Compact, locally owned eatery featuring a wide range of familiar Chinese dishes in a simple venue.
Chef probably changed. Food isnt even indo chinese anymore. Least they could do is inform customers. I ordered a Veg hakka noodle combo with chili paneer dry and ended up tossing it out. So disappointed. Never eating here again
“glad to find indo-chinese food joint within reach...”
being an Indian, I always look out for indo-Chinese food and heard about it the lot...glad I tried this y'day (03/09) and apart from food what I found fascinating is, its Price ;)
in $5-6, you can have sumptuous appetizers... wallah.
we tried 4-5 starters... pan-fried chicken chilli, steam dumplings, chicken lollypop, chicken 65, samosa and everything was good.
they allow BYOB too.
in the main course, we ordered triple schezwan rice (too spicy), china spice fried rice and Hakka noodles... quantity was as usual too much so we packed the rest.
the server was one girl who is full of courtesy... and she was the one who was taking care of all the order from 4-5 tables and delivery too.
only con is they don't have too much space but what I saw, people opt for 'to go' over there.
bottom line- will go there again for sure :)
disgusting front that also passes itself off ass "Pad Thai Snob" on Doordash and other sites...this is clearly not a real thai restaurant, as The Garlic Shrimp Pad Thai was basically coated with some sort of store-bought mix of Sriracha and ketchup.....based on Google maps, this is a poorly run indian restaurant attempting to foist bad food on unsuspecting customers via the haze of fake delivery restaurants....in summary DONT ORDER FROM HERE
If I could give a zero I would. The worst customer service ever. I’ve regularly ordered from this place, but today is the last. I didn’t get my order and called and they said the driver stole the food and they can’t do anything about it. Well I ordered $70 worth of food, so you should remake it and Sort it out with Uber. I work in the food industry, so know you can resolve. Super disappointed. Maybe replace the lady who picks up the phone.

Good food good services
I only always order the hot & sour soup .

Very good and kind owner
Called in a takeout order. Was a little suspicious when the lady told me to switch the order, and randomly made a separate suggestion. I agreed and regret it. Had severe food poisoning for a week. Do not go here
Cosy atmosphere, good food and great service.
Good ,Indian and also Chinese food, chicken 65 ,chicken lollipops , samosas, vegetarian food are good , it's halal.
Great Chinese food with a Indian touch too ,see their menu too many choices ,order in delivery app s,
This’s a unique Halal Indo-Chinese small cozy place with some good delicious freshly prepared food with a unique budget friendly.
They have some good combos with unbeatable Priceline in Jersey city.. guys stop by and check out.
Warning : This restaurant is not halal anymore still they had halal sign board .
I have ordered tandoori chicken, the worst ever had in my life, out of 6 pices 5 of them are had and 6th one little bit tender
Hfsaa certified last I checked. Great food.
everything in this store was soooo good! i ordered the drumsticks in heaven, tomato soup, and keema naan. the chicken was soooo juicy and tender. customer service was amazing i even went back a second time and it was still so good
As soon as we walked, place smelled so disgusting because it was kept filthy and dirty. Their menus were greasy and had mold. I wouldn’t recommend any one ordering or eating at this place. Seriously, health is wealth.
This place is owned by new owner and its compliance with HMS (hand slaughter halal). This is our first time visiting and food is 5/5 both Chinese and desi. Food quantity is great and 2 persons can eat in one order.
Though the place is small and needs some cosmetic decoration. Parking definitely an issue and I would recommend to go for paid parking on Newark ave.
It’s zabhia halal certified by HMS amazing food, great test of back home chines. Really recommend. Everyone must go and try some banging food!!!
Delicious food and all affordable, Zabia halal, and staff is very friendly. Short wait time for dining in and ordering take out, and deliveries arrive fast.
we order 3 dishes shezwan bhel, manchurian and paneer chilly. We was so excited to eat but when we started eating the taste was not good as we expected manchurian was not bad, paneer chilly was not actual paneer chilly it was like unbaked paneer with some vegetable and gravy and the bhel was worst in taste . we are very disappointed by the taste of food. we felt like we waste our money.
Delicious food, orders do not take a long time either and great range of food in the menus to try from. All affordable, halal, and staff is very friendly. Short wait time for dining in and ordering take out, and deliveries arrive fast.
That is not food, It is overpriced, disgusting gunk. The staff is rude, and did not supply napkins nor eating utensils. I would never recommend this place, to anyone I care about.
My friend and I ordered the food for delivery. The chicken tasted like it was perished. They sent us leftovers for sure. We threw everything in the garbage. Just yuck!
They are explicit charge $1 more even for order greater than $20, this is simple loot, We talked to them about that, they said they will keep charging, We were regular customer here but sorry to say you lost one customer today, Not going to order ever after. please dont loot people.
Best Chinese restaurant ever I look upto . Very hygienic with very polite staff if you looking for party order this place is must to try. I bet you will love it! I had try chilli fry lamb and shezwan fried rice amazing ❣
By far the worst customer service I have ever received. Will not be coming back here ever again.
Good portions. Fast delivery. Low quality chicken, bland sauces/seasoning and high cost considering I've had better Chinese up in Fort Lee for half the cost. I figured being an Indian Chinese fusion, there would be more spice. Also hurt my stomach.
A tip for the chef, the last texture you want when you get fried chicken is "mushy", no matter the style.
No chicken in chicken triple schezuan rice. And this has happened twice now. Called the restaurant to let them know and there were no apologies. Bc
This is absolutely the worst place to order food. We ordered party trays for New years eve from this place. Food looked gross and stale but I still braved myself to taste it and I almost poisoned myself. I had to throw it immediately into the garbage, the manager Mike and owner of this place Aneesh are rude and it felt like they would punch me on the face if I'd complained about their food in-person. Save your life and hard earned money by not ordering at this place.
ZERO stars for this restaurant(feel like we need that option now!!)
We ordered new year party trays for Chinese food at this place. The order total was around 160$ and we had a big tray of chicken noodles, 3 orders of veg fried rice and 3 orders of veg noodles. Food was horrible! When we opened the pack, there was a bad smell, we almost ignored it but on eating it tasted bad too. We had to throw it away.
Given that it was New Year’s Eve, we called them today to discuss about it. No apologies, no genuine concern( given that my friend is pregnant and we particularly requested for food without MSG so they knew what they were catering to) and super rude behavior instead. We spoke to both the manager Mike & the owner Aneesh and they used cuss words on us before hanging up. Way to go!! Kudos to you for spoiling our New Years 😣
People - please do not have their food unless you want to end up with food poisoning!
Wish I could get a refund. It wasn’t tasty at all!
They were the same as Nan King and honestly, just like Nan king they need to shut down. The food was good ages ago. They lost their touch, everything either taste the same or doesn’t taste good at all. Too pricy for below average food.
I was in the area, and this place smelled so good I had to try.The chicken was excellent, and I only gave it 4 stars because they gave me steamed dumplings, instead of the spring rolls I ordered.Although they were enjoyable( the sauce was especially good),I wanted the spring rolls.
Will never order from here again .I ordered chicken appetizer and they send me veg appetizer .at first I thought may be they made mistake and I said to myself that I can consider this much but I decided still call the restaurant anyways.when I call them to my surprise the guy on the phone said they knowing send me the veg appetizer because they were out of stock and didn’t even bother to call me to get my opinion on whether I want to change it to something else.the guy was very rude and was talking senseless.
This place makes the best chicken in the world. It's called chicken 65. It's flames. It's delicious. No. It's delicioso yes. That's what it is. I'm not going to lie to you on average they get $42 a week from me. And one thing you should know it's not called China spice for nothing.
I always passed by this restaurant and smelled the food and thought I’m gonna try them one day. Today was finally that day and if could give zero stars I would. They took forever to take my order down. I had to spell my address twice. The delivery guy wanted me to walk in pouring rain to his car and once he arrived he had no change. Then they got my order wrong or They delivered the wrong thing either way when I called their delivery person he said he would call restaurant to confirm and call me back. When I called the restaurant to inform them they said they didn’t know what I wanted them to do because they had given the food that maybe somebody stole it. I ordered 3 items shrimp curry lunch special, brownie and vanilla ice cream, and shrimp dumplings. I got chicken curry some dish with tofu a small container of rice and some roti. When I tried to tel them to look maybe they had missed a bag from my order the phone person of restaurant or whatever started yelling asking me to describe the bag to him. At that time I noticed a different name on it. I told him and that’s when he said he didn’t know what I wanted him to do because he gave the driver food. Someone should b held responsible I should get either the difference from this wrong order because mine was more expensive or they should give me what I actually ordered. Horrible horrible service never ever ordering there again
Small place but a decent Indo-Chinese experience. The dry chilli chicken and drums of heaven (kai chi) are really nice!
Haven't had anything here that wasn't delicious. Only issue is when I tried paying with a credit card, they tried charging me $2 more for processing.
Not sure why this place purports to be a chinese food restaurant. The chicken egg rolls were dry and had little more than overcooked chicken inside. The China Spice rice smelled spoiled when I opened the container and it didn't taste good at all. And the sweet and sour chicken looked like soup and not like anything I'd ever seen. The description did not include the tomatoes and pineapples and carrots that it came stewed in....never trust. "Chines" food restaurant that doesn't serve traditional staples like egg drop and wonton soup. Definitely not a go to if you're looking for authentic Chinese cuisine
They are Taking too much time, bad experience
Ordered from this place via Grubhub. It had already been 3hours waiting for the delivery! It never came. Called the restaurant more than 30 times to get the right status and every time they told me that the order has left and is on the way!! Grubhub never gives the current status on the app and the restaurant always lied about the order status! Did not get the delivery at all!!! Waited 4 hours in total!
HORRIBLE SERVICE
Good Food.
Fantastic Asian and Indian cuisine. Food on par with takeout in the City.
Mr. Hanish (owner or associate, not sure) provides five star customer service. Food is good value for the money spent.
Their service is pathetic. Three consecutive times, they have taken more than 2 hours 30 mins to deliver the food. Last time they took 2 hours 45 mins and the worst part is every time I called them, they kept lying to me that the food is on its way but on Seamless the status never changed. The restaurant manager told me to order from uber eats if I want it quicker. The food is average but if you want to eat and not sleep hungry, please think before ordering from here.
The food here is just ok. It is literally a hole in the wall so you probably cannot sit her to eat, only takeout. Don't think we will be ordering again.
Good food , fast delivery, price also good
Had a bad experience with a homeless person they were trying to kick out and she wouldn't leave but they sat us next to her and were yelling back and forth to each other. Left after 10 minutes without ordering. Also there is no Chinese personnel working here
Very slow service particularly if you opt for delivery. They will always start stating delivery ASAP (60-75 mins) but I bet the food won’t arrive before 2 hours and the delivery spot is 5 min walk from the restaurant. And this is not a one off.
Very nice food..
Solid Indo-Chinese food
Disgusting food on quality and hygiene side
Terrible food. Ordered chicken haka noodles. After eating. Started vomiting. Everyone who had food vomited.
令人惊叹的地方!那里的食物很好,那里的人也很好!
Great Chinese Indian fusion! Authentic and diverse preparations! Loved it!
This is a very small establishment- the kitchen, front desk and storage make up most of the space leaving behind a small seating area whose condition is not fit. However, the taste of most items on the menu is very good and is inexpensive as well.
This place may not be suitable for dining in but do give it a try with a take out.
food quality is pretty good all things considered. Rates are reasonable service is good. Some of the best Hakka Chinese are in Toronto (that's where I am from) but this is not bad. I would give it a 6 out of 10.
These guys charge additional 4% as Service Charge if you pay by Credit or Debit Card. This is a take out and/or home delivery joint and there is no service really available to be billed for. These guys insist on paying cash. So be careful if you are not aware and pay by card, you will end up paying huge sum unnecessarily. Food quality is average Indian-Chinese and nothing exceptional to write about.
Called for a pick up and wanted a fried rice with Tofu. The person picked said only rice with that is Spicy curry fried rice. Ordered and paid almost 14$ for veg rice. There was no Tofu, no egg and very few veggies which I can count. Huge quantity of rice with no taste at all. Will definitely wont go back.
Really great taste. Loved the indochinese fusion.
Gobi manchurian and schezuan fried rice are very good. Not as spicy as I would like though.
I like the Chinese food here. I ordered chicken schezwan fried rice and the chicken Manchuria.
Good Indian food
On time delivery this time. They changed the delivery persons and the service has brem improved. Food is really very good. Will order again.
One of the my favorite restaurant, awesome food
Nice food, but will be busy in weekends
Their food tastes just like indian chinese. We order very frequently. Very tasty food. One must try atleast once.
Spicy but not tasty food.
Awful seating, exposed to the kitchen....better a to go instead...but I won't suggest this place at all.
Amazing Indo Chinese style cuisine. This place is not good for dine-in experience. Good for take out or uber eats. Many vegetarian options. It is Indian level spicy.
Amazing Indian Chinese
- Small intimate place has a neighborhood vibe to it.
- Chicken Tikka Masala was great
- Ok price.
- Good Music
- Authentic
Truthfully one of the most authentic Indian Restaurants near the Indian Market. The staff and the owner were very much welcoming. They treated everyone with respect and practically like family. I love the fact it's location is away from the Indian market's commotion, a bit small on the interior but the service was impeccable. They will definitely make the food according to your taste so if you like your food spicy they will make it spicy and vice versa. I highly recommend the indo-chinese menu as well because that is their specialty. The price is pretty average, but their service is outstanding. The Malai Kofta was delicious, the curry was a smooth blend designed to allure the eye and its fragrence meant to quake anyone's stomach with hunger.
Best restaurant in the city
Great 1
Food is good. A bit oily though... good for take out.. great service
Wha nice authentic indian restaurant
Nice indian restaurant in the city ....friendly owner and staffs , customer service is good
Super nice place
Nice food nice restaurant
Service is worth the money..
Great experience with lovely people.
Best indo Chinese restaurant...I love the dipping sauce they give with the dumplings. It's quite different and way better than the soy dipping sauce... good foods on time and pocket frendly 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice combination of indo Chinese food .... love to visit this place .... whenever I get time
Best indo-Chinese restaurant in the locality. They really serve food real fast.
china spice is likely one of the best Indo chineese restaurant in jersey city. The menu is great and offers a wide variety of different food and drinks. The staff is always very engaged and happy to make some great recommendations, specially hina. Highly recommended!!
Every time you visit this place they will make you go happy. My favorite is lamb fry. Don't know when I will be back to Jersey City but whenever I come. Will go straight there so that I get food like home made.
Always fresh food... family environment
I go here regularly for their $5 lunch specials. Generous proportions and delicious food. Quiet place with no frills but it’s always delivered in taste and value.
It is Very nice place for food fast food..they are having good chefs and very receptive
Worst service particular that small lady in billing no respect to customers . No taste in food very poor quality.
Great tasty food from north part of India. I love Punjabi curry dishes. My favorite is saam savera. Should try once.
These guys makes food of their own taste. Inspite you instruct them anything, mild spicy no spicy or whatsoever. Food will be what they like not you :( Had a worst experience of very hot spicy food, with spl Instruction of Mild splicy.. almost more then half of the food got wasted. On complain back they now nicely cook-up stories of masala and all that.. Better try with other Indian cuisine
Terrible service. Utterly unprofessional. More than hours for a delivery after an estimate of 1 hour.
worst experience ever...we placed the order, the restaurant accepted it and did not deliver and it was an hour and a half before 10 pm (time of closing)
Uncourteous staff.. no heating.. highly unrecommended..
Excellent indo Chinese food

bottom line- will go there again for sure :)
food was not that good, ambience is bad, service is horrible
TERRIBLE FOOD, looks like everything is deep fried in the same oil and tastes exactly the same, ordered 3 different dishes and really disappointed, DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE, not worth the money at all
Best chicken dumplings. I love the dipping sauce they give with the dumplings. It's quite different and way better than the soy dipping sauce. Tried a couple of other things from the menu that I did not like at all. The vegetarian Manchurian was extremely disappointing.
food is very good, but delivery orders are consistently late, and my delivery driver was/is very rude
if you're familiar with the original china spice, the food in this location is of the same great taste but the setting is just as bad. only recommended for quick, casual dinners - not a place to take someone on a date or family dinners.
Their service sucks. They say some random time for delivery and take more than double the time for same. For last two times I have waited for around 1.5 hours for just couple of dishes. I liked the food and that is why I have been ordering from them but there are many others who can give good food for same price and at the speculated time. So beware when you order.
Best indo chainees food in Journal square.
Do Not order anything Thai from here! Its not the real thing and inauthentic. My delivery was almost 2 hours late to only be dissapointed by a bright green " Fake" Green Curry! Tasteless and nothing like REAL thai food. It was half full of grease. Total waste of money you've been warned!
Good taste
Enjoying food from last four years...best food in journal square so far and in fact celebrated my daughters first birthday also in China spice... Just enjoy the food and love everything about China spice 😍
Excellent Food ... Both Indian and Indo Chinese.. Keep up the good work. --- MK
