Food was great, very flavorful and served quickly. The Malaysian specialties are worth trying.

Service is okay. We were greeted with a rude “Yes?” when we entered. No hi, hello, or how many people. Being somewhat pleasant to the people who come to your restaurant would have been nice. Nobody came to refill our water the entire time we were there.

Attempted to order Uber eats, not allergen friendly like Uber suggests. Phone lady was rude and lazy, told me she doesn’t know how to cancel my order and told me I need to contact Uber. Uber told me that if i cancel the order, I’m not getting a refund and the restaurant is still getting my money despite not making or delivering my order. Lady on the phone said I need to call ahead, which would be fair if their restaurant didn’t specifically allow for allergens to be selected. Other restaurants don’t allow that. She was lazy and rude and wanted to take my $$ for food they were never going to make or deliver. (Because she agreed to cancel the order on her end but not via Uber, where I ordered/paid). Nothing on the menu is gluten free :(

i'm responding to some negative comments about the quality of food at More Express Restaurant . I'm not sure why any one would ever say anything negative . i'm eat at More regularly and have NEVER EVER had food that taste bad , the food is consistently fresh and good !!! But don't take my word for it, Go and see for yourself .

By far the best sushi in downtown Jersey City. The Tokyo world is extremely large and very well portioned however, all the other Sushi although a bit smaller, is full of amazing flavors. The Pad Thai is refreshing and if you like spicy, just ask. Ex service and customer service they stayed open late so my party of two could go and have a late night dinner! Almost forgot, the best miso soup I’ve had outside of Japan!

Best hainan chicken in NY hands down

As a South East Asian, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. I got the Hainan Chicken Rice, Rendang and Kangung and it was all delicious. Food came out fast and the service was terrific. Would definitely come again!

Disappointing Experience with Small Portions and Missing Items

I recently ordered from this restaurant and was quite disappointed with the quality and portion sizes.

The Miso soup I received only filled half the container, which was very underwhelming.

The Thai Chili Basil dish barely had any sauce and only covered the bottom of the container. The portion size was about a quarter of what I’m used to from other places.

Even the rice container was not fully filled, and the rice itself was extremely dry.

Additionally, my pick-up order was missing basic essentials like napkins, a spoon, and a fork, which made eating my meal quite difficult.

Overall, the portions were far too small for the high price, and the missing items added to the frustration. I expected much better and wouldn’t recommend this place based on my experience.

第一次来这个餐厅， 可能是因为下雨，也可能是我们卡着下午五点刚营业的时间，总之店里人不多。一进门老板娘很热情，一眼看出我们是中国人。

点了招牌的海南鸡饭和菜包，加上一个冬阴功汤。 味道都很好，鸡肉很嫩，菜包里的辣椒炒肉味道很像国内的。分量也很足，两个人太饿了全吃完了，后知后觉的好撑。风景也很好，窗对面好像是个courtyard，在grove.st附近，吃完散散步也是不错。

I was visiting the area for a couple weeks and found this gem of a restaurant! Not only was the food incredibly delicious, but the service was outstanding! Super kind and helpful employees with a nice atmosphere to the whole place. I can give high recommendations to their sushi, some of the freshest tasting I’ve had.

First time ordering from here. I decided on a chicken pad Thai for pick up. Food was ok, but there was lots of pieces of tofu (10-12) included for some reason! Probably more tofu than the chicken which was the option I had selected. Probably an honest mistake, but still confused!

Decent local business. But come on, show some respect for your neighbors and customers. It looks like an abandoned parking lot in front.

I'm leaving this FIVE STAR REVIEW for More Express because they are reliable. What I mean by that is this: every time I feel lousy & need a pick-me-up (comfort food almost) I know that when their competitors are already closed that THEY ARE STILL OPEN thus satisfying my cravings. Second, they are reliable because every time I would request for a SUPER SPICY DRUNKEN NOODLES they would GENEROUSLY DO SO thus after eating I feel alert because of the spiciness. I like these things that I mentioned in an establishment because I've lived in 3 continents & travelled the world & I have high standards when it comes to food & service. So far More Express meets my high standards :) I AM CONTENT!

Got a takeout of mango sticky rice and coconut water. Sticky rice was good, not too sweet and mango chunks were nice. Coconut water was good but I wouldn't recommend it given the Price. There is a $15 min for using a card for takeout.

Me and my friend were very happy with their foods. We tried Shrimp Pad Thai and few orders from Sushi menus. I work in Jersey city and will come back for dinner menu because I see some Asian menus that I couldn’t see in my life :) Highly recommend!

Great tasting food at a fair price! There hasn't been anything on the menu that I haven't liked. My favorite dish is the drunken udon. This is my go-to place for take out.

5/13/2023 update: It’s changed, and unfortunately for the worse. Pad Thai was soupy, and served with thin noodles. Formerly amazing Thai basil fried rice now tastes like generic fried rice. It’s too bad because this used to be one of our favorite Thai restaurants 🙁

The worst service I've had in a long time. A person in our party had a food allergy and the server did not even try to help us figure out what we could order from the menu. First he said there was nothing we could order. Then when we challenged him and asked about specific dishes he suddenly "remembered" that some dishes that we suggested would be OK. It was so frustrating that we walked out. We went to another restaurant a couple of blocks away where the server treated us like they wanted us to eat there.

Love the concept of asia fusion, I ordered Bento box that comes with rice, long bean with tofu, sushi, salad and spring roll. It was delicious. The service is fast. Great service!

Food is always great from More but was shocked to see how they sent out an order of pepper steak ($23). Normally the container is the same size as the general Tso’s ($16) but not only is it half the size, it was empty!

More Express is perfect for takeout and eating at home. I recommend the veggie spring rolls, veggie sushi, and scallion pancakes. If you go there, you also HAVE to try there bubble tea.

Had lunch here, the food was tasty. We tried Singapore fried rice with chicken, fried vegetable dumplings, lychee bubble tea and shrimp lemon grass soup. All dishes tasted different for our Indian taste buds and we liked them. The food was light and not too filling as we would like it to be The bubble tea was light and good as well. The place is a Thai and sushi hotel. The hosts are good. I recommend to visit for a pocket friendly food option in this area of Jersey City.

Been eating here for a few years - - ever since I moved to Jersey City. They have the best Thai food in the city and also incredible sushi rolls (my favorite is the Newark). The staff is very nice. The lunch specials mid week are amazing. The garden in the back is absolutely fantastic. The place is BYTO. It's a great local business. If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would. Would highly recommend.

Really enjoy going to More Express for our sushi and that food cravings. Great menu, fast service, and tasty food! I think this is definitely one of the best Thai food places in Jersey City.

Sushi was fresh and the shrimp dumplings are actually really good in flavor. The dumplings don’t have that fishy taste or smell, only down side is that they are tiny.

Solid Asian fusion restaurant near the Grove St PATH station and Newark pedestrian plaza. Nothing stands out in their decor, menu or pricing but the food was tasty and the service was good.

I tried a few dishes here , wow so yummy. Service is excellent!

I ordered the general tsao with white rice. When I saw a dead maggot on the broccoli. I look around the other broccoli and to my surprise there was another broccoli with a grey maggot on it. I showed the waiter and he really tried his best. Customer service was a+. He gave a discount on the food and remade my order. I give 5 stars for service but 1 for the food and professionalism in the kitchen. Once I saw that I couldn’t finish eating anymore it spoiled my appetite. I couldn’t look at my food anymore without picking it apart.

Our table ordered 6 different sushi rolls and all were excellent, as were gyoza and teriyaki tofu that tasted homemade. Best of all, the service was fabulous. The staff delivered in every way. They really went the extra mile (and a half).

Such poor customer service! I pre-ordered food on seamless for delivery 3 hours later as we were expecting guests. I called the restaurant ahead before placing the order and they confirmed it but 30 mins before scheduled delivery, someone from seamless called saying the restaurant canceled my order. So I called the restaurant and the lady on the phone was so rude!! She’s like we’re sold out and there’s nothing I can do. We were so embarrassed and tensed as we had to rush at the last minute to order something else. At one point when we said why did they confirm the order then, she actually started yelling at us. This is probably the 5th or 6th time that they’ve canceled our order but the last time I’m ordering from them. Such a shame cos we actually liked the food from here. Oh and the rep from seamless was even worse. But I’ll handle that complaint with seamless separately! I’m not giving another cent of my hard earned dollars to such poor service at this restaurant or at seamless!!

Does not deserve a star. Pathetic customer service - rude on the phone, lying about your order status while shouting at you, telling me never to order through Postmates. I had to tell her to calm down and say I’m calling just to ask where the food was since it has been over 1.5 hours.

Man these ppl are something else

The last time we ate here, a few of us came down with really bad headaches about an hour or so after our meal. Even though I had a vegetarian dish, it still didn't sit well in my stomach for hours afterwards.

The food was tasty, however the portions were disappointingly small and extremely expensive for both Grove Street, and what you actually get on your plate. I had to do a double-take when I saw the receipt.

Don't let the plastic wrap draped over the front of the shop, stacks of chairs leaning against the windows, non-existent lighting, and lack of indoor seating fool you. They are indeed open, but just barely.

The manager was reluctant to let us enter the shop to use the restroom, and insisted that we get sprayed with lysol before entering. Before we could touch the paper menus, we needed to douse our hands in sanitizer. They won't offer indoor seating until everyone in NJ gets the vaccine, which is a tall, if not impossible order.

It's unfortunate that paranoia got the better of them, but we will not be coming back here.

There are other more reasonable businesses in the area.

Just ordered their delivery. Thai pasta tasted like it was made few days ago, macaroni were stuck together, no flavor whatsoever. Sushi were okay. The duck tasted terrible. The worse experience in jersey so far

You can try drunken noodles, this is really nice.

The green curry I got for lunch portion seemed very little. The taste wasn't there, it wasn't spicy and not the best I've tasted. My wife got drunken noodle and we asked for no fish sauce or oyster sauce. They didn't substitute any sauce and made it with just plain noodle so it has no taste at all.

All the places we to go make the noodles without this and make it equally as tasty but more Express forgot to add more sauce or something.

Ordered sushi and everything was delicious. I ordered in the store and got my food in 10 minutes!

A little overpriced for the quality and amount of food you get, at least the sushi rolls, maybe the Thai food would be better there.

Its one of my favorite spot to go and enjoy there bubble tea and sushi. Great atmosphere and service is always on point.

Came for a date for dinner tonight cause we both agreed on Asian/sushi.

Food was okay, and just okay. Not even that great, really. Usually I do not eat at, and I recommend that people not eat at, restaurants that say they are Thai-Japanese-Asian-mix whatever. The food tends to be subpar as they aren't concentrating their efforts into one cuisine. So needless to say, I have certainly had better and more flavorful sushi. The carrots as a side veggie in my dish were weirdly flavored, almost tasting chemically.

But the meat of my review is about the service. Unfriendly non-smiling waiter who seemed annoyed with his job and was gruff. Bento boxes are not served as a dinner option, only lunch, which is weird. But worse, everything was served in plastic containers and on paper plates with plastic cutlery. I did not get a clear answer when I asked if this was due to paranoia around the pandemic. I suppose it makes sense as a safety precaution, but when tons of other restaurants are just washing dishes as normal and would be killing the virus anyways through washing, this presentation was not at all nice. Their bathroom was also closed and thankfully the staff at the bar next door who were actually friendly let me in to use their restroom. I suppose it wasn't a mystery that there weren't many outdoor tables filled when we arrived at this Asian restaurant...

Food is good but service is literal trash. Such a shame because they are in such a nice location with nice people. I wonder how long it will take them to get out of business. I kept trying with them but its just how they do their business (or lose business). Anyways when they close down hope real business owners come and run their business right.
