are very good though. The place is small and clean but the chairs are tiny and uncomfortable.

Diner Review №10

I usally come in every now and then to get the same order but after today I’m not so sure. I went in and I received the incorrect order and was asked to wait 10 minutes, which wasn’t a big deal. However right after this transaction the cashier spoke in spanish to another customer about how she couldn’t understand me when I was trying to explain the correct order. She proceeded to say I needed to speak better english not knowing I’m fully capable of speaking not just english but spanish and many other languages. I’m just very disappointed that I was facing racism as an asian person in an asian restaurant being told to speak English by another person of color. It very ironic. I’m disappointed because I used to enjoy this restaurant and think the employees were so nice and helpful. I hope you learn from this incident so you can be more aware of what you say around your customers in the future.

LOVE Kao Mun Gai! Such delicious food that is always fresh. A small gem in the Western District of OKC that's truly a MUST TRY!

Diner Review №12

Kao Mun Gai is a hidden gem. Seriously !!

Every option we tried was uniquely different from another.

Manager Maria is very professional and always smiling.

The inside is inviting and food OMG one of the best Thai restaurants.

Great selection of bubble teas, unique sodas.

It is definitely a must visit and we will definitely be back.

The store is locally owned and operated by the Oklahoma family.

Buy Local, Support Local.

Check out their food pictures.

Highly recommended

Diner Review №13

Must try their mango sticky rice and crab rangoons! Soo good!

Diner Review №14

Super yummy food/boba, and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Diner Review №15

Had an awesome meal here, we ordered the Kung Pao Chicken, the Bang Chicken, and of course the Mango Sticky Rice. Their bubble tea was on the money. One Thai lemon tea, and one strawberry lemonade with popping strawberry Boba. Amazing service and really good food.

Diner Review №16

This Thai fusion restaurant is amazing. You will want to eat the crab Rangoon for sure but honestly everything I’ve had from there is fantastic. Check them out please.

Diner Review №18

We grabbed combo pad thai, chicken curry panang, and an order of spring rolls. Each dish was a bland and had noteworthy issues. Disappointing showing from a restaurant that only makes a handful of things.

The curry had a relatively weak base of flavor. It was alright after adding salt, though it was a smaller portion than I was expecting.

The pad thai offered more flavor-wise, though still wasn't as dynamic as you'd expect from a Thai/fusion place. I ordered a combo, though it only came with two shrimp in the box. The chicken breast was overcooked, resultingly dried out and tough.

The spring rolls were unbelievably crisp, even after fifteen minutes in the to-go box. Perhaps that time to steam could explain why the filling was mushy (I suspect the cabbage mix had been overcooked prior to filling though).

Diner Review №19

Kao Mun Gai in Uptown OK is serving up some authentic Thai food that is flavorful and delicious. This place is so cute and they have a lil something for everyone (including vegetarians!) which is what I love. My favorite dishes were the Gochujang (sweet & spicy chicken) and the Pad Thai. They have a ton of different bubble teas to choose from, but BABY, their Dang Soda is literal heaven. It’s indescribable but if I had to explain it, it’s fizzy, sweet, sour, and juicy. It comes with chopped up mangos and coconut on the bottom which serves as a yummy textural component. I highly recommend this place for takeout and/or delivery! Shoutout to Angel for being amazing and serving up some yummy drinks!

Update: I just wanted to come back and say that all the new updates and menu additions are so great! We have been trying new flavors and dishes! Also, the staff continue to be so kind and helpful!

This place is a hidden gem! Ok, maybe not hidden, but I just discovered it. We went in for boba and got the Thai Tea as well as the Butterfly milk. I’m usually all about my Thai tea, and I was, but that butterfly milk is what I am going back for. Truly addictive! I also got the shrimp pad Thai and the eggrolls. The pad Thai did not disappoint! Super fresh and had the right spice and crunch. The shrimp were really nice and large with tails on (the only way), and I pretty much devoured it as soon as I got home. My daughter ate the pork eggrolls and said they were really good! Love the sauces! Would love to see some veggie ones! (Pleeeeease!)

Amazing!!! My favorite food from Thailand right here in beautiful Paseo Arts District in Oklahoma City! Beautiful place, like out of a dream. The best dream.

Diner Review №26

Their smoothies are BOMB. I get them often - pretty addicting. 🙈 12/10!

Diner Review №27

A MUST TRY! This small place packs a great punch. We had the combination Pad Thai, Combination fried Rice, Orange Chicken, gyoza, Thai Tea, Lychee Tea, and Butterfly Soda.

Gyoza was great. Crispy, perfectly cooked in and out. Seasoned well, my son LOVED them.

The Pad Thai was one of the best I've ever had. The noodles were cooked perfectly along with a well-balanced sauce, sweet, sour, and a little spicy! So good!

Combination Fried Frice, my son had this one. He loved it, so much so that he almost finished it all before I got to try a bite. But, I got a bite so I could do a proper review. For fried rice fans, this one is 4.8/5, almost perfect.

Orange Chicken was crispy and packed full of flavor but not too sweet, which is exactly how we like it. Perfectly cooked!

All the drinks were perfectly made. Service was prompt, friendly, and super helpful. Only set back was the space to eat. There isn't much room, but it's perfect for Togo or for just a couple of people.

Diner Review №28

The food is so fresh and the customer service is phenomenal.

Diner Review №29

Diner Review №30

This place is great! Their style of Thai cooking is fresh, not over-seasoned, and their mango milk tea with boba was DELICIOUS, even better than ShareTea's. The owners are so nice too. I can't wait to try more of their options!

Diner Review №31

Food was delicious and the service was prompt and super friendly. Loved the combo Thai chicken fried rice.

Diner Review №32

This little place is a hidden gem, flavor was on point from what we got, menu pretty concise so you know the flavors are going to be consistent, friendly staff..give it a world highly recommend!!

Diner Review №33

Excellent Thai food. Decent Boba.

Diner Review №34

The large chicken rice was great. HUGE portion. Fried and steamed chicken are both great, as is the rice, and all three sauces.

Diner Review №35

Friendly staff in a cozy location. I love the pink soda drink, very refreshing. I’ve had the fried chicken plate and spring rolls and both are made fresh and have a lot of flavor. I love the sauces, soup, and cucumber slices that come with the chicken and rice, all provide a nice balance of flavors and textures. I usually have two meals from the regular size.

Diner Review №36

One absolutely delicious meal! My first time trying Kao Mun Gai,

Super fast and Friendly service and nice vibe!

Diner Review №37

I cant speak for the teas, but the only entree they offer is amazing. Not to mention, the lady that served me was super polite and her smile felt genuine, so the service was great.

Diner Review №38

Kao Mun Gai is a cozy Thai eatery and boba shop just north of 36th & Western.

They do 3 things, and they do them all very well.

They do bubble/boba tea (highly recommend the Thai iced tea and the anchan soda).

They make a delicious pad Thai with your choice of proteins. I could eat pad Thai every day and probably never get tired of it.

And lastly, they make Kao Mun Gai, which in addition to being the name of the place, is also the name of their tasty Thai chicken rice dish - served with 3 sweet or savory sauces to choose from.

You won’t leave hungry, so go say hi!

Diner Review №39

Was running errands near this place, had no idea what it was but as I left the store I was in, I smelled the aroma of their delicious food which was two stores over & figured I had to try it.

Got the fried chicken & steamed rice with green tea lemonade & everything was delicious. The fried chicken cooked almost perfectly, the steamed rice has good flavor as it’s cooked in chicken broth, & the green tea lemonade hit the spot & was light & refreshing.
But the highlight of my meal would have to be the orange colored sauce which I think is their version of a sweet & sour with a little spice to it. I loved how it had the added spice, chili pepper flavors in the sweet & sour sauce, it pairs beautifully with the fired chicken & rice.

Food came out pretty fast & very fresh.

Would highly recommend & I will be back. 9 or 9.5 out of 10. Only thing that could be improved would be the drink prices & possibly the soup but still not complaining as the food is reasonably priced.

Diner Review №41

I love when a menu has just a few items sometimes. The chicken was fire and I don’t even like pad Thai but tried theirs and it is GOOD! Careful on the spice to put on the side tho. I love that they have unique flavored boba teas. Not the best but Different from the other boba shops. The cashier was friendly.

Diner Review №42

This place is so welcoming and the food is amazing!!! The veggie spring rolls and the smoothies are so good.

Diner Review №43

Talk about a hidden gem... This one has been up for 2 years and I never even knew about it. The word for this place is FRESH! The bubble tea is fresh, the boba in the bubble tea is rest and the pool is definitely fresh. Everything is made to order. The only negative I see is the lack of feeding they're going to have when I blow this place up. Go see ViVi for the best, bubble tea I've ever had and some of the best Asian food you can get a pound for pound in the city.

Diner Review №44

Finally got the chance to get in here while they were open! Definitely not disappointed. Fried chicken was excellent, and got the matcha lava drink and also very very good!

Diner Review №45

Made a stop for lunch today and felt like something new to me. I got the special with the Thai Chicken and rice and a drink. They gave me a large serving of crispy fried chicken and delicious rice with different sauces. The drink was a Twist which is basically a Tea and Coffee drink with milk. I loved it! This is a great spot for take out through DoorDash. There are only two people running it so be patient. It is worth the short wait. Enjoy!

Diner Review №46

Inside smells like Cigarette smoke. Waiters and workers are actually Thai and very kind. The chicken was good, It came with no skin on like authentic Kao mun Gai, moist and came with 3 different sauces. Also ordered the Pad Thai, it was mixed with cabbage, which is not authentic. It made it taste VERY bland.

Diner Review №47

The thai tea is freshly brewed and made with real cream. I also tried mango sticky rice and it was delicious.

Diner Review №48

Amazing pad Thai and the best Thai tea in OKC. Super nice folks

Diner Review №49

Yuuuuummmmyy. I can’t believe this was my first time trying. I’ll be back for sure. There’s something so good about the simplicity of this steamed chicken and rice. I got a combo because I was worried that I wouldn’t have something crunchy to go with but it was not necessary at all. It was good too but mmmm. And the sauces, again not necessary but very good with the chicken.

Diner Review №50

This place really needs Custom Service Skills. They should have taken some course on Customer Service. Their attitude's are if - They are doing you a favor. No. Actually - The Customer's are doing them a favor. I ordered Combo. Steamed and fried chicken. Both seemed microwaved and dried out. Just small amount of Cheap meat over a huge amount of rice. Cheap Grade of Chicken. I'm all for supporting Small Minority Businesses. But not if it's not worth it.

Diner Review №51

Went in on a whim, how can you go wrong trying some more chicken, rice or boba?

Ordered steamed chicken and crispy chicken, both were enjoyable depending on your mood, the steamed chicken is just that and the crispy chicken has some added flavor/texture from the breading.

Similarly, the steamed and fried rice were savory enough together, less savory was the steamed rice and more savory was the fried rice. Either could be a nice side or a wonderful mix with the chicken and sauces.

The sauces were flavorful if you wanted additional variety or to mix for melded appetites. Three sauces were offered.

Offered sauces:
A ginger sauce, mostly fresh ginger and fresh garlic.
- Think fresh sweet and spicy (don't think hot spicy more like under the nose spicy).
• Very very enticing for those who like this blend.
A Thai chili sauce.
- More sweet, not spicy.
• Definitely for someone looking for the second level of sweet or spicy.
A sauce like Nam Pla Wan, mostly sweet and salty.
- Think brown sugar, shallots and fish sauce combination.
•Slightly savory.

With the meal was an offered a clear broth soup with cilantro notes and a slice or two of potato. Cilantro and cucumber were also offered as a garnish or palette cleanser on the side for any part of the meal.

Although I didn't get boba, I tried my partner's. The texture and taste of the boba were chewy, not gummy, and just sweet enough they didn't take over the drink. The actual beverages of choice were wonderful too.

Service was polite and brisk. The folks handling orders, drinks and food were all pleasant.

Atmosphere was quiet and quaint. Definitely a place to stop in and get takeout or a quick drink.

I imagine the other offerings would be just as wonderful!

I've written a lot of reviews about Thai restaurants... This is the first that makes you feel like you are in Thailand. Very simple menu but the flavor is incredible and authentic. The boba is underrated. I've had both chicken rice and the pad thai and I could eat them every day if I wanted. Great local place that is consistent and tastes fantastic.

Perfect, I will definitely be back. The Thai tea is amazing, and the pearls are some of the best I’ve ever had. So sweet and fresh. We got the large fried chicken rice, and it was plenty for both of us. Also got mango sticky rice for a great price.

Diner Review №76

This is the highest quality milk tea and boba that I’ve had in OKC. I grew up in the Houston area and I’ve had a loooot of bubble tea and this is 10/10 bubble tea, the ingredients are super high quality and the boba is the perfect texture 💛 definitely coming back 👍 the food is also excellent!

Diner Review №77

I've taken my wife to this place twice now and we both love it. Everything they make is delicious. They have a small menu and they do it very well.

If you happen to go when they have mango rice available, you should definitely get it. They only have 1 table. Most people do carry out. We highly recommend this place.

I stopped in here on a lark one afternoon. The menu is simple, but that's that's good thing. I ordered the crispy chicken with rice, and it didn't disappoint. The real standout the variety of drinks there are to choose from. I had the coffee with Boba, and was very happy with it. In fact I plan to go back to try more of the drink combos. On top of that, I got to talk cycling with the staff. Definitely glad I swung in.

Got chicken pad thai that was high quality but half the quantity of any thai place I've been to, and was incredibly spicy for having not asked what spice level I wanted (and I mean, mouth on fire, nose running, can't even taste the dish anymore kind of hot). Really cute establishment and the drinks looked tasty.

Came in and got two boba drinks, mediocre, not any better than boba drinks around in Okc (Sharetea way better). But what is it with customer service here? No “Hi, may I help you?” And definitely no, “ Thankyou, please come again.” We will not be back.

Diner Review №104

First time customer today and it was amazing! 3 things o the menu and all are perfect!!! Will definitely come regularly now!

Diner Review №105

So good! I ordered the combo chicken and rice and the flavor was so delicious! I also ordered hojicha milk tea, the toasty flavor went well with everything and the sauces were all delicious!
My one complaint is with the chicken, it was over cooked. Not as much as it usually is compared to other restaurants, and chicken is fickle so it could be a one-off deal, also I think my overdone chicken range is tighter then most people’s so overall it was a very satisfying meal.

Diner Review №106

Diner Review №107

I'm gonna be honest, I love the Thai Chicken Rice. I would pour a little bit of the soup on the rice and it would make it taste even better. I, however, do not like the pad thai. It tastes so dry and the noodles are kind of hard and not chewy, especially, when you put it in the fridge for later use. I love the oolong and coconut milk tea. Overall, I am satisfied but I hope you guys would revisit the pad thai. I think it has a lot of bean sprouts that kind of overpowered the taste and the pad thai sauce seems that the amount used was minimum. Thank you for the service.

Diner Review №112

First of all, they are such kind and welcoming people. The food is amazing and everything about it. It is fresh, aromatic and so so so good. The ginger sauce is amazing. I even have to say the packaging of the Thai chicken rice is perfect because even though there are a ton of sauces in there none of them tipped over or opened in the trajectory to my dinner table which I truly appreciate. Also their butterfly latte with boba is to die for. All in all would definitely recommend.

Diner Review №123

My first time here. The woman behind the counter took our money but forgot about us. It took us 30 minutes to get our order of egg rolls and a coffee. Chinese proverb. If you do not smile do not open shop. Being rude and obnoxious is unacceptable behavior and the service is slow.

Diner Review №124

Surprisingly very delicious! This concept is not really my thing— but my boyfriend has been wanting to go since they opened. Last night we walked over to try it for the first time. To break it down, they serve just a couple dishes. They have options for pad thai and then they serve kao mung gai. Kao mung gai is chicken, steamed or fried, rice, cucumbers, soup, and sauces.

To give you an idea of what kao mung gai is they have a few plates to the left of the register mocked up with the dish choices. These honestly made me less inclined to try it as the steamed chicken looked wholly unappetizing. So it was no surprise when I got the dish with fried chicken in lieu of the steamed.

The interior of the restaurant is pretty small. They have only one table to be used and then some stools that run along the back of the prep area, where there is no surface to put your plate.

We sat at the only available table. When I asked for a cup of water they told me they only had bottled water available. That was disappointing to me.

However, my boyfriend really loved his drink. This restaurant serves several options of boba tea, coffee, and other drinks. He tried the iced coffee and thought it was very good.

Service was very friendly! She was helpful and seemed to really enjoy having us in. Another couple came by at the same time to eat there but left because there was nowhere to sit. Prices were also very fair for the teas and the food. Serving sizes were appropriate.

I don’t think I would go back just because it is not really my preferred choice. I do know that my boyfriend will be going back more often now. He already made plans to go back for lunch with his dad.

Thank you! I hope this little business sticks around.

Their drinks were VERY mellow, with the only flavoring coming from what seems like a hint of diluted condensed milk. I haven't tried others, but I don't recommend butterfly latte or horchado milk.

The chicken and rice is outstanding. Potent iced coffee too.
