I used to love this place when it first opened. Their panang curry was my favourite. Portion size was great, rice was cooked perfectly and customer service was friendly. I understand they increased their prices since then but I am sad to say that the taste and portion size have gone south so much I don’t think I can ever order from them again. The curry bowl used to be almost twice as big and it was filled with chicken, bell peppers and bamboo shoots. Now they took away the bamboo shoots and this time I only found a few slices of chicken and peppers in my order, it was outrageous. I used to be able to have one order of panang curry for lunch and dinner with a bit of additional rice, now it’s barely enough for one meal. The curry used to thicker and had a memorizing coconut aroma to it and now it’s just diluted and oily. I won’t be coming back again despite being a regular since they opened. I am truly heartbroken to see my go-to Thai place turn out like this.
Chicken pineapple fried rice was crucified, cashews were dark brown/black, the bitter char flavour went through the whole dish making it inedible……terrible waste of $12.50. DO NOT recommend, at least the new world mall location. The tiger sugar booth next door healed my trauma, THAT was excellent XD
Note for future self: don’t order food from this stall- stick with just the Thai iced tea. Ordered a basic chicken pad Thai and it was borderline inedible with how sickly sweet and heavy the sauce was. Could only get through three bites until tossing it into the trash, which is disappointing since it was over $10. The Thai iced tea was fine.
The Pad Thai was delicious and the price is unbeatable. Confused by the bad reviews complaining about value and portion sizes. Compared to other Thai restaurants, this was a tasty deal. They didn’t skimp on the ingredients and it was flavorful.
The crispy chicken app is TINY like a half a handful of small pieces of chicken. When they sell the same thing a couple stalls over a dollar more and 3x the serving. That's what I get for trying a different spot. I was going to go back to try something else another time too because I love Thai food until I saw that I paid $6 for less than one chicken cutlet. Also when you send fried chicken to go it goes in a container that doesn't close and they put it in a soup container half filled with wet lettuce so I got soggy gross expensive fried chicken and now I have to go buy myself real food.

Food is ALWAYS fantastic! Great venue to get fast Thai food while on the go or dining in the Mall area!

Food is better Bonchu Elmhurst’s
My Pad Thai was way too sour, almost uneatable. Small portion sizes.
Small chicken in curry and service was bad kept ignoring
I kept coughing as soon as I put the Pad Thai near my mouth, way too potent. Food wasn’t really good, it was a good amount tho. Also they charge extra for an extra plate.
I'm so so SO thankful I ignored these low ratings and tried it for myself. Came here bc they do a completely vegetarian curry and fried rice and let me tell you it is FIRE.
I ordered delivery through Uber eats. And the first time they cancelled my order. After waiting almost an hr. I have them another try since it had 4.5 stars on Uber. And this was the most mid Thai I ever had. Street food? This truly belongs on the street in a dumpster. Do not order from here. They put no love into the food.
This was my go to Thai spot during my lunch breaks because it's located the closest to my work place. I've tried a couple of items from their menu - panang curry, pad thai, pad ki mao, spring rolls, pad see ew, etc. Pretty much the basics. Each experience was fine and the food was great. However, the last time I went, the older man that took my order was rude and didn't seem to understand customer service. He seemed upset that my meal was less than $12 because that is the card minimum, so I added like $2 of extra meat to meet the min. When I went to get my takeout order, he didn't bother acknowledging me even though my food was ready in the bag on the front counter with my number on it. I waited because I didn't want to grab my food since everywhere else I go, the cashiers hand me my order. I ended up taking it myself after 10 minutes of him trying to avoid eye contact and my lunch break was almost over. Mind you there was only one other customer there and he acted like he was so busy. Sure the food may be good but having worked in a restaurant myself customer service MATTERS. I'm never coming back and will be trying other Thai places :)
Ordered Pad Prik with Beef and Chicken.
And it only came with Beef and no Chicken. Also waited for almost an hour for the food to finish.
I paid extra for Chicken. Not coming back again.
The guy spoke to me in Cantonese only. I don't speak it, and if you know the Cantonese #2 sounds like Mandarin #1. Causing an uncomfortable experience for me I rather much avoid. I will just go to another place next time where I can do in English and Mandarin if needed. $12 CC policy and him speaking Cantonese only are enough to cause an unwelcoming experience.
My food was good and delicious. If the ordering experience was better I'd come back next time.
He also called out the order numbers in Cantonese only, I don't appreciate that.
This is the only local Thai resataurant near my place now so i have no other choice then to go to this place. Before this restaurant opened up , there was another Thai restaurant there . It used to be so good but now this new one opened up . Boon Chu has great customer service but the food is not delicious. At first i thought it was just that one day (maybe the chef had a bad day) and then i went again to give it another chance . Alas, The food was once again not good. I even went a third time hoping if i tried a different entree it might be better but no, it was still bad. I am now done with this place.
Food is bad, I actually couldn't finish my drunker noodles
The food is pretty good, but I also feel I need to comment on the customer service today on Sunday, 07/09. The young lady in a grey shirt and shorts could use a bit of hospitality training. I felt a sense from her energy that she was very impatient and a bit awkward in our interaction when there was no one else behind me to feel the need to be rushed. I was trying to figure out how what to order and having a conversation with her to figure out what I order with my fried rice and just sensed she had very little patience answering questions. I was very civil and polite. When I went to pick my order I said thank you a couple of times to which I definitely know she heard and it just seemed she intentionally did not want to see your welcome. I had no idea what her problem was.
Ordered Pennang curry. Very flavourful. Loved the food and service.
Delicious delicious delicious. For the quality you get it's worth it. Remember it's authentic Thai food by Thai people who encourage you to speak to them in Thai.
A rice dish is about $10 which is on par with rice dishes. Come try them it's worth it. None of that cheap garbage most of the other stalls have that are unsanitary and oily.
I will 100% come back. Don't be cheap. Even your bus ticket isn't .35 cents anymore.

Was really disappointed by the pad grapow. Grapow is named after a special fragrant type of Thai basil called grapow. It's supposed to be the main flavor and I couldn't taste it at all.
First time order from the restaurant, the order taker was very polite, I ordered my favorite food green curry chicken, found it's too sweet, and they only put basil, a few slices of green pepper and a shredded bamboo shoots, normally green curry should have more kinds of vegges like bean sprout, fried tofu etc. a little disappointed. be careful the package of the order since they use paper bag, mine was broken on the way back to the office. if you order soup food like curry you have to be very be careful.
I love this place. This is one of the only reasons I go to NWM food court. The price and portion is great compared to other Thai places that charge 17$ for the same portion and less flavorful food! I have mostly had the curries here, the panang curry with tofu is my favorite. The tofu is fried but doesn’t taste fried, has a nice texture and soaks up the curry sauce beautifully. The green and red curries are good too but the bamboo shoot flavor comes out a lot. The crispy chicken is so salty and crispy, really packs a lot of flavor. The chicken is dark meat but it’s not gamey at all! The employees here are always nice which is a special treat when ordering in Flushing😂. I plan to come here again and again!
I had the shrimp pad thai combo 4 with spring rolls and thai iced tea. It was not very good. There was oil pooled at the bottom of the noodle dish and the rolls were soft and mushy on the inside. The meal left a bad after taste. The only good thing was the thai iced tea.
Pad thai no good.
It’s tasty but pricey, takes a long time. What gets me is the food is swimming in a puddle of oil in the takeout container which is kind of gross, I wouldn’t be back anytime soon, I miss Thai express.
Some of the best thai food if not best I’ve had in NY
Ate from here a couple times and although it can get very busy during lunch time I had good experiences.. until today. I ordered pad Thai with shrimp and it straight up smelled like toilet and eggs were all burnt. What happened? 🤢
I had the Green Curry, shrimp rolls and papaya salad. The Green Curry was Outstanding!! The broth was well seasoned, the vegetables julienned just right and the heat just right! The Shrimp rolls were great! Papaya Salad was alright and not too spicy. I would Definitely eat there again! Staff was courteous and accommodating!
It's a must try.
太慢了,前台不知道自己在干什么,明明菜已经好了,但是一直不拿过来。根本不知道出的是什么菜。
I got a totally different order.
Good food & friendly service.
Best Thai food in flushing.. 4.5 star
I ordered pad kra pow today, the minced meat taste is good but unfortunately the rice feel like it is not fully cooked :(
Located within the New World Market Food Court.
Friendly staff and quick service. Food was flavorful and seemed authentic.
However, for the price, portion size was quite small. Prices were high for Flushing, and even higher for food court!
Several other places nearby with more reasonable prices.
The smell walking by is amazing you alrdy know the meal is gonnna be good. Friendly staff and looks clean back there
This used to be Thai Express, which is my go to Thai food, however, Thai Express permanently closed due to the Covid Pandemic, which is sad. However, once this stall open up, I ate the Thai Food over the new one, and my god, it was so good. I order Chicken Pad Se Liew and Chicken Red Curry, and it was so delicious that I want to go there back and forth for Thai Food. Not only that the person who are working there are so nice and friendly towards the customer. This stall deserve a praise for the food so delicious and the staff and people working there are so nice and awesome.
It used to be THAI EXPRESS but closed during pandemic. Food is super awesome. I hope it maintain it's quality and thrive!
