Food was great. It's a little small so you might miss the restaurant, but boy was the food really good. Friendly atmosphere.

Diner Review №2

Food was excellent. The lady who took my order was helpful and explained certain menu items to me. I decided on the Khao Man Gai. The dish was simple but the flavors were complex. I look forward to eating here again when I return to Greensboro.

Diner Review №3

I’m not sure if any of the previous posters really know what Thai food is supposed to taste like, but this isn’t it. We started with the fresh spring rolls. They had no flavor at all and came with the wrong sauce. We had the pad tai with chicken and the pork bowl. Both were mediocre. The pork bowl, to my surprise was made with pork belly. I’m a fan of pork belly, but this is a heads up to those who don’t. We had to wear our coats throughout the meal because it was very cold in the restaurant. The lady who took our order was very sweet, but she was also the cook, waitress and buss person. The pad tai was served on a paper plate and the pork bowl in a plastic bowl. To say it was disappointing given the previous reviews was an understatement. If you want good Thai food I highly recommend Pho Hien Vuong, Thai Corner Kitchen, or Kin Thai.

Diner Review №4

This is the best Lao/thai food we have food since moving to GSO.

Diner Review №5

My Laab was cold and very little portion for $15.99 and my spring roll didn’t have any meat expect a little shrimp. I was wondering why none was in the restaurant during lunch time.

Diner Review №6

Ordered…

- three #1 combos: skewers with sticky rice, but they were out of sticky rice…the skewers are always good, though one time they were over-cooked a bit.

- chix pad thai: too small of a portion for the price and virtually no chix, only a small handful of bits-n-pieces

- one #4 combo: garlic ribs seemed to be a bit smaller portion…and no sticky rice with this one either

When it’s good, it’s good…but definitely feel slighted when it’s not!

Diner Review №7

This is a truly great and authentic restaurant that delivers on both flavor and quality. I ordered the pork skewers, and they were absolutely delicious—crispy, savory, crunchy, and juicy all at once. My wife couldn’t agree more. It’s rare to find something so perfectly balanced in texture and taste. They simply don’t get much better than this.

I also tried the chicken curry, which was a standout dish. They serve a whole thigh and leg over rice, generously topped with an incredible curry sauce. The flavors immediately took me back to my parents’ time living in Singapore, where they would often make a similar curry dish. You can really taste the layers of flavor—the curry, the cinnamon, and an overall richness that’s hard to describe but unforgettable.

Fair warning: the curry does pack some heat! I loved the spice level, but if you’re not into spicy food, it might be worth asking if they can adjust it for you. All in all, this place is a gem, and I’ll definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic, bold flavors.

We were driving around looking for a good place to grab some good food. This was beyond good it was "great!"

Diner Review №11

This is my favorite place to go for a quick bite, the food is always amazing, and fresh. The drive through is very convenient especially if you call ahead and place your order. I feel like I get a good amount of food for a nice price. Their mango sticky rice is a highlight of my year.

Diner Review №12

Definitely a weird vibe in there. The lady was nice but just felt off. My plate of food was 19$ and it was barely anything. And on top of that there was almost zero protein on there. They were out of my first choice of food.

Diner Review №13

The food is always so good and the people there are so nice - it should be way busier!!

Diner Review №14

We got the Thai tea with boba, boa bun, crab Rangoon, and combo #3 sausage and rice.

$6 Thai tea - the boba was not cooked. It was disgusting. (The employee didn’t know it needed to be cooked) They did remake it for us and the boba was okay after that. However, the tea was weakly brewed / heavily milked and contained no sweetened condensed milk. It was the saddest Thai tea I’ve had.

$7 Crab Rangoon- pretty good

$7 Boa bun- chewy, very very chewy. Overall it had little taste and was very small

$10 Combo #3 - sauce we very spicy, sausage was okay and had a decent spice, rice was dense and chewy but overall good. We were a little sad we had to unwrap it ourselves even though we were the only patrons.

Oh, the AC was also dripping onto our table.

Everything seemed premade hours ago and tossed together. We left still hungry; we won’t be back.

Diner Review №15

didn’t have our first or second food options, originally they forgot my sticky rice in the bag and when i asked for it i received a block of rice in saran wrap placed on the table, no plate or container….oh and there was a hair in my spring rolls😀 just overpriced and not worth it. a disappointing experience in general

Diner Review №16

This restaurant has the best of everything and is always fresh. Prices are fair and serving sizes are generous!

Diner Review №17

great authentic Thai experience

Diner Review №18

Diner Review №19

Papaya salad is gross.. just spicy, no sourness or sweetness to it whatsoever.

Diner Review №20

Diner Review №21

Highly recommend

Diner Review №22

Food was mediocre and the portion was extra small. Do not recommend please go elsewhere

Diner Review №24

As you can see from my name, I am 100% Laotian. Looking for a lunch spot, I was surprised to see a Laotian restaurant. And after looking at the menu, it look authentic enough for me to try. I was not disappointed at all. I was highly satisfied!

“Sapp” in Lao means “delicious”, so “So-Sapp!” lives up to its name! I had their #2 combination plate with house wings and it was probably one of the best if not the best wings I had in my life. I also highly recommend their honeydew slushee (boba tea).

I will be coming back whenever I can. I suggest and recommend that others do too!

We drive a hour and 15 mins to get here, food always hot and fresh. Today we actually sat in the kids enjoyed the corn dogs and my husband and I always get the spicy rice and the fried garlic ribs. The staff is friendly.

Diner Review №28

My friends were in town visiting and had on their list to stop by! We made a stop for a quick snack in the middle of the day. We had no expectations and didn't even know what to order but there was plenty on the menu to choose from. We did ask some questions as we weren't familiar with Laotian cuisine. The staff was nice and helped us decide what and how much to order so that we could get a taste for the cuisine. The overall atmosphere is no frills but leaning toward casual and welcoming. The presentation or the serving dishes (although disposal) could be elevated and what's displayed on the TVs could cater a little more to the customers as well. The food was pretty good though, especially the sausage!

Diner Review №29

So-sapp is hands down one of the most underrated restaurants in GSO. Everything on their menu is delicious, their skewers, garlic ribs, pork bowls, different apps, sauces, it’s all immensely flavorful and at a great price. I highly recommend eating here!!

Diner Review №30

Never review places, but I’m impressed. Ordered fresh spring rolls, papaya salad, chicken larb, and short ribs… Everything thing exceeded my expectations of what I was craving and was so fresh.

Diner Review №31

Absolutely delicious! Quick service, clean restaurant. The outside of the building and parking lot looks run down, but the inside is nice! The combo #1 skewers were soooo good.

Diner Review №32

Best and most underrated Thai food in Greensboro hands down. I've been coming since their opening in December and can't get enough of their lao food! Their food takes me back to being in Bangkok again; great prices, authentic spice, and the staff is always friendly! Never had a bad experience here.

Diner Review №33

Amazing food

Diner Review №34

Family owned with amazing fresh food. Clean environment and even better service. My go to Laos restaurant

Diner Review №36

Diner Review №37

Absolutely delicious! I couldn’t recommend more

Diner Review №38

Great Lao food! Had their pad thai, fried rice, cheese dog, curry noodles, and fresh spring rolls. Great flavor on everything and the lady at the front is super nice! Got the pork skewers this time and they were amazing

Diner Review №39

Best kept secret on Gate City! I get the #1 pork skewer combo, fried spring rolls, and a coconut/taro slush. The food does not disappoint and the service is always fast and friendly.

Diner Review №40

Stopped here after Round1 for a quick bite and I'm super happy that I did! The food was fast, tasty, and authentic. I appreciated the taste of home and, most importantly, it's well-priced!

Diner Review №41

Everything I've ordered here has always been amazing. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. I love this spot!! The mini garlic ribs are AMAAAZING

Diner Review №42

Really enjoyed the food esp the papaya salad! Also a must try is thr fresh lemonade 👌

Diner Review №43

Food was good. Meat tender and perfect. There sauce is hot so be prepared for that, but overall tasty.

Diner Review №44

Food was Not very edible. server was NOT attentive. the customer service when my group entered was good. None of us would ever return here to eat

Diner Review №45

Small, fast food to go style Lao food. The sausage was different from the normal flavors I'm used to, maybe fewer herbs. The chicken wings were big and juicy. I would've preferred a little bit more sticky rice with the combo, though. The papaya salad was juicy as well but tasted okay. It was missing something.

Diner Review №46

Really enjoyed my first time here but my second visit was pretty disappointing. We got 2 of the combos and having worked in the restaurant business myself I could tell the oil needed to be changed. Our skewers and ribs came out super dark and on the dry side. We ordered pad Thai to go and I was sad to find the tofu came out the same way.

Diner Review №47

3rd time eating here. The garlic short ribs have been consistently overcooked/over-fried, so will not be getting them anymore. Some of the meat tasted burnt. Only really enjoyed the papaya and larb.

Diner Review №48

Oh first of all this place gave me food poisoning and I was throwing up all day. Also a Puerto Rican opening an Asian fusion restaurant??? Seems like culture appropriation to me. Such a shame. Go to a real Asian restaurant

Diner Review №49

The cook is from Seattle. Seems like cultural appropriation.

Diner Review №50

Diner Review №51

Food was not good and the owners seemed very rude and off-putting. I would not recommend going to this place to eat.

Diner Review №52

I ordered the chicken wings extra crispy and this is what they came out looking for a little burnt for my taste. They're also very tiny I paid $17 for 10 chicken wings which I think is a little or a lot overpriced they were very tiny. As far as the way they taste it they also weren't that good they were pretty burnt....

Diner Review №53

Diner Review №54

Excellent fresh food. Very pleasant staff in drive thru

Diner Review №55

Amazing food.

Diner Review №56

Be careful, the food is pretty spicy! They have a good selection of dishes.

Diner Review №57

Diner Review №58

Very friendly and super yummy!! Pork skewer combo is what was recommended so I got it! Crispy! 🤤🤤🤤

Diner Review №59

Nice, open, clean space.
I've never been here before and I only got the pork skewers.
But, let me tell you.
They are TASTY!!!
I'll definitely come back when I'm in the mood for more than just a snack.

Diner Review №63

Delicious food!

Diner Review №64

This place is fantastic! The staff is so friendly and inviting. The food is amazing! The Chicken Pad Thai was so flavorful. The pork skewers and spring rolls are sooo good and just the right serving size. I had Thai Tea for the first time and it was perfection. I would definitely recommend this place 👍🏼

Diner Review №65

Delicious pad Thai and pork skewers. Looking forward to returning and trying the rest of the menu. Grateful they were open till 10 on a Saturday as most Thai places in Greensboro seem to close at 9

Diner Review №66

A little shop with amazingly authentic food. All the dishes were on point. If you crave spicy and lao food, this is it. Highly recommend the thai pork skewers. And, if you want heat, try the papaya salad top spicy.

Diner Review №67

The service was great everyone was super friendly and the atmosphere was overall very welcoming and pleasant. The portion sizes are a bit small for my liking but everything we tried was very delicious. Although the prices were high in comparison to the amount of food you get we will be coming back for how delicious everything was and how friendly/ helpful the staff was! Highly recommend the pork skewers and garlic short ribs!

Diner Review №68

The food has ALWAYS been good. I've eaten here more times than I'd like to admit because I crave their food a lot. Although it's simple, it's the food I grew up eating. Their pork skewers are really good. Great flavor and if you happen to get a piece that has fat in it, it's an extra burst of flavor. I've tried just about everything on their menu.

Give this place a try, it's a small place, family owned, but they are great. Food is just good, and that's what you expect.

Diner Review №69

Very nice owner & good food. They have a drive thru window for pick up orders (bonus from previous owner)

Diner Review №70

Happy customer 😋

Diner Review №71

I'm so glad that I made the decision to try this place out today, the place I've marked out on my map for a good long time.

I went in during a slow time so the owner had time to chat with me. She was super patient introducing the dishes: the flavor, the ingredients, the differences, etc. i could tell that she's so proud of the food and I learned something that I had always been curious about.

I ordered my favorite dish, Pad Thai. It's not Lao, but I had seen the picture online, the color was just right. I asked the owner what sauce goes into the pad Thai, she told me it was tamarind sauce that they used. I know then that was the taste I wanted. I ordered mild hot, which gives a little kick to the taste. Squeeze the lime on top gave the dish another layer. It is just right

I also ordered a single house wing skewer. This is where the flexibility comes in because I do not see where in the menu that they sell the skewer separately. I really wanted it, I asked for it, and they were okay with it. The smell broke into my nose as I opened the Togo box. Man! It smells so good! Smoky, tangy, an undertone sweetness, and the meat is juicy.

I've been eyeing the honey fruit tea from the online pictures. It came out to me while waiting for the food, I could taste the tea inside, the owner told me it was oolong tea and they used raw honey, yum! There's coconut jelly, kiwi fruit, strawberry, and chia seed.

I asked for some jeow bong, which is the sauce goes with combo. It's pretty spicy to me with a subtle sweetness.

The seating area is pretty spacious, and it's pretty ins minimalist factory style. It was a great encounter that I had today. I already told my friend to go back to dine in some time later.

Diner Review №72

Really good food and friendly staff. I got papaya salad, garlic fired baby ribs, laos sausage and mango sticky rice. All the food was amazing, especially the baby ribs. I gave them 4 stars because there were some mosquitoes flying around and bit me and my husband lol. But other than that, everything else was exceptional.

Diner Review №73

We were so excited to start eating I didn’t get a full before photo. Great service!! Very clean & inviting atmosphere. Great comfort food and Thai tea.

Diner Review №74

I love this place. Great food a place of peace of mind. Great smile's and music. So authentic. Must try!!!!!

Diner Review №75

I have eaten here regularly since they opened and have never been disappointed. The food is always delicious and the staff is always super friendly and patient when I have any questions!

Diner Review №76

Papaya salad and Pad Thai are so good. We will definitely come back for more!

Diner Review №77

Amazing authentic Lao food! Great customer service as well. Can’t recommend enough!

Diner Review №78

We had the pork skewers and garlic pork ribs. Delicious! The spicy sauce was excellent with the sticky rice. Quick and friendly service to top it off.

Diner Review №79

My first time having lao food was here and now we can't get enough. So good and spicy! My favorite here is the lao sausage with sticky rice and jeow bong.

Diner Review №80

First time here. They've made a really cute place with good food. I got the spring rolls that had 3 or 4 shrimp each and were reasonably priced. For an entree I got #1 which is 2 pork skewers and sticky rice. The pork was outstanding. The rice was good too, I just didn't particularly want rice and should have asked if I could have subbed. My son liked it too and got the #1. Try it out!

Diner Review №81

Great authentic Lao food. The owners are sweet and the staff is very friendly. I love everything I've ordered so far and look forward to them expanding their menu!

Diner Review №82

Great staff and wonderful food!

Diner Review №83

Good Lao food, tastes like what you can get from a good food vendor at the Lao temples. You always see Lao people eating here the whole time during our dining time here. This means the food is authentic and tasty. Friendly staff, bot bougie like other Lao food places.

Diner Review №84

Totally agree with other views, other Asian restaurants can get more valued food than this one. Plus it is like self-serve type. All silverware are very cheap-look. Way overvalued!!!!

Diner Review №85

Great food, great atmosphere, and great staff! Will definitely be coming back.

Diner Review №86

I can think of a dozen other places I can spend 17 bucks at and get way better Asian food totally not impressed with. Pork sicks were fried to death. And papaya salad had like 3 ingredients shredded papaya, and some sauce and a couple of tomatoes. Best thing about this place is services, fast and friendly staff.

Diner Review №87

The older woman was rude, imho. Laab overcooked and dry and not served with rice!

Diner Review №88

I love the food 😋 I got Crab Rangoon that reminded me of gold nuggets. Matcha slush was such a good consistency 👏 & I love the chicken so flavorful by itself & along with the jeow sauce. I'll be back !

Diner Review №89

Diner Review №91

Great Thai/ Laotian Street food. Love their fried chicken wing, pork skewer, and fried pork spare ribs. Their homemade spicy paste got a serious kick but went well with the food.
The parking is a one-way street, so you need to turn to the road next to the restaurant and enter from there.

Diner Review №92

My first experience at a Laotian restaurant and I was extremely impressed. I recommend their #4 ribs but their #1 pork meal is also fine. I got their lime drink and got a second one to take with me at the end of the meal.

Diner Review №93

Really enjoyable experience, the rice was good, and the aesthethic was enjoyabke

Diner Review №94

Diner Review №95

Best authentic Lao and Thai food in the GSO area! Friendly staff members and great environment to chill with friends/family. HIGHLY recommend the Garlic Fried Baby Ribs with Sticky Rice— SCRUMPTIOUS. It’s so crispy outside and juicy inside— bursting with flavors!! The Papaya Salad and Corn Dog is a favorite too 😮‍💨

If you want food that feels like yo momma cooked— THIS is where it’s at!!

Diner Review №96

Great food, enjoyed thoroughly.

Diner Review №97

Great spot to get traditional Lao dishes. The spicy papaya salad was very flavorful.

Diner Review №98

The staff were so kind and attentive. The food was quite delicious and the pepper dipping sauce for the Lao sausage and ribs were out of this world.

Diner Review №99

Delicious! We lived in the northeast of Thailand for a year and a half and the food here took us right back. We had the pork skewers combo, Lao sausage combo, and Thai omelette. All three were spot on. Happy we found this place passing through.

Diner Review №100

Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, quality prices!
Atmosphere was rather welcoming, and seeing everyone be so excited for their opening! Definitely a fantastic replacement for this location! The food kept smelling intoxicating as we waited for our order!

We had the opportunity to try the Pork Bao Buns, Corn dogs, and the sticky rice. The Bao Buns were unbelievably delicious! The bun was extremely soft, and the pork was super tender and flavorful! The carrots and cilantro were well seasoned, and a perfect addition. The corn dogs were excellently done! Fried with expertise, dressed to perfection, and sauced to extravagance! I got the mayo and siracha on top, my friend the normal sugar topping. Let me tell you these were AWESOME! Cheese pull was intense, flavor was bountiful, and the hotdog half was juicy and a perfect way to finish it off! The sticky rice was quite delicious, especially intermittently with our other foods! Absolutely get here!

If you’re craving Laotian/Thai street food this is the place to be! They also have a good variety of milk tea if you’re into that. Staff is super friendly and won’t hesitate to ask if you need anything or list a few recommendations. Shout outs to the family!
