Cozy Thai restaurant with traditional Asian decor serving standard menu of curries, noodles & more.
This was my first time going to Thai House, even though I’ve seen it around for years, and it was amazing! The food came out quick, hot and DELICIOUS. The menu is simple, and you get a lot of food for the price. We ordered the Sweet and Sour chicken, Tiger Shrimp, Tom Kah and Curry (I don’t remember which one!). Service was kind and efficient. Will definitely recommend to others, and will be going back!.
The food was good. Pictured apps: TomKa soup w. shrimp and Summer rolls. The rolls are lighter option than Spring rolls as they aren't fried, so their texture reminded me of veggie sushi.
Tip: If you decide to have appetizers play dumb about ordering an entree because the kitchen did not time the entree to arrive after the appetizers were over. I'm not expecting Downton Abbey, just more awareness of what's going on w. your customer.
We had a wonderful time Christmas Eve at Thai House!! Started off with spring rolls and had thai fried rice, red curry chicken, and Penang! Victoria was an awesome waitress and told us all about the flavors. We got star 2 on Penang and it was PLENTY spicy. Highly recommend!
Most likely a drug problem occurring 1 1/2 hr till closing (sleepy eyes, somewhat incoherent)... I rang bell many times then called the store to get someone to come to the front... Overpriced I paid $27 for dumplings, 3/4 quart of what was a Large $15 Tom Kha soup?, and a Thai tea... the server looked like he was falling asleep... they are friendly folks but I feel there is underlying issue behind the scenes, anyone else have the same experience. Food tasted decent but I’m hesitant to ever come back again due to the observations.
Girl hung up in my face because I called and canceled my order because I wanted to be courteous and let them know I didn’t realize there are two restaurants in my city with the same name.
Thai house please stop letting teenagers answer your phone . It was an honest mistake and I didn’t even have to call and cancel I could’ve been rude like everyone else . Must be the owners daughter or something but she basically said I inconvenienced them by insinuating my food had been ready for a long time not possible when I just placed the order 5 min ago. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE.
Still my favorite restaurant ,for 16 years now. I highly recommend it to everyone !!!
Very delicious Thai food. The atmosphere was great and the people were friendly. Definitely a place to visit.
Great place stop by
Food is usually good. Lady in front always nice. They got rid of the stanky carpet but still LOW inspection score hs been that way for awhile…I’m scared to think of what goes on in that kitchen… I stick with the pad Thai I had something else before that was nasty but still had to pay. PRICES ARE UP but still low score…
I forgot to take pictures of the food. All the dishes we ordered were beautiful and delicious. 1 portion was so big that we had to go home to enjoy it
The food was wonderful! Super calm atmosphere and fresh sea food. Service was fast and wonderful! Would recommend
Everyone was nice. Food was prompt and yummy!
Boring food. Understaffed
Service was great, good atmosphere, but the food could have been served to a hospital patient. Ordered Pad Thai, spice 4/5, bland as a bowl of white rice. My 7 year old could have eaten that and would have asked for more heat. Very disappointing. Came with a side of “egg drop” soup, should just call it vegetable soup. Watery, no flavor, and had carrots, tofu and other veggies in it…..never had egg drop soup with so many ingredients other than egg.
Like it and so delicious
Roaches crawling in and out of the walls next to the tables. Owner said that she just bought the place last week and that the exterminator was coming out soon. I just went through reviews dating back to 4 years ago…. Multiple reviews with Roach complaints. Also really awful toilet water smell in the restaurant. The owner did not charge us for the food. We felt bad, but again reading the reviews… this clearly has been going on for years. So I feel inclined even more so to let others know.
Recent Change in past few weeks. Prices and quantity are up, taste has gone down.
Lunch starts at $15 but portions are larger. 3 star hot wasn’t. After 15 years of eating there probably won’t again.
Appears that there had been a change of ownership, Dee the former owner and chief is gone
The owner couple was so sweet and Gloria(wife) provided A++ customer service. The flavors are authentic and the dishes are absolutely delicious. Highly recommend visiting for a memorable dining experience.
The food is delicious..and the staff is so friendly
So good! First time having Thai food and I like it :) ty!
One of the best oriental food places I have eaten at in the Raleigh area
The food was good. Pictured apps: TomKa soup w. shrimp and Summer rolls. The rolls are lighter option than Spring rolls as they aren't fried, so their texture reminded me of veggie sushi.
Tip: If you decide to have appetizers play dumb about ordering an entree because the kitchen did not time the entree to arrive after the appetizers were over. I'm not expecting Downton Abbey, just more awareness of what's going on w. your customer.
Strong fish odor
My first trip / experience here. I googled and saw they had Nom Tok on the menu. That's mainly what I wanted.
Well.... never again . The portion was super small, did not come with rice, raw cabbage nor even lettuce ( usually to wrap it in)
For the $10 I could've had a better meal elsewhere I ordered the fresh rolls it barely had shrimp & was filled only with cheap ol lettuce. $7/2 pfft rip off .
They also had no dine in . BIG FIRST TIME DISAPPOINTMENT!!
Will not return ...not for such a skimpy dish... maybe that's why there was no customers waiting on orders,
We ate here for the first time last Wednesday. The food was wonderful- I had some Tom Yung soup with shrimp and the chicken Pad Thai. The soup was the best I have had, but all else was very, very good. My wife had the eggplant dish. The preparation of the eggplant was the best we ever have had. the portions were generous, but there was little spice [we should have asked for some heat I gather]. The place became busy shortly after our arrival, so the service was slowed some, but remained accommodating and friendly. Highly recommended.
The Tom Kha soup is perfect and the Pad Thai is the best I've ever had. I'm addicted lol.
Seriously understaffed but the hostess/waitress did a great job juggling all the tables. Food was very tasty especially the Pad Thai.
Just meh. Service was slow and the server seemed overwhelmed in spite of only 10 people in there. Food was just okay. Definitely better options in town. Restaurant itself was smelly. Won't be back
Amazing food and service. They have good portions of food.
I'd definitely come back if I'm craving Thai food.
Best Thai food in the area!
Great customer service. Good food. Had wonderful time dining at this place.
Great service, decent flavor pad thai, good dumplings
Been eating here for years! The best Pad Thai in the area for sure. Never had a bad experience at this hidden gem.
Great place! Go see them for great Thai food! Great Pad Thai, Thai Fried Rice, Pad See Ew (sp?), & the curry is awesome! Never had a bad meal there!
The food was great plus good allergen friendly options. However the staff was smoking inside when we got there they stopped but it smelled bad
I'm a Thai food lover, but this place is by far the WORST food I've ever had. I ordered wings (6) as an appetizer and they only brought out 5 because the cook said the wings are too big...REALLY?!!!!
Absolute FAVORITE Thai food in all the triangle. The owner grows some of the peppers and vegetables herself in her own yard. Love is put into every single dish- and you can taste the difference. A hidden gem in Raleigh.
This is a great restaurant, but the number of times I've called them and not had anyone answer the phone is ridiculous. They lose a lot of business because of their phone problems
Would not recommend this place the only thing that was appetizing was the chicken wings and Thai Tea. I was very excited about this place based on reviews. We got beef pad Thai and beef Thai fried rice. As soon as the food came out the meat smelled off and the texture was chewy and had no flavor. I am not that fussy costumer but I shared this with the waiter who was AMAZING!! I let her know about the problem with the food and I was going to pay for the food and just asked if the meat could be taken off our bill. Sadly the owner did no allow this so we ended up paying for a meal that we didn’t even eat because of the off putting smell. Also I heard a cat in the kitchen which I’m sure is health code violation. Sadly left paying $40 for food that we never enjoy or finish. Save your money and go elsewhere for Thai food.
Portion sizes were very small for prices. Beef drunken noodles hardly had any beef. Flavor was good but not worth being hungry after a pricey lunch 😞
First time trying will be back. Food came out fast. Waitress was good on point.
Seriously such good food and staff! First time here but will be back.
Excellent experience! Service was outstanding, and everything from the thai tea (just right, not too sweet) to the entrees (amount of spice was right on) was delectable.
Great food and service!
Came here after driving past it everyday and it’s so so good. The lady who I assume owns it is very friendly and makes amazing food. I’m going to get this whenever I can.
Always be my favorite. They have some new staff that really work hard to help you. Food is great. Only place in town that knows what "make it hot" means. Portions are getting smaller, but the quality has not suffered.
I live this Thai restaurant and love their food (beef masaman) - yummy!
Great Thai restaurant. Fantastic front of house service from Veronica/Victoria (my wife says I’m wrong about the name. She’s probably right LOL). Clean, comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. My wife was craving pad Thai, and it was super good. Had the spring rolls and fried tofu as apps, and they were fresh and tasty. The staff is happy, and the owner is always strolling around with a big smile. We’ll be back here for sure!
The owner is so nice and thoughtful, she will talk to customers about what they like and remember when they order again. If you want very spicy, ask for Lao style papaya salad. When she cooks the food, it is a good spice level, much spicier than usual. Very good flavor even with all the spice. My favorite Thai in Raleigh.
Good tasting. Reasonable portions
The food is delicious and the waitress is great. The only thing that is so disgusting that my stomach still turns when I think about it, there where cockroaches in the wall next to my shoulder while I was eating. After killing a cockroach I told the waiter and she told me that they will spray chemicals for the bugs tomorrow. But If the area where you eat has cockroaches I can not imagine the kitchen how unsanitary it must be.
I would have given 5 stars but the temperature in the restaurant was too warm for me. But the food is great!
Excellent
Great hidden gem. Not overly crowded, very comfortable dining area. The staff was friendly and very welcoming.
My meal was served quickly and was delicious. I recommend this spot for business lunch or casual night out.
Two words...Panang Curry. Yum!
Great lunch special. Food was good.
Best Thai food in the Raleigh area I’ve had! I got the green curry with tofu.
Terrible. Food was bland compared to other Thai restaurants.
Cute, sweet place with friendly staff and a great menu! Salad with incredible dressing. Lots of vegetarian options.
Great food!!!
Wonderful to finally be able to shine here. The food is fantastic. Please be patient, like so many other places, they are short staffed but it is well worth any wait
Some of the greatest Thai food I have ever eaten. Mama can cook a mean anything. Mama has daughter that is very nice too.
Always good food, friendly service and a quiet and intimate atmosphere. One of my favorite restaurants!
Your customer service is not good
Whoever the chick is answering the phone learn some manners and quit being rude.
The best pad thai in Raleigh
Been going here since they opened around 2006. Love the atmosphere, the staff, and especially the authentic traditional Thai food. Been loving the Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai, and Larb Kai for years!
Absolutely delicious food! Very kind service!
Yummy, but too many cockroaches were on out table the last time we visited this place.
My family has been enjoying the flavorful food at the Thai House for years. A couple of weeks ago we ordered take-out, 2 dishes we had ordered several times before. Unfortunately, both were terrible, not at all how they were made previously. We could only guess that there are new owners who just weren’t smart enough to maintain the same recipes. We will not return.
Got the seafood noodle soup. I ate about 5 bites before I couldnt take it. Tossed in the trash, as my hubby couldn't eat it either. The soup was weirdly....sweet? I was looking for the spice, garlic, lemongrass, and peppers I am used to at similar Thai eateries...not a yellow-brown soup with an off smell and strange candy-like taste. The artificial "squid" in it was so rubbery I could barely chew it. Shrimp were well overcooked and had a soft, unpleasant texture. It also costs $14.00. Will not order that dish again, and am seriously considering if I even want to go back.
Overpriced and did not even get the order right. I have a cold so my husband graciously went to pick up some of their Tom Yum Khoong soup with chicken (not shrimp) because the spicyness helps to clear me up a bit. We live 45 mins away so he picked it up on his drive home. When he got here, not only did they way over charge him for not even a quart of soup ($15 when their menu says something like $5.95) but it wasn't chicken, it was shrimp which I will not eat. In looking at these reviews, it seems there is a pattern here. Their food is mediocre, they over charge you and then don't want to rectify the situation. For me it was too late to go back, another 90 mins in the car (back and forth) was not a rational thing to do so in the garbage it went. Avoid if you can.
Good padseeew and thai tea!
I only went for Thai tea - it was refreshing. They do not serve with whipped cream, and my cup was leaking, which they fixed quickly (thank you)!
I love this place the food is amazing
PLEASE beware. On business trip. My husband wanted Thai. Looked at menu, placed order. When we received our food I reviewed our receipt. They overcharged us for all of the items we ordered and charged us a credit card fee! Amazing how the person forgot how to speak English when we confronted her, even though she articulated fine a half hour before.. We aren't familiar with the area and hadn't eaten all day so we ended up paying the additional $6+ more than what the actually cost. Food was mediocre at best. The Chicken Pad Thai was over cooked. The noodles were mushy, chicken was tough and dry. The chicken egg rolls were greasy and flavorless. The Thai fried rice with chicken wasn't seasoned at all and there were no condiments. The Thai BBQ wings were ok. Truthfully a waste of $45. Won't be going back
Really good red curry!
Woman acts like she can't speak English over cell & up prices order. If you must eat here, GO INSIDE & MAKE SURE YOU VERIFY YOUR ORDER W/$.
Can't imagine what we were eating if their that desperate to massively over charge. The recipt made no sense.
I've missed Thai food since part of the enjoyment is the atmosphere and sitting down in the restaurant but we aren't doing that these days anywhere. We finally decided to get takeout even though we live a distance away. My hubby and I ordered panang curry (my favorite) and he ordered pad Thai.. and we drove over and ate dinner while enjoying some local scenery. The food was piping hot and delicious, and my hubby thanked the lady who gave him our order since she was masked and concerned about safety! That scored big points with us and we'll be back!!!
I spent the night in the ER due to the food poisoning I received after eating here. The pad thai isn't pad thai. It's some sort of a greasy mess that will only scare you away from eating noodles ever again. I haven't eaten out since for fear that I will contract something half as bad as what this restaurant gave me. If I could give negative stars I would, but I can't seem to hack the HTML on this review page.
Delicious dumplings. Made in house.
Fish nasty
Every time I go there the people are friendly, helpful and very attentive and the Thai tea and food are delicious! I hope to be going back soon.
Best Thai food in Raleigh!
This is solely based on the customer service here this is the third time I have been to this restaurant and no one here is ever helpful! They always rush me out today I had a lady tell me after showing her pictures on my phone because they do not have a menu that none of the items were available! That they were simply out of everything that I showed her.. I said that's a real shame because I came here for the fried cheesecake, of fried cheesecake {comma} we have fried cheesecake! I just do not trust this place if they're willing to treat their customers like this.. I will continue to go to lemongrass where they do not mind educating me on Thai dishes seeing as that is not a common cuisine here in America.. and I also know that lemongrass has a very tasty menu as well as party dishes
Service was awesome and the food was great
I ordered spring rolls. Pad thai. Fried cheesecake. Even after waiting almost 30 minutes to eat it, it was really good! Cant wait to try something else from them.
Food is excellent. Red curry chicken soup and Pad Thai are my favorite. The soup portion is huge and it's guaranteed to clear your sinuses...in a good way. I gave 4 stars for slower service, small salad with too much dressing, and limited drink menu. Otherwise, the food is excellent. Fresh veggies, tasty
sauces and consistent food.
Very disappointed in this restaurant. We ordered using postmates at 5 pm. Food arrived at 6:10 We ordered 3 spring rolls, pork dumplings, red curry seafood entree, garlic pork stirfry the smaller size, teriyaki steak and mango and sticky rice which is listed as a seasonal item but for sale. there was no green curry available. we left instructions for everything to be spicy. all options were mild or flavorless except the red curry which had good flavor but wasnt spicy. The mango and sticky rice was not included in the order. When I reported the problem postmates refunded the order, I reordered the mango and sticky rice 2 orders this time at 6:15 pm . and received a text saying the merchant wasnt taking orders at this time. The garlic pork was not right they gave us garlic chicken and there was no spicyness to it at all, tons of cabbage and it tasted more like an american style pot pie. the presentation was lacking, tons of rice thrown into small foam containers which were bent up. the dumplings didnt taste authentic I've had better frozen dumplings. this order came to $130.00 . the red seafood curry tasted good, the teriyaki steak tasted good but was tough we asked for it to be medium rare but everything else was completely wrong for $130.00. very disappointed, will not be going back. as far as postmates the instruction was to knock on the door and leave the food, they never knocked just dropped the food outside the door haphazardly and ran.
I always love getting take out from here and they’re quick to get to go orders together!
Tasty food, good portions, fresh ingredients. My go-to spot for pad see ew in Raleigh. Pro tip: order extra veggies with basically every entree.
Great food, real Thai, really spicy.
Won't accept amex and the waitress is rude AF. 5 stars for the delicious food but -1 for the service.
Amazing customer service food made fresh every time! My new favorite restaurant! Vegan friendly!
Best Thai in the area
Consistently great
Very rude tonight. Never had this experience. Seemed busy on the phone and i get here to pick up and there are three tables sat. Not coming back here again.
This is hands down my absolute favourite restaurant in North Carolina. I have been coming here for at least 5 years and have never been let down. The staff is always prompt and genuine. The food is easily the most authentic Thai food you can get on the east coast. Mama G is the most kind woman, and does an excellent job at keeping the guests happy and full. Anyone who has anything negative to say about this restaurant has no taste. I’ve read reviews from other people and unless you know how to appreciate different tastes of the world certain people should keep their mouths shut. I would recommend this restaurant to any person who appreciates quality and authentic food. You will not be disappointed. I will continue coming here until I die :)
So delicious and the service was amazing! Definitely recommend a stop by!
Delicious food. Good and fast service. A little tucked away, but not hard to find.
Some of the best Thai food in Raleigh
Best Thai food we have ever had. Highly recommend the pad kee mao. We have had Thai across the country and this is always tops as the best ever.
Excellent Thai cuisine with reasonable prices!
My favorite Thai restaurant EVER! They are the best.
Best Thai in Raleigh. Hits the spot.
Great food and service.
I would have given 5 stars for this place had it not for the billing. We went as a group for lunch and asked for individual bills. The waitress did give us the individual bills, but during payment instead of informing us about adding tip amount she kind of demanding tip and then gave the reason. I felt it was little inappropriate. Otherwise the food was good and restaurant was nice and quite.
Lunch was served in only 3 minutes from ordering. Delicious, great and fast service.
Have eaten there several times. Kinda hidden spot...and the decor and ambience aren't all that special. That said, the food is really solid and their pad thai (particularly beef) is absolutely astounding. That dish alone bumps it from four stars to five. I find a plate of it so comforting. Also, I find their waitstaff to be incredibly efficient and "on their toes". I spent 20 years in the hospitality industry and can appreciate that. Highly recommend.
This is a pleasant little restaurant tucked away from the busy street outside the Raleigh beltway. Plenty of parking in a not-crowded area next to a supermarket. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, with a clean appearance and appropriate decor. Service is fast and friendly. We were warmly greeted by several staff members and promptly seated. Food arrived amazingly fast, and was very hot and fresh. Portions are good, the Basil Duck had more meat than many others I have tried. This makes up for the higher prices here. Flavor was somewhat Americanized, but still very delicious and tasty.
Overall, I recommend this as a solid Thai offering in the area for their fast friendly service and good food.
We stopped here for dinner on a Saturday night and the line was out of the door so we decided to leave and try our luck the next night
Food and service was great. Will be back
Great food and great staff. Nice atmosphere, especially for having a conversation. It's not loud and you can hear each other talk at normal voice.
Great Goodwood go again when in Raleigh
Ordered takeout on a Friday night - food was ready in 15 minutes and was delicious! I really enjoyed the pad see-ew and look forward to trying Thai House again soon.
Bold wood paneling with curated wall art, the inside is a feast for the eyes. The food however better. Introduced my son to curry and he was amazed at the warm glow and layered flavors. I don't have the opportunity to dine here as often as I'd like but I savor the meals I do.
This is one of my FAVORITE weekday places to eat. The food was unbelievably delicious as always.
Weekday lunch you get egg soup which is average but the Pad Thai was decent. Big portions. The waitress is a bit rude but she was the only one managing everyone so that is probably too exhausted.
Really good food and friendly wait staff!!
I LOVE THIS PLACE, the food is amazing and doesn't take too long to get. I would put a 5 star but the most recent time I went they drastically decreased they're portion size
Food is great, service is okay.
Best Thai food in the area
Very friendly and nice staff! The food was Thai Cuisine at its best. I highly recommend it if you’re in the mood for Thai food !!
Very good.
I went during a lunch rush. I expected it would take a while, but it was obvious they forgot to put in my order. About four other tables got their food before me. I was told repeatedly my food was on the way, but never received an apology until I was leaving. I am never returning here as the quality of the food doesn't make up for the hassle.
Spicy basil is their speciality.
Good food! Threat seemed a little undercooked for the entra I ordered
The mango sticky rice is the best around!
Delicious fresh rolls and hot green tea! Very kind staff and quick service.
Love this place!
Awesome food! The Pad See-Ew (stir-fried rice noodle w/egg, broccoli, black soy sauce) with your choice of chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, or seafood was soooooo good! Delicious; I'm eating the rest for dinner!
