Casual restaurant serving homestyle Thai dishes, including curries, noodles & vegan options.
I don’t find too many good Asian spots in the triangle, but Twisted Noodle was really really good! I got the Pineapple Fried Rice it was so delicious. I really liked all the flavors together. The pineapple gave it a nice sweet taste and adding the cashews made it extra delicious. My boyfriend got the yellow curry noodles. He chose to get it spicy. I thought it was really delicious, I thought it was too spicy for my taste, but he loved it. As an appetizer we got Summer Rolls. They were really tasty and had the perfect crunch. They were able to seat us immediately and our food came out quickly, which was really nice because we had our 11 month old with us. The staff was really helpful and really quick. Our daughter loved the fish tank. If we are back in this area, we will definitely be back.
Loved loved loved the food! I had the pineapple fried rice, it was so nice! Tasty and sweet pineapple chunks, incredibly delicious curry flavor, definitely a very scrumptious dish.
My partner had the seafood soup, not too flavorful but fresh ingredients were used in this meal.
Definitely the best Thai restaurant I have ever eaten at. Unfortunately we dont live in the area and were just visiting, but this gives us a reason to come back (yes we love food that much!) So good we went twice in our short 3 day vacation. Even my kids loved it! My husband has been looking for a place that has curry good enough to compare to his favorite place since we moved and has been disappointed. This instantly turned into his new favorite!
OMG! This is the best Thai food I've had in a long time. I love Thai and had a taste for dinner. Decided to check out this place after reading the reviews, and I'm so glad I did!
The green curry was absolutely delicious! I dare say it's the best green curry I've ever had. My go to is usually panang or red curry, but this looked really good, and the taste was even better. The curry had the perfect level of heat, with a lovely acid balance the fragrant taste of keffir lime. The Thai basil was fresh and the veggies cooked perfectly with just the right amount of crisp. The chicken was nice and tender, and I'm eager to try the calamari in the curry next time. My daughter got a peanut chicken with broccoli that was really good. The peanut sauce was delicious. We also enjoyed the dumplings which were lightly fried and had a wonderful flavor. I usually get them steamed, but these were outstanding.
The great ending to the meal was the mango sticky rice, which was prepared perfectly. I could not ask more of a great meal.
The service was great and the waiter was very accomodating. The restaurant was quaint and cozy with a beautiful fish tank against the wall. The staff was playing some old school R&B, which put a smile on my face.
I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back! I look forward to trying other dishes, but it's hard to get the green curry off my mind.
We had a fabulous meal here, I won’t say how many of us because we ordered a lot. We ordered the spicy basil pork medium spicy. The sauce was savory and there was a generous amount of pork and veggies. The Pad Thai with shrimp was cooked great, no rubbery shrimp. Finally Pad See Eww with pork. My cousin only shared a bite, I don’t blame her. We wiped out everything. The service is fantastic and the woman who waited on us was patient and nice. Will definitely come again.
The service was good. Food was tasty
Best Thia fried rice that I ever had, and I have been to a lot of Thai resteraunts in the triangle. Always tastes great. Only problem that I have is sometimes there are fly problems in the summer. But the food is worth it.
It was a wonderful experience, delicious food, excellent taste and excellent customer service... 100% recommended 🥰👌
not worth the $70 at all

Best Thai food I have ever had!! The crab rangoons are nothing like I ever had and the yellow curry so so good. Service was good. This is going to be one of my go to's.
Love this place. I have celiac and it's one of the only places where I can eat. The staff are great and the food is delicious.

Best gluten free spot for Thai in Durham:)
Thanks for the free water while I waited to get a Doordash delivery!!
The food and the service was excellent! I highly recommend the drunken noodles, some of the best i’ve ever had!

Great food, extensive menu, highly recommended.
Great food. If you like thai definitely recommend.
Best Thai food that we've been able to find around Chapel Hill.
Delicious
Fantastic lunch special.
Excellent Thai. Green Curry done right.

Wonderful food and everything was amazing
Good food and friendly service!
Love their curries!
The food here is amazing. A must visit for noodles lover in the town.
First visit. Hidden gem. Customer service top notch.
For a restaurant that was described as “concerningly Asian” by the couple next to me, this was a lovely experience. I found the level of Asian-ness to be perfectly acceptable for Durham, NC - and in fact it was pretty standard as far as Thai restaurants go.
The entire front of house was run by one man. I do not know his name, but he is my personal hero. He was seating tables, taking orders, running food, refilling drinks, and processing checks with more efficiency than a coordinated strike team. Now I hear what you’re thinking: “Hey Adrian, Coordinated Strike Teams don’t run restaurants.” And to that I say: Shut up. Overall, service gets five stars.
The food was subtle but flavorful. I got the Thai Basil Fried Rice because my white posterior cannot handle much spicier than BBQ Sauce. It was not only incredibly flavorful and texture rich, but also satisfying. It was a perfect lunch portion. I’m a Big Boy so I tend to eat a bit more than most folks, so expect to get a to-go box. Five stars for food quality, portion, and flavor.
The atmosphere was as expected. Picture any given asian restaurant in a strip mall. Now make it 5% cleaner. Perfect. You’ve just imagined the atmosphere of Twisted Noodles. I imagine the couple next to me was venturing outside their McDonald’s comfort zone to describe it the way they did. Four stars for atmosphere. It’s pleasant and inoffensive.
Overall it’s a great lunch spot. I’ll definitely be back. And if you go, tip your server. He’s deep in the trenches from clock in to clock out, and it’s partially your fault. Five stars.
My first time going and it was great flavors in noodles, hot tea, rice so soft.
This restaurant is soo delicious! I love their Thai fried rice with tofu and all of their soups are just lovely. I really enjoyed the flavor and portion size of the meal that I got for takeout for dinner. It was filling and flavorful without being too heavy on the stomach. The service is excellent also, all of the staff are so friendly. I loved it here!
Service was a little slow but still friendly. The dressing on the laab wasn't my favorite, but it was still good, although I would have liked more cucumbers and fewer big chunks of iceberg.
Food was excellent and well prepared service was good
Some of the best Thai chicken Basil fried rice I’ve ever had. Great deal for lunch too. Comes with spring roll and salad for $10. Lovely and friendly staff.
Pad Thai is the worst I've ever had. Mushy noodles and no vegies that you can actually see.
Delicious!!!!!
Sanitation grade is 85. It’s hidden behind a plant. The chicken wings were crispy and tasteless. Red curry was good.
Delicious Thai food that is better than some of the popular downtown Thai restaurants, in my opinion! It hasn't been very busy when I've been, so the food was very fast. So many vegan friendly options! I have had the tom kha noodle soup, drunken noodles with tofu (made vegan - no egg), and the massaman curry with vegetables. Would recommend them all!
Ordered tofu pad Thai and tom yum soup. Soup was good, although it was on the sweet side. Pad Thai was super disappointing. There were maybe about 3 pieces of tofu in my dish, the noodles were pretty dry and lacked flavor. It was very bland. Thai food is supposed to be spicy and packed full of flavors. If you have had authentic Thai then this place will likely not satisfy!
Took daughter ans she was in heaven. Food was so dang good. Gonna grab wife and come back next week
Delicious food, nice decor, friendly staff. Sweet and sour is particularly delicious, plenty of vegetables, they don't deep-fry the meat.
[If you've been in NC long enough, you know the sweet and sour I'm taking about, overly sweet sauce with deep-fried chicken and no vegetables; that used to be all over NC. This is not that at all!]
Ordered takeout. Got the drunken noodles with chicken and 3/4 on the spice scale. Was impressed with how flavorful it was, filled with the aroma of Thai basil and garlic. Will definitely order again.
This was my first time having Thai food and didn't know what to expect but walking through the door my wife and I were greeted by the host Tor who was very friendly & the food was really, really great!!!
Really good drunken noodles with vegetables
One of my favorite Thai restaurants in RDU! If you like yellow curry, the yellow curry noodle soup is unbeatable! Definitely try it if you like curry. I'm usually a red curry person but I'll always get yellow curry noodles from here! Delicious!!!!!
the food was good.
We asked for chili powder and it arrived along with a few more saucers. When we lifted the lid of one of them, we found (on both the saucer and the lid) a "coating" of green and black rot.
Not pleasant and we will not come back here again
My partner and I absolutely love getting carry out from here! I have a gluten intolerance, so they always hold the dark soy sauce from my drunken noodles. Their drunken noodles are incredible, and I love the variety of heat options! If I go spicier, I get the vegetable Tom Kha soup to help quench the spice. My partner’s preferred Thai noodle dish is Pad See Ew, and Twisted Noodles is her favorite place to get them. The staff there is always incredible, the first time we ordered online, they sweetly called to check the order and let me know one dish had gluten (my partner can have it). I love their attentiveness to detail and the way they care for customers! One time I got there fairly early to pick up my order and they brought me a glass of water without me asking. It’s like a family! Highly recommend, I will keep coming back for sure!!
Nice Noodle/Thai restaurant in Durham. Had dinner here with family. We ordered the Twisted Crying Tiger, Pad See Ew, Teochew Noodle Soup, and Curry. The food was delicious and the service was quick. I particularly enjoyed the Crying Tiger dish as the meat was very tasty. Overall it’s a good experience!
My favorite place to eat in Durham (note this isn't the Chapel Hill restaurant). Excellent Tom Kha, better than anywhere else I've tried, including dozens of places in Thailand.
Great place for a quiet lunch with a friend. Thai food is a favorite of mine, and the green curry and drunken noodles here are awesome.
Great food and excellent service
The dish that we ordered was delicious. I would definitely order again the next time that I visit Durham again.
I end up loving everything I order from here.
Twisted noodle is by far the best Thai food anywhere around. I have gone to them for years and I am never disappointed. They take great care in preparing your food and are very clear about any food specifications that you need.
Twisted Noodle might appear at first glance to be a run of the mill strip mall Thai Food Restaurant, but it is not. The quality of the food at twisted noodle rivals any I’ve had in New York City. It is something I look forward to each year when I visit and I am never let down. The Panang Curry is complex, sweet, and rich.
Thank you for taking care to make your food at a dependable high quality
So yummy and lots of vegan and vegetarian options!
It’s been a while since I’ve really enjoyed Thai Food. I’m so happy I stumbled into this restaurant.
Great customer service, so helpful and attentive with any questions you have about an order! Food is amazing. 100% recommend out of all the locations in the area.
Food was alright, but they gave us a side of plain noodles instead of the summer rolls we ordered. We called and they said they would not be able to give us a refund for the summer rolls because it was a credit card, which I find hardly believable in this day and age. They were nice enough over the phone, which is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1.
Edit: changing this to 4 stars because they ended up calling and providing a refund.
My 12 yr old son said the chicken wings and the Pork Red Curry was the BEST he’s ever had! I thought he was going to drink the sweet chili sauce. It was spicy and sweet at the same time, just like my son!
Enjoyed the food and the host was really nice.
Delicious food. And a regular place for our family to order from with all of the delicious options. The drunken noodles and crying tiger are my favorite.
A staple in our dine out rotation. If we're in the area, we stop off. Drunken Noodles are a go to here. If you like spice even medium will do you good.
Best Thai spot in Durham
Hot piping Thai food as good as it gets!
It is with great disappointment that I have to rate this establishment so poorly. Prior to my most recent order I thoroughly enjoyed dining here. I recently placed a to go order and upon opening the container was immediately taken aback. There was not one but several small roaches throughout the noodles for a soup item that I ordered. I immediately returned everything for a full refund to which I was told they weren’t sure how they got in there. I obviously will not be returning.
The drunken noodles are awesome.
Twisted noodle is one of my all-time favorite restaurants and it has never disappointed. Of course Thai food is often completely amazingly yummy and nutritious and healthy,. In any case I love the twisted noodle I love you I love you I love you!!
I had Tom Yam soup, which looks and tastes completely different from the menu picture. I never have it again.
The food is delicious and well priced, and the Mango sticky rice is amazing
Everything can be made vegan!! Love it here.
Great food and atmosphere. The service was good as well! You may not see it crowded but they get a lot of take out. But then I've mostly gone for an early lunch.
Great Pad Thai!
We were very excited to have the green curry, but the shrimp was undercooked. Luckily I noticed it after the first few bites. I hope I don't get sick from this. I would encourage customers to directly order instead of online and specifically ask about undercooked meat issues being corrected. But the curry itself tasted fantastic. I'm hoping they increase their safety standards.
Delicious food, great service, sometimes the take out portions are not large enough for a full meal, but otherwise everything is great
States on their site open until 3 and reopens at 430. Got here at 230 and was already closed
Excellent food and service! We shared a Tom Kha chicken soup (large = 3 cups!), drunken noodle chicken and a sauté ginger shrimp dish. Fabulous! Definitely be back!!
Such good food for such a great price. They are always very speedy and courteous. Highly recommend!
Delicious food and amazing service! Great price too! Will definitely return. Their take out is very fast and efficient as well.
Delicious
They always please me!!!! The food is awesome, and so is the service. Strong Work Twisted Noodles!!!!
Best thai food I've ever had
My tummy is happy
Just happened by this place the other night while waiting to pick someone up in Durham. Definitely exceeded all expectations. My wife had the yellow curry noodle soup and my daughter and I split the chicken pad thai and pineapple fried rice. Everything was very well done and flavorful, and at very reasonable prices (not much more cost-wise than the from-a-box pop-up Chinese food stores but WAY better quality). Happy they have a few locations around here. Only minor complaint was that the chicken in most of the dishes was overdone/rubbery but the flavors of sauces and other components were outstanding (would have uploaded pictures but everything was gone by the time I thought about it). Very friendly service as well.
Great place and service. Food is quite authentic- so warning for those who haven't had authentic spicy- and has flexibility for choice of meat or if you need vegetarian or gluten free options. You can order to go or eat on site.
Been frequently the place for last 5 years and still same great food and service. Despite not being fond of the plaza it's in. It is easier to find parking near them with the lot they have to the side of it.
Extremely meh.
It was okay. They have tofu as an option on some dishes like curry and they'll actually give some spice to their curry if you order it (unlike lots of places I've tried where they cool it down too much).
There wasn't much depth to the curry though, and the heat was all upfront, a mouth heat, not enough to heat your belly. Their curry just lacked depth of spices that is to be expected in this type of dish.
While they have tofu as an option for their gyōza, I recommend passing. It's inexpensive, but that's because they're significantly smaller than most gyōza and all wrapper, not filling. While the dough was nice and delicate, not chewey or doughy from being overcooked, it made it rather bland. And the sauce served with it was just.. wrong. Just no.
Also, why green bell peppers and green beans? When you know it would be better with red bell peppers and snow peas, why substitute with a lesser, albeit cheaper, ingredient? Cutting corners with ingredients only lends to subpar products.
Rude and lazy staff. They refused to accommodate my wheelchair and told me to use GrubHub, rather than assist me (for the record, all I asked was that they help me get the food to my car since I'm in a wheelchair and was parked right in front). Their lack of customer service is enough to turn me off to their food, which from what I hear, isn't that great to begin with. I'll find another Thai place, one that isn't so ableist.
Edit: after reading the response from the owner I'm even more annoyed because the staff member outright lied to his boss. He is the one who suggested we use GrubHub after we asked for curbside service. We did not say anything about using a delivery service. I asked for curbside service and he said they don't do that and I'd have to order delivery through GrubHub. I then said "to clarify, are you saying you can't bring the food to my car if I order and pay over the phone with you?" And he specifically said they could not, and would not, even though I am in a wheelchair and could not enter the restaurant on my own steam.
The owner may mean very well but his staff is dishonest and I can't do business with a company who treats their customers with contempt and then lies about it.
No curbside, so no accommodation for the disabled
They used to accommodate vegans by making their stir fry sauces without fish sauce when requested but I just ordered drunken noodles and they gave it to me with no sauce at all! The portion size was measly too, with only 1 wide noodle!
Food is really good and they can make many of the dishes gluten free. My favorite is the drunken noodles with duck. A little pricey but definitely worth it.
This is now my #1 go to restaurant! I love the noodles they serve they are pretty quick serving the food and the food is still super flavorful! Love this place I definitely recommend!
Ordered first time and I loved it
Tom kauk soup bit too plain and else good
Yum
Holy Noodle!!!! We've been looking for delicious traditional Panang Curry since we left Baltimore. We found it today. Everything was scrumptious. We will be back! Best Thai food in Durham!
This place is great for people with food allergies as long as tell them when you order. I get the drunken noodle. Their tofu is so good.
Good good.
We both, my husband and I love the food they cook. My favorite is fried rice, it tastes really good with all vegetables inside. Try it!
Great lunch specials under $10. Got their lunch special with shrimp fried rice, 4 wings, and a bowl of salad. Shrimp fried rice was solid – no artificial flavors and good portions. Wasn’t expecting much from the wings, but they were very good even without the sauce. The quality of the wings were definitely comparable to wing specialty stores like the Heavenly Buffalos. Salad was a bit too heavy on the sauce, but overall a very satisfying meal. If you’re looking for a lunch under $10 that has good portion and quality, this is the place to go.
I think this is some of the best food around. The panang curry is amazing, everything else Ive gotten here has been great.
Twisted Noodles always has very quick service, sanitized pens and a speedy payment system in place--perfect place to grab a pick-me-up lunch, they usually have only a 10 minute wait if you call ahead. The green curry has a particularly large portion that can easily be two meals with the large amount of rice they give you!
The Panang curry is amazing...best I ever had. All the ride and noodle dishes I’ve tried have been very good also.
Chicken pad tai VERY dried out!! Noodles clumped together like they were not stirred when cooked!
Only a few dried up shavings of chicken breast TOTALLY unable to chew!
Can’t Believe I paid OVER $12.00 for this dried out meal!!👎🏽👎👎👎
Very, Very disappointed!
Will NOT be returning!
Always wonderful food. They find the best mangos for the sticky rice. I've created multiple addicts.
Great food, friendly staff. Yellow curry noodles are great.
bland
Ordered Thai chili and basil chicken...not real Thai food...disappointing
Love the potato corn cakes
Vegan options, great portions, way more than your average Thai takeout.
LOVE THIS PLACE!! Food and service is always GREAT!!
Drunken noodles are the bomb
One of the best thai restaurants in the area. Bomb. Yellow curry with noodles are fab. Panang curry is great. Pad thai great. Tom kha, tom yum nice. Mango sticky rice tasty. Take out packing and portions great.
Twisted Noodles is the bomb. Excellent service, wonderful food. We will always come back here!
Some of our favorite Thai food in Durham! Pad Thai is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!
Our favorite Thai restaurant in Durham. The service is great and the food fantastic. The red curry is to die for and so is their famous twisted noodles (flat noodles). Definitely recommend this place. Beware: their Thai spice can make your eyes water!
I've been eating here for almost 10 years. I have yet to eat something that wasn't INCREDIBLE. If you love Thai food, this restaurant is a must!
The food was very good and the service was the fastest I've had from almost any restaurant while still tasting fresh and delicious. The staff was friendly and asked us several times if there was anything we needed.
Ordered the roast duck soup in a dark broth. The duck was tender, the broth was delicious, and the service was great. Reasonably priced, too. Would recommend!
Wife and I both had a red curry dish. Mine had these pork dumplings. Food was delicious. Quaint place with great food
Fantastic Thai noodle joint with a wealth of vegan options, and flexibility to prepare menu items to make them vegan-friendly. Highly recommend!
Good food and inexpensive..
Chicken dry and over cooked, shrimp and rice not real good, tea not sweet and watered, 3 of us had the the thing, all 3 charged different.
They have the best Thai food in the Triangle, AND they can now make nearly any dish gluten free! If you are a fan of red curry, you MUST have the duck red curry. It's the creamiest, most delicious curry around. We usually get takeout from here. Edit: having both moved to California and eaten at many of the local Thai places and having spent a few weeks traveling around Thailand now, I can say that Twisted Noodle's flavors are the best I've had in the states. Their curries are the closest thing to authentic Thai curries that I ate in restaurants and on the streets of Thailand. I miss this place!
Consistently good food. I love that when I ordered the pad thai with tofu, the waiter made sure that I understood that had eggs in it. Very sensitive to vegetarian and vegan needs.
Very friendly and Good service. Food quality is awesome. Go to place for authentic Thai food.
The red curry was really good, the pad Thai was a bit lacking in flavor. We got the tofu and squash appetizer, I expected it to be more than just literally fried tofu and squash, but it was also fine. The service was good, we were the only ones there (early weekday evening) so I can't speak to how it is when it's busy
I love the drunken noodles with chicken and vegetables.
Wonderful food can't wait to try other foods that are on the menu
