The sushi here was great. It was prepared fresh and quickly. The sake was delicious. The staff were attentive and a delight to deal with. We will certainly return.
I usually don’t post when a restaurant is poor but…. When you’re a Japanese restaurant and you do the following: don’t provide wasabi with a poke bowl, don’t provide any ginger, and provide Bigelow green tea package with warm water; then, I have to warn people.
Service was not memorable. No one is friendly.
First time visiting this restaurant (12/27). My first impression upon walking in the door is that this restaurant is tiny.....too tiny for me to stay and eat inside.
Ordered online, picked up my order and left. Had the Thai basil fried rice and the chicken satay with peanut sauce. The chicken satay was good but way overpriced at $9 for 6 small chicken skewers.
Was not a fan of the Thai basil fried rice.....certain things just should not be put inside fried rice. This restaurant put huge pieces of brocoli and green beans in the rice. $15 wasted.....if my son doesn't like it then to the trash it goes.
Worst fried rice that I've had in years!!! 2 stars for the chicken satay.
Came here for my company holiday party and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service! We all tried a bunch of the appetizers like:
Surin Basket- Loved this one, probably my favorite of the night
Chicken Larb- very good just really spicy!
Cheese rolls- not my favorite but if you like a lot of cheese or cream cheese you will love this
Basil Rolls- I usually love basil rolls but I didn't enjoy the pork inside them, it was a tad dry but the sauce for them was good
Satay- pretty tasty but a tad dry as well
Fried calamari- Was very good and was hot and fresh when we got it!
Now for my entree I played it safe and had the garlic lover's broccoli with chicken and enjoyed it immensely! I also had a spicy tuna roll and it was so good but was spicier than I expected lol would recommend if you love spicy food!
Overall, I would return and try more of the dishes as well as the sushi options as the menu was very large. The servers we had were very fast and super nice and they got us out of there in a timely manner.
Really loud. Hard to converse.

Very welcoming and friendly team. Excellent Thai food and crafted sushi rolls. We all very much enjoyed our meals etc.
Nice people
The food is amazing! I had the Masaman and it was spot on delicious! Everyone in the party enjoyed the food very much. I cannot wait to go back again. Lots of menu items to choose from.
Super speedy service and tasty food! We usually grab a few sushi rolls, a curry, and dumplings to split. Great for dine in and pick up.
Sushi is just so subpar. A spicy tuna roll at Publix is better. Third time trying this place, just don’t go for the sushi. Tuna is mush/blended/ rolls have no flavor or texture. Keep trying to like it but every time it’s just worse than premade grocery store sushi.
We will never order food from this place again. When it was in he house of ming it was decent. The food we ordered tonight was borderline inedible! The orange chicken was some shade of grey and tasteless with slivers of orange peels. The general tsoas chicken tastes more like orange chicken and was colored so close to orange chicken we were not sure which order was which. Both were bland! How do you get so bland with sauce all over it? The teriyaki steak my son ordered was terrible! Old shoe leather would be more tender. The entire order was grey and just a giant vein of fat. The carrots in that dish had less taste than a glass of tap water.
I don’t usually leave reviews but I am hoping to save someone else from wasting there money.
Been going here since it was Harry & Sons and this place does not disappoint. Everything on the menu is a 5 star. The spicy beef salad and red curry are 2 of my favorites. If your looking for a great atmosphere and a quality dish, look no further!!
Always a good time and great food!
Francis is funny as hell ❤️
My favorite sushi in ATL!
We use to go here all the time. But lately the quality has gone down. Fish was extremely smelly and we all got food poisoning.
I have given ocean wave a lot of grace over a recent span of time and have so much love for the restaurant that I have supported for many many years, but tonight was just too disappointing to ignore.
It is so hit or miss, I’ve had nights where it’s amazing within the past month. I went a few nights ago and had a piece of fish on my rainbow roll that was so tough and chewy it was inedible. Tonight my service was shockingly disappointing, the chicken on the chicken satay was rubbery and felt on the border of being under cooked. My pad see ew had black pepper all over the top, was oily, had small hunks of noodle, and was overall totally different than what I’ve ever had there in the past.
It was highly disappointing. My friends ordered another pad see ew and a pad Thai. Both were disappointed and the pad Thai did not come out a color I had ever seen.
I’m not sure if it was linked to a large amount of to go orders going out, but it was highly disappointing.
The sushi is the best... The only thing I have a complaint about is their entree sizes decreased after the name change
This is the sister restaurant to Surin of Thailand and I highly recommend both! Fantastic Pad Thai and Sushi. Atmosphere is casual - great for lunch or casual happy hour. Small location so you have to get early or wait but worth the wait!
Wow they fell off this was my favorite sushi and Thai food of all time I’ve traveled the world and it felt like nothing compared; they set the bar high…it’s been a minute like 6 months and they completely fall off, burnt food, small soft shell crabs, crispy duck taste like microwave and the manager had a lot of excuses instead of just saying my bad… he offered to reheat our cold plate … we’ve been here at least 20 times this was the worst and last😢 and the bartender is the worst i hate it because it’ was my favorite but will never be back!!!
Originally I gave this place 5 stars because it was our favorite... However, it has fallen off tremendously! And the manager would rather argue with you then rectify the piss poor food that they are serving. Negative 5 stars.... And after over 10 years of supporting them, even back when they were Harry & Sons, I refuse to spend money with businesses who make it obvious that they could care less about my overall experience and the product they are serving. Hopefully their sister property, Surin of Thailand does better or I'm done with them altogether because why spend my hard earned money on bad food and an even worse attitude. ✌🏾
Roach was in my food (the order itself was also incorrect, I ordered a crunch roll and received a rainbow roll-did not even mention this issue to server). Im not sure how the chefs or the server missed this as the bug was lying right on top, clear as day. Server was cool about it and handled it and made things right. It ended up taking a long time to correct and I was in a rush being on my lunch break. Definitely would not return.
3.5/10
Good food and quick service.
I called to place an order that I have placed many times before with a substitution but was yelled at and hounded by the bartender who continued to say that “I’m the problem”. He was incredibly rude and continued to yell at me on the phone the entire time. When I requested to speak to the manager he said “he’s not here and I’ve been here 30 years I don’t care if they fire me”. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I had to hang up the phone because he continued to yell and called back to request the manager.
This is one of go-to restaurants in the neighborhood. The food as well as sushi is good and the servers are friendly. We prefer sitting at the bar with Francis and/or Mien(sp?) who are very welcoming and make great drinks.
This has quickly become a go-to spot for sushi in my neighborhood. The menu is extensive so there’s always an opportunity to try something new and so far, everything I’ve ordered has been delicious. My only complaint is that I haven’t loved very many of the cocktails that I’ve ordered. They’re always incredibly strong (which is not always a complaint to everyone) but not to my taste personally. Otherwise, this is a restaurant that I recommend often and fervently.
This place is so cute!! The vibe is super good and the guy who served us was so personable and kind and funny! The food was incredible. Even the simple rolls are made super well!
We usually order a few apps and sushi. We have not been disappointed, the food is good. Staff is friendly and attentive. One of our go to spots.
Went in for lunch. It wasn't busy and we were able to order pretty quickly. I had the wonton soup and surin baskets for appetizers. Those are my favorites. The dancing dragon and volcano roll are tasty as well. I hate that you have to pay for parking but I guess it's ok.
Nice but relaxed atmosphere, great food! We had the negihama maki and fried rice - soooo delicious! Some of the best yellowtail I've had, very fresh and filled with flavor! Friendly and fast service, a great time and we will definitely be back!

Got invited by a couple of friends! Great atmosphere, everything we all ordered was very delicious. Showed up later than others, service was still very nice and accommodating.
Always good food and service. Martinis are great too, try the lychee Martini 🙂
Ocean Wave is no Harry's and Sons!! I have a 15+ year history with Surin's and Harry's and sons/OW... I basically lived at both of those spots. But what they are today, can't touch where they came from years ago. This used to be a premier spot for sushi, but not now. In addition to the very subpar Thai, and the not great sushi, was my wife watching a chef prepare sushi bare handed while the other two chefs wore gloves. This guy repeatedly grabbed salmon with his bare hands. No wonder there is a nice 87/B health score on the wall. I hate to give one my former favorites such a bad review, but I hope they read this and DO BETTER! My 3 star is being generous.
I was introduced to Ocean Wave by a buddy and I have loved it ever since. The food is outstanding as is the atmosphere. I usually sit at the bar and have my food there. I haven’t had a dish I didn’t enjoy. Francis the bartender knows his stuff and is always super cool and seems to love his job. I recommend Ocean Wave 100! I will definitely be going back.
This place is horrible. The food is disgusting and the customer service is trash. The manager literally argued with me over a kitchen mistake. Instead of correcting the issue they wanted to argue. I canceled the remained of my food, which was one $100 and left. I will never go here again, and if you are black I suggest you do the same. Definitely saw the manager help the white couple next to us with NO problem. Never again.
Wife and I were in the area and used to eat here back in the day college when it was called Harry and Sons. Happy to say the sushi was still amazing. We had the sushi combo #2, Japanese Old Fashion, Peach Martini, and the vegetable delight with chicken. Everything was great.
Great food. Will return.
I was on Saturday night in this restaurant. I like the food (very good) and the atmosphere but that night I don't know why the waiter was SO RUSH that he literally ripped the plate from us without almost finishing. I don't like that in particular, besides that the place was not so busy to be in such a hurry!
Ocean wave is not the wave. My sushi was so bad it makes me want to watch Oppenheimer again. If y’all want good sushi go to nakato, O-Ku, or any Mexican food place because surely even they have better spicy tuna. They got better sushi at Hartsfield-Jackson airport right now. Book a delta flight now, go to Publix, and go with god if you ever try to eat at this place.
Visited the restaurant w/ my lady and first contact w/ staff wasn't good. The female staff was culturally insensitive w/ a racial overtone. The restaurant wasn't crowded w/ very few customers and numerous open seating. She proceeded to escort us to the back of the restaurant in a corner. My lady was puzzled and I proceeded to question thr waitress' seating placement but she disappeared. We weren't going to sit there and didn't. When attempting to question a staff, one staff member/young man intervened and handled the situation properly. Respect!
However, if I had became culturally insensitive, I would have been the bad guy/disrespectful and probably the police would have been called and/or receive a disorderly conduct charge. If we are spending our money in your establishment then the owner/manager needs to make sure his/her staff understand transparency, respect for all customers and act accordingly w/ all people/races. Potential customers of color beware.
The food was delicious! Staff needs to understand their menu/how foods are prepared/on point descriptions when answering questions from guests.
Overall, we enjoyed it.
Best sushi ever!
Love the food & the atmosphere 😋. The only drawback is that we didn't order any alcohol drink but thai tea and water. On our receipt, they charge us for liquor tax & that's absurd.
Got the Pad See Ew and it was mediocre at best. Stingy with the meat, broccoli seemed like it was steamed separately from the noodles and just added in, and the sauce wasn’t particularly flavorful. Probably won’t be back
What a great experience. I joined friends for an evening out and they mentioned that this was their favorite sushi place. Well it's mine too! The sushi was incredible! The atmosphere and service were top notch. I can't wait to visit again.
I liked it. The drinks and sushi boats were good. Just don't ask for apple juice because they will give you a child's juice box.
Our favorite sushi place in town. A cute little restaurant with friendly staff and delicious food
What happened to this place? This is my first time visiting after maybe three years. After waiting about five minutes, my server came to the table and asked me what I would like. He didn’t tell me his name he didn’t greet me. He didn’t welcome me when I mentioned it to him, he gave me sarcasm. I ordered spicy Hamachi rolls which use to be my favorite. When I got it, It was sloppy and it didn’t come as it usually does with a small bit of Sriracha and green onions. I was given an overwhelming amount of Sriracha, followed by no green onion. The presentation and then environment wasn’t what it used to be. Even the Ginger changed from high-grade White to pink. If you eat sushi really good sushi you know this is a no no I’m wondering if they got any ownership. Even the reviews have gone from 4.7 to 4.4 I understand why. This is my go to place. I’ll probably won’t go back, especially when Fudo exists. Or wagaya midtown. Iykyk
Lovely inside dining experience - not too noisy for a conversation when sitting inside.
Excellent food and a nice little place to grab sushi or Thai food. Ask for the spicy sauce! The red curry dumplings are amazing!
This was a great find I was passing by and had to check it out cheese rolls and egg rolls were amazing cooked perfect crunchy but soft n flake made to perfection!!
Food is amazing here! Clean, nicely portioned, perfect flavors! Mmm! I got the 3 Flavored Fish meal and it was simple l, but so satisfying. Wife got the fried rice and it was a home run! Definitely eat here!
Francis took awesome care of me and my son. Great sake recommendation!
Came backs to my fav Atl. eatery, after 5 yrs;
Fo lunch no less :/
Their 2 fo $15 sushi roll deal still Rox! With comp.'d soup o course.
Inside vibe still mellow, chill, & relaxing.
It truly impossible to go wrong with anything off their menus.
I hold all other Penangs and Masaman's up to the H&S Standard. Dead Serious.
Their varying numerous sushi rolls come in WAY above avg as well.
Of course kick it off with one of their crafts (Hi-wire) or Thai Iced Tea.
Their bar bottle selection/ options look to have doubled since last time visiting. (c pic)
Welcomed immediately and seated by their mgr. Waitresses, Ann, also super nice sweet and helpful.
One of my favorite restaurants
The service is pretty bad one of the servers act as if he’s annoyed that you’re there,I won’t name him but he is easy to spot by the annoyance on his face, our drinks sat at the bar until they were no longer cold we were ignored most of the time we were seated and it wasn’t that crowded,I don’t understand management that instead of jumping in ,to stand by and let your business fail , be hands on and not stand around watching so you won’t receive reviews like this one and done
Service was terrible.
Did not have the sushi but the Thai food was not authentic. Not the same as the previous Harry and Sons restaurant.
Great sushi place. Food was tasty and good quality. Busy place
We've been going there every other week for a few years, great sushi and thai
Really liked the sushi from
ocean wave! We ordered takeout through their website, so can’t comment on the service, but the food is amazing.
If you’re a delivery driver, cancel and go somewhere else. These people are incredibly rude and they “pick and choose”…whose phone they wanna check to confirm orders. If you’re going to be racist, at least stand on it. Don’t be a coward with a fake smile.
The food was good, but not great. For the price it should have more flavor. Service was fast.
Always great sushi and thai food. One of my favs
Excellent! Great date night meal.
Nice place convenient
Food was good
Didn't realize there was a back room. Would have preferred to eat back there since we were sitting in the middle of the room right in front of the door. The food was really good, but didn't sit well when we got home 😞. Servers were patient. There were four kids to celebrate a 10 year old birthday. All the desserts were out, so that was a bit disappointing for her but we went to Morelli's so all was redeemed.
Love that I can order here again! I love the spicy beef salad and red curry potstickers. For rolls, I love the tiger maki and double shrimp roll. The combo with the spicy tuna and double shrimp combo is great for sharing. The sashimi is excellent quality fish. I loved the salmon. The wonton soup is also very good!!
My go to spots for sushi in Atlanta are 8 and Ok-U. I like these two because they’re authentic. This is my 3rd. Its not top-tier by any means but it’ll do. I usually order here when I don’t feel like driving and I get Uber Eats. For the sushi not being made by Japanese people, it’s decent I guess. I think I’ve had every roll now but my favorite is the lobster roll. I was surprisingly, very pleased. I’d order this again and again.
Food was cool. But I wanted tiger maki without the tuna and salmon that goes on top and I was told I couldn't get, that from the lady, without an extra charge. So they would charge me extra to remove toppings from the top. When I asked how much she said a price more than 5 bucks. Then she went to the back to see about an official price. Gone over 5 mins and I ask how much and she still didn't know. Very suspect. I just ordered the spicy shrimp which looked like a rip off once packaged up To-go.
This is one of our favorite sushi spots, the lychee and peach martinis are delicious and so strong, the sushi is super fresh and it’s not overpriced.
We normally order the spicy tuna, salmon nigiri, volcano or submarine rolls, edemame, and the egg rolls. Everything is so delicious. Service is consistent too. They rarely have a wait too!
After having all the same dishes in Florida from a Thai restaurant down there, i thought I loved it so much I'd try the same dishes at Ocean Wave. It just didn't compare. Ocean wave is kind of the checkers of Thai food and sushi. Won't go back.
I’ve eaten here probably 7-8 times and I will keep coming back. I love their appetizers and soups. Try the spicy coconut soup, really good. Entrees are good and affordable and sushi is fresh.. Drinks are also pretty cheap. Great spot for the money.
Fast friendly service and good sushi.
I have to say the food is really really good but the customer service sucks! I went with my family and this Asian lady was really rude. We really felt uncomfortable. The Food amazing but service horrible!
Not good at all and too expensive. I got the fried rice and it wasn’t well seasoned and the vegetables were cut so big it was hard to even eat. 15 bucks for a pint of fried rice when I can get so much more for my money at other Thai and Asian restaurants. There are much better Thai spots in the city like Thaicoon on Briarcliff Rd but they were closed on the night when I settled for this place. I will not be returning here.
First time visiting this restaurant (12/27). My first impression upon walking in the door is that this restaurant is tiny.....too tiny for me to stay and eat inside.

Worst fried rice that I've had in years!!! 2 stars for the chicken satay.
Loved the food and the homely vibe!
Sushi is not very good at all… definitely will go elsewhere for sushi. Can not vouch for the Thai
Best neighborhood sushi ever!!! Best cocktails and welcome energy from Francis. Always wonderful!!
In 20 + yrs never had a single bad dish.
This place is always amazing for their quality of food and welcoming staff..! Love it everytime I go..!!
Excellent pad see ew
Try the fried duck. The sushi dishes were pretty good (I moved 8 months ago and have not been back since I don’t expect the quality to change in that short period.)
Doesn't exist any longer
Great menu and variety.
Had the Dim Sum... soooo good and flavorful. I like that they have different types of combos and sushi boats (going back for one of them).
Hot sake is a staple but the drink menu has some good options.
Great food and nice atmosphere. Service was great too. I like how the server kept our table clean while we were eating by taking away empty wrappers.
This sushi was barely even mid. It’s not gross but it is not authentic. The rice is wayyyy too sweet and mushy. Spicy tuna was blah. I wouldn’t visit again. Their prices are out of line but I see this is the norm with Atlanta sushi
Awesome place
Delicious, fresh sushi, good service!
Best sushi in town. We routinely brave Friday rush hour traffic just to eat here.
Good food 😋
Lobster sushi roll was a hit! I wasn’t expecting so much meat on top but it was fresh and a compliment to sushi! We got the spicy tuna roll and volcano roll as well.
The margaritas were made from mix but were strong and tasted exactly how you’d expect.
I’m really glad to have found a new sushi restaurant with a nice balance of classic and creative rolls. The ingredients were fresh and I was impressed with each roll.
Service was great and we didn’t need a reservation despite it being 7:00pm on a Thursday.
Went here Friday night 7/1/2022 for dinner. We were seated but never served. We waited for a least 30 minutes before we decided to walk out and go across the way to Thailand restaurant. There were several people being seated and served. We felt like our money was not good enough. .
Excellent service and sushi! One waiter handling the busy lunch hour and to go orders we never lacked for water or our food. Wish I would have caught his name. Unfortunately we don’t live anywhere near here because this would be our to go to sushi spot.
We had the yellowtail and tuna nigiri. I had a roll but can’t remember the name at the moment. It was delicious! Definitely come here and give them your business!
Absolutely delicious! Good for date nights or small gatherings. A bit disappointed there were no gluten free beer or beverages available but would definitely go back as the food was absolutely amazing as well as the service.
I love Ocean Wave by Harry and Sons. I have been coming here for about 15 years and it is my favorite place for sushi. This last visit I switched it up and got Thai. I had the Thai beef Salad and shared a chicken larb with my companions. My salad was excellent, the dressing was superbly flavourful and the beef perfectly grilled. If you like Thai this is the same quality of their sister restaurant, Surin.
My dinning companions both had sushi and loved it.
The service was excellent as usual. We will definitely be back soon as this is one of our favorite restaurants.
Decent food. Some real good others no big deal. Waiter was overwhelmed and acted that way. Took away from the enjoyment of eating there.
Hands down, the best Thai food in Atlanta! I've been dining at this restaurant since it was Harry & Sons. I use to work in Midtown and it was conveniently located. I do live OTP, and I do my best to come here a few times a year. The food and service is always on point. Francis is the best bartender and I have really enjoyed talking to him and getting to know him over the past 10+ years.
Nice atmosphere and decent service
Absolutely wonderful food.
Not a lot of food but really high prices
Food very similar if not exactly the same as prior to remodle/name change. Food was very good, service was good. We sat at the bar
Best sushi I've had in Atlanta. Thai dishes are also very good.
The best sushi and cocktails 🍸
Very nice small quiet place for sushi. But I felt like everything I had was a little sweet in flavor, even the sushi.
I enjoyed my meal. I went around 12pm on a weekday. There were a few customers there and one waiter/bartender. Their service was very fast. I order the chicken pad Thai from the lunch menu, which was good! It was on the sweeter side but I enjoyed it and finished everything. I left felling full. My meal also came with a choice of 2 soups. I chose miso! I would definitely revisit!
Have been coming here for 20 years whenever I'm in Atlanta. Never disappoints. Wonderful pad thai
I ate here for the first time today.
The sashimi was very good!
The sushi was average. Really nothing special at all and the salmon in the sushi tasted like chlorine.
The reason why I leave this review is because of the extremely rude staff and the high price I paid in comparison to what I got. There are definitely better places in ATL.
This place is run by some kind people with some good food skills. The food is amazing and the prices are fair. Great place all around!
Good food & service
This place is amazing! The food is very good and the service is awesome! Highly recommended
Good sushi
The Love Boat is the thing to get here. I shared it with one other person and we were pretty stuffed so much so that we didn’t order anything else. The miso soup was not good. It was missing something but I can’t put my finger on what it was. The drinks were average. You have to pay to park but the cost isn’t anything outrage. The server wasn’t too friendly but she wasn’t rude either. She would quickly appear with your food and then disappear before you could ask her for anything else.
Our only go to for take out sushi in Atlanta. Always fresh and we love their huge selection of rolls. The Thai beef salad and basil rolls are also faves. So yummy!!
Felt so let down! We don’t order out a lot and for a family of 4 this was a title flop. Sushi didn’t not taste fresh. They forgot the white rice for the masaman curry. The flavor was really not there for us.
