Contemporary Pan-Asian joint serving sushi & Thai classics in a cheerful strip-center locale.
Exceptionally clean with fast and friendly service.
The chicken pad thai was very good but a little too sweet. I got the spicy level 4 (their highest) and it was not that spicy. Next time I'll probably ask for them to double the spice.
The cashew chicken was excellent and I would absolutely recommend it.
We will be back!
I have been to Basil Thai couple of times. Their food is usually good, especially if you stick to their popular dishes. I like their pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles. This time I ordered ramen noodles and it is not so good. It felt more like having instant noodles. It's close to my office and I will visit again but try their usual menu. The price seems a little more especially for the quantity. Service is decent.
Tried the pad see ew for lunch on a weekday afternoon. Lots of seating and parking. Staff was attentive, food came quickly. Chicken was a bit overcooked, flavor was okay. Portions were on the smaller side. Relatively expensive for what you get. Nothing really stood out. Definitely better bang for your buck elsewhere.
A dish that was well-cooked in a kitchen that ran out of seasoning and grownup sized serving containers… Basil Thai’s green curry.
To be clear, this negative review does not reflect my opinion of the service. The food was ready before the projected time, and the girl who brought me the food was polite. But the food: The green curry tasted like hot water with a “hint” of basil.
And the portion: I paid $14 for what should cost no more than $8. How dare they be stingy with this bland slop! The only reason I gave it 2 stars, instead of 1, is that at least they didn’t over-cook the veggies and chicken.
This place was a nice surprise. It is in a strip mall but it was nicely decorated, menu had a lot of options, my food was almost too pretty to eat, food was delicious, staff were friendly and professional, price was about $20 with a drink. I had one of the stir fry entrees.
Excellent atmosphere and service. The restaurant has a modern feel to it. I ordered the Thai spring rolls and tofu pad thai, which was delivered promptly. The spring rolls were crispy and had good depth of flavor, with a nice mixture of vegetables. I got the maximum heat (level 4) on the tofu pad thai, which had a nice balance of sweet and heat. The tofu was prepared well, crispy with a light coating, and the dish had plenty of bean sprouts and green onion throughout. I noticed that there were many regulars dining in, by the way they interacted with the waiter, which is no surprise because this place was fantastic. Basil Thai Bistro is one of the top Thai restaurants in the area, and I'll definitely be back!
Great food and great service
Food is really good ! The drunken noodles chicken 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Solid place
First time customer and it’s incredible. I got the drunken noodles, medium heat and it is spectacular.
Wonderful meal! The crazy tofu was outstanding!

Really enjoyed the Pad Thai - got it with shrimp and was pleasantly surprised at how many shrimp were included in the dish. Will definitely be back!
Quietly becoming one of my favorite Thai restaurants in town. the staff is friendly and the food has been perfect every time.
Great food, good service. It took a little longer than I anticipated but the food was well worth the wait. If you're going for lunch make sure you have ample time. Good food takes time.
My fiancé is a truck driver, so we travel a lot, and eat a lot of different food at many different places. I have eaten at plenty of Thai places and this one is the best, hands down. This place is special, everything I ate was a mind blowing 10/10. We ordered a few things to try: Veggie tom yum, pad Thai, pad se ew, pot stickers with the heavenly peanut sauce, Thai teas, the mango sticky rice, and the taro pearls in coconut cream. Do not take this place for granted, it is a blessing to the community.
Used to be very consistent and one of our go-to Thai eateries with the former management.
With the new management the food and service has dropped exponentially in quality. Won’t be going there again.
Have been eating here occasionally over the last few years. Apparently new ownership. Not good. Pad Thai has too much sweetener (!) in it. Basil chicken did not have the taste of basil in it. Won't be returning. Which is a shame.
Had a fantastic lunch - rainbow roll and thai fried rice. The sushi was so fresh and delicious and the rice was very flavorful and leftovers were tasty too.
Everything is really flavorful. I was pleasantly surprised by the spice level; normally when I order medium at other places, it’s actually pretty bland, but this was a satisfying level of heat. Friendly staff, big food portion, and takeout was ready within the promised time. Will make this my new regular place
I visited this restaurant for lunch with nine of my coworkers. While their food was ready in 15 minutes, mine took an hour to arrive, despite ordering the same dish. I informed the staff twice, but received no response. By the time my food was finally ready, I had to pack it to go as I no longer had time to eat. Additionally, the lunch portion of the food was tiny and the price was for dinner. Poor service and pricy.
Tasty food, quantity is just right for a picky eater. But the quality of food is absolutely amazing. Would definitely return.
Quick and really good food. Nice clean restaurant, will definitely eat there agian.
The entrees are absolutely fantastic, but the appetizers are just 'ehhh'
Great service, and the best massaman curry I've ever had!
We got the Chicken & Rice soup, a sushi bento box and a special roll. The food was delicious and prices as expected for sushi. Highly recommend, I would go back in a heartbeat if I'm in the area again.
Food was sub-par to other Thai places I have eaten at. The food came out before the appetizers, and the sushi was just yuck! Not prepared well at all. Really think you should hire a good sushi chef and kitchen chef to do better.
Service is good and fast.
Food is okay.
Pricy.
Almost $50 bill for lunch for two. Watch out for $3 extra for beef option (didn't see it on menu)
There are many Thai places in town that are better and cheaper.
This place was a nice surprise. It is in a strip mall but it was nicely decorated, menu had a lot of options, my food was almost too pretty to eat, food was delicious, staff were friendly and professional, price was about $20 with a drink. I had one of the stir fry entrees.
Food was delicious and freshly made. Our server was attentive to our needs.
New owners. Pad Thai with Tofu was so good and a big portion. Enough for another meal. Also had egg rolls for first time there and they were best I’ve ever had. Keep it up. Will be coming back a lot with my friends. Did pu for first time to bring home.
Elevated respect from the servers and delicious food eloquently presented is what you enjoy upon each order. If you enjoy fruit drinks, I recommend their Longan drink. Natural and not too sweet but refreshing as you can wish for. It's a wonderful family restaurant.
Very tasty food, love the addition of the sushi menu. Decent service given it was a busy lunch rush during the holidays.
I've eaten here for several years, and been consistently satisfied. Unfortunately, the business has been sold, the menu changed. The quality of preparation is still there, but the spring roll is now more like an egg roll... etc.
Great food, great people!
Ordered online at 10am to pick up at 1145am. Still wasn't ready and had a long wait with others. One person to seat people, take orders, answer the phone and bag up take out orders. They need more help. Food ordered for VIP. He loved it!
Today 11/2/23 I had lunch and the service was awful they totally mistreated myself and my coworkers who told me they had excellent food and customers however this was her first time dinning in the restaurant and learn that they do not like Black people at all also other guest watched and agreed that we were being mistreated
It was a very awful experience. I’ve ordered many times to go however, today I decided to dine in and neither server really wanted to care for me and my guest the server was very short and unpleasant while speaking she did not bring out everything that we ordered she was very rude. However, we watched her be very pleasant and nice to all the other guest therefore I know she was racist towards blacks and Indians. I highly don’t recommend this restaurant due to the service I receive.
This is a wonderful thai restaurant with active owner(s) visibly involved and proud to be serving guests well. We highly recommend!
👎
Absolutely phenomenal as always and the staff is always friendly and helpful.
We went early so service was fast. Not crazy for the appetizer we picked, but I was very pleased with their willingness to modify an entree for me to leave out the spice (gastric problem) and switch to a milder sauce. Liked the dessert we took home as well. Very friendly server.
Quick service and great food !
Waited almost an hour for carry out. Quoted 25 minutes
I went here for the first time today. I got two carryout orders. I’ve only eaten the shrimp and noodles. I ate the shrimp and a few noodles and threw the rest in the trash. It was sweet, I do not want sweet Asian food. If I want something sweet, I’ll eat a piece of cake. I’ll get back to you about the beef and rice but if it taste like sugar it will be going in the trash also. Will not be eating here again.
Food is good here. Ordered basil fried rice, hot basil curry, veg dumplings, thai spicy curry, papaya salad, sticky rice. Except veg dumplings & sticky rice other food were good.
I ordered pad Thai. It was delicious with tons of chicken and shrimp. The patio is gorgeous!
I love this place
Food is great, 5/5
Portions are average size, 4/5
Prices are a little high, 3/5
Service is excellent, 5/5
We typically go here for work lunches. Taste is as authentic as it gets. Customers service is great. Cleanliness and ambiance on point.
I am giving it 4 stars because of the price. Compared to any other Thai restaurant in Greater Cincinnati, their lunch special prices or even dinner menu prices are on the higher side. A lunch special curry with just vegetables will cost you 16$ and with meat, it can reach 18$. Not sure how they justify that as a lunch special.
Superfantastic experience. Great service great food. I had a business meeting and everyone was pleased! We will be back when in the area again!!
The food was very fresh and very tasty. We brought the kids and they each found something to eat and enjoyed it. They also had boba tea, the boba was very fresh. We will be back. The service was very good.
Great restaurant. The food was good and the service was excellent.
Drunken noodles are delicious here.
Ordered the Drunkin Noodle with Shrimp. Two for spice it was delicious
Great!
Food is amazing BUT their opening time isn’t true . Don’t look in google to know what time they are open because you’ll never know . Can u imagine you drive 15 mins to the place hoping to enjoy ur delicious meal but u realize the place is closed ? I feel terrible .
I've had dinner here a few times over the years, when visiting from out-of-town to watch the annual Western & Southern tennis tournament.
The food is consistently great - large portions, seemingly fresh and well-cooked vegetables, and accurate spice levels. Price is reasonable for what it is!
Overall, I'd rate Basil Thai a 3.75/5; I lean a bit closer to four but not quite there. I have ordered delivery from this restaurant twice. It is timely and always arrives warm, which is awesome!
I am pescatarian, and I always order my meals with shrimp. You get... a kinda disappointing amount considering the upcharge that's applied. The shrimp is also just a bit overcooked- but still enjoyable, and other flavors in the dish can easily make up for that.
Speaking of flavors, that is where this restaurant shines! I have thoroughly enjoyed the Pad Thai, Yellow Curry, and Tom Kha soup here. Especially the yellow curry- wow! The flavor is nothing short of soul satisfying. The Thai Tea is a touch on the sweet side for my tastes, but is still delicious- makes for a great dessert option.
I think this will be my go-to Thai place in the area- but they can really make a splash if they make just a few tiny adjustments to improve quality. Keep up the good work and keep growing!
Mansaman curry and phad thai is delicious!!
The pad thai was amazing!!!
Order delivery. Did not give any fork…..
Would have loved to try this place but unfortunately, they choose when they are open and when they aren't. Online said 9, we arrived before 8 after driving and wasting time (30 minutes away) and money (could've been going to another restaurant and fuel at $5 a gallon) just to show up on a Friday and they are completely closed. I was beyond hangry to say the least!
Crab Rangoons are light as a feather. Bangkok noodles are my go to here. Looks like dine in business is starting to pick up again for them.
vegan and vegetarian options, really authentic and well seasoned. portion sizes could be a bit larger.
They came VERY SMALL portion. Almost like leftover… the waiter is very IMPATIENT at pick up… NOT recommend.
I ordered 4 dinner entries, 2 salads and satay chicken… for 4 adults and 2 kids, they're just enough. Fortunately our family has small appetite, AND I usually order much more than what we could eat.
The Red Curry I received,Imy family thought that's a left over!!!! Definitely not like what's on the Google pictures… and they Only give one small box of rice (3/4 Full of small box) for two entries those supposed to come with rice.…
Usually other Thai restaurants would give at lease 3x bigger size of food with lower price……
Too bad, food is less and expensive 👎👎never again !
Great spice and flavor, service was good.
Delicious thai dishes full of exotic flavor. Try the fried whole red snapper fish, thai curries and noodles.
Love the Pad Thai, Won-ton soup, Pineapple Fried Rice and Thai Fried Rice. My kids always ask for the Thai fried rice with chicken and no spice. Food is always hot and delicious!
Great food, nice quiet and clean atmosphere.
great food. the duck was nice and tender and not a bit greasy.
The food is amazing. The only bad thing I can say about it is that it causes cravings. Love the noodle soup. Tried the fried rice today and now I have a new craving. I order from Door Dash and the food is always piping hot when it arrives. And delicious!
Service was great. The food, not so much. Never again.
The food tastes great but the quantity was less. Unfortunately we found hair in our chicken satay ( one of the three ). They replaced that single piece.
They are charging 20% gratuity by default in main bill without taking permission. Not a good experience at all.
The food was good but the server charged me and my wife by default a 20% gratuity without even asking us. This was insane..
The pineapple rice is a frequent must
Will NEVER patronize this restaurant again! Went to pick up an order and wasn't allowed to use the restroom. Was stopped and told no. As a patron of an establishment, use of the restroom facilities, usually goes hand in hand.
Some of the best Thai food I've ever had. Very very good!
Spent a little more for lunch because a. they raised their p menu prices and, b. wanted to try something never had. Got fried tofu and Pad Thai. Was actually disappointed in both. The fried tofu was bland. Even though they include a dipping sauce, it must have evaporated because there was barely any in the little container. Normally get the Pad Thai with a spicy ratio of 8, but they must have given me a 3 because there was very little heat. That our the 10 is🔥! but the good was served hot and timely.
Great food
The male cashier was very, VERY rude!
Edit: Food has taken a turn for the worse. Used to have flavor and be delicious. Won't likely be returning unless reviews drastically improve. Be warned.
Very good, one of my favorite Thai restaurants! Service can be a little on the slow side, but the food more than makes up for it (plus, we need to slow down more frequently these days). :)
Yum! Love their tofu and dishes. Beautiful atmosphere!
Very fast and friendly
people who runs this place have huge attitude issues. They don’t really care about customers. Very rude and arrogant.
Portions were decent. Tomkha (soup) was horrible, I must say. Drunken noodle, however, was kinda good.
Everything thing ordered was 👍
Spicy 🔥 but if your eating Thai it's to be expected. Plenty of done in space food was great.
Best cashew chicken in the city . Will be back again
Horrible service for such pricey place. Food in all is mediocre as far as taste. Customer service makes the best food taste even worse.
Do not recommend it. We didn't even get napkins. and my bill arrived faster than my food did.
When I asked the waiter a question or tried to be walked even faster to ignore me then did the v same to my wife.
Awful. Staff are very hard to deal with and have huge attitude issues. Their arrogance and rudeness hinder their ability to understand what the customer needs. Me and my family are vegetarian and ordered food that fit the description of what we can eat. The food that was delivered to us had a funny smell and happened to be meat. If you are adamant on ordering here, list everything you can’t eat to get some clarity beyond the menu description because as the staff says “EVerYoNe kNOwS whAt iS In ThAi FoOd”.
They don’t list what is in their food so if you have some dietary restrictions like me, assume everything you can’t eat is in the food because the menu will not tell you. Staff are very rude, and quite arrogant. If you must eat here, make a list of all you can’t eat and repeat to them over and over again and pray. @Google, need a 0 star rating option.
This is not a good place if you are looking for an good food.. Only appearance is good not taste. Wait staff have attitude issues. They tip what ever they want and add to bill without asking the customer, it's a complete ripoff. Price, food quality and quantity does not match. Will never go to this restaurant again and will not recommend to any friends.
Really yummy Thai food! Pad See Ewe and Chicken Teriyaki always delicious
Great food but Customer Service needs some touch ups
Ordered carryout online-drunken noodle was excellent. Mango curry also great. My dad had the cashew dish and really liked it.
Food was hot and done when they said it would be. Friendly and efficient service.
I got the pad thai and it wasn't bad for the price. I ordered takeout and it was done ahead of schedule and still nice and hot when I got home. The only thing that disappointed me was that they asked me to choose the spice level (I chose hot) and there was no spice to the dish whatsoever so I threw on some cayenne pepper when I got home.
Lady is rude and very nasty.
I hate how they treat the customers. They close at 9:00 PM on weekdays and they won’t allow for dine in even at 8:00 PM which I didn’t like personally. They gave me the reason that they need to clean the tables. I agree with them if they have told me the same at 8:30 PM. Closing the dine in at 8:00 PM is not acceptable for the customers who travel for 30 mins. We can’t do a carry out and drive 30 mins and eat the food. I didn’t like their treatment very first time and still preferred to go there and it’s happening to me every time. Strongly not recommended this place for who are looking for respectable place.
Really good food... had the Pho...
Felt food was pricey. Quality lacking. $14 for chicken pad thai dinner portion which seemed to be the same portion size as lunch which is much lower in price. Not sure why it costs $5 more. Not planning to return.
Best Thai restaurant in the area. I go here almost every week.
Ordered pad thai without meat. The dish was honestly lacking flavor. It didn't have that authentic taste. They didn't even put a lime on the side to squeeze over. Ordered the calamari which looks like frozen onion rings. They definitely are not making that! I have had amazing calamari before and this was horrible. Had a fishy stink to it also. Banana leaf and Thai Spicy were closed so I chose this place. Big mistake. Will not return.
Very bad customer service
It's good
All of our dishes had great flavor and were very fresh. Restaurant was also spotlessly clean.
Stopped by here for lunch but wanted the dinner portion. Was very disappointed. I asked for extra sauce so my food wouldn’t be dry when I mixed it with rice and extra peppers. The lady who took my order kept shaking her head yes when I asked for the extra sauce and peppers. I receive my food...anddddd surprise, no extra sauce or peppers. I went back to get the extra peppers because I absolutely can’t eat Thai food if it isn’t spicy. I didn’t even bother with the extra sauce at this point. The food wasn’t good. Just overall disappointed.
Yummy stuff! Pineapple fried rice with chicken. Friendly, fast service.
Outstanding. Flavorful. Definitely coming back for more.
OK. Fast Service. Fair prices. But I will not return unless I have to.
Poor service and servers have an arrogant attitude towards customers. Charged a 20% gratuity for a party of 4 for lunch without informing us at random and did not have an explanation for it.
Average food and staff is way too arrogant. They pick fights with customers on racism.
Also, falsely charge 20% tip on certain checks randomly.
Food is delicious, service is great. They were very quick with making my order.
Very good. If you like it spicy make sure you go extra hot
Delicious drunken noodle!
Absolutely EXCELLENT Restaurant! Very clean. Staff is top quality efficient. Food is indescribably delicious!!
One of my favorite places to eat in blue ash. Try their pineapple fried rice!
I always get lunch chicken pad thai and its consistently good. Fast lunch service.
