Stylish Japanese eatery offering innovative maki rolls & Japanese entrees with a dine-at sushi bar.
I recently tried Wasabi Sushi & Asian Grill in Fargo, and I absolutely loved it! The place itself is super inviting with a nice, contemporary feel. I went for the Red Dragon and Rainbow rolls, and both were stellar. The Red Dragon roll was the perfect mix of spicy and savory, and it had this amazing freshness that you can only get from top-quality sushi. The Rainbow roll was a colorful delight, loaded with a variety of fresh fish that melted in my mouth, all wrapped around perfectly seasoned rice.
The service was fantastic—friendly and attentive. They really made the meal enjoyable, ensuring everything was just right. If you find yourself in Fargo and have a sushi craving, Wasabi is the place to go. I can’t wait to go back and explore more of their menu!
Stopped here for dinner on a weekday while checking out Fargo for two nights during a road trip. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly. The waitress Dani gave some great recommendations and made the experience great. I tried two pieces of sasihimi and beef bulgogi. Both were delicious and came out quick.
Great management, such a friendly experience and I’d recommend any day! The food was delicious, especially the ramen!
Great service, great food, and great location!! Whenever I have family or friends in town this is the place I bring them!

Best in town. I loved the food and it was very authentic. Will definitely recommend to all of my friends. They’ll
Best sushi in Fargo

Great little restaurant. Great food, everything was fresh, prices were very good for the quality. Only stopped while passing through but I'll be back the next time I'm in town for sure.
I was skeptical of trying any other place than Izumis (I'm a sushi newbie). Wasabi blew me away with selection and the taste! Can't wait to go again.
The 911 specialty roll and the lemon chicken were excellent!!!
The food are flavorful, very good presentation and the server is great and she's very pleasant.❗
Been coming to Wasabi for over a decade now. Moved far away from Fargo, but I always make sure I stop in when in town. Oh how I love and miss the Dakota roll! Apologies as my picture doesn't nearly do it justice but I didn't have the patience to take another one before crushing it. So good!
The food is less than expected. We had nigiri/sashimi combo, salad w/ ginger dressing, sweet potato vegetarian rolls, edamame and plum wine. The mixed green accompanying the nigiri was awful and wilted. It points to a kitchen that doesn’t care. There were only a few leaves of greens and they could have been left out! The sweet potato rolls vegetarian rolls were uninspired—I would be ashamed of serving them at my home. There was nothing professional about them! The salad was drowned in the dressing and the ginger was too chunky and it too sweet. The edamame were fine accompanying soy, sesame and hot pepper was good. And the plum wine was fine. The service was fast and efficient. There was zero ambiance. I don’t think we will be returning.
Sometime service can be hit or miss, but the food has always been 5/5. pretty good prices for sushi to boot.
Amazing restaurant in downtown Fargo. The front counter offers some wonderful poke bowl options, but the real draw of this place is in the seated back area. The sushi is some of the highest quality in the area and it’s easily a top spot for a great meal.
Not bad, just not very good either. We had two of the “special bowls”, one beef and the other chicken curry. Both were uninspired, overcooked and overpriced. $14. for a large portion of sticky white rice and a battered and deep fried chicken fillet with a spoonful of overly sweet curry sauce.
Loud music. Rude waiter. Smelly. Haven’t gotten the food yet so we’ll see. Won’t come back.
What a wonderful place. Excellent sushi. The misu soup was a just alright, but the rest made up for it. I especially liked the ambience of the space. I cannot wait to enjoy again.
Just ordered the veggie roll and sweet potato roll. They were both so good. The sweet potato roll had like a lil crunch to it it was delicious. Sever was great !!!! my rowdy baby destroying everything she touches and he was like so great ! Definitely. Coming back next time I come to Fargo
I was back in Fargo to meet up with a friend and we decided to have dinner here. We were both disappointed with both service and food. It used to be good and was one of our favorite places to eat. I ordered Chirashi and my friend ordered some rolls. Quality of the fish was awful. They were not fresh whatsoever. Too much water must have been used to cook rice as they were so mushy. We couldn’t finish the meal. I noticed a similar review about the rice from a few weeks ago. Not sure if we’d go back there again.
The sushi rice was overwatered - a little bit mushier. Kinda ruined the whole bowl. Salmon pieces were too large for me. No choice for citrusy sweet fruit to add to the bowl.
Delicious. Wonderful atmosphere for date night.
Honestly my FAVORITE place downtown! Super affordable with fresh and amazing flavors! Whenever I want to go for a quick lunch poke bowl is where it’s at!
The sushi is to die for. We got the Corona and the yellowtail, and omg, it was so good. The waiter Tristan, I believe, was so kind, and the place itself is beautiful. I can't wait to go back!!
Love the shrimp tempura roll. It's not on the menu but just ask for it.
Always amazing
Poke bowls are a new favorite
Their 911 roll and heart attack are the best.
Delicious! Love the atmosphere!
I thought I didn't like sushi before coming here. But after I cleaned my plate of the "broken heart" roll, I can say without a doubt I'll be back.
In many ways I do miss their old location on NP. The atmosphere there was great. Dark, intimate, backroom feel, etc. It was a great place for date night or just hanging out with friends. That being said the Sushi here is still great. Gotta start off with the Heart Attacks. Fun twist on a jelepeno popper. Both the basic and specialty rolls are delicious in both size and taste. The two roll deluxe is the best value. If you can get here for lunch, the Bento boxes are a filling lunch. Been going here for years and it's still the best sushi in Fargo.
Absolutely love the food here. Great selection of sushi and menu items. I would leave 5 stars except the service has been lacking lately. The online and phone orders seem to take precedence over the in store customers. Other than that I highly recommend!
It would have been nice to be informed the kitchen would be closing 10-15m before it closed, rather than trying to order a second round of sushi only to be told that it had closed 10m prior. Server visited the table often, but never mentioned the kitchen closing soon.
Pretty damn good food, if it wasn't the for the price it would have been 5 stars! 50 for 2 meals, tip, and 2 beers and is a walkthrough food order like subways is a little too much to. The tip is the main thing. Tipping when you have to walk through a line to order your food and clear your own table does not seem appropriate. I always tip if it's available but only tip a few bucks for things like this unless it's expected which this place was so I tipped 20% which should not be the case unless they are waiting on your table. If the cooks and line workers behind the counter are not making enough then that is on the restaurant to start paying them better. I do not know anything about how this place treats its staff but everybody was friendly there.
Nice little place. Mostly sushi, not much on the grill options.
food and service was great. we even came in around the time the kitchen was closing after lunch time. we didn't know this and they were very friendly and food was tasty
The good is excellent
👍
I’m obsessed with this place. The sushi is amazing, the price is perfect, and the staff is great. I’ve had the same server every time and he is so incredibly sweet. I prefer Wasabi over any other sushi restaurant in the area!
Both Wasabi and Poke Bowl are awesome places to dine downtown! They are always quick and have great service!
The Poké bowls that they serve there are SUPER delicious! It's kind of like having sushi, except unwrapped and served in a bowl. They're surprisingly filling, but a little on the spendy side. That aside, the staff are friendly and do a good job at upselling, and the front area is always clean when I go. Since this place doubles as an eat-in restaurant, I wish (from a business prospective) that they put more emphasis on the restaurant side. When you first walk through the door, it's hard to tell that there's an actual restaurant inside of there as well. The place where they sell the poké bowls outshines the restaurant entrance even though it's right there in front of you when you walk in. Anyhow, as for the poké bowl side, I'd recommend 👌🏾
Great place to get a bite to eat
Had an absolutely amazing meal here today! The teriyaki salmon was excellent, all the rolls were made with care, and our first experience with takoyaki was not a disappointment. Better sushi than Osaka or Kobi's by a bound.
We had another visit that was pretty lack luster. Was very busy with an incredibly long wait and the food didn't come out exactly right. Teriyaki salmon was still very tasty.
Very good sushi restaurant.
This is my go-to place for a Japanese resto. Great selection and really tasty food!
We were longtime fans of Wasabi, but haven't liked their food since they moved to their new location. This previous visit will be our last, unfortunately. While the service was great, we all found the sushi inedible. The rice was too moist, tasted strongly of vinegar, and had a gelatinous dough-like texture that was really unappetizing. We ended up leaving nearly half our sushi uneaten. When I mentioned the issue to the server, he apologized but made no attempt to address it other than letting the chef know.
a little loud; decent service, but not standout fare. Not a bad price, decent presentation and texture, but bland flavours.
The Poke Bowl was amazing, and I will go all time.
Excellent food but in comparison to the previous Wasabi the staff is slower and unenthusiastic and our tables food came out at different times.
Nice needs more options.
Loved the sushi and beef bulgogi
My favorite place in town to eat. Poke bowls are amazing and the point system is a must!
Great sushi... they have gluten free soy sauce as well!
Best sushi in the Fargo-Moorhead area!
Loved the food! Great service as well. Cutest little restaurant tucked away downtown.
Great food and service as always!
Sushi was warm...not impressed
Best sushi in fargo
Used to be the best sushi place in town, however since moving locations my satisfaction has gone from a 5 to a 2 rating. Would be great if the menu could be added to there website, very difficult to order online or by phone with no descriptions.
First time eating here and.. wow! Absolutely blown away at how friendly the servers are, and how amazing the food is. I will never go to another sushi restaurant in Fargo again. Izumi who???
First off let me say I think wasabi has the best sushi in town hands down. I love to get the nigiri plate. The reason I only gave them 2 stars is the prices. I get that fresh sushi grade fish isnt cheap. But the nigiri plate is up to 13 dollars now. Am I the only one who thinks thats a bit extreme? If it was 10 dollars id eat there multiple times a week. But for now its a special thing on occasion.
The best place to get sushi in the FM area hands down! And they always play great music!
Food and service are EXCELLENT. My favorite place to eat in Fargo!
Hands down the best sushi around. Corona roll and sashimi salad are on point and scrumptious!
Great sushi, and a variety of cooked foods if you don't want raw fish
Always fast, fresh, and DELICIOUS. Literally everything there is good, and if they have them when you go, try the curry chicken sweet potato puffs, they're absolutely phenomenal!
Always a treat!
Great sushi, kind staff, fast service! Great beer aswell!!
Small business & good food. Love the local places!
Excellent food. Excellent service.
Lovely bistro! The flat bread and infused tea were delicious! Great venue to dine in, grab delicious food to go, or a thirst quenching infused tea or lemonade. Not to mention their delectable chocolate cake and other desserts!
Always a treat.
Was expecting authentic Japanese
The waiter was great! Dont remember his name and of course the food was wonderful
So good!
The food was delicious and reasonably priced.
The service was excellent, the server helped walk us through all our questions and gave good suggestions.
The atmosphere was nice.
The best
Best sushi in town!!
good sushi
Who knew you could have good sushi in Fargo? Not bad priced either definitely will be back!
This has been our favorite Japanese restaurant in Fargo for some time. The service and atmosphere is great and the food is incredible. We are so lucky to have a place like this in downtown Fargo.
Food was amazing and price was fair. Service was alittle slow but our waiter was very attentive.
Favorite sushi in fargo/moorhead!!
Always love your place and the new location is wonderful! Great service, great food and always worth it!
The Nigri/Sashimi Combo is amazing
Great service, awesome food, cozy environment. I have always had a great experience here.
