On Sunday afternoon at lunch business was brisk with take outs,deliveries and few tables occupied.
Since new owner has introduced his cuisine and offering generous 20% off is a good attraction.
Paul,the server was very polite and efficient. We ordered Satay chicken, Tom yum soup to start and the soup was good portion with fresh veggies and slices of chicken but satay portion seemed bit small but tasty with peanut sauce.
Ambience during the day was okay as the management is presently more focused on food quality for the guests.
Main courses the portion look generous with more vegetables and less meat but presentation is pretty good.

Came for dinner with my family on a Saturday night and we are so happy to have found this gem! Everything was so delicious! Apps are unique and entrees an all time classic! We typically go to Elmhurst for some of the best Thai food in the city and have been disappointed by restaurants closer to us. Tharn Thai was a very pleasant surprise. I got my favorite Thai dish, Khee Mao, and it was delicious. My daughter loved her pineapple fried rice, and the spring rolls and mango sticky rice were yummy. Our waitress was a delightful person. We’re so happy that we now have great Thai food in our neighborhood. Kudos to Chef Ait!

We had a great experience at Tharn Thai! My friend was craving a Thai dish called lard na, but he didn’t see it on the menu. He asked if the kitchen could make it special for him and they agreed.

When it arrived, I could see why he was craving it. The main word to describe the dish is saucy. Wide rice noodles, Chinese broccoli, and chicken all smothered in a thick and savory sauce. My pad see ew with chicken was also amazing! I love how their version has a strong wok hei flavor and is generous with the Chinese broccoli.

The staff were so sweet. They even gave us some thai tea on the house. When my friend tried it he said “hmm this is how thai tea should taste”.

Come here for authentic Thai food!

You HAVE to try the larb here! The spices were amazing and the food was fresh. I especially liked the Miang Kham, which felt like a 3-course meal in your mouth with the flavor of toasted coconut, shrimp, and sweetness paired with lettuce crunch. Server was very kind and welcoming I appreciated her relaxing vibe. The food was let me tell you! Fresh! and Tasty! The only issue is noticeably no heat in restaurant seating area which as a result made me cold due to my seating location. Forest Hills has been longing for good Thai food, and finally Tharn Thai has arrived!

The staff is just lovely, while chatting we found out that is run by family and friends and we chatted with the mom and son.

We started out with the Money Bags. Fried crispy exterior filled with flavorful chicken, corn, peas corn and onion and served with a homemade chili sauce. It was a great start to dinner.

For entrees we got the Phat See Ew with Pork and Phat See Mao with chicken. Both dishes were fantastic, so well balanced and the flavors were top notch. The Phat See Ew had a hint of sweetness, but savory at the same time. The Phat See Mao, had a lovely heat, while not overpowering you still the heat, but are able to really taste the dish.

Came in on a rainy Wednesday , and was pleased by the friendly service. We had the crab rangoon which was light and crunchy with delicious crab filling and for the main I had the beef khao soi and my husband had the shrimp. Both were equally delicious and presented beautifully. We will definitely be back again.

We ordered a take out so this review is only for food. We ordered four items: basil beef, garlic and pepper beef, massaman curry and egg fried rice. We could not tell the difference between the first two. They looked and smelled exactly the same. The photo you see is the amount of carrots in those two dishes. So we paid about $40 for a meal that consisted of %50 of carrots. We eat Thai food frequently and have never had such low quality food to the point that it feels like scam. Fried rice smelled like old oil and was pretty flavorless. Massaman curry was edible but too sweet. I don’t write reviews normally but felt that this needed to be shared.

From the outside, Tharn is very unassuming. The inside is nice and cozy, and on a Saturday night, as I write this, smooth jazz is playing.

Food is the owner’s #1 priority since opening three months ago, and wow, they know exactly what they’re doing. The quality here is nothing short of excellent. New York isn’t known for its Thai food the way Boston is, but this restaurant is up there (if not above) Boston’s best.

Since discovering this place two weeks ago, this is our fourth time coming here in fourteen days. Every time I have ordered something different on the menu, and not once have I been disappointed.

Apps: try the Moo Ping, Soft Shell Crab Papaya Salad, and Chicken Larb. Even if they’re a little out of your comfort zone, you will not regret it.

Mains: the best Massaman curry I’ve ever had. Highly fragrant and complex, it’s worth the trip out if this is your favorite curry. Their Pri Khing (with your protein of choice) is phenomenal. I’ve also had their pad see ew and pad Thai, and they’re both excellent.

The waiters are exceptionally kind and attentive.

If you are a fan of Thai food and live nearby, you’re doing yourself a disservice by not visiting this restaurant.

I came here about a week ago and I cannot emphasize how amazing the service here is. It's all family here and they really care about the folks coming in. The host/server goes beyond to accommodate and is just extremely friendly. I was extremely blessed that I was given a Thai iced tea on the house while I waited for my large order. I thought it was so delicious that I asked to order one and they gave a second a one! I couldn't believe the service.

Now onto the food. I ordered crab rangoons, chicken satay, beef crispy pad Thai, chicken pad Thai, tom yum soup, and mango sticky rice. It was just absolutely phenomenal with very reasonable costs. I ended up ordering delivery the next day. This is my new go-to Thai spot around here!

Ok I had to come back an re write the review because I left out something I couldn’t leave out. 1st Extremely nice people, the Pad Thai was as close as it gets to when you order in Thailand. The Thai Ice Tea was perfectly blended. Last but definitely not least, I been to Thailand and ate mango sticky rice in different places that was hard to compete with. That being said this place has the best MANGO STICKY RICE I’ve ever tasted. The words that literally came out of my mouth after the 1st bite was, “ O these people showing offf”. You have to try it!!! Would definitely come back unfortunately I live in Jersey so it won’t be as frequent as wanted.

I don’t usually write reviews for any restaurant but this cuisine was amazing! The food was 10/10, I tried the beef bbq and my partner tried the tharn Thai pork and it was so delicious! I however also went for dessert which was mango sticky rice (thank you to a TikTok name Aiyanna) and it was delicious, it wasn’t super sweet but wasn’t either too plain! In additional the 20% discount that they have going on! I will definitely go back! Most important is the service! I LOVEDDDDDDD THE SERVICE, the greeting when walking to a restaurant and making you feel like a home! Thank you to the waiters and the cooks for making delicious food cooked perfectly but with love and quick! I definitely recommend it!

Pork skewers, pineapple fried rice and khao soi were lovely the first time around. Also got the spicy pork larb salad and it did not disappoint. Price point is reasonable, servers are kind, and the ambiance is super nice and intimate. Would recommend!

Came here with my sister. The ambiance here is nice. The woman who served us was very polite and friendly. She was attentive and pleasant.

Food was delicious! My sister had green curry and I had the chili basil noodle. Both were so fresh! Very worth the price, the flavors are balanced. We will be back! Planning to bring our mom! Please come try!

The owner, chef, everyone is the restaurant is super friendly and nice. The dishes are really good, they made it in the traditional way. The restaurant is only a bit more than a week old but had chance to talk to the owner and chef. They have being chef for 17,18 years! Highly recommended!
