Grand Opening February 17, 2020
Just had my best Thai lunch experience ever, and definitely one of the best lunches I've had in the Triangle NC area. Highly-recommended if you enjoy spicy Thai curry.
It was my 2nd time going to Thai Station but my first time during lunch hours. The place clearly looks like a "Station" as it used to be a train station back in the day. As soon as I entered, I was delighted to see the restaurant's main dining area with beautiful basket lights and lush plants by the ceiling, giving the ambiance an exotic and adventurous vibe. Pretty much as if a train just took us to Thailand.
From this area, Thai Station splits into two "train" dining areas of equal size; I was taken to a table on the left side, and handed the restaurant's well-crafted menu with clear photos of various Thai dishes, appetizers, and desserts. And they have a great deal for their Lunch specials, which come with a complimentary item, which for this day, is a small salad with some kind of peanut ginger dressing.
I ordered the Panang Curry Lunch special with beef (Medium-spiced) and a glass of iced Thai tea. You can choose other proteins like chicken or shrimp for your curry and the price differences are not much. The complimentary salad and the Thai tea were served fast by the gentle server named Tanat C. The salad tasted fresh and the peanut ginger dressing is so good at just the right amount as an appetizer. It also came with Shrimp chips on a tiny metal basket, and the crispiness of it goes well with the salad.
The Thai tea is served in a tall, slender glass, just the fine amount. It tasted delicious, creamy and sweet - a great balance of refreshing Thai tea, condensed milk, and ice.
It took about 8 minutes for the Panang Curry to reach my table, so it was quite fast. There are 3 levels of spiciness you can get, and I chose the middle Medium one. First of all, the presentation of this red curry lunch is just appetizing: the curry is served in a cup with just the right amount for an affordable price (around $11.50) and beside it is a fine amount of Jasmine white rice.
The sauce of the curry was spiced perfectly, just how I want 3eit. I could taste the rich coconut milk and the authentic Panang flavor. There were red, green, and yellow bell peppers and peas with a good amount of beef. Whether you taste the curry sauce by itself or put it over the rice, the whole meal with the lime leaf on the side is just satisfyingly delicious.
The server Tanat C. was a gentleman, refilled my water when I needed it, and I saw him serving the other customers professionally. The two female customers beside me also enjoyed the curry they ordered.
I went here with my girl for dinner before, and we tried the Masaman (yellow) curry. It was also authentic and delicious. Both dinner and lunch experiences were good, but I think I enjoyed the lunch one a bit more perhaps because their specials are such a great deal. We also tried the chicken stays skewers, and they're not a bad appetizer, which comes with 4 pieces for $8.
As I devoured the remaining curry sauce, I could hear there's an actual train moving outside the window! I thought trains stopped going here in downtown Carrboro, but that added to the wonderful lunch experience inside, living up to its "Thai Station" name. They have other Thai dishes I haven't tried like their soups, stir-fried noodles, friend rice, House's Specials, and mostly-ice cream desserts, but the Thai curry is always a must-order for me.
Thai Station's authentic Thai flavors, astonishing ambiance, affordable yet satisfying lunch specials and friendly customer service make this restaurant one of the best reasons to visit downtown Carrboro.
Thai restaurant offer an authentic Thai dinning experience!!
I got Khao-soi it is a creamy curry rich noodles with tender chicken, crispy fried noodles on top, and just the right amount of spice. It is authentic menu from northern of Thailand Which is really hard to find at any other Thai restaurant around here and trust me i’m from north of Thailand it brought back memories from home!
So, If you’re craving the comfort of Thai food, look no further! Defiantly coming back!
Although this restaurant has been around quite a while I have never visited it because I spent quite some time in Thailand and most of the Thai restaurants are not very good... Having said that this restaurant is excellent in many ways both the incredibly friendly and accomodating staff, and the menu choices are outstanding. Everything is fresh and seems to be prepared to order. Small relatively intimate atmosphere some of which is located in an old train car. The prices are very reasonable, in the deserts, especially mango and sticky rice are worth Saving Room for. Highly recommended I go there often!
The atmosphere is dope, the service was very polite and friendly! The food presentation wise was fantastic however when it comes to taste it was mid at best! Was very disappointing.
I’m very confused by the five star reviews here, unless these people have severe dietary restrictions that don’t allow flavor?
The atmosphere is kind of cool, letting you sit in real train cars. Service was ok, though they definitely seemed short handed. Unfortunately the food is the reason we won’t come back.
We ordered chicken satay and spring rolls to start. Both were ok, though the spring rolls were basically hollow with no filling. For mains we ordered drunken noodles and Thai street basil sauce. Portion size was ok, not huge. I’d say more than half the size was due to peppers (which weren’t fully cooked). Neither entree really had any flavor. The most bland meal I’ve had in a long time. Imagine making white rice, browning some ground chicken and putting it on top, and calling it a day. That’s what this was.

Came here with a group of 8 for my friend's birthday and we were all so pleased with how it went! Food was delicious, of course--my curry was amazing, and we were all really surprised at how low the price was for the quality of food. If you like spice, I would recommend going super spicy for the creamy curry as I got moderate spice and couldn't really taste it. About half of us were vegetarian and they were very accommodating and had so many options, but it's all customizable so didn't stop anyone from ordering. Service was impeccable, food came out prompt and our server was super sweet. Best of all, we brought a cake and they came out and served it for us, with plates, utensils, and a free dessert! Vibes are always great here and I was very impressed <3
Seated near front door food flavor was ok, it was warm but protein, vegetables and spices were all cooked individually and not all Thai hot. Spices were juicy at spooned over top dry. I would rate it as not authentic and yada yada yada.
We went in tonight before new years. It had been a month or two since we had been in. We can always count on a perfect meal. KP took care of us as usual. She is simply the best. Glass noodle soup then Tilapia Ginger closed w a coconut cake. All epically fresh and seasoned perfectly. We have brought friends in the past and we all agree this is a perfect spot for a casual dinner in a great atmosphere. If you love trains it’s over the top. Please don’t change a thing we look forward to many more meals in 2025. Our favorite goto in the triangle.

Guess new owners or at least new cooks? Our take out green curry with tofu and pad Thai with shrimp was totally different than the last three years. Tofu mushy. Noodles the same in pad Thai. New faces inside too. Not bad but - we won’t be back. Darn.
Great lunch spot with unique atmosphere, excellent food, and great service.
Beautiful restaurant, kind staff, good food. I like the Penang Curry and the dumplings appetizer.
Food is very good, lunch special and prices are GREAT, you can bring dogs to outdoor seating
Wonderful Thai food in a unique atmosphere. I've only been a few times but it's one of the best Thai restaurants in the Triangle. Everything is flavorful, and if you like spicy they will do it right.
I love this place. Middle of carrboro, walking to anywhere, the food is always very tasty and very generous portions for a more than fair price, especially nowadays when it feels like every other restaurant is so expensive. I have enjoyed most meal types from noddle dishes, soups, and curries. The complimentary salad and shrimp crackers to make you wait feels special as well, it's something you don't get much anymore in most places.
The atmosphere is just very unique within the wagons, or on a nice outdoor deck. Always surprised by how quiet this place often is when we head there
The food is excellent and not overpriced. The dinning area is unique but well designed. For 2 people with an appetizer, 2 plates, and a dessert it came out to around $40 before the tip.
Really cool atmosphere with the "station" and train cars and outdoor patio. Genuinely friendly service - staff seemed to be having a great time. One of the best pad see ew dishes I've had and I make a habit of trying a new thai place every time I visit a town 🦒
If you haven't made your way to Thai Station in Carrboro yet, you need to. The first thing that is striking is the ambience of the "station." It was built in the remnants of an old railroad station. Next, the food is delicious . I have eaten Thai Station grilled chicken, and it's amazing. The seating is comfortable, and there is a section where you can eat outside within the restaurant. Give it a try. We can't wait to go back.
The place is designed very nicely. The train-car is cool and the open ceiling with tons of (plastic) vegetation is refreshing. I've been here a few times with reservations for work events and they always seem entirely unprepared for 8-10 of us when they have almost no other customers and we have a standing reservation. Waiting for tables to be put together isn't professional and has been the case every single time. The food is good. My co-workers an I have not tasted a single thing that was less than "good." As for authentic, it is a bit toned down for the American palette. But still, it's definitely solid. Wait times for drinks and food are fine. Service once attained, is decent+. If you come for the fish sauce and spice, don't hesitate with ordering "mild." Go for hot.
I just stopped at their back patio to take a break from a walk and didn't even eat there and the staff offered my dog a cookie. Now I'm gonna go eat there.
Very nice Thai restaurant in a pair of old refurbished RR dining cars. Excellent lunch of green curry, reasonably priced, in a charming, quiet setting. Parking was challenging.
Slay
Food was amazing! So much flavor and the servings were a lot bigger than anticipated. Not only is this place delicious and in an old train station, the staff were super friendly and helpful. We did have to wait a bit but it was because they were so busy! Best spot in the triangle!
This Thai restaurant is unmatched. I went here almost once a week when I was in undergrad at UNC. I swear by their Tofu Pad Thai, and genuinely have not found another thai restaurant that comes close to matching how good Thai Station is. Their takeout service and online ordering is super easy and efficient. Expect to wait if you are dining-in for dinner on the weekend. HIGHLY recommend visiting Thai Station for an unbeatable meal when in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area
The atmosphere is really unique. But there is no spice, and it's more sweet than anything. Dinner took 2 hours for 6 people as well. So no, I couldn't recommend coming here.
Fresh Ingredients! Good service and ambience. Drunken Noodle are must to try..
They have been understaffed for the past couple years and have very young people working in the front, who usually don’t know how to answer what the wait will be (based on 3 different occasions). Every time you ask what the wait it, they say it’s tough to say. One out of 3 times I had someone give an estimated wait. There is no ability to make a reservation online. Food and atmosphere are good. The difficulties around planning to eat here make it hard to get to.
One of my favorite places in the Chapel Hill / Carrboro area! The staff is so lovely both with eat in and takeout. The lunch special is an unbelievable deal with a complimentary soup and salad along with a reduced price. Food is consistently tasty. Will continue to make this a frequent stop in my last year at UNC!
DO NOT PARK HERE! Car was predatorily towed! Not worth spending money here
Great food, fitting atmosphere and attentive service
Their food is pretty good, but the decorations and atmosphere are amazing! It is supposed to be a train station? They don’t really take reservations in advance, though which kind of sucks when the wait is long. It’s also not the place I would go for authentic food to be honest.
Food is great! Staff are super friendly. The atmosphere is quite different compared to other Thai restaurants. I love this place! Will return!
Great atmosphere and good food. My partner LOVED the Thai coffee.
I love the food and atmosphere here. You can sit in one of the super cozy train cars, a more open spacious inside area or a beautiful shaded deck. My son loves trains so we will sometimes sit in the car or other times sit on the deck and let him walk around exploring the outside of the train cars while we are waiting for our food. I have not had a meal I didn’t like. Im a big fan of the green curry myself. My son loves the Thai fried rice. It’s a special little place to eat.
I found this restaurant in IG, we drove almost 3 just to try the food. We love Thai food and this restaurant didn’t disappoint me. Everything was delicious and tasty and also the ambience was unique. Love it! Definitely coming back soon.
Beautiful environment, amazing food, great lunch deals! Vegetarian options are delicious
Loved sitting outside in the garden with the resident cat. Good food, good company, helpful staff.
环境还不错的泰餐 味道中规中矩
Wonderful interior space (minus the off putting and discordant TV) and great Thai food. Service is strained and they could use more servers.
Americanized Thai food, it's definitely one of those places you come for the unique atmosphere. Ordered Thai hot but the dishes were more sweet than anything...
Prices for chicken entrees started at $16- compared to a lot of places in Charlotte/Cary that start at $13/$12 with larger portions. It isn't a bad place but there are better options for Thai food in the area, the ambience of being in a train however was excellent.
Great place to get some delicious Thai in a fun vibe. Very nice staff as well. All around an excellent choice!
Basically you just pay for the atmosphere. Service was friendly but pad thai was horrible.
First of all I LOVE the food and I am a big Thai station fan and have been for years. However my service tonight was ridiculous. Our server, Kowit, was extremely passive aggressive from the moment we sat down. One of our friends could not make it and our server continued to mention the fact that he was not there over and over again. I think I counted seven, maybe eight, times. When we had only had our food for 12 minutes he rushed us to get boxes and the checks. Also, the restaurant was not busy, so we were not taking someone’s seat and we had plenty of time until closing. When we had not put our cards down immediately while we were still eating, he looped back around and pointed at the empty check booklets. When we had finished eating, he picked up our plates and said “you’re finally done and your friend never came.” No duh our friend never came. We told him this from the start. Every single comment out of his mouth had some passive aggressive edge. Let us enjoy our food. I have been a regular over the last four years and have NEVER experienced such RUDE service. Get it together.
One of the best atmospheres
and staff I've experienced in the area. Will definitely repeat.
I fell in love with their fried rice the first time, but the second time the fried rice was greasy, bland and it gave me diarrhea. They have cute decorations.
There was hair in my food 3 seperate times. Every time I've ordered the drunken noodles they have not been consistent at all in taste. Some days there is absolutely no flavor and is super bland. The people who work there are nice and super sweet, but over the years the food has been really losing it's quality. The atmosphere is definitely nice, but as far as food goes, it really depends on what you get. I have also had male hair in my food on 3 seperate occasions even after adding a note/comment to make sure the food was made properly. I would NOT suggest this restaurant. They assured me every cook has hairnets on, but still unsure how hair is ending up in my food....
My partner and I were so excited to try this place. We decided to come after my 12 hr shift at the hospital. We came around 8:20pm and were turned away due to the time. Apple Maps had the closing time as 9pm and I see that is now fixed. Another couple also came in after us. When we got turned away, we went to find another restaurant near the area and my car got towed. Again, I was so excited to try this place and support their business but instead I spent $360 to get my car back and spent another $30 for an Uber as a college student. It’s one thing to want to support an establishment but whoever owns Carr Mill Mall is doing an injustice for the small businesses around it. I hope that as an establishment, you guys take the time to advocate for your customers and your community.
A good selection of dishes on the menu, well presented plates, a nice range of spice options, and attentive service. We enjoyed our meal and will certainly be back!
They ask me for at least pay 18% tips. trash place
I posted a review about a month ago about how the takeout service was too long. But then the owner proceeded to mistake me for some other customers who were apparently screaming across the restaurant, when I was just standing quietly at the entrance and wasn't witness to anyone screaming
Great food and friendly service. I've never had a negative experience here. If you're not sure what to order, try the Masaman Curry!
Really cool atmosphere in the two old train cars and the interior space built between them. Lovely courtyard too. Our duck fried rice and and pad see yew (I think is right) were really wonderful and fresh. This place has excellent food and atmosphere.
Have visited this restaurant many times and is one of my favorites, hard decisions as the area has so many excellent restaurants.
The stir-fried soft crab is a delicacy not easily found.
Enjoyed our server Kaowpun M, her welcoming smile is a plus.
If you are lucky to have her tell her this recommendation comes from Buddha, am sure she will have a laugh!!
Great experience terrific food very funky Chapel Hill train station dining car restaurant. I've eaten Thai food in many cities and they are among the best. FYI 3 hot peppers is REALLY hot.
THE BEST Thai food I've ever had. Excellent taste, service and ambience!
my favorite place to eat in carrboro. The lunch menu is sooo affordable and delicious and service is great. Highly highly highly recommend.
Food/taste was so-so.
I have been dining at Thai Station since its inception, and consistently, both the cuisine and service have been exceptional. Throughout my experiences, I have encountered no issues whatsoever. For those seeking authentic and delicious cuisine, I wholeheartedly recommend Thai Station.
We absolutely love this restaurant. We eat take out from Thai station about once a week, and is a top option for taking visitors due to the incredible atmosphere, delicious and unique menu, and the great service. We have tried their stir fry noodle dishes, almost every curry and fried rice and you cannot go wrong. They also have great options for flavored sake (lychee is our favorite). Parking can get a little dicey, but it is always worth it.
Food was mid - nothing special. Service was super slow. Won’t be coming back.
I had a wonderful first-time dining experience at Thai Station during a visit back to my alma mater. Although I had been to the previous establishment at that location, I had never visited Thai Station before. The restaurant is designed to resemble a train station, with each table situated inside a "cabin." I thoroughly enjoyed my Pla scallops and Green Curry, and I look forward to returning for more!
I had a lovely time here with my 2 year old! I was worried how things might go since it looked like a relatively small restaurant, but they were so friendly with her, and she loved looking out the train windows. Also very affordable!
Food was excellent very fresh, great flavors. We ordered shrimp pad Thai and duck noodles soup. The staff very very friendly, they were extremely busy, but that didn't change their attitude. Only 4 stars because of the noise level, but unique setting in a train car.
So cute!! Very romantic and kind of magical. I went for lunch with my bestie and it was so perfect. I suggest being prepared to be patient with the time. Like, dont come during peek hours and expect quick service. I enjoyed the atmosphere, and the waitress was pleasant, attentive, and informative. As a chef, I completely respect when the chef or cook comes out to verify my food allergy. The questions they often ask prove to me how serious they take food safety and the need to accommodate as best they can. I ordered off the lunch menu and my dish was on point, but get appetizers, they are so refreshing and flavorful. I plan on going back and getting something spicy.
We used to go here all the time because the food was delicious and prices were low. Recently we went and prices have almost doubled. At lunch time on a Friday there were just a few people in the restaurant.
Least spicy and most bland food. The staff also didn’t do a good job, was annoying us about leaving as soon as the restaurant officially closed.
The food, service, and cleanliness were all excellent. We really enjoyed our lunch here. Atmosphere is nostalgic, dining in old train cars.
Beware when dining here, this establishment is located in Carr Mill Mall. This property have a very predatory parking policy, car was towed while having dinner. Which costed $260 cash or $360 ! credit to get the car. Please be careful when dining here or at Carr Mill mall. You will get towed !
When we first moved from Boston to Durham, we lamented the lack of great Thai food. Then we got put on to this spot. Super friendly and accommodating staff, great prices, DELICIOUS food. Worth the drive every time. Now to convince them to open a spot closer to us 🤣
I absolutely love thai station!! Their lunch special is an absolutely amazing deal, ranging from $8-11 for an entree, soup or salad based on the day, and shrimp crackers! I’ve tried and can highly recommend the thai fried rice, panang curry, pad thai, and chicken noodle soup! I also like to order their fresh rolls as an appetizer, and they’re always super fresh and served with a delicious fresh green sauce. The interior is tastefully decorated and most of the seating is in two train cars, which makes for a really cool dining experience!
I suspect wrong meal was brought out to me for lunch not a big deal but I didn’t like it and was not offered chance to order something different and was charged for meal that I only had 2 bites of . I would have been happy to pay $ and order something different but they decided to be cheap , waiter treated me poorly and sent me away hungry .
Very happy with my lunch. Seating at booth-style tables would be too tight for people living with obesity. Particularly impressed by their fresh wraps, a great value that comes not only with the customary brown sauce w/ peanuts, but also a yummy green mint and lime herbal dipping sauce.
I have lived in Chapel Hill long enough to have seen a few iterations of “the Station”. Last night it looked better than I have ever seen it. The service was very kind and gracious. The food was excellent and reasonably priced (Penang Curry, Pad Kee Mao). We will return often.
thai station has a very cute atmosphere. its well maintained and the food was also great. we sat in one of the trains and the seats and decor are beautiful since its holiday season. it can be a bit loud in the train seating because its a smaller space with lots of people. the lunch menu pricing is very very worth it! food can be a bit on the sweet side. overall i would visit again and the staff and food is a 10/10
SUCH good food. We had the Papaya Salad, Pad Kee Mao, and the Station Duck Curry and all of it was so, so good. The waiter was so friendly and nice. The venue is cute in its little train cars. Also, it was super cheap and super big portions!
Great lunch menu. VERY reasonable, and the setting is unique.
Recently had dinner with friends. I was a little underwhelmed this evening. Felt like the flavors were....muted. New cook? Maybe. I won't give up though, could be just me.
As mentioned in the previous comment, that waiter simply needs to be more educated. Even a middle school kid knows more about the etiquette required of a waiter than he does.
A family friend had invited us to have lunch there today. I feel like this is the best Thai restaurants I have ever had in this area. Each dish has abundant food, and are really delicious. The atmosphere is amazing.
best cutest (& well priced) lunch in chapel hill! if you're vegan/vegetarian just say something so they know to hold the fish sauces
Loved this place! Everything was amazing except the hostess who seated us. If you can get past her and into one of the train cars to eat it's a really fun experience (she was being very difficult and not letting people sit in cars even though there was only one other couple in each car). We loved the food, the wait staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere in the train cars brings that special something to the whole experience. Can't wait to go back - hopefully the hostess will be off when we go.
Neat little Thai restaurant in several interconnected train cars. Staff was friendly and accommodating, food was exquisite. Definitely coming back here next time I'm in Carrboro
I had lunch today at Thai Station, I ‘m sharing what experience I had at the staff how he treated me. He not friendly! Eggplant was firm and fried egg has running! I told the server well cooked for egg but when the food was ready and given to me he said it cooked but it not!! He didn’t offer me house complimentary! He didn’t check on me how was the food! I haven’t finish food he already give me the bilI , I want to other more food to go but the way he treated me was bad!! 👎 When I looked around other tables he didn’t drop off bill while they eating, he always check on others tables how was the food! Last time I went there, servers were great, not today!! So bad experiencing I had today!! Never coming back 👎👎👎👎👎👎
Thai Station is the hands-down best restaurant I have ever been blessed to visit. A lovely environment with tasteful decoration, comfortable and blissful outdoor seating, a calm environment, prompt and kind wait staff, delicious food and fast service all await you here. I usually get the Panang Curry with chicken. It's filling, healthy food, and delicious too. Thai food may not suit everyone's tastes, and much of it is spicy, but there are options for everyone. All desserts and appetizers here are delicious; I personally recommend the Chicken Satays as an appetizer, and the Coconut Cake and Thai Donuts as desserts. Mango sticky rice is also a gluten and dairy free option, and tasty even if it doesn't suit my personal tastes. I've been here a dozen times by now and have never had a less than satisfactory experience. The food is comforting, the atmosphere calm, and it's overall a lovely experience. I look forward to everh visit.
Cool train, car. Friendly people. Excellent pad thai and Penang curry. Very reasonable price. Plenty of protein. What's not to love? Booths and bigger windows in a train car to the right. Definitely makes you feel like you're in the dining car.
All 5's but Atmosphere really stands out in train car. Also has great parking next to the mall
I went there with friends during Christmas season and the ambiance was really on point! I loved the atmosphere so much. It was so unique because they turned an old train truck into a dining place. It was definitely cool to look at the decorations and a very nice place to have a cozy time with friends.
What a marvelous dinner! Menu is very intriguing. Fresh rolls with nuts and sauce are incredible. I am looking forward to my next visit to explore more from their menu.
GReat vibes
Go to place for Thai. We’ve tried many dishes and they are all wonderful.
A great Thaï place for all those who have a liking in such food!
Great service and great people there!
Amazing curry dishes that everyone loved! Service was much better then when we previously ate here. Wait time was very reasonable; staff is very friendly and helpful.
Thai Station is always delicious, no matter what you order. Staff is very friendly. Sometimes during busy times, you might wait awhile for a table, but it is well worth the wait!
Food was pretty good especially the veggie spring rolls, but it was 100 degreessI outsides and he brought us warm water with no ice…Really we had to ask for Ice and 3 napkins. Otherwise not bad

Thai Station is my favorite restaurant. Period. Every aspect of it is flawless with no room for improvement. The interior design is remarkable for it has hanging lamps and plants coming down from the ceiling. The pad Thai they serve is beyond compare. Even outshining (my prior favorite) Bangkok 54. They even perfected my favorite Thai tea - it is Goldilock impersonated - not too sweet, not too cold and superbly presented. Thai Station places great emphasis on the visual appeal of their dishes,. As they poured the milk onto the Thai tea it floats, creating a nice gradient from white to orange.
If I have to add a touch of criticism the service was satisfactory but not exceptional. The waiter did smile and check up on us, but felt rushed even though there were only 3-4 other tables. Regardless the quality of food is such that I keep coming back for more!
Service is very slow, but food is very good. I tried the red curry and I enjoyed it. Parking was a breeze which was my biggest concern after eating at many places in nearby Chapel Hill. All the food looked amazing and the prices are not too unreasonable. Just takes forever for the food to be prepared.
Lovely outdoor eating area and delicious food. I had the Duck Noodle Soup and it was very tasty, with a generous portion of reasonably lean duck breast.
Great Thai food but portions sizes has been reduced lately
Manang Curry with Tofu was so delicious!
Exceptional lunch experience: We had Pad Thai Chicken, Pangang Curry Chicken, Steamed Dumplings, and Fried Spring Rolls. The food was amazing and definitely too much for my wife and I to finish, but we wanted to try several of our favorite Thai dishes. The service was fast and very friendly. For lunch, in my book, this is a 5 star option in the UNCC area!
Not sure why this wonderful restaurant has a 4.4 lol. This town is full of silly people.
We have lived here for fifteen years and had never been to this restaurant. It was a last minute decision today to try it out for my wife's birthday. We are very glad that we finally gave it a try. The atmosphere was fantastic and we Loved feeling like we were on a train. The server was just as sweet as could be and was very attentive to our needs. The food was beautifully prepared and was fresh and delicious. We highly recommend this little gem here in Carrboro.
Good food really cute space
Great food in a cool environment
Our favorite place in Chapel Hill. Beautiful ambiance (train cars!), great waitstaff, and the food is always great.
Foods are great. Atmosphere is nice
Great service and great food!
Every dish was delectable! We greatly enjoyed the crab spring rolls, dumplings, and station duck curry. The duck was exquisite! The service was super friendly and prompt.
Chicken half raw inside.
This was a great find. My wife and I both like duck and each ordered a different duck dish. I had the Station duck curry which was loaded with a variety of vegetables in a perfectly cooked sauce with an ample portion of tender duck. My wife ordered The Bangkok duck rice dish which she pronounced delicious. The presentation was amazing. (Check the web site for photos.) There were many options on the lunch menu, but we selected from the larger menu to get more duck.
The service was impeccable and the train car atmosphere a real kick. This is not only a restaurant that we will visit again, but it quickly was added to our list of favorites.
The only negative was the parking. Though ample, it is situated near the entrance to the Carr-Mill complex and we were cut off by rude drivers upon both entering and exiting. Be careful.
