Out of all the Asian food options in this area, Bangkok Tokyo truly stands out. This is my family’s favorite spot so far; I doubt any other restaurant here can match its genuine flavors. I give it a 5/5 for both food quality and service. I highly recommend it to anyone new to the area—your taste buds will thank you!

The prices being around 15$ each scared me but the portion size was generous and filled us both up quickly with leftovers, the taste was better than we expected, and the waiter checked on us in a proper time without being too much. If you want pho or pad Thai this will adequately satisfy your cravings!

I've eaten a lot of egg drop soup in my time. When I tell you this was probably the best egg drop soup I've EVER had! Everyone was very nice. My steak was super tender and everything was delicious!

Had Hibachi salmon dinner with egg drop soup, egg rolls, and Thai iced tea. Everything was perfect!

Don't waste your money here. First of all the sign outside says it's a Chinese restaurant and there's no hot and sour soup, just the nasty Thai version of hot and sour soup. I don't like that type because it tastes like vinegar and tofu. Take the Chinese off the sign if you're not going to serve Chinese food. The yakitori? the chicken was questionable. It looked barely cooked. I didn't like it. I also didn't like the egg rolls. I told them I didn't like the food I took one bite of each food and they charged me full price anyway. The restaurant was clean I can't complain about that and the server was really nice. They should turn this into a Chinese restaurant or put more Chinese menu items on. So yeah save your money, don't go to this place.

The green curry was amazing!! Some of the best I've ever had and a generous portion and I had leftovers.
We also ordered the gyoza, egg rolls, hibachi steak, and hibachi chicken and shrimp and everything was delicious and reasonably priced.
The waitress was very attentive, funny, and gave great service.
We will definitely be back!

Food was buns

When we got there they told us it would be an hour wait because they were understaffed in the kitchen. But I really didn't take them very much longer than normal and the food was delicious. Vegan options available.

This was my go to spot when I was stationed at Holloman. Food is amazing and my usual server Anthony is the GOATTT. Still haven’t found a place that tastes like it yet

The restaurant looks rundown from the outside, but it was reasonable on the inside.

Great asian food in general. We ordered a medley of Thai curry, Pad Thai, and Pho which were all really great! They can get busy during dinner time so go early!

Was staying at the White Sands and strolled over here for dinner. The interior is pretty plain, but the food was great. I had the tempura combo which was done just right, and the chicken pad thai. It was about $30 for those and a fountain soda; may be a little higher than in ABQ, but reasonable. The floor staff was remarkably polite and professional for being fairly young. I would not hesitate to go back.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise, this place served authentic Thai food and Chinese (that's what we ordered) but we saw other tables get really good looking Pho. Turns out the chefs are half Japanese and half Thai (hence the name). The food was spicy and tasty. We had a mic of vegetarians, vegans, and meat eaters and they did a wonderful job catering to all our requests. They were short staffed so we had to wait a little bit but the service was still very courteous and on point. I wasn't expecting just great Asian food in Alamogordo!

They even let us pack the amazing chilli oil (made by Grandma) and the chilli powder,

If I ever come back to Alamogordo I'm eating here.

The BEST and most authentic Thai food in Alamogordo and surrounding areas. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh. It’s run and owned by a family who are so sweet. We love going here. Even the onion soup (probably the most basic on the menu) is so delicious and flavorful. Highly recommend!

My family and i thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. We walked over from the motel next door. We had the Thai peppers and steak, chicken pad Thai, edamame, spring rolls and gyoza. This place hit the spot, and the young man providing service was excellent.

A few issues here: the waitress was hard to find and we were the only patrons for lunch that day. She also gave unsolicited personal information to us and that was disturbing to us. However, the real issue was that my ordered dish when it arrived, I could smell a strong odor of fish. As I am highly allergic, I asked the waitress to find out I there were any fish products used to prepare the dish. She was able to ascertain that indeed there had been fish products used. I let her know that I could not eat it. Sadly, no offer came to cook another dish and I was charged for it anyway. We paid the bill, but we vowed we would not be back. As a consultant to business owners, I identify this behavior to be of an owner has checked out and is waiting to be forced to close.

The Pho is bomb

Walked over here from the motel shortly before closing and they still took my order. It was excellent especially for the price, which I thought was very reasonable. Ordered the tonkatsu chicken and pork fried rice. Both were really good. I could see some not liking the fried rice as it was slightly on the oily side but I loved it.. good combo of egg, onion, pork, and rice mixed together. I may come back here tonight despite the other options in the area.

An incredible gem of a restaurant in a very unassuming place. Amazing food! The pad Thai is to die for, with a simple and relaxing interior, and very nice staff this place is my favorite place to go In Alamogordo.

This place really surprised me. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai at spice level 10. Was absolutely delicious. Not too much sauce like many places, chicken was grilled perfectly, spice level was on point. They used whole dried chili peppers not flakes. I absolutely loved it.

I ordered a shrimp fried rice to go for dinner later on and it was also delicious. Shrimp grilled perfectly, rice is seasoned very well and not just a bunch of filler either. Perfectly saute onions and broccoli.

I would definitely recommend this place.

Service was fantastic and attentive, portion size it great, I got the Pho and it was some of the best pho I've had in a while. I highly recommend and will be back again.

Red curry is perfection

We had a Pad cashew and Pad peppered, super oily and very salty, everything was literally swimming in oil, if it was less oily and a bit less salty it would actually be pretty good, oh and there was very little meat. Fried calamari was one of the worst appetizers I've ever had. I like supporting small businesses but I don't like spending 45$ for such a low quality food.

Excellent food, wonderful folks! Always a delicious meal dine in or takeout. The Thai rice is delicious, don’t forget a squeeze of the lemon they provide to make the dish really pop!

Their beef pho is something my husband and I constantly crave. We have not found it better in any other city we've been too. It is so darn good! Truly the best in town. It is... pho-nomenal. Those other phos... pho-get about it! Seriously though, their other stuff is fantastic too. We haven't had a thing we didn't like so far. Be patient, they are short-staffed, but so polite and well worth the wait!

Don't let the exterior appearance scare you away from the deliciousness inside. We almost made that mistake, but were so happy we didn't! My wife and I shared the pineapple fried rice and the green curry, both with tofu, along with the spring rolls and a pot of jasmine tea. Everything was delicious and our server couldn't have been nicer. We loved this place.

The food is so good! From the Pho to the Pineapple Fried Rice. The Thai tea is so delicious. And the staff is so friendly. Highly recommend stopping by this little gem. It is absolutely worth it!

This is a great little restaurant. The yakitori is excellent, and the vegetable pad Thai among the best I've eaten.

The ambience is quiet, simple & spacious, and the music really IS background music at low volume.

The building may be old and not in the best shape, but the food is delicious! I would definitely eat here again.

Great food and awesome service; however I call for takeout and the phone gets picked up 1 time out of 10. I dont think it is a problem with the staff not answering it, the phone just keeps ringing until oblivion

So this used to be one of my favorite spots, because portions were generous, it was good, and it was fairly priced. Ordered takeout of our 3 favorite entrees and hit with shock at the 50+ dollar tab. No extras ordered, just 3 meals. Two pad thai's and a fried rice. 52 bucks and change. Got home and then saw the shrinkflation in full effect! No soy sauce and no fortune cookies either! Food is still good but it ain't that damn good.

I've been here once for dinner, and would highly recommend it! My meal was delicious, especially the onion soup! Everyone there was very friendly, helpful, and pleasant. I'm looking forward to coming in for dinner the next time I'm in Alamogordo so I can try more of their menu!

Third visit was successful. I had Chicken Pho for the first time. It was good but not among my favorite meals. I may try something else another time but I doubt I would order another Pho dish. Good and filling but not among my favorite flavors.

My go to place for Asian food. Crazey as it sounds I normally don't comment on bathrooms. This one was ok but could be better. I've learned a long time ago not to complain about things until you have a solution (pun intended). I know it's hard to get people to step up to the plate for the dirty jobs, call me!

This restaurant is short staffed as posted at the entrance so the service is a bit slow, but as we tasted the meal, the waiting was totally worth it! All of the three items are really good. I asked our server and learned that the chef is his Thai grandma. No wonder the food is so authentic and really tasty!

I have been to Thailand many times for many months and to find this Gem in the middle of the high desert is awesome. The prices, service and food are all great! If in Alamogordo this is a most go to!!!!

The place seems a little run down, ...BUT great service and good food.

As a Southeast Asian, the food was great! We get padthai and it was delicious. One note is that they a little bit short staff when we came and forget to get our order. But they were really thoughtful after that. We add chili oil to the padthai and it tastes great! 😋

Love the food here. We’re addicted to the: Pad Khee Mao, Yellow Curry, and Beef Pho. Can’t go wrong! Very nice people working there too. Thai ice tea is great too!

Don’t expect/judge this place on it’s Initial appearance. The chef is legitimately from Thailand and the food is probably the best orient cuisine within 45-1hr away.

I like the diversity of options, and I really liked their food (the pho was some of the best I've had). They have several other things I'd like to try. I have been back a few times. The rolls I have tried were all good and their NY strip/shrimp lunch special also very good. I've tried their pork tonkatsu, also very good as is their kyosa. Excellent option for Asian.

Great service and food

I ordered the beef pho, salmon sushi and dragon roll sushi. Come in hungry, expect nothing, you'll be surprised! I loved my visit and will be coming back for more! Service was excellent, attentive. There's smell because of all the foods. Thank you for the experience!

That’s the story of Bangkok Tokyo in the middle of Alamogordo in New Mexico.

If you are coming to White Sands National park and tired of heat and sand, ditch the row of industrialized fast food joints and try any Thai dish here (only mentioned Thai because did not try Japanese or Pho).

I have been to at least fifty Thai restaurant across this country and this will be in the top five for sure. Thank you for the great food.

This place was so good. We enjoyed the dinners and bantering with owner and wait staff. The dinners were perfect. I had steak and shrimp. Couldn't eat it all, so it was perfect for lunch the next day. Gotta work through the menu any try all of items.

I like the food here, but their staff is unfriendly and never answer the phone when I try to place an order for pick up. I want to give this place a better review because I think their food is good, but unfortunately I can't do that until they are a bit kinder and more considerate. I understand not acting like a kissass and I'm not asking to be treated like a prince, but I would like to feel at least sort of welcome in an eating establishment.

This is likely my favorite place in Alamogordo to eat. I get the Pho and my husband gets the curry. It's like heaven in a bowl. It takes with the better places I ate at in London.

I took my kid to the Alamogordo zoo today and he wanted some noodles. Found Bangkok Tokyo on Google and ordered Pad Thai, beef fried rice and Tomyum soup. I was impressed and would highly recommend it for anyone visiting Alamogordo.

Bangkok Tokyo is the superior of all Asian restaurants in the area. They have INCREDIBLE pho, and I’ll never forget it for as long as I live 😭💜

Good value for the buck. Lacking in service skills a bit.

It's a small restaurant that looks kinda sketch on the outside but is really home-y when you go in. Definitely go for the dragon roll. The eel sauce is sweet and the waiter sets bottles of sriracha and extra eel sauce in case you want to use it on another dish. The portions are large too, so a small Pho is actually an extra large bowl.

It was nice and food was fresh

Food is amazing and to top off our server David L made sure we had everything we needed with out being asked. Our cups were always full! I’ve been here many times but David is by far one of the best servers I’ve had!
