Moo Yai Thai has become an absolute favorite for my wife and me, and we can't recommend it enough! My wife has celiac disease and a dairy allergy, so eating out can sometimes be challenging, but the staff here are incredibly knowledgeable about food allergies. They are meticulous in ensuring her meal is safe, and after dining at Moo Yai Thai well over 50 times, she has never gotten sick—a testament to their dedication and care.

As for the food, I’ve made it my mission to try almost everything on their menu, and it’s all amazing. That said, there are some standout dishes I keep coming back to. The **Tom Yum Soup** is a flavor explosion—perfectly balanced with tangy, spicy, and savory notes. The **Pad Thai with Peanut Sauce on the Side** is a comforting classic, done exceptionally well. If you’re a fan of pork dishes, the **Pad Basil with Pork** and the **Spicy Basil Fried Rice with Pork** are must-tries—they pack just the right amount of heat and are bursting with flavor.

Whether you have dietary restrictions or are just looking for consistently delicious Thai food, Moo Yai Thai delivers every time. It's a gem in Sea Bright that we feel lucky to have in our rotation!

Their soup is such a pleasant treat.

The service was terrific. We were greeted with smiles and a very attentive waitress. The food is good but it is served takeout style so you're eating out of the plastic containers. It was worth the drive to see bright Northampton County Pennsylvania we saw the Diners Drive-Ins and dives episode and decided to check it out beautiful day down the shore!

Diner Review №4

Fresh, delicious, authentic food, served in an unfussy simple way-(take-out style). It’s handmade with love which takes a bit longer, but worth the wait! Highly recommend supporting a small family owned business!

Diner Review №5

This is probably the best Thai restaurant in NJ, offering the closest experience to authentic Thai cuisine we've found. It's a lovely, family-owned establishment that truly values quality without inflating prices. After enjoying incredible Thai food in Atlanta, we were disappointed by the high-priced, low-quality offerings in NJ. Thankfully, we discovered this gem—finally, a place that serves genuinely authentic Thai dishes. We will keep returning back.

Diner Review №6

Meant more for take out. They do not have staff to serve and only a few tables. They serve in take out boxes. But the food was yummy. Nothing much about the ambience...

Diner Review №7

Had an amazing green curry with pork. The portion was huge and some of the best flavors ive tasted. They didnt have table service but you can sit down and eat inside. Great value for amazing authentic thai food

Diner Review №8

The food tasted very authentic.

Diner Review №9

This place is the thai jackpot, great thai food!

Diner Review №11

The best Thai food I have ever had. The place was very nicely decorated with colorful pinks and fresh flowers on each table making it inviting. The food was excellent and very authentic. I highly recommend the Thai Sweet Tea as well

Diner Review №12

Something on the menu for everyone, and everything tastes great!

Diner Review №13

The owners are very friendly and they serve up some delicious Thai food! 😋 The Satay chicken skewers were my favorite 🍗🔥

Diner Review №15

Hands down, best Thai food in the area. I have been to Thailand on a number of occasions and this is the only spot in Monmouth county (and New Jersey as far as I've found) that even comes close. Beyond that the owners are unbelievably friendly, helpful, and kind.

I really can't sing the praises of Moo Yai enough. Everytime we are in Sea Bright it's a must stop. Looking forward to years and years of meals from this gem of a local staple.

As far as our specific order. Papaya salad is a must and I am an absolute sucker for the pad basil with pork. My wife loves their gluten free mindfulness and my son absolutely crushes anything with a good flat noodle (in fact, I sent him to daycare today with leftover pad woonsen for lunch!)

Great food and service

Diner Review №18

Take out we were very disappointed. The last time we ordered it was great! Last night was awful ordered woo shrimp and my husband got the sweet and sour beef. With numerous Appys. The portions were small the shrimp had 4 small shrimp and the beef was barley beef just veggies. For an dinner costing $20 plus dollars. I don’t think there was $5 worth of food in either dish. We were both starving. We won’t be back . Total bill was $90 disgraceful.

Diner Review №19

Excellent family-run takeout place. No frills / no waiters dining with a few small tables. Food served in plastic containers but they now have silverware and plates.

Diner Review №20

Hands down the best Thai food I’ve had in YEARS! I live full time in nyc and come down to Monmouth beach on weekends and I can tell you I may travel down JUST FOR THIS FOOD! Get the pork appetizer & I loved the massaman curry too! I can’t wait to try everything on the menu!

Diner Review №21

Diner Review №22

They were friendly and the service was just awesome. Food was excellent

Diner Review №23

Nice owner, nice service and small but nice place inside. I personally found pad Thai to be too sweet but was ok. Fried rice was better. Quantity was too less for the price they charge. But I guess it's for the location. Also they add a surcharge for credit card.

Diner Review №24

The Thai Pad is SO SO OOO…. SWEET than a dessert!!

Diner Review №25

Excellent Thai food! Highly recommend. Service was great too. Even though we came at a time that's take out service only (no dishesor server tending to your table), server was gracious, as we were provided regular dishes/ silverware along with our food.

Diner Review №26

Great food

Diner Review №27

This place was really good. Spicy here means spicy!

Diner Review №28

They have papaya salad and it’s vegan version , with Lime , sugar cane , no fish sauce, no honey , no meat

Diner Review №29

Diner Review №35

Diner Review №36

Took my girlfriend who has celiacs and the chef was very kind and knowledgeable, this place cares about allergies and the food is absolutely delicious

Diner Review №37

Was excited to try this place, but disappointed. My food was ok taste and portion wise, but my sister ordered the pad see ew and it barely had any noodles and looked like someone had eaten half of it. Each dish was $19 and honestly not worth that price.

Diner Review №38

Amazing food! Delicious Tom Yum, Tom Ka, tasty appetizers. Enjoyed every bite!

Diner Review №39

Update: Moo Yai Thai was featured on Diners Drive-ins and Dives. Season 42 episode 21. Watch On Demand.

This place opened on April 2019. They started off with basic Thai dishes.
Drinks, my current favorite is the coconut water with coconut meat. Also try the traditional Thai iced tea or the Thai tea with lime juice. Apps, I love the curry puffs. The pastry is very light and the stuffing is delish! Actually get the Moo Yai sampler and that will include the puffs, chicken satay, pork skewers and dumplings. Dumplings by the way has good portion of ground pork.
Let me just state my favorite dishes
Pad Thai chicken
Steak salad
Coconut soup with chicken
Pineapple fried rice
Seafood fried rice (good portion of crab meat!)
Specials (dine in only)
Steak cut in strips
Crispy duck
Pork cooked 2 ways
Chicken with peanut sauce (similar to chicken satay)
Garlic shrimp which is the number one favorite special
Desserts you both enjoy the fried bananas and mango sticky rice.
I go there many time you might see me there
Enjoy!

Diner Review №40

Fantastic restaurant, great food and awesome staff!

Diner Review №41

First time to this Thai restaurant. Placed our order at the counter and sat down. I had the red curry chicken dish. Really good.

Diner Review №42

It’s such a treat to have wonderful delicious food after a beautiful beach day. I enjoyed my order from Moo Yai

Diner Review №43

We just stopped by on the way back from Sandy Hook beach, and was very positively surprised how good and authentic the food is here. I am very familiar with south east Asian food, and I would say this is probably one of the best Thai food I have had. The owner was very helpful to guide me on spice level (which I always check for my children). They said their Pad Thai and beef were top class, my hot green curry with tofu was perfect and just the right flavor and heat. I highly recommend it. Also I had a great conversation with the owner on his aquarium, this place is really a gem.

I'm from NYC. I've eaten authentic Thai food in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan. This was the furthest thing from authentic or even closely resemble Thai food. The food we ordered was delivered by grub hub, took about an hour on a Friday. Totally fine with the wait. However they not only sent us the wrong meal, but the food was the blandest I've ever eaten from a Asian cuisine inspired establishment. I've had better meals from food courts. Their Chicken and Basil rice was flavorless and only provided spice/heat. No basil flavor and only a few chopped basils sprinkled on top of mushy rice. Their seafood fried rice only had shrimp in it and also mushy. Where's the rest of actual seafood? The pad Thai was also as dense as a brick in their take-out container. Couldn't even break it apart when re-heating it. Absolutely awful meal. I am honestly wondering if their food tastes better when eating at the establishment, because as far as take-out is concerned. They failed at that aspect. I guess this is as good as it gets for that part of Jersey when it comes to Thai.

Diner Review №47

Stopped in on Monday after my walk.
Sorry people no dining in, only take out
( no worries 👍). I ordered the pineapple fried rice and curry puffs ( bought were extremely good ). I was afraid the rice was going to be to sweet ( not at all, was just right). Can't wait to go again, really good food. 👍👍👍👍👍

Diner Review №48

I go here... A Lot. The food is always top notch. That being said, tonight the Red Curry was unbelievable, rivaling NYC. This really is a hidden gem.

Opinion: This is the best Thai food I've ever had.

Fact: They have the most delicious and most authentic Thai food on the Jersey Shore (I know because I've personally tried every Thai restaurant in the Jersey Shore area and this is the only place I will go. Am I picky? Yes. High standards? Yes. Does this place measure up? Above and beyond.)

(P.S. If you know someone with a gluten allergy, intolerance, dietary preference, even celiac disease, I have word from a reliable celiac source that they are safe. They also have a gluten free menu.)

Diner Review №56

So good. Great flavor. Generous portions. Quick service and super clean restaurant. Highly recommend.

Diner Review №57

1st time... I will go back often. Had the Larb which was the best that I have had. And the Green Papaya salad was spicy and delicious, too.

Diner Review №58

The authentic food and great service makes this my favorite tHai place in the area. All the ingredients are fresh and the dishes have an authentic well prepared taste to them. In addition to that the service is very friendly and goes out of their way to keep their customers satisfied.

Diner Review №59

Moo Yai is the best Thai food in the area and probably the best Thai food I’ve ever had!!!

Diner Review №60

Incredible Food. Loved it!

Diner Review №63

Diner Review №64

First time ordering take out from here. I had the chicken pad thai and was bummed i didn't love it and i love Pad Thai! it was different from all the other Pad Thai's i've had .maybe i'm just use to all the others i've had.

Diner Review №65

Wife and I were looking for a new place in the area to have lunch so we picked this one. We were the only patrons at the time. We usually take this to be a bad sign. Unpretentious decor, the server was a friendly young American guy. I wasn't expecting much. We both ordered the Pad Basil. Mine was with ground pork and a sunnyside egg, hers was tofu. Wow! Was that ever so good! I would however recommend that dish only if you like spicy food. Not so spicy as to hide the flavor though. Good portions. Just right. Kind of like home cooking but not from any home I've ever been to. Can't wait to go back and try some of the other dishes. If you like food that's not shy on flavor and maybe a little different than the rest you should go here.

Diner Review №66

authentic thai food. we had green curry and penang curry. generous portions, nice service place is clean. we had sticky rice with mango to top it off and it was delicious. best thai I've had in the area!

Diner Review №67

I love the Tom Kah soup. I like to order rice on the side to spoon into the soup. Delicious!!
I ate Chicken Satay with it (Chicken marinated in a delicious sauce with Peanut dip)
Soo yummy!!
I spend time in Thailand and love to refresh my memories of the beautiful people and country with some original taste of one of my favorite countries.
It’s great that I can bring my own beverage
Thank you!!

Diner Review №68

My family and I had wonderful experience dining here. Everyone was nice and the food was delicious! We tried several dishes but my absolute favorites were the shrimp. It was cooked to perfection and the flavor was well balanced. I highly recommend this place.

Diner Review №69

Best Thai I’ve had around here in a longgggg time. The papaya salad is super authentic! I ordered takeout from here and everyone at the restaurant was extremely nice, didn’t take long at all, and the food was still hot when I arrived home. The Thai fried rice was excellent and the curries were also authentic and very flavorful. I do think the mango sticky rice should be slightly saltier like it is in Thailand, but it still hit the spot. I’m so excited about this place - it’ll be my next go-to for Thai in this area!

Diner Review №71

Incredible food. Ordered the Pad See Eww, and couldnt believe the amount of flavor exploding put of my taste buds. Great job. Looking forward to come back again and again.

Diner Review №73

Good simple menu and authentic ingredients. Little pricey but part of the location. Will try again if in the area again. Recommend Bangkok Thai on route 35 for more traditional menu.

Diner Review №75

One of the better restaurants on the Sea Bright strip. Very small but has a nice atmosphere. Servers seem inexperienced but very kind.
Pad Thai was good. Curry puffs and Thai Iced Tea were fantastic.
Prices were reasonable which is surprising for the area. I would reccomend going here for dinner since Thai food is usually pretty heavy so it may be too much if you are planning to go back to the beach.

Diner Review №76

Great Thai food, plenty of veggie options!

Diner Review №79

Our first time visit today for lunch with my wife. We were greeted by a nice gentleman named Jason
as we were seated. My wife an I started with Thai Iced Teas. I was hungry so I started with the Shrimp Tom Yum soup, which was really very nice- not too spicy like I’ve had in other Thai restaurants, it was very flavorable however , the shrimp were tender even in the soup and the mushrooms were fresh. My wife had Sweet and Sour Shrimp, which was cooked perfectly. I had the Shrimp Pad Thai, which was really great! The Shrimp were tender and the noodles were not soft, just right. We finished things off by splitting a Sticky Rice and Mango dessert, which was also terrific. I would highly recommend for authentic Thai food. We can’t wait to go back! Nice casual place and BYOB if you like

Diner Review №80

I started off with their sampler for the appetizer since we wanted to try it all lol and then I had the pineapple fried rice with coconut juice on the side and also a Thai tea. All the food tasted amazing and so did the drinks. Service was great and the place was very clean. I've tried other Thai places and their food was very bland but you won't be disappointed here. Keep up the great work ! Oh wait I forgot I got the mango sticky rice before I left and that was so delicious don't leave without trying it, you'll be upset you didn't.

Diner Review №81

Great Thai restaurant!!!

Diner Review №82

Fantastic

Diner Review №83

Ordered takeout. It was ready to pick up in 20 min.

Diner Review №84

I was very excited to try out this restaurant since I’m a big fan of Thai food. My friend and I ate at the restaurant. We were both floored when our waitress served our food in plastic takeout containers along with plastic forks and knives. Definitely wasn’t a good first impression. Maybe they should stick to doing takeout only.

The best Thai food I’ve ever had! Food is very authentic. I ordered the Chicken Pad Basil with a fried egg on top and it was Delicious! The Mango sticky rice for dessert was absolutely amazing and a must have, I can eat that for breakfast, lunch AND dinner. Of course I had to wash it all down with a Thai iced tea. Moo Yai Thai is definitely a must try !!!
