The food was outstanding. The rolls are buy one get one free. But Don’t let that fool you. They are huge. The ingredients are fresh and full of flavor. We did mistakenly order a “dessert roll”. Not a fan of that. But the rest was outstanding.

Well it was such a great experience. Live everything we ordered. I had Orange chicken. Fried rice, and broccoli. Also a salad. Every one else had sushi. Which they thought was super delicious. And they both were so surprised at the hugh size of the rolls. They actually could not finish the last 4 pieces. They wants to but just could not. Plenty of outside seating as well. Food was so fresh . Again will definitely go again.

The food was good, no complaints. But this was the most plastic and Styrofoam waste of any restaurant I have ever had carryout from ever, in my entire life. This was without a doubt the absolute worst example of disregard for the environment. Nearly every dish could have been packaged in some sort of container that was not made of Styrofoam or non-recyclable plastic.

We will NEVER return here for this reason.

Shop with your conscience people, restaurants can choose to create less garbage. Spend your dollars at responsible businesses.

I used to really love this place. The sushi used to be so great and a great price also. Over the last couple years it’s gone down hill while cost has gone up (as everything has). The sushi is not near as good, and the whole place smelled so fishy today when I arrived to pick up.

In the past this has been our favorite sushi place. However this time it was just okay. Some fish tasted a little off and texture weird. The rolls also fell apart easily: loose. Good but not great. Bathroom was dirty as usual but service was good.

We love sushi Iwa! My favorite rolls are the special salmon the yellow tail love rolls. It is BOGO and the rolls are large and filling. I typically have trouble finishing 2 of them!

We've enjoyed this establishment for years and years however the incessant price increases have finally tipped the scales.

The food remains solid, the atmosphere is as it's been forever, and the service is really dependent on the waiter one gets (today it was very poor for instance).

Yet, it's always busy so credit the owner for extracting as much profit as possible.

But as for my family, we'll be looking elsewhere for this type of cuisine.

The food is always great here, no matter what you order, and the service is both fast and efficient. Definitely a local favorite for sushi and still one of my top 3 favorite sushi restaurants in the Triangle area, and I'm a local native who has been eating here for AT LEAST 6 or 7 years

I usually love coming here. I get sushi, the coloseum, curry or lettuce wraps.

This time we tried the teriyaki chicken... It was gross. It had like 9 pieces of chicken and the sauce was watery and flavorless. The chicken had pepper on it. It was weird and cost $19!!

They increased all the prices by like $5 recently I guess...

Volcano roll..!!! Amazing

Their hibachi entrees are very well seasoned and flavorful. Its not just soy sauce friend meat and veggies like you get at the usual Japanese takeout places. The meat is of high quality as well and very tender. They are happy to accomodate keto and custom made my order. Highly recommend.

Let my son pick. $50 for the two of us (he got an appetizer as well). He said his Kung Pao was fine. I got General Tso's and it was terrible. The equivalent of the stuff you buy frozen at Walmart. Should have taken it back. We got Panda Xpress last week and sadly it was way better for half the price.

This was our first visit here. The waitress was quick and answered our questions. The food was delicious. I tried lo mein with steak, chicken and shrimp. It was delicious! I will go again and try something else there are so many dishes to pick from. The menu has pictures of all the dishes. They also have sushi buy one get one free.

I took my wife and daughter there for sushi. The service was good but the first thing I noticed was how nasty the place is. Our table wasn't cleaned after a prior customer. The floor and windows are nasty. There was a toothpick on a window ledge that looked like it had been there for a while. The menus are nasty. And the bathroom was filthy. We've had good experience there before. The food is ok, but I don't care to go back due to the lack of cleanliness in the place. Management needs to step up and make sure the place is clean or a health inspector needs to shut the place down.

Decent food, but terrible customer service. We were not welcomed in a proper manner, the man on the front desk didn't greet us properly, not even a hello. And as he led us to our table he just tossed the menus on the table and left us. Even the lady that served us didn't do a great job either. The place wasn't that clean, flies were flying all over our heads. We left with no tip due to the service and the lady that served us chased us outside to my car complaining for the tip. Very unprofessional of her to be coming up to us complaining for the tip. No good service=no tip. All in all, decent food but terrible customer service. Would not come back here again.

Insanely absurdly unforgivably slow

Good Sushi. One of the few restaurants left with BOGO sushi in the triangle. Their Sushi is big enough that two will definitely fill you up also their pad thai is very good.

Food was great, large portions of sushi made us full and leave with take home left overs,our server was friendly and attentive but lots of noise from the kitchen from them spraying and filling a mopping bucket, then the strong smell of bleach kind of ruined the experince for my wife and I(our first time there) and was slightly annoying. A server or bartender in a hat was eatting behind the bar out of a bowl and walking in and out of the kitchen which didnt look professional (I was a server for years). Over all the food was great, staff was bunched around the kitchen door making me wonder what was going on. Inside,it was kind of weathered and run down, clean,but shoddy/ basic repair work with visible wires running along our table with big metal staples holding the wires in place...I will give it another try and hopefully a better experience.

The host that seats people is incredibly rude. Doesn't greet people at all just looks at people like we're idiots. The food is great but having rude people is a complete turn off. That fat dude who's a host needs to take a hike and stop being rude.

The service was good and the waitress was very sweet and attentive. The menu was a little beat up and kind of had that 3rd rate feel to it. The rolls were buy one get one which was great. The sushi was good, not the best I've had but not bad. What I didn't like was the place was noisy and a lot of people had children there and they were annoying and loud. This isn't the place if you're looking for a nice night out. This had the feel of an all you can eat buffet.

Absolutely delicious and creative sushi rolls at a fair price. Their BOGO sushi special is pretty awesome with some rolls getting a bit up there in price but overall they make up for it with the BOGO deal. The service was great and very friendly. Highly recommend you try the Coliseum sushi tower and the Tuna Sandwich. So good! Honestly I'd say the only thing they could improve is the presentation and decor of the location. When you walk in it feels a bit confusing and unkept with the odd welcome desk area and the some decor clashes and is dated. Otherwise I highly recommend this place.

Eat your food before the flies do! Went here for lunch on Mothers Day. Flies buzzing around the inside of the restaurant and the kitchen doors propped open. This is not what you want to see at a sushi place. Flies and sushi are not a good combination unless you want to get worms.

After seeing this, I ended up ordering a non-sushi dish. food tasted ok. The place does seem dirty. Windows have grime and fingerprints everywhere and so it just feels like they’re not keeping up with cleaning.

The food here is great but the hostess is so rude right off the bat that it ruins the mood. I walked in and asked if there was a table for 2 available. She barely looked up, sighed heavily, and proceeded to look down at her papers without acknowledging me for a good 40 seconds. She then picked up a couple of menus and rushed off into the restaurant without another word. The entire interaction made me feel completely uncomfortable.

I love their food. Service is hit and miss in general never super bad. It's great to go to eat just not a cozy or warm place

This Restaurant in Apex is a true success story. It's often always packed and there's usually a long line of those picking up and delivering orders. The food is delicious, the location is centralized, the atmosphere is delightful and the prices are reasonable.

Having recently been to Japan, I was asked by my fellow diners how it compares to Japanese sushi. My response was that it's nothing like Japanese sushi, but it is good. They also have some good beers.

Great meal tonight for my brothers birthday dinner. We got the sushi boat for four, with the Grand Canyon roll, hot mama roll, eelishish roll, and la fiesta roll. The rolls, sashimi and nigiri were fantastic. The Grand Canyon is a fan favorite of all 3 teenage boys. Also had the orange chicken, tempora chicken, miso soup, hot and sour soup, and house salads with ginger. All were good. We had made reservation and were seated promptly at 630 for party of 6 on Saturday night. Service was great. Had lycee saki and hot sake to top it off. My brother was from out of town and loved everything.

The sushi rolls were tasteful BUT they were made poorly. They were over stuffed and the rice/seaweed wasn’t holding together well while eating the rolls.

Got the worst food poising I've ever experienced in my life from this place. Do not go here. If you want to vomit, just stick your finger down your throat instead of eating here, it's cheaper and easier.

I will gladly give 5 stars to the place, except I have to make a point about the cleaning ness of this place, it really needs a thorough clean up, the restrooms in particular, men's restroom were awful according to my son and husband and they NEVER complaint about this kind of things, so the fact that they said something is because it really was a disaster in there. Tables need a little more love, specially the sauce bottles, ours were sticky and if you just washed your hands before eating, you certainly do not want that on your hands right before or when eating.
Other than that it was delicious, fresh, excellent service, prices were adequate and no complaints, happy bellies all around. I will gladly come back, hopefully they will take care of the cleaning situation.

For the price buy 1, get 1 free l, the rolls are too expensive. The service and food are mediocre. There is no atmosphere inside at all, looks like a sport bar. Service is ok, however, everything is unorganized and dirty: tables, booster seats.

Everything is buy one get one in a very weird way so if you like complicated math and a hectic atmosphere this is the place for you. If you want to relax and get away from traffic not so much.

We make it a point to visit this place at least once every two weeks because we absolutely love it. The fast service, quality sushi, huge selection, and, most importantly, the pictures on the menu are the reasons we keep coming back. Not just the name and composition, but actual pictures with labeled ingredients. It's easy to see what the roll consists of and what it looks like.

I won't list what we ordered because we've tried almost everything on the menu, and we liked everything. Some rolls may seem sweet, but that's because of the sauce, and it's always written about in advance.

We've also ordered to-go many times through their app. We've never had a problem with payment or selection, and our orders have always been on time. The quality of the rolls is no different than what we get at the restaurant.

Even though we live 20 minutes away, this is our number one place. When we think of sushi rolls, we don't consider any other place. We come here immediately.

We live in NYC and visit N.C. two or three times a yr. Every time we visit, we go to Sushi Iwa a couple of times during our visits. The sushi is very good. One of our favorites is the Volcano Roll. Service is good. Can't go wrong with buy 1 get 1 free.

Excellent sushi spot

I placed a carry out order and the cashier decided they needed a $10 tip and took it upon themselves to add $10 to the total without my knowledge AFTER I left. Not only is that theft but fraud. Be careful, there is a thief that works there. They are not even worth 1 star.

Great food

We went on a Wednesday evening at 7:30p. They had the kitchen doors propped open and were cleaning the kitchen floors with a pungent lemon floor cleaner. The whole dining room near the kitchen doors smelled like lemon Lysol and dirty dish water. It was extremely unappetizing. What’s worse is when we asked our server to please close the doors, she did nothing. The doors were never closed and we simply had to eat our meal and try to ignore the smell.

This place litterally charges you a 7 dollar fee for them to punch your order into their POS. If you order online it's cheaper , something shady and off about this place.

Great place to grab sushi. They should cut down their sushi items, the menu is kind of overwhelming. But, buy one, get one free is pretty awesome.
