Serving authentic Malaysian, Thai, and Singaporean home cooking specialties inspired by Grandma's recipes.
We have been dining at Penang for years and decided to return with some friends on a Sunday evening. Unfortunately, for the first time, we left Penang very disappointed. Penang offers a decent selection of Malaysian dishes, with some hits and misses. The flavors are generally authentic, with dishes like the Roti Canai, Beef Satay, Beef Rendang and Char Kway Teow standing out for their taste.
However, we also ordered the Indian Chili Chicken, which was unappetizing. It consisted of chicken with onions doused in a cinnamon sauce. For anyone who knows what good chili chicken should be, save your appetite and avoid this dish. Additionally, the overall dining experience was marred by slow and inattentive service. Getting the attention of the staff can be a real challenge.
We were a group of seven and were charged a 20% service fee on our bill, so be aware of your bill.
The young lady had such an attitude. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day, lazy day, or not care at all. I was glad an older waitress attended us after she neglected us, and she was so sweet and helpful picking our dishes. She was on point with her knowledge of the dishes we ordered. I love her❤️
Very surprised to see hot stone bowl rice on menu. We tried the lemongrass and the Thai basil chicken. Both were sizzling hot throughout the meal, so delicious we didn’t waste a single rice grain. The spicy Thai curry chicken entree lacks flavor and chicken tasted tough, that was disappointing. Thai iced tea and the Vietnamese hot tea with milk tasted the same.. can’t figure out that one. Vietnamese iced coffee isn’t bad. Service is quick and attentive. Ambience not bad. Off street parking. Extensive menu but prices aren’t updated to what was actually charged. Not big deal but restaurant should take notice to correct prices. Overall just the hot stone bowl rice would bring us back soon.
Food is good. We have been coming here with friends. Highly recommend this place
The name Penang gives an impression of a Malaysian restaurant, which it used to be. The food was genuinely Malaysian and the quality was good. It may have changed chefs or ownership as the menu now offers more Chinese (Cantonese) cuisines with a hint of Malaysian or fusion of Malaysian Chinese dishes. We recently ordered a staple dish: salted fish fried rice, and it was OK.
Highly recommended spot. Food is delicious and staff is very attentive as well as the owner.
Update: I did win the dispute with my credit card company
Absolutely horrible, I didn't want to believe the bad reviews as this place is right around the corner from my job and we send many ppl there because it's close and walkable, despite the bad reviews. I've even had complaints from our customers about their food, but today I decided to order. The food looks nothing like the picture on Google and my Thai Lemongrass Stone Pot Rice showed up with curry on it and no veggies. Since when is lemongrass yellow? Even if you Google random Thai Lemongrass Stone Pot Rice images, nothing looks like what I was given and all images have veggies on it. I will post pics of what I ordered vs what they gave me. The worst part is after texting the customer service lady there numerous pics she continued to argue with me saying that there are no pics on their website. I ordered from Google and there are pics all over there under their menu and business name. Don't get mad at the customer for where you promote your business as you took my money and order from that same site, but now want to argue that this is not your site. Make it make sense. On their actual direct site there is no pic or even a description of the food. How is it the customers fault that Google is where I placed my order based on the pics and they took my money and now want to claim the pics do not belong to their business ? If it's not your site then give me my money back and take the food back. Their argument makes zero sense. I do not eat curry and didn't want anything that looks yellow or what they gave me. I'm disgusted at this first impression. I will never send another customer there as their lack of desire to fix the issue was far worse than the initial screw up. Not one of their stone pot items shows a pic with anything yellow on it. I will dispute with my bank and throw the food away. I should have just got Thai Food from Phatra Thai as I would have been happier and satisfied. Do not order from them or waste your money. Phatra Thai in Metuchen has way better food and stand by their pictures to at least give an idea as to what is on their menu items. Google this place if you do not believe that they have pics on almost every menu item. The manager then called me and was highly disrespectful and continued to argue saying maybe the pic came from another place. Umm, then how did you get my order sir and take my money/credit card with my online order from this site? Never again! Stay away? I also called to make sure my food was ready before pick up and the lady asked me if I wanted to add egg, I said "sure". Then she tells me it's $2.00 more as if they are working in a nail salon with the upsell tactics. I did get the egg added but can't eat that either as everything has curry on it and my office stinks like curry too. No wonder they have a 3.8 rating.
Poor service, over fried food. Feeling sick.
The food was absolutely delicious! I’ll definitely be back. The prices are great too, with a lot of food for your money.
Service was terribly slow. Some of our appetizers did not come. Server did not follow up to take our main course order and on top of that she was defensive. This place ain’t getting my future business.
Haven't been back there in a couple of yrs. They renovated the place and looked nicer with white cushioned chairs. We ordered fried red snapper in Malaysian sauce. The fish was big, but I found that the fish was a bit hard and dry because they must have deep fried a bit too long. Overall, all the dishes were good.
Food is great. But Hainanese Chicken is served cold so if you are not familiar with it, you may not like it.
One of the best fusion, south East Asian restaurants I've known.. the portion size has gone down, guess because of the pandemic.. nevertheless finger licking food!!
Too less nunmber of waiters to get and deliver the order for our family of 12 within reasonable time. Simply missmanaged in general. They are only good to give standard service for 4 to 6 people naximum
The food was very good. The atmosphere was nice.
A good place for those who would like to try Malaysian foods in NJ
Must try.... good taste 👌 really loved it...
Food was delicious, had a large party and they were able to accommodate at short notice on a weekend. Never disappointed.
We were a party of six and was seated right away, however, the timeliness of service was below average to poor. It tool a good 15 just to offer drinks then another 15 to take orders. The newly seated couple was served faster. Our order was finally taken, served slowly one by one and by the time all the dishes was served, the rest were cold. Fried rice order came rediculously late when we were almost done, ready to cancel. After follow up, a wtong fried rice came and comes another wait. A server that did not understand English took our left overs after trying to explain for them to be boxed up. She disappearsd and I saw our food hanging around open for the next 15-20min. When I asked another server, she did not even know where our to go food were, meaning no communication between servers. Since we were party of 6, our bill had an automatic 20% tip which I thought was not deserved. Perhaps it shouldn't have been automatically added so that the tip will be dependent on the service provided. Really bad experience celebrating by birthday dinner at this place.
Everything is great here except sometimes you have to flag the waitress or waiter down because they are so busy. My advice is just order everything at once, appetizer, drinks, and main meal so everything will arrive on time. Food is very very tasty.
Great food! Authentic!
Good was great but found it a bit pricey.
The best food in NJ. Good food, good service, and great atmosphere. highly recommended.

The food was vey good I’d rice of house with shrimp and lychee ice tea delicious
Worst restaurant. We ordered vegetarian roti canai for delivery, when we saw chicken in it, we informed them, they told us to come there to pick veg one, went all the way there to pick veg one, took chicken one and gave the box, when we open that box there are absolutely no vegetables, it’s just soup looks like she removed chicken pieces gave the same box.
One star is a lot horrible terrible service . Pls don't waste ur time here
I will not visit again because the materials are not fresh, and taste like very old food. After I took food at here and my stomach got hurt. If u stomach is very strong, u can try. But for me, I hate food with not fresh materials.
This restaurant is below average. Not the worst restaurant experience ive had, but definitely not the best. The booths are uncomfortable and there are peices of the wall missing. Some of the meat is undercooked, almost all of it has some bitter aftertaste, and me and my family only finished some of the food. The menu has spice levels for the food, but after ordering something that said it was not spicy, it burned our mouths and was one of the spiciest things we had ever eaten. After this, we didnt want to finish this, and didnt want to pay for it. We asked and they accepted, but spent like 2 minutes trying to convince us otherwise. The whole time, the waiter was forgetting things and just not getting them, such as a side of brown rice, that we didnt end up getting. The whole time, they did not give us water refills. Speaking of water, when i spilled water, the waiter, who saw what happened, ran off. We only had 3 tissues to clean it up, and we didnt manage to. We did not get tissues. The dessert was fine, but the mango sticky rice did not look very appealing. Finally on the bottom of the check had a tip guide, which had options of 20%, 30%, and 40%! This was not a good experience, and i wouldn’t recommend coming here.
Price increase food portion decreased. Ordered Golden calamari which is now $19 and the portion is significantly less than before. Just lost a customer here .
We have dined here over the years when we craved authentic Malaysian food. Service was friendly and efficient.
Roti Canai (Indian bread) was a popular appetizer. It was thin and crispy. Hainanese Chicken Rice had tender chicken and flavorful rice, but its portion size had gotten very small. So instead, we now ordered Half Hainanese Chicken plus a bowl of chicken flavored rice. If you like tofu, try the Penang Tofu. Its tofu was silky and cooked in lobster sauce with bay scallops and mushrooms. We used to like Penang Char Kway Teow (fried rice noodles), but it wasn't as good on our recent visits.
We wanted to get a booth but since we were only two people they didn’t allow us to have booth. We waited for 25 minutes and nobody cane to take the order. We asked couple of times if someone going take our order but it was a no show. I would given 0 star if I could for service.
Great Malaysian restaurant. Friendly waitstaff, very varied menu, delicious fresh food. We will return. Chicken pan fried dumplings, shrimp and veggies with chili paste, sautéed veggies with garlic & sesame chicken. The coconut rice was wonderful. We loved everything.
It's a guilty pleasure, Pad Thai, Thai Basil, curry puffs, I want to go back right now. As a low spice tolerant person I've always enjoyed my meal (let them know what you like, they're great).
I like their Zongzi and Hainan Chicken Rice.
Restaurant patron beware! This restaurant is dishonest, from food served to bill presented, it was not the same as it used to be years ago. We ordered roti canal, the curry that came with was watered down with no flavor at all. We were charged the price for roti murtabak but was served roti telur. We ordered side of chicken flavored rice, but they did not put the chicken flavor into our rice. We ordered Tom yum noodle soup with seafood, but we were charged extra even we ordered from their updated menu from the QR code. We were also charged more for beef add-on. Nothing was accurate from the food yo our final check. If you don’t ask them to fix the problems, you are being fooled by paying extra. I’ve never seen a restaurant THIS dishonest. If you like the food they served and don’t mind those hidden extra bucks here and there, good luck!
Terrible service, please do not order through Uber or online. When you arrive to pick up the order, it takes more than 30 minutes to deliver it to you. And they never tell you the time it will be ready. Playing with the client's time.
4 stars for taste and quality of food
Service is pathetic..no one to greet or seat you and it took 15 minutes for someone to even come to our table... language is a handicap here
However if you are a patient person and love good food would recommend
Best Malaysian food in town
Been here a few times. The food is good however the service is slow.
Could not handle the mother's day 2024 rush. Have had good experiences before, but sadly not today.
Did not seat, take orders, serve, or bill fast enough. My family and several other left after slow service. We left after waiting one hour for main course.
They prioritized appetizers and mobile orders. Infuriating seeing to-go bags full of food while several families sit hungry. Kitchen output was clearly not high enough.
We always eat here, but for some reason, today it did ruin my Mother's Day celebration!!!
Waited for an hour just to find out that most of our food is not ordered.. the server took our order and repeated it but did not put it in to be cooked???
Just found out when another server checked on us ... then took care of our order and told us 15 minutes.. served the entree but no rice for my son and our fried rice.. have to wait for 30 minutes but still not complete. So after almost 3 hours of starvation , we got to eat finally !! I know today is so busy for mother's day celebration, but if they couldn't serve the customer properly they should limit the accommodations and shouldn't let everyone be seated but not being served properly..so upset and hungry !!!
Your Passport to Street Food Paradise.
In Southeast Asia, street food represents the best food you can find. Drinks are served in plastic bags, rice comes hand-wrapped in fresh banana leaves or printed newspaper. Small shops and carts cooking simple home style food.
Sometimes portable, sometimes not. You can always tell a delicious street food stall by the amount of people crowded around small wobbly tables sitting on even smaller stools.
Slurpring noodles, sipping kopi, raising a bottle. This is what street food means to us. Simple and good. Casual and fun. Always delicious.
Born on the streets of Penang, Malaysia.
Copied!
I miss living in Jersey because of great food like this! Y’all, I got the curry puffs which had vegetarian options! I also got the Basil Thai Fried Rice and the Bobo chacha,(it was like a coconut milk type of soup) Everything was delicious with reasonable prices! The waiter was also very kind. So good vibes & good food is always the way to go!
Tried “Thai basil fried rice,” their wings and shrimp wontons. Shrimp wontons, I don’t know even know what they were, wings were all stretchy and overcooked but okay..I guess it’s better than undercooked. Lastly the Thai basil fried rice was honestly just Chinese fried rice..absolutely no thai basil and no Thai flavor. It makes me question all their Thai dishes if they can’t make a simple Thai basil fried rice. The food is not awful but not great
Are you guys serve halal food?
Outstanding food and the people working were lovely!! This place deserves way better overall ratings. Far too good to be below 4 stars
Very aggressive on selling food
This is our favorite place for Roti Canai appetizer. Always delicious. Their Satay Tofu is so creative and delicious. We also like beef in black bean sauce, or pepper sauce, chicken or tofu with mango, and vegetable fried rice.
And here is the issue; any restaurant is only as good as their food being prepared consistently. And last time we went it was not. The vegetable fried rice was totally different texture and taste. It was awful. The beef black been sauce dish did not taste fresh.
Also, it is time to deep clean this restaurant. The light fixtures above tables are gross. Spider was walking on a table.
I hope owners read this review and take care of their kitchen and restaurant so we can keep supporting their business.
Been here for over 20yrs. Service used to be nonexistent . However they are recently trying to improve. But it have been awkward. He is too focus on socializing end up saying and doing inappropriate things.
"Goodbye my homie" is culturally inappropriate. "How's it hanging? " inappropriate way to greet a customer. Even go as far as making a comment about the size of the person. What he looks like does not matter. We come here to eat. Just keep it professional.
Hand feed a kid food that just came out that is steaming hot is unacceptable. How do you know if the parents are okay with you doing that to their kid? That is crossing the line.
Never check if all the food that was ordered have been received. So busy socializing and fail to realize missing dishes, or rice and or extra bowls. They need to understand what good service entails. Management need to do better with training.
The food is the ONLY reason I keep coming back. The food are amazing.
Food is good but time to get
Penang Malaysian & Thai Cuisine is a culinary gem that transports diners on a flavorful journey through the vibrant cuisines of Malaysia and Thailand. Located in the heart of the city, this restaurant has garnered widespread acclaim for its authentic dishes, inviting ambiance, and exceptional service.
From the moment you step inside, the aroma of aromatic spices and sizzling woks fills the air, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The menu boasts a diverse selection of Malaysian and Thai delicacies, each crafted with precision and care to capture the true essence of Southeast Asian cuisine.
One of the restaurant's standout dishes is the iconic Penang Curry, a fragrant blend of coconut milk, lemongrass, and spices, simmered to perfection with tender chicken or beef. Another crowd favorite is the Pad Thai, a classic Thai stir-fry dish featuring rice noodles, tofu, shrimp, and peanuts, tossed in a tangy tamarind sauce.
For those craving Malaysian flavors, the Nasi Lemak is a must-try dish, featuring coconut rice served with crispy fried chicken, anchovies, peanuts, and a spicy sambal sauce. Each bite is a symphony of flavors, balancing sweetness, heat, and umami in perfect harmony.
In addition to its delectable mains, Penang Malaysian & Thai Cuisine also offers a tempting selection of appetizers, soups, and desserts. Diners rave about the crispy spring rolls, refreshing Tom Yum soup, and decadent mango sticky rice, each dish bursting with authentic flavors and textures.
Complementing the exceptional cuisine is the restaurant's warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with elegant décor and attentive service. With its tantalizing flavors and impeccable hospitality, it's no wonder this restaurant has become a beloved favorite among food enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.
Very authentic Malaysian cuisine. The service was fabulous and friendly. Prices are normal for 2024. The flavors of the sauces were spot on. I'd recommend the rotimcanai, chicken rice, and pad Thai. Will recommend more after the next visit. They are that good!
Food is not great anymore. Looks like chef change . Not going again. Waiters are new also. They have no idea about menu
We ordered Roti Canai, Pan fried Dumplings, Pad thai, chicken fried rice ( very spicy). Its not that spicy to me ( I eat very spicy food) and its tastes very bland and normal. So its okay. The pan Fried dumplings are basically the steamed dumplings which are fried front and back which I didn't expect. But the Roti Canai is the best. Must try. Pad Thai is absolutely great. If you have to feel any better the combination of Pad Thai and Chicken fried rice is absolutely outstanding. I suggest this as dish 😋 . The service and the atmosphere here are great.
It was unfortunate not to experience the food as it took over 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us & several guests waiting to be seated. The restaurant was quite cold, suggesting there might be a heating issue. Some guests even had their coats on while eating. Ultimately, my boyfriend and I ended up leaving because it was uncomfortably cold to stay and enjoy a meal.
The food was great.
Great food and service.
Best Malaysian restaurant in NJ
Very very very bad food and service was even worse.
Chicken was over fried like thin crisp CHIPS. Roti Canai served cold. Chicken Satay was dry and very thin pieces with absolutely no taste.
This place is junk. Don't waste your money. We went there on Saturday evening at ~7:30pm and the restaurant was pretty much empty -- speaks for itself!
Not sure if the food or the service was worse. Server was neglecting our table after our order. No refills whatsoever. Which is odd because 3 staff are just standing in the middle of the restaurant the whole time. As for the food, it was definitely for a gentrified palette. Wont be returning, ever.
This place started going down hill a few years ago. I think new owners came in and resuscitated life and flavor back into the food. The menu has changed a bit. Crowded times kind of suck. The service is not reliable and the food comes out at all different times. I suggest going early or late. When you do, the difference in service is much more a pleasant experience. This month my fave is the salted fish noodles!
I love the lady here. She is so sweet. Food is delicious, of course
We had a reservation for a group and waited for a while for someone to attend us. The lady acknowledged but never sent anyone to attend us. They got 3 orders wrong and the server got annoyed at us. No way we are going to eat what we haven't ordered. Green curry and drunken noodles tasted good. Roti makai curry was good but I wasn't very happy with the quality of chicken.
Kari Sayur vegetable pot and Drunken noodles were delicious! Didn’t taste fish or oyster sauce which was ideal!
Authentic Malaysian & Thai food can be experienced for a pocket friendly budget. We ordered Thai red chicken curry which comes with loads of vegetables. Very authentic taste and enjoyed it. Also the Indian chilli chicken version was quite dull and tasteless. Singaporean rice noodles was also ok type.
I’ve been to place before and it used to be very good. Went there for dinner and took the waiter 15 minutes before we could put our order in. Then another 30 mins before the first dish came out. The entrees arrived separately with each entree having a 10 min gap each (ordered 5 entrees). They also gave us the wrong veggie dish and asked us if that’s ok. Food and portion is mediocre and service was horrible. It seems like they are completely understaffed and I’m pretty sure that it goes for the cooks as well seeing how it took that long to get our dinner. They tried to charge us for an appetizer that we didn’t order and it’s a good thing we caught it.
Overall, I would have to say that it is pretty disappointing since that used to be a very good place and probably won’t be going back anymore. Good luck
It was my first time here and I must admit it the food is delicious and they so friendly I love this restaurant. Penang Malaysian & Thai
I have been here twice and the food was excellent. First time I came I enjoyed the calmness and ate my food in peace. I appreciated that they gave me time to look over the menu and wasn't rushed. I enjoyed the wonton soup, Malaysian tea, and appetizers. I recently brought my sister to enjoy the soup and she was impressed how good it tasted. I enjoyed the atmosphere because there are not many places you can enjoy eating in peace. Definitely returning for next entree and my favorite tea.
Food is good.
BYOB.
Chicken not good. Doesn't feel fresh.
Food is great. I especially love the reasonably priced roti canai. For dinner beef with Chinese broccoli…so awesome!
Went there to eat, and the food came out incredibly quickly for the appetizer and the main meal.
We ordered beef and chicjen skewers with peanut butter sauce and chicken dumplings. Both were delicious.
Then we also ordered mango juice (I wish they watered it down less with ice though), spicy fried rice with beef and chicken drunken noodles. Everything was great.
Also this is some of the best service I've ever had. The waiters were diligently watching us and picking up our trays and filling our water. It felt like the level of service was that of a Michelin star restaurant
I highly recommend this establishment to anyone in the mood for a good time
Food is ok but for the price they need get more waiters. They take a long time to bring the food out.
Haines chicken 🐔 delicious, penang chow quai teow, roti canai, curry mee, yummy!!!
It used to be good, not anymore.
The pinnacle of culinary excellence!
We loved the food, ambience and the host. Seating upon arrival was as easy as it could be; the food arrived a little late, but that could owe to our hunger timing it to be longer than it actually was! And, the host in fact seemed to be the only person taking orders, that in fact did not stop her from being slow. We ordered our usual - Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles. I don’t actually recommend the crispy chicken, for the portion size is bigger than usual, but other items are worth giving a try. I’m surely getting back in there to try more items on the menu - and, you do too!
I have been visiting this restaurant since the 1990s. It was an amazing experience to be Gere after a long time.
Placed an order through grubhub for pickup. When I reached there no one was on the counter. After three four mins a lady came and she pointed me towards my order and before I could say thank you she left. We had placed a big order for 7 people and when I came to my place and checked the food, nothing was labelled. We had two people who didn’t eat non veg and there was no way to identify which was which other than tasting it. We also got one of our order messed up. After spending 15 mins to figure out the food we realised the taste was also disappointing.
I got a soup and it was really good but my boyfriend got a chicken dish and it truly wasn’t the best but the food isn’t even the problem. The service was low-key crazy like after they seated us we sat there for a good 45 minutes without a single person like saying a word to us. And it got to the point were my boyfriend asked someone if we could get served and they just didn’t respond and it wasn’t even busy😭😭. And when someone took our order they were just like what do you want and then left 💀💀. The place is really cute and nice tho not gonna lie
Great place to eat if you want try Malaysian or Thai food.
Price on the check is higher than the price on the menu.
The place is very nice, and the food smelled delicious. I have been wanting to eat at this restaurant for some time. The waiter we had was so rude, when he walked to our table, I thought to myself he look’s frustrated as if he didn’t want to help us. The table across from us were Asian people, he seemed very positive with them, I just hope he wasn’t rude towards me and my wife because we were Spanish. But everything else about the place seemed really nice, I just got stuck in with the wrong waiter.
Very good ambiance and food. Service could be better as last time person from behind us didn’t want to claim few steps and come to our table 😛
Always good food and enjoyable family experience. Definitely recommend!
Worst service or to be precise NO SERVICE! We waited for over a half an hour to be seated and that was understandable because the place was busy. Finally got seated and waited for an hour to order. No one came to the table, even though they saw us waiting to order. When I asked politely if someone can take our order, the waiter turned around, continuing doing something else. No apologies, no "I will help you in a minute", nothing! We got up and left. Waisted 2 hours in this place for nothing!
I started going to this location in 2000 so I've been a customer for over 23yrs. This place used to be quaint and the food was authentic with a vibrant taste and I used to visit often.. Nowadays I pickup food when I'm driving thru the area which is not as often.. this last experience failed to meet my expectations.. tom yum soup noodle dish was lacking any lemon grass flavor, the meat was tasteless and overcooked. The other items we ordered were no better, either spicy when it wasn't supposed to be (no pepper on menu) or missing ingredients like anchovies.. i hope the chef was having a bad day.. I might give it one more chance before writing this place off..

I revisited Edison location again....Food was delicious, but... Still you need to be very patient to wait for your orders even it was not crowded..... B-
---------------------------------
I visited this restaurant many times a while ago. At that time, there wasn't any Google map... They have 3 locations, Rt 10, Quakerbridge mall Rt 1, and this main restaurant. I had been to all three. This is the first time after the impact of COVID-19. The taste of its Malaysian cuisine is still the same. Very delicious.... The price is still inexpensive. Unfortunately, I have to complain about the slow Kitchen speed..... I was very unsatisfied at this visit because of this. If you don't mind or are a very patient customer, you still can satisfy your taste buds here.....
Good food and decent service.. was slow but even the service was slow as well.
Went in for lunch right as they opened. They were still setting up other tables so we understand that it would take some time as they just opened. After sitting there for 5 minutes I had to ask for a menu. 1 was given then we were ready to order. Asked 2 people for tea and water and neither said anything to us just looked at us. After 15 minutes me my mother and toddler had to leave because no one came to check on us or give us our tea and water. We were patient but was ignored.
The young lady had such an attitude. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day, lazy day, or not care at all. I was glad an older waitress attended us after she neglected us, and she was so sweet and helpful picking our dishes. She was on point with her knowledge of the dishes we ordered. I love her❤️
Great place, not sure why the rating isn’t higher. Ordered about 7 dishes and they all came out under 20 minutes. The flavor is immaculate, especially because of the sauces. Would highly recommend this to anyone who likes flavorful, perfectly-cooked food
Delivery is crazily slow after ordering on grub hub but food is awesome 😁
Had a great lunch with the family .Very authentic flavors
The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was good.
Would like to go again
This is one of my favorite places to visit. The Roti canni is delicious and I love finger food! Had the baby eggplant in garlic sauce today with fresh sliced garlic. It was so good. Can't wait to be back again.
Great 👍
Great place to eat. I love the food. Saw my cousin finally. It was almost 30 years plus. So it's A freaking for me. A= awesome
The best!
No flavor and a the beef is not what u think never again
Every time I've been here, their food has been amazing. I love their golden calamari.
Misleading Menu prices!
We checked the Penang take-out menu prices and saw the awards being displayed at the main entrance, so we decided to eat in and ordered 6 dishes, drinks & desserts, but when we got the bill, we noticed the total was $20 plus dollars more than expected, so we asked the server why each item that we ordered is $1 to 3 dollars more... He only said that the price has increased. Which is very misleading. Also, the portions are very small, and the deep-fried pork was not very fresh. Over Over all, Penang is very disappointing.
The food was very good but the prices are higher. Once they bring the food then they don't come back to see if you need anything more. They charge 18% gratuity automatically. So for 5 adults we paid $212, which is over $40 per person.
I have been coming here for years and found the food and service average. Tables and bathrooms could be cleaner, waitresses are friendly. The soup was lacking richness, and curry beef was just okay. However, the taro nest is delish, not many places have this dish anymore.
Every time I come here the food quality is not consistent and price keeps increasing by $1-2. By quality I mean the cooking quality… first time everything is cooked perfectly. Next few visits, some dishes are cooked too long or too dry.
I use to love the food here. Their curry was amazing. Sadly, now the quality of their food dropped. Their curry doesn't have much meat/vegetables in it. And their Naan bread was too tough.
My family visited this restaurant many times, since I was a child. We had not been here since 2018 or 2019, however, we visited again today for the first time in five years. It was awesome. The pork with preserved vegetables was soft, kangkong was well-cooked, and the hainanese chicken was delicious when paired with the sauce. We also ordered a pad Thai and that was really tasty. All I'd say is that the kangkong was on the dry side, but otherwise everything was great. We'll be back!
