This is a very good local Thai restaurant in Hendersonville NC. Michelle was our server and did a great job. The food came out fast and was delicious. They ask you how hot/spicy you want your dish. Rate the heat 1-5 with a 2 or 3 having the perfect zing. We had 8 in our group so they charge an automatic 20% gratuity for groups of 5 or larger so be aware. Overall an solid choice for Thai in the area.
My first time there. Really good food and service excellent. I sat at a table where every time the door opened i caught a very cold breeze and when cars pulled up their lights blinded me. Otherwise the setting was good.
Very nicely decorated and comfortable restaurant. We started with the Fresh Rolls. Added Siracha to the sweet chili dipping sauce. Ordered the Thai Spice Noodles which had a generous amount of shrimp and was topped with tempura spinach. Kudos for removing the tails! Needed more veggies, so we ordered a side of steamed veggies along with some brown rice (to soak up all of the delicious sauce). We will be back to try more of their delectable dishes!
Food good waitress friendly
Southern charm rice is out of this world.
They could have added a little bit more chicken to the stir fry, but the food was amazing. Will return. 10/10.

Never have a bad meal here. We go every time we're in town.
Great food, but last curry had like 5 or 6 pieces of chicken. This is not Chipotle folks
Delicious!!
This is one of our “go to often” restaurants. The service is excellent. The food always yummy and cooked to your chosen spice level. Highly recommend!
A little off the main and likely overlooked, but my personal favorite Thai in town. Service is exceptional and food is consistently great.
My wife and I have eaten here many times and have always enjoyed our food.
10/10 this place is amazing . My wife and I had lunch here . Both of us agreed the tom- ka gai soup was the best we’ve had . Restaurant was busy but the service was fast .
Great red curry. Amazing fried rice.
Generous portions. Friendly staff. Was visiting during the apple festival. They were very busy and the service was quick, the food was hot and fresh. We really enjoyed ourselves.
I have spent time in Asia. I love its people and their food, whether at an upscale restaurant or a street vendor.
The food at Thai Spice is so-so at best, especially since they are pricey. Moreover, the manager does not understand the concept of customer service. They had a young woman taking phone orders who barely understood English and spoke it even less. It took my sister---an English teacher and social worker---10 minutes to convey our order for three people. She was on speaker so I heard both sides of the conversation.
When we returned home, I noticed my dinner of fried rice was missing. I called to reorder and had another conversation that went like “Who’s on first, What’s on second. Finally, I asked for the manger, who gave me less than a minute because she was “busy.” I requested to have the dish for free, since I had to go back across town and miss eating with the others through no fault of my own.
When I arrived, they refused me any concession except for a second Thai Iced tea, which I did not want. I asked to speak to the owner and the manger said the girl answering the phone was the owner. A blatant lie. I have met the owner. I pointed out to the manager that she had put the young lady and me in a difficult position and left it at that.
So, how does this establishment get end up with 4 stars? Well, it isn’t much of a stretch to be best out of three Thai restaurants in the North Carolina outback. Put them in Asheville and they would hardly earn 2 stars. Put them in San Francisco and they wouldn’t last a month.
P.S. The girl answering the phone was the sweetest person you would ever want to meet and trying her best. I empathized with her and tried to make it clear that she was doing fine.
Food was so tasty! Service was great too, definitely recommend if you're looking for tasty Thai food.
Great Thai food, love the curry dishes. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Great place to bring family and friends
Thai Spice Hendersonville has delicious curry and fried rice!
Excellent food. Always a pleasure to go and have a great meal. Must go to place.
I have been going there since I was a little girl, this place has definitely went down hill. The table we were seated at was half way dirty the seats were not clean. The food came out super quickly which makes me wonder….. I had gotten a 2 in spice and was still really spicy, the food was overly hot in tempature “remind you I have eaten here since I was little and always ordered a 2 or 3 and I know how it is because I work in the restaurant business” it was very disappointing. The Thai tea was okay when you take a first sip of it and then the after taste is horrible. Wouldn’t recommend that….
The food was simply amazing! Very flavorful. Portion size was great too! If I lived there I would eat there often! Yummy!
Very good in all respects. Reliable, tasty lunch option.
I think it’s Chinese, there are some Thai dishes. The shrimp is grey, other dishes are indistinct, flavor-wise.
Always great!
Great vegetarian options, pretty good level of spice, easy to modify as needed, if you’re Indian get spice level 4 or 5. Some of the best pad Thai I’ve ever had, get it with crispy tofu. Basil fried rice with tofu and vegetables was heavenly.
Super delicious food and great atmosphere. We order Tom yum soup, basil fried rice, red chicken curry. All of them super tasty and quick service
Food was really delicious. I don't like spicy foods & they were happy to accommodate my needs. Servers were attentive & helpful. This was my first experience with Thai food, and they exceeded my expectations. We had a table of 13 for a birthday party and they served all of us at once! Highly recommend them.
Great food and very accommodating to gluten free, as well as great service.
My first time here. I ordered the Pad T.
I had better from a gas station in Asheville. There was no taste, none. I'll give another try and try the curry. Will let you know...
Food was not good here.
DO NOT TRY ITEMS:
Crispy Spinach
Thai basil fried rice🍚
One of the best Thai restaurants in NC.
This time just one waitress/host. Service wasn't as good as normal but the one waitress did a great job. I love this place.
Very nice authentic Thai food. It has the kind of food you should expect from a Thai restaurant. Very good presentations and taste. Prices are about just right. We spent about about ~30/pp including appetizer and fancy drinks.
The dining area is simple and lower end.
Had fresh rolls, Thai Iced tray, Tom Yum Soup, and Salmon with red curry sauce. Everything was delicious.
Nice atmosphere from parking to dining. Staff was attentive and delivered on a delicious meal. Great job to the staff at Thai Spice.
Great Thai food. Service can be a little slow if you're in a rush. Just let them know and they are almost too quick!
Great food, especially for vegetarians like me who love Thai food! The servers are friendly, delightful & very accommodating. Most dishes have a choice of proteins so there's something yummy for everyone. I usually order the Thai green curry because it's consistently delicious & perhaps the best I've ever had. My husband, a fish & fowl eater, has tried a number of their dishes & agrees that Thai Spice is a favorite place to dine in Hendersonville.
Got Penang Curry, Tom Yum Beef, pepper Beef. Everything presented as goulash. Nothing bright and fresh. Unfortunately, just terrible. Our experience. Nice dining atmosphere and wait staff lovely.
Best Thai food in the area, and the service is awesome.
We went after church with friends. It was very pleasant and the waitress was awesome! The man we were with kept asking our waitress to say "Southern" as in the southern charm fried rice. She always had the giggles.
I just picked up some Pad Thai, it was great! Nice people!
Delicious dinners... Ginger with Tofu, and Eggplant with Pork Loin, brown rice, and no green peppers! Michelle gave us fast and friendly service. Thanks!
Lovely place.
The only reason we got take out is because Boon Choo was closed on a Monday The sauce for 3 different entrees was very watered down and lacked flavor. We will not try again, we will wait on Boon Choo or not eat Thia at all.
Finally a nice Thai restaurant close to home. Tasted green curry and basil fried rice. Both tasted great!!!
Beautiful restaurant great food and lovely service! Highly recommend!
👍👍👍👍👍
Always delicious
We happened upon Thai Spice and wanted to give it a whirl. WOW! We were blown away by the friendly staff and absolutely DELICIOUS food. (Loved choosing my own spice level!) Definitely give this place a try. :)
Food was mediocre. That night our son woke up and vomited repeatedly, which has never ever happened to him before. Had a bad feeling about the place, but unfortunately settled for it anyways. Atmosphere was terrible, very few people in there.
Fantastic Pad Thai!! A+
Food was delicious and the service was wonderful. We had two toddlers with us and our server was extremely nice and helpful.
The food was awesome and they had a lot of gluten free choices. The service was excellent too!
SO DELICIOUS. We stopped here while giving a friend a ride back to Flat Rock and each of the three of us had curry--green curry, red curry, and Massaman curry. Spice level 3 out of 5 was just enough spice to be flavorful but not enough to make my nose run. I love that the rice came out in a little heart shape. Portions were generous, and I had enough left over for a small lunch the next day. I will be back when I'm in the area!
Best Thai we've had in a long time!
I love this Thai place. The crispy Pad Thai is my favorite. Beautiful atmosphere and large booths.
Hubby brought me carry out Ginger Rice Soup with Chicken. Excellent flavor profile of light broth with thin carrot strips, fresh ginger, cilantro and tender chicken. Delicious comfort food! I forgot this restaurant served soups. Will be back for this one & to try some others this winter!
Authentic tasty Thai food. Always fresh made and I love that they have actual Thai chili powder and they carry Chang beer.
The food is delicious. I was a bit skeptical of finding decent Thai food in this area, but it didn't disappoint. It was better than most I've found at home, and up with some of the best I've had in different places. I was surprised, and glad that I was. Everything was well prepared, tasted fresh and like good quality ingredients compared to other similar places. Service was friendly, attentive and consistent. I wish I could have brought this place back home. Pricing was fair overall. I'd return when visiting again.
Loved every but was very exspensive
Don't expect to get what you ordered. I ordered online using the check boxes they offered no special instructions - pad Thai no egg and the sweet and sour vegetable stir fry with tofu. When I picked up the to go order I noticed there was egg in the pad Thai so I waited while they redid it. When I got home I noticed there was no tofu in the stir fry even though my online order and confirmation email noted tofu included. I called to explain the issue and tasked if they would give me a refund and they said no since the tofu didnt cost any extra. So if you're happy with a surprise order go for it. The food was fine (not great) but would have been better with tofu.
Best Thai food in the Asheville area. Their curries are thick and spicy and just the way we like them. Also recommend the tom ka soup.
We were a group of 25+ folks… they did a very good job serving us… specifically liked the server who attended us wearing pink frame glasses.. she was so patient and helpful. I would recommend this place
Consistent Great Experience...
A Hendersonville MUST!
The Panang curry, Yes.
Great tasting dishes with a wide variety of styles and good prices. Will become a regular.
Love this restaurant. Tom ka gai soup is excellent. Remember Thai hot is HOT. Appetizers are very good. Egg rolls are fried, but not greasy. Food is tasty. Decor is tired but comfortable. Don't sit near door.
We were meeting friends who are coming in from out of town. We considered where to meet up. Because of the parking situation in town we decided on Thai Spice because they both have great food and their own parking lot. The food was delicious. The staff was gracious to let us wait for our guest to arrive while my wife and I sat in their booth. It was a wonderful evening it was delicious food. The best I've had there for a while. And we've been going for 8 years now. Highly recommended.
As always the food was superb and even though they were a bit short staffed and busy, the service was good. Our server was so nice and checked in often to make sure everything was OK. I had the barramundi- delicious, friends had crispy duck and chicken panang curry and used the word scrumptious! Highly recommend Thai Spice.
Our server was nice enough and food came out quickly. Our table, however, was very sticky. Tired decor. My fried rice had one piece of onion, 4 tiny pieces of chicken and absolutely no flavor. My husband's pad thai was a bit better, but not worth ever going back.
Very fast! Amazing tom kha soup. Did forget my tofu tho but it was alright 👍
Food really good and prices are excellent. Would visit again
Probably the best Thai option in Henderson County, NC
Has on-site parking.
Have not been here since before covid. Price went up food is good.
Excellent food (ginger pepper and green curry) and great service: we'll be back!
The food was so delicious!! One of the best Thai we have had, we recommend 😋
Best Thai food I had in this town! I’m a picky eater ….. they just really know how to cook ! Absolutely clean tables , bathrooms , fast service as well , super friendly staff! Michelle is the best !!!!! Definitely come and enjoy healthy fresh food!
Great food and service! Best crispy roll ever
New owners and chef so authentic. The food is terrific. Great for large groups! Love the takeout too.
Great place! Nice employees! Shout out to Brody!
Good quality Thai cooking. Soup portions are huge and can be shared. Menu items are marked vegetarian and gluten free. Everything came out at once and was steaming hot. Now open 7 days/week. Only negative is that the bathroom is very dark and not always clean.
I’m not sure how this place has the ratings it does. This was my first time eating here, the noodle dishes were very bland…no flavor. Not to mention when we picked our food up their sanitation score was like 86.
Good place but no pho ..but they tried.
All 3 of our meals was excellent.
Favorite Thai restaurant in hendersonville! From the friendly, warm staff to the delicious Thai food, you can't beat its consistency. I highly recommend the Tom Yum, Pad Thai, and Crispy rolls. I eat here at least once a week, it's that good!
Always delicious food and friendly staff.
I have overlooked this place in Hendersonville until now. I love Thai food and have always gone to Asheville for it. Not anymore. The food here is wonderful and full of flavor. Thai Spice is my new favorite spot.
This was our first visit to Thai Spice, but not our last. The building is quite large and is very clean.
The food was good. I've had better Thai dinners, but I thought our food was good enough to want to come back.
The service was excellent. Our server was very friendly and quick with every request.
I had the crispy roll appetizer. The inside was tasty, but it should have been fried a bit longer to get a more crunch and darker color. For my entree I had chicken fried rice and upgraded to brown rice. No complaints. It was tasty and the portion was generous. I order level 2 heat (out of 5), and that was perfect for me.
Ethnic food is not one of Hendersonville's strong points, so Thai Spice stands out for being a solid ethnic restaurant.
Delicious curry dishes.
Always delicious.
I haven't visited Thai Spice for a while, but had a desire to return. We had friends join us and were very pleased with the food, service and atmosphere. The food was ample, tasty and presented well. The prices were reasonable and the menu has many good choices. We will return more frequently, and try other menu choices to establish more favorite items. I was able to choose the level of spiciness which will allow patrons to tailor spice to their taste
My family and I loved this place!
The waitstaff was lovely and very accommodating to our group of 10.
Food was fantastic and a good value. Very slow on food orders but other then that was happy with flavor and taste
Excellent food with Great service. Definitely will be back and will recommend this wonderful restaurant to my friends and family.
We eat at Thai restaurants all over the south east and this was very disappointing. My daughters both got the Thai noodle soup and it was completely flavorless. They were very disappointed. The veggies were nearly raw, and there was a lot of oil in the soup and not oil from rendered fat from broth but like oil, oil. So now we have gigantic container of soup that my kids hate. The Thai tea was very good and the chicken fried rice was okay.
I’ve been a patron of this business for years and always enjoyed the food.
A month ago, I ordered take out. The meal was missing normal items. I gave them a FYI call. Cody told me “we don’t add extras to pick up orders”. I was snarky and asked if they also charge less for pick up orders. He put Michelle on the phone. She asked what was missing, She said those items are garnish and not part of the meal.
I called a few times since but got a message saying they were not accepting calls from my number. I called from my office phone last night for a pickup order. I was in the restaurant picking up when I realized she blocked my number. I pulled out my cell and called their number and yep, wouldn’t go through. I slid the normal $20 tip back in my purse and put $3 on the card for Cody.
If you have a problem with an order, expect the equivalent of an adolescent brat’s Facebook un-friending or block if you speak up.
Their Green curry and Pad Thai was amazing. But the mango sticky rice was perfect!
Great options for gf vegans 💗🙏🏻👏🏻
Clean restaurant, prompt, friendly service and a delicious meal. I will return. Happy I made a reservation as it did get a bit busy, though it was a Saturday evening.
We got a takeout from this place and loved it, both - the green curry and pad kee mow were delicious. An additional benefit is the availability of ample parking space right outside the restaurant as against the dine-in places on main street.
Michelle is the best. The food is amazing.
I really enjoyed my first time at this restaurant. The service was great and the food was delicious.
Outstanding, fresh food!! Highly recommend. Visiting from out of town and this place was perfect for us. We sat outside where it was very pleasant. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The food arrived in a timely manner and was hot and fresh. The chef's sauces were outstanding!! Some of the best Thai food I've ever eaten.
Wonderful food! And we had donuts on National Donut Day!
Great Thai food restaurant in Hendersonville. Large selection of entrees. Tables and booths. Friendly and helpful staff. Large portions using quality ingredients. Cozy fireplace. Not my favorite flavor of red curry, but still worth returning for. Pleased to have such a good Thai restaurant in this city.
Update: Chicken curry lunch now $12 and no longer includes a salad.
Never had Thai food that was way too sweet. Could not eat it it was so sweet!
This is a very good local Thai restaurant in Hendersonville NC. Michelle was our server and did a great job. The food came out fast and was delicious. They ask you how hot/spicy you want your dish. There was a nice atmosphere upon arrival, though not as busy as I'd expect for Mother's Day. As in, very little inside traffic. We were greeted and sat appropriatly, but left to our own devices as far as getting seating for our small children. I had to get my own booster seats, which were unexpectedly VERY sticky. VERY. We just endured and pushed on.
When able to order, our server only took half the drink order before disappearing. We finally got the drinks and she came back after making us wait for a LOT of to-go orders to be seen before she could even visit the table. We commented on how "we should have ordered it to go" and our waitress, Michelle, said that it would have been an hour wait. The ironic thing is that we had reserved our table an hour ahead, AND had already been there an hour and STILL not eaten!!! ... So yeah, take-out would have yielded better results. 🤔
So now we were ready to order. Do so. All food was ordered at the SAME TIME, and yet..... it arrived in a haphazard manner. After JUST the kids meals were delivered, suddenly an AWESOME hot skillet of food that was my husband's order came.
A beautiful display was made of the sauce being poured over the sizzling steak, producing lots of steam. It. Looked. Delicious. But then instead of serving this wonderful dish, a tray stand was left near the table. As if the food was imminent!
But it sat there.
It was salivated over, for more than 10 minutes to make us "think" our food was coming.
It finally did come. For everyone else. But my simple soup was still not ready. Somehow. On Mother's Day.
But the "mom", on Mother's Day, is now reliving every day of her life where she is still served last. At least 10 minutes after everyone else at the table.
Then!!! They were "over the moon" when my small children returned the kids booster seats to where they belonged. And I took the compliment, but simultaneously wondered why not ONE of them stepped up the help my 5 and 3 year olds at ALL! A compliment is not a substitute for actual help in a position where they should not be doing this!!
Well.... I guess AT LEAST it truly felt like I was being treated like a mother. 🤷🏼♀️
Third unsuccessful time just trying to place an order. I went in and stood at the counter for 15 min without my existence even being acknowledged. A group of four came in and were promptly seated. Another man was in front of me, he had ordered online and already paid, he's probably still there. I guess they figured if they just ignored me I'd leave, which is what happened.
Went back again, after warning my wife, but it's mother's day, she gets to choose and maybe after this COVID nonsense is over they'll have better service. Nope. It took them a full hour to make our food. Brought it out one dish at a time. My kids were done eating before my wife got her food. Server then just abandoned us. I literally had to go back into the kitchen to ask for to go boxes and the bill. Not like I had my wallet and card sitting on the side of the table for like 10 minutes or anything. The kids at this point were screaming and running around but I felt they had kept it together for a more than reasonable time. Sure make a scene kids, maybe that will at least attract the servers attention. Nope. I seriously considered just leaving without paying and probably could have gotten away with it.
It is the best I've had! Ever
Drinks outrageous in price
Wow. Came here on vacation and it was amazing food. Massaman curry with eggplant.
Always a pleasure to go to Thai Spice. The food is outstanding!
This is one of the best Thai restaurants in Western NC. I have been coming here when I get a chance for many years. I have always eaten here and had wonderful food and great service. I came in for lunch today with my husband. The service was friendly and fast, but the food wasn't as good as it had been in the past. Portion size seemed smaller and there was barely any meat in my meal. The flavor was fantastic as always, I was just disappointed at what I think is a cost-cutting action. I really hope this place isn't going down hill. I hope it was just a bad day for the kitchen.
Love the food and the service been going here for years
The Pad Thai was delicious and the crab wontons were very balanced and lightly crispy. Would definitely come again!
This is my favorite Thai restaurant AND my favorite restaurant in the Hendersonville area. I'm always happy with the food and service. Even when they are busy the service is still great.
Always one of my favorite restaurants to visit when I’m in Hendersonville!! Amazing Thai food!
The adults & kids loved it!!
We were with a large group today. Our server was Michelle, and she was very good - both knowledgeable and polite. All of us liked her and the food. It was my first time, but it won’t be my last.
We've been dining at Thai Spice off and on for the past 1.5 years and have never been disappointed either with the quality of service or the food. We usually order the pad thai with tofu and it is some of the best pad thai I've ever had. Lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options. Our kids ask to come here often!
Loved everything we've had so far!
Service is great too!
My favorite restaurant. Authentic Thai cuisine. Extremely good food and friendly staff! Cannot recommend enough! I drive 50 min one way just to go here. Love it!
This is a wonderful Thai restaurant. The menu is varied. The food is superb and so is the service.
Always a sure bet.
Every time I go to Anderson, I stop by for pad Thai takeout. Best Thai in the area!
Top notch restaurant. Excellent service and excellent Thai food. Will return!
