Authentic Thai Food
We have eaten dinner here several times and never been disappointed.
The restaurant is tastefully decorated and there is a nice ambiance. It's not very large, so I imagine it can get noisy on Friday and Saturday nights. But we eat here only Mon-Thurs and on Sunday, and it's nice and quiet.
The food is absolutely amazing. Always fresh and delicious, nice and hot, and huge portions. Plus the prices are very reasonable. Service is also very good. Since this is a BYOB we enjoy bringing our own wine here.
On our last visit the fried chicken/shrimp dumplings were wonderful, and the shrimp and broccoli with peanut sauce was amazing. The jumbo shrimps were tender and perfectly prepared, and the steamed broccoli was done just right. The side of fried rice with added meat was huge and very tasty.
There is a free parking after 6 pm at a lot right across from the restaurant, but even on a weekday it can be tough to find a spot. However there are large paid municipal parking lots only a few blocks away.
This is a very enjoyable place to have Thai cuisine, and is definitely one of the best Thai restaurants we have been to. We recommend this place to our friends.
One minor issue: There is no vestibule, so on a cold winter day if you sit on the right side of the restaurant (facing from the street) you will feel a cold blast of winter air every time someone opens the door (happened to us on our last visit). So when you make a reservation in the winter you may want a table that is on the opposite wall away from the door.
Regardless of what others say, please still give this place a chance if you are in the area. We didn’t feel rushed, the food wasn’t mushy - it was delicious, and the portions were perfect.
My boyfriend and I got Tom yum soup with shrimp and that was so good! We slurped it up in minutes. We also got noodles and the portion was good, food was good, we felt it had enough protein. He also got the coffee which was delicious! Looking forward to returning.
Just moved in from JC hence the standard is still kept high on the Asia food. Tried Drunk noodle in many places in JC and NYC but first time had such sweet taste. The rice noodle is above average to be frank but the sauce is very thick and overwhelming which completely covered the taste of the noodle. For lunch it might be okay but body can’t afford it for dinner.
Just got home from a delicious family dinner at Nakorn and had to come on and write about it… which is VERY rare for me.
First, the restaurant is stunning and so clean. The entire staff was warm, welcoming and were kind enough to hide a surprise birthday cake for my cousin (and served it later with a song and candles!)The food was awesome and the courses came out quickly… but we never felt rushed.
All in all a lovely evening at Nakorn and we will definitely be taking a drive back to see them again and again!
Nice place and great food! All the staffs are really nice! We had a birthday party on the Tuesday night and the owner always kind and help us a lot! Thank you💝 we love all the food. All my friends love curry puffs with ajad sauce. So good. I love this place. Will be back soon. 🙏🏻
I would give them zero stars, but that’s not possible so I give them 1. The service here is absolutely horrible! They are very racist and we booked a reservation 5 days in advance telling them that we have about 7 kids with us. The staff was incredibly unprofessional and downright rude from the moment I walked in. We have a child with special needs with us too. They were making disgusted faces at him, which was not acceptable at all! From the start, they have been acting very weird. The waiter acted like I was interrupting her day. No smile, no pleasantries—just a complete lack of basic customer service. They had a lot of attitude which was also very unprofessional.
After we complained to them, they didn’t even have the audacity to say sorry! We advise everyone to not come here. I’m all for local spots, but this place has some serious work to do when it comes to both professionalism and customer service. If you don’t want people “like us”, maybe put a sign outside that you don’t serve them. Save your time and money—there are much better options nearby.
Food and service was awesome! This thai resto is new but is making the right moves! Include the descent interior design of this resto. Feels like your on a fine dining resto, the food presentation is also neat. Accepts credit/debit card. High chair available. See image and video for further reference. Paid parking infront. Bathroom is clean and smells good
Recommend!!! True Thai flavor
Not kids friendly restaurant, so if you are going with your kids, will recommend don’t waste your time. The staff is totally u professional.
Horrible , racist and rude to customers especially to the family with kids that also with an autistic kid. This is not a family friendly place to dine in, they were rushing us to order and were rude towards the kids. When we spoke to them about our experience with them zero empathy or accountability from their side. Horrible customer service!!!! Never recommending this place to anyone !!!
This place deserves zero star. Staff is racist, nasty and inconsiderate. We made reservations for a big party ahead of time with kids but they were so rude and wanted to us to make my special needs nephew to stop crying which is out of our control and the poor kids control. They created so much tension that we didn’t feel comfortable ordering food and had to leave. We notified the staff about the issues but they didn’t even apologize once after learning about the kids situation. Don’t give business to such racist and inconsiderate people.

This is a quaint little place. Food was very good (especially the calimari appetizer). Service was very good. Unfortunately there is only a curtain separating the kitchen and dining room and it was distracting to hear all the clatter from the kitchen. I was there on a Sunday evening. I had the Pad See Ew and later that night I had violent vomiting from what I believe was food poisoning. I cannot be 100% sure it was from here, but I had eaten the EXACT same foods as my husband from Friday evening until that dinner (he had the pineapple fried rice with chicken). He did not get sick. I called the health department and they did a surprise inspection and everything seemed ok. I also spoke with the owner who could not have been more gracious. He refunded the cost of my family's meal and seemed genuinely concerned and sorry I had become ill. I give them three stars for this reason. It could have been a bad delivery they received.
Excellent food, spectacular flavors, good service and a beautiful restaurant.
Very cute ambiance, good food and good price
Best new-ish Thai restaurant around. Having been to Thailand, I know the pad Thai at Nakorn is authentic. Every dish we have ordered has been fresh and delicious. Don’t miss the crispy duck salad. Nwkorn has become one of our go to local restaurants.
The best Thai place I've been to by far.
Just got home from a delicious family dinner at Nakorn and had to come on and write about it… which is VERY rare for me.

This was one of our fav spots for Thai, but I think we are never going back. Very disappointed with the food & the service tonight. Two of us decided to order the Panang Avocado Salmon which was listed as one of their signature dishes. While the curry was flavorful, the salmon was inedible.it was frozen for god alone knows how long. The fish had freezer burn, was stale, dry and chewy and was smelly. Cardboard would have tasted better. The least a restaurant can do while charging $35 for a single piece of salmon is to use fresh fish. We politely informed the server that the fish is really bad. Instead of empathizing, the server justified the dish and the taste of the stale fish. We left without a scene. And did not leave a tip. Very very disappointed.
Solid!! Their noodles and sautés are awesome!
great salmon panang curry

Excellent food. Great service.
Great food- service was good. But constantly felt like they were trying to get us to leave and it was not even 9pm. Staff leaving, taking garbage out, turning lights off, we got the hint!
Кухня не дотягивает до более простых азиатских ресторанов.
Маленькие порции для таких цен, зеленый чай из пакетика $5🤪
I'm so happy that Summit has a Thai restaurant again and it's one of the best I've ever had. Of course all the Pad Thai is delicious whether you want tofu, chicken, or shrimp, but the real treat is the Green Curry. You have to try it. We'll be back again and again.
Chicken Pad Thai contained 3 small pieces of chicken and the noodles were mushy. I won't be coming back to this establishment. I called and they insinuated that I was lying.
Pad see ew, pad Thai, green curry, pork chop are all delicious. Desserts are good too. Thank goodness Summit has a Thai place again, and a good one!
I'm really glad to see a Thai place open in Summit.
We’ve ordered here a bunch of times now and everything is so flavorful and delicious. Drunken noodle and chicken sate are some of our faves!
On Mother's Day our family (8 people) went to Nakorn Thai restaurant in Summit for lunch. We had reservations.
Food was delicious BUT ...
We had a server who was lovely and took our orders and all was good. Then the food started arriving and someone else was bringing it from the kitchen.
Grandma and Grandpa received a bowl of something but did not receive a spoon so asked for one. Then when he came back they asked him for another bowl to share something. When he brought it back they asked him for a spoon for that bowl. And he lost his temper at them and full on started screaming at them. 'Why don't you ask for everything at once? Why do you keep sending me back and forth? Don't you see I'm busy. I don't have time to do this blah blah blah and on...'
I was on the other side of the table so I didn't even realize what was happening until I heard him screaming. I got up and proceeded to tell him he was out of line and to stop speaking to them that way and get me the manager and he actually snapped back at me. He actually turned around and screamed at me as he walked away.
The assistant manager came over and was very nice and tried to pacify us but mostly was making excuses for him and her efforts were all in trying to get me to be quiet and sit down so that the rest of the restaurant wouldn't know what was happening. 'He's very busy. He's very stressed. It's a busy day...' etc etc.
At no point until we left did he come back and apologize. The manager and the original server continued to manage our table.
Who yells at the elderly and especially at Grandma on freaking Mother's Day in a restaurant for asking for a spoon?
I would have let it go and chalked it off to stress had he chosen to apologize or at least shut up when I checked him. Grandpa is 87 and Grandma is 77 and of a generation that is polite so at no point were they rude to him. Just asking for things. And the manager when apologizing to us just made excuses for him. It was handled very poorly.
Super unfortunate and needless to say we will not be back.
After coming in on the train from NYC tired and hungry we wanted thai food. After reading the reviews i was a little worried but thought who cares we want thai food! THE FOOD WAS SOO GOOD!!! The drunk man noodles were phenomenal and the rice noodles were the size of baby blankies. Best drunken noodles i have ever had. Best thai dish i’ve ever had. I am sad i dont live in NJ because i am obsessed.
Great service and delicious food. Tom yum soup and curry dishes are the best!
This was a horrible experience for us, mostly about the service. We came on a Friday night, so the restaurant was very busy, and it was understandable to us that service might be slow. We had 2 children with us, 1 needed a high chair. We asked for the high chair not once, not twice, but thrice. Every time we got a promise "OK it will come" but nothing came. Eventually gave up and my smallest child just sat on a normal chair. Then time to order. We ordered Pad Thai, and Pad See'ew (not sure how to spell that), and something else. Then we waited 45 minutes to get the food that we ordered, seeing tables that had come after us getting their food served. With 2 small children with us and it was getting late, but they did not bother to bring our food. We asked multiple times to please bring us something for the children to eat, anything! Again, got a promise "OK coming soon," and nothing until 45 minutes after we had placed our order did the food come.
To be totally fair, food was OK, but nothing really to write home about.
In general, the experience was horrible for us. They gave us 10% discount because they saw us getting very uneasy and annoyed. However, we would not come back.

Beautifully decorated on a side street (Bank Street) in downtown Summit, Nakorn Thai restaurant has a nice menu selection to please both vegetarian and meat/seafood diners.
The restaurant has a modern elegance to it, with tables spaced apart enough to have a nice private conversation. There is a long table in the center of the restaurant which can seat a large party.
The music was too loud and whiny. I'd suggest playing only instrumental music as I found this annoying.
The dishes we enjoyed included tom yum soup (which was way too spicy), Thai Basil Beef (also very spicy), green curry chicken, pad Thai and Mango Fish (which had little mango).
We ate here on a Thursday evening and at 9pm the restaurant closes. We'd have stayed longer if given the choice.
Overall nice place,.
Love this place, so glad it came to Summit! Staff are always very attentive and friendly. The curry puffs are fantastic.
Average everything
We wanted to love it, but maybe we ordered the wrong food: TomYom soup, was a little too sour and contained 4 overcooked rubbery shrimp, a few button mushrooms and a lot of large slices of onions, really disappointing. Chicken dumplings were deep fried, expected pan seared thin skin dumplings, but the flavor was good. Chicken skewers were a good value for the price, flavorful and juicy, the peanut sauce was way too sweet. Chicken Pad Thai: overcooked thin sliced chicken breast in supper sweet sauce with the wrong type of noodles and greasy. Sweet and sour chicken with pineapple again was inedibley sweet with a tiny cup of rice, at least rice was cooked well. Service was very friendly, but wish flavors were a bit more authentic. We were sitting at the table right next to the kitchen, it has curtains instead of doors separateing it from the dining room and the kitchen noise was loud and intrusive
🥰
I recommend this restaurant , foods was so delicious and service was great , all friendly servers perfect timing served i definitely go back to eat !! Must go Thai food restaurant !
The food is very good, the restaurant is pretty and clean and the servers are all very friendly and nice. However, I was very disappointed with the way the food was served. We were a party of six and our main entree was brought to the table even before the appetizers and soups. The table was completely overwhelmed with dishes. I requested the sweet chili sauce instead of the Thai peanut sauce on the Shrimp Praluk but when the Shrimp Praluk came to the table it was drenched in the Thai peanut sauce and the sweet chili sauce was brought on the side in a small dish which was spilled on my son's shirt and coat. We would go back again. However, we would make sure the food was brought out in it's proper order... appetizers first, soups second followed by the main entree then dessert.
Great Pad Thai!
A wonderful addition to the area. The food is great and authentic. Beautiful restaurant. Much better for dine in than take out, but that’s usual. Highly recommend.
We visited Tuesday January 16th and ordered-takeout there was a gentleman handling the front. He was pleasant and offered suggestions of the menu. I ordered about $100+ worth of food and my family and I loved it. We enjoyed the food so much that we visited again yesterday with another $100+ takeout order. The taller lady working the front desk was incredibly rude and disrespectful with her tone and smart remarks. She even asked as I entered the restaurant “what did I want?”. I was startled by the question and responded that I made a takeaway order #8 on the website and had question. To which she replied “You do realize we only just opened two minutes ago”. Then she looked and said we don’t have your order so I can’t do anything for you. I said well I did make the order and prepaid I just wanted to ask if they had the ability to sell a side order of the extra beef without putting it in the curry I had ordered. Just as I had asked the question my order came through the system.)She said no and that she could only sell me the beef salad without the salad. I declined and just ordered a beef pad see ew. The food from yesterday was just okay not as delicious as the first day. I thought I had found a beautiful gem in Nakorn but the rude hostess was unacceptable.
Really good food but really annoying that before 9pm they started to clean up and vacuuming, they told us several times the place was going to closed at 9pm. It was really cold outside so we waited for our ride, we told them but they did not understand or did not care and turn on the lights and put their coats, just waiting for us to leave.
Really disappointed that in Thursday night they are kicking customers out because they want to go home.
I don’t think we will go again only because of that reason.
Food was good though.
I have been to Thailand plenty of times and I can say the food here is the best I had outside of Thailand! Service is great and beautiful interior!
Decent place to grab some Thai food in the area. It's cozy with great ambiance. Parking can be a nuisance despite the availability of paid parking so brace yourself. Overall the food was great. You can get it customized to your taste, I made mine extra spicy. I knocked off 2 stars for two reasons. We ordered yuzu soda and it tasted nothing like yuzu, more like lemon juice with tonic water. My friend ordered a vegetarian tofu Pad Thai but there were pieces of chicken in his dish. They really have to be careful for individuals with dietary restrictions.
Food portions are small for the price.
We had the same experience as another reviewer. Came to try this new restaurant with some friends. We also arrived around 7:30, and we were asked to leave at 9:03PM on a Thursday night because they were 'now closed', despite there being 5-6 other tables of guests. Our server did not offer dessert before presenting the check, when we asked about dessert we were quickly told nothing is homemade, giving us the impression she did not want us to have dessert, the staff was vacuuming at 8:30 (it was loud), and bringing out the trash through the restaurant at 8:45. I would order takeaway from here, or maybe go for lunch where there are no time constraints, because the food was excellent, but will not be back to dine-in for dinner.
Fantastic Thai food. We happened upon this place without realizing that it was new and thought it was great. It quickly became a staple of our regular takeout rotation.
Highly recommend the massaman curry.
I am so happy this is in Summit. It is so yummy and we have been missing out on Thai food for so long. Everything was very tasty.
Ww loved the experience at Nakorn .. Enjoyed the Appetizers and Entre .. Service was very prompt resulting in Sizzling hot and delicious food !
Terrible experience- stay away! Ordered medium spice and dish was SO spicy I could not eat and I Love spicy food. Called to let them know and they offered to make a new dish. When my husband got home, it was the wrong dish. When I called back, owner refused to make new meal or give a future credit. Good luck staying in business with this attitude .
Ambience and service is good. Some dishes tasted great but a few did not match our palate.
My family and I loved this restaurant. The ambiance is wonderful (great date night vibe as well), but importantly, the food is amazing. I have had Thai at some fabulous restaurants in NYC and Jersey City. This restaurant is on par with the best of them. Very excited to have a great Thai restaurant in Summit!!!
Nakorn is the only Thai restaurant in the area and that itself would make it a welcome addition but having been here twice I must also highlight how beautiful and elegant the restaurant is. The food is among the best Thai food I have experienced in a restaurant setting. Our family loves it and we plan to frequent it often.
Food is just ok. They kept trying to take our food while we ate. Asian Blossom is better.
We went there thinking 4.9 rating with high expectations but this is a bogus rating… do NOT go just because of rating. Chef serving chicken for vegetarian people even though we reminded twice for tofu while ordering … They have no empathy for people!! Will never go back and you should never try as well! Extremely disappointed!
Vegetarian dish was made with chicken. Cheff didnt care to check and put chicken in the dish.
Very very disappointed.
Had takeout. Tried some apps, three noodle dishes and a chicken curry. All were excellent except the shrimp in the pad Thai was overcooked and way too little rice for the curry entree. Have never seen such a small rice container.
Will go back and dine in next time to try more dishes. Fills a need in town as there’s only a few Thai options nearby and they are just satisfactory.
We dined at Nakhorn Thai for the first time with my friends yesterday. The food was delightful, and the ambiance was good. Our visit occurred at around 7:30, and as a group of vegetarians with some dietary restrictions due to allergies, we understand that it can be a bit challenging for the staff. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and proceeded with our meal.
However, as the evening progressed and it got closer to the restaurant's closing time at 9:00 PM, we noticed a few aspects of the service that left us a bit disappointed. Firstly, there needed to be an inquiry about dessert or presentation of dessert options, which seemed unusual. When I finally asked about dessert around 8:35, the waiter provided the options with hesitation, and we sensed frustration.
The most disappointing part was when, at 8:40, the staff began cleaning, sweeping, and mopping around us while we were still enjoying our meal. It left us wondering why the restaurant would advertise its closing time as 9:00 p.m. if they intended to close up well before that.
While the food quality was undoubtedly excellent, the overall service experience fell below our expectations, especially considering the prices. This feedback can help the restaurant improve its service and ensure that future patrons enjoy a fantastic meal and a pleasant dining experience.
Good food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere. Appetizers were amazing
Amazing food. Great service!
They could dim down the lights a little bit to create a even better atmosphere.
Food was good but their takeout rice quantity was toooooo little. The container of rice was tiny. That was disappointing.
This restaurant is FABULOUS. I grew up in the DC area and since moving to Jersey I've been SO disappointed by the lack of authentic Thai food. My boyfriend who grew up in NYC felt the same way until we tried this wonderful restaurant. I would highly recommend any of the curries, fried rice dishes and of course my favorite - drunken noodles. Don't hesitate to come here!
The staff is always really friendly and the food is definitely the best thai I've tried so far in NJ. I also love that it's BYOB. It's easily one of my favorite spots in Summit!
Do not hesitate to try this place out.
Legit Thai place with excellent yummy Thai dishes on the menu at a reasonable price.
We had the Nakorn dumpling, green Payaya salad and Panang Curry. Everything was also super fresh and delicious. Server was super friendly and food came out quickly and hot.
Would go back and am looking forward to recommending to friends.
Nice place and great food! All the staffs are really nice! We had a birthday party on the Tuesday night and the owner always kind and help us a lot! Thank you💝 we love all the food. All my friends love curry puffs with ajad sauce. So good. I love this place. Will be back soon. 🙏🏻
Everything was amazing !!! My new favorite spot in Summit.
I’m so happy to have this new lovely Thai spot in Summit. I have both dined in and ordered take out and both experiences were wonderful. The food is excellent, the noodles and sauces are perfect. The red snapper had a crispy skin and a nice mild sauce. I highly recommend the dumplings.
Great food, friendly service, beautiful dining room. We ordered (take out): crab rangoons, Thai roti, pad Thai, crispy duck salad, and pad see ew. All were perfect. Wish this restaurant all the luck. Keep up the good work.
Great addition to the Summit food scene. Excellent food, beautiful decor, great service. One of our party had drunken noodles _ so good, he almost ordered a second serving. We wish them a lot of success!
